I like, wish Western aoex fans would take some time and research about how religion is in Japan. Especially how christianity is viewed and practiced there. Because it's a very different thing both culturally and base level than how things go in the west. Shintoism and Buddhism is an incredibly big part of Japan's culture, but it's not in the same way as how Christianity and other western religions are for the USA or other countries.

I mean it's cool to see people want to do things, but I don't think they realize that it's going to be a very different interpretation. I personally don't even think Shiro raised the twins christian. There's nothing in canon other than they grew up in the monastery to imply it. It felt more to me they started the place to have a good cover for the twins than it actually being a legit thing.

Heck it even looked like Shiro took the boys to shrines for new years. That's kind of a important part of Japanese culture and a big tradition. I personally don't think a catholic priest raising two kids would be taking them to a Shinto Shrine to do the New Years tradition.

It's also funny whenever this comes up because no one mentions Yukio in this. It's always Rin lol

he runs you a bubble bath, dunking all of your favorite accessories in - oils, bombs, fuck he never knew there was so much of it until you moved in together (now he has all of your favorite products memorized lol he's a simp !!!!). makes sure the water isn't too hot to make you dizzy, but just enough to relief the ache in your muscles that he put through so much </3 brings u a glass of ice water or some nice wine,, depending on your mood, as well as your favorite book. sometimes you tug him back by his wrist when he goes to walk out and so he just plops down on the chair by the tub and chats with you as u relax :( it's so simple but does wonders, makes you all fuzzy and feeling looked after - and it's all he ever wants for you.

he offers you a massage when you get out of the bath, lathers his hands with oil and works out all the knots in your back and shoulders. he's weirdly skilled with his hands !! sure, ofc they have to know the basic techniques to ease out their muscles, but he gets really into it </3 he's a weirdo but you profit from it hehe!! presses a few gentle kisses along your nape and pats your bum when he's done and you can only hum softly, nearly asleep by this point :(

okay, i quite like the whole shtick i have of associating songs with rin and haru because the lyrics or general vibe remind me of them so here's another:

rin is such a muse type of character. i imagine he's the type to listen primarily to the rock and indie genre anyway (i am possibly projecting) and like, "supermassive black hole", "time is running out" and "uprising" are SUCH rin songs. i can't explain it. they're just so rin. like, remember that clip of him in season 3 where they show him waking up, cooking, eating his toast and then carding his fingers through his hair (in that sexy, sexy way that he does) and then going for a run through the neighbourhood?

i can very well imagine "supermassive black hole" playing over that clip because.... vibes, man. i'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks this because i've seen a bunch of muse tracks featured on matsuoka rin playlists on spotify. who allowed rin to be so sexy anyway??? what the fuck.

dreams and nightmares

shortly after rin became sunna's chosen, she had a lot of nightmares. she would be home again, sitting at her father's table and reconnecting, happy, but undead would knock against their windows, attack the villagers. she would be in the grand city charming nobles and laughing beside eva only for undead to sink their teeth into her best friend. she would dream of a million different scenarios, yet they always ended the same: everyone dead except rin and undead snarling in her face.

rin tried to ignore these dreams. she didn't want them to mean anything. she didn't want to believe that she really was some lightwielder, sunna's chosen champion against the traitor king edmund and his soulless army. she wanted to have simply survived yet another hairy situation by sheer luck and skill; she didn't want to be forced down a path by a goddess who had never listened to her prayers.

then delwyn knocked upon her door one day, and rin couldn't just ignore her dreams anymore. she might have hated to follow the path sunna set for her, but she hated the idea of letting innocent people die more.

when she joined the free army, safely tucked away in the dwarven cities, the nightmares stopped, and i won't lie :' ) rin woke up angry for a few weeks after that :' ))

They're nerding out over a book of riddles, which in my mind, was in a language Riddler doesn't know, but which Bookworm translated for him. I wanted to get their expressiveness at a level that's appropriate to their characters, since while Riddler tends to use very big expressions and a lot of movements, Bookworms expressions, even when he is blatantly nerding out, tend to be very strictly controlled, with his facial expressions sometimes coming off as almost muted at times, except in moments where he briefly flies into a rage.

And of course, since it's also autism acceptance month, I kind of wanted to draw some fanart of two of my favorite autistic headcanon characters interacting. I've loved the idea of them having a villainous friendship for awhile, which I think was further cemented by Riddler's mentioning Bookworm as one of the guys he never sees anymore during his lament in When is a Door? as well as that fanart I reblogged awhile back.

rin is the type to have hyper-fixations, except you would literally never know. this man is discreet, as in batman level of shadiness. one time, he accidentally took too much adderall at 3 a.m. and considered making a shrine of you inside his bedroom closet. he was already halfway done with printing and cutting out your pictures before he realized what he was doing. that was the only time you caught him slipping, and he doesn't even remember most of it. definitely makes little voodoo dolls and sticks pins in the people he hates (looking at you, isagi.)

sae smells like fresh linens and warm laundry. sometimes, if you snuggle up to him, you can also sniff out hints of the sea. if you asked him what shampoo he uses though, he would not know. (it's definitely a 5-in-1 though since this man emphasizes practicality above all else.)

kaiser is secretly a pathetic coward with zero pain tolerance. he had a smug smirk on his face the entire time he got his blue rose tattoo done because of how badly he wanted to impress you. definitely went home later that day and cried from the pain. he would scream and be an overdramatic baby when you tried to remove the saniderm.

rin would insist that he is not like sae in the slightest but then proceeds to act like a sore loser when he doesn't immediately win. do not challenge him to any game that involves a ball. competitiveness runs through the entire itoshi bloodline.

sae is financially illiterate. he would definitely buy you anything you looked at for longer than 0.5 seconds. when the cashier asks him where to send the check, he tells them to ring it all up on his manager. definitely does not know how much is too much.

reo tried to get nagi into houseplants once he saw how lackluster nagi's apartment was. but all of them except the cactus died since nagi forgot to water them. choki is obviously a trooper.

rin is lactose-intolerant, but his gourmand tastebuds only allow him to drink one specific brand of almond milk. would make you drive two hours back to the grocery store just because you accidentally forgot to get the unsweetened version without the artificial vanilla flavoring.

noa is very grounded, mostly due to his background but also because of his personality. definitely the type to be rich but not act rich. he would get along very well with keanu reeves. that's not to say he won't spoil you though. this man would let you have whatever you wanted, so long as it was reasonable.
