#rip that carbink
flowerliker · 11 months
Note
A package, about 1 cubic foot in size, it is held closed by a large sticker with a Koffing-motif (and a lot of duct tape)
Within are 2 large sheets of stickers, one with flower Pokémon (like Sunflora and Roselia) and one with ground dwelling Pokémon (like Dunsparce and Carbink) . There are six jars in the package. The first is a jar of Magost berry jam. The second jar contains dried berries of different kinds, though all are sweet tasting. The third and fourth are jars of Vespiquen-Honey made at the farm that Tix parents own. The fifth is a tea made of various berries and herbs, labelled "Natural Trichloromethane". The sixth jar also contains a tea, but it's made mainly from herbs and flower petals, it's labelled "Anti-Anxiety-Potion".]
There is also a letter at the bottom if the package. It reads
"Dear Bryony, dear Ren,
I hope this reaches you well. I'm still a bit shocked about what happened, but i hope your recovery is going well. I told you already, but if you need help, don't be afraid to reach out. In the meantime, i hope these little treats can make your situation a little bit more enjoyable. Don't be put off by the Trichloromethane though, i made the name up a few years ago when i was in an... edgy... phase and it kinda stuck. It's only natural ingredients. But if you have trouble sleeping, try a cup, there's nothing better than this (except maybe getting hit by a sleep powder). As for the other tea, it always helps me calm down if i feel overwhelmed. I'd suggest putting a little honey in it though, it tastes quite bitter otherwise. And if you put in a dash if lemon juice, it'll turn to a wonderful purple color as well, i think it's a great recipe.
I wish you all the best
- Tix"
[The next page details the ingredients of all the treats as well as instructions for the teas. Attached to the back is a portrait photo of Muffin the Budew]
- @koffing-time
[a photo of all the jars on a kitchen table, with the sticker sheets next to them too. the koffing sticker also makes an appearance—bryony very carefully carved it out of the duct tape so as not to rip it while opening the box.]
oh my gosh look at all this!!!!! 🥺 tix this is so much, are you sure this is ok??? oh wow i am not always a tea person but i am sooooo so so excited to try all of these, i had a little bit of the sleepy tea last night and it really did the trick!!!! 😴 it tastes sooooo good with the honey, and i am so excited about all the little treats too. this was sooooo so so thoughtful of you, i really can't say how grateful i am. thank you so much for thinking of us!!!!! 💛 i'm really really happy, thank you!!!

for the pokemon ask: mareep, flaafy and ampharos!
Side bar the "do androids dream of electric sheeps" are a fucking adorable evo line and RIP Mega Ampharos randomly getting Electric/Dragon and being beautiful and an absolute monster in Trick Room (speed stats reversed)
Mareep: What is your favourite base form Pokemon?
I'm assuming this is a Pokemon that doesn't evolve and just stays in one form, in that case it's a tie between Diancie and Kanghaskhan. Technically (I think?) doesn't Diancie come from Carbink? But they're not evolutionarily connected in the Dex (like these new water Digletts in Gen 9 that aren't connected to the OGs). Part of why they're my favorites is because of their Mega Evolutions (Kangaskhan just casually attacking twice every time...evil lol) but I also just love that since Gen 1 K and their babies are always considered one unit (like the Maushould family in Gen 9). And Diancie is just aesthetically perfect to me, it's so pretty and strong and can learn Earth Power
Flaaffy: What is your favourite first evolution?
Teddiursa hands down. I rarely if ever evolve them. Pokemon Go is giving me tons right now and idc lol I just like looking at them. It was my first ever shiny when I played Gold version as a kid and I recently found another so it's pure nostalgia
Ampharos: What is your favourite second evolution?
I wanna say Croconaw (Feraligatr's second) but I'm gonna have to give it to Floragato from this new one. The name alone let alone the design. Chef's kiss

A) Do you make Pokémon teams inspired by OCs? and B) If ya do, is each Mon representative of An OC or does each Character get a few mons each?
i actually had some mons planned out for them! not full teams, between 1-3 each, and i started drawing it but i never finished :') (story of my life lol)
they all serve a specific purpose to the OC's personality/job of course
---
Yukure had Riolu, Sylveon, and Meganium (since he's a therapist)
Riolu to help gage his client's emotions, Meganium to help relax the patient, and Sylveon for worst case intervention.
His Riolu hasn't evolved yet, because Yukure usually works nights and hasn't gotten around to training him in the day. (rip lol... incidentally, if you were to draw Yukure as a Pokemon, Riolu or Lucario would be the go)
---
Ranzatsu focuses on being gaudy and beautiful since he deliberately stands out so as not to be forgotten.
