Prologue
Chapter 1
I’m Not Your F*cking Maid
Chapter 2
The journey to the bunker was pretty uneventful, with Sam and Charlie chatting amongst themselves in the front of the car whilst both myself and Dean sat miserably next to each other in the back like a couple of criminals who’d been arrested. The chains on my handcuffs jangled as I rubbed my sore knuckles; the skin raw, bruised and red from either my own blood or - most likely - Deans. As I did, I could feel a red hot glare burning into the side of my face from the older Winchester, as though he was in disbelief that I even had the audacity to feel any pain or discomfort right now as dark red scabs formed on his nose and cheek. We pulled up next to the bunker, and I didn’t get much chance to look at the surrounding scenery as the moment we were parked, the golden retriever duo up front hopped out, slammed their doors shut and threw ours open, Sam gently yet firmly grasping my elbow and pulling me to my feet whilst Charlie did the same for Dean. We were marched into the building and we soon arrived in what I assumed to be the kitchen. Sam pushed gently on my shoulder, urging me to take a seat at the table to which I obliged with Dean following suit and taking a seat opposite me. We stared each other down from across the table for a few moments, the atmosphere growing thicker by the second as his brilliant green eyes pierced mine.
“Enough the pair of you!” Charlie exclaimed, throwing her hands up. “Look, I’ve got some things to say before we release you both back into the wild. It won’t take long,” she sighed and rubbed her temples. “I wanted to introduce you guys to (Y/n) because I thought you would get along! With your shared interest in hunting, bootcut jeans, rock music and most importantly - pie.”
Dean and I shot each other a quick glance before looking away again. Charlie continued.
“You’ve had one disagreement, and even though I was impressed by the performance it definitely didn’t warrant the carnage. You’re both adults, so act like it and stop bickering like children. You’re going to be living and working together now so you’re both just going to have to suck it up and move on.”
Sam stepped forward; “I agree with Charlie. (Y/n) you have no idea how much of a help you being here is going to be. We’ve been going around in circles for months and we really need a fresh pair of eyes. Plus you get free food and board, if that helps,” he grinned slightly trying to lighten the mood. I humoured him and softened my eyes, raising my eyebrows in acknowledgment to the pros of staying here.
“Right,” he clapped his hands together, “we’re going to remove the tape and you’re both going to be civilised. You promise?”
I gave Dean one final long, hard stare before nodding.
”Good,” Sams soft cool fingers grazed my cheek as he pulled up the corner of the tape, gently peeling it back until it was removed and I could finally take a deep breath. Meanwhile, Charlie approached Dean and in one swift movement ripped the tape from his mouth in under a second.
“FUCK!” He cried out as he tenderly touched his now extra sore swollen lips. I couldn’t help but smirk.
“Right, I’m going to go and get (Y/n)s belongings from the motel room she’s staying in and check her out then I’ll be right back with all her stuff. I’ll see you guys later!” And before I could even protest for her to take me with her, she’d turned on her heel and hightailed it out of the bunker, leaving Sam to undo our cuffs and set us free.
“That bitch,” I sighed, huffing a strand of hair out of my face. Sam knelt before me, that kind look in his eye ever twinkling.
“(Y/n) I promise you that you're safe here. It’s warded to the teeth and full of everything we need to survive. We’ve got you,” he patted my knee before taking my hands in his, using a small key to finally undo the cuffs right before they clattered to the floor. I leant down to pick them up, and by the time I’d sat back up to place them on the kitchen table, he was already beside Dean doing the same for him. His own cuffs removed and rubbing his wrists, he stood, looking from me to Sam a few times before speaking.
“Well I’ve already suffered enough today so I’m going to spend time coming up with a better excuse as to why I look like this,” he gestured to his beaten face and turned to leave, mumbling a quick ‘see ya later’ to Sam before leaving the kitchen. Sam stood awkwardly for a second, before declaring that he was going to get some lunch for everyone and also scurried away, leaving me completely alone in alien territory. I was still sat at the table as I began to look around.
This place was a dump.
How did these grown ass men live in conditions like this? The dirty dishes were piled so high that it was a surprise they hadn’t toppled over yet. Empty beer bottles cluttered the table and countertops, the bin was overflowing with bulging bin bags dumped right next to it without being taken outside and the smell was starting to make me feel a little nauseous. How does Sam expect us all to eat and live together in conditions like this? It was like living with a couple of wild animals. After a few silent moments to myself I released a breath I’d been holding whilst I pondered. I ran my hands through my hair and laughed at myself in disbelief. I’m gonna have to clean the fucking kitchen. Without giving it a second thought and running the risk that I’d change my mind, I scooped my hair into a high ponytail using the bobble on my wrist and pushed up my sleeves, finding a pair of rubber gloves under the sink. Let’s clean this bitch.
*
In the space of about an hour and a half (a gruelling hour and a half), I’d washed and dried the dishes, putting them away in their respective places, taken out all the trash and lined the bin with a fresh bag, scrubbed and disinfected every surface and had even mopped the floors. The smell of rotting trash was dissipating and the urge to claw off my own skin had gone. I’d propped the mop against the wall and stepped back to admire my hard labour when I heard a door open and close, the entering footsteps heading my way. Sam emerged into the kitchen, a stunned look on his face as he walked to the table slowly, placing about 6 bags of ‘groceries’ on its surface. His mouth opened and closed a few times like he was searching for the right things to say.
“You’re welcome,” I cut in, hoping to help him find his words.
“Yeah, thank you! I’m sorry, I didn't know what to say - you really didn’t have to do this. It’s embarrassing that you were even put in a situation where you felt you had to,” he grimaced a little, only now realising what a horror show it was that they were living in. “But seriously thank you, I really appreciate it,” he smiled and I couldn't help but smile back. Sam was sweet and easy to like - unlike his Neanderthal brother. I felt like I could trust him.
I peeled my gloves off, threw them in the bin and approached the kitchen table where Sam was pulling out a case of beer.
“Here, you deserve one of these,” he said, handing me one. The bottle was nice and cool on my hot fingertips, my warm skin instantly relishing the coldness.
“Thank you,” I smiled before popping the cap and taking a long, well deserved drink. I savoured the moment, genuinely appreciating Sam’s gesture. Although all nice moments comes to an end, and soon Dean was striding into the room bold as brass, seating himself at the table and helping himself to a beer without so much as a hello. It wasn’t until he’d drained half the bottle in one gulp that he realised the kitchen was clean. He grinned and looked at his brother.
“Hey, nice job Sammy! It looks great in here, I owe you one,” he raised his bottle as if making a small toast whilst Sam’s eyes flicked to mine.
“Uh, Dean… this wasn’t me. You need to thank (Y/n) for that,” Deans grin faulted slightly as he looked between the two of us before it returned. I couldn’t help but raise my eyebrows in suspicion. His forest green eyes pierced into mine as he almost purred his next sentence.
“Well, Sammy, it looks like we’ve bagged ourselves a maid. Does she cook too?”
I slammed my bottle on the table, much like I did earlier. Only Sam flinched.
“I’m not your fucking maid,” I snarled, resenting that shit-eating grin on the older Winchesters lips. He chuckled, the sound coming deep from within his chest as he rose to his feet.
“Sure thing sweetheart.”

Title: Home Pairing: Gen (Damien & Miranda) Word count: 1.7k Warnings: Major Character Death
Read it on Ao3!
My first Monster Prom fic! Sorry it had to be an angsty one tho ^^;;;; promise my future fics will all be much fluffier and much more comedic lol ;;; Also this fic is based on the event in Monster Camp where we got to see different timelines/alternate universes! I got intrigued by the one where Hell and the Merkingdom fell into war, and thus this fic was born :) (Also also I wouldn't mind writing a second chapter for this, if y'all are interested. Writing a part with Lucien's POV and then a funeral scene would be very fun to do)
Anyways, sorry for all the angst and death! I hope you can still enjoy the fic <333
“Come now Damien, your home isn’t much further.” Miranda was talking to him. How long had she been talking? “We’re only…one away from the Eighth Circle! We’ll be there soon, I promise.” She was carrying him, which was something Damien never thought he would say. His arm over her shoulder while she tried her best to help him walk. Where were her serfs? This definitely seemed like a job she would make her servants do, but here she was, doing a peasant's job herself. Damien would be proud of her if he wasn’t trying to focus on not bleeding out.
He vaguely remembered something about putting pressure on a wound to make it stop bleeding, or at least maybe make it stop bleeding as much, because it certainly wasn’t stopping. He learned it from movies, he thinks, many different ones blurring together, all with the main character or something pressing a hand against their wound while they groaned in pain, and Damien always trusted movies in what to do in emergencies. They haven’t failed him yet, but now he can’t help but wonder if there was something better to do, but it wasn’t like there was anything else he could do, or even Miranda could do.
Miranda didn’t deserve this. She was trying her best in a situation that she had no idea of what to do–hell, Damien didn’t know what to do, but the two had to keep pushing because Damien LaVey was a fucking quitter, and no way was Miranda Vanderbilt one either. They both had to keep going for each other.
“Once we get there,” Miranda continued, “then your servants can take care of you from there.” Damien was able to register faintly how her steps stumbled and slowed, and he had feeling it was because his own were doing the same. The young princess hadn’t ever had to carry a single thing in her life and now she was practically half-dragging Damien along, and he couldn’t imagine what was going through her mind. He could barely register what was going through his.
The burning that he tried to ignore was getting worse. Holy water did that to a person though, it ate away a demon’s flesh in strong enough doses, and the fish hook, one that was overly large and connected to a chain and used like some sort of flail, definitely was blessed and dipped in a good amount of holy water, because the second it had pierced his side, all he could feel was that burning sensation. Even after it was ripped out of his side, all he could feel was the liquid burning and eating away at him.
God fucking dammit, Damien just wanted to be home. Not in some warzone with Princess Miranda, who was trying her best to keep him alive and to keep him going. He craved nothing but to wrap himself in a blanket, eat some red savina peppers by the handful while rewatching his favorite episodes from Boo Paul’s Drag Race, and bothering his friends by texting them just to fuck with and annoy them. He wanted to be in any other situation other than this one, one where there wasn’t a stupid and dumb war raging on, where the Merkingdom wasn’t winning said stupid and dumb war, where he wasn’t dying out because of the fucking stupid and dumbass war.
He heard Miranda let out a squeak. He didn’t realize why until he noticed that he was suspiciously close to the ground. She was grabbing him by his arm, trying her best to pull him back up. And God did he want to, he wanted to get back up, because he was Damien fucking LaVey, and he wasn’t going to die pathetically in some abandoned wasteland while he bled out, he was going to die a glorious, fiery death, one where he got the last laugh and was victorious in the end, even if he did end up dying. He refused to die in this shithole, not like this, because refused for that to be the case. He was going to live, goddammit.
…So why weren’t his legs listening to him? Why wasn’t his body listening to him, because he was sure as fuck that he was using every fiber of his being to push himself back up and keep walking. But his body ached, he was tired, and he wanted to scream until his throat was bloody just so he could feel something other than his fucking gouged out side, but goddammit he was just tired.
“Miri…” Instead of a scream, it was a low whisper. Miranda’s nails dug into his skin as she tightened her grip into his arm.
“Come on Damien,” she said, doing that little cute thing where she would puff out her cheeks when she was angry or upset, “this isn’t a place fit for someone of your status to die. You deserve to die either in battle protecting your kingdom, or after you led a glorious era of prosperity and bloodshed.” She pulled harder on his arm. “So get up already!”
Damien gave a chuckle, only to wince at the horrible pain that shot through. He slipped his arm out of Miranda’s grasp to use both hands to press against the wound, which didn’t help much with the pain but he really didn’t know what else to do. Squeezing his eyes shut, he tried to focus on anything but the pain and nothing but the pain. A mix of warm liquid soaking his clothes and slipping through his fingers and the ringing in his ears made him unable to focus on a single thing. He could feel his eyes prickle as tears formed, because holy shit. He was really going to die here, wasn’t he? Like, actually die. Like, die and never come back. Like, never get to see his dads or friends again. Die, as in actual fucking death.
The blood stained hand was taken away from his wound, and the feeling of Miranda’s hand holding his own in an iron-clad grip made him feel a bit more grounded. He needed to keep going for her, because no one else was going to. He just needed to get the fuck back up and keep walking, for her sake.
“-Okay? Can you do that for me, Dami?” Fuck, Miranda was speaking to him. Her mouth was still moving, but he couldn’t hear a single thing, not with the blood pumping in his ears. Her face was laced with concern, but he just felt so distant from her that he couldn’t really register what she was saying or what she was trying to do. The squeeze of his hand grounded him a bit though, which was nice, Damien appreciated that, Miri’s hand holding his and reminding her how she was with him, how he at least still had her, and how she was going to stay with him until his final breath.
And she’s gone. What? What the fuck? No no no no, come back, she couldn’t leave, why was she leaving, no fuck please come back-
Damien’s empty hand went back to his wound. Eyes squeezed shut as he felt warm tears land on his knees. Her voice couldn’t be heard, not like he could really focus on anything anyway. But he liked how it sounded, even if it was hard to hear over the loud thump thump of blood and dead whitenoise that filled his ears. But now there was nothing, and fucking dammit he was going to die alone, wasn’t he? He didn’t want to–he still had so much to do–he couldn’t die, not now, not alone–he just, just–
He wanted to be home again. He wanted to be eating dinner with his dads, who would ask him how his day was and listen to whatever he had to say. He wanted Blue Dad’s bear hugs, even if they were embarrassing, they were warm, just completely enveloped him in what felt like real fucking love, and then Red Dad’s chuckles at whatever Damien had said and his affectionate ruffles of his hair. Damien wanted those back so badly why couldn’t he just have those back?
He couldn’t be alone; that thought kept running through his head, over and over and over and over again as he squeezed at his side even harder. He wanted to be home, with his friends. Where he could laugh alongside Scott, rob banks and party with Vera and Polly, poke fun at Liam for being a dork, totally win at video games against Vicky, Amira, Oz, and Brian, and just chill with Zoe and Calculester. He wanted to see Miranda smile again, like how she used to when everything was fine and they were happy. How she brightened over dumb art things that Damien didn’t understand nor cared about, how she gave an adorable laugh when something amused her and that beautiful glint in her eye that she got when she plotted the best way to execute her rivals. He wanted those back, to just be back with them again.
He just wanted to be home.
Home was where his friends were. Where they all were, all joking and laughing away. Home was where his dads were, where his makeup supplies were because he was going to pursue a life of cosmetics and his dads were going to be so proud of him. Home was where Miranda was, back when things were fine and they were happy and they plot assassinations of people who got in their way together. He wanted to go back to the way things were–he just wanted to go back so fucking badly.
But here Damien LaVey was, the Prince of Hell, reduced to sobbing like a child and clutching his side so hard his nails dug into the skin but nothing could compare to that sizzling, burning, flesh-eating feeling that racked through his whole body. Fearful of death, even though he laughed at its face plenty of times in the past. Alone. Pathetically panicking over the idea of dying, of being alone in his last moments. He was stronger than this, at least he thought he was, but now it was clear that that wasn’t true, because now he was diminished to a mess of blood and tears.
He used every bit of strength he had left to wait for a sign. To wait for Miranda to come back. Because even though she left, left when she said she wouldn’t, she would surely come back. She had to, she wasn’t abandoning him. She was coming back, he just had to wait a little longer.
Miranda never even came back before he lost consciousness.

Omg yes pls! I’d love to read Riven x reader ✨
Not so bad || Riven x reader
So I had a couple requests for a Riven x reader fic so here it is. Requests are still open so don’t be afraid to ask! 😊
A/N: I am completely against the whitewashing, racism, biphobia and fatphobia in the show so I’ll try to rewrite those parts as best as I can. Also English isn’t my first language so I’m sorry if there are some mistakes. 🧚🏻‍♀️
Summary : reader and Riven used to be friends before he became Alfea’s local asshole. Now the neither Riven nor the reader can stand each othe but what will happen when they’re forced to work together? (Reader is a mind fairy but with a twist kinda)
I listened to this song while making this in case you want to check it out while reading 😊
Tumblr media
Since the bounded ones had returned everything started to go downhill. The appearances of burned ones near the school were becoming more common, apparently a first year had murdered Farah’s assistant and now everyone had to have intensive training. Fairies were paired up with specialists to train and work together and out of everyone in that dammed school you have had to be paired with Riven.
To say you were absolutely fuming the moment you saw who you had been paired with was an understatement. There were thousands of students in Alfea yet you had to be paired with the one person you hated the most. Riven and you didn’t get along and everyone knew that. Although the situation with Riven hadn’t always been like that.
The two of you used to be pretty close during your first year in Alfea. Actually you were almost attached to the hip, always hanging out together. He tried to help you to control your powers and practice while you tried to help him to train. You made the perfect team, you balanced each other out. That was until he just decided that you were not worthy of his time anymore. It hurt like hell that someone you cared about just left you behind without an explanation.
Currently you were trying to defeat a burned one in the forest, your group had thought that if you split you’d have a better chance at finding the creature. You were looking around trying to locate the burned one. Riven had his back against yours while the two of you walked slowly in circles watching your surroundings. Suddenly you saw something move in the corner of your eye. You turned around as fast as you could and tried to focus on that thing.
Unlike other mind faeries your powers weren’t limited to feeling other people’s emotions, you were also a telepath. You could get into people’s mind, read their thoughts, control them you could drive them crazy if you wanted to.
“Riven, turn around!” You screamed as you were trying to get the creature to stop.
Riven turned around as fast as he could and launched himself at the creature. While he started fighting the burned one with his sword you were trying to get into its mind, blurry images and screams filled your own mind.
“It’s be great if you started doing something!” He was struggling to dodge the burned one.
“I’m trying!” You tried harder to push your way into the burned one’s mind. Right when you were about to get control of the creature. Riven screamed.
“Fuck!” The burned one had pinned him down and he had lost his sword.
You pushed harder, the images stopped and the screams had finally become silent, you got it. The burned one was about to slice Riven’ throat when you got it to get off him. You made the creature stand up, Riven was breathing heavily and staring at the creature until you made it rip it’s own head off.
Riven got up and started to walk towards you, you couldn’t quite read the expression on his face.
“It was about time, it could’ve killed us.” He was right in front of you but somehow his voice seemed like it was far away. Your vision started to become blurry. He was talking to you but you couldn’t hear him. The last thing you heard before fading was Riven’s curses.
The images that you saw while trying to get into the burned one’s mind kept replying in your head, they seemed like memories, human memories. The screams sounded as if it was trying to get out of there, screaming for help. It was terrifying.
Suddenly you woke up. You looked around trying to figure out where were you. Your vision started to focus little by little and you recognised your surroundings, you were back at Alfea but this wasn’t your room. It was slightly darker than you room, the silky sheets that covered you were black. Your eyes darted around the room trying to find anything that looked familiar until your eyes landed on the nightstand.
“Oh you’re awake, finally.” The voice startled you. Riven was leaning against the bathroom’s doorframe looking at you. “We completed the mission, you killed that burned one.”
“You kept it... why do you still have it?” You said as you motioned towards his nightstand. You felt him tense up.
“We have a couple of days to rest before the next mission.” He kept talking without answering your question.
“Riven” Your attempt to stop him didn’t work as he kept talking.
“You were too slow, we have to train more or we won’t be this lucky the next time.” He kept going on. “You better prepare for tomorrow, we’ll start at-“
“Riven!” You interrupted him. “Why did you keep this?” You said as you grabbed the frame from his nightstand.
The frame contained a photo of the two of you. Riven had his arms aground you as you rested your legs over his lap, your head rested in the nape of his neck and you were laughing hysterically at something he said and he was smiling brightly at the camera. Sky had taken this photo, you loved it so much that you had printed it and given it to Riven as part of his birthday gift last year.
“I just forgot that I had it.” He got off the door frame and came towards you.
