summary: It's the seventy-fifth annual Hunger Games, and you were just unlucky enough to get picked; but lucky enough for this Quarter Quell to feature pre-selected teams. You get paired up with District One's pride and joy, the one and only Rafe Cameron.
pairing: rafe x fem!reader
wc: 15k (oh my LORD)
tags/warnings: its the hunger games so like... yeah... violence and gore and stuff. definitely swearing, spoilers for the og Hunger Games movie I guess (but also not bc i changed it up a bit- you'll see), reader has a special talent that i won't spoil here, Rafe is lowkey a dick at the beginning, Ward being a shitty dad (what's new). also this isn't thoroughly edited bc.. its 15k words and i'm lazy.

Staring blankly out at the crowd in front of you, you attempt to process the echoing of your heartbeat in your ears.
"I'd like us to give a round of applause for our brave, brave tributes this year, and wish them the best of luck in this year's quarter quell!" Your attention is drawn to the woman next to you, the District Five escort, Opal, dressed head to toe in bright yellow. A universally happy color- what a joke.
The crowd is mostly silent and you can't bear the thought of even glancing in the direction of your parents. You turn silently as you're ushered back into the building from the stage, tripping slightly over your feet as the shock sets in. People are talking, possibly to you, but you can hardly hear a thing. You almost made it. You were almost eighteen- one more year and you would have been free.
You were granted the briefest of goodbyes to your family, but you were tempted to even turn that down. An action you regret not taking as your parents walk into the room, your mother with tears already coating her cheeks and your father trying to keep a strong resolve for you and your siblings.
"We'll see you soon, Bug. Remember we love you," He whispers into your hair as you sob into his shoulder. You know he doesn't necessarily mean in this lifetime.
Your tunnel vision settles back in as you're walked out of the room, glancing one last time over your shoulder only to see your dad's shoulders shaking from his silent cries as he turns his back to you.
You are quickly pushed onto the train taking you out of District Five, ignoring the other three tributes and your mentors as they talk. You just stare out the window with tired, red eyes and say a silent goodbye to the home you're already sure you'll never see again.
"Y/N..?" The girl next to you says, tapping you on the shoulder and making you jump.
"Hm?" You hum your acknowledgment, looking at the girl beside you. She's only a year older than you, and you went to school together for years; Maisie, you remember.
"I just wanted to make sure you hear them," Maisie whispers, gesturing to Opal as she starts to explain what the premise of the games is this year.
"So," she claps her hands together, clad in tacky yellow gloves. "I'm sure you have noticed that this year there are four of you, and you'll each be paired up with another tribute to compete. Not necessarily from your own District, but, anything is possible, I suppose. The exciting news is that there's a possibility for two winners this year! You and your teammate will be given a score throughout the games, and if your score as the final two is above ten, you will both be crowned victors!" The woman says excitedly- like it's a good thing.
"And if we don't have over ten?" The boy sitting across from you asks flatly.
"Well... the games shall continue," Opal explains vaguely, but you know what that means. You've seen it before.
"Okay, well, how do we get a good score?" The boy asks.
"I-" The escort starts, hesitance clear in her tone as she's quickly interrupted.
"You kill people," Your female mentor answers. She's leaning her elbows on the end of the table, standing with a knife in her hand, spinning it around like it's some kind of toy.
Your eyes drop from her form, staring down at the table in front of you, suddenly remembering your glass of water and quickly grabbing it when you realize your mouth has gone completely dry just from the idea of what's to come.
You arrive at the Capitol in the middle of the night and despite this fact, the crowds are still there. You didn't expect this, even though you've seen it on the beat-up television in your living room every year. It feels less real, somehow, when you're the one getting pushed through the crowd, not knowing what to do besides give awkward smiles to people yelling your name.
Your room is beautiful. You've never seen anything like this, but you can fully customize it at will with a remote, and this level of technology fascinates you. You spend hours flicking through different images that can appear on the walls, surrounding you in another world. Exhaustion and the sound of an artificial thunderstorm put you to sleep with the remote still resting in your palm.
"Up, up, up, my dear! We've got a big day ahead!" Opal's cheery voice startles you awake from your less-than-cozy spot on the floor. "There's breakfast on the table then we've got to get you down to prep, so hurry up, please." She says, and just like that she's gone, no doubt off to wake the other District Five tributes in a similar fashion.
"You're going to be meeting your teammates for the first time today so you can train together- gosh isn't that just so exciting!" Opal claps as you all stand in the elevator. There's a silence that follows as you and Maisie just nod, not excited about the whole idea. You're about to meet someone who will either be spending the last days of your life with you, or be killing you themselves, and you're not fond of either.
"This way you'll get to train together first, which I do believe to be a very generous act on behalf of the game makers." She adds, making you roll your eyes. How considerate. The most you can hope for is someone who is capable, and preferably someone who isn't in the twelve to fifteen age range, having seen that there were several drawn from different districts.
You shift on your feet as you try to adjust to the uncomfortably tight catsuit they squeezed you into, covered in what must be sapphire and diamond rhinestones, pinching your skin with every slight movement. Gold accents line the seams of the suit, extending out into something that resembles wings and lightning bolts protruding from your back. District Five; power. You get it, but we're the diamonds necessary? You hardly take note of the varying outfits you're surrounded with from the other kids in your district, before Opal is guiding the four of you up the line of extravagant carriages you're meant to parade out on for the people of the Capitol to fawn over.
You take note of where all of the other tributes from Five are lead, guessing based on the order of carriages that Maisie got paired up with another girl from Eleven, and the boys somehow ended up paired together. There must be some sort of personal aspect to this decision, considering you have watched those two boys fight back home. You're last, and Opal looks at you excitedly as you follow her up, and up, and up- to the very front of the line.
"Surprise!" She grins, clapping excitedly as you approach the very first carriage. "Y/N, getting paired with a career is huge. Your odds are good already, your partner has trained his whole life- he even volunteered."
"Sucks for him." You mutter under your breath as you get closer, eyeing up the boy in front of you, wearing an almost matching outfit. All the rhinestones make sense now, blending power with luxury could only mean as much.
"Y/N Y/L/N, meet Rafe Cameron. He'll be your teammate in the games." She smiles as she introduces you.
"Hi." You say quietly, taking his hand as he holds it out to you to help you up onto the carriage.
"Hey." He mutters, avoiding your gaze. It's off to a rough start for him for sure, seeing he's being paired up with someone from an outlying district must be daunting, when for you it should be exciting. Rafe did volunteer, yes, but he doesn't want to risk any kind of attachment- despite what the people of the Capitol want for their entertainment. He wants to come out alive, he doesn't care so much about who he's with.
"Okay, Y/N, remember to smile, please." Opal reminds you and you nod, looking down at her as you hold onto the handle in front of you.
You promise her with a nod, willing to do almost anything at this point to win the favour of possible sponsors. Again, your odds look better next to a career on that front, as well.
Quickly everyone is cleared away from the horses and the carriages and you start moving, catching you off guard and you stumble a little, readjusting your grip on the railing. "Careful." Rafe says beside you, quick to reach out to steady you if you needed it. You think you see the smallest of smiles on his face, but that must have just been your own mind trying to find comfort in anything around you.
"I got it." You whisper, blushing slightly. You've been with your teammate for all of a minute, and you're already proving yourself to be clumsy.
The lights hit your eyes the same time all the cheering does, being the first carriage, it's already so loud you can hardly hear yourself think. You snap out of it quickly, plastering on a smile once you see your own face on a giant screen ahead of you, you don't even look like yourself anymore. Your eyes land on the screen adjacent to the one showing you, seeing Rafe as well. He's smiling too, clearly having headed Opal's advice, or his many years of training is getting to him and he's excited. You really don't know. Then his head turns, and you turn your head as well, making dead eye contact with him for only a moment before he's looking past you into the crowds, taking in the moment.
