The mayors of Tucson, Ariz., and Brownsville, Texas, on Monday came out in favor of the Biden administration’s decision to end pandemic restrictions on asylum processing.
Tucson Mayor Regina Romero (D) and Brownsville Mayor Trey Mendez released a joint statement celebrating the administration’s decision to end Title 42, a Trump-era policy that blocked many migrants from exercising their right to claim asylum at the border.
“We support the Biden Administration’s decision to repeal Title 42 and uphold our legal and moral obligation of providing the fundamental right to seek asylum. It is the smart thing to do and it is the right thing to do. A fair and humane immigration system should be a priority for all of our leaders, not just those such as us who see the effects of a broken system every day,” the mayors wrote.
Romero, the mayor of Tucson, was elected as a Democrat. Brownsville mayors are nonpartisan, but Mendez publicly supported President Biden in the 2020 election.
The statement of support from two key border region officials comes as the administration grapples with the political fallout of its decision to end the policy. Both Tucson and Brownsville have U.S. Customs and Border Protection points of entry from Mexico.
Title 42 is slated to end May 23, which means border officials will begin processing migrants encountered at the border under regular immigration law, rather than under a public health authority.
“Title 42 was never an immigration policy and it never worked as such at our southern border. It was a public health order that President Trump manipulated to further his exclusionary agenda and mainstream anti-immigrant rhetoric,” Romero and Mendez wrote.
Under Title 42, U.S. officials can immediately expel migrants encountered at the border or at ports of entry without processing them for deportation and without allowing them to exercise their right to claim asylum.
Migrant advocates have been deeply critical of the policy for a variety of reasons.
Some of those criticisms were that Title 42 did little to protect against the coronavirus contagion, that it fostered more illegality at the border by rewarding non-asylum-seekers who sought to surreptitiously cross the border and that under the policy migrants of different nationalities had wildly different outcomes for presenting at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Still, some Democrats have slammed the administration’s decision to end Title 42, fearing that an end to the policy will mean more chaos at the border and open an undefended flank to Republican attacks on migration and border security.
And some border region Democrats are pushing the administration to delay the end of Title 42, saying that’s what border communities want.
“Yes, they’re listening to the immigration activists, but my question is, who’s listening to the men and women in green and in blue, and, more importantly, who is listening to the border communities, the sheriffs, the landowners, the rest of the people who live on the border?” Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) told “Fox News Sunday.”
Cuellar, a right-leaning Democrat who is fighting off a progressive primary challenge from attorney Jessica Cisneros, has historically been a voice for border security within the Democratic caucus.
But Romero and Mendez criticized Democrats who embrace a rhetoric of border security versus immigrant rights.
“Instead of caving into the anti-immigrant rhetoric of the Republicans, Congress should work on real immigration reform that doesn’t exploit an arcane public health authority to deny people their basic, human right to seek asylum,” they wrote.
And the two mayors painted an optimistic picture of border management where security is not at odds with proper asylum management.
“Our offices are working closely with the Biden Administration and with various community organizations on the ground to ensure that there are resources in place to execute a comprehensive plan to process asylum seekers, crack down on cartels, and establish appropriate COVID-19 protocols. We must remain steadfast in our work to provide refuge to those fleeing persecution and violence in their home countries, just as our European allies are doing with Ukrainian refugees,” Romero and Mendez wrote.

Mean girls (2024) thoughts
(obviously spoilers for the movie!)
- personally, I loved it. As someone who’s been totally (not) normal about the og mean girls movie since 2015 and saw the musical on broadway, the target audience was me
- Reneé Rapp Regina my beloved. She was the Regina I saw on broadway so this was extra special to me
- MS NORBURY AND PRINCIPAL DUVALL ARE A COUPLE?? “Can you run this?” “Fine but you walk the dogs the rest of the week” “I love you” “I love you too”. I’m so glad she found a good guy after her divorce <3
- Janis was such a vibe. Idk she just reminds me of myself in high school but with my current fashion sense. Weird art kid rep !!