“You’re lying.” You said looking at him.
“Stay the hell out of my head.” He said harshly as he removed the frame from your hands. “I just forgot to throw the stupid thing away.”
“Sure” Your eyes had started to water “I don’t know why I was stupid enough to think that you had a reason to keep it, it’s not as if you ever cared right?” You said bitterly while trying to get up.
That’s when you felt it, hurt. You hated this, he had no right to be hurt after all this time, after disappearing without an explanation.
“At least I deserve an explanation.” You turned around and stood in the doorway “Give me an explanation and I won’t bother you ever again.”
“There’s no explanation, I just got bored of you and went on with my life.” He said without even looking at you.
“Riven I’m a mind fairy, your bullshit doesn’t work with me.” You said walking back into his room towards him. “You want to get rid of me, tell me the truth and I’ll go.”
“For fucks sake.” He threw his hands in the air. “You got too close, that’s the damn problem, you got too close and I cared. Everyone in this shitty college spoke about it, they always talked about how you were one of the most powerful faeries here and you were waisting your time hanging out with me. It was just a matter of time before you realized that it was true, that I was just a disappointment that couldn’t even last 5 minutes without being beaten. If I left before you had the chance I’d save myself the heartbreak.” He finally looked you in the eyes.
You felt it, every emotion that he had been bottlening up inside all this time. You could feel his anger, his hurt, his sadness. It was overwhelming.
“Did it work?” You said as you took a step closer to him. “Did it save you save yourself the heartbreak?”
“No.” His voice came out like a whisper, if you hadn’t been standing so close to him you would’ve missed it.
You sat on the bed beside him. He looked at you confused, he thought that you would’ve left by now that you would’ve agreed with everyone else and walked away not wanting to waste your time any longer. Instead you were here, sitting beside him and giving him the softest look.
“I wouldn’t have done that you know? I wouldn’t have left you because you’re not a disappointment Riven. You work hard to get better everyday, you are loyal to a fault, you’re smart even if you don’t give yourself enough credit. Even if you act like an asshole sometimes you’re not so bad.” You said pushing his shoulder lightly “Besides, since when do I care about what other people say?”
He just sat there, looking at you. He couldn’t find any words to describe how he felt although you already knew that. He had opened up to you, told you about his worst fear and you stayed. Both of you stayed like that for a couple minutes, just letting everything sink in.
He was about to speak again when he realized that it was now or never. He moved his hand to let it rest on your face, caressing it, and started to lean in closer to you. He stopped when your lips were just inches apart looking at you to see if you were okay with this and when he saw you give him a small nod he closed the gap between your lips.
The kiss was slow at first, he held you as if you could break at any moment. Both of you tried to put your feelings into that kiss and it started to become more passionate. His other hand went to your hips as you moved so you were straddling him and moved your hands to the back of his neck. Soon you broke the kiss. He rested his forehead against yours as both of you breathed heavily.
“I’m sorry, for everything I did and for what I made you go through.” He said caressing your face.
“You should’ve talked to me instead of just pushing me away.” You said with your eyes still closed.
“I know, it became too much and I didn’t know how to handle it. I promise that I won’t push you away and I’ll make it up to you.” He said looking at you. “Can we start over again?”
“That would be great.” You said before kissing him again.

HYACINTHE | Chapter 1: Jaemin x Reader
Summary:
Na Jaemin is far from being your typical 20 year old. Instead of slaving through college, he wastes away his hours cracking safes. Weekends that should be spent partying with friends consist of illegal races on good days and small scale bombings on bad ones.
Na Jaemin is far from being average, unless you consider being a member of Seoul's top organized crime family normal.
There is no such thing as a sense of normality and peace in his trainwreck of a life, so when he met a barista who was brave enough to call out his dangerous taste in coffee, he was like a moth to the flame. Everything about her is normal, which means she is forbidden to him, in all sense of the word.
So why, then, does he always find himself in the front steps of her shop, breaking all his personal rules even if he wishes he could stay away?
A/N + Disclaimer: this is a side story to Black Daisies, my main mafia fic feat. 0T23. While the plot is based on the main story, this can also be read as a standalone fic. As usual, this is purely a work of fiction and in no way am I implying any member of NCT to behave the way I write them here. tw: crimes, heists, potential death, mentions of drugs and other illegal activities.
PAIRING: Jaemin x Reader
BLACK DAISIES MASTERLIST
___________________________________________________________
I've known him for almost a year and a half when it happened.
The small bell of the cafe's back door dinged so hard, I thought it would get ripped off from the wall. I looked up, eyes wide with panic and hands still wrapped around the cold corners of a metal tray when a head of jet black hair appeared on the entrance. It took me half a second to register what I was seeing before I found myself flying to his side in a heartbeat.
"Jaemin! Oh my god, what the hell is going on!"
My first thought was that he was injured. He was doubled over and I quickly hunched to his level so that I could peer at his face. He looked paler than usual, beads of sweat stuck on his forehead, eyes glazed with a slight look of panic as he tried to keep himself from falling over. I threw out my hands to hold him by the shoulders and that's when my gaze caught it; the small black package that he quickly tried to hide inside his bomber jacket before I could even fully see what it is. I didn't give it much attention back then—I was far too focused in trying to see if he was hurt anywhere to worry about anything else. When his gaze finally focused on me, I thought I saw guilt there.
"I need your help. Sorry, I don't know where else to go."
My brows furrowed together.
"What the hell is going on—"
He reached out for one of my hands helping him up and squeezed it tight.
"Please don't ask me questions. Just—can you trust me?"
"I don't understand—" my voice started to rise. Is he hurt? Bleeding? In pain?
"Please."
My lips parted then pursed again.
"Okay."
Jaemin tugged me closer to him and threw a panicked look outside. He then pulled me farther into the now closed cafe, back into the storage room, the location of which he shouldn't even know in the first place.
"Let me hide here for a bit. Just a bit."
That encounter was my second mistake since meeting Na Jaemin.
I should have asked questions.
Lots of them.
___________________________________________________________
The first mistake happened about a year and half ago.
"Welcome to Brick and Beans, what would you like to have today?"
I plastered on my practiced smile and looked at the stranger in front of me without actually looking at him. Working in the service industry sure does things to your head once you get used to it. Despite having to deal with people all the time, you also get to develop a kind of numbness and detachment to human interaction. A face just becomes a face, a customer simply becomes just another passing responsibility. I tried to blink a few times to make myself seem more interested on the boy standing in front of my counter, patiently waiting for him to give me his order so we can go ahead and get on with both our business.
"Uh… I'll have an iced americano. No water. Eight shots of espresso."
My lips parted and curled on the sides to give him my service smile. My hand automatically reached out for the plastic cups stacked on my side while my other whipped out the marker clipped on the pocket of my apron to scribble his order.
"That's one iced americano, no water, eight—"
I stopped and blinked once. Twice. My gaze shot up at the customer in front of me again and really looked at him for the first time.
"I'm sorry, that's eight shots of espresso?"
He nodded, seemingly unbothered by my question.
"No water?"
A slight shake of the head.
"...eight shots. Of espresso."
"Eight shots, yes."
For a moment we both just stared at each other. He was looking at me patiently, probably only slightly weirded out by my question while I gave him a look that's a mix of worry and disbelief. Working as a barista has exposed me to my own fair share of weird coffee requests, but this is by far the one that takes the cake.
I softly cleared my throat and turned my attention back to the words I was scribbling on the cup. As strange as it is, I really am not in the position to judge a customer.
"That'll be 4.50 dollars. Is that for here?"
"Make it to go."
"Got it. I'll get you your order soon…"
"Jaem."
I smiled and scribbled his name on the cup.
Foot traffic was pretty slow on the cafe so I was able to quickly finish the order on autopilot. As I worked on mixing, I found myself humming softly to myself, my tune shifting into short whistles every time I would dunk an espresso shot down into that cup. I didn't even realize that the customer didn't bother taking a seat on one of the empty tables, opting to lean on the wall by the side instead, hands shoved in the pockets of his jogs as his eyes followed me.
"One iced americano for Jaem," I called out and pushed the packed drink into his hand. He handed me his card and I quickly worked on swiping it.
"You sure like your coffee explosive, huh?" I shot him a question for the sake of making small talk as I punched some buttons on my terminal.
"It's the eight shots, isn't it?"
I answered by giving him a shrug and a smile.
"It's the first time I ever did one like it. I can only imagine how it tastes like."
His lips slightly quirked into a smile. A...really cute smile if I might add.
"Is there anything wrong?"
"It's really good."
"Sure, Jaem. I'm not here to judge," I gave him a wink before handing back his card and receipt. "Well, thank you for dropping by. We hope to see you here again." He took both wordlessly and slipped them on his wallet.
I was waiting for him to walk off with his drink with the practiced polite smile plastered on my face again. He turned, coffee in hand, took about five steps, before turning to me again. I blinked in mild confusion as he placed his cup back on my counter.
"Actually… I'll have it here."
___________________________________________________________
"I'm not going to try your death coffee, Jaemin."
I didn't look up from the page I was reading but I could feel it, that deadly pout and puppy eyes combo drilling onto the side of my head. I flipped a page of my textbook over and I heard a sigh come from the boy beside me.
"I bought it for you. You said you need to finish a paper tonight."
"I do. That doesn't require me to be awake for the next week and a half," I answered back with a quirk of my lips as I finally looked up to meet his gaze. We were seated at one of the far tables of the cafe for my 15 minute break, away from the handful of customers scattered on the smattering of tables and high chairs. This has become quite a routine already… but how it started, I can't really explain.
Ever since that first order, Jaemin had made it his routine to drop by almost regularly. At first the banter started similar to how a regular customer and his favorite barista would have, but since he would always come and visit during slow hours, we would always have more time for longer conversations. Casual talk turned into light-hearted jokes, and finally into a kind of banter that comes with familiarity with each other. Slowly, I came to know the complexities of Na Jaemin, and boy, is he an enigma and a paradox rolled in one.
You never really know what to expect with him. There are days when he would be a bursting ball of energy—most of the time when he would order his drink from hell—but there are also moments when he would be quiet and reserved. I found it odd at first, but slowly accepted it since it didn't really hurt me in the first place. In fact, if I am going to be completely honest, I find this kind of personality set working for me. Imagine gaining two friends, except they're only in one body.
But that's not the only odd thing in our dynamic, too. If someone would ask me now to describe the kind of friendship I have with him, I wouldn't really know how to explain it. We joke together, laugh together, sometimes even tease the crap out of each other like we've known each other for years. We work well together, but at the same time… I know almost next to nothing about him. I don't know his address, who his other friends are, if he's going to school or not… hell, I don't even know what his number is. Outside of this cafe and his regular visits, I don't have anything to prove that he actually exists. He didn't share, and I also didn't ask.
Until today.
"Fine. I'm just going to drink this then."
I gasped before shooting him a squinted glare.
"You are going to burn a hole in your stomach, I swear to god—"
He simply shrugged and made a huge show of sipping the previously untouched tears of Lucifer.
I reached out to tug at the hood of his jacket in an attempt to call him out when I noticed it. His hair was initially masking it at first but now I could see it in full view: a purple bruise just on the side of his eye, almost to his temple.
"Oh my god, Jaemin. What happened?" I asked in a hurry as I tried to take a closer look at it. His expression changed in a heartbeat as he realized what I saw and he quickly leaned back and pulled the hoodie again over his head.
"That's—it's nothing."
"It looks so bad. How did you get that?"
He didn't answer. His eyes avoided my own and his hand gripped the plastic cup between us a little bit tighter.
"Did you get into a fight?" I pushed, gently this time.
His gaze moved to meet mine again for a few seconds. It's obvious he was contemplating what and how to answer.
"Yeah… I got into a bit of a tumble with some friends."
I frowned and crossed my arms over my chest as I leaned back on my seat. He threw me a look that silently asked what else I want from him.
"Look. You don't tell me shit but at least I know enough to be sure you are lying."
Jaemin looked away and started tapping his finger against the table.
"Why are you… why do you even want to know?"
I looked at him incredulously for a few seconds before leaning over.
"Because you're my friend and I want to make sure you are okay."
"I am okay."
"Your black eye says otherwise."
"Come on, don't push this. Can't we be friends without," he waved his hand between us. "This?"
"Jaemin, I don't even know who you are."
That made him stop. He stared at me for what felt like a full half minute and that's when I saw it for the first time. The dilemma in his eyes.
"It was because of work…"
The look of confusion I made must have been so intense that he quickly tried to jump over it.
"Work—why, what do you—"
"I'm sorry, but that's really all that I can tell you."
The sound of desperation in his tone wasn't lost on me. He looked so torn that I felt almost guilty for pressing.
"Fine… I won't ask again… As long as you are sure you're fine."
He peered at me once more as if assessing if he was finally off the hook.
"So...we're still friends?"
"Huh?"
"You and me… we're still friends?"
"Uh, yes…"
The look of relief on his face made me smile despite myself. He caught it and he made it a point to answer it with his best eye roll.
"Don't laugh at me. I don't know how to do friends."
"You're so cute~"
"Shut up."
And that was the exact day I decided—I'm never going to let Na Jaemin feel alone again.

Long Nights
Word Count: 1883
Genre: Fluff I guess? A little angst if you squint?
Pairing: Wanda x Fem!Reader
Request:  Hi! How are you? I loved so much Oblivious and Your Wanda, they are both so amazing and I was wondering if I could request a fic? a romantic Wanda x femreader, something like Wanda recently joined the team and she doesn't like y/n because she thinks y/n goes clubbing too much with Bucky but the truth is that she was a winter soldier like him, so Bucky goes out with y/n at night to help her redeem herself and then Wanda finds out? Thank you so much and I love your writing!! - Anonymous
A/N: First request done! Thank you for reading and I hope this is what you wanted :)
“Long night?” Natasha smirked at your yawn, using two hands to hold her mug.
“Something like that,” you joked back, grabbing the freshly brewed coffee from her hand and taking a sip. You heard a light scoff and turned to see Wanda regarding you with an annoyed look in her eye.
“Sorry, did she make this for you?” You asked. You had a habit to just take things from the older redhead.
Instead of a response, Wanda rolled her eyes before making her way out of the kitchen.
“Did I do something?” You asked Natasha, who was still staring at the coffee you’d stolen from her.
“I don’t know, she’s probably just filled with teen angst still.” Natasha grumbled, grabbing a new mug.
“C’mon, Tash, that’s not really fair.” You told her. “She just lost everything. And she’s not a teen.”
“We’ve all lost everything, Y/N.” Natasha deadpans. “Twenty-two is basically a teenager, by the way.”
“Cut her some slack,” You laughed. “She’s probably still getting used to this place.”
“Whatever,” Natasha dismissed. “Steal my coffee again, and you’re gonna lose a finger.”
“You say that every time.” You laugh.
---------
“Buck, you ready to go?” You asked him, walking out to the common area. You were dressed in your signature black leather jacket and ripped up skinny jeans. Your staple, in a sense.
“Yeah, let me grab a jacket.” He clapped you on the back as he walked past.
“You’re going out again?” Wanda’s voice nearly startled you. She was standing in the doorway, her arms crossed.
“Uh, yeah?” Your response came out as more of a question.
“Figures.” She rolled her eyes, turning to head back in the direction of her room.
“Okay, why is she so upset with me?” You ask Bucky when after she leaves.
“How should I know?” He laughs. “Come on, we better go.”
It was a long night, trying to make amends for all of your crimes was difficult. Bucky understood, he’d been through pretty much the same thing. But that didn’t make it any easier for you to relive the awful things you’d done to people.
Especially when you arrived at the house of a frail old woman, who’s only son you’d ruthlessly murdered. He was her caretaker. So, Bucky helped you to do small things for her, paying for a nurse and grocery shopping. But tonight, the nurse looked at you with sadness in her eyes.
“She doesn’t have much time left.” She told you. “She keeps asking for him. I don’t know what to tell her anymore.”
The poor old woman had a multitude of illnesses, the most prominent being her dementia. So, hearing the old woman calling out for her dead son…. You weren’t exactly sure what to do with yourself.
“It’s my fault, Buck.” Your voice broke on the walk back home. “He’s the one thing she can remember and he’s fucking dead because of me.”
Bucky knew better than to interrupt. You didn’t see reason in times like these.
“I’m a monster.” You continued. “No matter how many people I help, it can’t erase the past!”
“No, you can’t.” He told you, knocking you out of your rant. “You can’t erase the past. That’s why you’re trying to make up for it. Paying for an old woman’s healthcare won’t bring back her son, you’re right. But it counts for something.”
“I feel awful.” You tell him. “I can’t get them out of my head, sometimes. Does it ever go away?”
“I don’t know.” His somber tone reminds you that he, too, is struggling with this.
“You can go back,” you clear your throat, “I’m going to take a walk.”
“You sure? It’s late.”
“Yeah, I won’t be long.”
Bucky squeezes your shoulder comfortingly before walking off in the direction of the tower.
You’re not sure how much longer you were out. But eventually, the crisp air was drying the tears on your cheeks and you knew it was time to get back to the tower. There was no point wallowing in guilt in the middle of the city.
“Back so soon?” Wanda’s bitter words stopped you in your tracks. She was standing by the sink, glass of water in hand.
“Not-” Your voice cracked. “Not tonight, okay?”
Wanda’s face falls briefly, her mouth opening like she wanted to ask what was wrong. But you were out of the kitchen before she could speak.
-------
You rolled out of bed late the next morning, cursing under your breath as you searched for some clothes to throw on.
“You’re late,” Natasha walked into your room, extra coffee in hand.
“I’m aware.” You threw your hair up into a ponytail, throwing on running shorts while Nat lounged on your bed.
“Clint’s already waiting for you.” She informed, picking up a book from your bedside table.
“Better not keep him waiting then, huh?” You mutter, taking the mug of coffee as you made your way out of the room.
“Bucky said you were out later than normal last night.” She said, giving you a pointed look.
“Natasha,” you warned.
“You know you can talk to me, right?” Her eyes are soft, face full of genuine concern.
“Yeah, Tash, I know.” You give her a small smile to soothe any worries.
“It’s about time you showed up!” Clint teased, tossing you a baton. Natasha squeezed your shoulder briefly before walking over to where Wanda was waiting for her on another mat.
The morning passed slowly, Clint getting the better of you more than not. You were tired and slow. The older man teased you relentlessly, poking fun and putting you on your ass.
But, at some point, as you picked up your leg to kick Clint in the side, you forgot to hold back your strength, sending the blond man flying to the side.
“Oh my god!” You heard Wanda exclaim as you ran over to Clint.
“Oh fuck, I’m sorry, Hawk,” you rushed out. “I wasn’t paying attention! I’ve just been so tired. Are you okay?”
“Don’t worry, I’m okay.” He chuckled, groaning a little as he moved to stand up.
“Are you sure?” You asked, offering a hand to help him up.
“Yeah, kid, I’ve handled worse.” He limped off the mat, leaving you to roll your eyes at his term of endearment. You were easily fifty years older than the man, but you still looked to be in your early twenties, which Clint loved to call attention to.
You heard a light scoff and glanced over to see Wanda glaring in your direction.
“Okay, what’s up?” You ask her. The attitude was getting old.
“You’re lucky this was just training! What if this was a mission?” She all but exploded on you. “You value a night out at some shitty club with who knows how many girls more than the safety of your team!”
“Leave her alone, Maximoff.” Natasha cut in from nearby.
“Why should I?” Wanda spits. “She clearly doesn’t care about anyone but herself!”
Natasha steps between the two of you, the only thing stopping her from defending your honor being your hand on her shoulder and a gentle “Tasha” as you pull her away from the brunette.
“You’re right, Wanda.” You nod. “There’s no excuse for causing harm to a teammate. That’s on me.”
Wanda simply rolls her eyes bitterly and leaves, muttering something about checking on Clint.
“Why do you let her believe that?” Natasha asks, exasperated.
