Sleepless nights

Summary: Tony experiences first hand what it’s like to have an infant child. Sleepless nights and constant crying

Tony had no idea what to expect when it came to raising a child, let alone an infant. Ever since Rose showed up on the genius billionaire’s doorstep a few nights prior, Tony had been trying his absolute damnedest to do the best he could in raising his child. He had a lot of help from Pepper and Jarvis seeing as he was a brand new parent and still needed to learn a lot of things, like how infants wake up every two hours of the night and need to be fed and held. Or that babies sleep an awful lot and just because they look like they’re not breathing doesn’t mean they actually are not breathing

There were definitely a lot of ups and downs that Tony was going through when it came to the first week of parenting. But nothing could have prepared him for the many sleepless nights. The nights that no matter how hard Tony tried, he just couldn’t get Rose to fall asleep. She would just wail on and on into the night without any rest. It would only end with Rose eventually crying herself into exhaustion and finally falling asleep in Tony’s arms much later than she was supposed to. And eventually after Tony settled Rose into her crib in the hopes to get some sleep for himself, he would only be woken up by Rose crying once again thirty minutes later

By the end of the first week, the tiredness and the constant crying were starting to get to Tony. He started to think that maybe he wasn’t cut out to be a parent. He couldn’t understand how other parents could constantly go through this every night. He was pacing back and forth by Rose’s crib, running his fingers through his hair as she wailed away. “Rosie please, go to sleep. It’s two in the morning and you gotta get your rest.” He pleaded quietly as he stopped beside the crib to look inside. Rose was banging her tiny fists against the bed, kicking at her blanket as she screamed and cried. Tony thought that maybe she would cry herself to sleep since he heard that sometimes you just gotta let them cry it out, but clearly that didn’t work. He didn’t know what to do and was at his wits end

Eventually, Tony gave in and slowly reached down into the crib, lifting the crying infant into his arms and cradling her against his chest. “There we go baby. We’re all good. Daddy’s here, daddy’s got you.” He whispered gently as he ran his hand over her back slowly, moving over to his bed and settling down on the mattress. He shifted a bit until Rose was laying down on his chest, he noticed her loud crying and slowly began to subside into quiet whimpers and hiccups. That was a good sign but he still needed her to sleep. He had tried almost everything up until that point to try and get her to sleep but there was one thing he hadn’t tried

Tony wasn’t much of a singer. The only time he ever really sang was when he was alone in his lab tinkering away at his cars. But for the sake of his sanity, even at the loss of his dignity, he was really willing to try anything at this point. If a lullaby helped put Rose to sleep he would sing to her every night without a care in the world if it meant he could get the sleep he needed too. So without any second thoughts, Tony took in a breath and began to sing softly to his daughter

“Baby mine, don’t you cry. Baby mine, dry your eyes.” Tony’s voice crooned softly as he ran his fingers over Rose’s back, taking notice as her whimpers grew quieter and quieter. That was a good sign. “Rest your head close to my heart, never to part. Baby of mine.” Tony soon felt Rose snuggling closer on his chest, one of her hands gripping the collar of his shirt as he decided to keep going. “Little one, when you play. Don’t you mind what they say.” Looking down for a moment, Tony noticed Rose’s eyes slowly starting to slip close, opening every few seconds as she tried to fight back sleepiness

“Let those eyes sparkle and shine, never a tear, baby of mine.” Soon enough Rose was fast asleep, and Tony couldn’t help but smile. He was happy to finally get her to sleep and also find a method to get her to sleep. In that moment, the doubts that were plaguing Tony’s thoughts all night had begun to dissipate. Maybe he was cut out to be a parent. After all, he managed to get Rose to sleep when he previously thought it would be impossible, he was honestly surprised that he didn’t try singing sooner

“If they knew sweet little you. They’d end up loving you too. All those same people who scold you, what they’d give just for the right to hold you.” As Tony sang he began to feel himself grow even more tired himself, actually yawning a few times between the lyrics. So he knew he had to wrap it up soon before he would pass out. “From your head down to your toes, you’re not much, goodness knows. But you’re so precious to me, sweet as can be, baby of mine.”

As Tony finished the song, he dipped down and pressed a light kiss to the top of Rose’s head before pulling away and settling down in bed. “Goodnight Rosie. I love you.” He whispered before beginning to feel his eyelids grow heavy. Knowing that he can’t fight it anymore, Tony gave into sleepiness, resting his head against his pillow as his eyes soon closed and he too drifted off to sleep, cradling his precious daughter close in his strong arms

Daminette (yes even i ship it)

In this AU it is totally different. Marinette is Tony starks Biological Daughter and peter is her brother. Marinette is Dating Damien and the justice league and Avengers are allies and agree to Marinette and Damien dating because both the teams adore Marinette and wouldn’t want anything harming her. In this Marinette’s friends are Aroure and Chloe. Peter and Aroure are dating and Chloe and Jon Damien’s bestfriend. Tony Stark died like the normal end game. It has been a year since he died. Tony Left one of his hand made sketching book half way completed with is project in it for Marinette, it was her only prized possession of her father. The next day would be tony stark’s death anniversary. Aurore, Chloe, Marinette, Peter, Damien and Jon Facetime every night.