- I cried twice. Once when they showed cady in kenya bc I always cry at musical opening numbers and again when Mrs. Heron said September 9th. THATS MY BIRTHDAY THEY SAID MY BIRTHDAY IN THE MOVIE
- When Damien performed the icarly theme song in french like it was a film from the 1930s. That was so real of him
- I think it’s actually really important for gen z to have their own version of this story. The explicit queerness of Janis was great. Waaay less of the casual fatphobia that was rampant in the 2000s. As someone who grew up loving mean girls, but also relatively recently graduated from high school, I can relate to this one more and it felt so nice
- in a similar vein, I liked the use of social media throughout the movie. It felt real, like how teens actually use it. This movie just didn’t feel like it was making fun of teens, like a lot of teen media does nowadays
- It’s so funny to me that they’re just not revealing what Glen Coco looks like. Not even some random extra. It’s just everyone reacting to Glen Coco getting the candy cane grams, but no shots of Glen
- WHY is Megan Thee Stallion giving input to drama at some high school in Illinois?? I love how she’s getting into acting now
- Also. The fact that they get real tiktokers sent me. Why did I see chris olsen in this movie
- The beanie baby 😭 so real for girls who grew up in the 2000s
- Lindsey Lohan being at the mathlete competition was everything to me. It was my version of Tobey McGuire & Andrew Garfield in no way home
- I thought the detail that Karen’s necklace with her name on it was backwards several times. She’s so stupid and I love her <3
- Speaking of Karen, her expressions were so funny. Just like this for 90% of the movie 👁️ 👁️
- Principal Duvall’s still got carpal tunnel after all this time, huh
- When Karen was trying on different Halloween costumes, I noticed that she had one of the tank top with the holes cut in it like Regina had in the first movie. We love to see callbacks like that
- Lastly, it was a good movie! People who say it’s bad don’t know what they’re talking about. They probably just didn’t know it was a musical or anything about the musical. But as someone who adores every adaptation of mean girls (except for the “sequel”), it was great!! Ppl who hate it just don’t like fun ig

thinking about how pretty much every single show with lesbian representation has been cancelled or ended by the network in the last year. it hurts so fucking much to see shows being cancelled that have a huge fan base or killing off lesbian characters without a second thought. it’s not gay shows that are being canceled, no, it is wlw shows. mlm shows have continued to go on getting praise and renewals where shows like first kill, even though they’re cheesy and shitty, that have lesbian main characters one being a black woman and having a half black cast are cancelled. it had twice the viewing of shows like heartstopper, a show with two white gay men leads, that got renewed in the first few weeks of its release. even with netflix setting first kill up to fail by releasing it at the same time as huge shows like stranger things and umbrella academy, it still was a huge hit and had such a loving fan base.
the wilds with a lesbian main couple and diverse female cast literally centered around the concept of girl power. huge and dedicated fan base. cancelled. killing eve lesbian main characters one of them being sandra fucking oh that explores the dark side of ourselves while giving really good rep. one of the most dedicated fan bases i’ve seen. cancelled. and not just that, what could have so easily been a happy ending for the couple was ripped from us in the last five minutes right after the characters finally admitted feelings after four fucking seasons. one of them is murdered right in front of the other.
i can’t speak much to shows like everything sucks and the society because i haven’t bothered to watch them knowing they get cancelled. i don’t want to get attached to beautifully written and relatable characters for some big rich homophobic network to tell me no, no you can’t have this anymore. that’s happened too many times to me. right as the couple is happy and things are okay, one of them dies in front of the other like clexa, villaneve, dani and jamie from bly manor. some don’t even really get the opportunity to get to that point and others are just left with their relationship unfinished, with things left unsaid. and don’t even get me started on queer baiting.
yeah gay shows in general with good representation are fucking hard to come by but i’m sorry. mlm don’t face the same kind of hardships that wlw do. there’s a reason burying your lesbians became such a well known trope. because lesbians in shows die all of the fucking time for no good reason. i wish companies like netflix, hbo, and prime would stop fucking being cowards and admit the real reason they’re cancelling these shows. it’s not because they’re not being viewed enough or don’t have a strong fan base. it’s because they’re fucking lesbophobic i don’t want to hear anything else about it or any bullshit that it wasn’t a big enough hit. it may be the 21st century but lesbians aren’t magically equal even within the lgbtq community. the only place to get good representation these days is from fan made sources like fan fiction and fan art. made by people who understand how hard it is.
it’s where we get to see what we’ve always wanted to see, the characters we love, loving each other and being happy. we don’t have big writers scratching ideas because it “wouldn’t look good or be good for ratings”. we get a world where villanelle and eve lived happily ever after instead of villanelle dying in front of eves eyes and and floating into the abyss. not some bullshit from laura fucking neal who knows absolutely nothing about the characters we know telling us it’s what they felt was right. glad burying your lesbians feels right to people. but in our fan spaces we get to see villanelle make it out alive, we get to see them have a normal life and watch movies together. we also get to see and express what we feel is right with the fuck ton of queer coding in media. we get to see nancy and robin fall in love, emma and regina confess their feelings for one another, and any of the endless amount of amazing ships that we desire. there is a reason we flock to those spaces, it’s where we feel safe, seen, and where we feel like maybe one day we can have a relationship like that, to be loved like that. but it sometimes doesn’t make up for seeing it all play out endorsed by a company and written by people that actually care about representation and their viewers instead of just money. we all want to be loved and feel accepted and seen but sadly, because of the events of the last year, i’m not gonna hold my fucking breath.
sorry this is a lot, i’m just so fucking pissed

Feluka Ballroom Waltz
Spoiler warning: potential spoilers for an upcoming timeloop au I'm making. It's still in the process so a gala scene may yet be written out, but in case it doesn't I'm keeping a warning.
@aeymii @ninadove @veevinorambles I think you might like this.