When you finally get out of the extremely public eye and back into the building you exited from, you feel like you can finally breathe again. Not fully, in the tight, rigid suit they had you dressed up in, but more than you realized you were with all that yelling in your ears and lights in your face.
"District Five, right?" Rafe asks you as you're both stepping down and you nod. "Jeez, you don't talk much, do you?" He follows up with, taking a water bottle from someone who's walking by with them.
"I talk." You reply quietly. "Just... not much to talk about at the moment."
"The shock? Yeah, that'll do it." He nods, taking a sip from the water bottle and holding it out to you. You shake your head and push it away, making him shrug. "Shitty bust when you're not a volunteer."
You just stare at him, taken off guard by the comment. "That being said..." He leans in closer to make sure no one else hears. "I've been waiting my whole life for this, so don't ruin it for me, yeah?"
You pull back away from him and just nod again, not wanting to get on his bad side already. He won't be the one to kill you, probably, but it would still be nice if you spent your final days without your teammate hating your guts. "Thanks, darling." He smirks, patting your shoulder and brushing past you to go to the elevators.
The next day, bright and early yet again, you have your first day of training. You're sure Rafe won't even need it, but you certainly will. Your mentor told you he will likely be using it to size up the other tributes, especially considering there is a staggering amount of them this year, and you will need to focus on survival skills. Only survival skills, if you had to pick one thing- and your mentor drove that into your head until it was all that was echoing in your mind when you entered the training center.
After the trainers speech which ironically tried to do the same thing, you beeline straight for the fire making station. You're shocked to see almost no one else listened, definitely none of the boys, mostly lining up to show off their physical strengths, likely to try and intimidate each other. You'd be lying if you said it wasn't working.
You look up as you hear echoing laughter coming from the other side of the room, eyes scanning over the wall lined with silhouette targets, and racks with an array of weapons before landing on your teammate, laughing away with the other career tributes over a joke you didn't hear. He's got a spear in one hand, leaning his weight on it as his head drops back with laughter. You shake your head to get back on task, rolling the rough wood in your palms in hopes of making a spark. Good to see at least one of you is having fun, especially in your final days.
After a few minutes you get it, sitting back into your calves where you were kneeling on the ground, taking a breath of relief as you're satisfied with your success. You glance around to see how others are doing, giving a small smile and wave to Maisie when you see her, reading a book about different edible plants and trying desperately to memorize every image. You watch as Rafe takes the same spear he was leaning on before, hurling towards one of the targets. A direct hit, right in the chest, slightly right of the centre. You jump a little at the sound it makes on impact, looking finally at the boy who threw it.
He's pacing, huffing and looking a little frustrated with himself. A little to the left would have been perfect, but it was a kill shot nonetheless. There would be no coming back from that, and you count yourself lucky that it likely won't be you in place of the target in the games.
You quickly put out your fire and try again, making sure you've got the hang of it. You'll sit here all day if you must. After three more successful attempts, you're satisfied for the day, deciding you'll return to that station tomorrow and try again. You get up and brush the dirt off your knees, trekking over to where they have supplies to make game traps. You've never done this before, but there's no better time to learn, especially since your teammate has shown no interest in survival skills so far today.
"What are you doing?" Suddenly Rafe is standing behind you, as you're once again kneeling on the ground attempting to get the trigger on your bladeless trap to work.
You jump a little, startled by someone talking to you. "Uh, trying to make a snare, I think." You answer, turning to look up at him.
"Looks good." He nods, crouching down next to you. "Uh, isn't there supposed to be a blade or a spearhead or something on that piece?" He says, pointing to it.
"Well, yeah, I just didn't want to stab myself by accident." You laugh slightly, trying the trigger again- and this time it works, snapping forward into his arm.
"Ouch, yeah, fair enough." Rafe chuckles, rubbing the spot on his arm where the wood made contact.
You just nod and begin to reset it to test it again. "What if you can't get any of this shit in the arena?" He asks.
"What, a stick?" You ask, hitting the trigger one more time, sending the stick into his arm again, which he had decided not to move.
"Ow! Yes, a stick. We don't know what it will look like." He rubs his arm, examining the trap you built closer now.
"Then we're screwed I guess." You joke, leaning back on your calves again, watching him dissect it piece by piece to figure out how it works.
"So, is this like, your thing?" Rafe asks, and you tilt your head at him as you think it over.
"My thing?" You ask, unsure entirely what he meant. "I've never made one before, if that's what you're asking."
"Really?" He seems shocked by this.
"Uh, yeah, really. Unfortunately for you, you got paired up with someone who has zero survival or combat skills."
Rafe looks at you, a smug grin crossing his features. "Ha ha, very funny." He clearly thinks you're joking, but you're definitely not.
"I'm serious." You say, confused as to why he doesn't believe you.
His smile falters, replaced with wrinkles of confusion on his forehead. "But- I just watched you look at the instruction book for no more than like, three seconds before sitting down to make this."
"And..?"
"If you've never done it before it's supposed to be harder than that."
"Well, I've seen other people do it on TV and stuff every year for like, ever." You shrug. "I've just got a good memory, I guess."
Rafe nods, looking at the deconstructed trap in front of him for a moment, thinking about the implications of this. How far does this go? Could he use it? He'd never dreamt of having to work in a team in his games, but maybe it would benefit him after all. "Come with me." He stands up, and you follow as he paces over to two big screens, covered with a large array of different symbols.
"Try this, I just want to see something." Rafe says, standing next to you with his arms crossed as you quickly look over the screen, reaching down toward the one in front of you. You notice quickly that the screens mirror each other, all the images placed in the same spots as they are above. You look up at your teammate briefly who nods at you and then you tap one, watching it disappear from both screens before you tap the matching symbol. It's a matching game.
Your eyes are locked on the top screen as you tap away at the bottom one, quickly making all the images disappear one by one. It takes you no more than a minute to get rid of them all, and then a timer appears on the screen replaying your every move in real-time. Forty-two seconds. Were you really going that fast?
"Neat." Rafe says to himself, nodding as he watches it replay on the screen. That was impressive, sure, but his mind is straining to find a practical implication for this in the arena. "Go back to survival stuff. Learn as much as you can." He settles on, turning and walking off back to where he was before, returning to combat training.
The four days of training fly by insanely fast, and that's likely due to your dread of what's to come. you've got through everything in survival no less than three times, and you're pretty sure last night you dreamt of plants and making a fire. Not surprisingly, Rafe has left you pretty much alone the whole time, but you did watch from a distance as he cycled through every weapon the training center had to offer, proving he's almost mastered every last one. Of course, with over ten years of training, anything less wouldn't make sense. What scares you is the other careers showing a similar skill level to that of your teammate, but he seems to be on good terms with them. Again, maybe this would be a good thing in the beginning of the games.
You sit down for your last day of making fires and fishing hooks, working solely on memory since day one, you're feeling pretty confident that the elements or exposure won't be what takes you out- but you don't know if that's a good thing or not. You just hope your death will be quick.
"Y/N, c'mere." Rafe is suddenly calling to you, motioning for you to join him in the combat area. Not seeing much of a choice, and not looking forward to another day of doing the same thing over and over, you listen.
You make your way over, avoiding the gaze of other tributes who are looking at you like you're about to make a fool of yourself. It's possible you are. "I want you to learn how to use this." He says as you walk up, holding out the handle of a knife to you.
You take it, turning the sharp blade over in your hand. "I thought you were the weapons master." You joke, looking up at him briefly.
"Well, I need you to make fires and shit so you have to stay alive somehow, and if we get separated or something I need to know you can at least defend yourself. These are good from a distance and up close, but remember that any weapon you have they can take and use against you. So keep distance whenever you can." He answers, pointing over to the target about fifteen feet away. "So, throw it."