Going with the dragon theme, he has Milotic, Gyarados (Shiny), Dragonair (Shiny), and maybe a Spritzee just to be obnoxious. (Yukure won't let him keep it in the house)
(If you were to draw Ran as a pokemon, the Shiny Dragonair would be the best match to his powers)
---
April obviously has a Meowth (Kantonian), front and center. Maybe even a Persian. (if drawing her as a pokemon, Meowth would be the pick)
She also has a Nickit (helps steal stuff with Meowth), and Carbink (One of their prizes). She really wants a Gholdengo, but hasn't gotten enough coins yet, so her Gimmighoul stays home in her attic.
---
Lyle and Arcelia specifically are tricky, because they are kind of inseparable, I honestly need to work on them more to know what mons they'd have.
Arc herself has a lot in common with Gardevoir, but idk if that means it would represent her, or if she would have one. The logical conclusion then would be that Lyle would have/be represented by Gallade, which isn't a bad idea, but hey.
I could see Lyle having a Jolteon and Arc having an Arcanine though, cuz Lyle borrows Arc's needle powers/under the cool facade he's an emotional wreck, and Arcanine for Arc because Arc is also a fluffy doggy that can eat u :) (Also maybe a Houndoom for Arc, but that's spoilers)
---
Falke has a Magnemite (holding his tools), Cubone (serves as a ground when working with electiricity + they're both lonely af), and Cinccino (resistant to static electricity, helps keep things clean)
---
Mirale has a female Pyroar (always kinda associated her with Pumas in general), Haxorus (she primarily uses axes), Galarian Farfetch'd (Mirale is a fighter and can use any weapon in a pinch!), and Aegislash (spoilers).
Also at some point a Golurk given to her by Freya
---
Tomasso is the chef, so he has Delibird (food storage), a male Combee (sweetener + somewhat reflects Tomasso's backstory), and Slurpuff (to smell and see if ingredients are still good)
---
Freya is mostly spoiler reasons, but she has a Reuniclus (could use powers, but instead just smashes if forced to fight), Mawile (looks cute, can annihilate you), and either a Shaymin or an Enamorous (maybe both)
ty for the ask! 💖

I've seen rika defender said "people want mentaly ill people like rika to die!!!111". And like, it does sound bad, but who are mentaly ill people like rika? Jimn Jones? Charles Manson? I want people like that be in prison, not to die, but can't blame people who want them dead. Rika defenders are funny sometimes
Rika really needed help but she never got it and later in life when she could get help she was too far gone that it didn’t help. Starting a cult didn’t help her and certainly didn’t help the people she claimed she wanted “help” and “save”.
Rika’s story is sad and it sucks that she has a mental illness but she can’t use that as a shield from all the shit she did, she has to own up to it.

Pokemon Legends Ideas
speaking of pokemon though...
ideas for the various Pokemon Legends remake line:
Pokemon Legends: The Ancient Jungle/Mew
Based on an ancient jungle environment where fossil and dinosaur pokemon thrive an abound, the environment is thick muggy jungle and the lore of the game focuses on the discovery of the ancient pokemon Mew perhaps by following clues related to the origins of Ditto as potentially related to Mew, side stories about the origins of the legendary bird pokemon (also, even though Lugia is gen 2, perhaps he could be included here since hes the supposed leader of the bird trio? and the Johto game would focus on Ho-oh and the Beasts anyway) Mewtwo obivously wouldn’t feature but that’s fine he doesn’t need to, could easily have stories about Meltan and Melmetal instead, who are ancient pokemon
Pokemon Legends: The Burned Tower/Ho-oh
Based on a more traditional ancient Japanese style retelling of the origins of Ho-oh and the Legendary Beast trio, see the original tower burned, maybe finally see who exactly were the three original pokemon lost in the flames? with side stories about Celebi’s ancient forest and it’s travels through time but also GIVE ME UNOWN LORE BLEASE
Pokemon Legends: The Great Meteor/Jirachi
Goes into the ancient stories of the draconid people introduced in the delta episode of the ORAS remakes, Primal Ancient Kyogre and Groudon, at the peak of their power, a time where meteors constantly fell upon the earth and the first ever Mega-Evolution of Rayquaza, from the wish the first lorekeeper made upon the rainbow stone (Maybe this was originally just Jirachi themselves), plenty of side story content in the form of the Regi’s (Including Regigigas and Regidraco/Regieleki) and the twin Latias/Latios
Pokemon Legends: Arceus, duh
(but I can hope it’s not JUST Arceus, ples give some spotlight to the tons of underused in lore legendaries this gen, Darkrai, Cresselia, Shaymin, Manaphy, HEATRAN)
Pokemon Legends: The First Dragon/Kyurem/??? Pokemon that might have a different name then Kyurem
OBVIOUSLY gonna be about the first dragon, the true singular form of the original dragon that split into Kyurem, Reshiram and Zekrom and the conflict between the early factions of humans hinted from the story of black and white, give the Justice trio (Terrakion, Cobalion, Virizion, Keldeo) some side story content in the form of being active in those ancient human conflicts, Victini lore, the weather trio representing the wilderness of nature back in those times, Genesect very likely wouldn’t be a thing, but Meloetta could
Pokemon Legends: The Ultimate Weapon/Zygarde