The music starts up again, a soft euphony of violins and clavichords. Numerous people head back onto the dance floor- a tinkling laughter fills the air, hands entwine, drinks spill from glass flutes. The ballroom once again becomes a brilliant display of refined movements and spinning tulle.
Luka takes this as his cue, about to duck out of sight when a familiar voice sounds out behind him. “Bonsoir, M. Couffaine.”
The boy turns to find Felix with his hand held out. His grey suit is sleek and well-kept, complimenting nicely with the green and gold brooch pinned to his lapel. The blond’s hair is slicked back and his head bowed, no doubt to hide the smirk twisting his lips (Luka can hear a distinct fanfare of hubris). He looks up at Luka then, green eyes glittering, the overhead lights turning his locks to gold.
“Felix Graham de Vanily, heir to the Fathom household. Would you do me the honor of a dance?”
Luka looks around. Lila is nowhere to be seen. Neither is Kagami, Chloe or anyone else Felix had been conspiring with. He looks back towards Felix, his hand still outstretched.
Reluctantly, the boy places his hand in Felix’s and nods.
Felix smiles then, pressing a kiss to the back of his hand and sending a coil of heat through Luka’s stomach. He places his other hand at Luka’s back and guides the two of them towards the dance floor, washing them both away into the sea of dancers.
“So, if you’re heir to the Fathoms,” Luka tries, “why is your last name ‘Graham de Vanily?’”
An impish grin flickers over Felix’s face, showing the slight cut of dimples. “My took my mother’s maiden name after my parents’ divorce. Partly out of affection, but also as somewhat of a status symbol.”
“Status symbol?” Luka quirks an eyebrow as the two spin.
“Yes.” Felix leans in conspiratorially; his breath smells like mint. “The Graham de Vanily’s have quite the prestigious rep of their own, you know.”
“Why settle for one when you can have both?” Luka hums, nodding sagely. He mentally stored those tidbits of information in the back of his head. “Interesting.”
Felix’s eyes gleam in response. “So what about you?” he asks, eyes narrowing just a fraction; someone less observational would have missed it entirely. “The long lost son of Jagged Stone. That’s quite the tale.”
“There’s nothing I can tell you that you wouldn’t already know,” the other boy snipes bitterly before he can stop himself.
“I see.” Felix muses, and there’s a slight devious lilt to his voice that makes Luka immediately regret his little emotional outburst. “My sincere condolences.”
“It’s not your fault,” Luka says a little too quickly. Smooth, Luka. “Anyway- you seem well-connected.”
Felix’s smile widens. “I grew up attending these parties,” as Felix waltzes them in time to the music, gliding around the other pairs with practiced ease. “I know my way around.”
Luka hummed thoughtfully. He waited a few beats before asking: “How well do you know Lila?”
Felix makes a misstep; his foot squashes Luka’s toes.
“Ow!”
“Sorry,” Felix says, a little distracted. He composes himself, eyes hardening back to their usual reservation. “She’s the protégé of my uncle, Gabriel. We’ve met maybe once or twice. Why do you ask?”
“No reason,” he replied smoothly, slowly getting a bearing for this dance. Dancing had a rhythm of its own, Luka just found it harder to pick up on. “I just… like her vibe, is all.”
Lila had the vibe of a discount Regina George, actually. But Felix didn’t need to know that.
The blond raises an eyebrow. “Which I suppose translates to ‘I like her romantically?’”
Sure. Let’s go with that.
“Maybe,” Luka tried to play coy, swerving around another couple. Felix caught eyes with someone behind his shoulder and his expression went unreadable. Luka turns around but finds no one of particular interest hidden amongst the crowd. He looks back to Felix, who took back the lead in their waltz.
“Well I’d be happy to introduce you two if you wished.”
Don’t think I’ll be sticking around for long enough for that.
“I’d like that.” The corner of Luka’s mouth twitches upwards, revealing a grin.
Olive eyes sharpen and Luka feels a flash of heat as Felix seems to look straight into him- looking into his strengths, motives, desires, weak points. Luka withstands the intensity of his gaze for a few moments longer before he the blond finally pulls away; Luka finds that he has been deposited at the edge of the dance floor.
“I’m afraid I’ll have to do so at another time though,” Felix says, and now he’s looking away from him instead, eyeing the doors like he’s looking for the best route of escape. The melody of the boy’s heart changed so quickly, Luka had a hard time keeping up with it. “Right now I have some important matters to attend. Au revoir, M. Couffaine. Passez une bonne soirée.”
Luka doesn’t get the chance to reply before he’s rushing off, taking the sharp scent of mint and cologne with him.

spare revenge romance recs?
Aaaabsolutely!
Try:
A Rose at Midnight by Anne Stuart. Dark historical romance. The heroine literally tries to poison the hero to death within the first couple of chapters. They knew each other when she was a teenager and she had a crush on him and her dad wanted him to marry her and take her out of France before the Revolution began, but he was like "nah I hate myself too much" and as a result she had to stay and suffer GREATLY while her family was annihilated! The beef is REAL! Super intense, super dramatic, check your triggers because a lot happens here (SA, dubcon (with the hero), general Terror stuff). It's beautifully written and I loved it and I found the romance so moving in the end. But it's rough!
