I LOVE queer femmes who diy. who take old clothes and revamp them and restyle them in such a personally queer way. queer femmes who sew and add patches or lace or buttons to everything. I love queer femmes who reinvent femininity in their own ways. I’m giving you all a big wet butch kiss

Major project - upcycling using paint
I came across a selection of articles from well known paint suppliers and businesses. Where they had an article on how paint can transform the look of furniture. This is a simpler way of upcycling and is more accessible and less hands on than taking and putting together a chair for example. So I thought it was worth looking into. As anyone can paint but painting well and professionally is a skill.
I found loads of tips and useful information around buying, prepping and painting. For beginners and experts.
Buying used furniture
Have a good idea of what type of furniture you need before heading to car boot sales and markets and when you see something, picture where it would go in your home. This way, you’ll be less likely to buy pieces that aren’t particularly useful.
Remember there’s a huge used furniture market online. Many people sell pieces at bargain prices, or even give them away for free on community threads and websites.
It’s important to be flexible if you’re looking for a really unique piece. Some creative thinking can turn old doors into smaller cupboards, or crates into shelving. For inspiration, take a look at DIY and upcycling blogs online.
If a piece looks shabby because of a bad or fading paint job, or it has surface scratches, you can easily transform it with a little sanding or painting.
Make sure you check furniture is structurally sound for the way you’ll use it. If there are holes in older wooden furniture, it’s probably had woodworm.
How to revamp your furniture
Gently sand the surfaces removing any rough edges.
Remove excess dust using a dust brush.
Prepare the surface thoroughly, so it’s as even as possible before you prime.
Once the primer is dry, sand the surface again and remove excess dust.
Before you begin painting, section off your first coloured stripes with masking tape, starting from the top and working towards your feet.
Paint the first colour and wait until it’s dry before you put more masking tape on for the second colour.
Remember to wait until your first coats are completely dry before painting second coats of each colour.
Another article by Dulux around upcycling with paint. Although this article didn’t have too much step by step guides. Which i find would be useful for upycling beginners.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I found a better article by Valspar paint, which had some clear step by step guides and even a video showing you how to upcycle a shelving unit.
Here is a check list of what you would need to paint some old furniture bring it back to life.
Tumblr media
youtube
STEP 1
Prepare and sand down
Lay down a dust sheet to protect areas that you don’t want to get any paint or dust on. Remove any dust, cobwebs or dirt from your chosen piece of furniture. Sand down the surface of your furniture. If you’re painting a cabinet, remove the drawers and sand them independently from the rest of the unit. If it’s a chair, remove the seat and sand around it. Once you’ve finished sanding, wipe down all the dust with a damp cloth.
Tumblr media
STEP 2
Mask off areas you don’t want to paint
Use masking tape to protect areas that you don’t want to paint including handles or feet. If you want to paint a pattern, use the tape to section off the parts that will form your pattern.
Tumblr media
STEP 3
Apply primer
Apply one coats of primer and leave to dry for two to four hours before applying another. This will help the paint stick evenly and will make the colour of your furniture appear bolder. Leave the second coat to dry for two to four hours. Once your coats are dry, lightly sand the surface and wipe away an excess dust.
Tumblr media
STEP 4
Apply the paint
Choose your favourite colour of our Wood and Metal paint. We like to go for a statement look with two complementary colours. Apply one coat of paint and leave it to dry for two to four hours before applying the second. If you’re painting a cabinet, paint the drawers first. While these are drying you can move on to the main unit. You’ll only need two coats for an even covering of colour. And that’s it!
Tumblr media
I thought this was a simple and easy set of instructions about painting your furniture. Which I feel if I come to making the instructions I will do similar by wording it in a clear way and also have some illustrations to show how to do each step which I feel is also really useful in making sure your doing it correctly.

The Demon Brothers: Creative Outlets Headcanons
they are all immortals and when you've lived longer than you can remember, you're bound to find a creative outlet to destress, alleviate boredom, or you know, to just have fun!
Lucifer
He’s a busy demon. If he’s not working, he's sleeping, or cleaning up one of his brother’s messes, so he doesn't have that much time to just relax and explore his creative sides.
That said though, it doesn’t mean he has no hobbies at all.
