Renga oneshot

Heliophilia: love of the sun

Summary: renga snuggles, autistic Langa, they’re trying their best at communicating but its a process and Reki is bad at feelings yet again

Word count: 1566

Warnings: Joe jokes about sex but nothing actually happens -reminder they're minors- brief references to Adam assaulting Langa, Langa has an autistic meltdown/overstims (writer is autistic) I wrote these like 6 months apart with a fever so it may be incoherent at points.

“Remind me again why you’re on my counter using up the entire first aid kit again?” Joe sighs.

I wince as he pats my scraped knee, now carefully disinfected and wrapped with gauze. “You could spare me at least a little sympathy-“ I say as I fidget with the fresh bandaids on my fingers.

“Kid- how did you manage to get this hurt when you weren’t even at S? You guys should be in school right now anyways.“

“I got uh- distracted on the way home. Langa and I skipped our last 2 classes again, sorry…”

“Distracted? Do I wanna hear this or do you just want me to buy you kids some stuff?” He chuckles, crossing his arms and leaning back on the counter beside me.

I shudder in embarrassment “shaddap- I’m fine. Langas just….. LANGA-“ … I’m really not making the best case for myself here, huh?

“Ok ok, seriously though Reki, if you need anything just ask. You kids are stupid as hell and you’re young and bound to make dumb mistakes so I at least want you to be safe okay?”

“IT WASNT LIKE THAT DUDE! I just you know…. He doesn’t really do PDA and you know how he is- he never talks-“ I look up at Joe pitifully only to be startled by the eye contact and return my gaze to my hands.

“I want to be more like a real couple- like you and Cherry- I just- I know Adam like got all up in his face and was hella creepy and he told me he like- touched him and made him super uncomfortable-and the LAST thing I want to do is remind him of that or hurt or scare him…” curse my eyes for daring to tear up.

“Hey, I get how you feel. Kaoru’s pretty much the same, he’d throw Carla in the blender before he’d admit he’s having a human emotion.”

“That bad?”

“Oh yeah- trust me. Honestly you just need to talk stuff out with Langa about boundaries and communication. He’s the type that you need to ask directly if you want him to tell you something right? You need to talk to him like an adult okay?”

“Aaaarrghhhhh adultings so haaaarrdd” I slump off the counter to my feet. “do I have to” I say, pouting.

“Yes now shoo so I can prep for the dinner rush ya dork”Joe laughs ushering me out of the kitchen through the bar door.

I guess I’m going to Langa’s place then-

~Reki pressed his face into my shoulder as I smoothed my hands over his back, my own back resting on my bed. His sweater was worn and pilled, allowing me to occupy my hands with plucking each pill from the softened cloth as the sound of kitten-like breaths from him filled my ears. I was near a sleep-like state when I heard unintelligible mumbling from Reki, alerting me that he had stirred.

“Hey sunshine” I chuckled as he perked up to look at me head on, giving me the opportunity to lose myself in his crisp golden eyes, contrasting with the blue LEDs he'd helped me install in my room just a few weeks ago.

“Hey” Reki laughed earnestly as he rolled to lay on top of me fully. “Can I kiss you?” He chimed in again as I nodded, not missing a beat. “Like, KISS kiss you?” He’s so pretty when he gets flustered like this, his face is even redder than his hair. And I thought he couldn't get more lovely.

“Please?” I raise my neck to meet him halfway and wrap my arms around his shoulders and tuck my hands under his hood near the nape of his neck.

He's so warm-

This feels so nice, everything with Reki is amazing…

No, REKI is amazing.

He pulls himself closer to me as we kiss and I grow light headed. I'm always shocked that he tastes like raw sugarcane and honey, nearly too sweet but just enough to be intoxicating and addictive. I'm not quite sure where my hands have moved but his are heated enough to be felt through my shirt as he slides his palms up my chest.

“This is so perfect” I think to myself before he glides his fingers to the bottom hem of my shirt. My breath hitches and my lungs cease to function.

It's hot, not in the way everything was before, a bright warmth that filled my chest and melted my heart as if I'd become the happiest man alive instantaneously- no this was different, painful even. An excruciating heat that scalded my skin and burnt my flesh to ash. I couldn't move, speak, breath or even think, I just knew-

I don't like this anymore-

I could feel my heartbeat pounding in my head louder and louder drowning out any thoughts I could've had or sounds could've heard. My chest growing ever tenser and my arms shaking with my hands trapped in a tight fist, jagged chewed nails digging sharply into my palms as I repeatedly slam them to my chest and in the pillows below me trying to stop the suffocating sensations.

At some point Reki had gotten off of me and was frantically asking if I was okay. Everything he was saying was muffled, grainy and distant as if I were about to faint.

“Langa! Langa baby are you okay? Did I hurt you? I'm so sorry please just tell me what's wrong-”

It was hazy but I could recognize his worry and shakily put my hand in his and he stopped talking.

I don't want to be the reason he stopped his ramblings, I love his voice.

“Langa sweetie are you okay?” He spoke more slowly but the concern was clear and genuine.

I blinked as I slowly processed his words before nodding, reaching out after him when he retracted his hand, not knowing if I wanted to be touched.

“Do you want me to hold you? We don't have to stay here, I can leave or sit on the floor or something-” I cut him off by again grasping and squeezing his hand.

“St-stay please…. I- I don't like being alone, sorry-” I lean towards him, my gaze never leaving my own lap.

