ROD Loading Screen but I genderswapped the characters, drawing by me

So this is my first drawing on here. Not sure how often I'll post my art though, since I'm still working out a lot of things with my artstyle. Like, it's very hit-or-miss for me lol.

Anyways, I did like how this one turned out for sure, so I'm sharing it. I think both MC and Logan should have been GOC honestly. I like to think the f!version would be called Lola. Or Lois. Or heck maybe even just Logan, a girl being named Logan sounds pretty cool. Granted I didn't care much for the story either way, but if you know me well you know I'd have loved a genderswapped version of that loading screen.

Is anyone in this part of the Choices fandom still active? A lot of these posts seem a few years old but I decided to give this a shot anyway.

I just came back to the game recently after a few years (for RoD2 and Hero2) and found out Ride or Die 2 was cancelled ;-; It’s my favorite book on the app so I would love to interact with others in the fandom that want to talk about it (especially since Idk anyone irl that plays Choices), the characters, or what the plot could have been in book 2. this part of ride or die was so crazy to me because he was really willing to never see us again. he was ready to leave us behind and let us grow old without him and fall in love with someone entirely new and create a new life.

A = Attractive what do they find attractive about the other?

Logan adores her kindness and compassion and the way it manifests from simple kisses to all his cuts and bruises and scars to her leaving a snack for him to munch on for on the go, since he gets occasionally careless with his basic health due to his immense focus and devotion to his work. Some nights when it’s hard to sleep, she maps his body out with her lips and fingertips drawing lines to each point to form constellations on his body and he has never felt more cared for than in those moments. Other times though, he sees her compassion as a weakness that he fears will end her up in trouble. Just look at where they are now, up to no good and he claims to regret dragging her down with him, but there’s still that selfish side that rears its ugly head that wants to cling desperately onto them. He also adores the way her eyes light up when they see him and it feels like he can do no wrong in them, and fuck does he want to believe that. They’re so open and honest when her words can’t be, but he can’t blame her for that, because just look at him and what he’s done to get where he is. Logan also finds that when he looks into her eyes, it feels like he’s being stripped to his most vulnerable state, and feels the need to bare himself heart in hand for her. And if he’s not careful, he might just spill everything out to her one day, but some days that doesn’t sound so bad the idea.

B = Baby do they want a family? why/why not?

No, they’re too young and he doesn’t think he’ll ever be fit to be a father. Just look at all that he’s made up and has to offer. He can hardly understand why Brie is still there, clinging to him as he does with her after seeing all his faults and lies. But he’s grateful nonetheless. Also, considering his past with his own parents, he doesn’t want a repeat of it, despite abhorring the behaviour, but there’s a persistent voice in his head that gnaws at his insecurities that make him believe the worst of him, they tell him that Brie will see who he really is and scorn him, and that dashes any hopes of domesticity with her by insisting he’ll become no better than his own parents.

C = Cuddle how do they cuddle?

His preference is when they’re relaxing on a bed or a couch or even the back of his car where he can just lie down or recline back and Brie is on top of him. Her head resting upon his chest, listening to the beat of his heart and the stories it weaves based upon his thoughts. Sometimes she’ll prompt him as to why his heart rate has quickened, and they’ll converse. Other times, she allows him to think freely without her voice to fill up the space. Logan also enjoys having his arms encircle her in an embrace that he hopes conveys all the happiness he gains from having her near him in the least.

D = Dates what are dates with them like?

If he’s the one to set the date up, expect cars to be involved, typically. They can range from exciting to calming, depends where the nights take them. On the more thrilling side, they can go racing each other, the winner perhaps being treated by the loser to a meal of their choice, or a kiss or two, or even higher stakes and do a punishment for the loser, such as running around in their underwear while the winner follows them around in their car while a friend of theirs film them. On the calmer end of the spectrum, a drive in theatre date, but without a fight, a scenic drive that ends in a picnic at a remote location, or on the rare occasion, they’ll stay in and watch movies and shows in his loft as they gorge on popcorn and M&Mx.