Huge potential here for a pokemon game set during the great kalosian WAR, view the original stories of King AZ and the unique floette, how their story happened, give Zygarde some sort of role or function as antagonist against those who would create the weapon out of a captured Zerneas/Yveltal in it’s role as balancer of the natural order, easy easy side content stories, flesh out Diancie’s connection to the Carbinks, go into the story of that huge crystal sundial of Anistar City, Hoopa gots some cool stuff, and Volcanion could even have a role as something cool
Pokemon Legends: Ultra Space/Necrozma
While they could focus on Magearna for this game, since Magearna is the only pokemon with some Ancient Lore from within the region itself attached to it from this gen, I fell like Sun and Moon’s fancy legends game would actually be better served by exploring much deeper into the role of the Ultra Space, you get glimpses of the alien worlds when visiting the ultra beasts natural habitats, and you get the main Necrozma based city in ultraspace
Modern Alola is actually already very traditional, already holding fast to ancient observations and traditions that going back to plain olden times alola I feel wouldn’t do as much? Esp cuz all the interesting stuff back then the aura and totem Pokémon, all happened because of Necrozma’s fall into the world from Ultra Space
I think the intro would be best served as starting in the distant past of Alola sure, but then Necrozma falls out of Ultra Space, rips open a wormhole, and our protagonist is then Sucked Into it and their journey is throughout the cosmos of the space inbetween and giving legendary like lore to the actual Ultra Beasts themselves, Lunala and Solgaleo and Cosmog/Cosmoem originate from here anyway, so they could still be included in this story as our way back, perhaps as our original ally in the fight to stop Necrozma from devouring all the light of our world in the travels through ultra space
Marshadow and Zeraora should get some obvious love as well for sure
Pokemon Legends: The Darkest Day/Eternatus
So it’s true that we have a clear once a time story with the darkest day event from Eternatus’s history
but funnily enough, I kinda always figured that that “Darkest day” was actually Necrozma’s doing that got falsely attributed to Eternatus, since yknow, in eating of the light of the world, the day would actually darken, and doesn’t Eternatus look REALLY like something that popped out of an Ultra Wormhole? really makes you think...certainly would be a hell of a coincedence
On the flipside for “okay but what else would they do in ancient galar”, I feel like if they did do a Galar Legends game, I think a pokemon King Arthur type legendary story would be very cool, just legit make a pokemonized King Arthur/Calyrex story and we would go Nuts over it
sooo, Pokemon Legends: The Old Kingdom/Calyrex
obviously Calyrex and his steeds would be the main focus of this ancient tale with some sprinklings of Zacian/Zamazenta, but really when you glean through the ancient stories hidden in the galar, more of it focuses on the Acnient Kings of the galar region, and really Eternatus already got explored enough in the actual galar games anyway, give me the Dark Hidden Lore of Galar
but again, still some very cool side content with Zarude and Urshifu at least and perhaps maybe a tad more of the cuckoo galarian bird trio? make it tie all the way back to Legends Kanto game somehow? Ancient bird rivalry between twin trios of legendary birds would be a neat thing to explore
though how neat would it be if they actually tied all fo the ancient apolcalyptic stories from across the regions into one connected story?
in Hoenn it was that a great meteor threatened to destroy the planet so person wishes on a falling shiny rock to make the apocalypse go away, SunMoon has Necrozma darkening the sky and eating the light and when they got shattered it caused powerful shiny rocks to coalesce out of the sky, SwordShield had twin kings wish upon a magic shiny rock to make the darkest day go away
hey wait a minute, seeing a pattern there...
wonder if the great war of kalos old was also fought under some sky darkening event? and if it also involved the magical power of some shiny rock? and each region’s story is just their personal twist on the same ancient event, in the land of old, when all regions were once one...
what if the ancient conflict in Black/White’s history was actually the same war from kalos’s history? And it was actually a war between Unova and Kalos? Same war from two different sides of the conflict

Sableye, please? It's my favorite.
Tumblr media
SABLEYE!!!!
Sableye’s a creepy little gem-eating fellow whomst I thoroughly adore. It’s seemingly based on Hopskinville Goblins, cryptids originating from Kentucky with shining eyes, clawed arms, and swaying hips much like Sableye in some 3D games. A Ghost/Dark-type, it has probably the spookiest possible type combination possible (which before Fairy, had no weaknesses!). And with the gemstone eyes, it has an incredibly unsettling look to it. Though you can’t really tell in the Sugimori art, it’s got some great vibes that mix fun with creepy in a rather unique way, too.
Tumblr media
See what I mean???? You don’t see it all the time, but Sableye’s got a WICKED smile filled with rows of sharp, perfectly triangular teeth: ideal for eating gems! This is what gives Sableye its real appeal, I feel – without the teeth, it’s still pleasantly eerie, but with the teeth, it’s just got so much PERSONALITY. This is further compounded by the unnatural, twitchy movements it often has in the 3D games. I do wish the Sugimori art showed the teeth though, because prior to my awareness of the teeth I didn’t love Sableye even half as much as I do. They’re SO GOOD!!!!
