Inrulogical one shot
Enjoy :D
The metal claw banged against the glass with the sound of defeat, once again empty.
"Ughh! I did all the right tactics! It GRABBED IT! THEN IT FELL! This is rigged," Logan said with a groan, after one too many failed attempts. The large butterfly plushie was right there. RIGHT THERE.
Remus leaned against the glass, watching his boyfriend analyze the cursed claw machine once again.
"Come on Specs, gimme a few quarters," he said with a grin.
Logan sighed. "There's only a few quarters left."
"Guess I'll have to do my best to grab them in-" Logan shot him a glare. "...with the claw."
Logan handed over the quarters, too frustrated with the claw machine to say much.
"Is there a specific one you want?"
"No."
"Uh-huh."
"Yes."
"Which one?"
Logan shyly motioned towards the butterfly one.
"Oh! The butterfly for my little butterfly," Remus said, shooting Logan a flustered smirk when he saw him blush. He put in some quarters and started playing.
No luck.
No luck.
No luck.
No more quarters.
"Dang it!" Remus said, kicking the machine. "I swear, this one has to be rigged."
Logan gave a small smile. "It's alright, the butterfly really isn't that important. The chances of getting it were infinitesimal anyway."
Nope. Big nope. Remus would not let Logan walk away like that, especially with that type of sad smile on his face.
Remus grabbed Logan's arm as he started to walk away. "If this machine gets to cheat, then so do I."
"Remus, what do you mean-" Logan started, only to stop in shock when Remus started trying to climb into the machine.
"You aren't."
"Oh I am."
"You'll get stuck," Logan said with a sigh, shaking his head with a small smile on his face at his boyfriend's antics. However, when he looked up again, Remus was not beside him.
Remus was inside the claw machine.
"What- that- how?! That shouldn't be possible!" Logan said in shock.
Remus laughed as he rolled around in the small sea of plushies. "When you've done the probably illegal things I've done, you learn how to get into small spaces!"
Logan stared, mouth open in shock.
"Here's your butterfly!" Remus laughed, tossing it down the chute. "Oh cool!!! There's an octopus in here too!"
Although his voice was somewhat difficult to hear through the glass, Logan was still able to understand it. That was his boyfriend. In a claw machine. To get him a stuffed animal.
"Are there any other sea animals?" Logan asked with a mischievous grin.
Now it was Remus's turn to stare at Logan, mouth wide. He quickly recovered though and started moving the animal around the machine. "I'll check!!" he said gleefully.
By the time they were done, they had nearly a dozen stuffed animal stuffed into their coats and in their arms as they walked out to their car.
"I'm still surprised you managed to get out of that machine," Logan said with an eyebrow raised once the adrenaline died down.
"I'm still surprised you approved of it," Remus said with a smirk.
Logan smiled at that, turning Remus into a light shade of pink. "I wouldn't say I approve of it buuuut... the machine had it coming."
As they got in the car, Remus relaxed. "By the way... you may want to get us out of here rather quickly."
Logan paused. "Remus.. what did you do."
Remus opened his coat, unleashing a sea of plushies into the car. "I may have taken lot of them."
To his surprise, Logan burst out laughing. "Is that all of them?" Logan asked between laughs.
For the next few minutes all Logan did was watch Remus open everything, from his bags to his pockets until the car seemed to be filled with the entirety of the plushies from the claw machine.
Logan laughed as he held is butterfly plush, a sound Remus loved.
"We should probably get out of here then," Logan said, still chuckling from the events of the trip.
Remus leaned forward and kissed his nose. "I love you Butterfly."
Logan smiled lovingly at him. "I love you too."

Brave face, talk so lightly(hide the truth)

'All my life, I've just wanted to make things easier for them.'
Au August
Day/Prompt: Day 26 - Soulmate
Ship: Prinxiety, brief logicality, creativitwins
Word count: 3k (I'm so sorry I got carried away)
Cw: swearing / brief murder mention / implied death / crying / nightmares(?) / anxiety mention / caps / claustrophobia(?)
A/N: the prompt is your dreams are your soulmate's memories. The title is from the song "Sick of losing soulmates" by dodie. I wrote the first 1/4 of this a few days ago and the rest in one sitting and I couldn't care less about proofreading it so Im so sorry if there are any mistakes ;-;
@tsshipmonth2020
I see a girl in the distance. She has her back turned. Long chocolate-colored hair tied in a low messy bun. My hand is reaching out to her. I feel this sudden longing to be held by this woman. Craving her caring and loving words. Telling me that everything is going to be alright.
Wait. Why is she getting farther away?
She looks back at me with a sad smile. Everything gets dark. I let my eyes stray from her to look around. When was I in a hospital corridor?
"I'm sorry, Pumpkin. You're gonna have to continue our adventure without me. But, fear not, Little one. I'll always be there by you. You just gotta learn to know where I am,"
She caresses my cheek, giving me the warmest smile I have ever received.
She's gone, suddenly. I touch my cheek, still feeling the ghost of her warm touch. Along with… something wet? Am- Am I crying?
"Roman!"
I don't move. I feel stuck. But, also free, somehow. Just unsure of what to do, I guess?
"Roman! Wake up. You idiot!
"Roman!
"Oh, thank all things unholy! I thought someone was in our room, trying to murder us! You were crying, and- and whispering stuff! And it's creeping me the fuck out! And I'm not easily creeped out, you know that" Remus exclaimed as he sat on Roman's chest, grabbing his twin’s shoulders.
"Man, you're soulmate must have some twisted memories," He continued, getting off of Roman and returning to his own bed across the room.
'Yeah. Twisted…' Roman thought.
~*~*~
"You okay there, Sweetie?" Roman heard from where his head was buried on the kitchen counter. "Yeah... Just thinking about my soulmate again," he admitted.
"Another bad dream?" His mom inquired as she sat next to Roman, patting his back. "It's not just that. It's about the move. Like, we're never really sure which of our memories they see, right? But, they've seen all my memories from this place. Like, they know where I've been my entire life…" he trailed off.
"I'm just not sure how they would feel seeing a whole new different place… They don't seem to be in a place to experience a big change right now. All my life, I've just wanted to make things easier for them. And, yeah, my dreams don't really change that much. But, I make an effort, y'know?" Roman looked up at his mom to seek at least some kind of reassurance.
"I understand what you mean, and I think that what you're doing is great. And I know that you're gonna be the bestest thing that's ever gonna happen to them. But, I'm really sorry. We don't really have any choice with this move. I know your soulmate is in a dark place right now, but you can't always do everything for them. You're also your own person," His mom hugged him.
Roman felt like he was hopeless in this situation. And, he was always hoping for the best. For his soulmate or otherwise. Maybe his mom was right about putting himself first sometimes.
~*~*~
Virgil was in his first period when someone he didn't expect to walk into his classroom… walks into his classroom… They were wearing an army green shirt, a denim jacket with neon green highlights and spikes at the bottom, ripped jeans, and platform boots with more spikes and vulgar words written on them. To say that this man was familiar was an understatement. He KNEW this man's entire life THROUGH his dreams.
Virgil felt like he was trespassing someone's life. Like, he wasn't supposed to know the man. And that, they shouldn't be in any way related. Especially to their sibling.
