Things in Wano to never get over (in no particular order):
“Oden isn’t oden if it isn’t boiled!”
JOY BOY
AND THE ANCIENT HUMAN HUMAN FRUIT: NIKA
And Gear 5th
Tama, just everything about Tama
“Thank You I want to see you Daddy”
Baby Gramps Chopper (and his old person phrases)
“If you are going to make broad statements about other people’s history, {epic punch to the face} you’d better not be half-assed about it!”
BUGGY!!!?!!!?!!
Chapter 1053 in general
Injured Zoro being abandoned by Law with Sanji left to wrap him up like a cross
Said ‘Moss Mummy’ breaking out
“It’s time for the stars to take center stage” [Marco after he had more than enough]
KING IS HOT. like hotter-than-the-fire-on-his-back hot.
Usopp’s frog
Zunesha
Yamato being Oden and taking a stand with “We die together” — 100% the Dad Momo needs
“Winner: Kaido”
DINOSAURS DO NOT WORK LIKE THAT AT ALL!
Jinbei’s return!!!
Zeus: can I be your servant again??? Nami:No!—We can be partners instead! Zeus: *heart eyes*
Nami refusing to believe Luffy’s defeated
Never gonna forgive Oda for making me think Sanji had an identity crisis (even if it gave Zoro the motivation to return from Hell)
Ace made all of Luffy’s Wano friends first (okay so Tama and Yamato but still)
Yamato’s Devil Fruit form
Sanji and Zoro’s fight with King and Queen. It’s more than a moment, but there’s just too many great points to pick between—the Wings at full strength!
Demon Robin! [and half-clone flower arms Robin too]
Momo flying back to Onigashima with his eyes closed and crashing thru the place
Everyone’s reaction to Dragon Momo
Franky: “oops did I run over something?” Yes! it was Big Mom
Jinbei and Robin rolling Big Mom
Heart and Kid Pirates protecting their captains after Kaido crashes through the skull dome
They actually killed a couple of Oden’s peeps, tho they died in very honorable ways and I don’t think it could’ve been written better
But I’m glad Kin survived to see his wife again (she deserves it)
The stink faces (u know)
‘Mature Woman’ TM
Luffy gets a sword but still punches people-now just with a sword in his hand
Toko (and the whole village) forced to laugh over her fathers death
Momo’s aged up Dragon!!!
MADS is a science thing, to go with SAD and SMILE (I am sensing a theme)
Brook getting on Franky’s motorcycle
Yamato’s Momo doll
“What kind of World do you want to make?”
Tama, yes again because she deserves it, and Toko too
Usopp and Nami trying to not die
Terrified Nami taking a stand
HOLD YOUR TOUNGE YOU MISERABLE WRETCH. I AM KOZUKI HYORIA. Followed by her role in killing Orochi.
Rob Lucci being ordered to bring in Nico Robin again
And also being told that Luffy is a more important Target
Somehow the majority of Beast Pirates were unaware that Yamato was on Luffy’s side ?
Enma has some Attitude*
Haki use for Luffy and Zoro (and Beast Hunter Usopp)
Sanji asking Robin to save him <3
The way Kid and Law ended the fight and got rid of Big Mom
Yet another hungry person has accidentally eaten a Devil Fruit (it’s officially a pattern now)
Baby Buggy got sick and missed the final island-so Shanks stayed back too!
BABY SHANKS AND BABY BUGGY (and maybe baby marco also)
Baby Yamato!!!
“I’m…nobody important.” That guy, that whole flashback—I need more
Soba Mask! (that’s what you’re going with?)
Franky had to put up with a Manager so he could try to steal some plans. The man has no retail experience guys.
The betrayals/secret identities/spies—ALL THE WAY TO THE LAST CHAPTER NO LESS
THE CP0 AGENT INTERFERING IN THE LUFFY V KAIDO FIGHT RIGHT AT THE (1st) END
All the character parallels and role-swaps
Killer’s crazy laughter (and Kid’s loyalty)
Olinlin!
Luffy and Kid competing in the Prison
How everyone in the Flower Capitol thinks seeing Komurasaki’s ghost is 100% the most plausible explanation
Hawkins read HIS OWN cards
Chopper and his adorable mushroom cloud!
Kinemon’s fart speak returns!