Tumblr media
Sableye’s gem-eating habits are actually the source of its eerie appearance: it causes gemstones to rise above its skin and literally transformed its eyes into gemstones. Likely a horrifying process and one we, thankfully, never witness. Those eyes are said to burn with a sinister glow, which is believed to indicate Sableye is about to steal people’s spirits. Also it eats Carbink too, which makes sense, but yeesh! Poor Carbink. Being on the receiving end of those teeth sounds gravely painful.
Tumblr media
Sableye is also a recipient of a Mega Evolution, and by far one of the best ones! Rather than drastically changing Sableye, it instead simply gets one gem intensely enlarged (which then “rips through its skin”), and though you can’t see them here, it also gets a TON more gems added to its back. It’s a mixed benefit, since it can use that massive gem to block attacks, but it also can’t turn around easily so its gem-addled back is highly vulnerable.
Tumblr media
Mega Sableye also gets the ability Magic Bounce, which is notable because of how the giant gemstone actually reflects that! Pun fully intended because the ability Magic Bounce literally reflects all non-damaging attacks, which is INCREDIBLY useful in competitive formats. Its defensive stats also get an enormous boost, and it’s overall one of the biggest improvements a Mega makes on the base form.
Tumblr media
The one thing worth criticising about Sableye is its somewhat unpleasant-looking shiny, a yellowy brown with yellow gemstone eyes and a green chest gem. Its original sprite had a more striking golden colour to it, which looked much more pleasant, but alas not all shinies made the 3D transition well. The Mega fares a bit better, due to the heightened amount of green.
Overall, I love Sableye, and it’s one of my favourite Ghost-types and Dark-types. I do wish official portrayals did more to leverage its outstanding toothy, twitchy vibes though; it feels like its most appealing aspects are often overlooked. Mega Sableye’s simplicity of its change to such a solid base design also makes it quite possibly my favourite Mega Evolution, up there with Mega Absol and Mega Mawile. Plus it even features the smile more heavily!
Wheh-heh-heh/10.

Doodledex - #703 Carbink
Carbon takes on lots of different forms depending on the kind of environment it gets exposed to, and only with a lot of heat and pressure does it form into diamonds. (Fun fact: diamonds are actually stupidly common in space! A good chunk of these are “nanodiamonds” found in meteorites, but it’s theorized that larger ones form pretty easily in gas giants and stars!) Carbink has the same origins, forming deep within the earth before emerging... sometimes taking millions of years to do so!
And I know that was a bit of a side note up there... but much like extraterrestrial diamonds, Carbink are also fairly common despite their origins. However, since they’re covered in pretty, glittering jewels, people tend to take notice and obsess over them! On the flip-side, this also attracts unwanted attention from certain Pokemon... Gabite tend to harass them into their hoards, and Sableye will try to rip the gems right out of them for a snack!

Jelli’s problems with ORAS
@subbydations said: Which decisions?
Hohohohohohohooooo… *rubs hands together* where do I begin with ORAS?
Firstly, let’s get the obvious out of the way which is removing the Battle Frontier and just copypasting the extremely boring Battle Maison from X/Y, lacking in any sort of interesting challenges that gens 3 and 4 presented.
GameFreak never patched it in either in spite of having the technology to do so now. Insult to injury is the fact that Anabel made it into Sun/Moon, which makes me theorize they planned designs for BF leaders but just didn’t put them in ORAS.
But that’s just one small thing, I mean, I could let it go if not for all of the other flaws ORAS presents (especially when put next to HG/SS or Emerald)
The Gym Leaders
When ORAS was announced, I figured “oh cool, the gym leaders might all get a buff by using mega evolutions”… and they did not. No, they all have their parties from the original Ruby and Sapphire, some of which, well, let’s face it, are pathetic compared to Emerald.
Wattson just has his Magnetson, no Manectric or Mega Manectric-- y’know, the signature Electric-type of Gen 3? Something that would have been cool and challenging?
Winona doesn’t have a Mega Altaria either, again, stuck with the mediocre party she had in the original R/S, no Tropius in sight. Giving her a Mega Altaria would have been a good challenge because people who come into the gym with electric types would have no idea how to deal with Dragon/Fairy.
And oh boy, how can we forget Tate and Liza? You would think ORAS would have changed something to make them a bit more challenging, but no. You just double battle their Solrock and Lunatone, probably wiping them before they get a chance.
Also, unlike in Emerald or HG/SS… you can’t even rematch the Gym leaders (except for Wallace in the Delta Episode). You just fight them once with their pathetically weak teams, then that’s it, no more from them ever again.