He wasn't really ecstatic about meeting his soulmate. IN SCHOOL NO LESS. It wasn't really an ideal 'meet-your-soulmate' place for someone like Virgil.
"Alright, students, I'm sure you've all noticed that we have a new student right here. Now, why don't you go and introduce yourself, Mister," their teacher said to the denim jacket guy.
"Umm. Sup? I'm Remus Duke Kingsley. Nice to meet you all. And, if you see a guy that looks like me but without the mustache and wears red all the time, he’s always loud, you can’t miss him. That's my twin brother, Roman. The boring one," Remus says, yawning by the end of his introduction.
'HOLY FUCK, TWINS?!' Virgil thought. Fortunately(or unfortunately, depending on which part of Virgil's brain you're asking), Remus already gave him a vague description of who to look out for.
~*~*~
Virgil continues his day and falls into his daily routine, which mostly includes attempting to avoid being perceived by anyone. It usually succeeds if you exclude his friend, Patton, from ‘anyone.’ He only hopes that his soulmate also sees Patton in their dreams cuz, to be honest, Patton is the ray of sunshine everyone needs. Yeah, he was also friends with Logan, but he’s more like a moon if you ask him.
Virgil goes into the cafeteria and sits at their usual table, his back facing the entire cafeteria. He takes out a paper bag from his bag and grabs the sandwich he bought earlier, not waiting for his friends.
A few moments pass before Logan and Patton reach his table. “Hey, kiddo! You alright?” Patton says as he sits down. Virgil just gives them a nod and continues to eat. “I heard this morning that there were new students,” Logan inquires before Patton interrupts “Oh yeah! They’re twins! I have first period with one of them. He’s really nice. Oh! Hey! Roman! Over here!” Patton shouts and waves his arm toward a student that just entered the cafeteria. “Hope you guys don’t mind that I invited him over to sit with us,” He continues and flashes both Virgil and Logan a smile no one could say no to.
“Hey, Patton.” The guy says to Patton. “Hope you guys don’t mind me crashing your table. I’m Roman by the way,” Roman says to the other two. “Pleasure to meet you, Roman. I’m Logan. And, no, we wouldn’t mind at all,” Logan answered him back. Roman looked over to Virgil who just nodded and said his name. Roman then proceeded to sit next to Virgil but not paying him any mind.
And, though Virgil seemed to be calm about the situation, his mind is currently in flames having his anxiety and his gay panic fight over each other. Virgil is currently waiting for who would win, that's why he seems so calm on the outside. After finishing his sandwich, he was trying to think of something he could do to keep himself from leaving and be noticed. He looked over to Logan, attentively listening to Patton talking about the dog he saw this morning. Roman was silently eating his lunch, also listening to Patton, but looking around the cafeteria every once in a while.
It seems that Virgil’s anxiety won the fight because he decided that he doesn’t want to stick around with his friends and his apparent soulmate without doing anything. So, he stands up and excuses himself from the group. "Hey! Wait!" Roman calls after him. Virgil stops a few feet from the table to look back at Roman who was already jogging towards him.
"Virgil, right?" He assures.
Virgil nods. "Ok, there’s just something I wanna ask you. Are those two soulmates?" Roman throws his thumb back, pointing at the two left at the table. "Cuz, as much as how adorable they look together, I kinda don't want to be stuck as a third wheel," he continues.
"Oh. Yeah, those two are soulmates. Sometimes, I wonder if they ever do notice me every time I leave the table," Virgil elaborates, looking back at his friends with a slight smile.
"Umm. Class doesn't start for a few more minutes. I was wondering if I could join you for a while? Wherever you were going…" Roman trailed off, realizing he didn't know where the shorter male was headed.
"Uhh. Yeah, sure. I was just headed to the courtyard to pass the time,"
'Shit. Virgil, why are you doing this?! Why did you agree?! You have anxiety!' Virgil mentally scolded himself.
"Ok. Cool. I'll just go get my stuff," Roman flashed Virgil a smile before heading back to the table.
'Fuck. I am so screwed,' Virgil thought.
~*~*~
"So, what's the deal with those two? I mean, how did they deal with the soulmates thing?" Roman finally spoke a few moments after they found a bench to settle on. "Uhh, well. Logan is my childhood friend and the first day we started high school here, they both had a dream of roll call the other had that day, I guess? They both heard each other's name and boom. You got your glasses gays," Virgil discussed, reminiscing the events that happened that day.
Roman let out a chuckle at Virgil's last words, causing the other's heart to skip a beat. They remain silent for a while, watching the other students passing by.
"What about you?" Roman spoke up.
"What about me?" Virgil glances back.
"I mean, what about you? Have you met your soulmate? Do you know who they are? You just seem like an interesting individual to me, having to stick around knowing you're third-wheeling all the time yet valuing your time with them and your time with yourself all the same. Well, either that or I'm just embarrassed that I think you're uncomfortable with me here…" Roman rambled, rubbing the back of his neck, embarrassed.
Virgil chuckled, "Nah. I just get anxious when meeting new people. Plus, I think you're a pretty nice guy." They smiled at each other, Virgil feeling his face heat up, and looks away immediately. "And, about the soulmate thing. I think I have a clue of who they might be, I just…" he trailed off.
"What's holding you back?" Roman muttered, lowering his head, attempting to catch the other's eye. "I… I just think that my memories aren't that… for them. They're just this amazing and joyful person… I just don't think they deserve to see my bland memories every night,"
The pair fell silent, Roman feeling sympathy for the other. Virgil felt Roman shift in his seat before speaking up, "I don't think anyone's memories are ever bland."
Virgil looks up at Roman who has a far-off look with a slight smile on his lips. "I think that our dreams are what shows us what we're missing in life. What our soulmate has that we need and what we have that they need. You know, what makes you both feel complete when you're with each other," Roman smiled.
Virgil pondered on the other's statement for a while. "Is that... Is that how you feel when you're with your soulmate?" He said, being careful with his words. Roman sighed but remained smiling, "I haven't met them yet. But, what you said earlier reminded me of them. I always think they're a little different. My moms said that dreams are supposed to show my soulmate's memories. But, no one is ever sure which ones we see. Well, my dreams always have one thing in common… There's darkness every time…" Roman trailed off, looking more sad as he continued.
"Sometimes, they walk out of their house and, suddenly, everything goes dark and I see pairs of eyes staring at me as I walk. Or sometimes, they lie in bed and, suddenly, it's dark again and I'm stuck inside a box too small for me. But, there’s always this one dream that always repeats itself. Though, I'm not sure my soulmate's gonna be comfortable with me sharing," Roman finally snaps out of his trance and looks up at Virgil, looking embarrassed.
At this point, Virgil is now entirely sure that the person in front of him is his soulmate. He feels tears cloud his eyes so he looks away to play off wiping them away before looking back at Roman with pity in his expression. This is exactly what Virgil was afraid of, having his soulmate also experience the darkness that clouds him every day he wakes up.
"Wow… They- I- I don't know what to say… What are you gonna do when you meet them?" Virgil glances at Roman, pity still in his eyes. Roman let out a sigh but smiled, "I'm gonna give them the biggest hug they've ever received and reassure them that I'm always gonna be with them and that they'll never have to feel alone all the time ever again." Roman looked at Virgil with a smile. But, before he could notice the tear that fell from the other's eye, a loud shrill of their school bell rang throughout the courtyard, signaling the start of their next class.