Mafia Madman by Mila Finelli. Obviously mafia romance. Obviously I adore it. Enzo kidnaps Gia and puts her in a cage on his yacht because her brother-in-law tortured him for a month four years ago (and that was kinda revenge too, Enzo and Fausto are mafioso real housewives) as REVENGE but he doesn't realize that Gia can give as good as she gets!!! Mind games, hot sex, ridic drama, SO GOOD.
No Good Duke Goes Unpunished by Sarah MacLean. The heroine fakes her death before being forced to marry the hero's father; the hero is accidentally framed for her murder, avoids jail but has a ruined rep. Years later, he finds her alive and is like OH. FUCK. NO. A Rogue by Any Other Name is also a revenge book, but the hero is using the heroine as he tries to get revenge against someone who isn't related to her.
What I Did for a Duke by Julie Anne Long. Alex tries to seduce and ruin Genevieve as revenge against her brother, who slept with Alex's fiancee. Genevieve figures this out pretty quickly, though, and begins using Alex to try to get the attention of the man she wants.
Beyond Scandal and Desire by Lorraine Heath. Mick Trewlove is a duke's illegitimate son and resents his legitimate brother, so he sets out for revenge, which includes seducing and ruining his brother's fiancee. Sadly, he does in fact.... like her a lot.
The Prince of Broadway by Joanna Shupe. Florence is a rich man's daughter who wants to open a casino for women and asks Clay Madden, casino owner, to mentor her. He agrees, while plotting to use her for revenge against her father.
The Winter King by C.L. Wilson. The hero conquers the heroine's kingdom as revenge for her brother killing his family; as part of a truce, she's forced to marry him, but her father in turn wants counter-revenge, it's just a lot of revenge and it's great.
The Art of Scandal by Regina Black. The heroine is a politician's wife who agrees to stay with her husband for a limited amount of time after she finds out he was cheating. She does, however, get mad and fuck the hot young guy's been flirting with in revenge. Only to find out that the guy is her frenemy's son.
King's Captive by Amber Bardan. The hero kills the heroine's father on her birthday, and then keeps her as his captive on a private island for like... three years? Lol. Now she wants to escape/get revenge, but there is a looot happening.
The Ranger by Monica McCarty. The hero is a spy for Robert the Bruce on this lord's property, and I believe the lord guy struck out against the hero's family...? Or vice versa lol. But anyway, while secretly installed on this property, the hero falls for the lord guy's daughter without her knowing who he really is and it's very ILLICIT AFFAIRS.
The Madness of Viscount Atherbourne by Elisa Braden. The heroine's brother shot the hero's brother in a duel, and the hero tricks the heroine into getting caught in a vERY compromising position with him, basically forcing her into marriage.
Again the Magic by Lisa Kleypas. CLASSIC. McKenna and Aline are separated by her upper class father, McKenna is led to believe it was her idea, and he returns years later for REVENGE!!!

What characters do you headcanon as lesbians? Not just for Encanto, but all your fandoms!
I'm glad you asked me, friend!
Hmm...let's see...there's Isabela and Luisa in this fandom, we all know that already.
But besides them, my favorite lesbian headcanon would have to be Ty Lee from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Each of her interactions with boys just screams comphet, especially the nameless bums on the beach! And she has much better chemistry with Azula and Mai, and--look, regardless of what you think of either the Tyzula or Mailee ship(I am okay with both), you gotta admit that Ty Lee having feelings for either of the two ladies is infinitely more believable than her having feelings for a boy. Especially since she reminds me very strongly of myself: we are both bubbly, girly, pink-loving, and friendly with people we are close to, and often dismissed and not taken seriously, yet tougher and cleverer than we look. Her interactions with both genders reminds me of my own struggle with comphet and grapple to come to terms with my lesbian identity, it all reads as incredibly lesbian to me, to the point where I feel uncomfortable(if not personally attacked) when I see her in m/f ships. And with how widespread femme erasure is, Ty Lee being a proud femme lesbian would be awesome rep to have! but the show's over so 😥 but oh well, I can still have it as a hc, it gives me comfort all the same!
From the same fandom is Azula. For much of the same reasons as Ty Lee, except her comphet would be even stronger. but once she gets over it and undergoes a redemption arc I can see her and Ty Lee being an incredibly loving power couple together lol.
Anyway, I also hc Misa Amane as a lesbian, a hc which is only strengthened by this post.
I also hc Sonia Nevermind and Chiaki Nanami from Danganronpa as lesbians bc I ship them and they're way too pretty and femme to get with boys hahahahhahahha~!
Also, Queen Elsa, obvi!
Also from Disney, Charlotte la Bouff definitely had a thing for Tiana and only thought she wanted the prince because it's a "required" part of the fairytale dream and I will not be convinced otherwise. In the sequel it will turn out that Naveen has a pretty sister or female cousin whom Charlotte will marry so that she and Tiana can be sisters/cousins-in-law and both have their princess dreams!!!
