Blocked instead of replying to Tumblr user a-toast-to-womanhood (it would have been an exhausting argument) but I had to laugh at them having issue with someone in that positives of WTNV post using the term 'queer' as in 'queer fans' by saying 'the word is gay not queer' and can't leave it unanswered.

First - that was your only takeaway from the whole post?

Second - no, it's queer. WTNV was important to many people of many genders and sexualities, not just those who would identify themselves as gay. We are not all Gay.

Gay is not as inclusive an umbrella term for everyone like queer is because it places one specific identity in the light. Because gay still means homosexual to most people, not 'anything not cishet'. Queer means anything not cishet. Die mad and pedantic I guess?

Third - you're allowed to not think of yourself as a queer person because you don't like that word but you can't take it away from the whole community and comments like that are irrelevant and unwarranted.