“Okay, whatever you want. Just say the word.” Rekis breath evened out knowing I was okay, I've never felt so loved in my life.

I tugged his hand under my chin so I could sniff his sweater, smelling like an over saturation of everything Reki, from him hardly doing laundry, to the slight saltiness of his sweat, to the “girls” deodorant he's so fond of using, smelling like berries and spice, nearly reminiscent of the christmas car scents my dad had used year round.

He had apparently started stroking my hair and delicately working out the small tangles that had formed. I must've fallen asleep after that because the next conscious thought was that the room was significantly more blue as the sunlight that was previously streaming through the curtains had vanished.

When I looked up I was again greeted with that beautiful golden brown. “Mornin sleepyhead” he giggled, my favorite sight.

“morning- “ I smiled as I nuzzled my cheek into his hand that was still resting under my chin.

“Baby I love you but my hands asleep, can I have that back now?” he continued laughing lightly.

I Grabbed his hand with both of mine “nope It's mine now” I huffed as he feigned defeat only to swing his other arm gently around me before going still.

“So uhh,” his mood shifted. “Do you want to talk about it? Like I totally get it if not but I just want to make sure I don't hurt you or make you uncomfortable or anything because I really love you and that's the last thing I-”

“Reki- It's okay. It's not your fault. I really love you too and I trust you more than anyone else it's not that, I just- It's a lot, You know? Like it's not that I don't want to like- do more physical stuff with you I just don't think I really can, it's just too much I guess, I don't really know.” I averted my eyes from his and pulled my hands away from him. “Sorry-”

“Please don't be sorry! I don't really understand but I want to make you happy. And it makes me really happy that you trust me so much and that you told me, I'd be crushed if I hurt you- That's really all I want from you Langa, honest. If even just normal kissing or anything makes makes you feel bad or scared, I don't mind waiting until you're ready even if that's in 20 years or even never, It's not why I love you and you deserve to be loved more than I can even offer!” Reki held out his hands for me to take.

“I-” my eyes watered ever so slightly at his words, “You're such a dork Reki” I smiled as I met his gorgeous eyes again before sliding back his headband and pecking his forehead. “I love you too”

Sk8 AU where Renga kisses Langa while he’s over at his house :3

Langa has been talking for hours, ranting about skating— or whatever mess that has spilled from his mind and slipped past his lips. And usually, Reki is attentive and taking in every single word (because how could you ignore anything coming from someone who looks like Langa does). This time, however, Reki cannot focus. The sunset is complimenting the cool blue of his hair in some ironic way while his eyes reflect the sky itself. Reki tries to act like he’s paying attention. He tries to act like he’s listening to a single word coming from those lips, but, oh.

Those lips.

A voice tells Reki he needs to do something. That he needs to act on whatever urge his body is pushing him to do. He can’t think. The redhead cannot think, nor can he breathe in this moment. He realizes he’s been holding his breath this whole time. Since when, he’s completely unsure, but it must’ve been forever considering how tight his chest was feeling in this very moment. He breathes in, inhaling the afternoon breeze seeping through the cracked window, along with Langa’s scent. What cologne did he use again? Or was it a body wash? These meaningless questions, an obvious cover, clouded his mind.

He takes in another sharp breath, manually having to breathe now.

Reki’s hand reaches over to lay on top of Langa’s hair. The boy stops speaking for a few seconds, locks eyes with Reki, and smiles. He continues his rant and Reki’s heart cannot help but skip a beat. A simple sign of affection, one he has shown in the past before, but this?

This is different.

Reki’s hand moves along his hair, lightly moving to just a few fingers as he places a strand of hair behind the other’s ear, mimicking the cheesy scenes he has seen in so many of the romances he had watched with Langa in the past. Reki can feel something, though unsure what, waking up inside of him. He can feel his chest getting tighter by the minute, and the hair on his arms standing up, as well as thoughts racing through his mind ten million times faster than they ever had before. This feeling scares him, but it’s there for a reason. Some reason Reki subconsciously knows about.

Langa’s lips move one last time, speaking some quiet something into the room. Reki’s eyes move back to Langa’s in a swift motion, wanting to take in every feature possible.

“Langa..?”

He stops speaking almost instantly. Which is odd because Reki spoke the name so quietly that you could barely hear it, but Langa did hear it. And for some strange, unknown reason, that makes the redhead’s heart flutter.

Now it’s silent between the two, and this suffocating, thickening tension floats around them both. As if it’s urging Reki to do something about it.

And Reki does.

It’s slow and, he could only imagine, agonizingly painful to watch from a third party perspective, but he doesn’t care. Because his eyes are closed, and the moment feels right. And he can’t back out now. Not after calling his name with such sickening sweetness.

Reki kisses him. Reki Kyan kisses Langa Hasegawa.

here i go with another grand list that i was very happy to write! i’m in love with these asks, really. i’ll mention all of them, but at first i was in doubt if i could include one that isn’t ‘canon’, but rather rpf. either way, i added bonus couples for good reasoning! let’s go.

1. wangxian (lan wangji x wei wuxian), from mo dao zu shi — they are THE moment, they are THE couple, they are THE goals. who ever could have imagined someone would come up and write a troublemaker who falls into demonic arts and gets reincarnated to fight together with a sucker-for-rules expressionless man and make it work? they fit into any au as well, this fandom rocks. my lovely cultivators!

