Rarely do I make what can be categorized as the “best” decisions, but I do try to make the next “right” one as often as I can. I used to get so frustrated by “do the next right thing” because if I knew what the right thing was I wouldn’t struggle so often. Finally I realized that typically I know what the wrong thing is, so if I’m unsure of the right thing is, as long as I just don’t do the wrong thing… I’m making progress. We are choosing to celebrate those who celebrate us. Life is short, we cut our losses and move on. Part of your wellness journey should be to protect your peace, prioritize your wellbeing, guard your mental health and choose yourself regardless. Some times life happens and people happen. Sometimes we make mistakes and get too hard on ourselves. Be gentle with yourself in this process. But recognize when people's chapters in your life have closed. Use that energy and lesson to propel yourself to the next level. It's called growth. Never stop learning and never stop growing. We are not perfect and never will be.We love being imperfectly perfect. We can't control some of the things that happen to us and around us. But we can control how we respond. We choose to smile ,be faithful and keep speaking into existence our hopes and desires. So inspite of...we'll get up, dress up and show up! How you carry yourself, dress yourself in most cases is representation of how you feel on the inside. The devil will always attack but let's not give him ammunition. So inspite of...we'll get up, dress up and show up with a big smile and our heads held up high! The wellness journey is a continuous process. Choose you and your sanity. Do not run from yourself. If you feel things deeply, if the world has weathered you, if you are going through something that is uncomfortable or painful, or hard-you often have to decide between allowing yourself to dive into those emotions, or allowing yourself to numb them. And, a lot of human beings choose to numb their experience of the world. A lot of human beings tell themselves that it is all too much, that is all too inconvenient, to deal with the depth of their circumstance. And it is often not their fault. In a world that has given us so many ways to kill our pain through television, or prescriptions, or the sensationalizing of being cool and favorable over being inquisitive, and authentic, it is almost a subconscious thing we do. We try to protect ourselves from pain, but if I have learned one thing this year, it is that pain demands to be felt. It will show up in other ways if we do not deal with it. So, the greatest thing you can do when you are dealing with pain, or hardship, or change, or opposition - is to feel it. Please, do not run from your feeling. Run towards it. Run within yourself. Meditate. Get to know your mind, your heart, your soul. Trace your fingers over your wounds. Get to know the parts of yourself that you have hidden from the light. The book called love A quest for purpose I set on a journey A journey into the unknown Shuddered by the fear of debacle, I was agonized by the sound of self-doubt It symphonized like the sound of air Bleating like a drum A drum of despair Reverting within the very ounce of my being I no longer found anything fulfilling There were days when I didn’t want to wake up Where I wanted the nights to last forever There was no joy in any of my endeavors The sky though blue looked like a black cloud I wished to rain like a storm every day To pour the ocean out Everything just turned into a shade of grey The color of hopelessness hoped for a permanent stay. Life is like a color pallet. Every color in the pallet has a different story to tell A different picture to paint And in life, every day has a different color to color us with Happiness paints us with a moment of sunshine Sadness leaves with grim and whine. But often we forget that we are the painters of our life The masters of this strife.