You look over to where he was pointing, adjusting your grip on the handle as you nod, taking in the information he's dumping on you. He is probably right, especially since you don't think he plans on protecting you himself. Why would he? If you die, he can still win without you.
You lift your arm over your shoulder, closing one eye to narrow down your aim before throwing it hard towards the target, which the knife bounces off of and clatters to the ground. You and Rafe both turn at the same time to look at the group that's laughing at you, the clang of the metal on the cement echoing loudly in the vast space.
"Don't worry about them. They're not there." Rafe is quick to grab another one, handing it to you the same way. "Try again, this time, hold it like this..." He says, grabbing your hand and placing your fingers in the correct spots on the handle. "Keep your wrist tense and straight, don't flick it or anything. Yeah, like that." He nods, taking a step back.
You look over how you're holding it, committing the feeling and finger placement to memory before raising your arm again. You throw it again, and this time it sticks, but your aim is off and it ends up in the target's leg. You look over at Rafe, unsure if you're hoping for approval or just satisfaction. "That's perfect." He nods. "Not a death blow, but that'll buy you time to get away. which is all you need."
"Okay." You agree quietly.
"Would it help if you watched me?" He offered, already grabbing a new knife while you nod. "So, you want to follow through with the throw, your shoulders should end about here if you're doing it right. You get more power that way, and better aim." He explains, standing with one foot forward, parallel to the target.
You step back to watch his strategy, noting the way he held the blade and his form when he aimed to throw it. He lets it fly from his fingers as his shoulders fall forward, smirking to himself as it hits the bullseye circle, right in the chest.
"You got it?" He asks, standing up straight again. You nod in response and he's handing you yet another knife to try again.
You go back and forth for hours, not caring that you're keeping anyone else from practicing. You're not the best at it, but it's become muscle memory now, and every time it sticks, most of the time hitting the silhouette somewhere. You tried the moving targets briefly, the gold, pixelated figures running at you quickly. You were immediately overwhelmed, and Rafe ended up having to step in to help. He said after that the minimal skill you had would be good enough to get away, and that is all you would need. You just have to focus on that.
You didn't talk a lot, besides taking a few short breaks to gather the knives and his arrows as Rafe explained the pros and cons of every weapon they had present, showing you briefly how to use some of them. Mostly how to defend yourself against them. It's hard for him to sum up years of training in one day, but he's dead set on the idea that you won't need most of it- just having to focus on keeping the two of you sheltered and fed, he can handle the rest; hopefully.
You sit outside the training center next to Rafe, waiting for your name to be called. It was the youngest female tribute from his district first, so if you had to guess, you would be third and fourth to go, which doesn't buy you a lot of time to decide what to do to best show your skills.
"What are you gonna do?" You ask, whispering in the deathly quiet room.
"Huh?" Rafe hums, leaning closer to hear you better.
You clear your throat, before speaking this time, unsure if you were clear enough. "What are you gonna do? Like which skill?" You clarify.
"Oh, uh..." He mutters, adjusting how he's sitting as he thinks about what to say. "I'm just going to cycle through some different weapons, different distance targets, I think. My mentors want me to show like, a variety of what I can do."
You nod at this, making a mental note of that. Maybe you should do the matching game and then try the knives. Opal told you that you would be scored both individually, and as a team. You hope you won't bring down his score too much, since you know he's aiming high. You planned on going for a mid-level score, not to be seen as a threat but also not as an easy kill. A perfect six would be your ideal score. "What about you?" Rafe interrupts your thought process.
"I'm not sure." You answer honestly.
"You should do your survival stuff. That will improve our team score, if we show them we have strengths at both." Rafe suggests. That's not actually a bad idea. Your individual score will likely be lower, but that's a risk you're willing to take.
"Yeah, I'll do that."
You ended up scoring a six, the judges obviously not seeing you as any kind of threat. This is what you expected, though, and you were correct about your group score as well. Rafe and you together scored a ten. On his own, he scored a ten, so you hadn't affected it in the way you feared. This left you reeling over the idea of other tributes seeing you both as a threat as you stand in yet another extravagant dress, waiting in line to be called out for your interview. The games were tomorrow, and the last thing you wanted was to get in front of a crowd and subtly plead with them to let you live, to send you gifts, and to give you their sympathy.
So far it's been in the same order they called everyone for assessments yesterday, which means you would be next. Rafe stands behind you, arms crossed in a suit that looks more expensive than any you've seen back home in all of your life, but he looks comfortable in it. Your dress is once again covered in rhinestones, and your waist is cinched in so tight you can hardly breathe as it is, so you're not looking forward to going on stage.
"Our next tribute, welcome to the stage from District Five, Miss Y/N Y/L/N!" You hear the familiar voice of Caesar Flickerman calling you out and some guards usher you forward onto the stage, very briefly glancing over your shoulder at Rafe.
You're quick to smile as you turn back around, giving a small wave to the host and then out to the audience as they cheer for you. For a brief moment, you feel as if they don't plan on watching you die as early as tomorrow, you feel as if they're rooting for you. "Hi!" You say as you get closer and Caesar stands up to greet you, shaking your hand and giving you a quick hug before gesturing for you to sit down across from him.
You look around the large theatre, spotting every camera you can. Your family is out there watching, somewhere, and you know they'll see right through this show you have to put on. You wish they wouldn't. You can picture so vividly your living room back home, with your parents and siblings scattered across the couch and the floor watching you with bated breath, they can see you- and on some level, you can see them too.
"Miss Y/L/N. Thank you for being here." Caesar sighs, reaching out and patting your hand where it sits on the armrest next to you.
"Well, I didn't have any other plans for the night, so..." You shrug, making him laugh. Laughter echoes from the audience and you smile, hoping that your plan to win people over is working.
"What? A beautiful girl like you?" He asks after he's done laughing. "You weren't planning on spending some of your free time with your teammate?" As if you got even a minute of free time since you've been here.
"Well, I guess we'll never know." You chuckle, looking back at the boy where he stands in the wing, giving you a small smile.
"Now listen, Y/N, Rafe is..." He has to stop after mentioning his name as cheers erupt again, laughing as he waits for the audience to quiet down. "Your teammate is, as you may have guessed, a popular face in the Capitol right now. Are you feeling lucky about your pairing?"
Rafe crossed his arms as he watches intently, feeling smug about his odds, especially now knowing the Capitol's opinion of him. He knows his dad is back home watching, full of pride that his son has become a fan favourite.
"I am." You answer honestly. "He's very talented."
"And handsome, don't you think?"
"I mean, who am I to argue with the people?" You joke, waving your hand dismissively as you hear the cheers pick up again. "Besides, his looks won't save us. We will save ourselves." You add seriously.
Caesar nods in acknowledgment, showing that to an extent, he agrees with you. "Well, I hope that you are right, dear." He smiles, getting up to signal you've run out of time. You stand as well, taking his hand as he holds it up above your heads. "It was so lovely to meet you, and may the odds stay ever in your favor. Y/N Y/L/N, everyone!"
You smile and thank him quietly, waving to everyone with both hands as you walk across the stage to exit on the other side. You take a few deep breaths as you step into yet another waiting room, watching the screen as Rafe is called out right behind you.
Rafe sits down on the chair across from Caesar after his introduction, which allows a few moments for the audience to quiet down. He smiles proudly as he rests one of his feet on his other knee, bouncing his leg with anxiety. He hopes it's interpreted as excitement. "Rafe." Caesar smiles at him, sitting back down as well. "I'll be honest, I have been so excited to finally meet you."
"It's good to meet you too." Rafe grins, chuckling slightly at the few whistles he gets scattered from the crowd.
"You got a fabulous score, how are you feeling about that?"