“She’s right, Tash, there’s no excuse for hurting a member of the team.” You tell her.
“There’s a reason you’re out so late most nights.” The shorter woman reminds you.
“And Wanda doesn’t need to know.” You respond in the same tone. “Besides, she’s just being protective of Clint. You know how close they’ve gotten since Sokovia.”
Natasha just shook her head.
-------
“You’re seriously going out again?” Wanda’s jaw is clenched as she stands, arms crossed, by the door.
“Uh,” You stutter, “Yeah?”
“Unbelievable.” She storms off.
“She’s kinda cute when she's angry like that.” You joke with Bucky.
“You like her, don't you?” Bucky elbows you lightly.
“What?”
“That’s why you won’t tell her where you go.” He nods, putting it together in his head as he speaks. “You like her.”
“Hey, man, I don’t know about all that. She doesn’t like me though.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure about that.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” You grab his arm to stop him as you walk on the sidewalk.
“Why else would she care so much about you going ‘clubbing?’ She’s jealous.” He tells you like it was obvious.
“You think so?”
--------
When the two of you return to the tower, Wanda approaches you. She’s fidgeting with her fingers and biting her lip in that cute way she does when she gets nervous. Bucky claps you on the back, wishing you a good night, though the look on his face says ‘good luck.’
“Can I talk to you?” Wanda asks.
“Uh, yeah, sure.” You nod, expecting her attitude.
“Natasha told me.” She says.
“Fuck-”
“I’m so sorry for judging you.” She cuts you off, her words rushed. “Even if you were out clubbing, it was none of my business. I just.. I was so angry that I was so drawn to this person who didn’t seem to care.”
“You’re drawn to me?” You smirk at her.
“Unfortunately.” She jokes. “Please tell me you got more out of that.”
“Yeah,” You laugh, “I’m sorry for not telling you. I just… If I’m honest, I didn’t want you to think badly of me.”
“Have you forgotten where I came from? I don’t think I have the right to think badly about anyone’s past.”
“True,” you laugh again, “But I don’t want pity either, you know?”
“I don’t pity you.” Wanda says, her hand resting on your arm. “I admire what you’re doing. The way you’re righting your wrongs.”
“It's the least I can do for the pain I caused these people.” You tell her, dropping the eye contact.
 “Well, it’s admirable.”
“Back to this drawn to me thing-” you start.
“Absolutely not.” She pushes your shoulder gently, face burning as she does.
“You said it!”
“And we’re not going to revisit it.”
“I’m drawn to you too, if that helps.” Your hands find her waist, pulling her close to you.
“I thought we weren’t going to talk about it.” She remarks.
“We don’t have to.” You shrug, savoring the feeling of her hands on your shoulders, her touch light, almost hesitant.
“So what?”
“So, if you're drawn to me, I’m drawn to you… I think we both know what we should do now that doesn’t involve any talking.”
Wanda’s breath hitches at your words, her face mere inches from your own.
“And what would that be?” Her voice is quiet, eyes glancing at your lips.
“Well,” You start to lean in. “This whole drawing metaphor, I’ll go get some paper. You grab the pens.”
“You’re infuriating.” She giggles at your response.
“You like it though.” You tell her, finally leaning in. Your lips catch hers and she all but melts under your touch. Her lips are soft, plump. You can faintly taste her chapstick. She pulls back after a moment, resting your foreheads together.
“You’re right.” She giggles. “I do like it.”

put it all on me - steve rogers smut
The one where, after Steve fucks you in a bar, he takes you back to his room.
Warnings: Cum eating, oral sex (f), A LOT OF dirty talk, light degradation?, I don’t think so, but just to be sure, it’s just ‘cause Steve likes to tease the reader for her sexual desires, captain kink, talks of threesome, smut, p in v, doggy, face down, ass up, plot twist, poly!Steve, really dominant!Steve
A/N: in theory, this is supposed to be a part ii to this fic, hence the same title. But it’s easily read as a one-shot, so if you don’t want to read that little drabble, just carry on.
Tumblr media
Y/N’s P.O.V.
The first thing Steve did when he managed to get me inside his room was strip me completely naked, and after a few minutes of forcing me to endure his burning gaze on my exposed body, fall to his knees and pull me to accept his body between my legs.
“St-Steve!” I admonished, trying to get out of the position, knowing the cum he had deposited inside of me was going to drip on his face any second now. But all I got was a harsh slap on my ass, Steve’s blunt nails carving half-moon indentations on my skin when he secured my hips, making sure to push my legs as far away as they could get before he sat me down on his mouth. “Shit, Captain! Sorry.”
“You think you can pretend to be all coy and shy now, sweetheart?” He mocked, perfect soft lips already prying my lower ones open and he used his tongue to scoop up his own cum from inside of me, catching me by surprise. I was so surprised, in fact, that I lost control of my own leg muscles, and would have fallen face-first on the floor if it weren’t for Steve still keeping me up by his grip on my hips.
“You can’t play that innocent act with me anymore, princess. Not when you let me fuck you in a bar’s bathroom. Not when you were so eager to milk me dry.” I moaned just from hearing the good old Captain America saying such nasty things from between my legs. It felt like a dream - a dirty, too-good-to-be-true dream, and I loved every second of it.
On the off chance that this whole thing had been just a figment of my imagination, I wanted to make the most out of it. I wasn’t one for lucid dreams, so I didn’t know when it would be the next time I’d get this sort of fun again.
If it was truly happening, then, that’s why I needed to cherish every single second of this experience. There was no part of me that believed I’d be able to lay with Steve freaking Rogers again after tonight. This was purely the result of hurt ego and adrenaline that was most likely still running through his body from the mission he’d been on for the last few weeks. He hadn’t had a release in a while and it was purely the combination of luck and being in the right place, at the right time, that had allowed me to cherish this opportunity. I wouldn’t fake myself into believing any differently.
Steve hummed as he tasted the combination of himself and my wetness. It felt downright depraved, and it only served to get me even wetter for him. “We taste so good together, honey. I don’t think I’ll ever want to eat my cum without yours.”
What the fuck was going on? Who was this person? I just couldn’t believe Steve was actually saying stuff like that. Through the gasps that revealed just how out of breath that situation had made me, I forced myself to let out a raspy, “You do that often?”
It made Steve laugh, still otherwise occupied with licking my wetness away, sometimes humming in a way that let me believe he truly was deeply appreciative of my taste. “You truly have no idea,” he mused, only making even more curious.
Steve’s P.O.V.
Shit, she was perfect. I was so glad her little slip up had given me the perfect opportunity to rail her in the bathroom of that bar because now that I had known how she felt and what she tasted like, there was no way I would ever let her go. And I knew just who would love this development.
“When Bucky gets home, I’m sure he’ll keep my face stuffed in your pussy, licking our remnants to clean you up before he fucks you.” This was a calculated move. I knew exactly what I was doing as I said those words and pried her lower lips open with two of my fingers, prepared to feel her clench around my tongue as she realized what I was implying.
“B-Bucky?” She repeated, and I could only chuckle against her wetness as she writhed over me. So sweet, both in taste and in personality. I can see why he had fallen for her. Such a pretty little thing, so unaware of her allure.
“Oh yeah, darling. You have no idea how badly he has wanted you.” Finally leaving her pussy to watch her face as she tried to get a grip over what I was telling, I pushed two of my fingers in her hole, listening for the sopping sounds my thrusts made as I continued my taunts.
“He’s been talking about fucking you ever since you started working at the tower, sweetheart. I was the one who originally opposed it because I didn’t think you’d be up for the things we’d like to do to you… But tonight, you’ve gone ahead and turned the tables on me, haven’t you? Thinking I was the innocent one, when you’re always walking around so cutely in dresses like the one I ripped from you,” tsking, I continued, “He would have loved you in that dress, such a shame you won’t be able to wear it anymore. But I’ll buy a new one, and then you’ll let him fuck you in it, won’t you, princess? You’ll be our good girl now, huh?” I watched her orgasm hit her right before my eyes, grinning from ear to ear as I kept my movements quick and harsh against the spot that made her try to escape me. Shame, I’d never let her go.
“You’re aching for it, aren’t you, darling? Desperate to feel both of our cocks in your tiny holes, filling you from both ends. Maybe you’ll even take two at once, huh? Can’t wait to play with you until you’re so used to our cocks we’ll just slide right in, princess.” Now my cock was throbbing, desperate to fill her up with more cum so I could just lick it all off again later. So, albeit reluctantly, I got up and grabbed her by the hips, throwing her on the bed before turning her around and raising her fantastic ass up.
“I think I’ll fuck you like this again. Keep grabbing this ass so I can leave my mark in it, just like I left my cum in you.” I slapped it once, watching it bounce as my handprint quickly appeared on her soft skin. Then, I yanked her up by her hair, just so I could whisper in her ear.
“Beg me for my cock, c’mon. Beg me to fill this pretty pussy.” I loved how every little thing I did left her whiny and out of breath, not to mention absolutely dripping on my bed. Perhaps she truly wasn’t prepared for all we’d do to her, but I could see now that leaving her completely mad with desire was more than half of the fun.
“Fuck me, Captain! Please! Please, I need your cock. I need it so bad.” The pure, unadulterated need in her voice had me groaning, and I finally stopped stroking myself to push her down again before finally spearing her with my cock. It felt like ages since our fuck in the bathroom, and feeling her tight walls struggle to adjust to my thickness was torture in the best possible way.
“I can’t wait to choke you with my cock later,” I warned as I began fucking her. It didn’t take long for her arms to falter, and she fell head first on the mattress, but I didn’t stop, simply adjusted myself so I’d be laying on top of her.
“You say that like you’ll still want me.” I snorted, biting her in warning. Although I did understand where her insecurity came from, the idea of her being nothing more than a one night stand felt so ludicrous, it was impossible to keep myself from laughing as I secured her arms by her head, slowing my movements but deepening them.
“Darling, I didn’t watch Bucky cum over and over again while screaming your name only to fuck you twice and ignore you the next day. Oh no. This is how you’re going to be now, every single day for the rest of your life: filled by me or Bucky or both of us at the same time. So you better get used to the idea, and soon.”
I rested my chin on her back, softly running my fingers through her hair so I could keep it away from her face before I pulled her back for a sloppy, open-mouthed kiss. “You’re ours now, sweetheart.”

I don’t have a single clue. enjoy reading! It’s like everything happens in slow motion. The way Nikolai falls to the floor. The way the white fabric of his shirt slowly turns to red. And then your senses kick in, and you rush to his side.
‘Are you alright?’ you say as you drop to your knees beside him.
‘I’m perfectly fine.’ he groans, despite his wounds.
‘Don’t fucking say that. You got shot, you’re not fine.’ you harshly say, hastily moving so you can sit more comfortably beside him.
Despite his injuries, Nikolai still manages to raise his eyebrows at you.
‘Sorry.’ you say. ‘I didn't mean to sound harsh. I tend to say the first things that come to mind when someone’s hurt.’
You move to rip off a piece of the hem of your dress.
‘Already taking the dress off, huh? At least have a dance with me first.’ he says.
How could he possibly still flirt after being shot twice? You ignore him as you use the piece of your dress to bind his shoulder.
‘This might hurt.’ you murmur as you pull it tightly around his shoulder. You hear Nikolai curse, but don’t respond. Instead, you move to see to his stomach.
‘Where did you learn how to do that?’ he asks.
‘I live in Ketterdam.’ you simply say.
You look at him. Laying on his back, blonde hair a mess and the skin of his face slightly more pale. Yet he still managed to look good. You put the thought out of your head and focus on his wounds again.
‘I’m going to have to put pressure on your stomach, but it’s going to hurt.’ you say.
Nikolai motions to you with his hand. ‘Do whatever you have to do to stop me from bleeding out, sweetheart.’ he says.
You nod and lay your hands on his stomach, pressing down hard. Nikolai groans and his hand instinctively flies to lay on top of yours.
‘I must say, this is the most interesting first date I’ve ever been on.’ he says.
You briefly look at him before turning your attention back to his stomach. ‘Not a date.’ you say.
‘Really?’ he says. ‘Are you going to tell me you just wandered off to the garden with absolutely no intention of meeting a king?’
‘Sounds about right.’ you say.
‘I find that hard to believe.’ says Nikolai.
‘Don’t get me wrong, but I really meant it when I said I have no intention of marrying you or spending another minute at the palace.’ you say.
‘Such a shame.’ says Nikolai, groaning again when you put more pressure on his stomach. ‘You’re nice company.’
‘You’re only saying that because you lost blood and I’m trying to prevent you from losing any more.’ you say.
You turn to look at Nikolai, who still manages to smile at you. He opens his mouth to say something, but the sound of yet another gunshot drowns out his words.
‘Saints.’ you curse, when you feel the bullet hitting you in the arm. Despite getting shot, you don’t remove your hands from Nikolai’s stomach. ‘This trip is getting more and more interesting by the minute, I have to give you that.’ you say. ‘I’m used to being shot at in Ketterdam, but I thought the palace grounds would be different.’
You feel blood slowly leaking down your bare arm, like a warm stream of liquid.
‘I have to get help, but I can’t leave you.’ you say. ‘Do you have any idea on how to get someone out here without one of us leaving?’
As if they heard you, several people run toward you. You notice all of them wearing kefta’s, except for two of them, who wear olive coloured clothing. Though you don’t recognise their faces, you had heard plenty of stories from Nina about Nikolai’s triumvirate and his personal guards.
A woman in a red kefta rushes toward you. ‘What happened?’ she says, looking from you to Nikolai.
‘We just got back from a walk in the gardens. He was about to enter the ball room again, when he got shot.’ you explain.
‘I told you not to leave the ball room.’ she says, glaring at Nikolai.
‘Can you blame me, Genya?’ says Nikolai. ‘There was a particular woman who would refuse to stop dancing, she made it very hard to slip away.’
‘This is what happens when you don’t listen to us.’ groans Genya as she looks at his wounds. ‘Did you bind your own shoulder?’
Nikolai shakes his head. ‘Y/N did.’
Genya looks at you, the alarmed look on her face slowly fades and her features soften. ‘Thank you.’ she says. ‘We’ll take it from here. Did you see where the shooter went?’
‘The shots came from there.’ you say, motioning with your head to a line of trees behind you. Immediately, a woman in a blue kefta and the two people in olive clothing head to the spot you pointed to.
Genya looks to the only Grisha who is still there. ‘David, help me get Nikolai up. We have to get him to a healer.’ she tells him.
David nods and moves closer. You’re hesitant to remove your hands from his wound.
‘It’s alright, Y/N.’ says Nikolai when he notices your hesitation. ‘They know what they’re doing, and we have healers standing by.’
You nod at him and remove your hands from his stomach. Immediately, more blood starts to leak out of his wound. But David is quick to put his hands on it as Genya helps Nikolai to his feet.
Just as they start walking, Genya looks over her shoulder at you. She smiles at you. ‘You need to come as well, you got shot too.’ she says.
In all the chaos, you had forgotten you got shot as well. But now that you realise it, it’s like the pain you didn’t feel at first comes flooding back.
‘Right.’ you say as you follow them, wrapping a hand around your own wound.
You’re grateful to see Genya and David are leading you through halls far away from the ball room. Your hands are covered in blood, as well as one of your arms. And your dress is torn at the bottom, and also stained with blood. The last thing you wanted was for people to see you like that.
You soundlessly follow the three people ahead of you. You don’t even register the riches surrounding you, or wonder about the closed doors you pass. Your arm is painfully throbbing and despite your hand on your arm, you can still feel blood leaking down your arm.
Both you and Nikolai leave a trail of red drops behind as you walk. You’re feeling a bit guilty about it, but then you remember there’s plenty enough Grisha around to make the blood trail disappear in seconds.
Ahead of you, Genya and David lead Nikolai into a room. You follow them and see you’re in a room with several beds. One of them is occupied, but because of the curtains around it, you can’t see who’s in it.
Genya and David help Nikolai lay down in one of the beds, and a healer rushes to his side. You watch as they put curtains around his bed as well, giving him some privacy. You know you shouldn’t listen to them, but a small part of you can’t help but to feel worried. After all, he got shot right in front of you.
‘Ma’am?’
The sudden voice next to you startles you. You turn to see a healer looking at you.
‘Is it okay if I heal your arm?’ he says.
Once more, you had completely forgotten you got shot as well. You nod and allow him to lead you to one of the beds as well. You sit down and watch as the healer starts to work on your arm.
You’ve never seen a Grisha healer working up close. You’d seen Nina use her power, but she had explained to you that she was a heartrender, not a healer. You watch in amazement as the flesh on your arm seems to melt back together, not even leaving a small trace. No one would be able to tell you got shot.
After he’s done, you thank the healer and get up, moving toward the door.
‘Leaving so soon?’
You turn around upon hearing the familiar voice. The curtains around his bed had been removed, and Nikolai is already sitting up, looking at you.
‘I’m going back to Ketterdam.’ you say.
‘Well, then, you’d want to catch the first boat. Maybe avoid your father, I can’t imagine him being happy with your choice. Best to take the fastest horse we have.’ he says.
If Genya and David seemed confused or surprised by his words, they didn’t show it. You’re perplexed, but nod at Nikolai.
‘Thank you for the flower.’ you say. ‘And the walk. It was nice.’
With a last smile, you leave the room. You walk through the halls, trying to find a way out. It seems like whoever had built the palace, had designed it to be a maze.
You occasionally stop to listen if you can hear the music from the ball room. But the halls are quiet, aside from your footsteps. And the last thing you wanted to do was trace your footsteps back and ask Nikolai for a way out.
Ahead of you, someone walks around the corner. You recognise the blue kefta. She was with the other Grisha who rushed to Nikolai’s aid outside. You quickly walk up to her.
‘Hi.’ you say. ‘Do you know the way out of here? This place is a maze.’
She looks at your torn and blood stained dress. If she was curious, she hid it very well. You couldn’t read the expression on her face. Just as you think she might not even talk to you, she points to the hallway she just came from.
‘Down that hall, take a left at the end of it and then the second hall on your right.’ she says.
‘Thank you.’ you say, and you walk past her. You feel her eyes burning in your back, but don’t look behind you.
You follow her instructions, and feel relieved when you see the tall doors and the staircase that leads outside. Just as you start to walk down the stairs, you hear someone shout your name behind you.
‘Saints.’ you mumble to yourself and you briefly close your eyes in frustration. You knew that voice all too well. You turn around to face your father.
His face is reddened with anger as he looks at you, and he takes a few steps toward you.
‘Where do you think you’re going?’ he says, his words cutting harshly through the air. He then notices your ruined dress. ‘And what happened to your dress? That was expensive. Why weren’t you at the ball?’
‘I told you I didn’t want to go. Did you really expect me to stay?’ you say. You really didn’t feel like fighting with him right now. Despite not attending the ball, you were tired. You wanted to go home.
‘This was the chance of a lifetime! Don’t you see how ungrateful you are? Slipping away right before I was going to introduce you to the king? You could have married a king, and that marriage could have made me rich. Now I’m just going to have to marry you off to another merchant.’ he says, his voice growing louder with each sentence.
You open your mouth to protest, to defend your choices, but stop abruptly when you see someone emerging from the doors behind your father.
Nikolai had fixed his hair and changed his bloodied shirt for a clean one. If you hadn’t been right there when he got shot, you wouldn’t be able to tell he got hurt at all. He smiles at you before stepping closer to your father, who didn’t realise someone is standing behind him.
‘I’m afraid you can’t marry her off to a merchant, sir.’ says Nikolai politely. ‘I’ve picked Y/N as my bride.’
Your father turns around and the both of you stare at Nikolai with wide eyes. But Nikolai merely smiles at you and offers you his arm. ‘Shall we go inside?’ he says.
You quickly go over your chances in your head. If you would go back to Ketterdam, which you had wanted since you boarded the ship in the harbour, you would probably marry a merchant who would be at least thirty years older.