Marinette was entering the class as normal with Chloe and Aroure. Aroure drops them at their class and before leaving glares at everyone and leaves. Marinette was walking to her seat with Chloe when she hears Lila say that she is best friends with Damien and Peter. Lila says “Oh they both are in love with me, they keep on fighting over me.” Alya replies with “ That is so cool girl, You deserve their attention” Marinette was furious and was about to lunge at Lila when Chloe stopped her and whispering to her “we will talk about this at night” Marinette nodded and went to her seat.

Time skip to lunch-----

It was lunch and both the girls went to find Aroure and tell her what they heard, she was furious but then calmed down. Then the lunch bell rang and all the kids went back to class. Chloe and Marinette were the last ones to enter class and when they entered the whole class glared at Marinette. they started screaming at her because they fell into lila’s another set of lies. Marinette was not bothered which shocked the class as she quietly went there. Then Alix, Kim, Nino and Nathaniel Went to Marinette. Alya thought they were gonna do something evil like trip Marinette or something like that so she smirked, but to everyone’s astonishment they apologized, Alya retorted “WHAT! SHE BULLIED LILA!! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT?!”

Nino replied “ Marinette would never hurt a fly, and even if she did she would never bully someone.”

Alix said “ Did you know Marinette helped me from stop getting bullied by the older kids.”

Kim said “ Marinette helped me from my abusive uncle.”

Nathaniel “ She helped from getting kidnapped, She dropped the guy in less than 20 seconds giving him a bruise on the ribs cheek and neck and left without a scratch” Alix and Kim turned to Marinette with their Eyes wide open and said together “You got to teach me to do that”

Then Alya looked at nino for an explanation.

Nino shrugged and said “ most of the class know I was in an relationship with a girl named Annie.” everyone except Adrien, Alya and Lila nod “ She was abusing me I did not tell anyone, until Marinette started realized the long-sleeved shirts and would jerk up every time she called me, well she is the main reason i am alive” he chuckled “Annie was going to hit me till i was unconscious but one day she was about o hit me with a rod when Marinette held the rod which made her to turn, i remember her exact words, she was doing the innocent smile thing and asked what was going on. You should have seen Annie’s face it was price less and one swing of Marinette’s leg and she was on the ground and Marinette threatened her if she came close to me, it took me a week to get normal with everyone, I did not want to show my parents or tell them anything about what happened, so Marinette being Marinette understood what had happened and calmed down. I owe her my life”

Marinette smiles “ i accept your apology Nino, Kim, Nathaniel and Alix, you all can sit with us if you want”

They rest of the day everyone glared at Marinette, Chloe, Nathaniel, Nino, Alix, Kim and Aurore who got to know about what happened. but Marinette stayed quite for the rest of the day. At night during the call .

Damien “ Angel you have been awfully quite today what happened?”

Peter “ sunshine did something happen in school?”

Marinette smiled softly and said “ no, everything is fine” yawns “ I am of to bed bye guys” She ended the call

Damien “Chloe did something happen in school?”

Jon “ babe?”

Chloe sighed “ call The justice leagues and Avengers”

They called

When they came Chloe said “She is sad about tomorrow, Can you all come to Paris to surprise her?”

They all nodded, they would do anything for Marinette, even if it meant facing their greatest fears.

TIME SKIP TO THE NEXT DAY-------

Marinette entered the class alone today because Chloe and Aroura had to do something important, she was a little suspicious, Marinette were an black long jacket and leggings and a black spaghettis inside. she was a mess her hair was in a messy bun and her nose was red saying she was crying all night.

When she entered class she saw something she did not believe...

There right in front of her was her Dads book that she got torn and burned in pieces, She saw the book and gasped, which got the classes attention, some snickered and some had a smug face, some avoided eye contact. she started to tear up and fell to the ground, the book was thrown towards her.

They heard the door open and in came the avengers and justice league, everyone was shocked and in awe, then they heard Chloe scream.

“Marinette!!” And ran toward her, the justice league and Avengers saw her crying and ran towards her. Damien ran towards her and hugged her. then Steve went and held her close. Everyone was shocked until Alya screeched

“Why are you hugging her?! she is a bully!” Lila’s sheep were all nodding,

Damien had to be physically restrained from attacking her, Then Alya said “You are here to meet your niece Lila right?”

That is when Natasha spoke “No, we are here to meet Marinette stark.” Everyone was shocked there was a silence, It was cut by Marinette screaming as her chest glowed and Tony’s Heart replica was there, That is when Steve saw the book. He was so Angry

“WHO DID THIS?!” his voice thundered as he picked up the book, everyone was angry when they saw which book it was. Everyone gulped. Marinette got up and slapped Alya across the face. Hard, then she went to Lila,

“Lila half of your lies will be fessed up since the justice league and Avengers are here!! You achieved what you want, made half of the class against me, great destroyed me, you did that just now. So you better tell me what you said to them that made them tear this book?!” She yelled Every one except Damien and Chloe flinched

“She said that you stole her book and tore it “ spoke Julika

“When did I do it?” She asked sarcastically,

“Yesterday night.” spoke up Rose

she laughed humorlessly which scared everyone

“I was on a call with Damien, Peter and Jon so I do not think it was possible.”