Zeus in Nami’s climate-thing
Prisoners: *colorblind?* Ah!! Kaido! dragon!Momo: Do not be alarmed I am not Kaido! Like he’s some sort of biblical Angel.
Luffy and Zoro unable to stay incognito for 5 minutes-and less when reunited
Big Mom officially joining the fight against Kid and Law by sucking up a bunch of Beast Pirate soul to grow even larger
KOBY being Drake’s connection back to the Navy
Who’s Who’s connection to Gumo Gumo No Mi (and thus Shanks) (and Nika)
All the content about Kaido respecting Yamato’s gender identity (but not his Oden obsession)
And that Oda said “Trans Rights” during Pride
Queen is a Cyborg???!!!!
Yasui eating the SMILE because Toko had
All the world-building information that dropped because of the Devil Fruit discussions and flashbacks which has lead to my over analyzing of WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?!?!—you know, in general~~
“And He Laughed” ch 967
The Germa cover story was pretty entertaining too
And finally: WE STILL DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AT MARY GEOISE
and I’m sure there will be some more parting details just after the hiatus but I'm pretty sure the arc is technically over now yes??

The way certain parts of the English One Piece fandom treat Yamato is hilariously reflective of their regressive views irl + (end of Wano manga content) why Oda kind of messed up with the bathhouse scene.
All these fights over pronouns, not even acknowledging the character's psyche itself, to further their own ideology. Just like how TRAs (especially agp males) use vulnerable girls to further their own ideology without even acknowledging the girls themselves having either mental health problems, autism, past abuse/trauma, internalized homophobia, normal discomfort with puberty, gnc behaviour, etc. They love using woc and infertile women as shields too it’s disgusting.
Yamato is female and idolizes Oden. Yamato wants to BE Oden, she even claims she IS Oden, but that doesn’t mean she’s “trans masc”, you can headcanons that sure but the thing is, oden was free, but Yamato is shackled to an island with bomb-cuffs by her own father who definitely wanted a boy and not a girl, she is kaidos daughter who was beaten, starved, and just abused to the point where she’s now in full-time cosplay being someone else to escape her reality and who she is. It’s sad. Why do tras want to take this strong female character away from women and girls? The patriarchy is crazy!!
It’s also completely detached from the reality of Japanese culture as well as the female sex in general. These people love to whitewash anime with their privileged, luxury beliefs. Yes, gender ideology is the epitome of white feminism. These Colonizers bro.
It might be surprising for some weebs but Japan is not a paradise. It’s imperfect like everywhere else in the world. The misogyny there is insane! Sexism/Traditional gender roles persist there. They even have women-only train cars because of how common groping/SA is.
Also, homosexuality and cross-dressing aren’t completely shunned there, it’s historically documented and all that. Same-sex marriage isn’t allowed in some places there and whatnot but at least they aren’t slaughtered and ostracized.
Anyway, this is where Oda’s choice to put a male in a female bathhouse comes in. Kiku is male, and Yamato is female. Kiku bathed with males his whole life. At the end of wano yamato bathes with males and kiku bathes with females. Of course, this case is unique because it’s not a public bathhouse and Nami and them know and trust Kiku and consent to his presence being there in the bath with him (a male bathing in front of women and children 💀 at least Hes not a bad person and covered himself with a towel. He’s an effeminate male/apparently a “woman at heart” which is a Japanese saying yet he acknowledges that he’s male and will never be a woman, actually, it’s kinda ironic how they ascribe womanhood being a feeling of femininity/conforming to regressive sexist gender roles because it’s really telling and fits in/suits the regressive nature of gender ideology), but the message it sends the English fandom is completely identity-politics related.
At least in the case of Yamato, she is treated and seen like a girl by characters like Sanji and Brook (nosebleed etc, not that it's good she's sexualized) and Luffy/zoro don't care.
Why do the English fandoms of anime love putting identity politics in everything? It’s so annoying… But anyway,
Males shouldn’t be in female spaces, and men (adult human males) cannot become women (adult human females) this shouldn’t have to be said, especially in public female spaces for the sake of safeguarding women and girls. Female-only spaces are statistically necessary! And as a WOC who was abused by males in every possible way since early childhood (read my pinned post where I put my article), it honestly actually broke my heart how Oda put a male in the bath and it got celebrated by the homophobic misogynists that are TRAs and even the fellow teen girls captured by this cult. It's not Oda's fault,, he's a product of his culture and times and it's not his fault how his audience interprets his work.