If you went with Nikolai, at least you had a chance to think it all over, and make your own decision. And your father wouldn’t be able to control your life, no matter how hard he’d try to.
Nikolai still holds out his arm to you, smiling at you. You look at his hazel eyes and nod slightly. You walk up the steps and lay your hand on his arm. Without even sparing your father a glance, you allow Nikolai to lead you right back into the palace you’d sworn to walk away from.

ALEXIS
"Tell me what you want, and I'll give it to you," Drake whispers in my ear.
"I want you, Drake."
"I should probably warn you," he says to me, placing feather kisses down my jaw, his stubble grazing my skin, "that I can be very bossy."
His baritone voice sends a shiver through my body.
"Don't worry about me, Walker. I can take it."
Drake smirks, and I yelp when he scoops me up into his arms and carries me inside his apartment. He sits me on the couch and suddenly drops to his knees, his hands running up my bare legs and parting them. He looks up at me as his thumbs slide over my inner thighs, brushing over the delicate skin, pushing my dress up higher and higher. His expression is wild with desire. I raise my hips slightly as he pushes the dress up, so it's bunched around my waist, and he slowly runs his finger over the top of my underwear, from the waistband all the way over the mound and down between my legs.
"I've wondered all night what you taste like," he murmurs, sliding his finger back up, pressing in at my clit. His hands firmly grip my hips; He lowers his head, pulls me toward his face, and I feel his wet mouth pressing against me, the thin barrier of my panties muffling the sensation just enough to drive me wild. I suck in my breath, my fingers going into his hair, while he runs his tongue over my clit, the pressure causing me to jerk my hips toward him.
"I've had enough teasing," he says, the vibrations spreading through me.
He pulls his face back for just a moment, long enough to slide my underwear down over my thighs until they're off me, then he's pushing my legs wide again, his mouth going in for the kill. Every worry, every horrible memory inside me gets lost with the wet sweep of his tongue. My mouth falls open. My God. He knows what he's doing. My thighs are already trembling. His mouth is so warm, so strong. He kisses me there like he kisses my lips, soft and gentle, then quick and wild, sliding up around my clit, then down inside me with a grunt. I can't contain my cry. It tears out of me, driven by the need for him to be deeper.
"You have no idea how beautiful you look right now," he whispers into me.
I'm exploding, wet, warm, pure fucking bliss. My hips jerk into his mouth as I spasm, my thighs gripping the side of his face, his stubble so beautifully rough.
He stands up and takes off his shirt; my mouth waters, and he kicks off his shoes, bends down to take off his socks. Takes a step toward me. My eyes follow his hands as they undo his belt and then the zipper of his jeans. And then his jeans and boxer briefs drop to his ankles. Holy fuck, he's hot. Ripped and manly. Huge. I've never been with someone like him.
With trembling fingers, I take off my dress and bra as he inspects every square inch of my body, making me feel incredibly vulnerable.
"Jesus." He steps forward and trails his fingers up and down my bare arms. "You're so fucking gorgeous," he says, kissing my shoulders, my breasts.
He pushes a book off of the couch and then turns me around, placing his hand between my shoulders and shoving me down, so I'm on the couch on my knees.
"Hands up, against the wall," he says from behind me, his voice extra rough, almost feral. I've never been so excited before. I put my hands up so they're pressing against the wall, just as his hand curls around the small of my waist. His touch is electric, especially over my hyper-sensitive skin.
"Spread your legs for me, beautiful," he groans, and I hear his teeth opening the condom wrapper.
"I'll fuck you for hours," he murmurs, mouth now at my ear. His voice is rough with need. "I'll make you come over and over until you can't walk, can't talk, can't see anything but stars. But right now, I need to come inside you. And I'm going to do it fast and hard. Get that, Lexie?"
I nod, trying to swallow.
"Good girl," he says, straightening up. He caresses my ass and slams himself into me. All the air is pushed from my lungs, and I bend a little more, trying to accommodate his size. His cock is in so deep I'm not sure where I end, and he begins. Then he starts working me, his fingers pressing so hard into my side that I think he's leaving bruises, holding me steady as he fucks me hard. There isn't anything in the world but this. He grinds into me, over and over, his hips jerking against my skin. His frantic thrusting is measured, his hips circling just enough to slide against every part of me—faster, harder, deeper.
"Fuck. Fuck, Lexie. This is ..." He doesn't finish his sentence. His grip tightens around my waist. I feel him everywhere, like he's filling me up in every way.
"So wet … so tight, baby." Just then, his cock hits the right spot until I catch fire and burn inside out. I've never felt this before. This pleasure, this passion.
"Right there. Don't stop!"
"Not even close to stopping," he grunts. He thrusts even deeper, watching my back arch into him with overwhelming pleasure.
It's a curious thing to have a one-night stand with a stranger. You've known each other for only a few hours, and then you decide to share something that leaves you so vulnerable. When I turn my neck and stare into Drake's deliciously wicked deep-brown eyes, there's a sort of freedom I've never enjoyed in bed before. He makes me feel safe and powerful.
Then as he starts to tense, his breath becoming hoarse, a drop of sweat falling from his face and onto my neck, he slides his hand over the front of my skirt and below, finding my clit. A rub from his thumb is all I need to come, and it's not just the intensity of the orgasm that rips through me, causing my body to spasm and shake. It's the intensity of us. Of Drake, as he groans into my shoulder with one final thrust, his cock twitching.
Several positions and many orgasms later, we fall together into his bed, exhausted. True to his word, Drake took his time with me after the first time. Going slow, kissing every inch of my skin.
He gets up from the bed to throw away our last condom; I contemplate leaving. I don't know how to behave, it's the first time I’ve had a one-night stand, and I don't want to act clingy or emotional.
"How are you feeling, Lex?" he murmurs when he comes back before he kisses me, long, deep and sweet. And just like that, every worry I have is gone. I melt into his touch, into his arms, and I never want him to let me go.
Which is a fucking problem because I can't stay.
He scoops me against his chest, wrapping his strong arms around me. He peppers kisses all over my shoulders, my neck, my back. I let my eyes drift closed just for a second and fall asleep.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warmth engulfs me, every inch of my body is warm, and I nuzzle into the pillow deeper, wanting to stay like this forever. It's been a long time since I've had a decent night's sleep in a comfortable bed. However, as soon as I notice the room's complete darkness, my eyes pop open, and I start to panic, trying to remember where I am and how I got here.
There's a weight over me, and I feel suffocated. I force myself to take a deep breath, and I realize that I'm safe. I'm in Cordonia, thousands of miles away from him. Slowly, yesterday's events come back to my mind, and I realize my head isn't lying on a pillow but a firm, ripped chest. I glance up at the sleeping man I shared last night with and take in his harsh but beautiful features.
Drake's sleeping peacefully. His arm is still around my waist, holding me almost protectively. For a second, my heart flutters, and I allow myself to dream. What if I had met Drake instead of Matt? Even after only one night, I can tell what kind of man Drake is -- manly, confident, protective. I feel safe, cherished. But it can't be. Not now, or ever.
Gently, I untangle myself from Drake's arms. I gather up my dress and shoes and creep toward the living room. I order an Uber, and three minutes later, my phone pings with a notification that the Uber is here just as I reach the front door. I quietly open it, tiptoe out, and glance back at the house.
A deep sorrow overcomes me because I know that I will never be the same again after tonight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DRAKE
It's been three days since I last saw Alexis. I figured I'd feel differently in a few days. I'd forget the sweet taste of her lips, her delicate cherry scent, the sound of her laugh on my ears. Never did I think I'd still be replaying our conversations, jerking off every night to the vision of her body moving against mine. Fuck. Me.
Finally, I decide to go to the bar where we met. Despite the way she left --in the middle of the night without saying goodbye-- I don't want to ignore the crazy chemistry between us. I'm not an arrogant jerk; I know when a woman comes undone in my arms. And the way Lexie responded to me? It was fucking explosive.
"Why are we here? Li's dinner is tonight," Leo protests. I picked him up at his loft after work so we could go to Li's place together. In hindsight, he wasn't the best person to bring along with me, but I had to come to the bar tonight. I just need to see her. "Do you know how many women will be there? It's going to be a buffet, man." Leo insists as I park in front of the bar. I get out of the Jeep as fast as I can, so he doesn't follow me, but, of course, the fucker comes after me.
We walk into the bar, and it's as deserted as it was on Monday. The woman behind the counter smiles at us when we approach.
"Hi, guys! I'm Daisy. What can I do for you tonight?"
Leo winks at her. "I have a couple of things in mind, sweetheart."
I stare at him, and he shuts up. "I'm looking for someone who works here. Alexis Ortiz, she's a bartender."
She smiles at me. "Alexis quit this morning."
"Did she leave an address or a phone number?"
My heart sinks when the blond shakes her head. "She was kind of weird. She kept to herself." She looks at me and smiles again. "I'm free in an hour, though."
I don't want to be rude, but there's only one woman I want. "No offense, but I'm not interested."
I'm cut short by Leo, who grins at her. "You're embarrassing me, Walker." He gives her the same smile I've seen him give to a hundred women before her. "I'm Leo, sweetheart, and we're not free tonight, but I'll be happy to come by any other night."
She's grinning at Leo now, a flirty expression on her face. She sure moved on fast. I clear my throat. "Here's my card; if Alexis comes back, can you give it to her?"
She takes it. "Sure, no problem, but I don't think she will. She told Daniel she was leaving Cordonia and she wasn't coming back."

Writer’s Note: More Twice fics are coming! Along with a masterlist of all my K-pop fanfictions! It’ll take a minute but it will be here and pinned on my blog so you guys can access it. Also! I want to point out that this is fictional and fictional depictions of idols and figures, just wanted to put that disclaimer. Here is another fic that will take me forever to finish like my others but regardless of that, I hope ya’ll enjoy!
I never thought I’d set foot in South Korea again, let alone JYPE’s building. The long, stress-inducing ride up the elevator didn’t ease me as I inhaled and exhaled through it.
“You didn’t have to take this meeting,” Brittany, my assistant said. “We can just site see here in Korea, you need the break anyway.”
I caught Brittany’s smile as she moved to put a hand on my shoulder.
“I know being back here, it’s got to be tough,” she said.
I nodded, yet she doesn’t know the half of it. Being a military kid had some perks: at childhood I couldn’t stop dancing, and at seventeen, people other than my parents began to notice. Those people being K-Pop scouts. They didn’t only come from JYPE, but other companies as well, although the smaller ones didn’t grant the biggest opportunity.
JYPE was fond of my dance moves, and the man himself, Jinyoung Park promised a shimmering future. Most of the promises fell short: I didn’t get to train for very long (only a few months) before I was thrust upon the spotlight and cameras in the survival show, Sixteen. I wanted to be a star; JYP wanted a laughing stock, a black woman for views and to show his trainees how to accomplish, “ethnic hip.” I tried my best to be as creative as possible, to last with the competition, but it didn’t please JYP. Nothing I did could please him, I wasn’t the standard. I didn’t even come close. So I left, I played a game that many foreigners couldn’t win, let alone a Black woman.
The elevator dinged as it opened, breaking me out of my mind.
“We can turn around right now,” Brittany said. “Your call.”
I shook my head.
“No, let’s just here what he has to say,” I said. “He did pay for our flight and all.”
“Yeah, but that will never take back what he and that staff put you through,” she said.
I smile as Brittany put a hand on my shoulder. Her worrying along with me solidifies this; my nerves are warranted.
“I know, but maybe it’s just the old spirit from back then,” I said. “As if I have a chance to prove myself again.”
I don’t have to though. I told myself over and over again that I don’t. Yet, why am I here? What’s so important that couldn’t be discussed further over phone or video call?
“Ms. Y/L/N?”
My head jerked up once we stepped out of the elevator. A woman with a Bob and suit gave us both a grin.
“Mr. Park’s office is this way,” she said, leading us down the hall.
As we pass, people murmured and stared. My name was even mentioned underneath breaths and gasps; I nod at them and only bow halfway as we pass.
We stop at a door, the woman opened it for us and stepped aside.
“Thank you,” I said.
Once inside JYP’s office, the dread returned. Just seeing Jinyoung Park slumped against his chair brought back more of the horrid memories. Brittany took my hand, forcing me to take a breath as Jinyoung rose.
“Y/N! I’m so glad you could make it!” he said.
He threw his signature grin on, as he held out his hand. I took it. We shook hands before bowing respectfully.
“You look well,” he said. “I’m glad to finally see you again.”
“Thank you Mr. Park.”
Jinyoung chuckled and gestured to the seat adjacent to his armchair.
“Please, sit,” he suggested, he turned to Brittany. “You could take my chair if you’d like.”
I successfully didn’t shiver at how nice he was being, yet Brittany couldn’t: she twitched a bit, but hid it well with a quick grin.
“Thank you,” she said as she plopped down.
I leaned back, crossed my legs and got down to business.
“Why’d you fly me out here, Mr. Park?”
Jinyoung chuckled.
“Well, I’ve been keeping up with your progress as an artist and well, I’m extremely proud of the growth,” he said.
Brittany and I traded looks of confusion.
“Thank you,” I said. “You could have led with that over the phone.”
Jinyoung shifted on each leg before hopping up on the edge of his desk to sit.
“Y/N, I might have made a mistake about you,” he admitted. “You’ve gained quite the following, and shaped into a fine dancer and vocalist.”
“Thank you,” I said. “What is it that you need from me? Did I not show that potential five years ago?”
Jinyoung frowned.
“Well, yes, but the world wasn’t ready,” he said. “My colleagues weren’t ready, I wasn’t ready.”
“What are you suggesting?” I said.
Jinyoung bared his teeth in a mega-watt smile.
“I’m suggesting a place for you as Twice’s tenth member.”
My heart quickened at his words; Brittany gasped. Did I hear him right? One of the biggest girl groups in Korea--the world bringing on a tenth member? Another member is already controversial enough in the industry(with the likes of Red Velvet getting hate for adding another a year after debut), but an American? A Black woman? The netizens tore me to shreds once, I couldn’t handle that again.
“What’s the catch?” Brittany asked. “Out of all the contestants eliminated from Sixteen, why Y/N? This is looking rather performative Mr. Park, welcoming back your only black trainee who dealt with so much racism.”
Jinyoung’s eyes softened a bit.
“I’m still learning from my mistakes,” he said. “You have every right to decline Y/N, but I need someone to ease Twice in towards the west.”
“Why not Somi!” I said. “There’s your westerner, half white! Very digestible to the western world.”
Jinyoung nodded.
“True, but K-Pop is changing drastically,” he explained. “And I know Twice can hit the west hard, they can adapt to America with someone who knows it. You played against the American entertainment industry and I know you can with the girls.”
“How are you so sure?” I said.
“You catch onto choreography quick,” he said. “You’ve done almost every Twice cover online, you’ve been Grammy nominated for songs you’ve written it’s a perfect match.”
“What about stylists?” Brittany asked. “Have you even notified Twice about this offer?”
“I discussed it with their leader, Jihyo and she’s open to it,” he said. “I’m sure she can ease the others into it, I’ve already explained it to them that we’re working towards the west and they understand that.”
My mind spiraled at the thought of Jihyo; she’s come so far, they’ve all worked so hard. Me joining would just throw a wrench in all they’ve accomplished.
“All of this sounds great in theory,” Brittany said. “But I change like this could make you lose popularity here in Korea, with the Korean public. You’ll lose fans, they’ll drop like flies.”
Jingyoung shrugged.
“A risk we’ll take,” he said. “Y/N?”
Brittany gave me a sympathetic stare.
“If I do this, will I get legal protection against hate comments,” I said. “I would be one of your artists officially, you should treat me like one.”
“Of course,” he said. “Will you take these terms, Y/N?”
Brittany shook her head as she gave me a hard look.
I shouldn’t accept the terms. It’s just like five years ago all over again; I was tricked into becoming a prop of the industry, but somethings different. Jinyoung could go about various ways of doing this, I know I’ll have more benefits this time.
“I will, if I have a stylist of my choosing,” I said. “And an American manager.”
“Done,” Jinyoung said. “We can discuss this further, but I want you to meet up with the girls as soon as possible.”
My body shook at the mention of meeting up with Twice. They were my competition at one point, hell many of them I thought hated me. All except one,  Chou Tzuyu. She and some of the maknaes and I were close due to age, but Tzuyu opened up to me the most. She’s been through so much, they all have.
“Is there any way I can practice and get to know them again,” I said. “Before we start promoting?”
“That was the plan,” Jinyoung said. “You’d be new to the public and fans, but not to Twice. Like working with an old friend.”
Yeah, an old friend who’s forgotten about you and moved on with their life. This would benefit Twice and I, but is it worth the risk to see them again. To see Tzuyu again.
 *     *      *
“You’re sure this is the right move?” Brittany asked while our black car rolled down the street.
Right after the meeting with JYP, he insisted I settle into the dorms and meet up with Twice before training. Brittany and I are now in the back of a car with my new manager, Miyoung
“I’m sure.”
Brittany nudged me.
“You don’t owe him anything. Why are you doing this?”
I leaned against my side of the car, letting the rapid speed of each car flash and rip by while my eyes slip close. The memories from five years ago swarmed me: Tzuyu and I practicing from night to morning with sweat clinging to us like newborns; the constant words we’d trade about debuting together and visiting each others countries. Tzuyu’s distraught during my elimination, begging me to stay in Korea for her. Maybe I’m doing this to help her and be there for her, if she accepts me. I can’t admit that to Brittany though, relationships that form during adolescent years don’t really last anyway. At least from what I’ve seen.
The car came to a halt; we’ve arrived at the dorms.
I sat up, but sunk back down in my seat as I spot all of Twice standing outside, waiting with their managers.
“We’re ready when you are Y/N,” Miyoung said.
She and the driver already stepped out the car with expectant looks at me.
Brittany took my hand and rubbed my knuckle as I composed myself with a few deep breaths. The moment I stepped out, all of Twice cheered and hurried toward me. Sana was first of course, embracing me so tight that I couldn’t breathe.
“Y/N!” she squealed.
Nayeon hugged me next, then Jihyo, Chaeyoung, Momo, and Dahyun.
“Finally my fellow ‘98 liner is back,” Dahyun teased, making me chuckle as she lightened my mood.
Joengyeon embraced me a bit too tight as well, pulling back with a tiny grin.
“You look healthy, that’s great,” she said.
I nodded and glanced over at Tzuyu, who kept her distance. Our eyes met, yet she didn’t smile or come over for a hug like her fellow members. She only perked her lips and waved. I wanted to scream; I felt like crying but I managed to hold the tears back again.
Mina must have noticed as she wrapped an arm around my shoulder.
“Are you OK?” she asked.
“Yeah,” I lied. “It’s great to see you guys again.”

Stranger
I Know You
Summary - After that evening, the freckled face of that man was engraved in your memory. You hoped that you would meet him again and you do but not all meetings are pleasant - some reveal the dark secrets of life.
Pairing - Dean Winchester x Reader
Warning - Fluff, Angst (a lot of angst), swearing, 18+ SMUT, unprotected sex (wrap it before you tap it people)
Square filled - Showering together (implied) ( @spndeanbingo )
Word Count - 2.5k
A/N - This is the second part of the series Stranger (my brain hates oneshots). Prepare for the slow burn people.
The dividers are by @talesmaniac89 and the banner is by me.
A/N - This is the first time I have ever written smut. I have tried my best lol. Also thanks to @bucky--barnes because her fic Innuendos helped me a lot to write the smut part. There are certain parts in the smut that irked me a little while writing so I decided not to include those but maybe in the future I can write about those (I'm very new to this whole thing).
Okay enough of nervous rambling, just go ahead and read it!
Tumblr media
“This is the last time I'm warning you! Step away from the cake,” you yelled making your husband jump and drop the piece of the cake, “what did you do?”