"Really good, yeah. Obviously I've been waiting my whole life for this opportunity, so it feels amazing to see it all paying off." Rafe answers, focussing on keeping the confidence in his tone.
"We can tell, can't we?" Caesar laughs, riling up the audience again, making Rafe laugh to himself as he softly shakes his head. "Yeah, yeah. So, with all this planning you've been doing, how do you feel about getting paired up? You probably expected to be going in solo."
"I did, for sure, but I don't think this is a bad thing." Rafe admits.
"Oh, getting along well with your teammate?" Caesar asks, a hint of suggestion in his tone.
"Yeah, we get on really well." Rafe exaggerates your relationship a bit, knowing it will earn you more sponsors, and maybe keep other tributes away from you in the games. "At least I think we do, I'm not fully sure about her thoughts on me, though."
"You scored incredibly well together, despite Y/N having a fairly average score on her own. What are your thoughts and feelings on that?"
Rafe chuckles as he leans forward a bit, pointing out to the audience as he speaks. "Don't underestimate her based on the score. I won't give you any spoilers, but trust me, don't overlook her. She's got as good a shot as any of us. Maybe better."
Caesar makes a surprised expression as he nods. "Well okay! Does she have some sort of secret weapon we should be worried about?" He chuckles, gripping the armrests and looking around as the audience laughs.
Rafe just shrugs in response, smirking slightly, which you can tell the audience just eats up. You're trying to decide if this is good or bad for you, though, as you watch, gnawing at your nails in anticipation as you stare at the screen.
"Okay, alright, don't spoil anything then." Caesar laughs. "It'll make for a better show, and I can get behind that."
After a moment of waiting for the cheers to die down, Caesar speaks up again. "Rafe, if I can ask, I know your father has a lot of influence in your district- how is he feeling about your selection for the games?"
You furrow your brow a little bit as you look at the screen, finally learning something interesting about your teammate. If he's from a prominent family in District One of all places, that would certainly explain his attitude. Rafe, on the other hand, doesn't want to talk about his father at all- but of course they would bring him up.
"Yeah, of course." Rafe replies, shifting in his seat. "He's thrilled, it's a huge honour to be here, and to be the first out of his children to be chosen is really special to me. I just hope I can make him and my sisters proud, he's always encouraged us to volunteer."
"I'm sure that you will." Caesar smiles at him. "I hope I will have the honour of hosting one of your sisters on this stage one day, as well."
Your stomach churns just watching this. How can any father who loves his children want this fate for them? This was your father's worst nightmare. You watch as Rafe nods with a smile, and you can see behind his eyes that he doesn't want that, not at all.
The audience cheers as they both stand up, shaking hands before Rafe leaves the stage, a cocky smirk on his face as he waves and winks at the audience. Before Rafe makes it down to the waiting room, you're grabbed an escorted out, heading for the elevator back to your room.
You can't eat, but you know you should. This will likely be your last meal for a while. You decide on just taking a large bowl of fruit and toast to your room, trying to get it down slowly with all the nerves, while you have a bath. Your parents never let you eat in the bath. It's hard to get out knowing this is likely the last bath you'll ever have.
The morning goes by in a blur, you feel Opal's arms around you as she hugs you goodbye and wishes you luck. You know you'll need all of it. You stare down at the ground in front of you as you're pushed onto a plane, of sorts, along with all the other tributes. Once you're sat down, you look around at everyone else. You remember all of their names as you scan over their faces, but you wish you didn't. You get stuck on one of the girls from District Eleven, Hope, who was only thirteen.
She's shaking, and you can see that from where you're sat down the row from her. She reminds you of Rue, the tribute from last year. Her death was a tragedy, it broke the hearts of everyone outside of the Capitol and the career districts. Hope's curly hair sat in a bun on top of her head, and tears fell down her cheeks as she sniffled. She got paired up with a girl from Twelve- the lengths the Capitol will go to to make a mockery of last years games will never cease to amaze you.
"Hey, you look a little pale." Rafe whispers, leaning close to you. You didn't even notice him sit down on the other side of you.
You shake your head slightly, looking down at your knees. "I'm fine."
"Don't think about it." Rafe instructs you, holding his arm out for the tracker to be injected as a guard approaches with the device.
You wince as you hear it get shot into his arm and he chuckles, shaking his arm off to ease the sting. You raise your shaking arm as they hold their hand out expectantly to you. You don't know what it is they're putting in you, but you've never been fond of needles. This is a million times worse. "It's not that bad," Rafe tells you, and you squeeze your eyes shut as you feel pressure on your forearm, followed by a sharp, stabbing pain. You bite your tongue to keep from making a sound, dropping your arm onto your lap as they quickly walk away.
"What did they do?" You ask him, trying to keep a steady tone.
"It's a tracker, so they know where we are in the arena." He explains quietly. You were the only two talking, and you notice it's earning you glares from several other tributes. Rafe notices this as well, leaning back in his seat and crossing his arms, taking this time to size everyone up.
The plane takes off, and before you know it, you're landing at the arena on the outskirts of Capitol property. You wonder if you're close to the ocean, not that you'll get to see it anyways.
You're paraded off of the plane, still trying not to let it show how afraid you are of what's to come. You make the briefest of eye contact with Maisie as she's pulled towards a different hallway, and neither of you have it in you to smile anymore.
"We've gotta get supplies, that's our first move." Rafe says to you as you're led out of earshot of other tributes, into your own hall.
"My mentor said to run." You reply quietly.
Rafe scoffs, shaking his head. "Your what, one mentor said that? Cool. I have fifteen that are still alive and well enough to show up every year. I think we should get supplies." He tells you firmly, but you know that will get you instantly killed, maybe not him, but you stand no shot. "Just stick with me if you want to live."
You just nod a little bit, glancing at him again briefly before you're directed into a separate room across the hall from him. His pedestal will be next to yours, which is a bit of a relief. Your stylist quickly instructs you to strip, and then she helps you into the uniform you assume you'll all be wearing. It's exactly the same as last year, you notice this quickly, but with a '75' logo embroidered on the chest where the District Twelve tribute had her pin placed. Katniss, you remember her name was. She had volunteered for her sister, and at the time you contemplated heavily on whether or not you would do the same. She was so, so close to winning- to getting to see her sister again, but she and the boy from her district, the final two tributes, ended up committing together rather than giving the Capitol their Victor. It was an admirable stance, but you couldn't imagine what that was like for her family, and his.
You step off the concrete floor once you're dressed, instructed to get into the pod that will lift you up into the arena; a glass elevator. Your stylist says nothing to you as they walk out of the room, the glass door sliding shut in front of you. Your knees get weak as you realize you are totally, completely alone, and likely no more than twenty minutes from dying. You think of your family, your siblings, your dad- and the last words he said to you. You'll see him soon.
Your thoughts are halted when the elevator starts to move, lifting you up as the ceiling falls away and you can see sunlight coming through. You squint and shield your eyes as you try to look up to get a better grasp on your surroundings before you can even see anything. Once trees come into view you're frantically looking around, trying to process as much information as you can, and quickly. It's exactly the same as last year, but from what you can tell, flipped in reverse, and made larger to accommodate twice as many tributes. Or everything on camera last year was flipped. There's a silver cornucopia in the middle with the timer that's immediately counting down and supplies inside and scattered around the field in front of you. Rafe is to your right, and a boy from Seven on your left. He scored a six, the same as you, so he's not the biggest threat to you immediately.
You adjust your stance, getting ready to run once the timer hits zero. In what direction, you don't know yet. Rafe wants you to run to the supplies, but statistically, the most deaths will happen in the next five minutes and you don't want any part of that. The supply bags and weapons spread out on the grass are all the same too, by the looks of it. The closest bag to you got picked up by the girl from Seven last year, and it didn't have much of anything helpful. If you're remembering right, it had a rope and some matches, and that was it. It definitely would be useful, but you know you can do better. There should be a bag four pedestals to your right, with a water bottle, an emergency blanket, a fire starter, a first aid kit, and a knife. Right now, that's the one you have to get to. That's your best bet.
