imagining a scene for my TGCF omegaverse au where O!Mu Qing makes it very clear at the beginning of their (sexual) relationship that he doesn't want children (yet), even discussing abortifacients and that it would be Feng Xin's job as the Alpha to get them, and he and FX go about avoiding it for quite a while, until MQ finds out (after a few years of being together not soon at all) they messed up somewhere and he tells FX trying to gauge his response to it, and FX tells him he'll get the tea as soon as possible, and MQ is hurt and angry at what he sees as a rejection of him and FX is completely confused because it was MQ that said he didn't want children (and hadn't said anything about rethinking this choice). MQ tries to fight but FX refuses to fight back, eventually able to restrain MQ enough to confront him about it and when MQ finally admits he did want to keep it now, FX is thrilled!

Something about MQ getting mad at FX for holding up his end of a deal they made years ago when MQ told him it was what he wanted and assuming nothing has changed... because MQ didn't tell him anything had strikes me as very accurate.

Pro life people need to understand there are woman who would kill themselves if you forced them into giving birth. Do you understand how terrifying bringing a child into the world is? Giving birth is? Comfortable conservatives who have the resources to live life only see a failed mother not a whole person. Woman who had resources, a home, a nursery, will tell literal children that if they do not give birth they are a murderer.

Conservatives will never know this struggle, and if they do they will be rejected by their own community or become a hypocrite by doing the exact thing they say will send you to hell.

Every pro life activist is looking for a reason to hate. It's a very convenient way to push women back into an easily controlled box.

Anyone else just feel like the only one knowing the sky is falling. Like here in the US abortion rights are being taken away, hormones are being taken away, parents are getting arrested for having trans kids, the law to protect Indigenous kids from being put in foster care is on the table to be taken away, and my boss gets mad at me for pointing out Spirit Animal is cultural appropriation. once again i have not gotten enough sleep to be making this post, really it needs me at my more-articulate-than-i-currently-am, but—

have been thinking lately about how divisive rhetoric about 'who will be most affected by this' always is—like. i don't mean there aren't differing degrees of harm and exposure to harm. of course there are. but for every issue i'm on any side of, as someone affected or as someone (nominally) unaffected, it seems clear to me that 'living in a society that enacts [this particular kind of harm] on people around me' is, in fact, a wound to one's humanity, and that framing the situation as though anyone living in it is privileged not merely comparatively, but absolutely, is often erasing the violence of that and shutting down a very real opportunity for solidarity, for saying 'this wound to you is a wound to me too, is a wound to all of us and all of us must battle against it.'

#anyway yeah this is about abortion but it's about a lot of things really #and like—of course i don't mean to say we can't be clear about primary vs collateral damage. #but it just seems like. this weird deference around who's Really wounded ignores the way these things are an offense against us all #and we should all be taking them personally‚ and not saying 'these people will be fine and these other people will be basically fine' #it's a violent world and we're all getting steeped in ambient violence and people's eagerness to whip out rhetoric that actively rejects #the opportunity to create solidarity around that just seems. real crazy 2 me! #like i'm just. it all diminishes me! because i am involved in mankind! #tl;dr Donne Was Right i guess #you heard it here very not first

It’s really funny because due to trauma reasons I am incredibly and inconsolably bitter but I also just inexplicably have a huge love for humanity and a bizarre unshakeable optimism

Like going to be real with you I cannot assure anyone that life will get better or that capitalism will be dismantled or that any of us will survive the climate crisis and I’m in a constant state of agony for what I cannot have but at the same time I somehow have managed to find the silver lining and/or the humor in the most abysmal situations in the goddamn world so this somehow just works out for me