And for live-action movies there's Regina George from Mean Girls(this one doesn't even need explaining, it's literally the same as miss pyromaniac princess above but without the abusive dad lol), Jennifer Check from Jennifer's Body.
All the Vocaloid girls minus a select few are lesbians because I say so.
Also from the mha fandom: Mina/Jirou/Tsuyu are a poly lesbian couple, perhaps a qpr since Mina is canonically cupioromantic and I'd hate to take that away from her.
And finally, Annabeth Chase.
I think that's it for now, I def have more that I can't remember bc it's too much to add here lol. Maybe I'll put them in another post for my lesbian/sapphic ships in general.
Anyway thanks for asking because I love to ramble about my lesbian ships/hcs/stories and ideas! Take care!

y'all this graphic novel is so cute!! it's queer (specifically, Sapphic), nerdy, and got me in my feels
Hawkins, the high school mascot, has a big crush on Regina, the head cheerleader. She asks her out, thinking that Gina is single, only to find out that she's back on with her longtime girlfriend, Chloe (swoony butch and soccer jock). Chloe makes sure that Hawkins knows Gina is off limits in a very aggressive, not nice way. Mortified, Hawkins apologizes and slinks off. But just when she thinks she's in the clear, Regina finds her and skillfully manipulates Hawkins into tutoring Chloe... for free (in exchange for friend hangouts with Gina). It's awkward af but Hawkins persists, determined to help Chloe bring up her grades and bond with Regina. As she gets closer to the school's power couple, she begins to see that it's not all sunshine and roses, and that maybe Gina's future plans for them aren't so perfect after all.
At first I was like "yikes" with the way Chloe and Gina were treating Hawkins, but please stick with the story because it gets so much better! And all the things that I was worried about got resolved throughout the story. I had no idea how things would turn out but I was very happy with the ending! There are so many joyful, queer moments that had me smiling so big while reading. This queer romcom covers so many issues without being heavy handed or unrealistic. I also liked that there's a lot of diverse rep: Regina is from Brazil, Chloe is Japanese, and Hawkins is Jewish.

° Василий Артемович Бугаев (Vasily Artemovich Bugayev).
Pretty sure most of you have done this at some point. May as well tag a few people to post (or reblog) theirs. Rules are simple: Describe your OC in the words of an NPC (or NPCs). Feature as many NPCs as you want. Then tag at least as many people.
tagging: @pinkydude @elvenbeard @imaginarycyberpunk2023 @chevvy-yates @katsigian @miss--river @wanderingaldecaldo @kittenchrissy @noirapocalypto @jaymber @dreamskug (...and YOU. :-))
Fixers' Notes:
Padre: Creative. Charming. True to his principles even when it’s neither convenient nor practical. It disqualifies him from certain types of work, but I respect it. It does help he’s very transparent in negotiating his boundaries and very competent at what he does. Wakako Okada: V is very picky about his contracts and, I am keenly aware, a potential liability in case a job turns too unsavoury for his liking. He’s over-familiar and if he weren’t so charming I’d say he’s downright insolent. But he is also one of the best hackers this side of the city. And he understands the ecosystem and his place in it, even if his language and manners occasionally suggest otherwise.
Regina Jones: V is...a little sheltered if you ask me. He hates to get his hands bloody and I think it has little to do with moral considerations and everything to do with his personal distaste for violence. But I’m not complaining. V is good enough at navigating the streets – and his job – without having to sacrifice principles for efficiency or vice versa. After a couple of years in Night City, he has a solid track record and a bodycount of zero. All things considered – that’s pretty damn impressive.
Mr. Hands: I don’t particularly care for his work philosophy - or his attitude.
Dino Dinovic: He’s a good kid. Wicked smart. Loves to clown around but knows when not to. He’s choosier than most mercs I know. Given how many gigs he straight up refuses, it might be more economical to lose his number and hire cheaper mercs with fewer scruples. Profesionally, he clicks better with the likes of Regina or Dakota. But I enjoy his style. Muamar Reyes: I don’t have a strong opinion one way or the other, we don’t work together that often. But my experience so far mostly lines up with the rep he has. He’s a cheeky smartass, he won’t do wetwork, and worst of all, he mixes up work with politics - but his skills make up for it. Some gigs need a gentler touch and a stealthier approach and he’s good at that sort of thing.
Dakota Smith: Some mercs are worth building a good relationship with and V is one of them. He’s competent, reliable and honest – and he’s in it for the people. He is young and has much to learn, but he learns fast.
Rogue Amendiares: V is a talented kid with a good work ethic. Shame how things turned out for him but he seems to be doing fine, considering. Shows remarkable resilience. One of his best assets is the other Bugayev, though. They may not often work as a unit but they network as one and they do keep each other updated, make no mistake about that. It pays to keep it in mind. And it’s also why you don’t get to mess with V just because he is so improbably, stupidly nice. V gets to be nice in part because the other guy is anything but.