The Elite Four members got the better end of it mostly, but their initial teams are still weak. I also hate Steven’s rematch team. Why does he have Carbink and Aerodactyl? There are plenty of Steel-types, one of which is a fossil Pokémon! Carbink is weak to Steel anyway!
Wally’s party also made me sad. GameFreak didn’t like the idea of a boy trainer having a male Gardevoir I guess, so they forced a Gallade on him prior to getting National Dex or whatever. :\
Legendaries
While I already hated the roaming legendaries (seriously GameFreak, remove these), simply handing over Latios and Latias with their Mega Evolution and zero effort to obtain them was… pretty awful. It makes the entire game pathetically easy from there on out if you do speedrunning. I dunno about you, but I like getting my legendaries through a challenge.
Remember in gens 3, 4, and 5 when certain legendaries, when found, would give you a cool event? Well, ORAS just hands everything to you by flying around on Latios/Latias to certain areas, and you go to dimensional rips and rings created by Hoopa.
I have a feeling Hoopa was just made to create the excuse of randomly dropping Pokémon… I don’t know why they didn’t make a small, new area for each legendary available. FireRed/LeafGreen and Emerald did that for Lugia, Ho-Oh, Mew, and Deoxys. Simply recycling assets from the already existing mystery lands from soaring would have worked just fine.
Of course, this is a minor nitpick compared to actual issues I have. I’m glad that Pokémon like Zekrom are in the game at all, but I wish a little more effort was put in.
The Audio
I don’t like the soundtrack ORAS introduced compared to the original gen 3 games. The Champion theme against Steven, in particular, feels neutered of its GBA trumpets.
Honestly, I would be fine with it-- if they programmed in the GB Sounds, an item that was available in HG/SS! Gee, imagine that, an item that lets you play classic sounds if you prefer some of the original, classic soundtracks!
“Jelli they can’t program in old music!” Is what you’re going to say, and I’m going to prove you wrong, because somehow GameFreak managed to copypaste the themes of Lugia, Ho-Oh, Giratina, etc into ORAS… from their original DS sound fonts.
Wanna know what’s even funnier about this? In ORAS, Ho-Oh and Lugia have their themes from HG/SS, but the legendary beasts all have their Pokémon Crystal theme as opposed to the separate ones given in HG/SS. Sure, it’s nostalgic, but it clashes horribly given the others themes being from DS games.
I think if they cropped out all that legendary music (and simply made one song for all of them), they could have fit the GB (or rather GBA) Sounds into ORAS.
“But Jelli, that sounds like it would be too much for the 3DS.”
Definitely not, but if it was, here’s my last point.
The Delta Episode
I hated this, lol. I was fine with the remake up until this point. This was a poor excuse of post-game, it’s basically one big, handheld cutscene where you go from place to place and put up with the most annoying character in the world; Zinnia. (who is an even more obnoxious jerk in the manga if one can believe that)
Honestly, they should have cut this entirely and allowed the players to find Mega Rayquaza on their own so they could use the remaining data to put in the Battle Frontier, GB Sounds, and Gym leader rematches. I don’t play Pokémon to watch a short movie with poor story-telling, sorry.
I know it sounds like I’m being harsh for the sake of shitting on GameFreak but… that’s not true. I’m saying this because I absolutely love Gen 3! It’s my favorite Pokémon generation next to 5 and Hoenn is probably my favorite region. I still go back to Pokémon Emerald sometimes (I recently transferred my shinies to SoulSilver) and just embrace everything.
ORAS… I have not gone back to. It made me feel empty from how unfinished this was. This game didn’t have the love put into it like HG/SS or FR/LG did, and as someone who did want Hoenn remakes, that makes me extremely depressed.
It makes me worry for the people who want Sinnoh remakes, they’re going to be stuck with the Gym leaders having terrible parties like in the original Diamond/Pearl rather than Platinum, with no post-game content.
Sorry if this was a long read and if people don’t agree, again, I’m just super passionate about Gen 3.

I never get notifications when I get head canons so there are always a lot more things in my inbox than I expect.
Anyway I actually decided to log on because I’m procrastinating on writing an essay. I don’t know if I can write head canons about Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon at this point because I only just arrived on the third island and I have been busy with collage things (like that essay I am not writing right now). So at this point really the biggest story difference in the games are the stuff with the ultra recon squad and I don’t even know what their deal is at this point? Are they evil? Are they neutral? Also can I complain about Kiawae’s new totem because I think giant Marowak looks kinda stupid. Like Totem Araquanid looked cool but Marowak’s head is like way to big and it looks like a bad chibi and I hate it.
Anyway I am still busy for the rest of the week but hopefully I can answer some things in my inbox next week and I can finish the game soon.
One more thing there is a cute new Alola christmas banner that I almost used for the banner on the blog but not everybody celebrates christmas so instead I have a nice little snowy Pokemon background I think it’s like as old as gen 4 though rip. And If there any new quality Lusamine profile pictures in the new game that can tap the one we have now let me know.
Anyway happy holidays everyone and sorry for disappearing all the time.