"Talk about first impressions," Roman said with a chuckle, standing up. "Well, see you around, Virgil. I got a few more 'Hi, I'm Roman' to do," he continued, leaving Virgil on the bench.
~*~*~
I hear my converse squeak as I walk through the hallway. There are people around me, but they're all just silhouettes of the same familiar darkness. I'm walking to what seems to be the cafeteria. I sit down and grab my lunch from my bag. A few minutes pass, two figures sit in front of me. There's something familiar about them despite being two black silhouettes.
"Hey, kiddo! You alright?"
Patton?
"I heard there were new students," Logan?
Wait. Am I…
"Oh yeah! They're twins!"
Oh.
"I have first period with one of them. He's really nice. Oh! Hey! Roman! Over here!"
Before I could look over to… me…
Darkness. Again.
I hear muffled voices. Too muffled to be recognized.
I stay in darkness for what felt like hours before I get surrounded by light.
Too bright.
There's a silhouette in front of me. It doesn't have any facial features but I can feel it stare at me. Slowly, the light around me doesn't feel too bright anymore. It feels… warm and comforting. Similar to the feeling I have in my chest, along with a squeezing feeling. I feel tears cloud my eyes, but I feel happy, somehow?
I feel someone embrace me. I look up to see the silhouette. Its arms around me, like it's protecting me. I feel secure. I feel loved.
I hug back, breaking down in its arms.
"You don't have to be alone anymore"
I hear my own voice. I break down sobbing, seeking more of the silhouette's warmth.
I stopped sobbing after a while but remained in the silhouette's arms for what felt like hours.
"You gotta wake him up!" I heard a distant voice say in a hushed tone.
"No, he hasn't slept like this since who knows when… Something must've happened yesterday..."
I feel myself slowly drifting from where I was standing.
"We can just tell the school he's sick"
"On the second day?"
I feel someone caress my cheek.
"You can stay too if you want"
"Hey, sweetie," Roman opens his eyes to his mom in front of him.
"What's going on? Why are you all in our room?" Roman asks as he sits up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He eyes Remus standing in front of their mama. Their mom is sitting on the edge of Roman's bed, facing him.
"Well, sweetie. You see, you just had a full night's sleep," their mom explained.
"You looked so peaceful too," their mama added with a smile. Roman stopped to let the events of his dream last night come back to him.
"Roman, is everything ok?" Their mama walked over to him, tucking a few strands of his hair behind his ear. "Yeah… Yeah, I'm okay!" He flashed a smile to his moms, meaning what he said.
~*~*~
Roman hadn't been able to sit still ever since he got to school. 'Late', he should add. Apparently, he overslept while Remus and their moms decide whether to wake him up or not.
When they got to school in the middle of first period, they were excused because their moms were there to explain. With a slightly bent truth, of course.
Roman had to wait three(and a half) classes to talk to Virgil. They didn't have any classes together, to which Roman was bummed to find out. When the bell rang, signaling their lunch break, Roman hurriedly headed to the cafeteria. When he got there, he spotted Virgil just about to sit down at their usual table.
"Uhh. Virgil? Can I talk to you for a sec?" Roman felt awkward, to say the least.
"Uhm. Sure," Virgil replied, standing up. Roman led them under a tree in the courtyard, away from other students. They stayed silent for a while before Virgil spoke up, "So… what'd you wanted to talk about?"
Roman just stared at Virgil for a few moments, examining him, before enveloping him in a tight hug. Virgil stood frozen for a while, surprised at the gesture. He slowly placed his hands on Roman's back, still confused at the sudden affection.
"You're not alone anymore, Pumpkin," Roman said in a gentle voice, cradling the other's head. Virgil froze when he heard the nickname. His expression then softens and hugs Roman tighter, burying his face on the taller male’s shoulder.
"How did you find out?" Roman heard, slightly muffled by his jacket. "Had a dream about yesterday," Roman simply stated, not elaborating more. "What about you? You said you had a clue. Oh! That rhymed,"
They both laughed.
"I have first period with Remus and I recognized him right away," Virgil replied, his face still buried on Roman's shoulder. "Oh, I'm so sorry you have to deal with him," Roman chuckled.
"No, I'm sorry you had to deal with him your entire life,"
"Well, we're not alone anymore now, are we? Roman asked with a serious tone. Virgil parted a few inches from Roman, still holding on to him. He smiled as he looked up at Roman, "No, we're not."
This might be the last one I'll do for AU august but I'm also deciding if I should go back to the prompts I missed when I was sick hmm
I wish I included Remus more in this but it was already 3k words and thats the longest I've ever written so maybe its for the best XD

Want Sanders Sides requests? Take your pick: 1)Patton and Janus are "rivals." Whenever they meet, they coldly go "Deceit." "Morality." & then exchange a sassy remark & go on their way. Everyone thinks they hate each other. But really, they're bfs. 2)Sides can't die, but Roman doesn't know that. So when Virgil comes back after getting accidentally killed Roman thinks it's Deceit and rejects him. 3)Patton starts showing frog traits & freaks out thinking Thomas is rejecting him. Janus comforts him.
Me? Finally getting around to finishing fic requests? It's more likely than you think. In all seriousness thank you for the request, I’m sorry its taken so long to get to.
I had to go with prompt 3, I’m a sucker for froggy Patton.
Words: 1,090
All the lights in Patton’s room were turned off and the curtains pulled shut, leaving the room in complete darkness. It would have been silent as well, were it not for the sniffles coming from said side who was curled up underneath his covers, tears streaming down his cheeks despite how hard he had tried to blink them away.
Patton had woken up that morning with a horrified gasp upon seeing his reflection in the mirror. Splotches of moist, slick green skin had started to pop up sporadically across his body, and his eyes had formed an orange tint with his pupils becoming subtly more dark and slanted.
The sight made his stomach churn. Only the dark sides ever exhibited any animal traits, and while he and subsequently Thomas had started seeing them in a different light, the fact that he was now changing appearance couldn’t be good. Despite how hard he had been trying to loosen up a bit Thomas’ view of him was changing, and not for the better.
He sunk back into bed, not daring to think about facing the others in this state.
---
Since the last episode’s ordeal there was a noticeable tension in the mindscape. The sides would silently shuffle through the kitchen every now and then during the day. Roman and Virgil seemed to stay close, throwing dirty looks Janus’s way, and Logan drifted about his business expressionless, acting as if he didn’t even notice the others around him, before retreating back to his room for the rest of the day. With the strain between everyone it was easy for Patton’s absence and failed attempts to lighten the mood to go unnoticed.
It wasn’t until afternoon that Janus realized he was missing when he came into the commons for their usual chat (a routine that they had fallen into in the weeks since the last video). It was then that he also registered he hadn’t seen Patton at all that day. He may not have been welcomed in the light side of the mindscape for very long, but that didn’t seem like normal Patton behavior. A spark of worry came over him and immediately he sunk out in search of the other.
His first instincts led him to the main hallway of the light side, where all the doors to their rooms were. He couldn’t help but notice his own door was currently residing there. In the past few weeks it had been constantly switching at random between here and its place in the dark sides half, as if the mindscape couldn’t quite decide where to put it. Next to it was the light blue door leading to Patton’s room, littered with brightly colored stickers of everything cheerful from hearts to smiling cookies on its exterior. He knocked on it gently. “Patton? Are you in there?”
