I sat with Thor on the couch in the “living room” part of the Guardian’s ship. We met through exploring the galaxy. I’m originally from Earth, but same as Peter, I got taken. Not from the same parent, but from a different one who wanted me dead. Luckily I escaped and have been on my own the rest of my life. It had not been easy, but being with this group of people, it just somehow made it easier.

“So, Thor. What is it like being a god? Do you have talents that no one else has? Do you share your powers with a sibling or something?” I said leaning back into the uncomfortable cushion.

“Oh Lady Y/N, being a god is not all glamorous. We are taught and trained to protect and take care of one another and other planets. I don’t share my powers, they are my own, and my only current talent is how much beet I can drink without getting physically sick.” Thor chuckled at my questions. For him it was amusing to find someone who has not grown up the way he did or similar to it. When he met the Guardians of the Galaxy, he didn’t know or realize how many voyagers were out there in the galaxy. He didn’t think much on it. Although what he has thought about was his past relationships. He knew this playboy still was not going to last forever, so why not have fun while he’s at it? I didn’t think that way. Sure I thought he was handsome, you’d be crazy not to, but this kind of adventure he’s on, I wasn’t interested in. I didn’t want to be another part in his journey, or another woman he beds for the hell of it. I wouldn’t let myself be.

“You ask questions of me. Let me ask questions of you.” Thor said.

“Ok... Go ahead.” I said skeptical.

“What is a beautiful woman like you doing in a place like this? How did your life end up to be here with a couple of Guardians and a god?” Thor gave a gentle smile.

I pondered for a little while before speaking. “I grew up on Earth with my aunt who raised me. I barely remember my parents, but I know that my supposed father, was the one who have me these powers. He’s not from Earth, but somewhere in this galaxy. He got word I guess that I have the powers he has and he ordered me dead. Next thing I know, I’m taken away on some kind of aircraft and was given a choice of death. I escaped to a planet and been surviving on my own this entire time...” I looked down at my shoes.

“Sincerely, I am deeply sorry for your troubles. It is not easy being on your own.” Thor smiled sympathetically.

“Yeah, it’s not. But It’s nice to have found friends like you and the guardians.” I smiled softly understanding I finally found a family.