2. kagehina (kageyama tobio x hinata shouyou), from haikyuu!! — i dont even play volleyball. i dont even like sports! why do i love this anime and this duo specifically so much? they are so passionate about their hobbies, the rivalry and frenemy relationship? the POTENTIAL. the STORY they have. the "someone better will come and find you" promise. sheer beauty. they are silly and fresh and cute and i dont think i'll ever get tired of it.

3. yizhan (wang yibo x xiao zhan), from the untamed cast rpf — i know all the problematics about writing real person fiction. i KNOW, okay?? but people, let me like them and support them in peace?? 😔 i have so much love for these men, and its overall hella fun following their life unfold, even if they are not working together anymore. nonetheless, they are my dose of serotonin when i need it.

4. daiharu (kambe daisuke x katou haru), from fugou keiji: balance unlimited — i will not scream for a seson 2 here. i will scream for more FICS of them here! there ain't enough! its not even about the 'sugar daddy' appeal, its more about the 'partners in (solving) crime' appeal. oh and also the 'i hate you you arrogant prick but i WILL do anything for you' part. everything and every detail of this show.... seriously though: gold.

5. hilson (gregory house x james wilson), from house m.d — oh, my sweet stupid and repressed doctors, i would do unspeakable things for you. wilson has been through every hard moment of house's life. you can name them, he's been there. through every ridiculous situation of his too. it is overwhelming, honestly. the ending couldn't have been more reasonable and fitting for them, in my opinion.

6. hannigram (hannibal lecter x will graham), from hannibal — this gif alone of them with scratches and smiling conspiratorily to each other sums up their entire dynamic. they're toxic and no one's doing it like them. like, yeah, no shit, who would even dare, right? murder husbands can do anything and eat the rude as much as they want, i will be sipping on my drink and watching intently. (man truly looked at this detective he framed for murder and said he would remember their moment together forever??? just dont throw him in jail then???)

7. shiguang (lu guang x cheng xiaoshi), from link click — these pretty boys traveling through time invented the concept of yearning, and i will not explain more to not give season 2 spoilers. i fell in love with them as soon as i saw the first shot of the anime. it doesnt help that they have the same dynamic as wangxian, too. cheng xiaoshi, my beloved, you would never do anything to harm anyone (not purposefully) and i (as well as lu guang) worship you 🙏

8. renga (hasegawa langa x kyan reki), from sk8: the infinity — let's be true tho, can they never do a sports anime without pulling up homosexuals?? not that im complaining at all. please continue, in fact. every couple in this story is valid (adam does not exist), and i love this spirited, young concept of redescovering the beauty of a hobbie. lovely, all of them, but most specially my langa and his admiration for reki. their dynamic has no complications, its just so sweet.

9. moshang (mobei jun x shang qinghua), from the scum villain self-saving system — i will not share a pic of moshang official art because i find shang qinghua appearence too much childlike and annoying, meanwhile i find him much more interesting in the book and fanarts. in any case, i love this couple more than the main couple simply because our airplane-bro can make everything so hilarious. there are fics of them out there which are peak entertainment (check this one!). mobei's tsundere attitude and shang qinghua's shamelessness are a great combo.

10. hualing (hua cheng x xie lian), from heaven official’s blessing — the longing is unbearable. hua cheng loves this man so much, for real. waiting 800 fucking years?? being his most devoted believer? can you believe the audacity?? my man, though he has low self-steem, does anything to protect his god. he doesnt care about any realm. he only cares for xie lian, his dear god. they are the cutest couple.

bonus: aziracrow, johnlock, tododeku, victuuri, blackbonnet, mafuyama, redblue (from this is how you lose the time war).

these are my favorite ships ever! they are what i scream about alternatively, and when i say so, i'm not joking. one week i'm freaking out over new link click content and in the other one i'm reviewing house m.d episodes. my life's a circle with my favorite ships in it and i ain't regretting anything.

The boys! I love Renga so much! I've gotcha covered, anon!

Say Yes: "You're so ticklish, aren't you?"

“Reki.” Langa walked up, face unreadable. “Can I try something?”

“Huh, yeah what-” That was the only thing the redhead got out before the space between him and Langa disappeared. A hand slapped overhead as Langa leaned into it, trapping his boyfriend against the wall.

Silence. Reki blinked. Langa also blinked.

“...Did I do that right?” The blue haired boy asked, earning a wide eyed grin from the other. “The wall-slap thing.”

“The what-PFFT!” Reki cackled, reaching up and lightly shoving the other. “Are you trying to Kabedon me?”

“That’s what it is? Joe said it was really attractive…” Langa blinked as Reki fell against him, shaking in his chest. “Did he trick me?”

“No! No, no- it’s-PFFT! It’s fine.” Reki stepped back, wiping mirthful tears away. “It’s just- you did it wrong. You’re supposed to use two hands.”

“Ah.” Langa nodded. “Okay.” He slapped a second hand up, boxing Reki in. “Is it working?”

“Just about…stay like that.” Reki raised his hands as if to help. “We just need one last thing…A smile!” He shot his hands into Langa’s pits, making the other spasm with a squeal. “Pfft-gehahhahaha! You’re so ticklish, aren’t you?”

“Reki!” Langa tried to glare, but the look melted away instantly as the redhead attacked his sides, making him squirm and squeal. “No! Nohohohoho, wahahhait, dohooohohohn’t!”

