The leap from “I’m disappointed I didn’t get the tickets I wanted/expected” to “Taylor no longer cares about her fans” is out of proportion. If she didn’t care and just decided she wanted money or whatever, she’d be charging for M&G and TN would be flooding the Twitter timeline with people who did manage to get tix. (I honestly think TN’s relative quiet is an indicator she/they aren’t happy either.) It’s very likely TM was shady dealing with Taylor and she/her legal team are trying to figure out how to deal with it. It’s a fraught situation because of the MONOPOLY TM HAS OVER SALES/VENUES.
I’ve been around since early TaylorConnect days and a fan since 2007. No notice on any platform ever. Since she stopped hosting her own forum, she’s been repeatedly chased off platforms by “fans” being incredibly disrespectful to her and/or each other. She survived a targeted hate campaign and somehow managed to come back online after that, albeit in a more limited and sustainable capacity. And now she’s so big she can’t open her mouth without making headlines. She resisted creating distance from us for as long as humanly possible, and the distance that’s there now has slowly built up while she tries to protect her sense of humanity. Sessions stopped for COVID, but we already had the sense they were over because of how disrespectful fans had gotten about/during them. This wasn’t a flip of a switch, and she still cares more than anyone with even a fraction of her star power. Relationships evolve, this one has too.
Also the idea that everyone who did get tickets is a local is just petty jealousy. I have several friends who have been fans as long as I have and never seen her who got good tickets. She sold 1.5mil albums in the age of streaming, the demand for her is higher than ever. And lots of fans who did get tickets either aren’t saying anything or aren’t getting gassed up like usual because everyone’s too busy yelling at the handful of shitty people who did get tix. Remember P*rez was given press passes to Rep Tour after everything—shitty people have always gotten in. I’m not saying this wasn’t bad, but it isn’t because Taylor said “fuck my fans.” You can feel your feelings without dragging everyone down with you.
The issue is Ticketmaster, their monopoly, their grudge against Taylor and her boosts/slow ticketing system, and the way the internet feels comfortable dehumanizing celebrities.

I sent this to someone else also but it also makes it feel more.. detached. don't get me wrong it's an amazing tour. but with the no m&g or “rep room" and no audience interactions (walking through) and less talking portions etc the show feels less personal and intimate than other tours and it kind of makes me sad even tho the show is great :(
i understand you! i kind of had the same thought, like it's the eras tour so of course it's more about breadth than depth - and i LOVE it, i'm amazed she did 44 songs for 3 hours straight and i think every aspect of the show is amazing. also she can't risk getting sick. but the sacrifice is that it feels less personal compared to her previous tours, which is probably an unavoidable consequence :(

hey gabbi, i hope you're okay💜 i'm still not sure if there's going to be a ts tour next year but if there is i really want to go, can you tell me about your experience buying taylor swift tickets? do you always buy them when they go live, have you ever bought a ticket weeks before a concert for a cheaper price? are stadiums more expensive than regular venues? i went to a ts concert years ago but i don't really remember that much from the buying experience
hey ana! (i'm publishing this in case anyone else wants to know, hope that's ok). originally, i was only going to go to 2 shows, so those are the shows i bought tickets to when they went live and i got the other 3 tickets later.
the first tickets I bought weren't for me, they were for a friend for the new zealand show. it was the taylorswift.com presale, and I pulled 2 front row tickets behind the centre snake pit for $250 NZD each. there were no issues, it was one of the easiest ticket buying experiences I've ever had. There was no need to pay extra for VIP or anything, there were just front row tickets for that price.
the next tickets I bought in the taylorswift.com presale were to the melbourne show 2 hours later, I also pulled a front row ticket behind the right snake pit, same price in AUD. i ended up selling this ticket later on and bought 2x fifth row tickets for my cousin and i for $250AUD each. i think that translates to roughly $200USD.
the last tickets i bought in the presale were centre snake pit tickets for sydney, which i scraped together all my birthday and christmas money to buy, there were no issues getting these at all because they were so expensive and took months to sell out.
i decided that i wanted to go to new zealand pretty shortly after, and after about a month of checking for tickets every day, i pulled up front row behind the left snake pit and bought that, also $250NZD.
the more i saw of the rep tour, the more i wanted to go to more shows. around 2-3 months before the australian tour started, they released more a reserve seats, still $250 each, and I was able to get 5th row centre seats in brisbane, 3rd row tickets in perth.
there is always this notion that if you don't get a ticket straight away, you never will. but if you really want to go to something, it will always pop up. the only time i've ever missed out on tickets was for dua lipa m&g in 2017, there were only 20 tickets available, but i ended up buying one from someone on twitter. if you're persistent and always checking you'll be able to find what you want. i can honestly say that the rep tour was one of the best/easiest ticket buying experiences i've ever had, especially because you didn't have to pay extra for "VIP tickets" to be at the front. i doubt that this tour will be like that, but we'll see!

in my opinion, a good thing that not having meet & greets for this tour brought is a better atmosphere at the concerts
people go to just watch taylor perform, have fun and spend a great time, they’re not being competitive or invasive (like those girls that once chased andrea around at the rep tour just to get noticed) nor that worry about getting the pass or not, they’re not planning costumes, jumping, dancing and singing screaming the lyrics just to be chosen, they’re doing it because they’re genuinely having a lot of fun and i think that’s awesome
(meet and greets were so cool and such an unforgettable experience for those chosen but after some time it started looking like some people were just going to see if they could get the m&g ygwim)

no absolutely! I’m really grateful for what we got! She’s been working her ass off! To be fair I think it’s mostly because of Covid. But m&gs have been a staple of her Brand since before debut came out and idk if it’s because she mainly uses tiktok now but it feels like she’s been actively trying to step back from fan interactions.
and good for her in some aspects! the security risk is even higher now with certain Types Of Fans (remember what happened at TIFF?), the Covid risk is a giant thing for her, and she’s been kinda annoyed with the way some fans act (see: burning the lover house, saying she heard us talking shit about her “ignoring” evermore, the scarf incident at TIFF, the lover sessions, tracking her damn plane, etc etc etc). It all just makes me really sad that these reasons collided at the same time.
everyone who got invited to a secret session/post concert m&g, please be aware of what this all implies for the rest of us. Taylor has tried her very best to reach as many fans as possible in previous years and the absence of sessions and a m&g this cycle are warning signs. I don’t know if it’ll ever come back even after/IF Covid is at least mostly eradicated. be humble. do not shove your pictures down our throats. there are tons of us who have been silently hoping for one small chance and it’s gone now. Again taylor has tried her hardest to reach all of us, and the task is simply too big. I am not bitter or mad. Please just be humble.
