I feel road trip whump isn't appreciated enough. There are so many avenues to explore: stoic whumpee gets car/regular sick while the van is packed with their found family, whumper shoves whumpee in the trunk, having to take care of a dangerously ill person at a rest stop for some reason. Plus, it's a great way to have whumpee and caretaker or whumper get to know each other better.
