I need to rant about my favorite characters right now so here’s a bunch of my Remus Sanders headcanons in no particular order!

Headcanons under cutoff

Small trigger warning for mentions of self h@rm and murder

Autistic (already made a post about this here, it’s pretty old tho and I’m probably going to redo it)

Uses they/them pronouns

Likes taking showers, not to get clean but because it’s one of the only times where it’s socially acceptable to be naked

Hates following social norms and sticks to their own thing

Will not hesitate to kill any bigoted people

Favorite musical is Twisted from Team Starkid

Likes to self harm for the thrill of it sometimes, and their one wrist is totally messed up because of it

Does pole dancing for sport

Has octopus tentacles they can summon at will

Likes to hang off the ceiling and use their tentacles as a hammock

Likes to grow their hair out really long and style it in a bunch of different ways

Likes having their hair played with

Cannot keep a pair of headphones in good condition for more than a week and by the end of the week the headphones are either destroyed or covered in stickers and marker

Loves to sketch different kinds of monsters and creatures and has a sketchbook of a bunch of their different monster designs

Fucking LOVES JustDance and DDR and is very competitive when it comes to those games

After their eye got stabbed in WTIT, they messed with it so much due to the discomfort of the itchiness from their allergies that their eye is fucked up and will fall out at random times and will need help putting it back in

Loves the HBO Harley Quinn animated series (their favorite character is Bane)

Likes to listen to Jack Stauber and Insane Clown Posse

Very dependent on attention and will become spiteful and annoying if they’re ignored for too long

Has a special interest in true crime

Is a really big cat person, has taken many different types of cats as pets including wildcats, lions, tigers, jaguars, cheetahs, etc

Is a really big fan of aquatic life, especially all the different weird creatures near the bottom of the ocean

Has a weapon called a jackhandle (jack coming from the phrase “jack of all trades”) which is basically a handle that can turn into any weapon at will

Their bed is a repurposed coffin and the lid was turned into a shelf with a bunch of their figurines and stuff on it

Bites stuff when stimming and loves chew fidgets

Their room is decorated to a horror theme

Loves haunted houses, and has been tempted to become a scare actor a few times before

Janus is literally the only person who can keep Remus calm

Will eat literally anything, Janus has had to save them from choking multiple times

Loves physical affection

Second, I have a new headcanon: Remus does needle-felting.

Mr Fuzzy looks like it could have been at least partially made through that, and Remus would absolutely love an art form that involves repeatedly stabbing something with barbed needles.

Sanders Sides cooking headcanons cause for some reason I was thinking about them-

Roman: a great cook but only cooks somewhat strange and creative things, ask him to follow a recipe and it’ll be inedible

Logan: a perfect alright cook, can make literally anything as long as he’s got a recipe but without one he’s completely lost

Virgil: not as bad of a cook as you’d think, with a clear enough recipe he does great, but it stresses him out so he rarely does it. No one else knows he can cook tho cause he’s terrified of being judged so he doesn’t share

Patton: can cook like three meals, no recipe needed it’s all in his head, anything else however will end in disaster. He’s a really good baker tho

Remus: a great cook, but only to his own taste, which means he’s banned from the kitchen so he doesn’t poison anyone again.

Janus: a wonderful cook most things he makes are delicious, but you never know what you’ll get. He loves disguising foods as other foods to mess with everyone, it’s usually tasty enough for them to not mind too much

wanted to make a sort of ref for everyone so i can keep track of everyone's designs, heights, etc

general:

the sides work with a kind of cartoon logic (kinda like who framed Roger rabbit) which is what their shape shifting and such is, they can survive pretty much everything, dont bend to reality type thing

i also dig playing around with the idea that they just arent human, they dont need to eat, sleep, even breathe or blink if they dont wanna. They just play more human around thomas so they dont freak him out (everyone but remus at least, dude doesnt give a fuck lol) they all have their priorities regarding that kinda stuff. like logan doesnt eat or sleep almost at all (there r exceptions tho obvi (crofters))  while patton rly likes to cook and bake so why not eat the stuff you make? meanwhile remus eats literally anything he can find