He plays the piano. He used to play it every morning, back when he’s still in the Celestial Realm, when he’d taught Lilith how to play the piano every morning and she’d sat besides him as his fingers moved across the keys slower so she could copy him.
Nowadays, playing the piano feels very nostalgic and bittersweet, but you’ll hear soft, bittersweet melodies drift from the music room once in a while.
He also composes his own music, but that's an even rarer occurrence. The last time he created a new music piece was centuries ago.
(Ever since MC came to Devildom though, he's been itching to write music for them.)
Practices calligraphy for fun. He has a whole set of brushes and ink and lettering pens. His handwriting is already beautiful but his calligraphy is even more amazing.
Another thing he does is gardening. He's got a great eye for landscape architecture, he's the reason why the house's backyard is pretty.
He plants decorative plants and likes to cross breed flowers so the House of Lamentation's backyard is full of pretty shrubs and unfamiliar flowers.
He is usually joined by Beel as he is the other brother that finds gardening very relaxing.
Mammon
He definitely shows his creativity by coming up with the most absurdly brilliant, out-of-the-box, original schemes to make money.
Mammon can draw, like really good. His drawings are very realistic. He prefers to use traditional media: charcoal pencils, graphite sticks, blenders, erasers, drawing pens, brushes, and maybe some watercolors.
He usually does architecture sketches.
But if you check his drawers, you’ll find several sketchbooks of his brothers in different candid poses. MC alone has taken up three whole sketchbooks. Mammon makes sure MC doesn’t see those sketches though.
Crashes Asmo’s Art Day regularly, claiming that if Levi’s invited then the Great Mammon should be too. Asmo and Levi always complains but they let him stay anyway.
Mammon also has a natural talent on jewelry making and metalwork. He makes jewelry from buttons, beads, pearls, diamonds, and crystals. From small pendants to elaborate neckpieces, simple anklets to ornate hairpins.
Mammon has made metal bookmarks for Satan because the book lover always misplaces his bookmarks or destroys them in fits of rage when he doesn't like a book's ending.
He sculpts wood. It takes him months to finish one small piece because he only does it when he's really, really bored, he prefers to make his much more profitable jewelry.
He keeps all of his sculptures in his room, small and detailed pieces of wood engraving of Devildom native animals lining up on one of the shelves.
Leviathan
This is canon but he draws! He doesn't think he's very good at it, but he really enjoys it.
Unlike Mammon who likes to draw with his charcoal pencils and drawing pens, Levi prefers to draw digitally. He still switch to traditional media now and then though.
Has a monthly scheduled “Art Day” where he and Asmo hang out together, Levi draws with his sketchbook or his drawing tablet and Asmo paints. They basically just gossip and hype each other’s art.
Dabbles in making short animations but feels like it’s just not something for him. He makes short comics though.
He wants to be able to make his own video game someday though. Maybe after he learns programming.
He makes the most detailed cosplay outfits for his own cosplays. He sews really good and patches his brothers clothes when they ask. Where do you think Asmo learns how to sew his own clothes from?
Really good at dancing and he really likes it too. He's a natural at it. From the most intricate traditional Devildom dances to freestyle dancing. He can make new moves on the spot and can copy any moves from one look.
He’s a shy baby though, you’ll rarely see him dance when he’s sober.
Except when he’s playing DDR (Demons Dance Revolution). Then, it’s like he’s the most confident demon in Devildom.
Satan
Satan writes poetry when inspiration strikes him. He has also written short stories but he always comes back to creating beautiful poems. He’s got a way with words.
Photography is something he has only recently taken interest in but he has a great eye for taking breathtaking shots.
Has become the family’s go-to photographer.
“Satan, take a picture of me and Mammon!” “Satan, take our picture, quick!” “Satan, help me get a picture for my Devilgram!”
He’s the reason Asmo’s Devilgram pictures always look like they’re taken professionally in a photo studio or something.
Satan loves art, likes to stroll through museums and stare at paintings for hours, but has little talent in creating them. Even so, he still likes to paint even if he's not good at it.
Sometimes he just wants to slap paint on a canvas and make a colorful mess. It's fun.
He joins Art Day every other month.