The class gulped

“Do you know which book this is?! Do you know why is it important?! DO YOU KNOW IT WAS MY DADS PROJECT?! AND YOU TORE IT?!” she yelled

1) Ruby Rose as Tony Stark / Iron Man (reasoning: weapons nut, expert inventor, red color scheme, main protagonist)

2) Jaune Arc as Steve Rogers / Captain America (reasoning: awkward blonde guy who is always trying to prove himself, forged his papers in order to get into Beacon, team leader of JNPR)

3) Weiss Schnee as Thor Odinson (reasoning: yes, I know that Nora is the more obvious choice. I went with Weiss since I felt that she fit Thor’s story better. Nora doesn’t really have good parallels for Loki, Sif, Odin, Hela, and the rest of the Thor cast. As for Weiss, she started out as an arrogant heiress with a terrible father and brother. She later lost her inheritance and was humbled by her experiences in Beacon and with Team RWBY. To me, her character arc fits Thor to a tee)

4) Yang Xiao Long as Bruce Banner / The Incredible Hulk (reasoning: prone to anger, known for brute force and punching. Also, since she’s Bruce, she would be close friends with Ruby, which could mirror their sisterly relationship)

5) Harriet Bree as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow (reasoning: if the Atlas Military and Ace Ops are S.H.I.E.L.D. in this AU, then I felt that a member of Ace Ops should be Black Widow and Hawkeye)

6) Clover Ebi as Clint Barton / Hawkeye (reasoning: if the Atlas Military and Ace Ops are S.H.I.E.L.D. in this AU, then I felt that a member of Ace Ops should be Black Widow and Hawkeye)

1) Mercury Black as Peter Quill / Star-Lord (reasoning: douchey guy who always feels the need to overcompensate. Hates his biological father)

1) Blake Belladonna as T’Challa / Black Panther (reasoning: daughter of Ghira, our T’Chaka. Her story is all about discrimination and finding a way to bridge the gap between humans and faunus. Technically, she’s of royal blood. She’s also part cat)

2) Adam Taurus as Erik Killmonger (reasoning: anti-human/pro-faunus extremist who is obsessed with Blake. His main plan is basically to kill everyone who he feels is a threat to his people. True, the origins of his obsession with the Black Panther is different in this AU but still)

3) Kali Belladonna as Queen Ramonda (reasoning: Blake’s mom)

4) Ghira Belladonna as King T’Chaka (reasoning: Blake’s dad)

5) Sun Wukong as Nakia (reasoning: Blake’s love interest. Don’t come at me Bumbleby stans, he’s a faunus and Yang’s already cast as Hulk)

6) Ilia Amitola as W’Kabi (reasoning: since she’s a White Fang agent, I felt that she should be the member of T’Challa’s inner circle who ends up siding with Killmonger)

7) Sienna Khan as N’Jobu (reasoning: this is to act as a parallel to her relationship with Adam. N’Jobu was Killmonger’s father, Sienna was Adam’s leader. Also, just like N’Jobu, Sienna was a radical who wanted to fight against discrimination towards her people)

1) Salem as Thanos (reasoning: main villain of the series)

2) Arthur Watts as Ebony Maw (reasoning: member of Salem’s Inner Circle)

3) Tyrian Callows as Corvus Glaive (reasoning: member of Salem’s Inner Circle)

4) Hazel Rainart as Cull Obsidian (reasoning: member of Salem’s inner circle)

1) Jacques Schnee as Odin (reasoning: Weiss’ father)

2) Willow Schnee as Frigga (reasoning: Weiss’ mother)

7) Lie Ren as Heimdall (reasoning: okay, to be honest, Ren is Heimdall mainly so that he can have some type of connection with Nora. In terms of personality, Ren is also stoic and honorable)

Stark Industries

1) Qrow Branwen and Summer Rose as Howard and Maria Stark, respectively (reasoning: going with the fan theory that Qrow is Ruby’s biological father, then it made sense to have Qrow and Summer as the Starks. Also, Qrow being Howard oddly fits if you picture him as a raging alcoholic who unintentionally neglects Ruby while she was growing up)

2) Penny Polendina as J.A.R.V.I.S. / Vision (reasoning: A..I. and android who is close friends with Ruby)

3) Pietro Polendina as Ultron (reasoning: okay, so this one is a bit of a stretch. Since Ultron is the “father” of Vision, then it made sense that Penny’s father would take this role. Just imagine that Pietro is a rogue A.I./killer robot made by Ruby and Yang in this AU)

4) Oscar Pine as Pepper Potts (reasoning: Jaune and Weiss have already been cast, so I guess this AU is a Rosegarden fic)

5) Coco Adel as James Rhodes / War Machine (reasoning: I was running low on characters. This is literally just because her main weapon is a minigun)

Other Major Characters

1) Raven Branwen as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (reasoning: so instead of Ross being Betty’s father, Ross would be Bruce’s father in this AU. The reason for this change is that I really wanted to include Raven in this AU and casting her as a power-hungry general chasing her daughter around the world in order to control the Hulk felt appropriate)

2) Vernal as Betty Ross (reasoning: to keep the General Ross-Betty Ross relationship to some extent, then Vernal as Betty made sense. Instead of being father-daughter, it’s “mother figure-daughter figure”)

3) James Ironwood as Nick Fury (reasoning: big military guy and the head of Atlas Military and Ace Ops)

4) Glynda Goodwitch as Maria Hill (reasoning: this would’ve been Winter...but I have Winter cast as Hela. So Glynda, being my second choice due to her past relationship with Ironwood, gets this role)

5) Neptune Vasilias as Jane Foster (reasoning: closest character we have for Weiss’ love interest. Don’t come at me Whiterose stans, Ruby’s already Iron Man)