RFA Decks
So I rebogged a post by @zens-ponytail earlier about yoosung and seven playing pokemon in high school... and this stirred everything within me... and I asked myself, “what decks would these nerds have...” NOW I am very much a noob in the TCG world, I only have two decks and started playing this winter, but I am constantly getting rekt by my friends and their cool cards SO! this is sooooo self-indulgent lmao but for everyone in the tcg community enjoy!!
Yoosung:
a total “eggs in one basket” deck
aka this keldeo is his best friend, he will just be stacking up on his bench and then BOOM rush in “secret sword you’re dead”
but that also means... if you knock out all of his keldeos... he’s done for...
and he DOES NOT!!! need another deck. no matter how many times he gets rekt... not matter how many times he takes that l... it’s keldeo or bust he literally can’t function without this in his deck.
he just. forgets how to play when he uses any other deck.
just imagine how much he freaks out when those keldeos are prized!!
like he has other cards in his deck... maybe a blastoise ex... but it doesn’t know secret sword??? it can’t rush in??? he’s confused.
Seven:
has the MOST annoying decks EVER
one for each person “this is my yoosung crushing deck” “this is my jumin wrecking deck”
can read facial expressions like a bitch. you just drew that mega you needed? boy N!! yoosung is trying to stack up that keldeo in his bench? bitch LYSANDRE!!
yoosung cannot STAND this he REFUSES to play for a week straight he’s so mad. threatens to throw out his cards but everyone knows he’s too attached to that goddamn keldeo that he would never.
seven doesn’t give a shit he just keeps stacking up that yoosung crushing deck.
will specifically order cards online. doesn’t care if he has to spend fifty dollars on a specific card. boy he’s getting that shaymin ex.
that incineroar gx becomes a staple of his. his luck is always impeccable and he always gets those two heads for tiger swing. fucking tiger swing.
Jumin:
jumin doesn’t understand it but he’ll play anything if it’ll give him a chance to be better at it than zen.
spends FOREVER to do anything. you could hop on an airplane, travel the world three times, come back... and jumin would still be thinking about his move.
switches his deck up a lot. he has the money to buy all the cards seven  tells him to use to beat zen. yoosung’s. crying. he just wants a shaymin or a hoopa. is that too much to ask for...
and you know what. he’s just like seto kaiba. he would rip the most expensive, rarest card in the world right in your face just so zen can’t have it.
definitely starts with that stupid meowth and stalls his way out of every second turn he’s ever taken.
Zen:
he saw all the shiny cards and he said “BITCH where do i sign up”
let me get one thing straight... he. sucks. he’s terrible.
He has a fairy type deck that seven put together for him. he supplied the pokemon, zen put some trainers in. but the trainers...
he tries his best. it’s based around gardevoir, and he can get that mega up instantly... but he’d rather watch jumin rip up that delta mew than get rid of any of his benched pokemon for that despair ray to actually knock anything out.
but you know what!! his luck with this game is. astounding. he once got a fates collide pack and got that mega audino. yoosung fainted on spot.
still sucks though. blames it on the cards. seven takes the deck and beats everyone with it.
Jaehee:
she doesn’t play a lot!! but when she does...
run!! her whole tactic is to make you deck out. and you WILL deck out.
has that STUPID CARBINK IN HER DECK SO ALL YOUR GOOD CARDS CAN’T EVEN TOUCH HER.
she tries to go easy on zen but come on, she can’t just concede...
she only has one deck, but... come on. she only needs once deck.
it’s fairy fighting... and BOY SHE’LL DESTROY YOU.
mega aerodactyl will leave you cowering in a corner, gathering your deck against your chest... you thought your benched pokemon were safe? THINK AGAIN she has that spirit link raring to go.
she loves her mega mawhile!! meanwhile, you’re crying... you’re out of energies, your discard pile is growing... she’s just sipping at her coffee...

My Pokemon Moon Adventures Part 21: Shit Grunts Say Part A (January 9, 2017)
My favorite part of taking down an evil team? The stupid shit grunts say.
So, yesterday, I mentioned the nectar that changes Oricorio’s forms (or in my case, Poli’s). I still got the nectar so that Poli can become a fire-type, but I don’t want to since I already have a fire-type (hello, Sabrina) and the purple nectar that Poli and I both wanted (that turns her into a Ghost-type) is not accessible until we become the champion, so with that, Poli will have to stay a Psychic-type for now.
Team Skull, though a gang of mischievous teens, finally got the ball rolling... they took over Route 17 and a group of Alola Meowth took over the police station (and Po Town). Yeah, I picked up a Zygarde Core and Sina called.
The stuff these grunts say and do are my aesthetic everytime we take down an evil team. Our obsverations
Can someone tell that one grunt that his level 33 Salandit WILL NOT evolve? Also, can Sabrina take him in for the reverse harem?
A female grunt calls herself a great grunt (say that 5 times fast), doesn’t have a Carnivine
Homeboy had a good day because no one lost until I beat this 2 colleagues AND him.