E = Everything you are my ____ (e.g my life, my world…)

F = Feelings when did they know they were falling in love?

The boy knew he caught feelings by the end of their first date, when he saved her from the cops. He knew he was definitely into her when he brought her into his world and introduced her to his brother. He lost himself when he gave her his lucky charm. He fell when he allowed himself to get comfortable with the thought that this can be a forever now. It was a cruel thought, being happy that she had been effectively disowned by her dad and no longer could walk within the sun, but fuck is he selfish. She’s his first good thing, the outlier, a mistake that grew into more, a carelessly made by product of his mission, and fuck is he grateful. He’ll spend the rest of his life making it up to her if he can keep this forever. He has few forevers in his life, little absolutes, but if she could become one, he would wholly devote himself to her.

G = Gentle are they gentle? If so, how?

In those moments that a drop of a pin could ruin, he’s gentle to a fault with her, cradling her to his chest as he would her heart. His love is sudden but tender and warm, never wanting to overstep his boundaries; afraid she might cast him aside for his transgressions, even though he knows better that she wouldn’t treat him so cruelly. He always awaits for her words to prompt his actions, but his mischievous hands sometimes take ahold of him and he grips her a bit firmer but never enough to hurt her, ever, but enough to convey that he wants her in a greater capacity than he could communicate with his words.

H = Hand/Hold how do they like to hold? how do they like to hold hands?

With a gentle reverence as he brings her hand to his lips and gingerly kisses the back of her hand before trailing them downward to her fingertips and palms and finally the pulse of her wrist. The first gasp that he draws from her is a separate reward from the simple pleasure he gets from worshipping her as she does for him many times before.

I = Impression first impression/s

He thought she was cute in a nerdy way. Book smart, but not streetwise. He never would’ve expected she’d become his everything, his raison d’être. She made him reconsider his life philosophy and put them to the test time and time again with her relentlessly bleeding heart. The craziest thing? He might be starting to see things her way the moment their kiss lingers a bit longer and the way that he could still feel the lingering heat in his hands from her touch and the fact that when he closes his eyes, he sees her.

J = Joker are they into pulling pranks?

Yup, but they’re harmless, like switching their milkshakes so that he can drink her chocolate one in exchange for his empty one. The look on her face is hilarious and he apologizes to her with a kiss and a promise of a new milkshake, which they’ll share.

K = Kisses how do they kiss?

Like he’ll never have the chance to again. It sears her lips and scorches her soul all to say that he was here and not to forget him.

L = Little things what little things do they love/notice?

Her tiny smiles that appear when she solves a problem from her homework, or the satisfaction that appears on her face while using her brand new school supplies. There’s also the unbridled excitement that sings in her voice when she speaks about things she’s passionate about like her studies or her favourite shows or foods.

M = Memory their favorite moment together

Their first time together. It was at night after a day of strenuous work when everything was quiet. The rest of the gang had went to bed, leaving only the two of them up. It began with jokes that drew him to her side, and consequently, into his bed. The way that her body shone in the moonlight will forever be etched into his memory.

N = Nickel do they spoil? do they buy the person they love everything?

Logan is rather spontaneous in his gifts, such as surprising her with drinks from Starbucks that he thought she’d like, or perhaps something that reminds him of her or vice versa. They once actually went to a carnival together, and Brie was obviously enamoured by the grand prize for the basketball game, a big brown teddy bear. She said that it reminds her of him, because they both have brown hair and the bear’s bow is the exact shade of his eyes, which Logan laughed at, but was endeared nevertheless. As a result, he obviously won that bear for her, how could he not? He’s also the kinda boyfriend to surprise his girlfriend with the occasional rose or bouquet when the mood strikes.

O = Orange what color reminds them of their other half

He’s reminded by the particular shade of blue of her Langston sweatshirt that she wears like it’s going out of fashion. When he learnt that she had it since she was 13, he had laughed, because of course she had it for that long and still insists upon wearing it. Seeing the sweater though is bittersweet because it reminds him of all the dreams that she has struggled tirelessly to obtain and here he is dashing it to the floor by merely appearing into her life. However, it also reminds him of her determined spirit because she had the shirt since she was 13, and if that didn’t spell conviction, he didn’t know what did. And the fact that she ain’t blowing smoke from her mouth earns mad respects from him.