Ten, nine, eight... The timer ticks down to the final seconds as you look over at Rafe, who's already looking at you. You point to the bag as your eyes land on it on the other side of him across the field, and he looks at you confused. He's closer, he has a better shot, but you know he won't take it.
Rafe is confused, following your finger and spotting the bag. Why would you want that one specifically? There are others closer, he doesn't feel like now is a time to be picky.
Four, three, two...
Your ears ring with shock as the clock reaches zero, and you're watching most of the other tributes booking it for the center. No one has seen your bag yet as you jump down, beelining across the field and narrowly brushing past Rafe in your move for the small backpack. He stops to let you pass, almost crashing into you head-on. He doesn't have time to worry about you, so he continues on his path to the middle, but he's lost time. Precious time that he doesn't have to lose right at the beginning of the games.
He gets into the bloodbath that the cornucopia has already turned into, looking back over his shoulder quickly as he grabs at any weapon he can get his hands on. He quickly has to sacrifice the blade he just grabbed when he hears footsteps quickly approaching from behind him, turning quickly and plunging it into the boy's chest. He doesn't think to look at who it was.
Cannon's echo around you, and you're counting how many internally as you get to the bag, reaching down to grab it as you run past, trying not to slow down. You look back over your shoulder, hoping to spot your teammate somewhere, but you can't see him. You're scanning the area, blocking out the blood you see flying and scattered along the silver metal of the cornucopia. You can hardly hear any screams over the sound of your heartbeat pounding in your ears. You can't help but watch as the girl from Three jumps on who is supposed to be her partner, a girl from Twelve, snapping her neck in a second. Within moments, she just drops to the ground next to her- another cannon following. That makes a strong incentive for working in teams. At least Rafe won't betray you early on.
You freeze up for a moment, stopping to scan your surroundings. You still can't find Rafe, taking in the number of bodies scattered around the cornucopia and a few tributes running into the tree line. At least some people were smart. Something flies past your head, making you jump back a step as you look up ahead of you. Within an instant, you're being tackled back by the body of the boy from your district.
"Y/N, fancy seeing you here." He chuckles darkly while you try and fight him off.
"Don't!" You squeak out, him pressing his forearm down against your throat on the ground.
"I've wanted to do this since the second they called your name." He growls, shoving you down again.
"We can help each other, Jack..." You say weakly, clawing at his arm.
"You don't need me. You've got your career boyfriend- and whatever your secret weapon is." He scoffs. "You don't have a secret weapon, Y/N. He's bluffing and he won't convince us."
You gather all your strength and knee him in the crotch, scrambling to get away as he fumbles for just a moment. "God- you are a bitch!" He shouts, grabbing for your ankle just has you pick up the knife he had thrown at you. You grip it the way Rafe had shown you, quickly shoving it into Jack's leg. You just needed to get away.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" You exclaim, backing away quickly. Jack doesn't say another word, cutting his losses and getting up to make an escape for the woods. You hope he ends up okay.
You make your break for it as well, running back towards the woods as you once again scan your surroundings for your partner.
Suddenly you're on the ground, having run straight into the side of one of the pedestals and falling over it. You yelp with the sudden impact of the ground, scrambling to get up and continue when suddenly someone is grabbing your jacket, slamming you into the pedestal again. You scream, trying to shove them off, but they're much stronger than you. "Jael! Wait, wait- Jael!" You make out your own voice yelling the boy's name, which makes him falter. He's the oldest tribute from Eight- he seems shocked you even know his name.
In the moment when he loosened his grip, he jerks forward and then falls over you, a cannon booming making you gasp as you panic to get away. Rafe is quickly running towards you, slinging the bow he just used over his shoulder and yanking the arrow out of the boy's back. "Y/N, let's go!" He shouts, motioning for you to follow him as you continue toward the tree line, both of you keeping an eye on what's happening behind you as you disappear into the woods.
"Let's stay close, but not too close," Rafe suggests as soon as you feel safe enough to slow down, your chest heaving with the exertion of energy and boost of adrenaline. He glances at you briefly, then does a double take. "You okay? Are you hurt?"
You shake your head, coughing to ease the stinging in your throat. "I'm fine. You?"
"Good," Rafe answers, slowing his pace to match yours.
"We, uh, I think we should go the other way." You say, looking around to try and mentally place where abouts you are.
Rafe stops and furrows his brow at you, seemingly frustrated by your resistance. "Why does it matter?"
"The arena, it's the same as last year. Exactly the same. Just, scaled up a bit." You explain. "We should head south, that's where the river is. We'll need water soon."
Rafe laughs slightly, his demeanor changing as he places his hands on his hips and looks at you. "No shit," He says, truly surprised and impressed that you could tell. A lot of the games tend to look like this, and he would never notice a repeat arena down to the rivers if it punched him in the face. Your 'secret weapon' is already paying off. "And you could tell that right away?"
"Yeah, I mean, I guess so. The bags were all the same, everything was laid out the same. I bet there's a river down south." You nod, having a sudden realization. "We should get to that cave- the one the tributes from Twelve holed up in last year. That'll be a good, stable shelter. We can pretty much wait it out." You say, starting to walk in what you believe is the right direction.
"No," Rafe replies, making you stop in your tracks. "Unless you want me to have to kill you in the end."
"Oh, right." You forgot about that part, keeping score. "We're still going to need somewhere to sleep, though."
"Yeah, we'll find it anyways." Rafe nods, carrying on in the direction you started heading. You follow a few steps behind, keeping a bit of distance in the somewhat awkward silence that fell over you two after his comment about having to kill you.
You walk in the thick of the woods for about an hour before you feel like you're reaching the river. You can feel it under your feet, the soil is slightly softer, and the trees a little more green.
Cannons interrupt your thoughts a few times in the hike, totaling up to twenty-three by the time you reach the riverbank. "You were right." Rafe chuckles, mentally disparaging any skepticism he faced during the long, quiet walk.
"Thank god." You giggle, dropping your bag and crouching down to dig through it, hoping for a water bottle. You were right, everything you expected was accounted for.
"Why that bag?" Rafe says, already sitting down on the rocky water's edge to rest for a moment.
"Huh?" You question, unsure you heard over the shuffling of the bag while you zip it up.
"You pointed to it, during the countdown. Why did you want that one?"
"Oh, uh, like I said they all looked the same as last year, and I hoped I remembered what was inside." You say, laying down to reach into the water and fill up the bottle.
"Were you right?"
You nod with a small smile, sitting back up and holding the bottle out to him as you cross your legs.
"That's actually insane." Rafe shakes his head in disbelief as he takes it, downing just about everything in it before handing it back.
You take it and refill it again for yourself. "I'll choose to take that as a compliment."
Rafe wouldn't admit it, but at this moment as he's watching you drink, he's grateful that he got paired up with you. But now, that it's been shown on national television that you know the arena in and out, he wonders what obstacles the gamemakers will desperately throw your way.
"We should keep moving. I feel like a sitting duck out here in the open, I don't like it." Rafe mutters, checking his attitude as he stands up. You're quick to fill up the bottle again, following behind him yet again as the arrows in his quiver rattle together against his back walking over the rocky and unstable terrain, knife gripped tightly in his hand.
You wonder to yourself how he's feeling about leaving behind his predestined alliance of the career pack, but with the factor of most of them being paired up with other districts, it was already too unpredictable. You wouldn't have stuck around either.
