With the 4th episode of RWBY Ice Queendom about to premiere, I wanted to take a moment to talk about the opening theme. I don’t know what exactly the general response is (nor do I really want to know), but it’s worth understanding that the opening for episodes 1-3 is likely a placeholder.

I’m not the first person to bring this up, as others have already mentioned this elsewhere. Having an opening theme for an anime premiere with reused footage and then be updated with new footage is a fairly common practice in the anime industry. This can be either due to scheduling issues or to coincide with a phase in the story or some other matter.

RWBY Ice Queendom is not even the first anime directed by Toshimasa Suzuki to have updated footage. I mention this previously on Twitter, but the 2012 anime Rinne no Lagrange is a good example of this. The second opening in particular reuses footage from the first opening. However, by episode 15, it updates with new animation and even slight change in the compositing, as seen in the above video.

With a new promotional video for the next phase in RWBY Ice Queendom’s story, don’t be too surprised if new footage for the opening will be shown, maybe even with storyboards done by Suzuki this time.

I feel a little bit like this is reflective of my current tastes, but I'd say my favorite reader insert throuple is stsg x reader. with every fic i read that has suguru geto in it he grows on me. i'm also a closet bookiedookie x reader enjoyer, if you know what i mean. LMAO.

A yuricharisma anime year review, please note these are personal opinions, and I'm only covering stuff that I watched.

Birdie wing: best surprise, a fun sports anime that was just a blast to watch, the golf anime sliced it's way to my heart and I am looking forward to season 2

Princess connect s2: most improved sequel, not to mention really cute and wholesome moment with Pecorine and Karyl, and was actually funny this season compared to the first

Slow loop: best sports anime this year, a mostly slice of life anime about fishing that was really fun and newly became sisters bonded over fishing and the loss of one of their parents, truly worth the watch

Miss shachiku and the little baby ghost: the most diabetes inducing anime, very adorable and wholesome

Lycoris recoil: the best original anime, great action and characters, a fun show to watch and it has a great op/ed

Demon girl next door s2: watching s2 motivated me to try the manga during its short hiatus and I'm so glad I did, the anime is a very good adaptation and it made me appreciate it a lot more, plus darkness peach is just super cool

Do it yourself: good fun slice of life, with its unique anime style and wholesome story do it yourself carved its way to being one of the best animes of the year

Bocchi the rock!: one of if not the best anime to come out this year, it's animation goes from one end of the spectrum to the other, they use practical depictions like real balloons and claymation among other styles to portray anxiety and its fantastic, it is a top contender for anime of the year and it's rated at a whopping 8.9 on mal, truly a fantastic slice of life anime with music and jokes.

Honorable mentions:

Dropkick in my devil! X for having a very good ending theme and cool animated op that was also fun to listen to.

Miss kuroitsu of the Monster Development Department: most fun opening and the best boss Megistus who was a super villain

My master has no tail: most relaxing ending, and a nice wholesome master/apprentice relationship

Girls' frontline: I actually liked the anime for what it was, and both op/ed are pretty great

G-witch: wow cool robot fights, no but for real I haven't seen a mecha anime in a long time even longer if I don't count my rinne no lagrange rewatch, started it for the female protag and just hoping it gets a gay end.