“You shoufn’t haf yellt,” he spoke with his mouth full.
“Get. Out. Now,” you seethed as you examined the destroyed piece.
“I like it when you get all bossy,” he goes to grab your waist but you successfully dodge his hands. “Y/N,” he pouted.
“Those eyes won't work on me Mister,” you raised your eyebrow, “and I need to clean up the kitchen because your dumbass acted like a child.”
“I didn't.” He grumbled.
“Leave the kitchen now. Go check on your demon spawn,” you said.
“Hey, he's half yours.” He argued.
“He got all your bad qualities,” you smirked. Dean stared up at you with his green eyes and said, “maybe our baby girl will get your bad qualities,” he caressed your still flat stomach.
“How do you know it's a girl?”
“Father's instinct,” he said.
“That's called mother instinct-”
“So fathers can't have instinct?” He grinned.
“That's not what I meant, you fool,” you said.
“Uh-huh,” he smirked, “So you think-”
“Mommy, Daddy,” Jaxon, your three year old came running into the kitchen with Scooby hot on his heels.
“What's up kiddo?” Dean turned and picked up the little boy in his arms. Scooby whined and nuzzled his face into Dean's legs, trying to get his attention. “You're not forgotten, buddy,” he started to pet the German Shepherd.
“Cake,” Jaxcon said and hid his face in the crook of his father's neck.
“Bad qualities,” you threw a look at him and saw him shrugging.
“We have to wait for Grandma and Grandpa to arrive sweetie, then you can eat it,” you said.
“Okay,” he pouted.
“Come on Y/N, give him one piece,” Dean said.
“Don't encourage our son. If he gets a sugar rush, you have to deal with him,” you shook your head at your husband.
“Scout’s honour,” he grinned, as you cut up a piece of the cake.
Dean put the little boy down into a chair, when he started wriggling in his arms. Jaxcon immediately dug into the sugar factory as soon as you handed him the plate. You walked out of the room to check on the other preparations, as Dean kept a close eye on the boy, his hands occasionally petting the dog and scratching his ears.
Life was good. After that night at the bar, you had met Dean again. You were having a bad day - you had just handed the resignation letter to your pervert boss and walked out of your office, when you had bumped into him on the streets.
“I feel like you are my guardian angel who just pops up whenever I have a bad day,” you had laughed.
“Maybe it's a sign from the universe for us to be together,” he had said, a big grin plastered on his face, “let me take you out on a dinner. You won't have another bad day.”
You had agreed and one thing led to another and here you were now married to him with a child and another one on the way, organising a family gathering to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of your parents.
“Hey babe, I think your parents are here,” Dean called out from the kitchen.
“Yeah got it,” you shouted back.
“Hey Mom, Dad, happy anniversary,” you greeted as you opened the door.
“Thanks sweetie,” your Dad leaned into giving a peck on your cheek.
“Mr and Mrs. L/N,” Dean greeted, “thirty years huh? Happy Anniversary. Come on in. Your daughter has made some delicious food items.”
“Dean,” you chided but couldn't stop the smile that was threatening to spread over your face.
“Soon you will be celebrating your thirtieth anniversary. Time flies when you are with the right person,” your Dad said and you knew your Dad was right.
So yeah, life was good.
Tumblr media
“It looks like a freaking djinn,” Dean said, clutching the steering wheel tightly as he drove back to your town. He gritted his teeth in anticipation, as he focused on the road ahead.
“Dean you need to slow down or else we'll be dead even before we reach the town,” Sam frowned, “maybe it's a Djinn, but I am sure that Y/N/N’s absolutely safe.”
The older hunter's jaw ticked as he tried to put a brake on his racing thoughts - why did he always have to think of the worst?
After another hour of driving, Dean pulled up his car in front of a house. Jumping out of it, he jogged up the stairs and knocked on the door waiting for a reply.
“Dean stop! Maybe she is at work,” Sam intervened before his brother kicked down the door.
“No. She is in a huge ass danger. I can feel it Sammy,” Dean said, gripping his brother's shoulder tightly.
“You need to focus, Dean. I don't think you freaking out will help us at all. We need to treat this as any other case,” Sam said, “maybe Y/N’s safe after all.”
Nodding his head, Dean went back to his car, Sam following closely. They drove over to the nearest motel. Within a few minutes, they had switched to their fed suits and started going over the case and the alibi of the witness.
“Man with tattoos appeared out of nowhere. Bingo!” Dean exclaimed, “I told it seemed like a case of the tattooed suckers.”
The Winchesters started working rapidly - from interviewing the witness to finding out the locations of abandoned warehouses and buildings in the town.
“Uh….Dean. I think this might be the location where the Djinn is tak-”
Sam’s words were interrupted by the shrill ringtone of Dean’s phone.
“Agent Shaw speaking,” Dean said, “another missing report?....Name?” Sam saw his brother's eyes widened with fear and anger, as he continued to speak with the person over the phone.
“Thanks for letting us know,” He said and disconnected the call.
“There has been another report filed, another person has gone missing. Her name is Y/N L/N,” Dean breathed out, “I am gonna kill every one of those sons of bitches.”
Tumblr media
“Mhm,” you groaned, as you were woken up from your deep slumber to your husband peppering kisses all over your face.
You opened your eyes to see him staring at you with his forest green ones. Pulling you close, he captured your lips in a sensual kiss. You moaned into his mouth as his teeth slightly grazed your lip. Without letting go of your lips, his hands started to work on the buttons of the flannel which actually belonged to Dean, unbuttoning it successfully and you laid there in just your panties.
“De-” you whimpered as he started to leave a trail of kisses down your bare body. His calloused hands massaged your breasts, his sinful mouth started to suck at the sweet spot on your neck, eliciting a sweet moan from your mouth.
“That's gonna leave a mark. Gonna let the world know you're mine,” he growled into your ears, his voice making you shiver with anticipation. As his fingers worked on your already hardened nipples, his mouth slowly moved south.
Spreading your legs apart, you felt his hot breath at your clothed, wet core. “N-need you,” you breathed as you felt him starting to kiss your inner thighs.
“Mhm, so fucking wet already,” he mumbled, as he swiftly ripped off your damp panties.
“Dean, p-please,” you whined.
“Please what?” He gave you a cocky grin, his fingers brushing past your sensitive clit.
“Either fuck me or put your magic fingers to use,” you pouted which immediately turned into a gasp as he put a finger inside you. He started to pump at a slow pace. Your back arched in ecstasy as he picked up the pace. He put another finger, your knuckles turning white as you gripped the bedsheet tightly. He curled his fingers inside you and kept pumping at a quick pace, brushing your g-spot over and over again.
“F-fuck,” you moaned, as your hand left the bedsheet, to tug at Dean’s hair, entangling your fingers with the short, soft strands, making him groan.
“De, g-gonna c-co-” you whimpered.
“Then let it go, sweetheart,” he rasped and that's all it took as your body shook with pleasure, you came hard on his fingers. Dean moved up to you as you panted, your mind and body in a euphoric state. He pecked your lips lightly as you tugged at his boxer’s band but he lightly swatted your hands away, “so impatient.” You noticed the sizable bulge in his boxers. He grunted, throwing his head back in pleasure as you palmed his cock through the soft material of his boxers.
He pulled down his boxers, his hardened length sprung free. You took his cock in your hand, giving it a few strokes.
“Nuh-uh,” he groaned pushing your hands away. “I won't last long i-if you do that a-and I wanna be inside you.” You let go of him, giving into his plea.
He kissed you once again as he lined himself in front of your entrance. “Fuck,” you gasped, your eyes fluttering close as he pushed himself inside you.
“Shit sweetheart,” he groaned, “not gonna last long.”
“Mhm,” you moaned, failing to form any coherent sentence, “m-move.” Dean obliged, slowly pulling out of you till only his tip was inside you. He kept thrusting into you, “s-shit, baby.” You jerked your hip forward, trying to meet his pace. He quickened his pace as he roughly kissed you. He continued to ram into you, his cock brushing your g-spot every time, making you moan out loud. His hands travelled all over your body. He let out a breathy moan as the coil in your stomach tightened.
“Gonna c-come,” you whimpered, your pussy clenching around him.
“Let go baby,” his thrusts became a little sloppy, as Dean inched towards his climax. Your hands gripped tightly onto his biceps, as his fingers entangled with your hair.
“Fuck Dean!” You cried out as the coil inside you snapped and you felt yourself coming undone, “fuck!”
Dean thrusted into you a few more times before he let out a guttural moan, his seed spilling inside you, coating your walls. He dropped his head onto your shoulder, his face hiding in the crook of your neck as he collapsed on top of you. Panting, Dean pulled out of you, as he rolled to the other side of the bed. You both laid in bed, as you pulled the covers up to cover your modesty.
“Morning,” you smiled.
“Morning,” he whispered, pecking your cheeks, “I'm gonna go and get a shower. Join me.”
“No funny business. You have work and you are already running late,” you warned, “and the kiddos are up.”
“Scouts honour,” he said as he walked into the bathroom in all his naked glory. You removed the covers and climbed out of the bed to go to the bathroom.
“Y/N,” you stopped in your tracks as you heard a voice calling your name.
“Dean? Did you call me?”
“Nope.” Your husband replied from the bathroom. You shrugged off the feeling and went into the bathroom, joining your husband. Needless to say, you guys didn't make it out of the bathroom in time.
“We already have a ten months old and a five year old. Don't you think you should tame your libido?” You said, while feeding your daughter.
“I can't keep it in my pants with you walking around me,” Dean said, “sooner or later, I will put another baby in you.”
“Daddy!” Jaxcon exclaimed as Dean leaned in to kiss you.
“What?” He groaned making you chuckle.
“I will be late for school! Hurry!” The son urged.
“Who gets so excited for school? He is a nerd like you!” Dean said and walked over to his son not before he had kissed you. “Take one to know one. Go or your boss will kick you out!”
Ava, your ten months old, babbled as she waved at her father. “Oh look, your baby girl says bye,” you said, catching your husband's attention.
“Bye Ava,” Dean waved back as he followed your son out of the door. This was your daily morning routine.
“Y/N, sweetheart, wake up,” you heard the voice again but no one was in the house anymore except your daughter who could hardly form complete words.
“Who is it?” You called out in the empty house.
Tumblr media
“Y/N, sweetheart wake up,” Dean said to your unconscious figure lying on the ground. Exhausted, injured, Dean desperately tried to wake you up. Tears pricked at his eyes, as guilt ridden thoughts made their way into his mind. Two lifeless bodies of the djinns laid on the ground beside you.
“Sammy, she's not waking up,” he said, his voice cracking.
“Let's take her back to the bunker. I already gave her the antidote. If she doesn't wake up, maybe we can look through the archives of the British Men Of Letters,” Sam grunted as he stood up. They both were beaten up but none of them suffered any life threatening injuries. Dean picked you up in bridal style, as he made his way towards his car. Sam joined you and Dean after he was done burning the bodies.
The drive back to the bunker was tense. Sam was in the driver's seat as Dean was in the backseat with your head resting peacefully in his lap. He caressed your face, removing a few loose strands of hair, as he waited for you to wake up with bated breath.
“What if the antidote doesn't work?” Dean asked, worry evident on his face.
“You remember what happened with Charlie?” Sam asked, “we have to use African Dream Root to wake her up. We have to invade her dreams.”

the boy in the bookstore (part three)
Tumblr media
in which you meet a suspiciously handsome boy in your favorite bookstore- but are not cultured enough to know his true identity.
part one
part two
ateez scenario
yeosang x (fem) reader
word count: 1.6k
g: fluff, angst if you’re a sensitive bitch
warnings: intrusive thoughts, alcohol, & heavy drinking (please drink responsibly lol)
a/n: parts one and two of this fic are linked at the top of this post. when the whole fic is completed, i plan on posting it in it’s entirety. happy reading!
- allison
part three
over the next few weeks, you and yeosang continue to talk. nothing too serious- just occasional texting and one (1) trip to the bookshop. you can tell he's much busier than he lets on, because he takes ages to answer your messages. at first this stressed you out, but now you suspect it's just his day job keeping him occupied. today, you shoot him a quick text before you leave for class. (7 am lecture. what the hell.)
you: hey, wanna get together this week? it's occurred to me that you're basically my only friend in this fucking city lol
you: and i should probably get out
you: i heard it's good for the soul
you cringe internally. why would you let yourself ramble like that? besides, you don't even like him romantically, don't make him think you do. ugh. maybe stop overthinking, y/n.
you force the embarrassing text messages out of your mind, leaving your small apartment before you can consider just skipping the lecture.
- - -
as you walk along campus, (post-lecture, thank god) you feel your cell phone buzz in your pocket. you pull it out to check your messages. when you see yeosang's name, your heart skips a beat.
yeosang: good for the soul, huh? where the hell did you hear that
you: idk can't u just let me rant
you hesitate sending that message. you find it odd that you can have such a casual conversation with someone like yeosang. besides, you'd only known him less than a month. how was he so easy for you to talk to?
yeosang: lol okay
yeosang: but yes i'd like to go out but i'm only free tomorrow, does that work?
you: that works fine yea
yeosang: what were you wanting to do..?
you falter again. you had no idea... you hadn't really gotten that far in planning.
you: honestly idrk??
yeosang: well
yeosang: how about we just go get a drink or something
you: like alcohol?
yeosang: yes????
you can't help but giggle. how did he send so much attitude through a text? you let the conversation taper off naturally, and the two of you agree to go get drinks tomorrow evening. yeosang knows a place, apparently.
you set down your phone and sigh.
a beat passes, and suddenly it hits you. was this a date? had you just accidentally asked yeosang on a date??? you curse out loud. does he think it's a date? but he said yes, so he couldn't possibly-
you force yourself to stop thinking. you know that if you don't snuff those thoughts now, you probably wouldn't be able to go tomorrow. dammit, y/n.
deep breath in.
deep breath out.
he's just a friend.
- - -
you narrow your eyes as you glare at your reflection in the mirror. nope, this top does not look cute on you. why did you ever think it had? you walk back to your closet and dig through the mess of clothes you've created. you've spent the last 30 minutes trying on outfits, unsure on what to wear. you desperately wish you had some girlfriends to help you out- but the closest you have are your coworkers, and you aren't really friends with any of them.
10 more minutes pass, and when you glance at the clock, your heart almost stops. shit. you're gonna be late. you turn in a desperate circle, and finally just shove on a dark green sweater, leftover from last christmas. on top of your loose jeans, you look slightly ragged, but you don't have time to think. you grab your bag and leave the apartment in a rush.
the heels of your boots click as you walk along the road. it's only seven, but the sun has already set, and the streets are relatively quiet.
it only takes you a few minutes to arrive at the address yeosang had sent you. you come to a halt, staring up at the building in front of you. it looks busy, and you can hear the sound of many conversations happening inside.
"y/n-ssi!"
you turn at the sound of your name. yeosang is standing under the awning of the building, wearing ripped jeans and a lazy button up shirt. your heart flutters at the sight of him.
"oh, hey," you manage, walking over to meet him. he nods at you and opens his mouth, about to say something, but he hesitates. after a moment, he says: "you look nice."
heat crawls up your neck, and you look at the ground. "oh. thank you." you glance back up, your eyes flickering to the exposed skin of his collarbone. "you look good too."
you hear his breath catch. another moment passes, and he looks up again. "let's go inside?" he asks.
the two of you make your way into the bar, searching for a table. you manage to spot one at the back of the room. it's a two person table, and it's perfect. you sit down awkwardly, face still flushed. you feel so stupid. this is practically a date. why would he agree to it? you wish you were already drunk.
yeosang sits across from you, and asks what you want to drink. you tell him soju is fine, and he stands up, beginning to walk away.
"wait, hold on! take my card." you say, holding it out to him.
he shakes his head. "no, it's fine. this one's on me."
you begin to protest, but he reaches out and grabs your hand, placing it back on the table. before you can say anything, he walks away, pulling out his own wallet.
you feel like stone. on the table, your hand burns as a result of his touch. you shove your face into your hands.
you don't like him. you don't like him. you don't like him. you don't like-
yeosang's return rips you from your thoughts. he sets three beers on the table, and takes his seat. you look up at him, not sure if you'll be able to survive the night.
"are you okay?" he asks, sounding genuinely concerned. "you seem kind of upset."
you let out a high-pitched giggle, and reach for one of the beers. "oh, i'm fine. totally fine." you grunt, trying to open the bottle. the cap wouldn't budge. you try again, and when that doesn't work, you bring the bottle to your teeth.
yeosang reaches over and snatches the bottle from you. "you're so weird," he mumbles, opening the bottle on the first try. you make a face, and take the drink back, taking a long sip. he cocks an eyebrow, and reaches to open his own.
you guzzle your drink, grateful for the distraction. maybe too grateful, though, because after a moment, you choke on your drink. sputtering, you laugh a little. you glance up at yeosang, and he’s smiling, too. you imagine you probably look stupid as hell, but his eyes sparkle. suddenly, he moves his hand up to your face, brushing his thumb across your bottom lip.
“got a bit of soju there,” he mumbles, but his hand hovers.
your face burns, and his does too. but neither of you look away.
you lean forward slightly, suddenly yearning to close the gap between your open mouths.
he looks down, leaning back in his chair. the connection breaks.
what the hell? you think. had you just wanted to kiss yeosang? you must be tipsier than you’d thought...
as the night continues, the two of you manage to keep a light conversation going, in between the drinks. twenty minutes pass, and you've already finished two beers. you stand up, ready to order more, but yeosang grabs your wrist. "hey, maybe you should slow down."
you shake your head. all you want is to be drunk right now. your random almost-kiss had your brain in overdrive. everything is stressing you out, and if you don't get drunk soon, you might lose your mind. being around yeosang was too much. you wanted to leave, but you wanted to be with him. you wanted for him to go, but you wanted to see him. you wanted him to stay away, but you wanted to touch him. what was going on? what were these feelings?
your counterpart sighs and raises his hand at the bartender, gesturing for another round.
 - - -
thirty more minutes pass, and you're now three and a half sojus in, officially drunk. your thoughts spin and the ground tilts, but at least your breathing has evened out. you look up from the grain of the table, and find yeosang staring at you, a crease between his eyebrows.
"what?" you ask.
his gaze just hardens.
you like him you like him, no you DON'T you like him you like him you like him
"i didn't think you were gonna get plastered."
you plop your face onto the table, and he cringes. "well, i am. plastered, that is." you mumble against the wood.
"mm-hmm. maybe we should go home."
you begin to argue, but yeosang has already gotten up, and is lifting you out of your seat. your whole body flushes with heat.
don't touch me. touch me. kiss me. go away.
he slings your arm around his shoulder and begins to lead you out. you can't help but notice how nice his body feels against yours. you can feel his toned muscles beneath his thin shirt.
on the street, yeosang turns to look at you. "i don't know where you live." he says, more to himself than to you.
you hum, not quite understanding his predicament. you want to sleep. suddenly, a thought occurred to you. "oh, yeosang-yah!"
he starts and turns back to you. "what?"
you force yourself off of him, stumbling towards a bench. he lurches for you, catching you around the waist. "what on earth are you doing?"
"i forgot to tell you." you mumble, lazily trying to push his hands off of you. "i can't handle my alcohol." and that's the last thing you manage before the world goes completely dark.
edit: part four is up now. thank you for reading!

**MASTERLIST**
Pulling at the restraints that were holding your arms above your head you curse yourself for not having seen this coming.
You knew that demon that escaped Dean and yourself in Kansas City would come back to bite you in the ass one day, you just didn’t think it would be this soon. Alas here you are, in a dark wet basement, tied to a pole in the center of the room with a variety of tortuous instruments that the damn thing had been using on you for the past two days strown randomly throughout the room on tables.
You knew that you were just bait, that you were nothing but a lure for Dean. The demon knew that your Alpha would stop at nothing to save you from this bastard, and you also knew that’s when the demon would try and kill him.
