There is one thing that bugs me to no end in TWST, and it's the lack of RSA characters.
I know we're focusing on NRC, but the endgame is fast approaching, which means Interschool Magift tournament in the next arcs.
And wouldn't it be great if we had at least one RSA character parallelling each dorm? For maximum rivalry.
So far, there's only Chen'ya, Neige, and maybe Rielle for Heartslabyul, Pomefiore and Octavinelle, respectively. Which means we still need representatives for Savanaclaw, Scarabia, Ignihyde, Diasomnia and Ramshackle....
I know we'll probably meet them later on, but it can be tricky to add five new characters to the plot in one go, especially if you want to flesh out their relationships with the cast (we usually only get one or two characters per event, like Rollo or the hometown characters. And Neige was basically the main point of conflict in Book 5).

Well the poll got me thinking about White Palace in general
Do you think it was real at all?
Obviously some sort of structure was sitting in the Basin but was it really a palace? Was White Lady ever there? Was that where Pale King ever resided?
The station was hidden, the tram was new so it was obviously not a place for bugs to visit and if they did it was probably just the knights and royal retainers who stayed there
Maybe the structure was meant to look like a palace but in reality it was just where PK hid for his research? I can't not think about how close to the Abyss it is. The lighthouse. The presence of his creations, Kingsmolds and Wingsmolds, both within dream and outside of it
What if the palace was never really a palace?

i love the idea of isekaiing into fe engage because like. theres really only two livable countries to be in and you better hope its one of them. oh you wanna like. survive the plot? make your choice between late-stage capitalistic hellscape and the fucking desert!
"why isn't firene livable?" well you see canonically most of the people there are aristocracy or higher (where are all the ordinary people) amd also firene is one of the more consistently attacked countries during the plot. also if you "disrupt the peace" (royalty and aristocracy definition of peace) the royal family straight up kills you so you can bet theres no unions and no chance of getting a union. i hope those tea field workers are all getting paid well...
meanwhile you dont want to be in elusia because thats the heart of the zombie apocalypse and also if its mid-to-late game youre prob gonna be sacrificed

Tears of the Kingdom is a real master class in game design
Just one for instance: the Zonai capsule dispensers are literal gacha machines (well, that bit of visual design language isn't as strong outside of Japan). This means that in the process of getting the specific device I want (everybody's hungry for steering sticks right?) I inevitably got a bunch of stuff I wouldn't've looked at twice if I were just buying them. The extra chaff means I have a lot of stuff just to play around and experiment with, leading me to engage more deeply with the game.