The sun started to set as you followed the river upstream. You didn't want to settle without some kind of shelter, and you were committed to finding that cave before you could relax. You could tell that Rafe had the same idea, his steps ahead of you gradually picking up speed with the bow still gripped firmly in his palm.
"It's a beautiful sunset." You speak your mind before thinking, desperately wanting to fill the silence.
Rafe just hums in response, looking up only briefly before training his gaze once again on the ragged rocks at his feet and continuing on. "What's it like in District One?" You ask.
"Fine." He replies coldly. You aren't sure what you expected, but this response was pretty on par. You knew you had almost no chance of survival, so it would at least be nice to get to know the person you spend your final days with, even if he would be the one to kill you in the end.
"I've never been, but I've heard it's... nice." You've only ever heard about it from the perspective of other bitter individuals from Five, jealous of the cushy lifestyle everyone knew they must have lived.
"Yeah." Rafe agrees, clearly not wanting to discuss it.
"What are your sister's names?" You ask, deciding to push a little bit. It's not like he can kill you just yet.
Rafe sighs, but answers anyways. "Wheezie and Sarah."
You're shocked that he answered at all, but you could tell in his interview that he has a soft spot for them. "Cute." You nod, smiling to yourself. "Is Wheezie a nickname?"
"Yep, it's short for Louise."
"That's adorable." You grin, shaking your head.
"Hey, look. There." Rafe says, changing the subject and pointing down the rocks, where there's a small opening under a ledge.
"That's it!" You exclaim, deciding to drop the topic of his sisters in favour for finding your shelter for the night. You rush past him, watching your step as you climb down into the small cave.
Rafe quickly draws his bow, slowing down and peaking into the cave and bracing himself for your screams. How could you be so careless in a game like this? He doesn't understand your lightheartedness, your somewhat positive attitude, and your ability to make small talk despite the circumstances. "Hey, careful!"
"It's perfect!" You call back out as you look around, and Rafe steps down carefully, looking around more carefully than you had. He relaxes once he's satisfied that there's nothing down there waiting to kill you.
"Nice, okay." Rafe nods to himself, and you both get to work making a small fire near the entrance, hidden from view.
You take off your jacket and roll it up, using it as a makeshift pillow as you lay next to the fire, staring at the orange flicker of the flames you made.
Rafe is sitting across from you, knees tucked up to his chest as he does just the same. His mind is absolutely reeling- he needs to find something to eat, and soon. That will be the first thing you'll do in the morning, he'll have to employ your help to find something edible. "How are you with making traps?" He asks.
"I can do it." You reply, sitting up and leaning on your elbow so you can see him. "I'll set some up in the morning."
Rafe nods a little bit. He already knew you could, of course, but he's wondering about the logistics of how they work. "So like... hypothetically, would they work the same if you made them bigger?"
"Like... human-sized?" You ask, catching on to what he's suggesting. It's not ethical- but nothing about this game is. For you, this would definitely be preferable to fighting other kids to death over and over again.
Rafe nods, adjusting how he was sitting and crossing his legs.
"Yeah. I can't see why not." You answer. "It would be harder since I've never done it, but I think it could work."
"Then I say we try it."
The next day, you wake up as the sun rises and the light beats down on you from the entrance of the cave. You didn't sleep comfortably, that's for sure, waking up twice throughout the night to the sound of the cannon. That's twenty-seven. You wonder how many teams have already reached their ten-kill quota, you imagine someone in the career pack already has. Both times when you were startled awake, Rafe was standing at the cave entrance, bow drawn as he squinted into the darkness, hoping that whoever was out hunting other tributes wasn't nearby.
You sit up slowly, stretching out your tired limbs as you look over to see Rafe, fast asleep with a blade in his hand. You should let him sleep, and get to work on finding something to eat, and making some traps.
You grab one of the knives Rafe somehow collected from the bag laying next to him as quietly as possible, sneaking outside and taking in your surroundings. The sound of the river flowing and the smell of morning dew was amazing- you wish you could truly enjoy it in different circumstances.
You quickly get to work tracking down something to eat, landing on a few different plants you know to be edible. You're trekking through the woods near your cave when you come across an apple tree- making you pause as you look it over. It looks out of place- and maybe no one got close enough to it in the games last time that you wouldn't have seen it, but that seems unlikely. It must be new; it makes for the perfect place to try and set up a trap for the next hungry tribute who would be unfortunate enough to wander too close to your hideout.
You're digging a hole in the ground with your hands, avoiding the roots of the tree and sticking in some sticks you sharpened when you hear a twig snap behind you. You freeze, hoping that by some miracle, it's just an animal. You slowly turn your head to try and look, picking up the knife from the ground next to you and holding it tight.
"Just me." Rafe's voice relaxes you, and you stand up, brushing off your knees.
"You scared me." You admit as he takes to looking down into the hole you just dug.
"That looks... awful." He chuckles, patting your shoulder. "It won't kill, but it'll slow someone down enough that I can finish the job."
You nod slightly, staring into the dirt as well. You hated the idea that you were crafting something intentionally to bring harm to another person, but realistically you have no choice. "We'll set up more, along the riverbed and closer to the career pack. We can't monitor them all at once, though- can you make more fatal ones next time?" Rafe asks, pointing back towards the river to accentuate his point.
"That depends, how many arrows can you spare?"
The next few days saw the death toll rise to thirty-six. You kept track every night, scratching their numbers and names into the walls of the cave despite being able to remember anyway. You viewed it as a small memorial, Rafe saw it as a timer ticking down to when he'd have to kill you.
Your first trap had worked on one person, their screams of pain from a cut-up leg summoning your teammate back to the apple tree. He insisted you stay behind as he finished what you started. You had to reset several other traps as well, closer to the cornucopia.
Rafe would never admit it, but he was really starting to like you. He didn't want to hurt you- he was worried the traps wouldn't do enough. The passive approach you so preferred wasn't what he expected, and he knew his dad would be disappointed in him. But Ward would never understand.
He sighed as he poked at the fire with a stick, leaning his head back against the rocky wall of the cave, another cold night ahead of you.
You had your head laid on his lap, his thigh replacing the thin material of your coat that you had been using the last few days.
"How old are your sisters?" You ask out of nowhere, prompting him to look down at you. He had thought you fell asleep a while ago.
"Why does it matter?" Rafe replies, and you just shrug a little bit.
"Gives us something to talk about."
"Fifteen and Eleven." He relents.
"Hey, me too." You smile a little to yourself.
"You have sisters?" Rafe asks. He never asked much about you- he didn't really want to know, in the case he had to kill you.
"Yep. And a brother." You nod, sitting up a little bit. "He's older though, he aged out last year."
Rafe finds himself clenching his jaw. He can't hear that- to see you as a little sister. He doesn't want to imagine what it would be like to see his sisters face the same fate. "Lucky guy." He says quietly.
"Why? I thought it was a privilege, and all that." You chuckle.
"Well, yeah, but not for most. For the outlying districts like you."
"At least you get it." You agree. "How does it feel? Now that you're here, I mean."
"Scary." Rafe admits, throwing caution to the wind now with what his father will think. "Not what everyone tells you it'll be like."
"Is that because of me?" You ask after a few moments, and he nods slightly.
"Not in a bad way, though. It's just different. I expected to be on my own, to die alone, or kill my allies if I had to. Now... I don't know that I have to. Or if I even could." He can practically hear his father shouting at their large screen at home, or storming out claiming he was an embarrassment. He was told his whole life to never show weakness, to 'be a man', but now, at the end, that doesn't matter to him.
"I won't take it personally." You giggle softly, voice shaking as you try to make light of it. "My family won't either, I don't think. Maybe my dad, at first, but eventually he'll understand. They'll forgive you." You try and ease his mind, knowing that in the case that Rafe does win without you, he'll have to face your family in the next month or so during the victory tour.