Another thing he does is knitting! It relaxes him. It gives him something to focus at when he's angry (um, angrier than usual), just to give his hands something to do that doesn't involve breaking anything. The simple patterns he makes are easy enough that they don't frustrate him.
Rarely ever finishes his knitting though, you'll just find this 5 meters long knitted fabric in one corner of his room with the ends coming undone because he calms himself down enough to stop knitting.
Asmodeus
Regularly designs, cut, and sew his own clothes.
Has a lot of sketchbooks full of drawings of flowy dresses and stylish coats and many aesthetically pleasing shirts.
He has started his own clothing line and sometimes collaborate with Majolish.
But for the most part, he designs clothes for himself and himself only, he doesn't want anyone else to wear clothes as fabolous as his.
Nail art? Nail art.
Asmo paints all of the brothers nails and sometimes he'll persuade one of them to let him do a complete manicure, with glitter polish and shiny studs and all.
Yes, even Lucifer. You just never see the results because Lucifer wears his gloves almost all the time.
Asmo creates beautiful makeup art. He doesn't really like a lot of makeup on his own face though, so his brothers' faces are his canvases.
He also has a great eye for interior decorating and flower arranging. He restyles his room every month.
Not many people know it but he paints. And he's very good at it. He has done a painting of each brother, the paintings can be seen on the walls of the House of Lamentation's hallways.
Art Day with Levi (and sometimes Satan or Belphie) is spent with him in front of canvases, chatting with his brothers, paint splatters on his hands. It's the only day that he doesn't mind looking a little messy.
Beelzebub
He cooks, of course!  And bakes too!
It's one of the times he’s willing to wait to eat because cooking the ingredients first rather than just straight up eating them will make the foods taste better.
Half of the food in the kitchen are his creations. Anything he can make on his own from scratch, he will; jams, ice cream, sauces, juices, bread, chips, etc.
Likes to experiment and always do something different than the original recipes.
He garnishes his cooking like it’s something you order from a five star restaurant.
Beel is another demon who has a green thumb. He likes taking care of plants and doesn't mind getting a bit dirty doing it so gardening is another hobby of his.
If Lucifer plants ornamental plants, Beel grows useful plants like herbs and vegetables and small fruits. He's also good at topiary.
Always has an idea for a DIY project.
His creations is scattered all over the House of Lamentation. Belphie's drawer divider is made out of yogurt cups. Broken drawer knobs recycled into Asmo's jewelry organizer. The coat rack. The bathroom towel holder.
Even Lucifer's hanging Demonus rack is handmade by Beel when he's bored one weekend, with Mammon's help for the engraving decorations along the sides of the rack. Beel's got a bit of Bob the Builder in him.
He is very good at singing. His voice is clear and he has a broad vocal range. Has been caught unconsciously humming in class many times.
Has definitely sang Belphie to sleep.
Belphegor
Does his pranks counts as a creative outlet though?😂 Between him and Satan, Belphie's ideas are the most creative and out of the box, resulting on some of the best pranks they did.
Belphie does origami. It's relaxing, easy enough to learn, and doesn't take much effort and energy to do it.
Has stacks of origami papers in his room: standard origami paper, foil paper, traditional Washi ones, the leather-like Momigami paper, all kinds of paper.
He especially loves to make little origami stars and keeps them in glass jars in his room.
Belphie also has adult coloring books.
And kids coloring books.
Coloring is relaxing to him. It's very calming to just lay down and fills a page with pretty colors for a while. It's not a tiring way to destress, he can color without moving from his bed, and it feels satisfying when he finishes a whole page.
He sometimes joins Art Day if he's not too lazy to move. Still prefers to color alone where it's quiet though.
He also journals. It's another thing he can do that is inexpensive and not energy consuming. He writes about anything that comes to his mind, his thoughts, his ideas, memories.
Definitely keeps a dream journal.
Also I headcanon that as the Avatar of Sloth, sleep and dreams are some of the things he can manipulate. He enjoys creating dreams; the worldbuilding, the story, the details. He can be really creative when it comes to making them, spinning the most vivid and imaginative dreams.
They’re not necessarily good dreams though. After all, he is still a demon, his dreams will most likely mess up your mind than make you smile in your sleep.