He was met with the sound of shuffling from the other side and Patton spoke up, his voice carrying an obvious over-chipper tone that was only made more apparent by the way his voice cracked when he spoke. “Oh, Janus, yes, I’m just feeling a little sick though kiddo, I wouldn’t come in.”
The scent of lies lingering in the air became even more apparently overwhelming when Janus pushed open the door and stepped into the darkened room.
His gaze fell on the lump of sheets on the bed. A pathetic final attempt at a cough came out from them as Patton mumbled something about not wanting him to get sick before he threw the covers off the figure entirely. Unable to make out much more than Patton’s form he switched on the nightstand lamp and was greeted with the sight of the other’s current situation.
Patton immediately looked away, eyes brimming with tears.
Janus was admittedly surprised at the sight. The incident with “Lilypadton” had already been an unexpected factor in the events after the wedding. Never did he think that it would carry into his appearance afterwards.
Before he had a chance to process words of comfort Patton cried out in a choked sob, “Why is this happening to me?” His voice sounded deeper than usual, his words carrying a slight reverberation to them. “I’ve tried so hard to loosen up but it doesn’t matter, I’m still hurting Thomas and now-” he stifled what sounded like a cross between a sob and a croak, “and now he doesn’t even like me.”
Janus reached out and gripped Patton’s hand. “And what makes you think that?”
“This!” he gestured across himself, “All of this. I wouldn’t look like this if he didn’t think I was bad.”
Janus couldn’t help but grimace at that. “Thank you Patton.”
“Wha- oh,” his eyes widened, suddenly remembering the scales decorating the other sides face, “I’m sorry, I didn’t, I mean you’re-”
Janus sighed. This was new for all of them, he couldn’t blame Patton for the way he was feeling right now. “I know,” he said, “It’s alright.” He pulled him into a hug, Patton leaning into his chest, appreciating the comforting embrace.
Janus held him silently a moment, choosing his next words carefully.
“You know, snakes almost universally represent trickery. Deceitfulness. Goodness knows Thomas knows that, in part thanks to you.”
Patton hummed in acknowledgment.
“Well, frogs have been known to symbolize a rebirth of sorts, things changing. That’s not always a bad thing either. You even said something along those lines yourself if I recall.”
Patton nodded, his tears slowing their fall and beginning to dry.
“Thomas’ view of you, of all of us, has altered since he was younger, it’s probably even changed quite a bit from a month or a week ago. Your job as his morality can and should be something fluid, and he’s now starting to really understand that. Maybe that thought process is manifesting partially in your physical appearance, but that doesn’t lessen the importance of your role, and it certainly doesn’t mean Thomas no longer wants or needs you.”
Patton sat up a bit, wiping the remaining wetness from his face.
“Thank you, Janus,” he said, given the other a gentle smile.
He gave him one last squeeze before breaking away and standing up. “Of course dear heart.”
He gave Patton an amused look, taking in his new appearance. “Just between you and I,” he said, “green totally isn’t your color. Just, don’t try to make a huge deal out of it. I think Remus has laid claim to it for his Disney villain aesthetic.”
Patton laughed as the two of them sunk out.

Logan and Remus being touch starved Logan isn't a very cuddly person so no one actually thinks he cares, but he hugs his pillow tightly every night in hope of getting rid of this aching feeling that he doesn't understand. Remus being disgusting and stinky to the point that no one would actually touch him. He even tried to rub his skin with soap hard enough to the point of blood trying to be at least enough for a hug. It took so many years for the sides to notice their suffering.
For the prompts thingy: touch starved Remus? Fluff would be preferred but if you want to rip my heart out of my chest that’s cool too - anon
I didn’t manage to include Logan being touch-starved into this other than a throwaway mention unfortunately, you may have to imagine that part!
Warnings: touch starvation, isolation, quarantine/coronavirus mention, negative self-image, obsessive behaviours/slight self-harming behaviours.

Remus is the cleanest of all the sides that are holed up in the corners of Thomas’s mind. No one knows, because the smell of rot and damp always clings to him, and dirt and mess just tend to gravitate to him like he’s a giant walking gross-magnet. But he is clean, cleaning all the time, tidying the mess away, washing and washing and washing so one day, maybe, someone will let him closer than three feet before bolting with wrinkled noses and expressions of disgust.
He knows a bar of soap will only ever last him a day at most, especially with how much of it he eats, hoping to clean up on the inside if he can’t fix the outside, but even then, even if he uses the strongest deodorant or scrubs every inch with perfumed soap or boils his clothes in lavender fabric wash… it only ever lasts until he walks out the door of his room. The smells turn to the cloying scent of too much axe bodyspray, or wilted flowers, or wear off completely to unearth that rancid deadly smell that is his.
Perhaps, he thinks, now that they’re all quarantined, stuck together by the fear that encloses Thomas’s mind (mostly Virgil’s fault, despite Logan’s repeated assurances that there was no possible way they, as figments of his actual imagination, could possibly catch anything), perhaps they’ll let him a little closer. They won’t have a choice, in fact.
He starts by trying to cook lunch, but Patton shoos him out of the kitchen with a gasp, checking over all the ingredients he’d got out for signs of spoiling.
Movie night offers a chance to force closeness, and he sits right in the middle of the couch before anyone can stop him but they find ways, they all find ways to sit away from him.
Remus is camping on the couch overnight, a side effect of a poorly timed joke from Roman about how Remus must be loving the prospect of a highly infectious and gross disease, and how he’s probably made one of his own in his room. It closes off his one access to cleanliness and within the first two days he’s almost unable to bear himself, let alone the other sides.
“Can I borrow a towel?” He asks Deceit, and when the other side throws one at him it’s made very clear to him that the towel is not to be returned, under any circumstances. Remus ventures to the upstairs bathroom and sneaks in, washing and washing under the hot water until he feels at least a little better.
There’s nothing to be done for his clothes, and he cringes when he realises he has to pull them on, skin crawling with the feeling. He barely gets a sleeve over his arm before he burns the lot with a thought, slipping out in just a towel to try and steal something to wear that won’t smell like he’s been living on the street for a month.
Roman’s room is most obvious, but Logan’s door is partially open and won’t make any noise, and Logan has always been… more lenient than the rest. It’s worth a shot, and he definitely doesn’t expect to be caught.
Of course, he is.
As he rummages through the closet to try and find a plain top and pants that Logan won’t realise are missing, doing his best not to touch anything he doesn’t need to, there’s a click and the clearing of a throat behind him.
“What exactly are you doing?” Logan snaps, striding over to push the draw Remus had open shut with a sharp thunk. “Why are you in here? Naked?”
“It’s not what you think!” Remus hurries to scramble away, but Logan steps in the way at the wrong moment and they stumble.
They sprawl when Logan falls on Remus, who ends up awkwardly pressed onto the ground. Logan tries to get up and away, as quickly as possible to avoid the inevitable smell, but Remus is just lying there, eyes closed and breathing heavily. Is he hurt? “Remus? Did I hurt you?!” Logan asks quickly, forgetting about the scent that he was supposed to be noticing.
“No,” Remus croaks, hiding his face in his hands. “No, I’m fine.”