they can also float if they wanna, same thing where they just dont around thomas. this came about me just imagining remus consistently floating around in the mindscape instead of walking for whatever reason? so yeah they can do that

theres a core mindscape and a ‘dark’ mindscape, that sorta works like the upside down from stranger things (as in the dark mindscape is like literally upside down and mirrors everything, like this)

everyones also got their own unique doors to their rooms. logans is very sleek and modern, pattons in more childlike and almost vintage, romans resemble castle doors while remus’ is more like a dungeons, virgils is typically angsty teenager with tons of posters and ‘keep out’ signs, and janus has tons of locks on his

design wise the core sides have straight teeth and fluffier hair while the dark sides have sharp teeth and rougher(?) hair (since changing, virgil has vampire-esque fangs)

logan:

square rimmed glasses

loves the rain

unintentionally fidgets with his clothes, always adjusting his glasses or rolling his sleeves up and down or messing with the buttons or his tie

playing more into the whole ‘sides dont have to eat thing’ he finds food kinda nasty lol, again only rly eats stuff thats very good to him (ultimate picky eater basically) patton has tried and failed many times to get logan to try and like new foods

roman was the one who got him to try crofters

watches those long ass video essays about random topics on youtube for background noise

patton:

round glasses and heart eyes

has roller blades/skates! specifically these ones that retract the wheels. good way of getting energy out (even if hes super clumsy with them)

tallest + dad bod

tons of bandages, kinda playing around with the phrase ‘broken heart’

him and janus play video games together (both of them are terrible lol)

definitely listens to dad rock/dad music

roman:

starry eyes!

crown can float on its own (same w/ remus’)

has one of these couches in his room to dramatically faint onto

him and remus dont share a room, but they have a sort of portal to each others rooms if that makes sense. a big mirror but instead of reflecting, its showing into the other room and only the twins can go thru

wants to be his own side after the split

roman and remus pierced each others ears when they were younger

virgil:

decently tall but slouches a lot which hides it (slouching hes shorter than the twins but still taller than janus) also rarely stands or sits straight at all so it kinda shocked the core sides when he showed them how tall he rly was (queue roman being mad cuz hes actually the shortest of the main four lol)

has stereotypical emo hair and still has some purple dye in it

hot topic skeleton fingerless gloves and muddy sneakers (idk why it just feels right)

tons of random bruises

draws his nails black with sharpie

listens to metal music to calm down. remus got him into a lot of numetal, screamo kinda music when virgil was still one of the others, it was one of the few times theyd hang out and virgil wasnt 100% freaked out by remus

definitely experimented with scene fashion when thomas was a teenager

drinks tons of energy drinks

janus:

uses the staff from pof as a walking cane

speaks fluent pig latin, remus and logan are the only ones who can somewhat understand what he says (remus cuz hes been around janus so long, and logan wanting to research and understand whatever the hell janus is saying) it also has always drove virgil up the wall cuz hes never been able to get it, janus will start speaking it just to annoy him

only rly relaxes when by himself, always kinda putting on a mask with the others and thomas, regardless of how trustworthy he considers them

constantly coming up with proper plans and schemes, typically wouldnt let remus near them with a 10 foot pole (affectionately)

knows how to lockpick

is like half an inch taller than roman and will never let him live it down

enjoys all the ‘bad’ disney/pixar movies. (cars, home on the range, etc) and like unironically enjoys them. prolly started ironically to mess with roman but he genuinely find those ones the best and cant fathom why theyre disliked (totally not self-indulgent cuz some of those movies are my favorites)

comes up with random weird plans and ropes janus into them whenever possible, janus plays along best he can

somewhat wants to fuse back with roman (even if hes unsure why)

remus and virge used to make fun of roman together all the time

remus is the one who gave virge his septum and gages

Headcannon:

Patton definitely has dad sneezes. It’s the explosive sneeze that ricochets off the wall and can be heard several countries away. It will ring in his ears before he rates it, and chuckles about the inconvenience of it.

The sides will be horrified about the sneezes at first, but they’ll have to get used to it. Especially it Virgil can hear it over the blaring music in his headphone.

Patton, sheepishly, after sneezing so loud: gee sorry Remus I didn’t mean to wake you!