Anyway, Oda did at least show Yamato is female so many times in the manga, vivre cards, and even in the recent colour spread where he put Yamato in the girls-only colour spread and left out kiku. The meltdown over that was funny.
Well, at least the people who like to headcanon characters as trans have this. I wish they’d leave us alone tho. Unlike most transwomen (who resemble the crossdressers in Ivankovs kingdom/Kamabakka queendom in appearance and behaviour), kiku actually “passes”/LOOKS like a woman character. Also, I love Kiku's eyes so much that every time I draw from the day of his introduction I always add something like those little zigzags to eyes. He is such a cool character! I kinda wanna draw them both again. Rant over ig, see you next time ❤️

Thinking about the roles of the Straw Hats/alliance and the Akazaya during the raid. I jump around from thought to thought a lot.
The Akazaya spent the past 20 years sparing no effort to ensure that the raid would come together. Punk Hazard, Zou, and Acts 1 & 2 of Wano are largely about exactly this, the Straw Hats understand that and are okay with taking a backseat and assisting the Akazaya however they can.
When Act 3 roles around, all of the Akazaya face opponents they have reason to hold a grudge against, doing some damage to Kaido and defeating Orochi, Kanjuro, Fukurokuju, Jack, and Perospero. All fights are given a relatively smaller amount of panels, very efficient with no wasted effort. Kin’emon didn’t wish for war though was prepared for it.
Denjiro brings up an interesting point when he asks Sasaki if the triceratops man is familiar with the history of Wano. Sasaki later explains that he doesn't care about the country’s history and is mainly focused on a personal grudge, the thing that lead to Ulti, Carrot, Oden in the past, and Luffy in Act 1 all being defeated. The lack of care about the country's history is something I take as likely true for most, if not all, of the Tobi Roppo. Over the course of the battle, the Straw Hats will go on to form various reasons to want to defeat the group, being for the sake of protecting others, being the Akazaya/Tama, if I remember.
I read Denjiro in his scene with Sasaki as him being uninterested in spending valuable time on an opponent who is ignorant to Wano's history. It's why I think the Tobi Roppo were the Straw Hats' opponents, not the Akazaya'.
For Perospero, the Minks are extremely loyal to each other and their allies, Neko wanting to defeat Perospero makes a lot of sense, despite only learning of Pedro's death during the battle. It's a nice contrast to Dog's staying behind to stop Jack, not out of vengeance but to keep him from creating new victims.
Also, I believe it was King that said the Tobi Roppo would be no match for the Akazaya, even whilst heavily injured. King acknowledges the abilities of Wano’s samurai.
King and Queen were involved in the assault on Oden castle 20 years prior so the Akazaya getting a hit or two on them would have been cool to see, though at that point most of the Akazaya had either already won their main matchup or gone down defending others.
In Kiku's case, her battles are more ideological though also involve a personal grudge. Not too different from Jinbei’s conflict with Arlong. From Kiku’s perspective, it had also only been a few months since Oden's death. After everything she'd been through, her still having such a loving heart makes her one of the most amazing characters in the series on that alone.
Phoenix man Marco recognized that, at that point during the raid, it was the Straw Hats' time to shine. The alliance formed by the Akazaya helped get them this far and many of its members stepped into support roles from then on. The major remaining opponents fell to members of the Straw Hats+Kidd and Law. It was thanks to the help of the alliance handling the fire, Big Mom's rampage, protecting or tending to the injured, stopping Onigashima, etc. that Luffy was able to uphold his promise to defeat Kaido and make Wano a place where people can eat as much as they want.
The Akazaya are the brain, the Straw Hats and Supernovas are the muscle, and the Minks are great all around support. Only because the groups worked together were they able to defeat the Beast Pirates.
As strong as Kaido and his crew are, their downfall was that they don't care that there is no "I" in team. Except like Ulti and Page One, their defeats having been mostly at the hands of someone who was a part of their own alliance.

Hii! Could you post a couple thoughts/theories once you’ve read the new chapter? 💜
Sure! ONE PIECE 1056
Tumblr media
Once again, we spent waaay too much time with the Scabbards, though I didn't dislike this particular moment I have to admit.
