I love seeing people talk about how the travel destination they heard about on TikTok was actually really mediocre or shit because like oh really??? The overpriced tourist trap that some influencer was sponsored to promote is actually...an overpriced tourist trap??? Shocking.

i spend a lot of holidays in florida because my mom is a snowbird (genuine - she spends half the year up north and half the year down south) and i tend to accept that i'm not going to buy food from farmers' markets or pick up raw milk when i'm down here but i did some googling just to see the availability, and i found out that there are loads of really nice farmers' markets and that florida actually has a LOT of raw milk sellers! including one not far from where i stay. there's literally an amish-style farm that sells raw dairy, grass-fed meat, pastured eggs, and raw honey just like the farms in PA that i've bought from... maybe i can convince my mom and her friends to consume raw dairy after all?!

it's so exciting to me that there's a thriving raw milk market in florida, i just assumed most of the boomers living down here wouldn't care about that! i'm glad i was wrong!

#honestly FL is getting so much better in terms of food #there are so many high-quality restaurants now #as opposed to just the seed oil-filled bar & grills #and of course there's a lot of freshly caught seafood which helps #AND in recent years a lot of actual europeans have opened cafes selling real food #idk i think outside of miami FL has a terrible reputation for food #but it won't be that way for long

raiiii im not sure if you and your german followers agree or not, but having travelled to a handful of countries in europe, i have to say that germany has the highest percentage of good-looking men 😭😭😭 my friends and i i were travelling in germany for a week, i thought i was the only one thinking about this, but later my friend said the same thing as well haha (even your policemen are so hot, i think i saw these hot police in munich station haha)

the story of kfc fucks me up man. the colonel founded this gas station that expanded to restaurant, the chicken at the restaurant gets popular, makes KFC, it gets big and he sells it to a corporation for a lot of money. realizes he got sorta scammed out of the true worth of kfc so tries to get more money and they refuse and the courts side against him. then he starts a new chicken restaurant claiming the corporate people were not making chicken to his standards and kfc sued him because kfc owned the colonel's likeness and the courts agreed. a corporation owned this man's name and appearance. he wasnt allowed to use either, thus legally erasing his reputation making it harder for him to get taken seriously in any food venture. the man, to the day he died, was going into kfc's and throwing fits because the food had fallen into such bad shape he hated it was associated with him. and it's like, whether he's a bad man or a good man or whatever, a corporation owned his identity, stopped him from using his reputation and identity in other businesses, and refused to acknowledge his outrage that they changed his recipes and still attributed it to him. this is literally the obnoxious plot of a jay and silent bob movie, but it was this dude's real life. what the fuck.

place i worked was just ranked in the top 50 restaurants of the country (for its catagory). thats kinda cool