They untangle themselves and when Remus moves away, a hand gripping his towel tightly, shoulders hunched over as he makes for the door, Logan realises something. Maybe it only twigs because he recognises it, but that’s by the by. Remus is almost shaking, hugging onto himself, and he didn’t smell at all. His skin is pink from a hot shower and a little raw looking in places, and he-
“Why did you come to my room?” Logan asks quietly. “What could you possibly need here? Be honest, please.”
The smile he gets is a little manic, but he doesn’t let it put him off. “Oh specs, I’m always honest. That’s usually the problem. I just wanted, some clothes. That were, clean,” Remus manages to reply, forcing the words out at the end.
But- “Why, what happened to yours?”
“I burned them.”
“What?”
Remus turns to face him. “I said I burned them. Because they were gross. And I’d just showered. C'mon, aren’t you supposed to be the smart one? Everyone knows it would be ridiculous to put dirty clothes back on after you’ve washed.”
“You washed?” Logan shakes his head. Obviously, what a stupid question. He carries on before Remus can point that out. “I mean, don’t you want to be dirty? I would’ve thought you’d like to put dirty clothes back on, to keep the smell.”
The silence from Remus’s direction is thick with unspoken things. Until Remus voices them. He never could censor himself very well. “You think I want to be disgusting? Filthy? Smell so bad no one will be in the same room as me? You think I don’t want normal things like family dinners or helping to decorate for Christmas or sharing a bowl of popcorn?”
Logan is stunned silent.
“I thought if I cleaned, if I could just stay clean, then maybe one day someone might hug me,” Remus adds, voice breaking around the word. “I’m not the best person for it, I know, because I really do stink and I’m icky and sticky and gross and horrible but I think I could give good hugs?! I don’t really know, but I think I’d be good at it! I’ve practised on each of you, well not you really but imaginary you’s and they seem to like it well enough and it’s not real feedback of course but-“
Logan looks at him with red cheeks, eyes wide. “What do you mean you don’t know?” He interrupts quietly. “Everyone knows how to hug.”
Remus shrugs. “It’s been a while.”
How long is a while? Logan wants to ask, but he doesn’t know that he wants that question answered. Without a word he goes back to the dresser, pulling out clothes and holding them out towards Remus with a softly guilty expression. “Here, these might fit. Fee- feel free to get more, if you need.”
The second half of creativity dips his head in a grateful nod, relief flashing quick and bright over his face. “Thank you,” he croaks, making for the door again.
Logan knows he should stop him, call him back, give him the touch he clearly craves, but his voice is caught in his throat, tight with shame. Have they really got Remus so wrong? It wouldn’t be difficult, perhaps, considering how little time they spend with him…
As the door clicks shut behind the other side Logan is jolted into action. He bolts out of the door and tugs on Remus’s wrist, turning him back in for an awkward, too-loose hug.
It still makes Remus crumble in his arms and cling to him though. (Logan doesn’t fare much better.)
And it’s just the first hug of many to come; they’ll have time to get it just right.

Torn Apart: A Sanders Sides Fanfiction Chapter 14: Finally, A Happy Reunion
Roman slowly opens his eyes. He's awake! He's back! Roman tries to jolt himself up but stops halfway and gasps from pain. Apparently his body is still sore from what happened. He slowly sits up and looks around, quickly noticing the side sleeping next to the bed and holding his hand. Roman smiles.
"Hey, Janus." Roman quietly says. "Mmph, just a few more minutes..." Janus mumbles, very much still half asleep. "Janus." Roman says, a bit louder this time. Janus yawns and sits up. "Alright, Alright what do you wa-" Janus rubs his eyes and takes a look over at Roman as he talks, soon stopping mid sentence as he sees Roman sitting up and awake. "Hey sleepyhead." Roman says, smiling. "How're you doing?"
Janus stares at Roman in shock. Roman's awake. He's finally awake. Tears start to sting his eyes. "Hey, are you ok-" Roman starts, but is cut off by Janus jumping onto the bed and tackle hugging him. "YOU'RE AWAKE!!" Janus happily cries, hugging the creative side. Roman and Janus laugh, and tears start falling down Janus's face. However they're not tears of sadness, but rather tears of joy. Roman was ok, and that's all that matters right now.
Roman and Janus part from the hug, Janus smiles before going ahead and kissing Roman. Roman soon returns the gesture and time seems to slow down as the two of them stay like that. What was actually a minute seemed like an hour, and the two of them parted, smiling and happy to be together again.
.
The two of them stay like that for a few more minutes before Janus goes ahead and gets off of Roman's bed and stands up. "We need to show the others that you're awake again!!" Janus says, smiling. Roman nods, before getting out of bed and trying to stand up, but failing miserably. Janus catches Roman before he crashes into his bed. "Here, wrap your arm around my shoulders." Janus says. Roman does just that and just grips onto Janus as the decietful side helps him over to the door.
Janus opens up the door out and the other sides look over there in surprise, not seeing Roman yet and not expecting Janus to be out and about again so soon. "Oh, hi Janus! Back so soon?" Janus seems to be paying no attention to what the sides are saying as he helps Roman out the door. The sides see Roman awake and stare at him in shock. Logan dropping his book from surprise.
"Hi guys!" Roman greets. Patton jumps up from the floor and dashes over to Roman, giving him a big hug and almost knocking him over. "You're awake!!!" Patton happily cries. Remus walks out of his room. "What the heck is going on in here-" Remus sees Roman awake and runs over to him and joins in on the hug, soon followed by Logan and Virgil.
.
The group of them part from the hug and Roman grips back onto Janus to keep himself from losing his balance. "Thank goodness you're awake! We've been worried sick about you!!" Patton says. Roman smiles before almost falling over again. "I think it'd be for the best if you rested for a bit longer." Logan says. Roman nods and Janus, instead of trying to walk Roman back to his bed, picks the prince up bridal style and carries him back into his room, Virgil and Patton following close behind.
Janus sets Roman down on his bed and the princely side sits up against the back of it. "Alright then. So, what'd I miss?" Roman asks, grinning. "Oh, not much-" Janus starts. "After you went unconscious Janus decided he wasn't gonna leave your side until you woke up. So that's what he did. He also didn't take care of himself the entire time, Until just about 2 hours ago, where I was able to get him out your room for an hour before he dashed back in here." Virgil says.
Roman looks over at Janus, who gives a nervous laugh. "Janus." "Listen, what else was I gonna do?! There were so many possible bad scenarios that could've happened if I wasn't here, and I didn't want to risk any of them happening!" Roman sighs. "I can understand that, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take care of yourself in the process." "I know..." Janus replies. "But hey, I guess we've got all the time in the world now to fix that, right?" Roman smiles. "Yeah, I guess you're right."
Janus smiles and jumps up onto the bed and sits down next to the princely side before hugging him. "I've missed you." Roman returns the hug. "I've missed you too." Virgil stands up. "I think they need a moment." Virgil says, talking to Patton. Patton nods and gets up as well. "We'll bring you guys some dinner when It's ready." Patton says. Janus nods in response as Patton and Virgil leave the room and close the door behind them.
"You know It's funny..." Janus says. "A part of me said that you weren't ever gonna wake up. That I'd just be sitting here beside you, until Thomas died." Janus choked back the urge to start crying at the thought of that happening. "Hey, hey, It's alright." Roman says, running circles into the deceitful side's back. "I'm right here, I'm awake, everything's gonna be just fine." Janus shakingly sighs and nods. Roman lets go of Janus for a moment to get into a more comfortable position, namely laying down. Janus does the same, and the two of them look at each other for a few moments before hugging again. Both of them need this, to hug the other, to feel like everything is gonna be okay...
