It’s alright mama - Narcissa Malfoy

Your eyes shot opened as you heard a scream echoing in the corridors. You kept laying in your bed and listening to any strange sounds. When the scream repeated, you swallowed and got out of your bed, slipping into your slippers.

Walking out of your room, you already knew that it was your mother who was struggling at the moment. With your eyes closed a little because of how tired you were, you walked over to the doors of her chamber and gently knocked on them.

“Mum?” You whispered quietly. When another scream came and this time louder, you opened the doors and walked inside. Closing them after you had entered your mother’s bedroom, you looked at the bed where she was.

“Mum?” You asked softly again, jawing after. She was covered with the duvet and all you could see was her platinum blonde hair. She was shaking. “Mum,” you repeated once more and walked to that side of her bed she was turned to. When you saw that she wasn’t awake and she was sweating so much, you knelt down onto the floor, stroking her hand.

This seemed to wake your mother up. She flinched and immediately sat up on the bed. Realizing that her pillow was all wet from her tears, you knelt where the space on the bed was and looked at your mother.

“You had a bad dream, didn’t you?” You asked and when the blue eyes looked at you, you realized the tears in them.

“Yes honey, but nothing to worry about,” your mum waved it off and brushed her tears out of her face. You frowned and leant closer, crawling even closer to your mother to cuddle.

As soon as Narcissa realized what were you about to do, she opened her arms for you and let you fall into her chest. Resting her chin on your head, you could hear and feel her sob.

“What was it about?” You asked quietly, looking at the window.

“It was about dad,” your mother whispered and you closed your eyes. This wasn’t the first time this had happened and you knew that your mother wasn’t happy with your father. You saw her with bruises covering her legs and arms lots of times.

“It’s okay mama. He’s not here,” you said and softly pulled away so you would be able to look into her face. Your mother wiped her tears with the back of her hand and then smiled at you.

“Thank you darling. I am sorry I woke you up,” your mum smiled sadly and you smiled back at her.

“It’s alright mama. You’re okay. Dad is not here now,” you repeated yourself and you heard your mother exhale. It was from relief.

“I know darling. Thank you,” your mum told you and she caressed your cheeks softly. Seeing her swallowing hardly, you didn’t know what would make her feel better. And then you had an idea.

“What if we would watch some TV show or something?” You asked softly and then your mother chuckled.

“Baby, it’s a muggle thing.”

“But Hermione says it helps,” you shrugged and handed your mother’s wand to her. The blonde just smiled and she waved her wand, making a movie screen appear on the huge wall. “What would you like to watch?”

“I don’t know lot about movies,” your mum shrugged and you smiled at her.

“Hermione says that she had learned a lot from them. Let’s just pick a random one,” you said and looked at your mother. She was going through the movies she had found and through their covers. When she found one which was looking pretty good, she waved her hand and a Rosamunde Pilcher movie started playing.

“Come here,” your mum said as she had rested her shoulders against the headboard and you listened. Resting your cheek on her chest, you hugged your mother. Realizing that she wasn’t crying anymore, you smiled for yourself softly and dived into the film just like your mother had.

“Thank you so much,” your mother whispered to you during the film and you looked up at her.

“No worries mum. I’m here for you,” you whispered back to her and gave her the most loving hug you could. She kissed you into your hair and then kept whispering against your hair.

“I’m never going to leave you darling. I’ll be here for you,” your mum whispered and you swallowed hardly.

“I’m going to be here for you too mum.”

Love in the Villa is not going to become one of the classic romcoms of generations and there are Italian stereotypes galore. But Kat Graham is so talented and beautiful and Tom Hopper clearly came to match the energy of the film so ignore the bad reviews and give it a whirl if you like the genre.

Side note, Kat does deserve more diverse film offers. The scene where she is sitting at the kitchen bench in her pink negligee, her charisma and presence is off the charts.

Until one night, shes walking home and two guys jump her. Thankfully it turns out Adam follows her home every night and is able to beat up the creepy guys and take her home.

Although shes initially skeptical of his odd mannerisms and bashful nature, it isnt long before they fall madly in love.

Theres just one problem..... inside his chest is a ticking time bomb. A baboon heart!

Ok so i absolutely loved this movie. Great 90s romcom with a great couple in Tomei and Slater. The baboon heart storyline had me laughing a lot. Came out of nowhere and so was childish. And looking into this film after watching i see its original title was "the baboon heart". Jesus.

In between, I’ve been listening to the soundtrack of the Franco Zeffirelli movie “Endless Love” (1981) with Brooke Shields.

The pop singer Lionel Richie has written an eponymous ballad for the movie, sung by him and Diana Ross - thankfully not by his daughter Nicole and her BFF Paris.

I have attended my share of weddings where the song was used for the couple’s first dance. (Film composer Craig Armstrong’s score for “Love Actually” is a fine alternative.)

Jonathan Tunick has built an orchestral score around that main theme. It’s underscoring but done with craft.

I found no other soundtracks of Tunick who’s known as an orchestrator rather than a composer. (Orchestrators tend to stay in the shadow: the one exception I know is Conrad Pope who assists John Williams and writes his own scores.)

This was an incredible movie! C.S. Lewis spent much of his life talking about suffering and how God used it in our lives to bring Him to our attention. But then Mr. Lewis, after losing his wife, truly suffers and has to grapple with the reality of suffering, not just the theory of it.

I was amazed by how romantic this ended up being! Anthony Hopkins is so charismatic, even as the quiet Jack, and you can see him falling head over heels for Joy, even though it takes him awhile to admit it to himself.

Such a sweet movie, please watch this gem if you have the chance!