"I wouldn't ever expect him to." Rafe tells you, tossing his stick into the flames now. He feels sick hearing you talk about it like it's inevitable- but if he has anything to do with it, you'll be coming home with him.
"They're good people." You assure him.
"Don't say that." Rafe chuckles, shaking his head. "I would never forgive myself."
"Okay, fine. They're awful. Just... the worst." You smile, looking up at him and resting your chin in your hand.
"That's better. Thank you." Rafe laughs, poking your forehead and gazing out onto the river as the flames illuminate the water.
In the morning, you're awoken to something brushing your leg. You groan and roll over, head landing once more on Rafe's extended arm underneath you. At least he was finally getting some sleep, pretty much unable to close his eyes since you set foot in the arena. You feel the brush again, followed by something moving on your arm, several things, suddenly, and your eyes fly open and look down when you remember where you are. You let out a scream, scrambling to sit up and pushing yourself back against the wall.
Rafe wakes up quickly, scrambling for the bow next to him when he realizes it won't be any help. You're surrounded by and quickly almost covered in a sickening combination of snakes and spiders.
You're still screaming, trying to shove the creatures off of you. "Come on- come on!" Rafe is yelling at you, grabbing your arm and pulling you towards the exit. You don't get the chance to grab your back and you regret that as you're jumping into the river in attempt to get the spiders off of your skin and out of your clothes.
You're breathing heavily as you come up for air, and Rafe is quickly there, brushing his hands over your hair to make sure every last spider is gone. He looks back at the entrance of the cave, chest heaving like yours as the bugs and snakes spill out of it. It sends a shiver down his spine- he was never a fan of snakes.
"I guess that's the gamemakers telling us enough was enough." He sighs, gently pulling you towards the shore again a safe distance away. "Are you bit?" He asks once you're a safe distance away.
"I don't think so..." You reply, hiking up the ankles of your pants to look at your calves and over your bare arms as you sit on the shore. "You?"
Rafe shakes his head, doing the same. "It was probably just a warning. We have to move." He quickly lowers his pant leg over the puncture wounds in his leg, hoping you didn't see. If it gets worse, he'll tell you. The bite itself didn't hurt much, so if it's going to be fatal, he's glad he won't have to hurt you.
Rafe helps you up, leading you up towards the tree line. "They probably want to push us in toward the other tributes, I think we should go with it before they throw something worse at us." You, the two of you now left with nothing but what you had on you, along with Rafe's bow and a few spare arrows.
He nods. "It's our best move anyways. How many tributes are left?"
"Twelve including us." You answer quickly. "There's Avril, a boy from six, Maisie, she's from my district, most of the careers I think are still in it but not their teammates," You begin to rattle off the list,
"I don't want to know names." Rafe cuts you off, and you understand why. He's been doing all the dirty work, and part of you knows it's because he's hoping to have time to learn names and feel guilty about it later. Right now, he can't afford to see them as human.
"Right." You agree. "It doesn't really matter, anyways."
"Do you know scores?" He asks, walking alongside you now.
You nod, beginning to list off all the remaining tributes and their scores, from lowest to highest. The lowest being you- and the highest being ten, shared by Rafe and a boy from district two.
After hearing two more cannons that day, and checking all the traps you had set, you're circling back to the river to be near fresh water before you set up camp again. You don't have your water bottle anymore, or anything to set up any kind of shelter with, you do your best. You set up a fire, Rafe insisting that if it draws other tributes to you so be it- he's ready for this to end just as much as you, but you don't want to rush into your death or an ambush. It's safe to say you won't be sleeping tonight.
You didn't sleep, but at least, curled up under a tree, the night sky was beautiful. The stars seemed realistic, and you wondered if somehow they were real. Between the two more cannons that struck overnight, you still wondered if you were somewhere near the ocean, or somewhere closer to home. While you're sitting next to each other in a peaceful silence, both admiring the vastness of the night sky, you hear a ringing sound coming from above.
Rafe quickly stands, reaching for the small silver pack with a parachute before it hits the ground. He's quick to open it as you stand up, looking into the container. You grab the small card, tilting it into the light of your fire to read it.
For our Y/N,
Keep fighting. Please come home to us.
Love You Always, Dad
Tears form in your eyes almost instantly, your hand coming up to cover your mouth. "It's just a water bottle and some kind of granola bars... or something." Rafe says, turning the water bottle over in his hand.
He looks up at you, frowning when he sees how upset you look. "Hey, what's wrong?"
"Nothing." You quickly shake your head, wiping your eyes. "Uhm, it's from my dad."
The fact that your family could spare enough money to send you something in the games at all was amazing to you. You heard horror stories of the astronomical prices of trying to send something from outside of the capitol, without the status and funds of a sponsor.
"Oh." Rafe replies, handing you the tin and bottle now, taking the card from you gently. He reads it over slowly, and over and over again. His family had seemingly endless amounts of money, and they had sent him nothing. He knew his father viewed it as cheating, and that you shouldn't need any kind of help to win. If he loved him, though, that wouldn't matter. He should be willing to do anything he could to keep his son alive. The way your parents did.
"My mom made these." You sniffle, grabbing a small bar from the container in her hand. "They're my favourite, she only makes them on birthdays or special occasions." You explain.
"That's... that's really nice." Rafe says, putting the card back in the tin. He doesn't know how to handle this, or what to say.
You smile sadly as you sit back down against the tree, placing the tin on your lap as Rafe joins you. "Here." You hold the bar out to him.
"They're for you." Rafe shakes his head, pushing it away.
"They're for us." You insist, holding it out to him again. "They wouldn't have sent two if I wasn't meant to share."
"Thank you." Rafe smiles genuinely, for the first time in weeks as he takes it. He's starving, having eaten only small amounts of meat and plants over the last week or so, so he's quick to take a bite. It's sweet, more so than he expected. He never thought he could enjoy sugar this much.
"No wonder they're reserved for celebrations, hey?" You giggle, having intently watched his reaction.
Rafe nods. "Yeah, it's really good. Super sweet." He says, mouth still full. You grin, satisfied as you take a bite of your own.
The night flew by so quickly, you're feeling as though it must have gotten shorter. The sunrise went by fast too. You're guessing the gamemakers and the viewers were getting antsy. To be honest, you were as well.
Renewed with your energy the sugary baking your parents had sent, you set about gathering food and water, while Rafe goes on to check a few of your traps to see if they needed to be reset. He could do it on his own, but he liked watching you do it, working the ropes between your fingers and tying intricate knots, pulling back on the stick used to trigger the arrow. By the afternoon, having taken a mental note of the amount of cannons that had fired. It was a few, at least. You must be getting down to the end. He prayed it wasn't you, but the cries of some kind of mutts in the distance right before the cannons lead him to believe that you were fine- but he should be getting back soon anyways.
You were wandering down to the water, reluctant to leave your camp, but you knew water was a priority. You were just filling up the new bottle when you heard a scream. It sounded like a boy. You quickly look back over your shoulder, noticing it was nearby. Toward the apple tree. You stand slowly, looking around as you attach the water bottle back to your side with a carabiner, reaching instead for the knife Rafe had left with you. God, you hoped it wasn't him. The absence of a cannon gives you hope, though.
You quietly head in that direction, watching your step so your presence isn't detected. When you get closer to the tree, you hear crying. Painful crying, as you're faced with the reality of the trap you set.
You watch from behind a tree as the boy from eight tries to pull his leg up from the ground, screaming out again as the sharp sticks dig into his flesh. You should go get Rafe- you feel guilty, but you can't kill him yourself. You turn quickly, and before you can get a step away you're face to face with one of the other careers- a sword held up against your neck.
"Don't move." Blake says, a smile that can only be described as evil spreading over his lips.