The two of them soon fall asleep like that, hugging the other and feeling the most secure they ever have in ages.
.
.
Virgil quietly opens the door and the sides all look inside. They see Janus and Roman both asleep and hugging, and smile. Patton let's out a quiet "Aw" right before he gets shushed by the other sides. Virgil walks over to the bed and stands beside it, looking down at the two sides sleeping. "Let's let them rest." Logan whispers. "They look like they could use it." Remus and Patton nod, taking one glance over at Janus and Roman before going back into the mind palace living room. Virgil looks at Roman and Janus for a minute before pulling up the covers on the bed over the two sleeping sides. He smiles and heads over to where Logan is standing at the door and heads out of the room with him, leaving the door open just a crack.
Janus and Roman are left there, sleeping soundly together as if it would last forever. And even if it didn't, they would wake up knowing that even though the next day would bring upon challenges, they'd get through it together, because they have each other.
And that's all that matters in the end.

Warmth
Words: 1266
Based off of "Cold Snake" by: @yalltookmyurlideas
Summer: Deceit is done with being cold so he comes up with a few plans on how to get warm. Unfortunately, he doesn't end up carrying out any of these plans. Everyone gets a bit worried about him when he shuts himself up in his room.
...
The deep of Winter had finally come a few days ago. Deceit had felt it. It was much colder now, even with the heaters in the house. He was finally was fed up with it, so that's what started Deceit's search for warmth. Deceit had first decided to turn the heaters up a bit. That would be the most effective, but Logan had discouraged him from doing so, saying there was no need.
Onto plan B. Deceit ambled into the living room, looking around for some blankets, pillows, whatever he could possibly find. He determined that included the pillows on the couch.
"Hi, Dee!" Patton greeted, walking over to the side. "What are you up to, Kiddo?"
Deceit froze and looked down at the pillow in his arm. He didn't want to make Patton worried about his problems. Patton was kind to him and he felt no need to bother him with his troubles. Deceit hesitated to speak but sighed as he slowly put the couch pillows back. "Nothing..."
Patton gave a confused look but before he could even say anything, Deceit had turned and left, headed to the kitchen. Upon entering the room, he was greeted by the nickname "Snake Face" from Virgil. Deceit snickered shooting back with "Emo." Virgil smiled slightly, going back to his dinner, which was just a bowl of cereal.
It all came down to plan C. Deceit shifted over to the counter in the hunt of some hot chocolate. That would be nice and warm, even if that wasn't quite what he needed, or even wanted. He disapproved of the flavor 'hot chocolate' still stood. Nonetheless, the remedy was only a temporary fix, but still, it would help. To his dismay, Deceit could not fulfill his plan 3rd and finale plan, unable fined the beverage's mixture.
Roman entered, walking over to the fridge. "Hello there Hot Topic, Snake!" Virgle gave a "Hi" in response.
"Roman," Deceit spoke as he turned to him, "I am not looking for the hot chocolate. Have you seen it?"
"I drank the last of it yesterday." Roman hummed.
Deceit frowned, his heart sinking a little. "I see." He was actually looking forward to some of the distasteful drink for once in his life, so it was actually a downer when there really was none.
Roman easily noticed Deceit's dissatisfaction with his answer. "It's just hot chocolate, Dee. You don't have to be so down about it. We'll get more." Roman had said, pulling a plastic container out of the fridge, most likely containing leftovers.
Deceit gave a look of discomfort but then huffed as he shuffled out of the kitchen. Roman shook his head. "He doesn't have to be such a drama queen!"
"Your right, it's still your job," Virgle commented, in witch Roman scoffed and told him to shut up.
Everyone noticed when Deceit didn't arrive for breakfast, as well as lunch. So when Remus sat down with the others for dinner, a plate of spaghetti in hand, he sighed and asked the question everyone was already silently asked themselves. "Dee's still in his room?"
Roman rolled his eyes. "That Snake is so stuck up! All I did was tell him we didn't have any more hot chocolate." He took a bite of his spaghetti, clearly uneasy by Deceit's behavior.
Patton hummed. "He seemed really down yesterday."
"We should check on him," Virgil commented, resting his head onto one of his arms as he stared blankly at his food.
"What's the point?" Roman scoffed, waving it off. "He's just overreacting."
"But Dee doesn't even like hot chocolate." Remus brought up.
Logan hummed putting a hand to his chin. "I'm starting to think otherwise."
Roman shook his head. "Well yeah, genius. He certainly got upset because there was none."
Logan sighed. "That's not what I mean. I don't think he's upset over the beverage, nor do I think he was necessarily overreacting."
Patton gave a confused look. "How come?"
"He's merely just cold."
"Where did you get that conclusion?" Roman asked.
"Yesterday he'd gone to turn the heat up, I urged against it. Later, -according to Patton- he seemed down, and then there wasn't any hot chocolate, which -as its name states- is a hot beverage." Logan referred to. "We're in the dead of winter and we all know Deceit's more susceptible to the cold than us. I see why he acted the way he did, except for the fact that he did not tell us."
Patton stood. "Come on, kiddos. We should go to find him!"
"Because I totally didn't recommend that," Virgil mumbled.
"Daddy's home!" Remus virtually shrieked as he literally kicked in the door to Deceit's bedroom.
"Remus! You can't just do that!" Roman criticized, him and the others entering the room behind.
Remus laughed. "What? I was just formulating my entrance!"
"You know not to-" Roman's words we cut off by Deceit's.
"Get out."
Everyone blinked in surprise, looking over him. Deceit sat against the wall in the corner of his room, shivering profusely as tears streamed down his face. They couldn't help but feel bad for him.
Remus huffed as he noticed how Deceit's hat and gloves were thrown to the floor, reviling his messy hair and his clawed hands, which clutched at his arms. Deceit was a mess.
"You have permission to be in here." Deceit hissed, looking away. "Now get out."
Patton didn't hesitate to run up to Deceit, pulling him into a hug. Deceit froze, surprised by the action, but he melted into it, feeling Patton's heat seep into him. He was just... So cold. "Your freezing Dee! Why didn't you tell any of us you were so cold! We all would have helped you keep warm!"
Deceit sighed. "I... I Just..." Patton pulled away slightly but kept his arms around him.
"Don't worry! We'll get you all warmed up!" Patton cheered, plucking Deceit up off the floor, causing him to gasp a little and wrap his arms around Patton's neck. Deceit half expected Patton to just tuck him into bed and leave, but he didn't. None of them did. Instead of leaving, one by one all of them climbed in next to the other, snuggling themselves around Deceit. Everyone but Virgil... Deceit noted.
Roman sighed, "You should have just told us. You may be a really good liar but there's nothing wrong with telling us the truth. So just tell us what's wrong..."
Deceit felt tears form in his eyes. They... Were being really kind and understanding with him and him, he felt really grateful for it. "You're right."
Patton and Roman both smiled at him a bit more as both of them rubbed away his tears.