(I have mixed feelings about Wano and the screentime dedicated to the Scabbards, together with how they were handled, it's one of the reasons).
Having said that, I liked the Kin'emon/Tsuru moment and Raizo's funny comment ALTHOUGH his newly-discovered back story kinda sheds a bitter light on it.
Thank god Sukiyaki revealed himself to Momo e Hyori. Kin'emon's gag of not realizing shit is still funny. 😂
Tumblr media
Carrot being the new ruler of Zou is... complicated. I think I see what they're doing: they're fully entrusting the new era to the new generation (something that our leading class should do in the real world too, but that's never gonna happen), with all the risks that come with it. And in order to counter those risks, they do have wiser, stronger and more experienced characters supporting the freshly appointed ruler. At first I was like "wtf??" but then it clicked. So I don't mind it.
Tumblr media
The captain trio moments were always my favorite throughout the arc, and this one is gold. I adore these three, the banter, the dynamics, everything. I'm gonna miss them.
I LOVED that Law gave Kid a copy of the etching. In case you didn't notice before, this man is a king posing as a tsundere.
Dear Oda... why wouldn't you tell us how Kid and Killer even know about the Road Polneglyphs? Who was the Sweet Commander that Kid defeated? Will Killer be laughing forever? Any insights on my fav characters please??? (no? another 200 panels on the scabbards? okay...) (I'm guessing Cracker now for the SC btw)
The Cross Guild obviously took me by surprise and I'm as excited as the rest of the fandom to discover how/when/why/what 😩 I love all those characters, so I can't wait for more.
Some people are saying Kid is going to Elbaf, so we should see him again very soon? 👀
I'm hyped for Yamato joining the SH, but this dragging for the final confirmation is getting real old.
Hope you're satisfied, feel free to ask for anything more! :D

Great Shogun of Wano! His Name is Momonosuke Kozuki!
I've been waiting for this moment for such a long time, and it was all worth it! Oda outdid himself once again! If you're not reading or watching One Piece right now, you are missing out! #OnePiece1051 #OnePiece #Onepiece #One #Piece #ShonenJump
One Piece Chapter 1051 Review/Recap This is the moment that we’ve been waiting for since learned the truth about Momonosuke in the Zou Arc. All the hard work, training, and sacrifice had led up to this moment. The Beast Pirates have Fallen, Orochi’s possibly dead, and Kaido and Big Mom are trapped in a pool of magma. All of Wano gathers to hear that their nightmare is over. Now begins the dawn…

Holding nothing back for this one. Giving a heads up now, it's a long post. Okiku in particular has been through a tremendous amount of hardships in her time as a retainer, no two ways about it. If the plan is to show her learning to care about her own feelings long term, the sooner the better. If Momo is going to be a great leader, he should have reasonably begun to realize how difficult Kiku's life, and all of the Scabbards’ lives, have been. Guidance from Luffy and Yams certainly helped him on that front.
While Momo makes their decision about himself, I could see him starting to catch on as early as when the Scabbards attempted to reach Onigashima in that tiny rowboat, possibly even in Udon. Momo picked up on it more and more by the time he read his father's journal and again from when he saw Kin and Kiku being wounded by someone they all used to trust.
That in mind, Miss Lingering Snow becoming a Straw Hat and being friends with them has become an excellent potential path for her. Her bonds with the Scabbards, Tsuru, Shinobu, and the Kozuki siblings are very important and valuable to her and nothing that follows is meant to discredit her love of or her connections with them. However, I can't help but see that her relationship with each of them comes with some factor, some sticking point, that shows her as being separate from them in various ways that I feel are worth thinking on.
Starting with her brother, the bond between them remained just as strong in their time apart though Izo was swept up in Oden’s escape from Wano and was away for a long time, leaving Kiku without answers for years. The Scabbards that didn't travel through time all lived their own lives for 20 years, while Kiku was sent to the future.
For those sent forward with her, while it was essential that they did, they left Kiku in Wano to search for allies. For months, she was unable to see any of the Scabbards and had no way of knowing how or when they would again. Once Kin'emon did return, Kiku was overjoyed to see him, though remembering how guarded she can be when it comes to showing weakness, I feel it’s likely that she was hiding the full extent of the hurt she felt over him leaving behind a cutesy facade.