6) Bartholomew Oobleck as Erik Selvig (reasoning: it’s mainly because he’s a professor)

7) Pyrrha Nikos as Peggy Carter (reasoning: warrior, closest character we have for Jaune’s love interest)

8) Saphron Cotta-Arc as Bucky Barnes / The Winter Soldier (reasoning: there was literally no other character who I could think of that could fit this role, so I went with Saphron since you have the sibling relationship element with Jaune. This is obviously not a romantic-Stucky interpretation, this is more along the lines of Steve and Bucky being spiritual brothers)

9) Ozpin as Stephen Strange / Doctor Strange (reasoning: Earth’s protector, one of the guys leading the charge against Salem. Also, Ozpin looks like the kind of guy who’d be a mysterious sorcerer)

10) Marcus Black as Ego the Living Planet (reasoning: Mercury’s estranged, biological father)

To the Anon who asked for this and to everyone who might also be wondering about my IronWidow / TonyNat fanfic recommendation... Gaaah. Listing down a few is a veeery difficult task. I have read A LOT of IronWidow fics - canon semi compliant, canon non compliant, and pure AU. According to fanlore.org, “Five Things... [or Times, or Reasons, or...] is a writing form or structure that requires a set of multiple scenes that are related to each other in some way, without necessarily being in the same chronological timeline.” This storied multi-fandom tradition in fanfic actually predates the internet, traceable back to at least 1981 and a Star Wars fanfic by Marcia Brin.

It’s quite nifty to realise that the style’s explosion in popularity was an early example of going “viral” on the internet. In 2001, a writer known as Basingstoke posted a Smallville story, “Five Things That Aren't True.” The idea took off, and she is now widely know as the person who started it all.

She was floored at its explosion in popularity, saying the fic was never meant “to be anything but a freshman effort....It staggers me that such a big thing grew out of such a little story.”

It’s also worth noting that, of course, the format has gone through all kinds of mutations, and we’re not limited to the number five. We’ve got a selection of numbers in this list, and plenty of 5 + 1 also!

Notes: Hey, so this is my first fanfic so I hope it isn’t terrible. I spent a long time writing this first chapter, trying to perfect it. I don’t make it super clear in this chapter, but this story takes place sometime in the near future or maybe in an alternative universe that has advanced technology than what we have today. I had cyberpunk aesthetic in mind when writing (i.e blade runner, cyberpunk 2077, etc.). This story won’t have humaniods or cyber enhanced people, but their will be biological and chemical experimentation involved. If you are uncomfortable with this then I suggest not reading. - Synopsis -

Heathens; this was what they called each other. People who didn’t fit into society nor were like other humans. A group of outsiders who had a plan, one that involved a naive and confused girl.

They were given numbers as names, but she knew them as NCT.

“We are the used and forgotten; you babygirl, are the innocent and brainwashed. In the end we’re both heathens to this unacknowledged dystopia.”

Neon lights, holographic billboards, and heavy traffic was all that you could see from the high level your room was on. Days were dull and desolate, while nights like tonight glowed fluorescent by technology and culture. Seoul had become the center for all advancing technology. The world calls it the future; where cures for fatal diseases would be discovered and life moved twenty times faster, it seemed. They call it: Neo City.

The alarm on the glass screen brings you back from your absent mindedness, alerting that it was time to leave for the fundraiser dinner. Walking away from the window and to the object mounted to the wall, you tap the glass and dismiss the reminder. You slip your uncomfortable heels on and check your appearance in the mirror. The sleeveless, cut-out dress was minimal yet elegant. The black material complimenting your skin tone nicely.

“You look stunning Y/N-ssi.”

“Thank you, Athena.” You reply back to the artificial intelligence system. Something the movies predicted, eventually the high class started living like Tony Stark with their own personal Jarvis. It was something that you found unnecessary.

Satisfied after smoothing your hair another time, you take the elevator down to the ground floor. A car was waiting for you when you stepped outside the apartment building. Rolling your eyes as you get in; you thought, “how typical of him”.

The fundraiser dinner was a get together for investors who were interested in your father's corporation, a research organization for cancer. Dinners like tonight were important, so you were told. It was to bring in new investors while also encouraging current investors to donate more based off of the newest research found. They were nothing compared to the annual gala your father holds for the corporation, which was his form of gratitude for his employees. As the founder's daughter, you were expected to attend all formal events.

The self-driving car pulls up to your destination and the backseat door opens automatically. You step out of the sleek vehicle and onto smooth, city concrete. Staring up at the tall building you get the feeling of déjà vu.

Always on the ground floor but never exploring what was above. Curiosity eats at you every time you go to one of these events. The opportunity to go next door and take a look upstairs in the labs was so close to you, yet so far away. You would get caught by security immediately.

You enter the reception hall that your father added next to the research center a few years ago. It was modern and expensive looking like everything else in the Gangnam District. The room was filled with round dining tables, all decorated with silverware, wine glasses, and floral centerpieces. Men and women were all dressed in formal cocktail attire, some being the company's staff but most were investors. You spotted your friend Yuri, a biochemistry research assistant, who worked at the lab. She smiles cheerfully when you step in front of her.

“Hey, are you excited for your trip to Japan?”

Remembering my planned trip abroad, my smile widens. “Very excited, it's going to be the first time I leave the country, the city even.”