Deceit looked up at Virgil, who had huffed and finally started to walk over to the bed. "See I told everyone we should go find you, we were all worried..." he mumbled, moving the blankets and sitting down in Deceit's lap. Everyone smiled and chuckled a little as Virgil pulled the covers over himself.
"I... definitely understand...Why-?" Logan cut Deceit off.
"It's because we care about you, that is all."
Deceit blushed. "B-but-"
"Oh shut up!" Remus blurted out. "Just shut up for a once and accept we care about you so I can have these damn cuddles. Unless you'd prefer-"
"Remus!" Virgil snapped.
Everyone chuckled again. Deceit let out a content sigh, leaning into all the warmth and love around him as well as wrapping his arms around Virgil to pull him closer, causing everyone else to shift closer together.
"Thank you."

I would also like to note that I do not believe all heterosexual people are stupid.
Oh also...there's mention of sex, a few times.
~
Roman was the first to come home from class, waiting on his brother and roommates. He knew everyone was going to be stressed, so he made himself busy, he decorated everything and sent out a text to every friend he had.
Tonight he was throwing a party. He told Virgil so he wouldn't freak out, but let the others be surprised.
Virgil came home next, deciding to help Roman with decorations and finishing off the shitty vodka Roman bought weeks ago. "We need more booze if this is going to be fun..." Virgil groaned out, feeling a bit tipsy.
"Well if someone would stop drinking we'd have booze!" Roman sighed.
"Hey! There wasn't enough for everyone! Not to mention this is shit! Normally I'd be drunk off my ass right now, but you got weak stuff, next time let me buy it." Virgil argues back.
Roman groans, he knew Virgil had a point. "Fine, grab my keys. Make sure to GIVE me them. You're not driving." Roman said, yanking the keys from Virgil. They got in the car and quickly bought cases of beer and a few bottles of Vodka, tequila, and scotch at Virgils request.
They get back to their dorm and finish up their decorating before everyone else gets back.
~
Logan looked at their dorm in shock, he had no idea Roman was going to throw a party. There were people already showing up when he, Patton, Derien, and Remus showed up.
"What the fuck is going on?!" Logan called out, "look Ro...I've had a stressful day. I do not need your idiotic ideas right now..." he said while pinching the bridge of his nose.
"I know you've had a stressful day, that's why I threw you a party. Giving you a chance to let loose, you don't have classes for 3 days! Take advantage of those days to nurse a hangover." Roman smiled and pulled everyone in.
It wasn't long before Remus and Virgil began doing shots, Virgil being the winner.
Derien looked around, drinking lightly, he didn't want to become wasted like his boyfriend. It wasn't until Remus had given him the puppy eyes did he finally take 3 shots of Vodka.
Roman was drinking heavily, almost like he didn't want to remember tonight at all.
Patton and Logan were moderately drunk, not as much as the rest of them, but close. Patton was kissing his boyfriend when Logan pulled away, looking sadly at Patton. "I don't deserve you...I don't think I could ever be good enough for you..." he said quietly as Patton started giggling. "Of course you do, and of course you are, silly. If you weren't...I wouldn't be here even now." He said before pulling Logan into another kiss.
Remus was sitting on Deriens lap, talking about every little thought that flooded his mind and Derien just sat there telling him how amazing he was and how creative he was.
Roman was flirting it up with a guy he thought was hot, only to be rejected for a blond chick with a tramp stamp. "Stupid heteros..." he mumbled out. While walking back to the kitchen.
In the kitchen was Virgil, drinking a beer and swaying back and forth on the countertop. "Roman!" He called out before grabbing Romans hand. "Hey storm cloud~" Roman said softly before allowing himself to be pulled into a kiss by Virgil.
As they kissed, more people got annoyed with them. They were in the way if the beers after all. After the third, "get a room!" They finally listened.
Roman carried Virgil into his room before shutting the door and locking it. They went towards the bed before hearing a scream. It was the tramp stamp and the guy! "Hey! This is my room!" Roman yelled at them to get out before realizing that they were in the middle of something.
They quickly put their clothes back on and left, Virgil began laughing, looking at Roman who was laying over him angrily. "Shut up...just kiss me." He said, Virgil nodded and kissed him again.
It wasn't long before loud moans came out of Romans room, nobody seemed to notice except for Patton, who then whispered something into Logan's ear. This caused Logan to blush and follow Patton to his room.
Derien and Remus were the only pair that slept in different rooms that night. Once everyone had left, the dorm was nearly silent. Minus the noises still coming from Romans room.
~
The next morning was an adventure. Virgil woke up slowly, feeling someone under him, someone warm. He couldn't see properly yet, so he thought he was in his own room. He didn't want to move from his spot until he realized he was naked, and so was the stranger he was laying on. He looked up to see a sleeping Roman.
"Shitshitshitshit" Virgil quietly got up and grabbed his clothes, looking at Roman who slowly started stirring at the loss of heat on his chest, "who's there?" He asked starting to look up.
Virgil froze, while buttoning his pants up. Roman stared at him wide eyed. "What...the...fuck?" Roman asked ever so quietly. Virgil blushed, "look...i can't remember anything...for all we know...we could've just went to sleep!" He said trying to be optimistic.
"Sleeping doesn't make my ass hurt though." Roman stated blankly. Virgil blushed before laughing. "Wait. You're a bottom?! I never would've guessed! Well...i guess I did guess then." He laughed more, falling over onto his back.
Roman sat there, blushing the entire time. "Well you don't seem like much of a top so..." he mumbled. "And yet...you're the one with a pain in the ass, makes sense actually." Virgil said while pausing his laughter.
Roman threw a pillow at him. "Virgil...just Shut up...don't tell anyone.. please?" Virgil looked up at Roman, realizing this was really upsetting for him, "what. Ashamed that it was me and not some dumb jock?" Virgil asked.
Roman sighed, "no...just...i don't want people knowing...its complicated." He said quietly. Virgil was mad. "Why should I keep quiet? Give me one reason or I'll tell the whole school." Virgil was tired of people being ashamed of knowing him...of liking him...of being around him. Roman blushed, he grabbed for Virgils hand, but Virgil pulled away.
"Please Virgil...i promise it has nothing to do with you..." Roman pleaded. Virgil ignored him and pulled out his phone.
Roman grabbed his phone away from him, "Hey!" Virgil called out grabbing at his phone. Roman pulled it away, causing Virgil to fall over, catching himself over Roman.
Virgil blushed before straddling Roman to reach for his phone, which he still wasn't able to reach. Roman grabbed Virgil by the waist with his free hand to keep him from standing up . "Virgil." Virgil looks at Roman, "this has nothing to do with you...i can't remember much of last night...but I do remember one thing very clearly...I...got rejected before going into the kitchen...if people know I slept with you...they would also know I got rejected..." he said softly.
Virgil sighed, "Fine...i won't tell anyone..." he blushed when he realized that he was still straddeling Roman, and that both if them were hard. Roman noticed this too, bringing his other hand down onto Virgils waist. Virgil blushed more as he leaned down slightly, hesitating before kissing Roman.
Roman pulled at Virgils jeans, causing Virgil to slide forward slightly, while on top of Roman.
Virgil took his jeans and boxers off before kissing Romans neck. Roman blushed and let out a small moan.
He lightly pushed Virgil off though. Virgil looked surprised, "sorry...i thou-" he was quieted by a kiss being planted on his lips.
