For anyone who’s aspec and doesn’t know what term to use for someone they like because “I don’t know if it’s a crush or a squish or something else” then worry not and use my chosen term: POI which stands for Person Of Interest. It’s literally just someone you’re interested in in some way and I generally don’t specify which way I find them interesting because eh sometimes I don’t know and it’s easier to say POI. It also makes them sound like a murder suspect or something if you’re into that lol

LOL ig it depends on how you define the word. Definitely not in the typical/expected way, I don't think. For example I wouldn't ever want to actually meet Jerma IRL.. beyond like a 10 second selfie or autograph fan interaction type thing at least.

Mostly just cause I can't really form that kind of real attachment to a person unless I actually know them, and none of us really KNOW Jeremy. Just jerma985. That's a whole stranger!!

But I'm very much attracted to watching jerma content and drawing his likeness :)

How am I 21 and still trying to figure out what kind of attraction I feel to what genders? There's just soooo many variables... (eg. I think I feel no sexual attraction at all, but romantic attraction to all but I am not really sure?)

Questioning aspec culture is about knowing you're ace but since you haven't been in a serious relationship you don't know if what you feel is romantic attraction or aesthetic. Then when you read/watch romance stuff you question why it is necessary for them to exist IN EVERY SINGLE THING but at the same time enjoying the emotional closeness between the characters but being annoyed from the terms dating and kissing and WHY SEX HAS TO BE AN INSIDE JOKE EVERYWHERE. What is romance anyway, I don't get it.

It is the middle of the day. I cannot be thinking about how to structure the progression of romance plots in choice based games such that romantic tension isn’t so closely coupled with physical attraction

#emerald speaks #really what this comes down to. as an ace person. is decoupling physical attraction and romantic tension #where you can have physical attraction grow at a different rate than emotional intimacy #what if certain major player character choices in a main route could opt you in or out of a romance #could you work out such a system that a character can break up with you and cite a certain plot choice you made #and i want to be clear that i am not a puritan. it’s okay for characters to find each other hot #but i think in a lot of games with a blank slate main character there is a tendency to fall back on physical attraction *because* it’s the #one thing you can have in common across all personalities #a character may be attracted to different personalities for different reasons but they will prob find all of them aesthetically attractive #difficulty being that it’s a lot more variation to keep track of LMAO i don’t want to pretend i haven’t considered the mental workload #idk. much to think about. i’m absolutely terrible at original plots or i’d definitely have an IF draft by now
