Zhukov, his plan, and Delilah. Some thoughts on the glimpses in the Obsidian mirror

So, I’ve been reading the corroded man again, and when i got to chapter 26, it got me thinking how Zhukov and Delilah’s plans would’ve collided. read more for spoilers about the corroded man and Brigmore Witches

so when Emily is shown the obsidian mirror that Zhukov made with the help of Galia, Rinaldo and the new whalers, we see glimpses of a potential future of Dunwall if Jessamine hadn’t been assassinated. we see glimpses of Dunwall burning, and rotting, overrun by rats, Jessamine turned homicidal, Corvo made royal executioner and Emily having nobles, including Wymman killed for her own amusement.

thing is, Delilah wanting to possess Emily during the Brigmore witches DLC from the first game, made me wonder how that plan would’ve changed if Zhukov had managed to prevent the assassination. Would Delilah have tried to possess Jessamine instead? And if we assume they are indeed half-sisters, would it have been easier because of their blood-relation to each other? would Daud even have been sent in Delilah’s direction if Jessamine hadn’t been killed?

so the question is:

is the tyrannical Jessamine we see in those flashes actually Jessamine, or is that Delilah possessing the body of her half-sister?

Whalers HCs:

I like to think that there's mentorship system within them, in which more skilled are responsible not only for training, but also wellbeing of novices (aka you get assigned your own whaler once you're skilled enough - helps new guys to not die during their first patrol and builds a relationship).

Galia hangs out with Thomas but can't stand Billie.

Same for Galia & Rinaldo & Thomas trio. Rinaldo is on fine terms with Billie, but Thomas is the only one who can really talk to her on non work-related topics.

There's a whaler who didn't get any of Daud's powers apart from blink, but he's alright with poisons and an extremely good cook. Daud pretends he's keeping him for the poisons but the real reason is the food. Guy makes a decent meal out of plague rats, somehow. His name is Benny.

There's a hide out place near the base in which they have a little drink/party zone with a bunch of stolen furniture to celebrate their successful jobs. Daud isn't a huge fan, but he comes by from time to time.

Alright,

*The first one is very cute - I love the idea of a buddy system and watching each other's backs. They very much need it, the novices. They probably have group trainings and then are sent out with a Master Whaler to learn in the field.

*Galia so would - she has a whole list of reasons. She probably thinks Billie to be impulsive and knows that she definitely has a problem with authority. I think that Thomas would be Billie's friend and her betrayal would hurt him the most (after Daud). They reconcile but things are still bitter a bit.

*Benny should have his own episode of Hell's Kitchen. Literally.

*Also the hang-out spot is a really cool one :O they definitely have that so they can drink and play Nancy.
