Gale and Tara holiday party edition.

Warnings:Possible spoilers as all good endings are assumed but nothing directly mentioning them I just want to warn just in case. Tav is also mentioned but is gender neutral and not described.

Summery: Gale and Tara throw a party for the winter solstice however some preparations are harder than anticipated.

“Come on, could you please just work with me here? You’re the one who suggested this,” Gale grumbled out. He was sitting on the ground with Tara in his lap trying to get a sweater onto her. One that matched the one he was already wearing. “You said it would be nice to wear these with everyone around. Why are you making it so difficult?” he asked. They were hosting a winter solstice holiday party for the friend’s Gale made on his adventure.

“I’m not being difficult, I am trying to help,” Tara said, offended he would suggest she was being any less than helpful. She was currently squirming around on his lap as he tried to grab a leg to put in a sleeve.

“Could you at least move a limb for me please?” he asked nicely. He stopped trying to get her into the sweater for a moment when he got hit in the face by one of her wings. He let out a disappointed sigh. “Not that one.”

“You ought to be more specific on which limb you want me to move then Mr. Dekarios,” She pointed out as he returned to grabbing one of her front legs and lifting it up. “Here I’ll stop moving so that way you can do what you need,” she said as she stopped all her squirming. Though she felt herself starting to slide off of his lap.

“How are you leaking off my lap?” Gale asked, confused. He had to rescoop her and put her back on his lap and use one arm to contain her. “It’s like you're grease slipping out of a cracked bottle or something,” he commented.

“Mr. Dekarios if you compare me to grease again it won’t be my wing you’ll have to worry about hitting your face,” she threatened. He nodded and took this as a good time to shut his mouth for once. After using the arm that was containing her to lift her up a little he was able to get her first leg through one of the sleeves and made quick to do the same to the other paw. Then, he rested her down on his lap and made to maneuver her wings through the wing holes in the sweater. This was a slightly harder task especially when it needed both hands and she had gone back to leaking out of his lap. Internally he made a note to get her wings in first before the legs next time. If for whatever reason he blocks out how difficult this was and decides to do it again sometime.

“There you’re all dressed up now,” he announced after quite a while of struggling when he had finally gotten her wings through. Tara then made to jump on a nearby table with a mirror on it to look at herself. A knock at the door pulled Gale’s attention away from trying to get some of Tara’s fur off his sweater.

“Seems our first guest has arrived,” he said as he walked over to the door to open and welcome whoever was on the other side. He was surprised to find not one of his friends but all of them standing on the other side of the door. It was a good surprise to be sure.

“We ran into each other and decided to make our way together,” Tav explained. Gale step slightly out of the way so they could all walk into his house.

“Well no use waiting around out there, come on in,” he said as he stepped to the side so everyone could enter. Once the last person was in he closed the door behind them. “I was a bit preoccupied helping tara get into her sweater ,so unfortunately I’m a little behind on preparations. Nonetheless let’s all try to have some fun,” he said. As if on cue Tara ran into the room and seemed to pose for everyone to show off her clothes.

“Mrs. Dekarios has really outdone herself on the knitting this time,” she commented as she walked around in a circle to show it off to everyone. Astarion chuckled hearing that.

“You’re wearing matching sweaters with your cat that your mom made you?” he asked with a laugh. Tara hissed in response to him clearly not liking what he said or was insinuating.

“How many times do I have to tell you. She’s not a cat she’s a tressym and she’s not my pet she’s my friend,” he corrected. “And yes I am wearing matching sweaters with her that my mother made. She put love into every stitch of them and they look good,” he finished.

“In all our time adventuring I never pegged you as a mama’s boy,” Shadowheart commented trying to restrain her own laugh. Few of the others let out their own chuckles and giggles at that.

“Come on guys I think it’s sweet that he cares about his mother and that she cares for him,” Karlach defended. Wyll nodded in agreement though his amusement of his friend’s teasing was evident on his face.

“Mr. Dekarios is not a mama’s boy. A mama’s boy would visit more often than he does. He leaves his poor mother alone wondering and worrying about him,” Tara chimed in. This caused Astarion to start laughing once more. Gale noticed out of the corner of his eye that tav seemed to be getting frustrated as they attempted to get his attention.