“Why not? It’s funny!” Reki hugged him, fingers still tickling as he worked them against Langa’s belly. “You’re so cute when you laugh! I could listen to it all day!”

“Huhuuhhuhuuhuhuhsh! Ghehahahaha, it’s not thahahhahaht cute! Ahehahahahahaha, Reki, plehehehhehehahhase!” Langa cried, cheeks bright red and eyes misting. “Stahahahhap it!”

“Heh, okay.” Reki grinned, stopping his tickles but keeping his arms around the other. “You are cute though.”

“Shuhhuhsh…you’re cuter.” Langa barely fought down a smile when he felt Reki squeeze him.

Maybe Joe was on to something.

BSD S5 EP 9

I have not finished the episode yet but I've just gotten to the Fukufuku backstory (specifically the part where they just met and its night and they're lying on the floor together) and, these two are fucking dark timeline Renga from sk8! 'The way of the sword is enjoyable!' and 'I'm going to master the sword alongside you' vs 'skating is fun!' and 'I want to skate with you infinitely' I swear Fukuchi even did the same hand movement that Reki did at some point. Energetic sunshine (at least at the moment) x calm and collected. I am getting such strong Renga vibes from that scene and it's driving me insane.

OK I JUST WATCHED TWO (2) SECONDS FURTHER AND NOW WE'RE IN A FUCKING SHOJO ANIME! BONES LOVES OLD MAN YAOI SO MUCH! THIS IS SO GAY! WHY ARE THERE SO MANY CHERRY BLOSSOMS!!? A CHERRY BLOSSOM PETAL IN THE SHAPE OF A HEART JUST FELL INTO FUKUZAWAS SAKE(?) AND THEN BROKE INTO TWO. THEY'RE NOT EVEN BEING SUBTLE WITH THE 'THIS (ROMANTIC) RELATIONSHIP IS ABOUT TO GO O SHIT' -NESS

DONT DO SYMBOLISM WITH THE FUCKING BIRDS YOU DUMB SHOW! I SEE WHAT YOU'RE FUCKING DOING! For context, they were having a conversation but the focus was on these two egrets? herons? anyways, and then one of them just flew off when Fukuchi said that he was gonna be promoted and sent to the battlefield , which is what separated these two. I'm going to die, I'm not entirely sure why but I am. /pos

Ok, old man yaoi backstory is over , and before I move on to the next thing I just wanna say, young Fukuzawa was so fucking cute! He was an old man even when he was a baby! he was adorable! and honestly so was Fukuchi! I'm very sad that he became the way he is now, war really does stuff to people, huh?

Ok I'm a little bit confused, I didn't realize that he had told that United Nations guy the half-truth. But whatever, that's on me I guess.

OK! JESUS FUCK THE MORE I HERE ABOUT THE WAR THE WORSE IT GETS. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE SOLDIERS HAD TO EAT EACHOTHER AND WERE SHOT FOR TRYING TO DESERT! MAYBE I SHOUD HAVE EXPECTED THAT IT IS WAR BUT JESUS CHRIST!

God, Fukufuku are so gay. I know that stabbing someone isn't exactly romantic but he Fukuzawa did the thing where you grab onto the other persons clothes and after Fukuchi stabbed him his head ended up resting on his chest. This is PEAK romantic tradgedy.

Teruko, I love you. She looks so pretty and she is so hecking smart and I just adore her. She let Atsushi go! Woohoo!! Also, Atsushi's hallucinations are really coming in full force, huh? He is seeing so many people.

Dazai and Sigma are so silly, I love them, Dazai stop flirting for two fucking seconds challenge. Also, it's fun to hear that Dazai is screwing around with Sigma while thinking of Kunikida! Truly every ship is being fed this season! Except sskk, but we did get Aku in Atsushi's hallucinations doing a thing so that's kinda a win for the gays!

Wow! What a nice elevator! I'm sure nothing bad will happen here!

Oh catgirl, you left us too soon.

I must say, I don't really have much to say on the Meursault section. It was good! The animation was great as it usually is for the Meursault sections, Sigma was so pretty I love him and! Dazai did the thing where he played with Sigma's hair! Woo! Fyodor was his usual level of kinda ugly in anime form, Dazai is showing emotions! more of the sillies, Dazai fucking stood on Sigma, which is delightful, aaaaaaand it's started to flood! Fuck!

Anyways, back to the very start of this episode before I was overcome by the homosexual-ness of Fukufuku, Aya Bram Kunikida and Tanizaki got yoinked! Fuck! I still have a theory that Tanizaki could be doing an illusion and I will make a post about it one day. And also, please excuse me for saying this because while I am still upset about Ranpo being hurt... watching Fukuchi pick him up by the scruff of his neck like a cat was kinda hilarious. Also, Teruko I love you. You're the only hunting dog that heard about Fukuchi's real identity and didn't immediately die. Girlboss fr. Also also, where are Lucy Kyouka and Yosano :D? W-where did they go? Asagiri please I need to see my girls.

And to once again revisit the old gays, Holy Shit that was so gay. Nobody told me that the Fukufuku backstory was a Sports Anime tm that turned into a war drama in the second season! I knew we said they were divorced but I never realized just how married they were before the separation! Wow! Fukuzawa smiled so softly at Fukuchi! They were such sweet kids! Aagh!