"You thought right, I'm just...adjusting." he said as he sat in Virgils lap. Virgil realized what he was doing and grabbed his waist, pulling him closer. He kissed his lips with a hunger. Roman ran his fingers through Virgils hair as he began kissing Romans neck.
Roman moaned loudly, waking everyone else up. Virgil kissed his lips again to quiet him down. He pulled away whispering into Romans ear, "do you really wanna do this...?" Roman nodded eagerly, "might as well now, so I can actually rememebr it." He replied with a smirk.
By the time breakfast was ready, everyone was making jokes towards Roman and Virgil their only response was, "Shut up..."

Chapter name: 5 years old
Chapters: 1/?
Tw: Child death, Somewhat restraints of a child, burning
Chapter description: Remus is five years old whenever he accidentally kills his best friend
Remus is five years old when he first meets a boy named Logan.
-------------
Remus is normally a pretty emotional kid, and even now, as he looks down upon the still and partially melted and mangled body of his once best friend he is still emotional. The world seems to be spinning around him and no matter what he does he can't seem to will his legs to move. He can't seem to do anything but scream, cry and feel things as he crumbles to the ground, shaking his friend and only making the situation worse by causing, even more, burns on the already scorched corpse. He stays like that for another few minutes before the teachers finally come over and have to drag Remus away as he still kicks and screams. As he gets dragged away he can hear some of his peers whispering but can't make out what they were saying over the noise him his ears and well the whole screaming.
He eventually calms down by the time that he's dragged out to the front of the school, now softly crying still trying to figure out what was happening. He can hear the siren of police and ambulances and while normally he would perk up and try to see them he doesn't even bother to look up, doesn't even bother to open his eyes again instead, he winces and tries to escape again but with the teachers holding his arms in a way that it was nearly impossible for him to move around all that much.
He can hear it turn into the parking lot and stop right in front of them. He felt himself move from the teacher's arms to the backseat and get buckled in. The car started moving and Remus still didn't open his eyes but noticed that the farther from the school he got the noise of sirens seemed to leave as well. How come?
"You're in a lot of trouble bud." The voice of his dad says softly whenever the car stops at a red light he jumps completely not expecting that at all. Sure the second he got in the car he had a suspicion but he didn't think it would've been true or anything.  "Not with the law, at least not right now but with literally everyone...What happened?"
That's when Remus broke down again, he knew his dad knew and was only asking to hear his side but he couldn't take it at the moment, it was already too much and his head was hurting and everything was just Too. Much. He could feel the bubbling in his skin making him full-on scream at the feeling of it, which made his dad swerve slightly but quickly regain control of the weel. .
Remus undergoes the next 10 minutes of the car ride with his dad trying to distract him from the subject at hand, one they'll eventually have to talk about but at the moment Remus couldn't even think about his friend without his emotions spiking up and it causing the acid to leak more onto his hands causing painful blisters.
They should go to the hospital, they should go somewhere with someone who knows what to do but the next thing Remus knows is that he's in the driveway and being picked up and brought inside and laid gently on this bed. His dad is seated on the edge of it and gently applies some sort of burn cream to the area before gently wrapping it in a few gauze bandages before sighing softly and telling Remus to take a nap. And Remus happily agrees, he was tired and just needed to clear his head entirely.
It stays that way for a while, Remus says in his room, his dad comes in to help change the bandages or to bring him something to eat, and then he goes right back to sleep as if he doesn't exist to anyone outside of the room. He can sometimes catch the news from the crack in the door and on a few rare occasions can hear his friend's name and it all comes flooding back to him at once and violently. The screaming, the pleading, the way their glassed-over eyes looked up at him as they laid still on the grass. Every time it happens he throws up a little in his mouth and can feel his hands start to burn to the point that they burn through the bedsheets.
The door doesn't stay open much after that and the news even less.
Somedays his older brother, Roman, will come and sit at the edge of the bed and rant about his day but will mostly just leave whenever Remus doesn't even seem to acknowledge his presence at all but instead curls more under the blanket. But somedays he stays and continues to talk despite the silence o the other end, he understood that Remus wouldn't even try to talk to someone right now but he still wanted him to know that someone was there for him.
After a month Remus is about closer to his old self than he had been this entire time, he's talking a bit more and is even active and leaving his room daily and hanging out with the family. Roman is ecstatic as they go back to playing and while it's not the same, Remus still refuses to use his hand's so Roman fixes the stuff to his wrist or just changes the games completely, it feels as good as it ever did.
Today Roman wanted to hang out with some friends at the park and brought Remus along just to give the kid some fresh air, so that's what they did and the second they got there Remus ran over to a tree he used to climb and sat underneath it getting his lose jeans covered in dirt already despite it not even being a few minutes. His brother rolled his eyes and said a soft stranger danger warning before going off to find his friends. Remus didn't even want to be here so he was content with just making little piles in the dirt while trying to keep the bandages clean.
"Um excuse me, that's my tree!" a soft and nasally voice says which makes Remus look up at a kid who seemed to be around his age. He was wearing a somewhat oversized dark blue sweater and black shorts with rain boots, his glasses didn't even seem to fit him seeing as every second he adjusted them. he was carrying a portable bug-catching kit in the unoccupied hand. "Please move?"
"I was here first!" Remus says quickly with a huff before looking back down and building up a small pile even more. He was still nervous around people, definitely people his age  (One of the main reasons he didn't like going outside). While his mind normally ran in circles when talking to someone, it didn't do it with this kid, it was still clear and he was able to keep control. Plus, why was this kid even talking to him, haven't they seen his face on the news a while ago? Remus was dangerous and everyone in the small town knew it, why didn't this kid seem to care?
The other kid huffed and crossed his arms before sitting right next to Remus and just stared at him for a second before shrugging and going on with his own business of searching for something in the dirt. "What doin'?" The kid asks and Remus turns to face him with a confused look before sighing softly and answering.
"Dirt," Remus says looking back down at his dirt pile and saw Logan picking up ants that were trying to climb into it.
"What with dirt?"
"Pile."
"Why?"
"I really like it it's calming."
"Have you tried to destroy the pile then put back?" Logan asks setting his kit in the dirt right at the base of the tree and starts to help make the pile bigger, still flicking the ants away but letting other insects run right in.
Remus tilts his head in confusion again and shrugs before standing up and kicking the dirt onto the tree with a small smile and even a laugh, it was pretty fun, he'd have to give them credit there. He goes back to sit down and starts to push the dirt into the pile again "Remus, my name" he whispers thinking that it would be best to get his name out there
"I'm Logan" The kid, Logan, says helping to rebuild the pile as well "And I know, Roman talks lot about you. Look like Roman, like a lot."
"You know Roman?" Remus asks confused for the 3rd time in less than an hour.
"He's my older brother's friend...When he come over he talk a lot about you!" Logan says quickly with a nod and Remus almost feels relief flush through him for some reason. Logan stands up quickly and brushes off his shorts "Well calling for me." he says before Remus even hears someone calling for the other.
"Bye!" Remus says with a wide wave and winced slightly when Logan looked at his hand but the other boy just shrugged.
"Bye-bye!" He says before running off.
That wasn't the last time Remus saw Logan though, they met up at the park or at one of there houses, and each day it seemed as if they had gotten closer and closer, and while Remus was still cautious about touching Logan he was happy to at least have another friend to hand out with.
