yet akaza remains unmoved by her platitudes,  yawning to show the full length of his wicked fangs before again couching himself back against the tree that he's lounging in.

The boar's head disappeared a little further into his knees. He had lifted the mask up just enough to bury his actual face into the fabric of his pants, the boar's snout resting atop his knees, strong arms wrapped around them.

"I'm not crying." He sniffled. The cracking of his voice didn't help make his words sound any more believable.

He didn't want to confide. He didn't want to talk at all. He was already glad enough that he'd escaped the confines of his room, despite the nurses' incessant watch. He was hardly injured – or at least, his muscles weren't.

His soul was another matter.

"...I've got nothing to say. Just leave me alone."

What else was there to say? Would she even understand why he felt so frustrated? She wasn't there to see what he saw. She didn't stand there, helpless, unable to move, as the bravest of all slayers was fighting for his life. For the lives of all those around him.

Kokushibo had been wandering the forest for some time now. The demon looking for any sign of the elusive Blue Spider Lily. But, so far there's none. And the demon is feeling the pressure from his angered Master.

With a sigh, Kokushibo rubs his temples to soothe the oncoming headache. He's noticed the feeling of being off since earlier night but had pushed it back. Chalking it up to nerves. But, now the demon isn't sure.

The air was clean and crisp earlier, but now the demon is having to take a few minutes to catch his breath. He knew something was off.

He had been ambushed by a small group of slayers just hours before. Though he had killed them with ease, one had managed to strike him with their katana.

Allowing himself to sit, the demon groans as his head swims and his vision blurs. Poisoned. He must have been poisoned.

The male did not notice the footfalls of someone coming.

She isn’t particulary sure how she’s been found, or if this slayer actually sought her out or accidentally pumped into her. Regardless, Mitsuri doesn’t feel threatened, she can sense the other isn’t a hashira. Still, she knows better than to underestimate anyone in the corps.

With a small smile, the brightly coloured demon drops the males deceased and bloody body she had been feasting upon before coyly bringing her hand up to her mouth.

THE DEMON GRINS  stretching his arms over his head,  flexing the muscles that rippled below such a slender figure.  his height was what made him appear so slender,  but he was surely stronger than you would believe him to be.  demon blood rushed through his veins,  the blood of one stronger than anyone,  gifting him just a fraction of that strength.  however,  he attributed most of his strength to the sharing of his body with hotaru,  one who he believed gave him all the strength he needed through his love.

  “  I’M A DEMON  after all,  and it only helps that I practically carry the two of us in here.  he helps me more than i could even display  -  trust me.  he’s always been so loving in that way,  such a kind,  kind person.  i’m very glad i have the opportunity to love him.  ”

THE WAY HE SPEAKS  of hotaru is like he’s still alive,  despite what remained of the other neatly kept in his own place of rest.  kōkotsu knows he’s gone,  but he instead chooses to think of it as a bond between the two,  a marriage in death rather than in life.  vile,  it was,  but it fulfilled him in a way that hotaru never would have allowed in life.
