Ukhimath Temple…!! Ukhimath (also spelled Okhimath) is a small town and a Hindu pilgrimage site in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand in India. It is situated at an elevation of 1,311 meters and at a distance of 41 km from Rudraprayag. During the winter, the Utsava Idols from the Kedarnath Temple, and Madhyamaheshwar Temple are brought to Ukhimath and worshipped here for six months. Ukhimath can be used as center destination for visiting different places located nearby, the Madhyamaheshwar Temple, Tungnath Temple and Deoria Tal (a natural fresh water lake) and many other picturesque places. According to Hindu Mythology, the wedding of Usha (Daughter of Banasura) and Aniruddha (Grandson of Lord Krishna) was solemnized here. By name of Usha this place was named as Ushamath, now known as Ukhimath. King Mandhata had performed severe penances to Lord Shiva here. During the winter, the Kedarnath and Madhyamaheshwar Temples are closed due to heavy snowfall in the area. As a result, the Utsava Idols of Kedarnath and Madhyamaheshwar are brought from Kedarnath and Madhyamaheshwar to the Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath. The winter puja of Kedarnath and Omkareshwar (the presiding deity of Ukhimath) is performed here. The Omkareshwar Temple is located at Ukhimath, which is at a distance of 41 km from Rudraprayag. . . . . . #rohitgpt009 #ukhimath #rudraprayag #uttarakhand #india #temple #mandir #religious #sentiments #lordshiva #shivratri #mahashivratri #mahashivratri2023 #piligrimage #hindu #omkareshwar #deity (at Ukhimath Temple) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoyiSXUopxG/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Kedarnath & Badrinath Trip
Tumblr media
A trip to Badrinath and Kedarnath, two of the holiest Hindu pilgrimage sites in the Himalayas, can be a spiritually enriching experience. Here's a brief overview of what to expect:
1. Badrinath:
Badrinath Temple: This sacred temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu is the main attraction. It's an important stop in the Char Dham Yatra pilgrimage circuit.
Mana Village: Visit the last Indian village on the India-Tibet border. It's known for its natural beauty and folklore.
Tapt Kund: A natural hot spring where devotees take a dip before entering the temple.
Vasudhara Falls: A beautiful waterfall known for its scenic beauty and religious significance.
2. Kedarnath:
Kedarnath Temple: Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and requires a trek to reach.
Gaurikund: The starting point of the trek to Kedarnath. It's also known for its hot water springs.
Chorabari Tal (Gandhi Sarovar): A pristine lake located at the base of Kedarnath's glaciers.
Shankaracharya Samadhi: Pay your respects at the samadhi (final resting place) of Adi Shankaracharya.
Here are some tips for your trip:
Be prepared for varying weather conditions, as these places are in high altitudes.
Carry proper trekking gear for the Kedarnath trek.
Respect the religious customs and traditions of these sacred places.
Check the weather and road conditions before traveling, as they can be affected by snowfall and landslides, especially during monsoon season.
Both Badrinath and Kedarnath offer a unique spiritual experience amidst the stunning natural beauty of the Himalayas.