Route 17 and Po Town are considered Skull paradise for one lady
Anyway, we battled the two grunts that were guarding the gate, and even though we won, they still wouldn’t let us in... until some guy named Nanu came and told them to open them. He did warn us that if we die, our remains will make it home. Like WTF man, you’re so morbid. xD
We made it in and battled the two other grunts. They think we won’t find a way to go through the town, but what are those cuts in the bushes for. Even the Pokemon Center was run over. We had to listen to the two grunts spitting bars and had to pay $10 to heal my mons (not true fact: Po Town is the only American Health Care center in the region)
“That’s enough, Grunt. Get back in the ball” is now my favorite quote from this game
One of the fights we had to take on was a pair of twin sisters trying to one-up each other. Apparently, Free Hugs and Victoria tried to one-up each other too, as Victoria’s Discharge managed to paralyze a Golbat and Free Hugs (he broke out of Paralysis) and Victoria avoided Free Hugs’ Brutal Swing.
Can someone tell that other grunt that his level 34 Salandit WILL NOT evolve? Sabrina also wants him for her reverse harem (hey, it’s her nature, what can you do about it)
Speaking of Sabrina, grass types HATE her. A trainer’s Leafeon and a grunt’s Fomantis would not stand a chance as she has all moves super-effective against them. RIP
Finally a grunt wants me to calm her Wimpod down. Welp, that didn’t work, lady.
Tomorrow we fight ya boi Guzma.

Episode 22
Scene 11:
[Ren and Steven are sitting at his coffee table with a whole pile of food in front of them and their pokemon around them when there is a knock at the door. Ren goes to get it while Steven stays where he is. Ren opens the door to find Zinnia standing there and her face floods with relief.]
Ren: You really did come. I was starting to worry.
Zinnia: Sorry about that. I had to say some goodbyes.
Ren: No problem.
[Aster pokes her head around Zinnia’s legs, ears cocked and listening.]
Zinnia: Are you sure you want me here?
Ren: Absolutely. Come inside. Dinner’s ready.
Zinnia: [stepping inside and taking off her shoes] What about Stone?
[Aster follows suit by wiping her paws on the mat.]
Ren: Uh, he’s not thrilled that I invited you, but he’ll deal.
Zinnia: Oh boy.
Ren: Please just give him a chance. He’s a real sweetheart, I swear.
Zinnia: Anything for you, spitfire.
[Ren smiles and leads Zinnia into the living room. Steven looks up at them from his seat on the floor as they come in, but says nothing. An awkward silence hangs in the air for a moment as Steven and Zinnia stare each other down. Ren opens her mouth to break it, but Zinnia beats her to it.]
Zinnia: Thanks for having me over.
Steven: Just try not to destroy anything while you're here.
Zinnia: You know, I think your rock collection might be a threat to another dimension. Are you sure I can’t clear it out?
[Steven bristles and Ren throws both of them a reproachful look. Zinnia forces her face back to neutral and sits down opposite Steven between Kata and the sandslashes. Aster climbs into her lap and Zinnia starts serving herself. Everyone eats in silence for a while and Kata seems to be the only one truly enjoying herself. Ren watches as Zinnia cuts things into smaller chunks for her whismur who then shovels the food off of Zinnia’s plate and into her mouth with her ears. It is all too reminiscent of a parent eating with their child and Ren’s stomach knots up. Zinnia does not use the utensils much for herself, preferring to stuff smaller items in whole a rip meat from the bone with her teeth. This only worsens after the first few minutes until she is tearing through the food in front of her. Steven grimaces at the lack of table manners and Ren looks rather concerned at the level of hunger on display. Zinnia does not look up, but can probably feel the other two watching her.]
Zinnia: [to Steven between mouthfuls] Did you make all this?
Steven: Yes, though you can also thank my carbink.
Zinnia: It’s really good. I didn’t expect a wealthy guy like you to cook.
[Steven’s eyes narrow and Ren jumps in before he can make some equally snide remark.]
Ren: It surprised me too. He’s a lot better than I am.
[The rest of the meal proceeds in much the same fashion with Ren trying to head off fights between the other two. She is grateful when they are finally finished and Zinnia displays that she wasn’t brought up in a barn by helping to clear everything away. Afterwards, most of the pokemon go outside and Ren plops down in the middle of the couch. Zinnia sits down so that she can slouch on the arm of the couch and Aster hops up and climbs back into Zinnia’s lap. The whismur settles down for a nap as Steven comes back in and Steven goes straight for his liquor cabinet.]
Steven: [forced politeness] Can I get you anything to drink?
Ren: Can we have the liquid sunshine again?
Zinnia: The what now?
Ren: It’s a mixed drink he makes.
Steven: Regrettably I’m out of champagne.
Zinnia: Got any prosecco? That might work.
Steven: They are both sparkling white wines, but I wouldn’t say they’re interchangeable.