“Yes Tav what is it?” he asked. Tav then reached over to his hair and pull something out.

“You had a Tara feather in your hair,” they said, holding the feather up so he could see it. He could already tell that this would be a long party, but one filled with fun.

The point if the kitchen adventure is not to do it well but to try and get Ultra Magnus to stop him in a sexy way or notice how he dropped all this whipped Energon all over himself.

It fails of course because Magnus towels him down and in restrained excitement gets out all his measuring equipment and scales, large prints the recipe, and with painful slowness and patience helps Rodimus follow it exactly right. He has to rescoop the magnesium chips 35 times to get the right weight.

The food comes out strictly correct, but Rodimus is drained by the end and frantically calling Drift, who is in the middle of flirting with Ratchet to ask if he's just not sexy anymore. Cue Drift spending thirty minutes telling Rodimus he definitely is and can definitely pull anyone. Ratchet would like to unhear certain very specific compliments.

Ultra Magnus thinks this social engagement went well, though it was a shame Rodimus had to leave quickly and carefully packs up the cookies to arrange on Rodimus's desk for him to snack on. He does feel slightly embarrassed, though, given how flustered he'd been the whole time and is certain Rodimus noticed his increased use of conjunctions every time they touched. He was so very obvious he may as well have plastered himself on Rodimus's back.

Magnus skipped the hint though because out of everyone Mags would be fucking amazing at the specificity needed for Baking. This fucker will perfectly level off the rising agent with a flat scraper and he will properly measure the liquids and dry ingredients in separately.

Poor Rodimus didn't get what he wanted and his bestie is prepared to back him up to Ratchet's annoyance

Mags would totally think he won at interacting, these two flirt in such different ways and I like to imagine Rodimus will be having feels about the cookies sitting perfectly on his desk.

Pet sitting rn and I was trying to feed the dogs their breakfast quickly so I could take them to daycare before the lobby hours closed but for some reason one of the dogs was refusing to eat. There's been a few times in the past where she didn't eat her food right away either, but her bowl stays in her crate with her while I'm gone and usually after a few rounds of me coming by to let her out to potty and then putting her back in she's finished her first bowl in time for me to give her dinner. Today it was different though, bc she wasn't going to stay in her crate. She was going to go to daycare for run-around-with-other-dogs time

I tried everything I could to figure out what was wrong so I could get her to eat. Do you want to be in the crate? Out of the crate? Do you want me away from your food? In another room? Closer to the food?? Do you want me to rescoop it where you can see it coming out of the dog food bag? Do you want it out of the bowl and on the floor?? Nothing worked, she just kept staring at me and crying

Please eat food, I begged her. You haven't eaten since last night and I don't want you to go to daycare on an empty stomach. They won't have food for you there and you'll be hungry. I have never had to beg a dog to eat food before, what is going on

With the clock ticking ever closer to 10 AM I picked up her food in a potentially dangerous last ditch effort to see if she would eat it out of my hands, but she still wouldn't touch it... Until a single piece of kibble fell out of my hands and she gobbled it up. I dropped another piece. She ate it

After a bit of testing I found out that after months of me pet sitting her without issue, this dog had decided that the only way she would eat her breakfast today was if I held it in my hands and dropped one piece of kibble at a time so she could eat them one by one as they hit the floor

...We were late to daycare

El Renacimiento de las Cooperativas

Siendo que, uno de los rasgos característicos de la Nueva Economía, a nivel mundial, es su carácter Colaborativo, una de las principales formas empresariales con las cuales se manifiesta, son las Cooperativas.

El nacimiento de las cooperativas se remonta al 24 de octubre de 1844 en Inglaterra, cuando un grupo de 28 trabajadores (27 hombres y 1 mujer) de la industria textil de la ciudad de Rochdale que se habían quedado sin empleo tras una huelga, constituyeron una empresa que se llamó Sociedad Equitativa de los Pioneros de Rochdale, a la cual aportaron cada uno la cantidad de 28 peniques.