You like fashion, build 3 outfits for skank kurt?
thank you sm for the ask!!! this was a lot of fun to do :DDD
i ended up going the more punk route with the outfits. tbh im still deciding on how i feel about everything..... but! i think that skank!kurt would be into junji ito, which is why i included a shirt with his art in the middle outfit. i *really* wanna see kurt wearing some harnesses... so that's why i included that in the middle and left outfit. and even though kurt's a skank, he still loves fashion - the jacket in the outfit on the right is designer
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ANDDD!!!! i feel like we can't have skank!kurt outfits without what his battle jacket would look like. this is just kinda like a moodboard on what i think he'd have on it. kurt would definitely diy a lot of it and would make patches with skank!quinn afterschool... maybe even sleepovers where they mess around with clothes and cut up & restyle their whole closet

FAQ
Where I am from, my age and ...
I`m from Ukraine and I`m 31 yo. I live in the small mountain town. (It`s so hard to survive when you are the only one goth in such a small town and where people are stereotypical, religious, superstitious and rude).
I am an artist and jeweller.
Blog
I run this tumblr blog since October 2013. It was mostly about alternative/goth fashion and style. But now there are more atmospheric pictures with nature or dark random stuff.
I wear black since I was 14 y.o.
My favorite music
I listen to metal mostly (doom, black, death), but also love classics and soundtracks (oh heaven, soundtracks for movies and series can be sooo good!)
Style
Killstar, Restyle pl, Disturbia, Dollskill, Punk Rave, Rogue and Wolf (if you want my 10% discount code for shoping from Rogue and Wolf - just ask or find my recent posts with R+W products).
My fav shoes are Dr.Martens, Demonia, Current Mood. I love platforms so much!
Also I like casual and simple clothing, just wear black, add some jewelry or accssesories and that`s it.
And DIY. I just love DIY, because you can crete whatever you want, you just need some basic clothes and imagintion. Just add some chains, spikes, patches, cut or rip, paint .... This is the best, because everyone on instagram wear killstar or something like that and it`s boring to see so many people in the same clothes, haha.
Makeup
I adore makeup. There so many cool brands! I like Popstar Cosmeics, Lunatick Cosmetic Labs, Molly Cosmetics, Makeup Revolution, Focallure. I use only cruelty free makeup, because I love animals and don`t support cruelty.
Books
I like reading, espessialy fantasy. I`m a fan of Vampire Chronicles,  A Song of Ice and Fire, The Witcher.
Movies/Series
I like fantasy, thrillers, dramas, historical. Don`t like comedies and movies about super heroes. Marvel and DC are not for me.
I`m a bif fan of cartoons! But I don`t like anime.
For those who writes me sexual fantasies about me and sends me dick pics - I dont`t need that shit. I`m not interest. I`m asexual. Please stop. Thank you.
If you like what I`m doing and want to support me:

femmeghouleh replied to your post: Where do you buy your cool goth clothes Wendy?...
god hate to say it but when i did goth it was hotttopic. blackcraft. restyle. killstar. i was mallgoth sumpreme
personally i don't think there's anything wrong w/ being a mallgoth as long as u respect the culture in the ways u can. theres a lot of unnecessary gatekeeping in the goth community.
what mallgoth STANDS for doesn't jive at all with my own morals, but im just hopelessly in love with how it LOOKS, and its hard for me to find that look in the other styles/subcultures. the only option i've really found besides thrifting is DIY. but im kinda terrible with my hands, so it's not really the most accessible alternative.

Fluffy Hcs of miyuki, koushuu, sanada, mei, furuya, and toujou having a smol gf? Thanks my dude
Miyuki Kazuya
He’s not very tall himself really
But that doesn’t stop him from teasing her
Loves that all his clothes look huge on her
Totally uses her head as an arm rest if the height difference is great enough
Once they were about to kiss and Miyuki had to stop her so he could go grab a stool for her stand on
He didn’t think she’d actually use it but she surprised him while he was laughing to himself
----
Okumura Koushuu
Also not the tallest
Both kinda tease eachother
“Babe can you even reach that?”
“Can you?”
