Los dos primeros te permiten dirigir y detener la balsa a fin de que puedas atracar de manera segura en las islas para explorar. Allí hallarás plantas silvestres como melones y piñas que puedes comer, como montones de recursos dejados por otros supervivientes. El transmisor de radio te permite desentrañar la historia de la balsa, llevándote a islas más grandes y complejas y revelando poquito a poco las causas del Armagedón húmedo de la balsa. Hay muchas cosas que agradan de La Balsa. No solo es renovador desde el punto de vista mecánico, sino la balsa equilibra de forma perfecta el reto. Siempre hay algo que hacer, mas jamás te sientes apabullado, y el tiburón es suficientemente amenazante para sostener al jugador alarma sin agobiarlo. La única queja real es que Raft no es tan entretenido como otros juegos de supervivencia. La fluctuación del movimiento y la espontaneidad de la interacción no son muy satisfactorias y hacen que el acto de construir y navegar sea un poco plano.