How many talent agencies is she gonna run through before Hollywood learns she's got no talent or likeability and can't make her happen. In the wise words of Regina George: "Gretchen, stop trying to make 'fetch' happen. It's not going to happen!" 😂
That agency reps Serena Williams too btw

a guilty pleasure outfit?
I really hate confessing this.
It was actually dreary out today and I did quite a bit of work sorting things out, putting orders in, and getting packages off to where they were supposed to go. I didn’t have to clean because the boys took some initiative but I welcomed a few of the alumni through the house, I made sure that things were just as they should be, and I had a hell of a time taking notes and making sure that no one felt as if they were getting left behind. I was offered a full time job today and I have to think about it but I purposefully avoided sitting down and making a pros/cons list today; I had too much to do and I didn’t want to waste time agonising over life.
Every aspect of this look.
Tumblr media
I found this makeup look on Pinterest, whipped out my Too Faced makeup, got out my Neutral Eyes Palette, got out my Makeup by Mario gloss, put on one of my favourite YouTube tutorials, and proceeded to copy it but wore my T&Co. Pendant instead of my pearls. There was no way in hell that I was going to get ready and go out today and so I decided to revert back to the Rule of Two and make it work from there; I did my makeup, put on a pretty decent outfit, and faced the guests when I needed to and went out with my head held high and my hair in rollers. I cheated on my sister in law again and combined my Airstrait and Airwrap, used my Bombshell Volumiser, pinned my curls up, sprayed them with my hairspray, and only took my hair pins down when I absolutely needed to look normal.
Juicy Couture’s Classic Diamanté Hoodie in Cherry Blossom.
Tumblr media
My sister bought this tracksuit for me as a joke and so we could match and I, unfortunately, wear it all the time because it’s extremely comfortable and I enjoy entering my unhinged 2000s era once in a blue moon. I call this set my Britney set because it’s light pink, it looks and feels as if it’s aged perfectly, and God knows I love some Britney but the Yakker calls it my Regina George’s Mom outfit because I’m most often seen in this tracksuit when I’m extremely stressed, under a lot of pressure, or just unwell. I love this hoodie, the little rhinestones have stayed on perfectly, it’s comfortable and so soft, and it’s one of the few guilty pleasure clothing items I hide at the back of my closet for rainy days and days where I just don’t feel like dressing up.
Skims ‘Soft Lounge’ Lace Tank Top in White.
Tumblr media
The colour I have is technically called Marble but if it looks like a white lace camisole, it’s a white lace camisole. I love Skims but there’s really nothing too special about this camisole; I own similar tops from H&M and Brandy and I can say that the only difference is the material and the fact that it’s nearly impossible to stain. I have about seven of these tops and I decided to wear one today because it’s simple, it’s bright white, it’s easy to keep clean, it doesn’t show too much of my chest, and it didn’t make me feel as if I was dying from the heat or fighting my demons out in the freezing rain.
Juicy Couture’s Classic Diamanté Bottoms in Cherry Blossom.
Tumblr media
I am, rather sadly, what you would call short and so these track bottoms barely work for me. I’m not a major fan of joggers at all and I much prefer flares when it comes to loungewear pants so these pants work for me. I had to rework the pants to get them to suit my height as they’d be best suited for someone around 5’6 or 5’7 and I’m not that height at all, the waistband is nice and strong, the pants are nice and loose in the thighs, and the pants are amazing for just kicking around and getting errands and chores done. These are the track pants with ‘Juicy’ in rhinestones across the ass and they are one of my favourite things.
Chanel ‘Triple C’ Lowtop Sneakers in Bright White.
Tumblr media
I was in such a tired state today that I put these on and only took them off when it was time to sit down. I wore my reps instead of my auths because I did a lot of walking but they look and feel the same, I love the fact that they’re not too low but they’re not too high either, and I think they’re a great sneaker either way. These sneakers true to size and so I own a women’s size 5 in the authentics and the replicas; the reps are just a smidge bigger in the toe box but I like the feeling and everything works out at the end of the day and I like the fact that there’s consistency between the real and the fenced. I own these sneakers in multiple colour ways and have bought them authentic and replicated so I think they’re worth the money but, be warned, you can find good quality secondhand authentics for $200.
Clean & Crisp French Tips.
Tumblr media
I have been too busy to change my nails every day and I love having a set on that matches whatever I’m wearing so French Tips, Soft Frenches, or Neutrals have been the move as of late. I don’t like to do too much when I’m travelling because my nails need to match my outfits and be pretty conservative because I’m interacting with so many people and can’t really afford to look out of place. I do a light pink base, clean white tips, and keep the shape of my nails natural and short. It’s not really hard for me to do French tips, I have a great white polish in a liner bottle that I bring with me, I moisturise and exfoliate, and I do my very very best to make my fingers and toes look super fresh.
Victoria’s Secret ‘Bombshell’ Eau de Parfum.
