#reblog shit

This is your early morning PSA to support artists. And I don’t mean only monetarily. I mean reblog shit. Ramble in the tags how much you like it if so compelled. But artists will only continue posting while there is support.
And I want to make it entirely clear that I do mean post. Because what is gonna happen is that they will continue to create, but it will just be shown to their friends that they made within the community. If you want to continue to see things from an artist, tell them as much. We have seen fandoms and communities die, because there was no more support for the artists that are the backbone for them.
Reblog your favorite fanfics. Reblog your favorite artists. Write them a nice comment. Tell them how you like their art style or how they write a certain character. Artists will continue to create because we continue to enjoy it. We continue share it because we want to spread something we’re proud of and we think others will to.
I’ve seen too many of my artist friends recently saying it’s not worth it to post anymore because there’s no point. No one acknowledges it. Yet I continue to see it before they post and support them. So they privatize their audience.
Support artists if you want them to stick around. For fuck’s sake.

I want to see how crazy this community of mutuals, friends, anons, followers, and more can get over one story.
So here how this goes:
1. Reblog then put in one story line
2. @ one person to conutine the next line
That's it. It's that easy. With that being said.. let's give this a go, guys.. I'll go first.
There was once a man driving in his car.

"You're not obligated to reblog anything."
Okay, but what does this even mean? Like, yeah, of course you're not obligated to reblog anything in the literal sense. The cops aren't gonna bust down your door and arrest you if you don't. No one has a gun to your head. You are correct! Just like how you're also not obligated to be kind to strangers, or to close the refrigerator door after use. You're not obligated by law and nature to do most stuff that we in society consider common courtesy. You can indeed be a nuisance without detrimental repercussions. But is that really the argument y'all are making here? Because people already know this. What the rest of us are talking about is community responsibility. We're talking about what you owe your neighbour. We're talking about giving what you can, not all that you have. We're talking about the literal function of this website and how it was created to be used. We're just talking about basic respect. Reblog what you like and pass it along to the next person. How is that not some sort of social obligation?

mild rant incoming, be warned.
i cannot. fucking. believe it. why do people keep treating this site like it's Instagram. I've been actually ON Tumblr for, what? two months? and I am already pissed at how the likes almost always outweigh the reblogs on a post!!!!! idk if you noticed but likes don't fucking do shit. they don't circulate posts which means that if you keep only liking posts and not rbing them, then this site will fucking die. you will not have more content if you don't reblog shit.
likes are a bookmark for yourself and a mild serotonin boost of op. that is it.

I'm completely frustrated. How does this make it okay?
Tumblr media
Side blogs! Reblog your TBR on a sideblog! No one has to follow it. I've seen several people in my notifs that they've reblogged it to be read later. Some of them were on a tbr side blog. That works soo much better than taking the fucking time to copy and paste a whole ass fic with all of its parts (not just mine but others as well) into a collection that gets views and comments that ORIGINAL AUTHORS DONT GET TO SEE.
Reading lists and bookmarks also help too! Different sites have different methods of making it easier to find fics you wish to read at a later time.
Can we just STOP reposting others' works when they specifically asked you not to?
I'm really close to saying fuck it all and just deleting everything 🙃

I really appreciate the fact that some of my writings have been read recently and have gotten a few likes but what do you not understand of "If you like my works please reblog them?"

why do people join tumblr, a social media site (kinda), when they blatantly don't want to socialise or interact with others

The only reason I don't have "likes" filtered out of my activity feeds is because, what if the op of a post likes my reblog for my tags. Who am I to disturb this part of the tumblr ecosystem?

I’m frustrated and I’m feeling let down.
So many people reblog these posts about how reblogging is so much more important and meaningful than likes and........they don’t actually do it. I get 6 likes here, 3 there...I know my posts aren’t popular and my writing is mediocre, but if you like something why not reblog it?
I write random posts and get likes, and no one reblogs them.
I write and few people like it and don’t reblog it. That doesn’t feel like an accomplishment. Like....it’s good, but not good enough to share.
I’m frustrated.
I feel like my random posts and my writing, that I put thought and effort into, aren’t good. Aren’t good enough.
Because, see, when my mutuals write something I’m not into or don’t have the brain to read, I want to like it to show support. I will sometimes reblog it to show support. But I don’t like it. Because likes are stupid. They don’t do anything. And if they disappoint me, I’m not gonna disappoint someone else by doing the same thing. So how do I know someone has actually read it and enjoyed it when they like it? Are they just liking out of support? I don’t know.
Because reblogging is what makes me feel like what I created, even some stupid shitpost, is appreciated.
I know my fandom is dead. I’ve accepted this. I don’t like it, but it’s what it is. So why can’t I get support from the small number of people who are left? Why is what I post not quite good enough?
Reblogging really is important. Just like all those posts say.
I don’t think anyone should reblog those posts if they aren’t gonna actually act on it.
I’m frustrated.

I am genuinely so worried for all the young horny dykes going into adulthood thinking there's something "problematic" / "wrong" with them for being horny because fucking tiktok lesbians think any horny dyke content is "male gaze fetishitic"

I have a thing to get to but had to get this out real quick
EDIT:
okay back from the thing
-it doesn't actually have to be a negative emotion, I have trouble-causing maladaptive responses to positive ones too
-maladaptive responses usually served the purpose of keeping you safe in a tough situation, or were the only response modeled for you, or both, so they're not Inherently Bad they're just not useful in the context of a healthy relationship
-this is a useful thing to keep in mind if you have a bad track record with relationships and therefore come up against a lot of thoughts like "no one likes the real me/my real feelings" and "I am unloveable". it's not your self or your natural feelings that are the issue, it's the way you've learned to behave in response to them (again, because you had to or you don't know any other way!). which sucks, but the good news is you can unlearn those things and practice new behaviors.
