Cabaret Voltaire - Gasoline in Your Eye VHS
Heyyy look who is not dead.
Here is a VHS of Cabaret Voltaire's Gasoling in your Eye. It's a collection of music videos with footage taken by members of the band intersperced with Scratch Video techniques..
This is from the Cabs more Electro Industrial period. Not the strongest but still really cool.
You can get it from my Google Drive HERE

A-T-3 225 Cabaret Voltaire
Kirk and Mallinder continue to put out an incredible amount of work in 1983
I'm thinking about Cabaret Voltaire now because The Crackdown was mentioned in Dr Robs article https://banbantonton.com/2023/07/14/looking-for-the-balearic-beat-soundtracking-paradise/
"Nelo [Antonio Dominguez Rey] landed a residency at Pacha, alongside Joan Ribas, where he continued to pursue his “darker” sound – describing the high-point of his time there being when he had 2000 people, in this more commercial venue, dancing to Cabaret Voltaire’s The Crackdown."
The Crackdown album was CV's first release on Some Bizarre/Virgin and got to 31 on the UK album charts. The difficulty of access (getting records) has seeded so many musical movements, the British Invasion groups all mention access to American blues and rock and roll imports, Norther Soul, Reggae Soundsystems, hip hop DJs and producers digging for obscure breaks, the afrocosmic sound in Italy trying records at a different speed came from the limited supply of records in Northern Italy (that and heroin), and in Ibiza DJs competed with each other by travelling to Spain to have the best records. I found the last one fascinating because The Crackdown album and singles have always been ridiculously cheap and easy to pick up in the UK... perhaps it's like Americans, Italian or Japanese record sellers when encountering British diggers? I digress
Fans there's some fancy image processing going on on the sleeve artwork for The Crackdown... the kind of stuff that's foundation of digital image processing now
Crackdown 12" Version more from The Crackdown a few videos below

Harder to find (at least outside of Belgium) is the 12" Fools Game (Slugging' For Jesus Pt.3) which came out as a double A-side with Gut Level. Pt's 1&2 came out in 1981 on an EP called 3 Crepscule Tracks
Fools Game (Slugging' For Jesus Pt.3)

The above track was released by Les Disques Du Crépuscule which had a close relationship with Factory (and several other labels), I think they managed the Factory Bénelux sub label - or helped get it running or something, anyway. Factory release Yashar from 1982s 2x45 album as a single. Arthur Baker is working with New Order in 1983, for Yashar they get fellow Planet Rock etc producer John Robie to remix it - personally I prefer the 2x45 version. CV's VHS label Doublevision release Johnny Yesno which includes a video for this version of Yashar. Mute put out Johnny Yesno Redux in 2011, it's supposed to be terrible!
Yashar (John Robie Remix) breakdown at 4.27

Diskono is on the free 12" that comes out with The Crackdown. It's also on CV's first VHS release Doublevision Presents Cabaret Voltaire