P = Petnames what petnames do they use?

He calls her “troublemaker” and “sparkplug”. The first one is a joke that she’s the more troublemaking of the two, which she digresses. The second one came up after he gave her his lucky charm and they made up. To him, she’s his lucky charm, too. Also, she can be spunky and feisty when she wants to be, particularly though when somebody gets in her face, like Colt, which sharpens her tongue and wit to form the perfect comebacks that have him reeling with laughter.

Q = Questions what are the questions they’re always asking?

“How’d he get so lucky with her? What’d he do to deserve her?” Those are the main questions that plague his thoughts in the middle of the night when he’s up.

R = Remember their favorite memory of each other

That night after the drive through mishap when she took care of him. He never felt anything quite like that before. Sure he has Vaughn but to receive care and attention from Brie is indescribable and unequivocal. They both hold such a significance to him but in completely different ways.

S = Sad how do they cheer themselves/each other up

Logan helps cheer Brie up by helping her forget about things - if she wants - by either going for a drive, kissing her until they can’t breathe or whatever she’ll ask of him. When he’s sad, he tends to go on a long drive as he plays old classics like Sinatra and Elvis and all the greats. He’s a bit of an old heart, which not many people know besides Brie and Vaughn.

T = Talking what do they love to talk about?

With Brie, not work. He talks enough shop with the crew. With Brie, he desires something outside of it, which has never felt so foreign to him and dangerous, but the more she speaks with conviction that there is more in stored for him, good things he can’t help but believe her and take the dive into the deep end. He doesn’t really have a favourite topic, but in general he just likes talking to Brie about anything, like upcoming dates, movies that he watched, or a cute dog he saw and got a picture of to show her.

U = Universe use a metaphor, what are they to each other? (e.g he was the universe, ever-changing and mysterious)

He was the ocean, welcoming but unforgiving. Capricious as predictable.

V = Very ___ they’re thoughts about each other (e.g she’s very smart, he’s very stubborn, they’re very annoying etc.)

“She’s very smart, so I don’t know why she’s still here, especially anywhere near me but I can’t bring myself to complain. She’s too good for me. (laughs unbelieving) She���s too good to me. God I’m lucky. Too lucky… (he frowns pensively then smiles softly) I feel like the luckiest bastard just being able to be near her… (shakes his head in disbelief) I can’t even describe how it feels like to be with her. (he sighs dreamily and then chuckles) I just… love her.”

W = Why reasons why they love each other

Logan: looks at Brie adoringly.

Logan, smiling softly: “Just… look at her…”

Logan got them jokes so he once said to her, dead serious face that she’s his nut to his bolt, and it had her on the floor laughing. He had an innocent expression on his face, playing it off as if he didn’t understand her laughter nor his insinuation; however, his smile gave way, and his shit eating grin gave him away.

Z = Zebra if they wanted a pet, what pet would they get?

A DOG! He’s always wanted one since he was a little kid, but they couldn’t afford one. They had strays back in Detroit that they fed when they came across them, but never one that became a permanent companion. Brie thinks an American Staffordshire Terrier would make a great companion for him because they’re loyal to a fault, and she thinks that Logan deserves someone to depend on and someone that won’t break his trust and will return his loyalty tenfold. Also, she jokes that they look alike.

rod makes me so so insane even all these years later. logan who believes the lie that he’s more cutthroat than he is, lying to himself that he’d cut and run when it was time, only to cling to scraps of affection. mona who doesnt carry the same defensiveness about trust that colt and logan do, who refused to let herself be tied down, taking the fall for a pretty girl once more, finally finding someone worth trusting. colt watching his father burn up and wish only that his son escapes a life he never knew any differently from, only for his death to solidify colt’s reclamation of it.