“I do have the longer arms”
Enjoys watching her creative ways to reach something from the higher shelves
----
Sanada Shunpei
Jokes about her being able to wear his shirts as a dress
The little shit purposefully puts things on the highest shelves
Does this especially after an argument
She either has to ask him for help or put a step stool (that he’s hidden) on a chair
One day she decides to style on of his shirts as a dress (kinda like that DIY boyfriend flannel restyled)
They were going out on a date that day, and boy was he shocked he soon turned the look of amazement into a smirk
----
Narumiya Mei
Used to being shorter than just about everybody
Relishes on the fact that he’s taller- even if it’s not by much
“How’s the weather down there?”
“How about you come down here and see?”
Uses the opportunity to bend down and kiss her
He, along with close friends, are the only ones allowed to tease her about her height
----
Furuya Satoru
Doesn’t think anything of it really
When he sees her struggling to reach something he’ll just lift her up
Does it without even thinking too
Cuddling can be a bit challenging
Sometimes he’ll just move so she’s laying on him
----
Toujou Hideaki
Piggyback rides are 1000% a thing
All his jackets pretty much swallow her
She constantly uses said jackets as blankets
Sometimes before class begins she’ll sit on his desk so they can comfortably be face to face as possible
Helps her reach things without giving her too much grief

Quick review of 79 goth brands.
ACDC Rag - A Japanese brand! Runs small and short. Won’t fit plus size at all. A bit pricey, but good quality and looks interesting. Alchemy Gothic - Great quality, great look. A bit pricey. Sometimes Halloween stores sell their cheaper stuff for good prices. Appalling Apparel - Average quality horror t-shirts for average prices.  Banned Apparel - Cute, decent quality, and usually pretty good price. Shop around, places like to sell this brand for more than it’s worth sometimes. Blackbird Parlor - If you want a custom knitwear, this place will make anything to your specifications for a decent price. Handmade, so it’s a little expensive. Begotten -  Lasts forever and looks great but good luck finding a second hand dress. If you do, it’s either stupid expensive or fifteen bucks. No inbetween. Blackcraft Cult - Don’t go for their clothing. It’s overpriced and not that creative. Their furniture is nice, though. Castle Corsetry - Expensive, but super nice quality. Save up for this if you want a corset as a main statement. ChicStar - Cheap both in price and quality. Use it when just starting out or for DIY. Runs a bit small. Corset Story - (Also CorsetDeal) CHEAP AND ABSOLUTELY SHIT QUALITY. DO NOT BUY, YOU WILL HURT YOURSELF. Cryoflesh - A bit expensive, but nice looking and good quality cyber clothes. Current Mood -  Expensive and surprisingly generic looking. You can find better stuff that looks the same from other companies. Cutting Edge Threads -  I think they merged with Jawbreaker. Nice quality, a bit pricey. Find it second hand if you can. Cykxtees - REALLY nice, REALLY expensive. Try finding online, because you’re not gonna find these in stores. Does medieval and I love it. Dark In Love -  Runs REALLY small. On the low tier of expensive. Unique designs but won’t be the same as the picture. Quality is decent. Get a fancy outfit while on sale, but don’t buy full price. Don’t get your basics here, either. DarkStar - A bit pricey and falls apart REALLY easy. A lot of their stuff looks like Lip Service stuff from the 90s. If you want to go 90, I’d suggest them, just have basic sewing skills and be ready to use them. Dead Threads -  Good quality but expensive. Get on sale. You can find some stuff similar to Hearts n’ Roses for a bit cheaper. Edgy teenager vibe. Delightfully Deviant - Wish they’d use less satin... Nice quality, a little expensive. Can make some really fantastic stuff when it’s not satin. Owner is a gem of a person. Demonia - Expensive and easy to ruin. Their shoes will usually lower in price the longer they’re up, so wait a year or so before buying or get it on sale. You can also find some of the same styles at their child brand, Pleaser. Devil Clothing - Sold by most places online for more than it’s worth. Really soft, could be stitched better on shirts and dresses. Get it on sale only. Runs a bit small. Disturbia - SUPER overpriced. T-shirts you could easily make at home with some scissors and safety pins. Either that or really basic clothes sold for ten times the normal cost. Don’t even bother with this brand. Doc Martens - Expensive for plain boots, but these things last DECADES and feel great while doing it. The price is worth it. Can be used as work boots as well. DollsKill - Generic looking and over priced. Average quality.  