This was a good episode! I liked this! Excited for next Wungo Wednesday!

I love that ep 1 scene with the boys and Kaoru too! I agree that Kaoru was studying them like the nerd he is, but I also think he may have saw a bit of himself in Langa at that moment cause of what happened when he first met Adam.

Like he saw Langa's awed face and was thinking, "Yeah, I know that look, doesn't lead to anything but heartbreak."

That frame is one of my favourite shots. It belongs right in a “Sk8 No Context” video. In fact, that’s probably why it was included.

I see it as caution, and instead of seeing himself in Langa, he sees Adam*. There’s the “Blue Theory” that I’m yet to write out I full, only backed up by that after-credits scene with Kaoru/Kojiro in episode nine. And while what Kojiro and Kaoru say about the matter contradicts what I just said, perhaps Kaoru’s stance on Kojiro “overestimating Langa” wasn’t that to begin with.

*I can quite unfortunately see a whump fic somewhere about Reki breaking up with Langa, or something, and pushing him into becoming the “next Adam”, either alongside Adam himself or against Adam’s desires (now that he’s all “reformed” or whatever… spoiler alert: he really isn’t), though given the circumstances of such a fic being created I can imagine it’s alongside Adam. (Eve goes a bit crazy, for real.) It’s shipping. I don’t want to find out if such a fic exists unless the ship, if included at all, is depicted negatively and as a “grave mistake”, or something. So, I’m not looking.

I see it, with episode nine in correlation. Kaoru is studying Langa, and Reki, and seeing himself, Kojiro and Adam from when they were kids (with a few differences, of course). Reki in this situation is Kojiro and Kaoru, and Langa is Adam. Makes sense, right?

Well, there’s a few shifts that I think Kaoru has studied (as the “smart one” of the group, I’m sure) Langa and Reki as to assure his suspicions of the similarities, or a lack thereof.

In fact, when I’d first seen this ask a few days ago, I’d gotten the idea to make a Venn diagram of all the similarities I could remember without rewatching the show:

Incidentally, Langa’s exclusive qualities are also connected to Adam — but he’s not included here, for obvious reasons.

The immediate parallels in terms of “Renga vs. Matchablossom” would be Reki/Joe and Langa/Cherry. Though, outside of ship dynamics (I’d so badly wanted to put “bisexual” and “gay” in the diagram, but withheld my compulsions — though, I did allow myself the “Lovestruck Stare”, as that’s canon compliant enough, with Kojiro giving several to Cherry and Langa to Reki, breaking the “obvious parallels” immediately, giving Langa and Joe more leverage as counterparts over Langa and Cherry) the parallels, as I’d just mentioned in parentheses, are more complex.

TL;DR: I really need to write my Blue Theory out in full, but here is the “character parallels” in the main cast (which doesn’t play into the Adam/Langa parallels as much as the Blue Theory does, with some Cherry on the side, and maybe some Tadashi/Reki parallels to compare with how they nurtured their own foils with Adam/Langa respectively).

Renga Valentine's Day

Renga were the second winners in this poll and here is the date they had on Valentine's Day this year on our sims gameplay.

It was getting close to 7:30pm and Reki and Langa started to close Dope Sketch store.

An hour before...

Oka: Reki, Langa, I'll leave you here to close whenever you want 😉 I have a date. Reki: With a new woman? Oka: Don't be so nosy, Reki. Langa: If you don't mind, we'll close before 8pm. Reki and I will go see a movie.

Oka: And have you already chosen it? Langa: No. Oka: Then let me recommend one for you two. 😁 «Reki, that's what you get for being nosy» - thinking. Reki: WOW, a special recommendation from Oka. Okay, tell us what you have to offer us. 😏

Oka: "桜の木に吹く風" (The wind among Cherry blossoms), it's a nice friendship between two friends, also one of the main themes is skateboarding. 😁 Reki: Oka, you're a genius! Oka: You're welcome. 😁 Langa: You must really like it to be smiling like that. Oka: Sure... I went with some friends and we had a lot of fun. And there they did some spectacular tricks. Maybe they give you some ideas. 😁 Reki: Okay, so tomorrow we'll talk about the movie, Oka.

Oka: Of course 😁 «You're welcome Langa, I'm sure Reki will hold on to you tight 🙌» - thinking.

So following Oka's recommendation; about closing when they wanted to; they were going to close it at 19:30h. When the time came, they packed up, changed clothes, turned off the lights and closed Dope Sketch.

Langa: I can't wait to see that movie.

Reki: Yes, especially because during the year it's very unusual to see skateboarding premieres... Although it's weird that I'm not familiar with it...

Langa: Reki... Maybe some of the other main topics are not so much of your interest?

Reki: Maybe, although that sounds even better, it means I'll enjoy it even more!

Once they closed, headed towards the movie theater and saw that two premieres were announced on the billboard.

They went inside and looked to see in which room the movie was being shown.

Langa: Room 1.

Reki: This must be the movie Oka recommended.

Langa: Reki... The shadow that appears on this poster has red eyes... Doesn't it remind you of someone?

Reki: *a shiver ran through his whole body* ... No! He doesn't remind me of anyone... He doesn't have a longboard so...

Langa: So we're thinking of the same person.

Reki: Well then I hope the character doesn't remotely resemble "that person", because then the story is going to get boring. 💦

Langa: But at least it will have good tricks.