Desde esa fecha para acá, prácticamente, en todos los países del mundo, se han desarrollado experiencias cooperativas, algunas fracasadas y muchas exitosas, que la convierten en una de las más destacadas figuras empresariales existentes, tanto en los países capitalistas como de corte socialista, hasta el punto que en 2012, el Monitor Cooperativo Mundial reveló que el volumen de negocios de las 300 principales cooperativas había crecido un 11,6%, alcanzando los 2,2 trillones de dólares estadounidenses en ese año, cifra equivalente al PIB de Brasil.

Las cooperativas se rigen por una serie de principios, por lo cuales vela, la Alianza Cooperativa Internacional (ACI), creada en el año 1895, cuya última revisión en 1995, reza:

1.       Libre adhesión

2.       Control democrático

3.       Gestión de los administradores de acuerdo a los estatutos de la cooperativa

4.       Educación cooperativa

5.       Reparto de excedentes

6.       Integración cooperativa

7.       Preocupación por la comunidad

Entre las principales cooperativas que han existido a lo largo de su historia, vale la pena destacar, sobre todo a la Cooperativa Mondragón, mejor conocida como, Corporación Mondragón, fundada en 1956.

La Corporación Mondragon es un grupo de cooperativas y empresas originario del País Vasco y actualmente extendido por el resto de España y por los cinco continentes. Constituye el primer grupo empresarial vasco y el décimo de España, así como el mayor grupo cooperativo del mundo. A finales de 2015 contaba con 74.335 trabajadores. La Corporación Mondragon está compuesta actualmente por 103 cooperativas, 125 filiales productivas, 8 fundaciones, 1 mutua, 10 entidades de cobertura y 13 servicios internacionales, distribuidas en cuatro áreas: Finanzas, Industria, Distribución y Conocimiento. Sus ingresos totales en ese año, contabilizaron los 12.110 millones de € (Euros). Para 2013, sus activos eran de 34.011 millones €.

Otro desarrollo cooperativo que merece la pena destacar es el de los Estados Unidos. Nacido a principios del siglo XIX, se ven impulsadas en el primer cuarto del siglo XX como consecuencia de las dificultades de financiación de los agricultores y la gran de­presión del 29. Actualmente, cuenta con varias cooperativas que se ubican entre las 100 más importantes a nivel mundial, entre ellas: CHS Inc (2do puesto), Dairy Farmers of America (6to puesto) y Land O´Lakes (7mo puesto).

Recientemente, con este Renacimiento, impulsado con la aparición de Internet y las tecnologías digitales, ha surgido una nueva generación de cooperativas como el Grupo de Cooperativas de las Indias, en España, la cual se dedica desde 2002 a crear conocimiento, redes, productos y servicios empoderadores para las personas, las comunidades y las organizaciones, con herramientas innovadoras que refuerzan la sostenibilidad y la resiliencia de sus proyectos.

Otros nuevos proyectos cooperativos, son los agrupados en las REScoop (Renewable Energy Source Cooperative) en Europa, que ya en Alemania logran que los ciudadanos posean directamente, más de la mitad de los nuevos sistemas de energía renovable.

Recientemente otra cooperativa, AnyShare, con sede en Arizona, Estados Unidos, fue calificada por la P2P Foundation como la primera cooperativa “completa” en ese país, la cual en asociación con FairShares han creado una plataforma cooperativa en Internet https://fairshares.anyshare.coop/ y un Hub, que las convierten en una especie de Uber o Airbnb de cooperativas a nivel mundial. Esto deberá potenciar exponencialmente, el desarrollo de la economía cooperativa y un modelo más auténtico de economía colaborativa (Cooperativa de múltiples partes interesadas- multi-stake holder cooperative), donde propietarios, trabajadores, usuarios, comunidad y ambiente, reciban beneficios en forma equitativa.

Coincidimos con la idea de que, ante el fracaso de los modelos económicos existentes hasta ahora en el mundo, los cuales no han sido capaces de brindar bienestar, equidad, libertad y felicidad a los pueblos, tanto en los países “desarrollados” como “no desarrollados”, se impone la construcción de una visión alternativa que brinde la prosperidad y emancipación universales, de la que las cooperativas serán parte.