Tumblr media
Whenever I don’t know what to do with myself and I don’t want my perfume to be too expensive or too nighttime lover, I wear Bombshell. I’ve been wearing Bombshell since high school, I love the process and usually start off with my Bombshell Body Wash, move on to the lotion after I’m done with my usual deep moisturising lotion, and then spray on enough Eau de Parfum to fill the room. This perfume lasts on all day on my skin and my clothes, I can never get enough of it, it’s a classic and it never gets old, I love the notes of purple passion fruit, Shangri-La peony, and vanilla orchid, and it’s so convenient for me to find in stores.
And that’s all there is to it.

Katy Perry wasn't wrong, Taylor really can be very Regina George-esque towards other women she is upset with, and even Taylor herself has implied in post-Rep Era songs that she's said cruel enough things to Karlie of all people that Karlie's considered leaving her over it, so it's not hard to imagine that Taylor might've said even worse things to people she cares about less than Karlie when she's upset.
So it's not too hard for me to imagine Taylor wrongly lashing out at somebody that embodies one of her worst fears (being replaced as an artist by a younger girl with the same kind of talents as her) even though that person was a teenager who idolizes her.
Taylor's grown a lot in maturity over the last ten years, but she's still not exactly what I would call the most mature acting 30-something year old, so that also makes it not too hard for me to imagine that Taylor could've fucked up and lashed out at a kid she was mentoring.
Also Taylor has always acted like she's never forgiven or forgotten a single slight, perceived or actual, against her in her life, so that's why I am kind of worried that Taylor might do something a least a little bit asshole-ish out of spite in the first place because in the past Taylor has over-reacted to perceived slights against her that were pretty innocuous sounding and only vaguely sounded like it was maybe about her.
Taylor's gotten a lot better at only directing her crueler behaviors towards people that truly deserve it like Scooter, but she's human and humans make mistakes and hurt people who don't deserve it.
I love and respect Taylor a lot but I'm not blind to her flaws, so I just hope that someone reminds her not to say mean things to people who doesn't deserve it that she'll regret alongside all the other cruel things she has said to people who don't derserve it that she has a lot of regrets about saying. It's good to have a reminder for people like us who have sharp tongues that cut people who don't necessarily deserve it when we're angry even if/when it hasn't happened in awhile
i myself have never seen evidence that taylor is ever regina george-like to other women.
taylor sings about hurting people she loves and lashing out, and i imagine she does that to the same extent as the rest of us (tbh i bet it's less than average with her). i do not believe she is a mean girl. and i believe that if honest misunderstandings occur, she seems to have the self-awareness to be able to reflect on it and communicate and resolve things. call me naive if you want to, but i have a very strong reason (re: all of history) to believe that any stories we've ever heard about taylor being "a bitch" have been fabricated by people who are struggling with their own demons, including misogyny, and/or are looking to make a profit "selling headlines." because there's nothing people love to watch more than a successful beloved woman falling from grace, especially from such a high peak.
no, i do not know her personally, but i like the rest of the world have been blown away by her kindness and professionalism and maturity. i think if there's one person on earth least likely to qualify as an "asshole," it's taylor alison swift. so i guess we have two different versions of a person in our minds, and that's okay.

ML Reboot: Miraculous: Heroes of Miracles: Chloé Bourgeois
-Chloe’s personality is going to get a bit of a shift in the reboot.
-So Chloe is a bit more Regina George, Heather Chandler, Azula, mixed in.
-Chloe has a vernier of faux nice in this version. She has a smile and she has influence.
-Going to school mainly as a stunt for her father to seem more likeable. Chloé grew up with the thought that appearances are everything, and everyone is exploitable.
-Chloe basically conquered the school with her family’s influence and getting the right people to be her underlings.
-Chloe ‘Discovered’ Marinette when they were younger. Marinette was a nobody in her eyes, but she was incredibly creative. Something Chloe knew she lacked herself.
-Marinette became Chloé’s Favorite for a while. Sabrina was Marinette’s best friend at the time and tagged along. Chloe tolerated Sabrina, since she was a pushover and listened like Marinette.
-It was about 2 years before Origins that Marinette realized that Chloe didn’t really see her as a friend. Chloe used the word, but it was always a one sided friendship. Marinette tried to talk with Chloé, but the blonde refused to listen. She did try bribing her with gifts like usual but Marinette realized it was a dead end.
-Marinette gave Chloe everything she had given her back. Wanting to start fresh, be actual friends. To Chloe, this was the equivalent of a bitch slap. And that is when Chloe did Everything she could to make Marinette crawl back and beg for forgiveness.
-Chloe turned the entire class against her, even took Sabrina, who was swayed by the gifts and attention. Marinette was isolated.
-Chloe made it her mission to make Marinette’s life hell. But Marinette would beg for forgiveness or transfer schools.
-When Origins happened, Chloe tried to have more of her posse in the same class, but only was able to get Sabrina. Fortunately most of the class knew Chloé’s rep and decided to try and stay out of her way. She’s nice when not mad at you.