It was true, you never left Seoul. Ever since you can remember, you were always sheltered from most of the world. Your father never allowed you to go past city boundaries; but you were an adult now, he couldn't stop you. So when the opportunity to go on a two week, college trip to Japan was available you took it. Your father was furious with you but settled.

“I'm surprised Minjun Choi-ssi is even letting you go. You're barely allowed to go to school, let alone out of the country.” Yuri huffed in annoyance. You two have known each since your first day of college. It was just a coincidence that she was getting her research experience time at your father's lab.

“He's just very protective,” you explain. Yuri's focus on your conversation was diminished and was now centered on someone else. He couldn't have been much older than you, maybe a year or two younger. He stands tall in his grey suit, brunette locks styled up and away from his pale face. He's stunning, you think.

Yuri must of thought the same thing because she turns her eyes back to you. This time they are filled with curiosity. “Do you know who that is?”

I shake my head; “No-” I turn my head back in his direction to see him walking our way, “-but he's coming over here.”

Before Yuri can do anything more than take in an anxious breath, the mysterious man is in front of us with a charming smile.

He bows to us in greetings. “Hello ladies, who do I owe the pleasure of meeting this evening?”

You grin, knowing your friend is probably too busy malfunctioning to answer him. “I'm Y/N, and this is my friend Yuri.”

He gently takes her hand and bends down to place a kiss on her knuckles. “It's lovely meeting you two. Yuri, a beautiful name for an even more beautiful girl. It means ‘lily’, yes?”

Yuri stands in a daze of fascination and a bloom of dark blush on her cheeks. Amongst it all though, she nods her head and smiles.

This makes the man's smirk widened. “Their beauty couldn't even compare. I'm Yoonoh.”

You quickly made an attempt to leave knowing you've became the third wheel. “I think I'm gonna get a drink at the bar.”

Yoonoh looks over at you, with his hypnotic smile still present. “I'll keep Yuri company in the meantime. I suggest getting the red wine, it's a special one tonight.”

He gives you a final wink before taking Yuri off to his table. Walking to the bar, your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Why did he say it like that? Shaking your head from your thoughts, you make it to the bar and order the wine suggested. You take small sips while looking at the large crowd of people; spotting your father talking to a young man with silver hair. He was shorter than most and currently laughing at, what you presume, was a joke your father just made. There's more young men here than usual, you thought. Were these men new staff or are they possibly chaebols? Your thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a deep voice next to you.

“Isn't it ironic that these people pour money into this organization even though they don't know half of what's actually being researched in the labs?”

You turn your head to the right to see the owner of the voice. Your eyes meet glimmering yet sharp, brown ones. The man in front of you is dressed in a black suit, the first few buttons of the white shirt underneath unbuttoned to reveal a silver chain underneath. His jaw could cut glass and his lips resembled the color of cherry blossoms in spring. His hair was stained bright red like blood, something that made you want to know who the hell this man was.

Not fully knowing how to comment; you stutter out, “I-I guess it's their blind faith. They believe this organization is going to cure cancer. If they see progress then, why stop?”

He scoffs before finishing his glass of soju. “It's easy to believe in a lie, little one. These days people want something to believe in. The promise of cures, tech innovation, the end of poverty and war are all just weapons used against us to keep the cycle of corruption going. Neo City is supposed to be the world's savior, but what if the people in it are the cause of our destruction?”

His words took you back by surprise but also made you curious. You've never known someone who speaks the way he does. He didn't view the world through rose colored glasses like everyone else. Who the fuck was this guy? Why was he here if he, seemingly, hates your father’s company?

“I have to go.”

You grab hold of the mysterious man’s jacket sleeve before he could leave, to his and your own surprise. “Wait…”

The red haired man gives me a warning glare, making me loosen my grip on him. “Sorry but, you never told me your name.”

His gaze drops from mine to the ground and he lets out a dry laugh. It was barely noticeable, because within seconds his eyes are back on you and he smirks.

“Taeyong.”

He was gone immediately after, vanishing through the crowd of who he called the naive and hypocritical. You couldn’t even spot his wine colored hair anymore. You turn back around to the bar and look down at the glass filled with red, smooth liquid. A reflection of yourself could be seen, one that was glazed over in tones of crimson. All the drink did was remind you of his words. Of the veil of lies he talked about. He couldn’t of been right. Your father runs a good company, your father is good. He adopted you as a child and raised you up, without a wife. Your father’s company makes cures, nothing else.

Not being able to stomach seeing red anymore, you step away from your wine glass and go to sit down at your reserved table. You wished your father had enough time for you to ask about Taeyong. Maybe he doesn’t even know who Taeyong is. Questions spun in your mind like a whirlpool, going over the same questions just to come up with another possibility. Your thoughts are put on halt by the tapping of a microphone. On the stage, behind the podium, in the center was the director of research for the Neo City's branch and company headquarters: Dr. Oh Daewon. He has been you father’s right hand man for as long as you can remember. There was something about the man that was always off putting to you. You could never figure out what it was, but you tried keeping as much distance from him as you could.

The doctor cleared his throat before giving the guests a forced smile. “Hello and thank you everyone for attending the investors’ dinner this evening. It is nights like tonight that aid our progress for the future. I would like to thank all the newcomers who are now joining us on this groundbreaking quest for a better human society. With the help of our international branches, the Seoul Mutations Division is just a few steps closer to a cure for cancer and alzheimer's. By creating mutations of different stem cells, we have discovered a revolutionary change in our trials. This could be the start of a healthier, stronger, human race. We are happy to announce that at this year’s gala, in two weeks, we will be presenting the final product that has been in the works for the past seventeen years.”