They went to get two tickets and Langa also bought popcorn. It was half price so was quite cheap. They entered the theater and sat down to wait for the movie to start.

Reki: Do you think movie will be good? I don't see many people sitting down.

Langa: Well, movie starts at 8:30 pm, there's still time, Reki. It will probably fill up with more people little by little.

Reki: By the way... Why did they put on the ticket that movie is rated for 16 years and over?

Langa: There might be street fights, don't you think that would be a good reason?

Reki: But if skateboard fights aren't so dangerous... Unless are on "S"...

Langa: But it can be if are street fights.

Reki: Well, we'll see. It looks like movie is about to start.

When the film starts, Reki sees something weird about it. Why were most of the shots taken at night? Well... Okay... He knew that most of time he skateboarded with Langa, it was at night, especially if they were on the streets in the car lane... But... Why did all the shots and soundtracks seem like they were made expressly to be scary? After a while Langa had eaten all popcorn without leaving any for Reki, he seemed to be very excited about the plot. On the other hand, Reki thought that Oka had put more "tricks" than he was actually seeing on stage.

Langa still thought that guy with red eyes reminded him of "that person" although seen from a different point of view and more now that he was half an hour into the movie.

Langa: Reki, the guy with red eyes looks sad and full of anger, are you sure now that ghost doesn't remind you of someone?

Reki: Gho... ghost?!

Langa: Yes, a 御霊 (goryoo), I think it's called that way. ⁽*¹⁾

⁽*¹⁾ 御霊 (goryoo) are vengeful Japanese ghosts from the aristocratic classes.

Reki was so deep in his thoughts thinking about everything Oka told him that didn't understand much of the plot...and begins to realize that the movie is not romantic at all but... SCARY!!!!

Reki: Langa, are we leaving now?

Langa: But... The story is very interesting...

Reki doesn't hear anything and runs out in panic, towards the exit of the room.

Langa is left alone, sitting down.

Langa: I'll have to buy the Blu-ray to watch the ending with mom, I'm sure she'll like it.

While outside the room it can be hear:

Reki: OKAAAAAAA!!!!

Reki runs to the washroom in a panic and Langa runs out of the room and into the washroom with him.

Reki: Oka I knew it, he knew it was scary!

Langa: But Reki, the story is interesting, and tricks even if they were few seemed good.

Reki: I'm sorry, Langa. You know how I'm with anything scary....

Langa: It's okay Reki, I'll buy the Blu-ray and watch it with mom.

Reki: Are they going to release Blu-ray of that?

Langa: I don't know, but they usually release Blu-rays of everything after a while.

Reki: You're right, hehe. Can I go in the bathroom for a minute and then we'll head to the Skatepark?

Langa: Sure. *spends some time* Reki...

Reki: Uh-huh?

Langa: I'll always be by your side when you're scared, so you can hold on to me tight... Like when in Miyakojima...

Reki: Thank you, Langa... Although you know that my fears are stronger than I'm... Shall we go to the Skatepark?

Reki and Langa arrive at the Skatepark and the former gets very close to the latter.

Reki: Langa, I know Valentine's Day is celebrated differently in Canada, but this is my gift for you.

And gives Langa a kiss on the cheek.

Langa: Reki... Do you want to try tricks from the movie? They seem pretty easy to perform, I don't think they put much thought into doing something new.

Reki: But... You know I haven't seen almost anything...

Langa: I'll show them to you!

Reki: Okay, I'll follow you!

[AN: The mod we use for the skateboards doesn't allow the switch between Regular and Goofy, so here both are shown as Regulars, imagine that Langa has his right leg in front. Next time surely we'll make special poses if skateboards are used]

They tried performing several of the tricks shown in the movie, in which Langa was right, Reki saw that they hadn't innovated much.

Reki: Langa

Langa: Reki

Reki: Shall we go there?

Langa: Yes.

Both of them vibrate their mobiles and start reading the notification they have received from "S". (Read here if you want to know what Reki and Langa are reading.)

Langa: Reki, are you reading it? I want to participate.

Reki: Okay, but as soon as you participate I will challenge you to a beef. I'll get to give you the chocolate to prove my love, and I'll defeat all the other Regulars that stand in my way! And for me it won't be allegorical.

Langa: I can't wait for the day!

Reki: By the way, ADAM is also participating, if you see you can challenge him.

Langa: Yes, I'm sure many will challenge him to a beef and he'll have as much fun as I.

Reki: You're right. Joe was left wanting last time... But come on, Langa, go ahead and register if you want to. So I can challenge you to a beef. I want to be one of the first who wants to give you a chocolate.

Langa: That's it, Reki. Be that as it may, I'll always enjoy your chocolate.

Reki: But this time I'll give it to you, and I'll defeat everyone who wants to stand in my way!

Langa: This time?

Reki: I'm just saying, Langa.

Reki may not have won the race, but seeing Adam face-plant into the mud was priceless. And even though he lost, the crowd is still… chanting his name? Cheering for him? Acknowledging he exists?

Him.

Not the redhead.

Not the one who isn’t Langa.

Reki.

It’s a first. And honestly, it feels pretty damn good.

At least it does until a hand grabs the neck of his hoodie and rudely yanks him out of the fetal position he’d curled up in.

(Or: I wanted a bit more from the ending of episode 11 and couldn’t find anything that scratched the itch so I tried to write it myself)

Growing up in Okinawa where you could get away with wearing shorts in the wintertime (you’d be cold but it was doable), cold temperatures weren’t exactly your thing.