Do all Royals in the Royal!Legacy au have retainers or are Cole and Skylor just special? (Sorry to ask out of the blue, it’s just been on my mind lately!)
Np, always feel free to ask! And it is funny timing, as I’ve been working more on it recently!
Anywho, let’s break it down!
Cole: As we know, Cole only has one retainer, being Jay. For a long time, Cole didn’t need more than the direct protection of his parents (primarily his already ridiculously strong mother) as things were peaceful during their rule, but when Lilly died and unrest began to stir, Lou thought it was necessarily to have someone consistently around to keep an eye on Cole. Enter Jay, the adopted son of two kitchen attendants within the castle who worked his way up from job to job until eventually becoming close friends with the prince, and also became the best suited for the job. Jay’s position is actually a more recent change, but because he takes it so seriously, he actually is very good at it (which Cole is aware of, but sometimes fails to appreciate when it hinders his attempts at romance lol)
Antonia, meanwhile, is a mere Palace Guard, but due to inference with Jesse winds up smack in the middle of Cole’s core circle of people anyway. If anything, she could be called Jesse’s retainer with how closely she keeps an eye on him, but that would only be applicable if Jesse had any drop of Royal decree to his name, so that’s nothing more than a dream~
Skylor: Skylor has three retainers—Maggie, Meghan, and led by her jaded cousin Chad, and she has a rather excessive amount due to the insistence of her father. It’s partly for protection, partly to keep a very close eye on her (but Skylor can get around Chad very easily, if she doesn’t make a scene about it). Chad tries to do a good job because it’s the most significant role their family has given him, and Maggie wants to support Chad while Meghan wants to support Maggie…but they get a little too enthusiastic with their protection and wind up causing more problems than solving them.
Lloyd: Being the only son of the High Central Court, Lloyd also has three retainers—Brad, Gene, and Sally. They were all appointed by Garmadon due to them being around Lloyd’s age + being very supportive of Garmadon’s (evil and warmongering) agenda. Brad and Gene tend to butt heads over whether to support Lloyd’s wishes or do things that further Garmadon’s agenda, soooo Lloyd usually winds up giving them all the slip with a lil help from Sally. These three collectively also tend to clash with Skylor’s retainers, but this has yet to be seen.
Harumi: Has no retainers, only her attendant Hutchins. He’s more of a servant than a dedicated knight, but can and will happily rise to the occasion should the opportunity call for it. With Hutchins being much older and her “parents” being so strict, it has left Harumi a little starved of interaction from people closer to her age, which deep down, is partly why she chose to assist Jesse+Antonia in the first place (and also a love of causing problems on purpose, but we’ll see where that goes).
Kai and Nya: Are kind of each other’s retainers??? With their parents being far less strict, living in a calmer kingdom, and teaching both children how to wield, build, and handle a variety of weapons, the Rulers of the Southern Kingdom are not all that worried about their children in any situation. Regardless, Nya still feels the need to step before Kai sometimes because he’s “more important” while Kai will throw himself in front of Nya because “that’s my little sister dammit” sooo as long as they’re in the same area as one another, they’re probably more than fine. But just the same, their more relaxed attitudes about the general state of affairs do cause a few small rifts with members of the other kingdoms (and is partly why Kai is in the situation he is now).
Zane: Like Cole, he was only appointed a retainer very recently—a masked soldier supposedly from a noble family who goes by Samurai X. Aurora had hoped it would be an opportunity for a friendship for Zane, to give him some company and comfort after so much loss in their family, but Samurai X takes their job so seriously as Zane’s protector despite not needing to that they hardly say anything at all. Zane still speaks pleasantly with them, even if they do not always respond, but does hope that they can break the ice in the future.

So I’ve been loving all your FEH stuff! Your art is very very pretty it looks like candy and I want to eat it to become all powerful. But now I got a question! Got any thoughts on Anna? She also gets pretty sidelined by the plot which is a damn shame because I find her dynamic with Askr siblings FASCINATING. With all their complications with making friends, Anna seems like the only friend Alfonse and Sharena have successfully made and I would kill to know how that happened.
EXTREMELY THRILLED TO HEAR THIS HAHAHA esppp thank you!!! That is SUCH a compliment... deeply honored to have my art achieve edible-looking status 🫡
ALSO. I'VE. BEEN ROTATING THIS IN MY BRAIN SO BAD. The unfortunate thing I'll be upfront about is that I don't have a lot of thoughts about Anna, aside from like, appreciating her gimmick and finding her funny.
But I DO agree she does have a fascinating dynamic with the siblings. Like. I think it's so interesting to see how Anna is their superior, as the commander and leader of the Order of Heroes, while at the same time Alfonse and Sharena are literally the prince and princess of Askr. Which IS par for the course for the Order of Heroes to have royalty in their ranks, but still!! It's a dynamic I can't quite put words to, but it is SO interesting to see how it plays out. (Also worth mentioning though, I feel, Alfonse and Sharena wanted to join the order not as royalty but as themselves, as people. What they stand for, believe in, and want for the future, ect -- so their status doesn't always play a huge role, but, you can't erase it completely, esppp as they ARE the prince and princess Of Askr)
AND ALSO. All that said, Alfonse isn't afraid to call Anna out when he feels her schemes are getting slightly unethical LMFAO. Despite each of their status/titles/roles, they do feel like they're on equal footing. And with Sharena, her relationship with Anna is very friendly -- but I feel like that's also just how Sharena is LMFAO.
In my head though, the way I see it, each of their relationships with Anna do feel professional in nature? Which isn't to say it can't be personal as well, I do think each have bonds with each other. But espp when I've revisited Book 1, I got the sense that Anna is more of a boss and mentor to the siblings -- esppp when Sharena starts crying recalling the disappearance of Zacharias, Anna is quick to resolve it in a professional way and also take the responsibility she felt as the commander to all three of them (WHICH. ALSO. WILD TO THINK ABOUT. Like what IS the timeline here???? I WANT TO KNOW SO BAD.)
(also also that moment Was from Book 1, so maybe I'm not accounting for character development here, I only revisit books when I'm feeling VERY autistic about something specific in particular LMFAOO)
AND HONESTLY IF I. THINK TOO MUCH ABOUT THAT I go insane, like. I know it's just a consequence of Zenith being In A Mobile Gacha Game, and the point isn't really the world of Zenith itself it's to get all the guys from the mainline games to make money LMFAOO BUT. Askr feels so lonely and empty, actually. Like I feel like we have a more fleshed out/more world building for Embla than we do Askr! A LOT of fascinating family stuff there actually. But in Askr it's just Alfonse, Sharena, their parents, and Anna. That's it. And honestly I HAVE to wonder, like! Where did Anna come from, anyway? I know each Anna has their own lore, so I suppose she could just be from Askr, herself. And I guess it wouldn't matter any which way, but I am just so. I WANT. LORE. AND TIMELINES LIKE. When did Anna become the commander. How long has she been the commander. You've given me a whole new thing to violently chew on wood over HAHAHAH