You couldn’t let that happen, you refused to let it happen. You’d die trying to get out of here before you let that happen.
Sure, Dean was your Alpha, and yes Dean was the one by nature and biology that protected you, but your biggest fear was Dean would get hurt protecting you.
Pulling on the restraints one more time you prayed with everything in you that by some miracle they would break.
Nothing.
Your arms, legs, and back were littered with little cuts, and gashes; courtesy of the demon that was holding you captive, and every movement seemed to sting in new places.
Letting your weight sag you notice that the rope holding you to your pole gave with your weight some, whereas it wasn’t earlier. So you pulled further and again, until soon more of the rope loosened, allowing you to pull your arms lower. A nail along the wall snagged the thick rope causing it frayed.
With two more heavy pulls the rope that had you bound finally broke free, and you fell to the floor with a thud.
Thanking Chuck that your capture seemed to have not heard you, you pulled yourself up from the floor using the table in front of you.
The room was dimly lit by the sun coming through a window that at one point had been painted, but was now started to fade, and allow little rays of light to filter through.
As quietly as you could, you climbed on top of the covered furnishings and lawn equipment that lay askew across the walls, and pulled at the window. To your great surprise, and relief it was open.
Hoisting yourself up on your injured forearms you pulled your battered body through the window, and onto the grass outside. Taking only a moment to see your surroundings in order to tell your Alpha where this bastard was hiding, you break for the tree line, and away from your personal hell that you’d been in for three days.
Dean wouldn’t have even known you were missing, he had been on a hunt in Ohio, Wendigo from the looks of it, and wasn’t due to be home until today. You had gone on a supply run so that you could make him his favorite pie when he got home. You knew your heat was coming, and it was somewhat of a tradition between the two of you for you to pamper him the full week before your heat hit, since he was going to spend the following days taking such good care of you.
Dean always insisted that it was unnecessary, and he enjoyed helping you through your heats, that he was there for you, but you still felt the need to pamper him, and he didn't fight you on it much.
You never would have guessed that the demon would have jumped you as soon as you got out of the car, before you were even able to get to the grocery store.
You also didn’t expect him to be so stupid as to not take your car keys from your pocket, and hide your car. Then again he probably wanted Dean to find it.
You thought you were okay, you made it back to your car, and into the Bunker garage without so much as batting an eye. You had been a hunter your whole life after all, and being kidnapped and torture just came with the territory, but as you put the car in park, and set back against your seat, a whole new feeling hit you all together.
Fear.
Shaking, you opened the door to your car, and almost fell out of it onto the concrete floor of the garage. Your breath was coming in short, sparaitic spurts, and your chest felt like it had a thousand pound weight on it, that was pressing harder and harder with each passing breath that pushed through your burning lungs.
You began to try and crawl your way into the bunker when you heard the door burst open, and Sam’s heavy footsteps coming towards you.
“Y/n?” he yelled upon seeing you laying on the floor, running towards you, yelling for Dean.
You knew that Sam would have died before he ever laid a hand on you to hurt you, but the demon that had trapped you had been an Alpha, and something in the strong Alpha scent that wasn’t your Alpha sent you reeling over the edge.
A deep growl rumbled in your chest, and you backed yourself against the back tire of Baby, baring your teeth at him like some wild animal, with every intent of it signaling to him if he tried to get to close or touch you, that you were prepared to go as far as ripping his arms off to protect yourself.
Cas and Dean came to a running stop right at the side of Sam, who was now backing up with his hands in the air.
Cas held his position, but Dean didn’t hesitate in dropping to his knees, and pulling you into his lap, his scent surrounding you and comforting you for the first time in days.
“What the fuck happed? Who did this to you?” Dean asks you, his teeth gritted and low growls falling from his chest.
You couldn’t answer him, your focus on Cas as he made his way over to you, before he could even kneel down to check your injuries a growl ripped through your body that even made your Alpha jump in surprise.
“Y/n, I can heal you if you let me.” Cas said calmly, but you were feeling anything but calm at the moment and wanted no one but you Alpha to touch you.
“No,” you growled through gritted teeth, and Dean pulled you closer to his chest, allowing you to bury your face in his neck, breathing in his scent deeply.
“Baby girl, you have to tell us what happened.” Dean said, running his hands through your matted hair in an attempt to calm you as the tears you had been holding back all this time made their way to the surface.
“That demon from Kansas city jumped me as I got out of the car. He kept me trapped in the basement for days, a house just at the end of 11th street with a busted up white fence, Dean...I’m sorry I shouldn’t have left the bunker without you, I just wanted to..”
Dean shushed your rambling apology by pressing his lips to yours. A peace seeped through you in a rush of relief at the close contact.
Breaking the kiss,Dean turned to silently communicate to Sam what needed to be done. Sam in turn nodded and then got into your car with Cas, both of them going to rid the world of that asshole once and for all, and leaving you under the care of the only man you would let touch you.
Dean lefted the two of you with ease, making his way into the bunker and into the showers with you as if you weighed nothing at all. You kept your face buried in his neck the whole way, your body trembling with exhaustion, and pain as he made slow calculated movements so as to not jostle you around too much.
Dean sat you on the ground next to the bathtub, leaving you just long enough to start the water filling in the tub before coming to strip your filthy clothing from you, or what was left of it anyway.
You numbly let him do with you whatever he wanted. You had no fight, and you had no strength left in your body. All your fight had been used up to get back to your Alpha, and now that you were here, you had to trust him so he would protect you. You wanted nothing more than to sink into your bed, with your Alpha’s arms around you, where you knew you were safe.
Lifting you carefully off the floor, Dean laid you down in the bathtub that he’d filled with Epsom Salt to sterilize the wounds that covered your body, thankfully none of them were too deep, but you still hissed at the burn before letting the hot water relax your aching muscles.
Once Dean had you settled in the bath, he moved to strip himself of his own clothing, before setting in behind you, wrapping you in his arms, and cupping water over your hair as he washed away all the evidence of what was done to you aside from the cuts that littered your skin.
He took his time in silence, washing your hair, and making his way over your whole body with you in his hold.
Once he was done he got you both dried off and carried you to your shared bedroom, putting you down in your bed before retrieving one of his flannels to slip over you body, wrapping you up completely in his scent before he climbed in and pulled you into his embrace. His lips tracing over yours in a comforting, calming way that only he could.
“I failed you, Omega. This is my fault that this happened to you, if I would have killed that son of a bitch in Kansas City he would have never hurt you.”
Shaking your head furiously you place your lips to his as the first barely there cramp of your heat rolled through your body. Letting you know of the impending need that would surely be there by morning.
Dean scensed the change in your scent, and pulled you closer to him, nuzzling himself into your neck and breathing you in deeply.
“Dean, this was just as much my fault as it is yours. I know you don’t like me going on supply runs while you're not here, and I did it anyway against better judgement.”
Dean huffed, clearly kicking himself for not being here to protect you when you were captured.
“Either way, that bastard will be dead as soon as Cas and Sam get ahold of him, and then we will never have to worry about that again.”
The thought of the way you acted in the garage hit you, and you buried yourself impossibly deeper into Dean’s hold. Dean, sensing the change in you, lifted your chin a little with his finger, eyes searching yours.
“I will never let anything like that happen to you again, Omega, I swear it.”
You nibbled on your lip and nodded your head, allowing Dean to comfort and reassure you. Knowing that’s what you needed more than you wanted to admit.
“I’m sorry that I acted like that with Sam and Cas, I know they were just trying to help,” you mumbled against his throat as his hands instinctively wandered your body, pressing deeply into your back, and pulling you closer to his warm body as another mild cramp rolled through your abdomen.
“It’s okay baby, they understand.”
Dean’s fingers press into your hips, and pull you closer to him, his erection pressing into your thigh as he hoists your leg over his hips, pressing himself against your bare center.
“Right now I don’t want you to worry about none of that, that son of a bitch is as good as dead. He can’t hurt you again. You're safe here with me. Now let me make my baby girl feel better, I can sense your heat is close, and I want to make love to my girl one more time before it hits.”
You needed him, you knew you needed him. There was something special about an Alpha and his Omega. It was more than needed, it was deeper than heats and ruts, it surprised biology, it was that unexplainable bond. A bond that went beyond all reasoning and understanding, a bond that when connected could heal all wounds, mental and physical, it didn’t matter it was greater than that. It put together broken pieces, and made things that were once severed whole.
That’s what you needed more than anything right now, to feel whole.
Dean rutted his leaking cock through your rapidly soaking folds, your body reacting in a way only he seemed to be able to make it. The spongy tip created the most delicious friction against your aching bundle of nerves as he drove you higher and higher, grinding himself against you, layering you with his scent as his teeth grazed your mating gland, and over his mark, a shiver running down your spin, and landing deep in your core. Your velvet walls contracting around nothing as your hips start to roll with his on their own.
“Alpha, please, I need you.” you begged him, nails digging into his shoulders as he continued to tease you with his cock. Not giving you what you need, but giving you just enough to drive you crazy.
“I got you, Omega, I know what you need.” he purs as he breaches your entrance and with one full thrust seats himself deep inside of you. The stretch of him catching you by surprise, and stealing your breath form you as sheer pleasure rips through your body. Your mouth falling open in a soundless scream.
Dean’s hands slipped around your back and under his flannel as his lips make their way down your throat, giving you a moment to adjust to him before he started to rock his hips into you. Keeping himself buried deep in your wet heat. His knot forming quickly as the coil in your belly wound tighter and tighter with each roll of your hips with his, your bodies working together as his pelvis provided just the right amount of pressure against your aching clit.
Before you had time to even warn him you were coming undone in his lap. Your walls clamping down around him as your orgasm ripped through your body, a scream of his name falling from your lips as your release triggered his, his teeth sinking deep into your mating gland, reclaiming you as his own, and sealing your bond deeper than you ever thought possible, your walls milking his knot as his body locks with yours, and warm ropes of cum spill deep inside your womb.
Laying there locked together with your Alpha you let the peace that surrounded you lull you to a peaceful sleep. Dean watches over you, garding you, protecting you, like he would do until the day he died.
He made a promise to himself to never let anything hurt you again.
“Mine.” he mumbled into your hair, as you nuzzled into him in your peaceful slumber.
The life that you both lived almost guaranteed that one day one would be taken from the other, but right now, with you lying here in his arms, he was in heaven, and if his battered, torn soul never made it over there, he’d cherish these moments even in hell. This was all that he'd ever need, and he’d protect you with is life. He knew it would take a while to get you over this attack that you didn’t deserve, but he’d be there with you every step of the way until you were whole again.

Sugar Daddy AU - Mista
Tumblr media
Warning: NSFW, degradation, death threat, choking, spanking, hair-pulling, implied murder, I wrote and post in mobile so I can't put this under the cut, read the warnings please
Did I really just write a 2k word fic because Mista called himself Daddy? Yes. Yes, I did.
It was the garterbelt and stockings that did him in, you knew.
Amazement and lust shone clear in his eyes as you slid off your long coat, revealing the lingerie set that had been gifted to you last week. Your Daddy sat in his office chair, a leg atop his knee and his bottom lip trapped between white teeth as one hand lowered and put out a half-burned cigarette in an ashtray. His eyes burned holes in your body, travelling up and down, especially lingering at your stocking-clad legs. You rubbed your thighs together. He took a deep breath.
You giggled at his reaction. He really made it too easy.
"Care to tell me why you're here wearing that, baby?" He asked after a few minutes of staring.
You strode to him, crossing the distance from the door to his desk, and sat on the cold mahogany surface. Ass facing him, of course. He let out a slow breath at how the globes looked, soft and perfectly squished.
"I went to Paris." You began, twirling a lock of hair between your fingers.
"Cool. How was it?"
You made a drawn and disinterested 'eh' sound as your palm began moving up and down your thigh. His ebony eyes followed it like a hawk watching a mouse.
"It was fun. I ate raw oysters. Got new clothes, shoes, perfume…" you stretched a hand out to him, wrist up, "Wanna smell?"
You knew he knew what you were playing at. He wasn't the Don for nothing. Yet, he still leaned down, encircling your wrist in a gentle grip and bringing it up to his nose to take a whiff. Though the rule of the business was to not get attracted to your benefactor, the way his nose flared as his eyes closed did some things to you. He's just so damnably handsome and obliviously sexy that you can't help the way your gut wrenched nor the way your cunt flooded with moistness. Once he opened his eyes to look at you, they were half-lidded and burning with desire.
He grinned, dimples dipping so deep it made your mouth water. You wanted nothing more in that moment than to lick them, "Smells good, baby. Delicious."
Distract yourself, your conscious screamed, you came here with a mission to complete. Your eyes scanned his desk and found a mug. You reached for it, taking back your hand from him. You picked up the mug and drank from it absent-mindedly, surprised at what you tasted on your tongue.
"M-Milk?"
He chuckled, "Oh, yeah. I ate something too spicy earlier. Which reminds me--"
He patted his knee, a signal for you to come sit on Daddy's lap. You complied, putting the mug back down. You removed yourself from the desk and rounded it, spreading your legs and straddling him-- his crotch in particular-- then wrapped your arms loosely around his neck. You could already feel his semi-hard length pressing against you, teasing you with promises of a good time and a sore body.
"-- My tongue still hurts like shit. I need something sweet." His hands firmly gripped your thighs, "To balance it out, you know?"
The way he ogled at your breasts told you it wasn't food he's talking about.
Despite your determination not to give in, you ground your hips to his.
He released a shaky sigh, burying his head at the crook of your neck and gripping your sides harder. You did it again, firmer this time, which earned a low rumble from him.
"Baby girl, what is it that you need?" His voice weakly asked. God, he's so easy to tease you almost feel bad.
Almost.
"Daddy, I had so much fun in Paris… Thank you for sending me there and giving me an allowance~" He just grunted as a response so you continued, "but I've used them all up and my bills are due next week."
He lifted his head to look at you. Smirking, he held the side of your face. His hands were warm and rough, and you leaned into it instinctively.
"That so?" His thumb stroked your cheek, swiping lower and massaging your bottom lip, "But baby, our condition says I'll only give you your allowance once a month. We can't breach the contract now, can we?"
You whined. It was too good to be true. He may act silly and friendly, but he was still the Don. The most powerful person in the gang. He won't give in so easily.
He took your arm off his neck, guiding your hands down his belt. With a seductive smile, he said, "If you want more, you'll have to work for it dolcezza."
Ah, of course. This was a transaction of gestures. And you were all too eager to participate in the exchange if it meant seeing six digits in your bank account.
You removed yourself from his lap while he stood. Kneeling in front of him, you unbuckled his belt and undid his pants, letting his member spring out. You were just about to put him in your mouth when he stopped you, guiding you to bend down on his desk. You thought it was going to be one of those days where he had to fuck you quickly because he's in a rush. Maybe an appointment in thirty minutes or so?
You released a startled cry when his palm connected with your behind rather harshly.
"You think you can just come in here unannounced?" His voice was dark and gravelly, tickling your core like a feather and making you even wetter. He stroked the abused spot lightly, the skin already feeling like it's on fire. The sting felt so splendid, so dirty. You never even thought you were into pain until you met him. Only he knew how to deliver it in ways that had you craving for more. He grabbed a fistful of your hair and yanked your head back, "I'm the Don, puttana. You have no right to do as you wish, and you do not disrespect me like that, am I clear?"
A whimper escaped your throat, "Yes, Daddy. I'm sorry."
"Very good. I like you, (Y/N). I'd hate it if you have to go for being too much of a little brat." That wasn't a threat, as you've learned. In the world he lived in, it was a warning. There was a cold edge to his words and it made your heart beat erratically to the rush of both fear and excitement. He was truly dangerous, the only man who could kill you and wipe your existence from the planet as though you've never existed in the first place. Being his sugar baby meant being the devil's plaything. L'incarnazione del diavolo, that's what he's called. The devil's incarnation. He was the plague inside Pandora's box: cruel, merciless, inhuman-- a chaotic package wrapped up in delightful curly black hair, broad shoulders, and reddish bronze-skin.
Your attention snapped back to the moment when he ripped your flimsy panties off. The sheer power he showed made your core gush as you imagined him using that force to pound into you. The cold air hit your uncovered pussy, but not for long. His warm fingers were immediately shoved inside your needy cunt. You gasped at the sudden intrusion, but soon was reduced to a moaning mess as he began pumping his digits, a thumb joining the others as it rubbed on your clit in the same rhythm. He landed another slap to your ass, the added pleasure from the pain driving your mind into a complete haywire.
"Tsk. I haven't even put my cock in you yet and you're already gone. Don't cum without my permission, or I'll really be angry." His voice was almost drowned out by your sounds. You nodded, but shrieked when he slapped your ass again.
"Answer." He commanded.
"Yes, Daddy!" You all but screamed.
He petted the soreness on your skin, "Good, bambina."
He withdrew his fingers with a wet squelch. You had to quell the protest down your throat. Acting bratty now would just make him delay your orgasm further. You felt him press his length to your slit, teasingly moving the head up and down. You were panting, exhilarated by what he'd do next. To your disappointment, he slid his cock lower, settling in trapping it in between your folds and creating a back and forth motion that sent delicious friction to your clit. His hands came up and slid your bra off, cupping and squeezing your breasts. He flicked at your nipples, rolling the buds and twisting them, making you writhe wildly. You could feel yourself approaching the edge. Your hips began to jerk, meeting his as your ass bounced against his pelvis.
"Daddy! Daddy, please! Please let me cum, please, please, please, please!" You begged, voice cracking with overuse.
He only answered with a breathless 'No' before drawing away.
"Daddy!" Your tone was irritated as you called him, but you could care less. If you didn't die by his hands for acting out of place, then you most definitely would through orgasm denial. At this moment, you'd prefer to perish through the former rather than the latter.
He growled at your attitude, bending down to lay his torso flat against your back as a hand came to slither and clasp around your neck with delectable force.
"You dare to use that tone on me?!"
You wailed when he plunged his entire shaft inside you-- harshly, no warnings, up to the hilt.
"I don't think you understand your situation so let me make it clear, cara--" he began thrusting, deep and with so much force that you saw stars whenever his dick dragged along your insides, hitting your G-spot  over and over, "-- I have the power to kill you and make it seem like an accident. I can take everything away from you and make you wish I'd killed you instead. I can strip you naked and let each of my men fuck you. Do not test me again, you hear?"
Though you were lost in delirious bliss, you answered, "Y-Yes, Daddy! I'll be a good girl! I won't make you mad again! I promise! Please, please, please, let me cum!"
He groaned as you began bucking against him, "Not yet."
He increased his pace. He was fucking you so hard that the edgr of the desk dug into your flesh. You were about to go insane. Your thoughts empty aside from the tingling inside you that grew more and more intense. Your senses dulled, mouth dripping with spit, and eyes crossing with how incredibly overstimulated you are. His grip on your neck tightened and he roared.
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! I'm close! Touch yourself and come with me, baby!" He panted.
You eagerly obeyed, hand slipping down. Your fingers pressed steady circling motions to the bundle of nerves. Your vision was beginning to darken due to the lack of air, but you could only think of chasing your completion.
"Shit, I'm cumming! I'm cumming! Baby-- fuck, cum for me! Now!" He yelled.
You didn't need to be told. Everything blurred, then exploded. Pure, white, hot rapture tore through you as you screamed your lungs out and shook from the orgasm that crashed down on you. You've flung yourself off the cliff, and you relished in the feeling of absolute release. Your insides milked him, contracting and pulling him in even more that he came tumbling after you. You could only faintly recognize the feel of him spilling himself. He came so much that it had nowhere else to go inside you and began spurting out, dribbling down your thighs.
He removed his hand from your neck, scooping you up gently and planting you on his lap as you both collapsed back into his chair. Your vision slowly returned, unfocused eyes affixed to the ceiling. Your chest hurt from breathing--actually, everything hurt, but it was the kind of pain that you loved. The kind that meant you just got your brains fucked to high heavens.