Dracula Clothing - Medium quality for a medium price. Okay for starting out a romantic wardrobe. If you can sew, you can find some of their jacket patterns at Joanne’s. Drklght Clothing - If you like Killstar and Dollskill shirts, but wish they were cheaper, this is the place for you. Good quality, decent design, decent prices. Dulce Calaveritas - Really nice quality accessories for great prices. More horror themed, but classy. Eternal Love - Looks a little costume-y, a bit pricey. Decent quality. Hard to find, look on eBay. Eva Lady - BEAUTIFUL. Expensive. Great romantic clothes made out of nice materials, but still really expensive. Find a sale. Fi Machine - Spooky bags that are handmade. Decent price, great quality. Fiend Boutique - Cute, causal necklaces for a great price. The black paint rubs off the chains, though. Funhouse - Does this brand still exist? Looks great, price is decent, needs upkeep if you’re gonna be wearing it a lot. Basic sewing skills required. Hearts ‘n Roses - Quality clothing. Runs a bit small. A bit more expensive than it should be. Heavy Red - Expensive, nice quality, you can find a lot of what they have for cheaper or can make it yourself for a lot cheaper. Sometimes they do come out with “WOW” pieces, though, so just wait for a sale. Hell Bunny - Runs small. Seems to have gone to 50s clothes as of late. Not too pricey and thankfully not all dry-clean only. Hillary's Vanity - Depends on what you buy. Mostly expensive. I wouldn’t suggest their tulle or “brocade” clothes, but their other stuff is pretty good quality. Hot Topic - Yeah, the brand for the the store. Average quality, good for basics. Uses dye that rubs off, so wash it a few times before wearing. Iron Fist - Okay quality shoes for a good price. Nice designs, sizing is all over the place. Buy second hand since the company went bankrupt and isn’t getting orders out anymore. Isabella Corsets - FANTASTIC corsets for a great price. If you want custom, it’ll be more expensive, but these are body modification devices, so don’t try to cheap out. JawBreaker - Runs a bit small. Really nice look, good quality. Expensive. Killstar - Overpriced. Their quality absolutely fell off the map in the last year. Five wears and their shoes are falling apart. Runs a bit small, tends to overuse occult designs. Kreepsville666 - Decent price for decent clothes. More horrorpunk than anything else at this point. Accessories are cheap and great for DIY or Halloween. Lip Service - Decent price. Runs a little small, lasts forever if you maintain it properly. Miniskirts are MUCH shorter than they look at first. Living Dead Souls - Really nice clothes, great quality for a decent price. More high-end, so they’re a little expensive.  Love Pain and Stitches - If you’ve seen a jack-o-lantern bag, it’s probably from here. Phenomenal quality and a decent price. Super hard to get a hold of, though, they’re handmade and sell out really fast. Madame Zombie Fx - Holy crap, these shoes are to die for. Great quality, a bit pricey. Good luck finding them at conventions. They also have some cute accessories for great prices. Memento Mori Goods - High quality, beautiful pins for a great price. Their other stuff is okay. Ms.Formaldehyde Couture - Pricey headdresses, but everything else is pretty and pretty cheap. Quality is a mixed bag. Do your research before buying. Necessary Evil - They overcharge for the basics. Not by much, but you can get the same plain black maxi dress from Target for ten dollars cheaper. Average quality. Don’t bother. New Rock -  A bit pricey, but wonderful quality. Do look a little over-the-top most of the time, though. PawStar - Nice quality belts and accessories for cybergoths and gravers. (And anyone into the furry/kink scene.) Good quality for a good price. Pentagramme - Nice looking clothes with a decent quality. Really pricey, though. Don’t go clubbing in the lace or chiffon styles, they’ll rip easily and it’ll be money down the drain. Pleaser -  Demonia’s cheaper subsidiarity. Falls apart easy, but the price is NOTHING compared to Demonia. Carries some of the same styles for much cheaper, too. Buy if you don’t mind using rubber cement to hold your platforms together. Poizen Industries - Really overpriced basics. Good quality. Wait