"MIXED MARRIAGES IN ONTARIO MANY," Windsor Record. October 30, 1913. Page 1. ---- Toronto, Oct. 30. - That the Ne Temere decree is not working out to the absolute stoppage of mixed marriages is shown in the annual report of the registrar-general of the province issued today.
According to the figures, 820 men and 1,096 women married outside their faith.
The number of marriages totalled 28,445. Nearly two-thirds of those married were between 20 and 30 years of age. The unusual marriages included a man of 25, who married a woman over 70 and three women under 30 marrying men over 70.
The province showed a reduced death rate for the year, lower than in many other countries. On the other hand there is the announcement that one of every ten infants in Ontario dies before attaining the fifth year.
The birth-rate was 22.4 per thousand, the lowest since 1902. In 1911 it was 22.6.
Deaths numbered 32,150, or 12.4 per thousand, or 2 lower than in 1911. Illegitimate births showed an increase of 168. Seventy-two per cent. of these births were in cities.
The battle with the white plague showed good progress. There was a total of 2,250 deaths, but this was a decrease of 103 and a decrease in percentage of 05. About seven per cent. of the deaths in Ontario were from tuberculosis. The heaviest death rate from the disease is between 20 and 30 years of age.
One out of every ten infants die before its fifth year. There were 8,230 of such deaths, while 6,494 died before completing 12 months. Two hundred less died from diarr- hoea than in 1911, the lowest in six years.
This was attributed to the greater interest in child welfare and the successful efforts to educate young mo- thers in the care of children.

Sorry I forgot Hanneman suggested Byleth undress after they show up with a different hair color. And I miss Hanneman. And also while swapping between Houses and Hopes and seeing Hanneman pop up to help in a Hopes paralogue is just devastating since he doesn't ever actually join you at all and I am denied my old man rights.
So I had to draw this. Thank you for understanding.
#fe three houses#byleth#hanneman von essar#i like that Byleth just kinda stares at him and he realizes WHAT HE SAID and the implications and is like#step back uh forget that I said that#like man so zoned in on research he blurts that out and has to backtrack mentally to AH socially bad to say that my bad#if i need to tag this as anything lemme know even though it is a conversation in game basically (minus the marriage)#also if you have never married hanneman i genuinely enjoyed his s support and was VERY surprised and hes just#honestly one of my favorites overall in 3h ?? and im still bummed i cant play as him in thropes like thats just mean#also i think if byleth was like oh well if its awkward to see someone undress randomly#then marriage would solve the awkwardness this is truly the best deduction#which is really funny that i can see it happening with both leths despite my hc of them#with fyleth as bi and myleth as ace i think both would just be like AH cool we can avoid awkwardness by marriage#and hanneman just wants to go lie down in a ditch because he said something like that#and and byleth doesnt even know about religion while working at church school they dont know about school regulations#that wasnt really on their mind to check ok just saying you could tell byleth no to something#and then they just go oh school policies i understand unfortunately#and the person is like no we just meant its frowned upon to do archery practice in the tea garden its not technically illegal just dont??

Resistbot continues to innovate for civic engagement. I look forward to seeing more developments like this in the future. Share your thoughts and feedback in the general discussion. Let's make a difference together! 🗳️✨
📱Text APPROVAL to 50409 and earn FREE Coins!
I just tried it out and here's my feedback:
For President Biden, I might vote to reelect him because he took steps to repeal discriminatory policies like the Trans Ban (DADT 2.0). While I appreciate this progress, I hope to see a more critical approach to U.S. support and funding for Israel. Even still, Trump would be worse for Palestine. Vote Blue No Matter Who, until we get Ranked Choice Voting.
For Senator Murkowski, I approve of her reelection because I appreciate Senator Murkowski's dedication to child development and her progressive stance on LGBTQ+ rights. However, I wish she would support stronger gun regulation and prioritize green initiatives more consistently. I'm encouraged by her stance against Trump's policies.
For Senator Sullivan, I strongly oppose Senator Sullivan due to his positions against reproductive rights, transgender rights, and affordable healthcare. Additionally, his denial of climate change, support for gerrymandering, and alignment with extremist views surrounding the January 6 insurrection are deeply concerning. He is an un-American Trump Sucker and I need him out of my chair this instant.
For Rep. Peltola, I approve of her because I appreciate Senator Peltola's support for COVID-19 proposals and her progressive stance on marriage, children, LGBTQ+, and transgender rights. However, I believe there is room for improvement in her support for military service members, veterans, and moderate gun regulation.