After the both of you had calmed down, he began weaving his hands through your hair.
"Sorry, principessa. It was a bad day." He whispered softly, "Don't worry, I'll have the money deposited to your account before the day ends."
You made a small sound to acknowledge what he said, too tired to do anything else. This was the part where you always fell asleep. Tendrils of drowsiness creeped around your conscious, you were too weary to fight them off. You felt his lips at the crown of your head before succumbing to sleep, lulled by the sound of his steady breathing.

↱ PLAYLIST
------------------------------------------------✈
scene one; i’ll try
Shiratorizawa!
The pounding of the drums sent a familiar shiver through Ushijima Wakatoshi's spine. Except for the fact that the tingling wasn't usually something he felt because of the cheers. On ordinary days, the piercing screams were nothing but background noise. Something he could unconsciously drown out.
It wasn't that he was ungrateful for the support his fellow schoolmates showed, it was quite the opposite, but with the intensity of the sport he played, the uproars could only be driven back as a mere afterthought, something he would easily forget about, a buzz at the back of his mind.
Shiratorizawa!
Today, however, a thought was pushing through the forefront of his mind. It was like something was screaming at him to do something, but he couldn't for the life of him figure out what.
It was currently the fourth set of their game against Karasuno, and as he looked around the sea of white and maroon, as well as the contrasting colors of black and orange, he couldn't help but feel strange.
Shiratorizawa!
          "Shiratorizawa?"
Her face dropped as the sudden realization dawned upon her, and Ushijima had no choice but to watch silently. The way her soft eyes tensed into a tight glare, gazing back into his with a look of concealed hurt and betrayal. It pained him, to see the person he cared so much about, shrink back into the weak, vulnerable girl he had met all those years ago.
The ringing of the referee's whistle was what brought him out of his daze, walking briskly to the sidelines as the game was halted by a technical timeout. The cheers of the crowd didn't stop and with the added layer of another school, the overlapping cries were muddling together in what seemed to be a second battle off the court. The rhythmic beating of drums, the frantic clapping of cheer bats, and the deafening screams of the masses.
School was out for the day as the sun was slowly setting outside, its rays creeping through the windows, casting a golden sheen across the empty hallways. Most of the students had already rushed out as soon as the bell rang. Ushijima, however, being a new student, had to lag behind to settle the remaining paperwork with his new teachers.
And as he walked down through the empty floors, hands gripping the straps of his backpack, he felt his body halt as the peaceful campus was interrupted by an earsplitting scream.
The scream Ushijima heard resounded throughout the hallways, the sound ripping through his ears as it got dragged out by the constant echoes.
Who could that be? And at this time?
Ushijima didn't know the campus all that well, it was his first day, how could he? Yet as the screams only got worse, his feet started moving towards the sounds plaguing his elementary school's hallways. The cries getting louder as his feet stepped further in rapid succession, every step he took, the louder the screams rang in his ears.
As he crept closer, new sounds started inviting themselves through his senses, the screams were clearer, but now there was something else.
Are those water splashes?
Ushijima couldn't know for sure, but as his feet walked farther, he found himself halting in front of a room.
Opening the sliding doors, he was greeted by the sight of a girl splashing around in the water, head protruding from the surface every few seconds. And at that moment, it didn't take an adult to realize that the girl in front of him, whose screams were becoming more chocked, wasn't here to swim.
She was drowning.
The timeout had ended and Ushijima was once again standing tall on the court, eyes focused and calculating. Whatever feelings were emerging from within him, the sudden wave of nostalgia that would wash over him, they could be dealt with at another time. He needed to focus, sharpen his senses on the game in front of him, but no matter how hard he tried, there would always be an inkling feeling that lingers at the back of his conscious.
The girl was shivering and clinging onto Ushijima's body. Which now matched hers as the droplets of water fell onto the tile floors beneath them.
He couldn't quite process what exactly just happened. He couldn't understand how he had found himself in this situation, but he understood that the girl was safe. And that was all he needed to understand.
"Don't let me go," he heard her say despite her coughs. He heard her, and he listened. Holding onto her form tighter before rushing her to the nurse.
scene two; you’ve got a friend in me
"Toshiiii!" you said. The joy in your voice making itself known as you trudged further into the small yard with Wakatoshi and his father playing volleyball together. "Let me play too!" you pouted.
The young boy turned to you and nodded promptly, much to your delight.
"Y/N-chan! How nice of you to drop by!" said Ushijima's father, a wide smile plastered onto his face as he waved at you. He was always such a kind man, always welcoming you with open arms. And as you ran over to where they were playing, the smile never once left his face.
Knowing this, you could only laugh as you stared at the boy in front of you. Face emotionless and unwavering in comparison.
It had been a year since that incident in the pool. The memories that still plagued your mind sent your body shivering similarly to how it did back then. But looking at the boy staring back at you, your troubled mind found comfort in his eyes. Eyes that were calm like the grass that surrounded him, swaying softly as the wind brushed its soft fingers through it.
"Do you know how to play?" he asked you.
"N-no," you said meekly. "But if I learn, do you think I can be as good as you?"
And at that moment, the ball that was once in Wakatoshi's hands flew over to your direction. A small yelp escaped you, your arms flying up to protect your face.
"Maybe," was his only response as you huffed and picked the ball back up.
"I wasn't ready yet!" you tried acting mad but ended up laughing as the fifth-grader looked at you blankly once more. "Don't think I'm weak just because I'm a third-grader!"
"But if I thought you were weak wouldn't I have warned you before throwing the ball?" he retorted back.
"Oh yeah..." you said in sudden realization.
Ushijima's father, who was watching from the sidelines, couldn't help but laugh.
scene three; i smile
The warm beads of sand tickled your feet. The ocean waves flowing smoothly against the surface as it danced back and forth with the current. And the sun shined brightly above, casting a sheen against all that stood below it, basking everything in sunlight. It was a beautiful day.
Your family had decided to take a summer trip to the beach. It was the final week of your summer break, and once this was over, you would be coming back to school a fourth-grader.
You looked towards Ushijima and his father, having had tagged along after you had invited them. The olive-haired boy still wearing the same unwavering expression. You laughed at him despite yourself. You would think someone who was going to be in the sixth-grade, and soon a junior high-schooler would at least try to make himself seem more approachable.
You bowed to his father in greeting. The man smiling back at you before walking over to your parents for a chat, leaving you alone with Wakatoshi.
You had remained friends ever since the incident at the pool. Only having grown closer throughout the summer break with your frequent visits to his house.
"Toshi! Let's play beach volleyball!" you piped up at him as he looked at you curiously.
          "Sure," he said.
But you should have known with your volleyball skills not having improved much, that the game was going to end quicker than you thought.
Huffing in frustration, you plopped down onto the sand with your arms crossed.
"Why can't I be as good as you?" you asked him. Your eyes peering up at him as a small pout played on your face.
"Maybe you're just good at something else," he said, shoulders shrugging slightly.
"Like what?" you asked, only for him to shrug once more. Making an exasperated sigh escape your lips as you laid down on the sand.
"Why don't you try learning how to swim?" he asked suddenly, making your body jolt up. Your face looking up at his with bewilderment, was he insane?
"Woah, wait, what brought this up?" you asked him. "You know I can't!"
"Why not?" was his reply. Of course, that was his reply. "We're at a beach."
          "No," you said.
          "Why?"
"I might drown." you looked up at him, and his eyes softened ever so slightly. He knew why you were scared, but you couldn't just keep living your life having this one memory hold you back, right? Because even if he didn't say it outright, you were his friend. And friends care about each other and want them to be better.
"I'll teach you," he said. You looked at him with shock, but with his face looking oddly determined, you agreed begrudgingly.
The water felt cold against your body as you tried to float on top of it. With Toshi supporting you as he held you up, you tried to calm down.
But it wasn't working.
The feeling of having the air blocked out, the feeling of your vision blurring, and your body going into a panic. It kept playing at the back of your mind like he was going to let go and watch you sink deeper and deeper. You felt like shaking, maybe you were, but then suddenly—
"It's okay," he said, holding you tightly. "I won't let you go."
He looked at you carefully, attentively.
          "So just breathe."
He was right, it was okay.
You took a deep breath, letting the air fill your lungs, and the ocean breeze brush against your skin. He won't let go.
And soon it felt like you were floating, and you were. Toshi gently moving you around the water as your body continued to float against it. You looked at him, and you smiled.
It didn't take long until he started teaching you the basics of how to swim, or at least he tried to. You did now know how to float, but you still hadn't gotten over the fear of your head being below the water, and Toshi knew this.
"Take a deep breath," he said. And before you knew it, his hands covered your ears as he pushed both of your heads underwater.
It felt like you were entering a different realm. It felt peaceful, serene even. As he looked into your eyes to make sure you were okay, you stared back into his. The gentle hum of the ocean was something you never knew existed, its melody ringing in your covered ears as it almost lulled you to sleep.
It was because of him that you could hear such a beautiful song, and it was because of him you suddenly felt braver, stronger.
You brought your own hands up towards his ears, cupping them the same way his hands did with yours.
You wanted to stay like this forever, in this dream, with him.
But eventually, you had to come back up for air. Breathing in as the sunlight suddenly evaded your senses, you looked into his eyes, with a new fire evident in your own.
"One day, I'll definitely be as good as you," you said. And for the first time since meeting him at the pool that day, he smiled.
scene four; i like you
          "Nice receive!"
The gymnasium watched on carefully at the match playing before their eyes. It was the last day of their elementary school's sports festival and the volleyball game playing on its final set was keeping everyone on edge. It was a close game. The third set seemed never-ending as both teams fought back and forth in a deuce.
You watched Ushijima as he moved together with his team in what seemed like some sort of spontaneous choreography. They were at match point a few seconds ago, but that was until the spiker from the other team came forward, evening out the score, and bringing both teams' scores into the 30s.
You were biting your nails, the jacket you wore seeming to be useless against the chills running through your body at the intense match. Miraculously, however, the other team's serve went too far out and placed Ushijima's team back at match point. You gripped the metal bars in front of you, your gaze fixated onto the olive-haired boy. Your head felt like exploding as the internal chanting kept getting louder and louder. And that was probably because the chanting wasn't internal anymore.
"Ushijima Wakatoshi!" you screamed, catching the attention of both him and everyone else. "Show them how strong you really are!"
His face remained expressionless like it always was, but you could feel the aura around him change. It was almost as if the air started circling him, the air pressure shifting and rotating against all opposing currents. And you knew everyone else could feel the change too. Like everyone was getting sucked into a whirlpool, a vortex.
He jumped into the sky, the setted ball flying towards him as if it knew that was where it was meant to go.
You saw him bring his hand down, and you saw the ball hit the floor.
You watched as the ball flew back up just as quickly as it had hit the ground. The sound it emitted seemed almost high pitched and scattered as it resounded around the silent gymnasium. The scattered sound, like droplets of water that would be thrown up into the air, punched upwards by something crashing into it.
The ball was what crashed into it, a spike into water.
The game ended with your school's victory. The court divided in both triumph and failure, but it was a good game nonetheless.
You were walking alongside Ushijima, still as expressionless as ever. You looked at him and couldn't help but chuckle.
"You just won a hard game," you said, eyes locking on to his profile. "Shouldn't there at least be a tiny little smile?" you chuckled even more as you brought your fingers up to the ends of his mouth and hoisting them up to form a small, makeshift smile. It was good enough.
"I'm smiling in the inside," he said. You laughed at his attempt at being playful. But he was right. After knowing him for two years, you had grown a strange skill of identifying his moods. You knew he wasn't the type of person to wear his emotions on his face, but you knew more than anyone that he felt emotions just as intensely as anyone, if not more.
You looked at him some more, imagining what kind of smile he was wearing within himself. Would it be a goofy smile? Teeth butting out? Maybe with some gums showing?
Or would it be the small, proud smile he showed you that day at the beach? When he looked at you like you were the most amazing person in the world. Like you were his pride and joy, the strongest person he knew.
He smiled at you like that, yet whenever you looked at him, you almost felt like crying. To you, he was the most amazing person in the world. Your pride and joy, the strongest person you knew.
You looked at him, and wanted to love him.
You wanted to love the way his hair would turn darker when damp from sweat. The sweat that showed he had worked hard, that he had grown stronger and will continue to do so. You wanted to love the way he was always there for you when you needed him the most, even when you didn't know he was there. You wanted to love the way he looked at you. Fantasizing that maybe he would look at you, and want to love you too.
You wanted to love him, because you do.
You smiled at him, then looked forward ahead of you.
"Come to my game later," you said, determined. Finally having the chance to show him how hard you had worked. You zipped up your club jacket and continued looking ahead. You took a deep breath. Halting your steps, you looked at him.
"I'll show you how good I've gotten."
scene five; i’ll remember
The cold air of the pool washed over your entire body, sending a shiver down your spine. You looked around the room, the bright lights that shined from above you, the white walls that surrounded you, and the aquamarine tiles that were below you. You looked at the clear water that flowed calmly within its confinements.
And then you looked at him, into his eyes.
You smiled at him, a bittersweet smile. It was his last year as an elementary school student. Soon enough, he was going to leave you behind to fulfill greater heights. He was going to leap forward and fly higher and higher.
And so were you.
You were going to show him how far you've come. That you had become someone he could be proud of, someone that you could be proud of. You were both going to become stronger.
Together.
You were both going to go separate ways, towards two different paths. And as you took your position on the stand and the whistle resounded across the room. You leaped forward towards yours.
The water hit your face as your body started moving, hearing the same song you did at the beach, just with a different melody. The tempo was faster, you were faster. It was like your body was moving, dancing, through the water.
You felt at peace. The water that you used to fight with, the water that you couldn't get along with, had finally accepted you with open arms. Letting you move through it, forming a passage for you to cross.
There were many setbacks. Times when you receded back into the girl that almost drowned, that was scared of the water taking her. There were times when you would lose your calm and fumble. Times when you would think back to the fear and let it consume you.
You were waiting for that moment to happen, waiting for it to appear and devour you.
But it never came.
Instead what appeared were the memories you had with him. All the times you had been with him, and all the times he had been with you.
"I won't let you go," he said.
You wanted to thank him for these memories. Memories that helped you get through your hardest days, memories that made you remember that he was always going to be there no matter what, always beside you.
Even if he was going to graduate soon, and leave you behind. Even if there would come a day when you would have to say goodbye, you would always keep these memories he had given you, and never let them go. Promising to yourself that you would remember.
You would remember these memories, the ones that made you love him even more.
He watched you from the sidelines as your body seemed to move in sync with the water. Watched as your head peeked out momentarily, only to gracefully dive back in. It was as if you were performing a coordinated swing, dancing along to music he could not hear.
He looked at you and saw no trace of the girl drowning in the pool that day. You had come so far, and no words could express how proud he was as he watched you swim further ahead. No fear or hesitation apparent in your form. It was like you were a completely different person.
And then your head jumped out of the water after reaching the end of the pool, and it was as if you were reborn perfectly anew.
You locked eyes, and showed him the most radiant smile he had ever seen. How could he possibly not smile back?
He looked into your eyes that gleamed brilliantly at him. Eyes that conveyed words that only he could hear, and feelings only he could accept.
"I told you," his smile grew wider. "I told you I'd be just as good as you."
scene six; when you love someone
Ushijima was walking alongside you, who was smiling brightly, feet skipping. You were looking at him with the smile he had seen countless times. The smile that was so happy, it hurt him to see you any other way.
Whenever there were times that your smile would lose its joy, it's brilliance, he wanted to give it back to you. He would do whatever it took just for your smile to stay the same. It made his heart ache thinking about the times you weren't smiling, when you were weak and shaking in his arms.
But as he looked at you now, your hair slightly damp and your eyes shining like the moon that illuminated onto them so beautifully. He looked at you now and felt his heart sing with joy.
He remembered all those times he wanted to take your pain away. Those times when he would rather have your tears be his own. He almost wanted to curse himself for only being able to be with you, that the only thing he could do to ease the pain was to stand beside you.
He looked at you now and continued to watch you walk— grow.
Yet again, always beside him. And he felt happy.
His heart ached and soared at the same time. Just the mere thought of you sending shivers down his spine, his young mind was racing with these new feelings he didn't understand.
"It was an eventful day today," he said, trying his best at conversation.
"It was," you said back, your face turning to look at him and— your smile.
You're so beautiful.
The sparkle in your eyes, the pink of your cheeks, the curves of your lips, everything, everything was so beautiful.
And then, your smile softened, and soon vanished into a small frown.
He was distraught.
"Do you know," you trailed off slightly, your eyes dropping down onto the ground as you kept walking, "why I was drowning that day?"
"You didn't seem to want to talk about it," Ushijima said carefully.
You chuckled a bit, playing awkwardly with your hands.
"It wasn't anything serious." You continued, "Actually, it was kinda stupid, ya know?"
He nodded to you, still listening.
"Maybe..." you drifted off once more, "maybe that's why I was so scared to tell you, cause, I thought that you would think that I was really lame."
"I would never think that," he replied bluntly.
"Yeah," you looked at him again, a fragment of your smile coming back to your face. "I know."
He was still looking at you expectantly, though not inclined to ask you outright, he couldn't deny that he was curious.
"It was during swimming classes that my favorite necklace broke and fell into the pool." you laughed at yourself, cheeks heating up slightly.
"And so you decided to go back after school to try and get it out?" he asked, which only made you feel even dumber.
"Yeah..." you said, before huffing and replying, "but it was my favorite necklace, okay?!"
"Okay," he replied, looking at you.
You stopped in your tracks and stared at him dumbly.
"Y-You're not gonna call me dumb?" you said.
"No," he said. "Do you want me to?"
"No!" you coughed. "I mean, no."
"Okay then," he replied once more before walking again.
"I just thought—" you sighed. "I thought you would laugh at me."
He looked at you. You were frowning with your eyes focused down onto your shoes, the smile he loved nowhere to be seen. You had just won a competition, why were you so gloomy all of a sudden?
"We all did foolish things when we were younger," he tried his best to cheer you up, to have you smiling again. "It's nothing to be ashamed of."
You perked up at him slightly. Almost there.
"What kind of necklace was it?" Please give me your smile again.
"It was silver, with a little feather pendant attached to it," you said, your small smile growing ever so lightly. Just a little more.
"I see," he said, watching you intently. Waiting for your smile to grace him with its presence once more, please let me make you smile.
He stopped dead in his tracks, causing you to do the same. Turning his body towards yours, he looked at your confused face. Your face looked so pretty under the street lamp, the dull lighting draping over your features so casually. But he knew that your smile could outshine the lamp tenfold. So please, just smile, be happy.
He brought his index fingers to the corners of his mouth, stretching them up and forming a wide makeshift smile.
You're so beautiful when you're happy.
You started laughing, and his heart was overjoyed.
He hoped you could hear him, hear his heart beating— singing for you.
And so as you laughed at him, the smile he loved so much making its way back to your face, he promised to do everything he could to make it stay.
All your struggles, all your pain, he would carry them for you. Because that's what you do; when you love someone.
scene seven; i need somebody
You smiled brightly at the slightly flustered Ushijima, his fingers that were once on the corners of his mouth now falling back down to his sides. You watched him look at you, and the frown that you had earlier made its way back to your face.
You wanted to prepare yourself— prepare him for what you had to say. No matter how much you thought about it, you couldn't find the right words and rambled instead. But even in your struggles and indecisiveness, you had to tell him.
"Toshi," you started. Feeling the lump in your throat as you stared into his olive eyes. You eventually turned and looked away. "Where are you going for junior high?"
A simple, evasive question, it was all you could muster.
He seemed to have thought nothing of it, "Shi—" but that was until he stopped, and stumbled. But even with his momentary uncertainty and falter, he still looked at you.
"Shiratorizawa," he finally said to you.
          "Shiratorizawa?"
