Headcanons

Johnny is pretty morally gray, doing what's best for him and those he's loyal to rather than having a true agenda beyond being a pirate. He can either be the best or worst person you've met depending on your relationship with him.

That being said, he can be a pretty big asshole when he doesn't know you. He's respectful to women and children, though.

If you beat him up, however, he'll be the most loyal friend you could ever have.

He'll never go against his honor code, even if it seems to be to his detriment. It's the core of his character, and something he deeply cares about.

He has a reputation, and most are afraid of him because of that. Most of the time, he likes it that way.

Johnny hasn't had the best life out there, but he could certainly give advice to his friends who are struggling. He's often seen as a pillar of wisdom to his crew.

He isn't actually a shark, but a ghost that inhabits the skin of a shark. The ghost of a captain that went down with his ship.

He likes coveting valuable items.

He loves to get into a good brawl. He'd probably be most likely to start a bar fight.

Johnny is also pretty straight forward with his feelings and will likely tell you how it is, even if it hurts your feelings. The truth might hurt, but it also teaches growth.

Johnny was a wandering spirit who, picked up a bunch of misguided hooligans and gave them structure. In order to fit in, he donned his shark facade. His crew know there's something strange and special about him, but they don't question it...not to his face anyway. They accept him cracks, flaws, and all, because he did the same for them.

Johnny has 100% killed people. His trident is designed to stab you and spin around in your body, scrambling your insides. I can see why the residents of seaside town find hm horrifying.
