The black structure forms an elaborated network of tiny pipes that shrink more and more, until they reach individual cells that they feed with air. Sometimes, there is an "air bag", which improves the locust's lighness and allows him to fly. There is no blood system : the air directly enters into the trachea and navigates to the cells.

I love seeing system anon bc we're a system with creepypasta fictives too. Masky and Tim are part of a sub system, and Masky has literally only ever fronted to clean. Tim only fronts when we're in the woods. Toby tries to take front way too much, and if we're in social situations he gets really awkward and immediately leaves despite begging to front.