Your face dropped as the sudden realization dawned upon you, and Ushijima had no choice but to watch silently. You had expected it— knew that this was how it was going to happen, yet the true reality of the situation had only hit you now. After all the desire for improvement and strength had calmed down, all that was left was you and him, standing in front of each other in a dimply lit alley, cursed with the impending fate of a goodbye.
Your soft eyes started to fill with unknowing tears, gazing back into his with a look of hurt and melancholy. It pained him, to see the person he cared so much about, shrink back into the weak, vulnerable girl he had met all those years ago.
But you could still visit each other, he thought. Your houses were still close. Nothing needed to change, right?
"Oh," you said. "My family and I are moving to Australia."
"Oh," he said back. "I see."
"Yeah..." you fiddled with your fingers, the lights above you flickering.
You thought that it was over, it was done. There was nothing else that was needed to be said. And so you turned and walked away, even when you didn't want to.
You wanted to turn around and hug him, tell him that you didn't want to go. Cry into his arms and listen to him. Listen to how his heart was beating too fast, listen to him breathing unsteadily. Listen to him as he would mutter a weak invitation to his graduation ceremony, that he wanted you to stay, with him.
But none of it came, there was no invitation, there were no hugs, and no turning back.
You wanted to stop and— just stop and not go, to stay. But you didn't.
And he didn't stop you.
Ushijima spiked the ball hard into the other side of the court. Feeling all the adrenaline rush in with the unwelcome resurgence of memories fogging his mind into an intense haze.
He suddenly remembered the way your eyes shined in the moonlight that very night. The way your face glowed and your hair cascaded down your shoulders, he remembered you, and your smile.
Why did it have to be now that he would remember you, yearn for you, after all these years of painful acceptance? Why did it have to be now that he would be overwhelmed by the questions of what if?
He couldn't explain it. The thought that was being pushed through the forefront of his mind, the light buzzing and banging. Like something was screaming at him to do something, and getting louder and louder.
He looked across the crowd, the opposing team having called for a timeout. He looked across the cheer squad and large drums. The banging ringing in his ears louder than ever, maybe he was just going crazy?
But with the sinking feeling that he was getting closer to something, he let the moment of insanity slide for now. He kept looking, scanning every face that came into view. That maybe there was something— someone he needed to see.
And then he saw you. Your eyes shining, face glowing, hair cascading down your shoulders, everything. He saw you, and you saw him. Your mouth coming up and forming that smile he loved so much. You always smiled at him so perfectly, but more than that, you were here, cheering for him.
He ignored the strange looks his coaches and teammates were giving him. He was aware that they probably thought he was going through it, because maybe he was. He just couldn't believe it. You were right there.
He then heard the familiar whistle blow across the gym. And he was momentarily knocked out of his daze. He sent you one last look, and ignored all his questions, when, why, and how you were here was something he could deal with at another time. Because when he finally stepped back onto the court, he was stepping in for you.
For all the moments you had, and all the moments you didn't. For all the words that had been said and the words that could have. He stepped in for you, for the girl that stole his heart all those years ago. He stepped in for the two of you and what could have been.
scene eight; all alone
The gymnasium fell silent as the game came to its end. The court divided with mixed emotions of celebration and loss. Ushijima looked at you from the crowd, smiling reassuringly at him. He felt relieved.
Leaving the gym, Ushijima headed back to where he placed his gym bag. Jogging idly towards it, he picked it up and slung it over his shoulder.
He sat down inside the bus, utterly exhausted. The match had taken its toll on every player, and Ushijima was no exception to its physical and mental turmoil. He let out a prompt sigh.
The bus was surprisingly quiet, given that Tendou was inside, but he guessed even an eccentric like him had his limits, and he couldn't fault him for that. He instead took this moment of tranquility to organize his feelings.
He saw you again. After almost three years of distance, you were finally back.
He unzipped his gym bag and found his hands enclosing around a box. He took it out and examined it like he had many times before. Carefully opening it, he stared as the light from outside shined onto the silver of the necklace, from the clasp to the feather pendant that hung upon it. It was still in perfect shape, from all the times Ushijima dreamed of giving it to you one day. And that chance had finally come, three years later.
He let his mind wander to the moments he wanted to share with you, the words he wanted to say. He wondered what it was like for you all these years if you were happy and experienced precious memories just like he did. There was so much he wanted to know, wanted to ask.
So much he wanted to make up for.
He sighed and leaned back into his seat. You didn't even notify him that you were coming back, it was all so sudden. Were you going to attend high school in Japan? Which school?
He was going to graduate soon, just like three years ago. The term was almost over, and the school was already accepting new students. There was a possibility, but one he was reluctant in letting himself believe in or more or less hope for. He wondered if he was just getting his hopes up.
He wondered about all the options, all the possibilities. Did you just come back to watch that one game? Did he already miss his shot as soon as he got the chance?
He massaged his forehead briskly and decided to sleep on it. He was too tired to think too deeply about anything at the moment. If he really wanted to know, he would just have to find you and ask you himself. And maybe then he would be able to tell you he was in love with you.
And find out that you were in love with him too.
scene nine; you were beautiful
Ushijima walked through the crowd of people occupying the hallway. It was louder than usual, the students already making plans for summer break with the term almost at its end.
He was on his way to practice, but that was until a figure started walking by his side. He first paid no mind to it and kept walking, only sneaking a glance and seeing— you.
He stopped.
"Hey," you said to him, smiling. "It's been a while."
"Yeah," was all he could say.
"It was a good game," you said. "Yesterday."
          "We lost."
          "Yeah."
There was a long pause.
"I'm a student here now," you said, looking at him. "Though I came in pretty late."
"Yeah," he replied as you kept walking.
"How have you been these past few years?"
          "Playing volleyball," he replied promptly.
          "I see," you replied.
The tension was killing him. His eyes focused in front of him and refusing to look towards you. He couldn't look at you.
Maybe it was just all the years catching up to him, or the sight of you after so long messing with his brain. He couldn't know. All the memories that flooded him, the feelings that overwhelmed him, it was too much for even him to handle. He couldn't take it.
Back when the dimly lit light flickered above the both of you on that narrow alleyway, the moon high above in the night sky.
You were so beautiful.
Your eyes that looked at him, your voice that called out to him, your smile that was always directed towards him. Everything, everything about you was everything to him.
He looked at you finally.
"Why did you leave?" he asked you. The one question that had been eating at him all this time for the past three years.
All this time of yearning for you to come back, and now that you were finally here, eyes the same color, hair slightly shorter, smile just as bright as it always was. He wanted so many things, but nothing more at the same time. He didn't want anything else but for you to stay in his presence, beside him like how it was always supposed to be. He didn't want anything more.
All his ambitions and questions could be left unrewarded and unanswered. He just wanted back the moments only you could give him. Everything that passed, everything that was missed, he wanted it more than anything. He clenched his fist inside his uniform pocket tightly.
"My mom got a new job," you said. "I'm sorry I never fully explained."
          "It's okay."
He started walking again, and so did you.
"Would you like to attend my graduation ceremony?" he asked you.
"I'd love to," you replied, looking forward.
He didn't cry when you walked away. Back then, when everything so simple suddenly became complicated.
Back when the tears he saw leave your eyes were turned into anger in his refusal to believe that you had parted on such sad terms. He thought that maybe it would be easier to move on when his last memory of you looked at him in anger. That maybe, he could erase the tears from his mind and have you hate him instead. He realized that it was all just sad foolishness.
He remembered— accepted the fact that what happened was nobody's fault. That both your hearts had shattered, and it was no one's fault.
You were both making your way closer to the end of the hallway, the crowds of people disappearing slightly, the space feeling less cramped. He could feel you looking at him, your eyes focused on his profile. This was a normal thing between the two of you, but three years had passed, and he had no idea how much he had missed these simple habits.
He missed all the moments that seemed mundane to him back then, when you would walk beside him, look at him, play volleyball with him, no matter how bad you were. He missed all of it, he missed—.
          "I missed you," you said.
He looked at you and paused.
          "Thank you," he said back.
You smiled.
It was these mundane moments that made you so beautiful. Back then, even when the tears stained your face, you still looked beautiful. When your eyes, for what he thought was the last time, looked at him. When your voice spoke out to him, back then, when no matter how hard he tried, you still seemed to slowly become a movie of the past. No matter the moment, no matter the circumstance, you looked so beautiful.
But it was these mundane moments that made him fall in love with you even more.
He clutched the necklace in his pocket even tighter.
Both of you finally stopped at the end of the long corridor. Both of you on your way to do club work, but in the opposite direction. You both wanted to laugh, it all seemed like some kind of fate, but even then, you decided to smile it away.
He brought out his hand from his pocket, still holding the silver necklace. He hesitated, but looked at you anyway.
He reached his hand out to you, the chain hanging from his fingers. You took one look at it, then looked into his eyes. The eyes you could read so well, looked at you like he wanted to convey so much but nothing else at the same time.
You hugged him. You hugged him tightly. His hands wrapped around you gently. Enclosing you into his personal bubble, for all the people left in the hallway to see.
"Thank you," was all you decided to say.
"I missed you," he said. And it was all he needed to say back.
You parted from him, your hand carefully taking the necklace from his, the light from the window beside the two of you shining on it, making it sparkle.
He started walking the other way, and so did you. But he stopped and turned around, and so did you.
He looked at your eyes, the smallest shine playing on his own.
"Don't let it break this time," he said.
And you smiled once again.
          "I won't," you said.
scene ten; i loved you
The hall was loud and happy, filled with celebration and melancholy as the students of Ushijima's batch graduated, some parting ways and some making plans to stay.
He looked at the audience that clapped for them and saw you. A small smile played on his lips as a bright one was proudly displayed on your own.
He looked around him and at his teammates, proud that they had come this far together, smiles on their faces like everyone else.
After thanking each of them one by one, he looked back at you, who smiled and flicked your head towards the exit. He nodded and started following you, leaving the graduation hall.
"Where exactly are we going?" he asked.
"You'll see," you showed him your smile, and he couldn't refuse you.
You grabbed his hand as you started walking faster along the endless hallway, and soon enough, you were both standing in front of the indoor swimming pool. You both made your way inside and turned on the lights.
"One day, I'm gonna become the captain," you said as you crossed your arms proudly. Ushijima nodded seriously.
"I'm sure you can," he said, and you smiled at him.
You took his hand and dragged him towards the edge of the pool, eliciting a confused look on Ushijima's face.
"Can I be a tad bit cheesy?" you asked, looking into his eyes. Your back was facing the pool as you stood on the edge, Ushijima standing in front of you.
"What do you mean?" he asked, but your arms already made their way around his neck.
You smiled at him cheekily and leaned back into the pool, causing both of you to crash into it. Your bodies started sinking into the pool, Ushijima's eyes slightly wider from shock while you continued to look at him from underwater.
Your heads eventually shot out of the water, clothes wet and hair damp. You started laughing.
"I've always wanted to do that!" you laughed louder as you looked at Ushijima's dumbfounded face. He clearly was not expecting what just happened.
Seeing him so unusually expressive made you want to tease him even more, like the Toshi you knew from all those years back.
You swiftly ran your hand across the surface of the water, splashing him in the face as you giggled even more. Toshi looked at you in slight shock, yet a small smile played underneath his stoic features. He brought his hand up and splashed water right back at you, making you squeal and swim backward, laughing.
You didn't know how much time had passed with you splashing water at each other, how long you two had lapped around the pool trying to catch each other, laughing, and enjoying each other's presence.
You looked at him, who had a rare smile on his face, and realized just how much you yearned for this moment. His eyes that stared back into you, and your heartbeat that started beating faster than before, you realized just how much the memories with him meant to you. You used to be content with looking back at the memories you had created all those years ago, but now it was different. Both of you were different.
It wasn't enough anymore to reminisce about past memories. You wanted, needed to make more, with him.
Even with the thought that he would once again be swept away by the many opportunities that awaited him, but even then, you still felt happy. He was on his way to accomplishing so many great things that you couldn't help but look at him, his hair wet and uniform ruined, yet he still looked happy, with you in this moment.
You started swimming towards him, eyes never once leaving his. The water around you flowing against your body softly as it almost pushed you towards him. You giggled as you got closer.
You were now in front of him, hands on his shoulders and eyes staring in his. You smiled softly at him.
"Take a deep breath," you said, and before he knew it, your hands covered his ears as you pushed both of your heads underwater.
The water engulfed the two of you as it's serene hum blinded your senses. You looked into his eyes that stared back at you, and his hands that made its way to cover your own ears.
It was like you were back in the ocean with him when you were still children, but it was also so different.
You were both grown now, with feelings that had developed over time, or maybe they were always there.
You stared into his eyes as he did the same, lips inching closer and closer. You smiled brightly at him one last time before you kissed him gently. You pulled away and rested your forehead against his until Toshi brought his face closer and pecked your lips again.
You had no idea how long the both of you had held your breaths underwater, but you had no plans to find out. With your lips moving softly against one another, and your bodies held in a tranquil state under the swimming pool water, you couldn't care less.
The two of you in each other's arms, hands covering ears, and hearts falling deeper in love.
Just the two of you, in that moment, with no other forces pulling you apart.

Time was running out and I still didn’t have a place to stay. I can still hear my fathers voice telling me that no bender belongs in their family. I never asked to be born a bender, but it was a part of me. Something I couldn’t deny and my parents didn’t want to accept that. I had tried to keep my practicing a secret but my little sister let it slip that I was working on fire bending. I thought I would resent her for the slip up, but nothing in me could hate her for it, she meant no harm. Even still that slip up cost me my relationship with my family. There was no hesitation in throwing me out. We fought and screamed and eventually I lost my temper and my emotions boiled over. As tears spilled down my face I burned down our whole dining room area. That right there is what solidified me never being able to return to my family.
“You monster! Look at what you did! Get your things and leave, you’re not our daughter anymore,” my mother spat at me in disgust. I ran as fast as I could to gather my things and slipped out in the dead of night.
Since then I haven’t seen or heard from my family and it hurt so bad. Even if they didn’t accept who I was I just wanted to be loved and cherished by them and I would never get that. It was hard to go a day without a lump forming in my throat and my eyes welling up, but I had to be strong and determined for myself. Three weeks at the shelter had already been wasted and they only allotted a month for you to get back on your feet.
Most days were spent trying to find some sort of income, most jobs were just quick money, but I was closer and closer to finding steady income soon. If I wasn’t looking for a job I was trying to find a place to stay. Most, of not all were out of my price range. I ended up back at the shelter day after day discouraged and frustrated by my lack of luck. The staff at the shelter were getting increasingly annoyed by my outbursts of anger and flame and I’m sure they were happy that I was almost out of there. Granted I felt bad about being destructive but they always gave me a tight smile and assured me that things will get better.
And today was the day things got better. I almost squealed out of happiness seeing the paper plastered on a bulletin board at the pro-bending arena. I thought I wasn’t reading it right, but after a few moments I knew it was true.
The poster read,
“2 BROTHER IN NEED OF A ROOMMATE
•Three bedroom loft just above the pro-bending arena
•Great view of Air temple Island
•100 Yuans a month
If interested just knock on our door
- Mako and Bolin”
That’s all I needed. I ripped off the poster and made my way to the loft. I didn’t care who they were, just the fact that 100 yuans was totally doable. I had about 500 yuans saved up from the little jobs I had done here and there and the little bit I had saved from birthdays. I nearly sprinted my way to the loft and left myself breathless in front of the door. I was too excited to even feel nervous as I started knocking. Practically banging until the door swung up.
“Is it that necessary to bang?” Before me stood a very attractive. Like very attractive man. Tall and even a bit lanky. He towered over me. And while he seemed serious he didn’t seem too intimidating. Maybe it he was and I just couldn’t realize it because I was so determined at this opportunity.
“Yes. Definitely,” I rushed out quickly as I pushed past him. I took a look around and while it was simple, it was perfect. Roomy and open and a great view through big windows. The light flooring made the place seem so much bigger too. “Are you going to tell me who you are since you just barged in like you own the place?” I turned back towards the tall man and saw him narrow his eyes and his hands twitch. His eyes were like fire.
“Oh yeah sorry, I’m y/n and I’m most definitely going to own this place,” I nodded my head assuringly, more for myself then for him, “well not own, but at least pay rent,” I waved the poster a bit.
“Okay okay before you introduce yourself let me guess which brother you are,” I surveyed him and then looked at the poster with the names. Bolin didn’t really seem to fit so I went with the latter. “I’m gonna guess your Mako. I feel that it fits with your whole persona you got going on,” I smiled, but he just stood there wordlessly, “Oh wow I’m so sorry I know I must sound crazy and very upfront right now. I’ve just been desperately trying to find a place to stay. My parents kicked me out and I have no where else to go. I’ve been stuck at the shelter and my time is almost up and I saw this poster and I thought this was my lucky break. Now I’m just rambling...” I trailed off and was surprised at how honest I was.
“Mako! Who are you talking to down there?” My head whipped towards where the sound came from and saw a form jump down the stairs and landed loudly on our level. And once he straightened out I was faced with ANOTHER gorgeous man. What the hell have I gotten myself in to!? My breathing stopped as I got a good look at him. He was stocky and you could tell he had thick arms and legs without him even taking his clothes off. His broad build and wide stance lead me to believe he was an earth bender and his emerald green eyes were something to get lost in. I shook my head waving these thoughts away. These are potential roommates, not people to drool over.
“I’m y/n I’m trying to find a place to stay and I luckily found your poster. I hope no one has taken you guys up on the offer,” I smiled sheepishly. I fiddled with the poster looking down, “I promise I’ll be a great roommate, I can cook and clean and I’ll stay out of your way-“ I was trying to plead my case and ultimately got cut off
“You’re perfect!” Emerald eyes broke out into the cutest grin there could be “let’s get you moved in right away! Are you a bender? I’m an earth bender,” he flexed his arms subtly, “My brother and I are pro-benders and that’s how we get to live up here in the loft. Oh by the way I’m Bolin. We’ve had people try to be our roommate, but they’ve all been a bit... how do you say serial killer-esque,” he grimaced at the last sentence. He was so much more talkative and charismatic than Mako who I guess was the older brother. Had to be serious to contain this ball of energy.
“BOLIN! you can’t just let her move in we need to discuss this together. We barely know her!” Mako clenched his jaw.
“Well, what do you want to know?” I asked quietly looking back and forth between the two.
They both started firing questions at me. Bolin a bit more enthusiastically than Mako. His questions were also a bit more light hearted. Favorite color, food, what my hobbies were and easy things like that. Mako on the other hand was digging real deep asking questions that I wasn’t even sure I wanted to answer, but I knew they had to be said.
“What did you do to get kicked out?” Mako looked at me with an accusatory glare.
“I didn’t do anything!” My eyes welled up, “I got kicked out for being who I am! I’m a fire bender and no one else in my family has there bending ability. They are so against it. My whole life was a battle. I wished so bad they would love and cherish me even, but all they wanted to do was suppress who I am,” I started crying without shame and I knew the boys didn’t know what to do, “My sister let it slip that is have been practicing bending. I’ve gotten away with it for 10 years and it just now became known,” Bolin handed me a tissue with the utmost concern in his eyes. Even Mako looked a little sad, “Well, my family disowned me immediately and in the midst of our fight I lost control and burn our dining room to bits and that made them hate me even more. So, here I am a month later trying really desperately for two brothers to let me become their roommate,” I smiled weakly my face sticky with drying tears.
“Alright you can stay but I need the first two months rent right now. Please don’t make us regret this. I feel for you and your hardships, but if you do anything to fuck over what we have I won’t hesitate to throw you out,” Mako looked at me sternly and Bolin was almost jumping with excitement.
“REALLY!??” I practically screeched. I rummaged through my bag and threw the money at Mako all while pulling him into a bone-crushing hug. I moved to Bolin and did the same thing.
“You guys won’t regret this I promise!”