However.

When your boyfriend, Langa, asked you and your other boyfriend, Reki, if you wanted to visit his hometown in Canada, you both jumped at the opportunity. It wasn't often you got to learn something new about him since he didn’t talk a whole lot. He wasn’t trying to keep anything, but he usually didn’t add more than what needed to be said. Most of what you knew about his life in Canada was from his mom. So, despite the new atmosphere, you both were ecstatic to go.

You woke up the morning after arriving to Reki shaking your shoulder. “(Y/N)—hey, sunshine, wake up!” he whispered, although he wasn’t exactly quiet.

You slowly sit up, detangling yourself from laying on Langa’s chest. “What?” you ask, rubbing your eyes. “What time is it? I’m tired…”

“It’s snowing.”

Your eyes went wide. Snow was something you saw in movies more than real life. But it was really there! It was really outside.

That certainly woke you up.

You threw off the blankets and ran to the window, Reki close behind. Sure enough, on the ground and falling from the sky was the fluffiest, was the most beautiful snow you’d ever seen. You slowly turned your head to look at Reki, and when the two of you made eye contact, no words were spoken. You read each other’s minds somehow, and pure dumbassery ensued.

Not much slower than he runs to the kitchen when Langa calls for dinner, the two of you ran out the front door, completely disregarding any need for jackets, gloves, or even shoes. reki would have forgotten to throw a shirt on if he didn’t see one on his way out the door. The moment your feet touched the snow, the two of you began kicking it up at each other and throwing it in the air. Two twenty-something year olds acting like children simply because of the weather, who knew?

It wasn’t long after you heard the door open again, and Langa was on the front porch, wrapped in a blanket and pout clear on his face. Reki smiled and waved at him with his free hand, the other one keeping you in the headlock he��d had you in previously. You managed to get free while he was distracted, shoving him off and pushing him over. He yelped in surprise and fell on his ass, having no time to fight back because you sat on his stomach.

“How’s that for not being able to kick your ass?” you teased.

He shot you a look—one that you did not trust—and soon realized what it was for. He started tickling you, using the chance to push you off and make you lay in the cold snow.

“L-Langa!” you laughed. “Come get—get your bo-boyfriend!” You writhed around, trying to stray away from Reki, but he had years of experience with tickle fights with his sisters. He knew how to win.

“I give, I give!” you said after a while, your stomach pain outweighing your want to fight. He stopped and helped your sit up, kissing your cheek in the process.

“Mornin’, Langa!” He waved him over.

Langa shook his head. “I am not walking in the snow barefoot. It’s cold.”

“You’ve got slippers on!” you pointed out.

He shook his head. “Guys, I love the snow as much as you do, but it's eight in the morning and it’s cold, can you please come in…?”

Langa was never much of a morning person—he could do basic functions (unlike Reki, who usually couldn’t stand mornings, but he’d slept the entire plane ride and then slept when you guys got to where you were staying, too), but he needed some caffeine before that pout disappeared.

Reki looked at you and smiled, grabbing a handful of snow and helping you up with the other one. You knew this was not going to end well, but it would be hilarious, so it was okay.

“Morning, sleepyhead,” you said when you got on the porch, ruffling Langa’s hair. You opened the door for the two of them, letting them step past and nodding at Reki when he walked by.

Langa sat on the couch, as did Reki, and only when he was sure the door was closed did he take off his blanket. At the same time, Reki shoved the snow down the back of his shirt. There was a moment of silence before a couple of colorful words rang around the living room, from both Reki and Langa. You wanted to yell for him to run, but Langa already had him pinned and was smacking him around with a pillow.

You (hoping to avoid Langa’s wrath for instigating it) walked into the kitchen and started getting things out for breakfast. However, when you were about to look for cereal, you heard an “it was (Y/N) idea!”

That lying asshole. He was so lucky you loved him.

It was quiet for a long moment, and you turned around to see Langa staring at you from the couch. Well, it was your turn to run. And so you did, back to the room, and closed the door. Not even a second later, Langa was knocking on it, saying something about how he’d get his revenge later. You laughed and yelled back that Reki was lying and it wasn’t your idea

Mornings with them were certainly never quiet, were they?

After that whole fiasco, the three of you decided to go out for breakfast, realizing there wasn’t much more than granola bars and leftover coffee. Langa was excited to show the two of you around his hometown, anyway, and the tour started with him and his mom’s favorite cafe from when he was younger. The owner recognized him when he said his name, and they chatted for a while about how he’d been. He introduced you and Reki to her—you found out her name was Melanie, and she and her wife ran the place together.

The four of you talked for a while before a little girl came over (presumably Melanie’s daughter, considering how she climbed into her lap). Langa smiled at her, looked at Melanie for some reason, who nodded, and said, “hi, funshine bear.”

Immediately, the kid’s eyes went wide and she jumped into Langa’s arms, squealing something about bedtime bear and a lot about how she missed him. Apparently, people still remembered him—that would make sense, considering he was apparently there all the time as a teenager.

Later, he explained he was probably twelve when Taylor (the little girl) was born, and had done some babysitting for Melanie when she was in a pinch. They watched a lot of Care Bears, and she’d been named Funshine Bear because of her sunny disposition. He was Bedtime Bear because his hair was blue. That was about as clever as a two year old could be, you guessed.