The audience applauded his influential speech, everyone except the young man with silver hair you noticed. Instead of a praising smile, he gave a stone cold glare at the doctor. He was unmoved compared to the people around him. He painted on the same expression on his face as Taeyong. Turning back to the front, you see your father replacing Dr. Oh at the podium. You only can take it bits and pieces of what he's saying, your mind was too distracted thinking about the list of questions you'd have for your father if he knew who Taeyong is.

Finally, your father's speech was over and everyone was welcomed to their entrees. You waited until your father was settled in his seat next to you to ask about the handsome red haired man.

"So, I met someone tonight I had never seen at one of these dinners before."

Your father hummed while chewing his kobe steak before swallowing. "He must be a new investor then."

You continue, "His name is Taeyong. He didn't give me his surname though, just 'Taeyong'."

"Ah", Father beamed. "That is probably Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul-ssi's associate. He mentioned that his associate would join the dinner at some point."

"Who is Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul?" You ask, the name being completely foreign on your tongue.

“He’s an investor, a very young one at that. He runs a business specializing in medical technology in Thailand. He’s interested in contributing to our Thai branch.”

You nod your head and continue to pick around your food, not having much of an appetite tonight. After a pregnant pause, your father sighs. "I think it would be best if maybe one of my men go with you on your trip tomorrow. For your safety."

You roll your eyes at this repetitive argument being brought up, of all places as well. "Father, I'm twenty-one years old. I don't need a babysitter."

"It's for your protection Y/N, you still need to know more about the world. I intend to give you a protected lifestyle for as long as I can. You are valuable to bad people."

Shaking your head, you throw your dining napkin on the table. "You've given me a secluded and sheltered life. I'm just now getting to experience things people my age do. I'm a grown adult now, I need to start making decisions for myself. I'm going without your security."

You could see your father physically holding back his anger, his ears started to turn red and his hand was balled up into a fist. You almost recanted, fearful of this side of him. When his eyes would grow darker and his mouth would turn into an ugly sneer. His expression took an unexpected turn though when he spotted Dr. Oh and his assistant approaching. It was like you could actually see the lightbulb flicker on in his head.

“How about you take Dr. Oh’s assistant with you?”

It seemed like you were never going to get out of this without him winning in some way. Your father gives the scientist the smile he gives when he wants something from his staff, already knowing he will get it because he’s their superior.

You move sideways to see the young assistant behind Dr. Oh. He was about the same height as the latter, his jet black hair styled up making him look more mature than what his actual age probably was. To you, he barely looked out of high school.

“Father, I’m sure Dr. Oh’s intern is my younger. How can he look after me if it will feel like I have to look after him?” You argue.

"Think of it as bringing along a friend, you two don't even have to talk to each other on the trip. It will be educational for him as well. If I remember right, Jeno is a first year at your school. I will ask a favor of the dean to add him to the list of students traveling." Father exclaimed with a triumph smile.

“What if Jeno doesn’t want to go? You can’t just send him to Japan without his consent first!”

“I’ll go…” All three heads, including yours, snap to the young man behind the scientist. He seemed unbothered by the situation, like this request was to go get coffee for everyone.

“Wonderful!” You silently glare at the younger you barely knew as your father spoke. “You will both leave at eight tomorrow.”

This was unbelievable, you thought. You were officially going to be babysat by someone who’s barely an adult. You didn’t blame Jeno, your father was to blame, but he didn’t help the situation by agreeing. You could of won the argument and would be flying with just your classmates tomorrow. Shaking your head, you lurch up from your dining chair and grab your clutch.

“I think it's time for me to return home.” You announce, bidding everyone a short bow before walking out of the banquet hall. The sharp, night, Seoul air brushes up your bare arms, sending uncomfortable chills down your spine. You shiver as you wait for valet to bring your car to the front. The wind is cut off suddenly by what you realized was a blazer suit jacket. Shocked, you look around for the owner of the jacket only to find silver hair and a dazzling smile.

“You should bring a jacket if you’re going to wear that beautiful dress, baby. It doesn’t accommodate the cold.”

His voice was sweet sounding, reminding you of lollipops. Something sweet and syrupy; if lollipops were melted down, they would be his voice. Although, behind the sugar there was a hint of mischief and seduction. Too much of him is an addiction, you think, he has the ability to rot your insides if you let him.

Shaking out of your thoughts, you stutter and hold back from a blush rushing to your already rosy cheeks. “Uh, thank you-” then you notice the invitation in the inside pocket of the jacket, “Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul-ssi?”

He gives you an impish smirk, “You can call me Ten.”

Confused, you question why he wanted to be called a number but never ask. The name oddly suited him well, better than his real name even. Ten was smaller than most men, his figure almost feminine in a way. Everything, from his nose to the fingertips of his hands were slender. He was somehow pretty and handsome at the same time. Elegant yet a sense of edge. Something though that Ten, Taeyong, had in common was that they were mysterious and obscure.

“Thank you, Ten.”

“You seem distressed,” he comments.

You instantly lie, not wanting your problems to be someone else’s. Especially a complete stranger’s. “I’m not.”

He hums soothly, “You’re lying, sweetheart.”