Zinnia: Well I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess the other ingredient for this drink is a liquor, in which case pairing it with something a little less sweet might work better.
Steven: Very well, I’ll give it a go. Would you like one too?
Zinnia: You like it? [Ren nods] Sure, Stone, I’ll try some. I’ve always got some of the late Mr. Kagari's fine imported bourbon if that doesn’t work out.
[Steven rolls his eyes as he opens a bottle of wine behind them. He comes back with three glasses and hands them off. Ren takes a sip as Steven sits down by the other arm of the couch, as far away from Zinnia as possible.]
Ren: Holy shit this might be even better.
[Steven grunts.]
Zinnia: I usually go for prosecco anyway. It’s often better than champagne in my opinion.
Ren: Really? But champagne always costs so much more.
Zinnia: Sometimes, things that are more expensive, are worse.
[Steven pulls a face and Zinnia almost smirks in saticfaction. She and Ren talk for a bit, but Steven remains quiet over on his end of the couch. Eventually Zinnia grows tired suffering his silent ire.]
Zinnia: Alright Stony, enough with the polite brooding. If you have something on your mind, just let it out.
Steven: Why did you do it?
Zinnia: I already told you.
Steven: Not all portals lead to the Distortion World. There is documentation in Alola of another type of—
Zinnia: Which have not been “substantiated by science” as you put it. And even supposing they were, why is your assumption that they lead to some empty dimension? Who’s to say there isn’t yet another world on the other side?
Steven: Most of the universe is empty space! There’s no reason to—
Zinnia: Actually, if we’re basing our evidence for these portals on native accounts of them, there is plenty of reason to believe there is a populated world on the other side. And how about you don’t lecture me on portals, Mr. Bachelor’s-in-Geology? I’m a physicist and I did my dissertation on travel between our world and the Distortion World. I’m well aware of the current work on spacetime anomalies.
Steven: None of which proves the portal generated by the dimensional shifter would have led to the Distortion World.
Zinnia: To suggest that a slightly altered method based entirely on work that had previously only led to portals between our world and the Distortion World might suddenly lead to an entirely different location in space is ridiculous. And I could spend the whole night explaining to you the myriad reasons why that’s true, but won’t because I’m not here to convince you and I’m sure as shit not here to absolve you of whatever kernel of guilt has your undies in a twist. I’m here because Ren asked me to be. You can go right ahead and think I’m some kind of crackpot psychopath if that makes you feel better. I don’t care.
Steven: Good. Because I think I’m entitled to be just a little angry that you think you have the right to make decisions for the entire planet!
Ren: ENOUGH! [Both of them are cowed into silence.] We are not doing this right now! This could be our last night alive and I’m not spending it listening to you two bicker about shit that doesn’t even matter anymore!
[Steven and Zinnia look down as Ren glares at each in turn. A moment later, Ren’s nav rings and she looks down at it.]
Ren: I have to take this. [She gets up but turns to face them, looking stern.] But you two better be friends by the time I get back. You have plenty in common. Get to know each other a little!
[Ren stomps out of the room followed by the last few pokemon except for Aster who stays behind. Steven and Zinnia glance at each other.]
Zinnia: So…
Steven: So…
[Steven sighs and Zinnia scratches absently at her whismur’s ear.]
Zinnia: We’re not gonna disappoint her, are we?
Steven: Hell no.
Zinnia: So we do agree on something.
Steven: Yes, we do.
Zinnia: Right… So how’d you get into training?

Note
Aerodactyl and Claydol had gone down from the force of the Cofagrigus' Shadow Ball, one due to having little HP, the other being weak to Ghost-type moves. The only ones were the slower Rock-types. Carbink was the fastest, and it floated to its master's side, preparing a Moonblast which probably wouldn't get a chance to hit its target.
Scolipede was faster than Lancer. The Keldeo lagged behind and would not be able to catch up to stop the 400 lb bug. He’d be too late. Worse, the little Carbink, and now his own Trainer would be mowed down as well. Since she’d almost reached Steven.
Balia looked up from her boyfriend’s prone from just in time to see the Spinning Ball of Scolipede death bearing down on them. This was it. Steven was going to die and she couldn’t do anything. She’d been too slow to get to him in time to shield him from the oncoming attack. Her eyes were starting to fill with tears and the pounding in her head was reaching a fever pitch, she gritted her teeth against it and the sob that was trying to rip through her throat.
She screamed in frustration and she felt like something in her let go.
Scolipede abruptly stopped. About a foot from the little Carbink that floated in it’s way. It still spun, like a car wheel in snow not getting any traction to move. Between the Carbink and the Scolipede, and bubbled out to include Steven was shimmering light.
The same pale, but strong glow was on Balia. On her head and shoulders. Her hair was whirling around her head as if caught in a breeze, one that just wasn’t there. And her eyes were shining like the rest of her. The bubble expanded, pushing the Scolipede backwards.