Adventures in Emotional Regulation
1. Emotional chaos every day at 10am, no clue why
2. Notice husband's morning music feels like an actual cheese grater on your brain, demand be it turned off. Husband protests. Give up. Continue having random outbursts an hour later.
3. Become aware that outburst is less an outburst and more a reaction to the gradual buildup of cheese grater + other stimuli.
4. Consciously choose to communicate pain in smaller, less destructive ways before outburst happens. ("I need a break from the music, I'm going upstairs for a bit", "my head hurts", rubbing temples, occasional tears*)
*=/= crocodile tears. consciously directing emotional energy away from yelling sometimes results in silent tears.
5. Observe which music is more tolerable (plainchant) vs ouchy (jazz) and occasionally ask to switch playlists.
6. Husband observes music/pain connection for himself, starts asking before turning it on.
7. Communicating about music becomes part of the morning routine. ("You okay for music?" "Sure, I'll let you know if it starts to be too much"/"Yeah but not jazz"/"Can we have quiet today?")
8. Emotional outbursts diminish 90%.
Observations:
-I'm terrified of upsetting people by asking for accommodations (even my husband)
-having brain issues isn't a free pass to control every aspect of household life
-people don't know you're in pain unless you tell them
-consent isn't just for sex
-sometimes it takes six months to notice an issue and six more to fix it

Supreme Court Bracket
Remember that this is a silly Tumblr poll, and these two things are not actually in conflict. So don't get too heated in the notes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Regulations on Greenhouse Gases. In Massachusetts v. EPA, Massachusetts and 11 other states sued the EPA for not regulating carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, saying that contrary to the claims of the EPA at that point in time, greenhouse gases are pollutants. In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the petitioners, forcing the EPA to start placing regulations on greenhouse gases.
Gay Marriage. In Obergefell v. Hodges, the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that the right to marriage is protected for same-sex couples by the Fourteenth Amendment.

current small detail i am obsessing over: thief king’s rings (that i somehow had never really noticed until recently >_<)
#like wow… nice hands you got there… would suck if someone were to try to hold them or something /s#no I’m currently fixating on the fact that he isn’t wearing anything on his ring finger#and like. very complicated thought process but of course my brain goes to the idea of marriage because have you *met* me.#like i still have a few years of schooling left and then i have college and stuff to worry about#marriage can come later because if i’m gonna tie the knot or whatever even with a fictional character i want it to be serious and genuine#but also. just. here i go again being like ‘these characters are different from the other ones i’ve been attached to’#(and they definitely are someway somehow. i don’t know what it is about card games but they’ve changed everything apparently)#because?? honestly??? i didn’t really care much for the idea of marriage. like i was completely chill with the idea of just dating someone-#-and leaving it at that. there wasn’t really anything ‘special’ about marriage to me when i was already satisfied with how things were#it felt more like a hassle than anything lol#but now it’s like… i don’t know. i feel different about it?? like i actually kind of want to get around to that at some point??#i’m not really sure how to explain it#i won’t say it’s the ‘we are now together by law’ only because my f/os are prone to breaking the law (and/or regulations in general)#i just. hmmmm.#maybe it’s for the same reason i didn’t really care about it in the first place#we get to spend the rest of our lives together regardless. so what does it matter if we keep things as they are now-#-or take it to the next level??#i really shouldn’t be worrying about this since again i have a good few years before i need to think about this#but. uh. yeah ignore me#anyway i think the rings look neat#i think most of the things he wears are actually neat if not a little nonfunctional#ex: those weird like?? ring things on his legs??? what even are those#pretty sure those are only shown like once so i guess it doesn’t matter but xP#anyway hi i’m half awake but i’m still vibing#rainy.file#a thief after my own heart