for clearance, they’ll be knocked down to less than half their price. Princess Madison - Only found at conventions and on etsy. Has nice hats and meh everything else. A little pricey. You can usually find similar elsewhere for cheaper. Punk Rave -  Runs absolutely tiny. Expensive for nice looking, decent quality clothes. A bit overblown, but most other companies don’t make the same style, so what are you gonna do? Queen of Darkness -  A nice look and good quality, but expensive. They overcharge for the basics and a lot of their styles can be found elsewhere. Get a fancy coat or something, but if you just need a black maxi dress look elsewhere. Restyle -  Everything they have is just okay quality. Looks fantastic, but it’s not gonna last. Clothes are a bit overpriced for the quality and run small. Jewelry is a great price. Again, their stuff looks nice, but in two months the silver’s rubbing off and the coat’s snagged. Retroscope Fashions - Pricey, average quality. It’ll last if you maintain it. Leans more steampunk, much like Spin Doctor.  Rock Rebel - Horror t-shirts of average quality for an average price. Rosetic - Cheap quality, average price, nice look. Runs tiny and falls apart REALLY easy. Some styles are a knock-off of Eva Lady. Be careful when buying. Royal Bones - Tripp under another name. Same quality, but pricier. Falls apart easily. Buy on sale. Samiah -  Ask yourself, do you need that extra kidney? If you can sell your organs, you can have a REALLY nice jacket. Seriously, these things make you feel fantastic wearing them but will give you a heart attack once you see the price tag. Great quality, but way too overpriced. Shrine is a better option. Serious - Cheap looking fetish clothes. OK price. Shrine - Expensive as hell, but great quality. These things are made for royalty. Good luck. Sourpuss - Pins are decent quality and price. Clothes are nothing to write home about. Spin Doctor -  Nice clothes with good quality. Can get expensive. Buy on sale. Spirit - Yeah, the Halloween store. Poor quality, cheap price, cute for a year or so if you maintain it. Good for things like shorts to wear under skirts, really cheap petticoats, or a slightly dented pentagram necklace. Subterranea - Looks good as long as it’s not their polyester stuff. PRICEY. Nice quality. Good luck finding these dresses. Usually really pricey since they’re out of business. Super Low Fat - Good luck finding this brand! Usually not that pricey despite being out of business. Good quality, too bad everything looks really cheap. Sweet Midnight -If you like mixing goth and Disney, this is the place for you. Their skirts are a little pricey, but their other stuff is good quality for a great price. 13’s Closet - Good looking clothes. A little too expensive for my taste. Average quality. Their bat accessories are where they shine, but again, it’s a bit pricey.  Too Fast - Rare instance of a pin-up company going goth instead of the other way around. Good quality.  A bit more expensive than they should be. Buy on sale. TrippNYC -  Even though everyone makes fun of these, it lasts a long time. Their larger zippers can break easily. I wish more of their stuff wasn’t dry-clean only. Good quality for a decent price. T.U.K. - Decent quality shoes. A bit pricey, get them second hand. Don’t wear them in the rain or snow. Victorian Choice - Cheap price overall for the dress styles. Meh quality fabric. If you want a Victorian inspired look fast, it’s a good first dress if you get it on sale. Save up and get something better quality later. Vimpoke - Do not buy from them. They just resell cheap AliExpress products with insane mark-ups. Like, charging $70 to $150 more than the product normally sells. Horrible quality products, shady business practices. Just find the same thing on AliExpress for less than half price. Voodoo Vixen - Sadly went the way of the pin-up. Decent clothes, a bit pricey. Runs small. Take measurements before buying. Widow - Meh quality clothes sold for a high price. Most designs can be found in a better quality elsewhere. Don’t bother unless it’s in clearance for dirt cheap. XXX Rude - Great quality basics for guys. A bit overpriced. Wait for a sale or buy secondhand. Some notes: You don’t have to get brand name everything. Most basics of a wardrobe can be found at places like Target or Walmart. Thrifting is super cool in the community. Try DIY if you’re feeling creative. Never buy one-size-fits-all fishnets. Check back later, this list sometimes updates with more brands.