Tumblr media
Looking at her circle of friends outside of the Scabbards, there being something that separates them is true for them too. Tsuru and Kiku lived together for at least part of the time Kin and Raizo were away. Now that Kin has reunited with Tsuru, the couple share the closest relationship with the other.
With Shinobu, she has also lived her own life, apart from the Scabbards for 20 years.
Hiyori and Momo are royalty, no matter how good of terms Kiku is on with them, there will always be a separation in position between them.
The Straw Hats are all the same ages as when she met them. Before Kiku reunited with Kin'emon in Act 1, she had already begun to trust Luffytaro and Zorojuro and they stuck with her for nearly the entire act. The reasons the three separated being that Zoro got lost big time as he does, Luffy decided to go after Kaido, and Kiku went to help Kin’emon, then the group in the sinkhole.
Tumblr media
Near the end of Act 1, Kiku looked to be enamored by Chopperemon's cuteness and had met more than half the crew, where she had only reunited with Kin, Momo, and Shinobu of her Wano connections.
Kiku spent most of Act 2 getting to know Chopper well and furthered her bond with Luffy, only separating at the end of the Act to prepare to head out for the shore. By Act 2′s conclusion, she had met every member of the Straw Hats in Wano at the time. Neko and Izo had yet to appear at this point and she would learn about Jinbei, soon before those two would arrive.
Once at the shore, Kiku had somewhat of an argument with Kin and began doubting his leadership. Izo later telling her to focus on her survival and to believe in Luffy comes to mind.
Tumblr media
For some of the Straw Hats, we don't need to have seen them interacting with Kiku to know that they've grown to care about her. A great example is Robin showing a strong concern upon seeing Kiku's arm, in spite of the two not having shared any big scenes together prior. Those few days, near the end of Act 2, the Straw Hats and Scabbards spent preparing together passed by quickly though are shown to have deepened the bond between the two groups through scenes like Robin and Zoro reacting to Okiku’s arm.
Tumblr media
Later, Sanji decides to go help the Scabbards after learning of their defeat by Kaido. Soon after that, he finds out that Momo is in danger as well and struggles to decide where to go, putting those two courses of action as being of equal importance for him and the readers. He's able to make a decision once Izo and Kawamatsu arrive to tell him that Kin'emon is going to help Momo.
Most recently, Kiku seemingly chose to separate herself from the Scabbards by not being present in the fight against Ryokugyu. A curious absence considering she was very close by when the fight happened. I hope she was enjoying the festival with those who were there! I don't mind not seeing her at the shrine with Kin and Kawamatsu. Everyone has their own ways of grieving and Kiku's reasons for not being there are her business and hers alone. How she feels about Izo and Ashura can be given attention later, if she decides she’s comfortable sharing her feelings with the others/the readers.
Saved the big one for the end, both Kin and Izo trusted Kiku's life to members of our main cast, and while he struggled, Usopp did get her and Kin to safety gosh dang-it!
Luffy, Zoro and twirly brow bested the toughest Beast Pirates(sorry Robin, you're amazing and I love you but you got it wrong, Zoro and Nami are the wings of the future Pirate King in my heart. Romance Dawn trio > Monster trio any day of the week) though the duo of Nami and Usopp are the low key MVPs of the battle, apart from the Scabbards naturally. Usopp told her it's okay to choose a way of life other than dying as a samurai. As Brook said back in Whole Cake Island, what kind of fool includes their own death as a part of their plan?
Tumblr media
*addition from future me* Being a part of the same group as her, Kin'emon fills in for Kiku as the not fully committed member of the Straw Hats(same idea as Nami & Robin before they fully committed themselves to the crew,) until they meet Kiku in person and she progresses the role. The mysteries brought up around her during Wano’s finale feel reminiscent to Nami/Robin when they fled with the Merry/left with CP9. I'm thinking something along those lines.
Something all Straw Hat recruits have in common is that they’ve come to terms with and parted from their old way of life, before freely accepting a new one. In all but seeing the follow up to her scenes with Usopp and Izo, and her not having been given the title by the story(yet I hope,) Kiku feels like a member of the Straw Hats as far as I'm concerned.
Thank you for reading. :)