After breakfast (which was amazing, that cafe served really good food), the three of you headed to the local outdoor ice skating rink. Why Langa decided that was a good idea, you’d never know, but you could hardly skate because you were too busy laughing at Reki falling on his ass. He’d get frustrated, get back up, and then fall down again the moment he let go off of the wall. The two of you ended up clinging to each other, one of you against the wall at all times, until Langa skated away and came back with hot cocoa. And it was the best cocoa you’d ever tasted. He mentioned something about how he tried to make the marshmallows look like hearts in oth of yours, but they moved as he walked over.

You were a little disappointed you didn’t get to see Langa snowboard during the afternoon, knowing how much he used to enjoy it, but the day was well worth it when you went out for dinner and Reki spent the entire walk trying to catch a snowflake in his mouth. You and Langa took videos, nudged him around, and laughed a little when he walked flat into a mailbox.

Dinner was fun—at some point, Reki’s mom called to check in on the three of you, but you promised to call back later since you were out. Koyomi, Chihiro and Nanaka insisted on saying hi before you could hang up. They yelled something about how it wasn’t fair Reki got to see snow before them and he made a face (which they couldn’t see, of course) before Masae stepped in to shut the four of them down. Even as an adult he bickered with his siblings non-stop. It was cute, though, because you could tell it was in a loving way.

The three of you returned home (or what would be, for a couple days) after dinner, deciding it would be a good night to have a peaceful night in since Reki was so sore from falling so many times. A nice, peaceful night with a movie and maybe some snacks.

That was, until Reki shoved snow down Langa’s back again.

So much for a peaceful night.

Least Favorite character: It's Adam, but I do think he's fun as a villain.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Reki/Langa, Joe/Cherry, Shadow and that woman he was crushing on, Nanako/Oliver 😭, and Oka/Tadashi

Character I find most attractive: It would be expected of me to say JOE, and he is attractive, but I gotta give this spot to Nanako. In fact, also to Masae. Beautiful, caring women.

Character I would marry: I'd be down to marry... hmm... I'd marry Nanako in a heartbeat. Or Cherry.

Character I would be best friends with: Joe, hands down, Joe. We can get on Cherry's nerves together.

A random thought: Miki, the green haired chick from episode 2, I think she has the potential to be skater. I actually wrote a whole fic with this idea called "You're Lime Green Jell-O".

An unpopular opinion: Reki actually has some great fashion sense and I would wear his hoodies. I want every single color.

My Canon OTP: Okay, since it's not exactly stated if they are canon, I'm not going to say Renga, but I will say Nanako and Oliver. Because... 😭

My Non-canon OTP: But I will say Renga here.

Most Badass Character: REKI. Look, I don't care what anyone says, that kid was the first to ever humiliate Adam. His plan involving the rain was solid! He's also crafty, makes skateboards!! Like the other characters are badasses in their own right, but Reki's race with Adam in the rain? That took the cake for me.

Most Epic Villain: Hands down, Adam. He's easy to hate, but you gotta admit he is an interesting character.

Pairing I am not a fan of: I do not like Adam and Langa together.

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Kiriko, I actually wanted to see more of her and her investigation of Adam. But I hope for her return in season 2.

Favourite Friendship: Love it romantically, but I also love Reki and Langa as friends, too. They just click so well!! I also love Joe being like a big bro to Reki.

Character I most identify with: Reki, yes, Reki. A lot of how he felt about himself was relatable to me and his personality is similar to my own. Also, big siblings. I am a big sibling, the eldest, and have siblings just about all three of his sisters' ages and it be like that.

Character I wish I could be: Sketchy. Seems to have a lot of fun.

SHINKAMI! 🐈⚡

When I started shipping them: Ooh, when did I... okay in my early days of being in the fandom. It's actually one of the first ships I started shipping due to what my first ship was. (I'll let you guess who was my first ship, and yes, still ship it.)

My thoughts: I just love this ship! First off, individually, I do adore both characters.

What makes me happy about them: I like that they are friends in canon. That there is that foundation of their relationship.

What makes me sad about them: I actually don't have anything really sad about them. I'm just happy the ship exists.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: Again, I really don't have anything here. I haven't actually read that much ShinKami fics enough to pick up on a recurring trait that may annoy me.

Things I look for in fanfic: I'm not really picky, to be honest. So I kind just explore when it comes to ShinKami.

My wishlist: I would love more interactions with them. Even just a single shot will do for me.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Okay, personally, for BNHA, I don't care for any ship to be canon. An ending doesn't need to have canon ships to be a good ending, that's just me. I don't hate the idea of ships being canon at the end though. But I don't mind Kamijiro, still a purple-yellow ship. For Shinsou? I actually don't have anybody. Maybe Midoriya, I like ShinDeku, too.

My happily ever after for them: See them partner up some more in the future.

ANYA FORGER 🥜🌸

How I feel about this character: That she deserves happiness and everything else she wants. She's adorable, she's precious, she's funny.

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Damian and Becky

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Gotta bring up Becky here again because her friendship with Becky is just too adorable. And I love Becky!

My unpopular opinion about this character: Hm, do I actually have one?? I don't think I do.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: There should be like those comedy segments, like shorts of Anya's antics with Bond, Becky, Damian and the other kids as guest stars.

Favorite friendship for this character: Again, Becky and I also adore her and Bond as pals! He's the best!!