Looking up at him with anxiety, you knew you were caught red handed. You laugh lightly, just wanting to move on from the subject already. "Am I that bad of a liar?"

He moves closer to you, enough to reach out and tuck the blowing strand of hair from your face. "No, I'm just really good at detecting lies from the truth. Although, I myself would be lying if I said you didn't have stress written all over your face."

You return his smile slightly, not fully mirroring though. Looking behind you at the building next door again, it only clouds your mind up more.

"Do you ever feel like your life isn't in your control? That it's in someone else's hands? Just playing you like a puppet? And you're wishing to be released from their grasp, from their watchful eyes?" You look back at the unique man whose brown eyes have never left your own.

"All the time, Y/N."

There's a silent but not uncomfortable pause between you two. Nothing more than starting at each other and the black sky that's lit with neon.

Finally the valet brings around your car, apologizing for the wait and opens your back door. You hand the jacket back to Ten.

"Thank you for letting me borrow this. It was nice meeting you, Ten."

He folds the blazer jacket over his arm and gives you a warm smile. "We'll see each other soon sweetheart."

Give one last wave, you step into the vehicle, and tell the automated system you home coordinates. Soon enough you're rolling away from the silver haired man and towards your apartment. It wasn't until you were blocks away did you start to question.

First steps

Summary: Tony watches his daughter take her first steps

A/N: This is my first fic for my “what if Rose was Tony’s biological daughter” au. I was feeling sad and I wanted to write fluffy shit to feel better

Tony was working away in his lab, tinkering as he usually would do when he couldn’t sleep at night. But for some reason, he wasn’t the only one up that night. His eighth month old, Rose was playing around in her large playpen not too far from him. For some reason, the little tyke just wouldn’t fall asleep that night. And if she did ever go to sleep, she would only wake up about a half an hour later. So Tony decided to improvise

Whenever Tony would want Rose to go down for a nap, he would bring her to his lab and just tinker away with her in her playpen not too far from him. For some reason it always did the trick. But for some reason it didn’t work tonight and Tony just didn’t know why. He sighed quietly while Rose sat in her playpen making loud cooing and gurgling noises. With a quiet hum, Tony turned back to look at Rose in her playpen

“Why won’t you go to sleep, huh munchkin? Got too much energy in you to sleep?” He hummed as he leaned against the playpen. Rose only made a noise and reached out her tiny hands to him with a gummy smile. Tony couldn’t help but smile at that. He may have been tired but he wouldn’t deny that his daughter still managed to make him smile. “Come here you.” He said with a light chuckle as he reached into the playpen and picked up his daughter

“You know you’re adorable but you need to get some sleep, little miss. It’s way too late for babies like you to be up.” Tony hummed, kissing Rose’s cheek while he rocked her in his arms. But still, no dice. Rose only reached up with her little hands and grabbed Tony’s beard, lightly tugging at it. “Ah ah ah, that’s not where tiny hands go.” Tony told her as he gently took her hands away from his beard. Rose only giggled her childish giggle and began playing with Tony’s fingers

Knowing that there was no way that Rose was gonna fall asleep any time soon, he gently set her back in her playpen and went back to tinkering. But a few minutes into his tinkering however, Jarvis suddenly spoke to him. “Sir, you might want to turn around. There’s something happening that I think that you’ll find endearing.” Confused at first, Tony wiped the grease off his hands with a spare towel and turned around. But he dropped the towel at what he had saw

Rose had pulled herself up onto her feet by grabbing onto the side of the playpen and was now standing up on her own. She looked over at Tony and smiled before she began to take her very first steps towards him. Tears were already springing into the corners of his eyes as a wide smile spread across his face. “Rosie! You’re walking!” He exclaimed as he moved to the edge of the playpen. “That’s it, come to me baby.” Tony said as he held his hands out to her. Rose took a few more wobbly steps before finally falling into Tony’s open arms

Tony, of course, caught her and pulled her out of the pen, holding her up high in the air. “Oh munchkin, you took your first steps! I’m so proud of you!!” He exclaimed as tears of joy rolled down his cheeks. He then pulled her back and pressed kisses all over her face, causing her to giggle loudly. “Jarvis, tell you have all that recorded.” Tony said as he cradled Rose close to his chest. “Already have it in your Rose file sir.” Jarvis responded soon after. “Good.” He hummed before looking down at Rose with a proud smile. He then noticed her begin to yawn

“So taking your first steps finally tuckered you out, huh kiddo?” Tony mused as he leaned down and kissed her forehead. “Well, I’m tired too. So why don’t we both call it a night?” He hummed as he turned the lamp on his work bench off before walking out of the room with Rose still in his arms. He carried her up to his room and walked over to his bed. He gently laid Rose down on the sheets before crawling in himself and pulling the blankets over the both of them

As he settled down, he noticed Rose reaching out for him again. With a smile, he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her close, snuggling her. “Goodnight, munchkin. I love you so much.” He whispered softly to her, kissing the top of her head before the both of them slowly drifted off into a deep and peaceful sleep

New beginnings

Summary: Tony Stark, the man who runs the biggest weapons company in the world. A man notorious for being a gambler, a drinker, and a man who sleeps around. But no one ever expects him to suddenly become a father

A/N: So this is the official first fic in my “what if Rose was Tony’s Biological daughter” au, timeline wise!

