trans people in iowa city need your help — please spread this

Please donate if you are willing to help defray legal fees relating to criminal charges against seven Iowans who were arrested after protesting against hate speech.

The charges include penalties of up to 13 months imprisonment and $3420 in fines, per person.

The seven Iowans who were arrested are all transgender. There were about 100 people who protested that night, many of whom were not trans. No one was cited or arrested at the time of the protest. It was only 4 weeks later that charges were brought. The seven trans protesters--like thousands of others who have marched in the streets of Iowa City in recent years--believed they were safe from the invasion of their rights to freely express themselves against hate.

Donations will support attorney fees and potential fines related to the criminal charges. More information is available at joco6.org

long story short, we found these two kittens at the bottom of a garbage can!! I don't like to think about how they ended up in there- but we heard them crying while on a walk, and it's very lucky they were so loud! They were scared at first, but now they NEED to be snuggled at all times. Crazy how adaptable kittens are. I'd prefer to rehome them as a pair, but I'd consider adopting them out individually if that's my only option! Hey my old blog @doggirlnarcolepsy got terminated in the recent trans fem tumblr purge, so I'll be posting from this url from now on. Unless tumblr decides to reverse their rash and uncalled for decision, I guess...

Me and my wife have been struggling make ends meet this month and have an unpaid internet and power bill totaling at $225 that urgently need to be paid off or collection agencies will make our life a living hell recouping the charges and fees we will incur. We haven't been able to pick up our hormones or my wife's ozempic yet, as we've been putting aside everything we've received to cover the overdue bills. We've haven't been able to cover groceries either for a while so we've been going days on and off without dinner as our only meal trying to ration what we have left.

Everything has just been so chaotic these last couple of weeks negotiating with utility companies for extensions, barely eating and tumblr nuking my blog out of literally nowhere.. If anyone is able to help out it would be a huge relief for the both of us and we would be incredibly grateful

Doing all this bc as it turns out, after two months of trying to fix it the technician declared the pc dead. I used my laptop to draw, make animatics sometimes, be commissioned art, to start mcyt community projects and events, and other personal uses.

I do not have the money to buy it on my own, so if you can't either, I ask on my knees to reblog this post in the hopes someone kind with extra money sees it and can help me out a little, with whatever amount they can. A few dollars make a huge difference if a bunch of people have them spare, for example.

Edit: unfortunately had to spend money on stuff recently, for traditional art, errands and things for my cat so the goal has gone backwards.

Edit 2: had a medical emergency and the cost completely drained what I had.

Current goal: 0/500€ (for a good laptop I won't have to replace immediately)