Since I'm already thinking about James Somerton, I might add this to my musings on his videos and the take aways from his errors, lies, omissions, and plagiarism.
He's a great example of the problems that arise when you decide to categorize a minority group into good and bad members of the group instead of focusing on individual bad behaviors and just that--individual. He's also a great example of the same type of behavior the 9-1-1 stans I was talking about earlier love to revel in.
He's white, a cis dude, and gay. He acts like he's uplifting minority voices and speaking for more marginalized groups when in reality he was spreading a lot of hate and using voices of those more marginalized than himself to boost his fame and fortune. There's a lot of misogynist language in his videos. There's also a whole lot of "good gays" talk. While he doesn't go the puritanical route for describing good gays (meaning a gay person who fits into heterosexual norms and thus is less likely to upset the far right), he does still paint a picture of there only being one right way to be queer while deriding those who do fit into heterosexual norms.
Claiming the opposing stance (we're good because we're freaks and they're bad because they pass) is just another tactic that divides the community and causes strife and in-fighting which weakens the whole community and makes it easier for outside forces to oppress and harm the community.
Of all the videos that pissed me off, the one where he claims that all the good gays died in the AIDS crisis was probably the one that made me most feral with anger. I was too young to be active in the queer community during the Act Up years. I was only able to become more active in the community when I got to college in the late 90s. But I watched the news and read and tried to come to terms with being queer while living in the rural deep south (and let me tell you, finding supportive info was hell before the internet). I saw the work people were doing to fight for housing, for employment rights, for fair treatment in all walks of life. It was never just about marriage and joining the military. Honestly 20 year old me didn't think we'd ever see gay marriage legalized in all 50 states. So hearing that blatant lie was infuriating. It was a sign that not only did he not do his research, he deliberately created misinformation to try to radicalize members of the community and get them to hate other members of the community.
The other problem with his stance about the only good gays being the visibly wild and weird ones is that it ignores the realities that a lot of LGBTQUIA+ folks face. I tried hard to pass, and failed spectacularly especially in middle school where I was severely bullied for looking like a boy and being to masculine and possibly being gay. I did eventually get better at passing as a protective measure.
When I officially came out in college, my cousin thought I was brave as hell, but kind of insane. Not because it was wrong, but because it literally put my life in danger. My college was a small private liberal arts college but was still located in a very red, very conservative state and city. I ended up helping start the college's first gay-straight alliance group (and as far as I know it's still an active group on campus). People were afraid to come because they didn't want to become targets. We had our flyers torn down and some of us had our cars keyed. Thankfully I don't recall us having any violence to people just a whole lot of microaggressions on campus.
A few years after college, I joined the Peace Corps and was told point blank that the country I would be serving in was very homophobic and it would be best if I stayed closeted while there for my own safety. There are lots of people in many US states who still face the choice of being closeted or being victims of violence and for those who simply cannot pass it is a terrifying world to live in. Instead of dividing it into good and bad camps of who can pass and who cannot, it's a lot more effective if both groups stand together and work for change. We are so much stronger when we join forces and stand in solidarity. Calling out those who are afraid to come out, or who feel like they only way to live safely is to pass, isn't an effective way to create change. Just like alienating those who cannot pass or choose not to is not an effective way to create change.
Neither extreme take is fair to the other group. And these sorts of takes tend to result in a sort of "I got mine, and you can go die" mentality. We shouldn't be leaving any member to the hatred and abuse of oppressors. And for those who join our oppressors in hopes of sparing themselves...well, we should pity them because in the end they will find that once the other scapegoats have been slaughtered they will be the ones on the chopping block.
TLDR; Misinformation and framing things in a way to fracture oppressed minority groups even farther is one of the things we all need to be wary of when we're taking information in. Because in the end it only ends up hurting the entire group.

Conflict Resolution: Transform Your Conflict Cycle
Most couples struggle with conflict resolution. They may call it communication, anger issues, conflict avoidance, contempt, manipulation, narcissism, trauma response, triggers, etc., but we are often talking about conflict resolution. “What is conflict? Conflict is a normal part of any healthy relationship. After all, two people can’t be expected to agree on everything, all the time. The key is…

Numbers 36: God Tell Moses That Zelohehad's Daughters Must Marry In Their Tribal Clan
1 The family heads of the clan of Gilead son of Makir, the son of Manasseh, who were from the clans of the descendants of Joseph, came and spoke before Moses and the leaders, the heads of the Israelite families.
2 They said, “When the Lord commanded my lord to give the land as an inheritance to the Israelites by lot, he ordered you to give the inheritance of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters.
3 Now suppose they marry men from other Israelite tribes; then their inheritance will be taken from our ancestral inheritance and added to that of the tribe they marry into. And so part of the inheritance allotted to us will be taken away.
4 When the Year of Jubilee for the Israelites comes, their inheritance will be added to that of the tribe into which they marry, and their property will be taken from the tribal inheritance of our ancestors.”
5 Then at the Lord’s command Moses gave this order to the Israelites: “What the tribe of the descendants of Joseph is saying is right.
6 This is what the Lord commands for Zelophehad’s daughters: They may marry anyone they please as long as they marry within their father’s tribal clan.
7 No inheritance in Israel is to pass from one tribe to another, for every Israelite shall keep the tribal inheritance of their ancestors.
8 Every daughter who inherits land in any Israelite tribe must marry someone in her father’s tribal clan, so that every Israelite will possess the inheritance of their ancestors.
9 No inheritance may pass from one tribe to another, for each Israelite tribe is to keep the land it inherits.”
10 So Zelophehad’s daughters did as the Lord commanded Moses.
11 Zelophehad’s daughters—Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milkah and Noah—married their cousins on their father’s side.
12 They married within the clans of the descendants of Manasseh son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in their father’s tribe and clan.
13 These are the commands and regulations the Lord gave through Moses to the Israelites on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho.

Fun fact 89: in American politics, Liberal refers to the group of people that believes the government should be heavily involved in people’s daily lives. Conservative refers to the group of people that believes the government should not. For example, both gun-banning and book-banning are Liberal. Gay marriage is conservative.