It was another late night in Tony’s seaside mansion. These nights would come often to Tony. Nights where he just couldn’t fall asleep, so he worked away alone in his lab. Whether it was working on one of his cars or building random things just to make the time go by quicker. But there was one thing that Tony always felt on these nights that he would never admit to anyone aloud. But on these nights in particular, he was lonely. More lonely than he had ever felt before

Sure, Tony often brought home many girls in the past for one night flings, and that would often help his loneliness for a while. Sometimes he would drink until he couldn’t feel the old pang of loneliness anymore. And of course he had Pepper and Rhodey. But they wouldn’t usually stay long. So by the time the sun falls, Tony is alone once more. The only company he really has at that point is Jarvis, but to Tony, he doesn’t really count. He needed to be around someone else, someone who would keep him company, so he wouldn’t have to spend the rest of his nights rattling away in his lonely mansion home. But of course as the stories go, things were about to change big time for Tony

The sun had just gone down about an hour earlier and Pepper had said goodnight to Tony as he watched her leave. That same old feeling of loneliness began to creep up in him once more, so he decided to head down to his lab to tinker, just to get his mind off of it. But about an hour or so into his work, Jarvis suddenly interrupted him. “Sir, there appears to be someone at the front door.” Jarvis informed him. At first, Tony didn’t mind until he realized just how late it was. It was nearly 11:30 at night. Who could possibly be at his front door that late?

“Show me the camera feed from the front door.” Tony said as he looked up from the piece of metal he was welding. One of the screens on his nearby desk changed to a camera pointing directly at his front door step. He watched as a hooded person walked up to his doorstep with something large in their arms. The person soon stopped just outside his door and set the heavy object down before ringing the doorbell and leaving. Tony never got a chance to see the person’s face do to them being hooded, but he watched as they got into their car and drove off

Curiosity began to fill inside Tony as he stood up from his seat. He wanted to know who that person was and what they dropped off on his front doorstep. “Only one way to find out.” He muttered to himself as he walked out of his lab and upstairs to his living room. Taking long strides towards the door, Tony’s thoughts began to race. This kind of thing had never happened to him before, so he could only think of the possibilities. Taking a breath as he paused right in front of the door, he slowly reached out and opened the door

At first, Tony looked out into the night, seeing nothing but darkness. But when he looked down on the ground, he saw a large basket sitting on his front door step. On the lid of the basket was a small handwritten note, so he knelt down and picked up the note, reading it to himself

Tony

You may not remember me, but we met at a party around nine months ago. We were both pretty drunk and you brought me home with you to have a one night stand. Well a few weeks later I had found out I was pregnant. Throughout my pregnancy, I was having financial struggles and I’ve made some very bad decisions to get money that I needed. But now, it’s all coming back to bite me and it’s putting my your daughter at risk. I figured leaving her with you would be the safer choice. I hope you understand. I didn’t even get the chance to name her so, I’ll leave that decision up to you. You may not ever hear from me again so I hope that you’ll take good care of her. Goodbye.

A tidal wave of all different kinds of emotions were running through Tony’s head as he read through the note. Once he had finished it however, he felt three emotions all at once. Sadness, guilt, and shock. A lump began to form in his throat as he set the note down and slowly took the lid off of the basket. The moment he looked inside, it felt like his heart was doing somersaults in his chest. Sure enough inside a bundle of blue and pink blankets was a baby, seemingly no older than a few weeks. Tony could only look down in complete shock in awe at the little infant in front of him. That was his child, his daughter

Tony suddenly snapped out of his daze when the baby began to move. She was originally fast asleep, curled up tightly in the blankets, but was suddenly disturbed by the sudden light from inside the house shining down on her. She blinked a few times before yawning and looking up at Tony. In that moment, Tony felt something that he had never felt before in his whole life. A parental instinct of protectiveness washed over him and compelled him to bring the baby inside

So he did just that. Picking up the basket as carefully as he could, he turned and brought it inside, kicking the door shut as he did so. He brought the basket over to a nearby table and gently set it down. He then slowly reached into the basket and gently picked the baby, cradling her close in his arms. Tony had never felt this way before. It was almost like he already knew what to do

As he looked down at the little bundle in his arms, Tony began to feel a small smile spread across his face. His once cold and calculating heart seemed to be warmed by this little baby’s presence. There had been times in the past where Tony would wonder if he would ever be a good father. Given the fact that his father was terrible to him, he feared that he would turn out the same. But Tony was determined to never let that happen. He was gonna be a better father then his father ever was

Shaking the thought, Tony looked back down at the baby in his arms. “Hey there, little one. You don’t know me yet but, I’m your daddy. You don’t have to worry about a thing. I’m gonna take care of you, I promise.” He whispered softly to her, reaching his finger out and allowing her to wrap her tiny hand around it. His heart swelled in his chest and he began to feel small droplets of tears rolling down his cheeks. “For now, you need a name.” He hummed, mulling the thought over in his head of what to call her

As he looked down at her, trying to think of a name for her, it eventually came to him. “Rose. That’ll be your name. Rose Maria Stark.” He whispered as he looked down at Rose with a soft smile. After that, Rose looked up at him and he could have sworn he saw her smile at him before she eventually yawned as her eyes drooped heavily. From that moment on, Tony made a vow that he was gonna be the best father he could possibly be to Rose. He knew he was gonna struggle with being a new parent, but it was gonna be worth it. And finally after so long, Tony wasn’t gonna be lonely anymore