gunter slowburn fic excerpt ~ this is right after the events of the Vallite King when corrin's brought gunter back from the brink, and he's still touch and go in the healer's tents, only recently arriving back into consciousness.
naturally, ryoma decides to pay them both an unplanned visit.
unedited.
---
"Give me one good reason why this traitor is still breathing."
Raijinto was flickering rather ominously in the dim light, unsheathed.
"I wonder that myself." Gunter murmured soullessly, so quietly to be inaudible.
A holy rage-fire of possessiveness bubbled in Corrin's heart, and she took a step so bold toward Ryoma that he visibly blinked at her, distracted from his target.
"Please stand down, Brother. No violence, not here."
"... Right. Healer's tents, sure." To her greatest relief, he sheathed the lightning-sword instantly. Out of the very corner of her eye, she thought the old knight's lips twitched in grim humor at how meekly the samurai backed down.
"That still leaves the matter of this cretin." Ryoma's face hardened into stone when she bristled instantly. "Need I remind you he killed Scarlet? Almost killed you? Betrayed you? Almost killed all of us?!"
"I will talk to you about that, Brother." She tried to remain coldly diplomatic, biting down uglier words to match his shouting. "-- We will, I promise. Reparations will be made. But not now. Ryoma, he is recovering from death."
Corrin emphasized the last words with laced warning. Ryoma gave her a cutting glare in response. It was plainly written on his furious expression as to what he was thinking, only too polite and trained in Hoshidan stoicism to say it out loud.
He should have stayed dead.
"Dears, dears dears, if you are not a patient or a healer, this is not the time to be here." One of the older healers, a thin but severely dressed lady clapped her hands at Ryoma. The red-armored samurai all but jumped at the crack of sound, though Corrin thought it was more at the sheer audacity of his authority usurped. "You are disturbing our wards."
She didn't have to look at Gunter to know he'd be amused at the drama playing out by his feet, too. Corrin risked a discrete step closer to him, her hand searching for his, hidden by the bedside from the others. His immediate warmth from knobby fingertips that rubbed over hers soothed her like nothing could, and she stood a little straighter, her hand clasped in his.
Ryoma was muttering apologies that were trying not to morph into excuses to the healer, and the good lady was having none of it.
"Is this a mission critical discussion, fearless swordsman?"
"I-"
"Out you go."
"Excuse-"
"Yourself, yes."
