Do I like reading depressing stuff? Or do I like getting a sense of comfort and understanding when I feel I'm all alone?

“Who am I? Who am I?”
“You’re Jude St. Francis. You are my oldest, dearest friend. You’re the son of Harold Stein and Julia Altman. You’re the friend of Malcolm Irvine, of Jean-Baptiste Marion, of Richard Goldfarb, of Andy Contractor, of Lucien Voigt, of Citizen van Straaten, of Rhodes Arrowsmith, of Elijah Kozma, of Phaedra de los Santos, of the Henry Youngs. You’re a New Yorker. You live in SoHo. You volunteer for an arts organization; you volunteer for a food kitchen. You’re a swimmer. You’re a baker. You’re a cook. You’re a reader. You have a beautiful voice, though you never sing anymore. You’re an excellent pianist. You’re an art collector. You write me lovely messages when I’m away. You’re patient. You’re generous. You’re the best listener I know. You’re the smartest person I know, in every way. You’re the bravest person I know, in every way. You’re a lawyer. You’re the chair of the litigation department at Rosen Pritchard and Klein. You love your job; you work hard at it. You’re a mathematician. You’re a logician. You’ve tried to teach me, again and again. You were treated horribly. You came out on the other end. You were always you.” “And who are you?" "I'm Willem Ragnarsson. And I will never let you go.

THE DEAD ROMANTICS: review
5/5⭐️
I have seen so many reviews on this book, and everyone saying this is a must read! Yeah I agree…
The plot for this novel is something I have never come across and that right away intrigued me, it is a romance story that takes place between two characters - not your every day characters. Florence who is a ghost writer for a famous novelist and her editor… who is a ghost. It's a complicated story, but it is beautiful.
I fell in love with the small town, Florence's family and this fictional world. The themes here are heavy, death and mourning and life. But they were touched on so perfectly, it felt poetic. The way the author writes, it is beautiful and this book despite the heavier topics was very easy to read and get into the story.
I always love books that make me feel something, put my thoughts into beautiful words or make me see things differently - and this was one of them. I need a physical copy to annotate, and to treasure on my bookshelf.
I would also recommend this book for gloomier days, it is set in spring but something about this town and its chill brought me back to colder days (and it felt perfect reading this, while snuggled up under a blanket in bed)
This is one of those books I will never stop recommending, I would also love to see it as a movie. If you have been thinking of reading it, please what are you waiting for? It broke and put together my heart all in one. 🤍

does anyone want a lapvona book review without spoilers???!!🗣🗣
too bad cause im doing it anyway
Tumblr media
ok so what the fuck. genuinely.
it wasn't only confusing but also disgusting asf. im gonna review it without giving spoilers although i don't advise on reading it
it was a beautiful but only if you look at the way it was written. when ottessa wants to make a scene sad or disturbing she manages to perfectly, and the book was easy to read. BUT!!! surprisingly i didn't like it plotwise. i remember having gotten to the middle of the book still not knowing what the general idea of the book is, and from there on the plot just kept changing and changing every few pages, and im not talking about the cool plot twists, im talking about huge actions that completely could've changed the plot of the book BUT STILL DIDN'T CAUSE SHE DIDN'T STICK WITH IT. it honestly feels like she had a bunch of ideas for short stories or something and just threw them in there. there were a lot of plotholes and things that were just pointless and useless to the story. a book is supposed to have a start, a turning point, a climax and a solving, this one had constant highest peaks, and yet i didn't understand the main point of the book. like if you were to describe the entire plot in a few words you couldn't.
im not saying it didn't shock me or that i didn't enjoy turning every page to find some new damnation, but overall all of those interesting things didn't create a whole satisfying story and i KNOW im gonna have to reread it when im older.
plot: 7.8/10
writing: 9/10

Sooo I read Radio Silence ( very nice book, love the Alice Oseman's books ) and I pretty much had a panic attack because I couldn't hear anything and the silence was killing me. I never felt soo empty after reading a book.
I started reading Solitaire and I am afraid it will happen again. Is this reasonable? Like is the ending whole book as sad? Please inform me *WITHOUT SPOILERS* if you wish to. Feel free to talk about her books to, and if I should read any other of her book.
Edit: I kept reading, haven't finished, aaaaaaah
Edit: I am reading it for the second time. Its awesome
Edit ( again ): Finished rereading it and omg, I feel so empty

I'm so in love with angst that I can't read a fanfiction without it and if a hear about one and someone say that I gonna cry, I'll be afraid to read it but I know that I would love to read it.

My new favorite hobby is reading books where I know the cute little boyfriend dies and get sad at the cute parts because of how badly it ends.