Remus, obviously disappointed after appearing: it sounded like a scream, I thought you were dying.

Patton: aww thank you for coming to save me!

Remus: I wanted to watch 😞

Cereal??

Headcannons

Patton's favourite is Lucky Charms. Unhealthy amount of sugar, great for the kids, bunch of rainbows representing the gayness of it all, it's perfect

Logan won't eat much cereal. He sees a lack in the nutrients and dislikes the processing of foods. If he needs a quick meal, he'll have oatmeal. If Patton needs someone to eat cereal with, Special K (with the strawberries)

Roman's favourite is Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I have no other explinations (Logan buys lactose free milk for Roman to use for almost exclusively cereal)

Virgil tried the Count Chocula cereal once, and will now eat no other kind of cereal. Except Coco Pebbles

Janus wouldn't eat breakfast. He'd drink iced coffee or have a cup of coffee and call it a morning

Remus would like Captain Crunch. Takes pride in obnoxiously eating as loud as he can, and never has cereal during the sane hours to eat cereal

The Sides When They Are Sick - Headcanons

(from best to worst at coping)

Logan: he keeps himself in check so as soon as he notices any symptoms, he immediately takes meds and keeps himself hydrated. he is a bit hesitant to stop working entirely but doesn't push himself, because he wants to be a good role model for Thomas.

Janus: he quarantines himself in his room until he feels better. if he needs anything, he just asks Remus to get it for him. if Remus makes things difficult in his usual Remus fashion, Janus just uses his extra arms to get the thing himself. he's a lot quieter than usual and hisses at anyone who disturbs him.

Patton: he's a lot more visibly depressed. gives up trying to make jokes or look happy. he stays in bed all day and Thomas is noticeably more miserable during this time too. the other sides want to take care of him but Patton feels guilty for burdening them.

Roman: you've all seen it. he's loud, he's dramatic and he makes sure anyone within a mile away knows that he's sick and miserable. gets Thomas into a creative block at this time, even though insists that he's fine and tries to continue working. Patton finds him delirious and half-asleep on his desk at 3AM and has to drag him to bed.

Virgil: sleeps A LOT. this often causes Thomas to be a little absentminded though not entirely anxiety-free. when Virgil is awake, one of the other sides has to keep him company to make sure he doesn't work himself into a state of extreme paranoia ("google says i'm gonna die in five days, i'm gonna go dig my grave now" "vIRGIL NO—")

Remus: he is EXTRA unhinged. every time he sneezes, he accidentally summons something. sometimes it's a judgmental toad, sometimes it's a cursed amulet, sometimes it's an entire garbage can. he refuses to stay put and goes around the mind palace, filling it up with trash. he also refuses to wear clothes because he gets too hot and sweaty, so the sides have to stay in their rooms unless they want to risk being flashed.

Some more sanders sides headcanons because why not:

Roman and remus are both ambidextrous, but roman uses the left hand and remus prefers the right

Patton and roman have a nervous stutter, janus and logan ramble when pressed, and virgil and remus shut down when upset.

Patton has a very loud, dad-like sneeze. This has jumpscared virgil on multiple occasions, surprised logan when he's too focused or tired, and even startled himself on one occasion

Janus likes to paint his nails, but thinks they look bad/ruin his image. He wears the gloves to cover for it. Virgil knows, he used to paint them for him when he was a dark side.

While most things can put virgil on edge, crowds are most likely to make him more anxious

Janus knows when the sides are lying, virgil knows when others are scared and patton knows when they are hiding their emotions

Patton has taken to inviting janus over for ddr, who has taken it upon himself to bring remus along. The trio get along surprisingly well, and enjoy each other's company (in secret at least)

Patton knows alot of swear words/dirty jokes, but just censors himself because "a good father figment is no bad influence"

Logan frequently chides the others on their clumsiness, but has a record for bumping into furniture and tripping over himself when he gets too caught up in his work. This does not happen when he's reading a book, however, where he can dodge even a surprise attack from remus without losing his spot on the page

Virgil hisses as a warning, because he can/has/will bite. He learned this habit from remus, who bites without warning or reason