-Alya showing up shook things up. Alya becoming the Second person to reject her “Friendship”. But unlike Marinette, Alya did it publicly and practically declared war.
-Adrien joining the school and becoming friends with Marinette infuriated her. Adrien was rich and should have been exploitable, a perfect boyfriend for appearances. But nope. Marinette ruined another potential useful person for her.
-Chloé knows that Marinette is capable, and genuine. People eat that up. That’s why Chloe wanted Marinette as her underling, makes her more likable and a future designer could be useful.
-In season 1 and 2, Chloe’s clashes were mainly with Alya. As Alya was the one openly going against her. But it’s usually Marinette helping Alya, that helps Alya beat Chloé (usually by pointing out something Chloe does, or coming up with a creative solution to beat a Chloé tactic). Leading to Alya being Class rep.
-In season 3, Marinette decides to be bolder and openly calls out Chloe, which with her having helped the class and people in school, made her more beloved than Chloe.
-Chloe does attain the bee miraculous and become queen bee. Like in canon it was not intended for her. But she found it and used it to become a hero.
-Chloé was a fan of ladybug and realized the opportunity this was. Having a hero on her side would really up the influence. But she needed to shine.
-Queen bee often ended up clashing with Rena Rouge. As Queen bee would often sabotage her to try and make herself look better.
-Queen bee eventually is exposed to the hero group to be Chloe and Ladybug requests her miraculous back after an event that almost had Paris doomed because of her ego.
-Chloe decides to quit their hero team and ends up recruited by Masqué. Where she finds out her Mother was part of the group.
-In the season 3 finale, Queen bee is the new Enforcer of Masqué.
-The head of Masqué saw Lila/agent Volpina open the cell for Kagami and requested Lila be brought in.
-Queen bee vs Agent Volpina.
-Despite the advantages of a miraculous, Chloé lost and Lila took the miraculous. (Chloe has no idea it was Lila)
-Embarrassed, she fled with her mother. The bourgeois family managed to avoid being affiliated with Masqué thanks to connects and corruption.
-Season 4 Chloé is more vicious. Her “nice” facade is gone, and most of her group have disassociated from her. Even if she wasn’t found guilty, public opinion is hard to recover. Sabrina was one of the few that didn’t break away. But the dynamic has Sabrina a lot more rude to Chloé.
-Sabrina does eventually end the friendship near the end of season 4 and was the last person Chloé had any influence on in the school.
-Chloé ends up recruited by Zodiac, and ends up as one of their Miraculous users. Getting the Horse, She became Mane Queen
-She eventually has to give back the miraculous, and shortly after Zodiac fell.
-The Bourgeois family couldn’t avoid getting caught in a scandal after some new evidence was found (courtesy of Tomoe) and they fled Paris while the reporters were tearing into the new information.
-Season 5, Chloé returned most of the family fortune gone. Chloé was half crazy and wanted revenge. She knew who ladybug and chat noir were. And the malicious force in Paris recognized her.
Funfacts
-Unlike canon Chloé, Chloe starts out well liked early on but her influence starts crumbling as seasons pass.
-Chloe is actually a good student, though she still has others do her homework, since she can’t be bothered.
-Chloé rarely gets in trouble because of the pull her father has in the school. Ms Bustier is the first teacher to send her to the principal’s office.
-Chloé is the least skilled miraculous user, as she lacks training and experience. She makes up for it with tactics.
-Lila was technically Chloé’s friend for season 2 and most of season 3. Making her the only one of the main cast to be friends with Chloé on screen the longest.
-Before finding out Lila was Bella Bee, Chloé assumed the bee heroine was Marinette as it would be the one way for ladybug to spite her.
-Chloé’s favorite drink is Carrot juice with Honey.
-According to Alya, The bourgeois family was the 3rd richest family in Paris. Second to the Tsurugi and Agreste families.
-Chloe knew Adrien and Felix as kids, but Adrien never considered her a friend. Chloé didn’t until he became a model, then claimed they were friends.
-Chloé often wears gloves as she hates dirt.

Hi!
Sorry to bother you. I love your content and I saw you also were posting about Mean Girls (2024). I love that movie. I also love the idea of Reneè as Mia.
I also love Auli’i from the same movie. I think she really brought a new angle to Janis and I thought that was really cool. (Also, Pasifika rep is always important to me).
Bringing them up because I saw your blog has some Regina x Janis posts. You don’t have to answer: do you have a favorite song from the musical (can be movie or Broadway)?
Sorry again to bother and if this is mean/weird. Have a good day/night!
never ever a bother to talk about mean girls or renee dont u worry
i do have a fave song from the musical, though its different for each, for the bway version it's Stop, and im so so sad it didnt make the movie (jaquel wouldve killed it). though erika's rendition of stupid with love is a close second mostly just for the calculust part.
as for movie my favourite song, and scene, is Someone gets hurt! love love love. (apex predator by auli'i and jaquel is my close second. and obviously also world burn)