You try and scream out for help, hoping Rafe was still in earshot but a hand is quickly covering your mouth. "Not yet." He whispers, shaking his head. "We've got a plan, it'll be fun. You wouldn't want to ruin that, right?"
As Rafe gets back to your small camp, he expects to see you there waiting. He scans the trees above him, wondering if you had climbed up for some reason. He calls your name when he doesn't see you, brow furrowed. You definitely should be back by now. As he's heading down to the water to look for you, he hears a cannon, which at this point wouldn't bother him- if it wasn't for the scream that followed after. It was you. No doubt in his mind that it was you. With his bow drawn, he's moving quickly towards where he heard your voice, throwing caution to the wind.
You scream again, crying as the tip of the sword is dug into your shoulder, laying down next to the apple tree. You can't help it- but you don't want their trap to work. You don't want Rafe to come, so you bite your tongue until you taste blood, hoping to keep quiet. "It'll only get worse for you if you don't scream, Y/N/N." Blake scolds you, digging in the blade more. "He has to hear you." He adds through gritted teeth.
You hear a twig snap just outside the small clearing, and Blake is quickly turning to look with the sword still pinning you to the ground. "Rafe it's a trap!" You shout, hoping that it's him.
Rafe steps out then, into full view with his bow drawn as he aims at the boy in front of him. When they first met, he knew they would have been good friends if they met anywhere else. "You won't shoot me." Blake chuckles, and Rafe quickly readjusts his grip.
"I will." Rafe says sternly, pulling the string tighter as Blake moves the sword to hover over your chest. Over your heart.
"If you shoot, the last of my energy will go into killing her. I don't think you want that." He shakes his head, smiling smugly.
"I don't care." Rafe says, making your heart clench. You know that you're friends, at the very least. He does care. He's bluffing- you have to believe that.
"If you didn't care you would have shot me already." Blake calls it, and Rafe tenses up, looking down at you only briefly.
"Then what do you want?" Rafe spits.
"Oh, nothing. I just wanted you to watch." Blake shrugs. "Just makes it a little more fun, you know? But don't worry, you'll be next." You know he just wants to prove himself, somehow, not having scored as high as Rafe did. You wonder if his family was somehow similar- that he needed some kind of approval that he thought he might find through sadism.
Rafe looks down at you again, and you just nod, tears streaming down your temples to your ears. He quickly readjusts before letting the arrow fly, planting straight in the shoulder that held the sword as you quickly roll over, slicing across your chest and shoulder in the process. It was well worth it.
Rafe fires another arrow into his chest, not taking any risks and the cannon quickly follows as he rushes to your side.
"Are you okay?" He's asking, hands hovering above you as he's kneeled next to you, unsure what to do.
You nod, still biting into your tongue as blood continues to slide down your skin, dampening your now torn up clothes.
"It's not that bad." Rafe says, looking over the cuts as best he can, but you wince when he pulls the fabric away. "You're gonna be fine, alright?"
"Yeah, yeah..." You mumble, letting your head fall back against the brush below you. Rafe is quick to take his coat off, using it to push down on the deepest part of the wound on your shoulder, trying with his other hand to apply pressure to the rest of it. You try and focus on your breathing, rather than the pain, but it's hard when a significant amount of weight is being applied to your shoulder and chest.
"I'm sorry, I have to." Rafe tells you, jaw tense as he lifts his coat to check whether or not the bleeding has slowed. You didn't even realize you were crying.
After a few minutes, he's lessened the pressure a bit, still holding the fabric firmly over your skin. "You could have ran." You mumble, voice hardly above a whisper.
"I wasn't gonna leave you." Rafe shakes his head, gently peeling away his now blood soaked windbreaker.
"You at least shouldn't have saved me. Not much point in that, is there?" You smile softly, trying to sit up and Rafe is quick to help.
"There is. You have to win." He mutters.
"I'm not winning, Rafe." You smile sadly at him. "Infection will kill me if you won't, and if no one else does first."
"No, they'll fix you up. This cut will be gone in a week, the technology they have is-"
"Rafe." You grab his attention again and he looks up to meet your eyes. They seemed to suck in all the light of the sunset above the two of you, reflecting back at him in a way that makes his breath hitch. The thought is cut short, however, when you say something that breaks his heart. "Don't give me hope like that."
"Why? You're gonna go home. I mean it." He promises. "I'll make sure of it."
"I don't think we have enough." You remind him sadly, a small smile still evident on your lips as you reach up to cup his cheek in your palm. "I never expected to go home. I'm okay with that."
Your friend shakes his head softly. "That doesn't matter. You have your family to get home to, I read that note from your dad. They need you, I can see that. For me, these games are all I was raised for. I have nothing left for me after this." He admits, avoiding eye contact with you.  "I could never forgive myself if I didn't get you home."
Tears are forming in your eyes again as you look up at him. The world is watching, and in this moment of vulnerability you feel that more than ever- despite the quiet sounds around you being only the rushing water in the nearby river and the birds chirping around you. "You're a good person, Rafe." You smile at him, watching as he gently raises his hand to yours, grabbing it in his own. "I hope you know that."
In this moment, you settle on the idea that you would die for him. You never understood last years tributes, honestly, how they were willing to die for each other instead of getting home to their own loved ones, but now you do. Completely.
Without a second thought, you find yourself leaning closer, Rafe doing the same as he kneels next to you in the dark. Your eyes meet once more, lips only an inch from touching when you hear a howl in the distance, and you snap your head to the direction it came from. "The Mutts... Already?" You say, scrambling to get up and ignoring the pain in your shoulder.
"I- I heard them earlier, they sound far away." Rafe says, trying to calm you.
"You heard them? You didn't tell me?" You ask, frantically grabbing his bow from the ground and handing it to him as he goes to pull the discarded arrows out of Blake's body.
"I didn't think it mattered!" He defends, trying to hide the panic in his voice.
"There were four left last year when they sent them out. I think... yeah I think that's right. There's four of us. We have to run." You say in a panic, pulling on his hand. "Our best bet is making it back to the cornucopia."
"It'll be too open- can't we climb a tree or something?" Rafe says, following after you as you're running through the bush now in the direction of the open field.
"I don't know if that will work, but I know we'll be safe there." You explain like it's obvious. "We have to risk it- and if you can get to the others first, if they have the same idea, we'll be at ten."
You're out of breath already, adrenaline pushing you through as you hear scattered barking getting steadily closer after one more cannon. Part of you wants to stop, turn, and force Rafe to take the win if you couldn't have it, but with any hope left, you have to try and get back to where this started. The traps was an unfortunate choice in how you got your kills, because you couldn't keep track of how many since by the time you got around to checking them, the body's would have been airlifted off if it wasn't a misfire. If you had to guess, though, you were sitting at eight.
Rafe is running similar calculations in his head as he lets you lead him by memory straight to the field, mind short-circuiting as he sees the silver moonlight reflect off the cornucopia.
You sprint across the open field, blood pouring from your undressed wound again with the intense exertion of energy. Rafe doesn't pass you, though, despite you expecting that he would. You have tunnel vision as you make it to the metal structure, practically slamming into it before you can even stop. Rafe is quick to lift you and shove you up, both of you looking over your shoulders as you struggle to hold onto the edge, kicking the sides to hold yourself up.
You finally get up, reaching down to help pull Rafe up. He grabs onto your arm for leverage, mostly pulling himself up and you wince as you feel the tension from his weight in your cuts.
You flop down onto your back on the cold surface as he climbs over you, immediately standing up with bow drawn as he intently scans the surrounding area. He's only got the two arrows left, which makes him nervous if that's all he has to defend the both of you with.
You try to settle your breathing, which only lasts for a moment until the sky lights up with the recap. You miss your cave, where you could contribute to your memorial, especially seeing the face of Maisie flash above you on the sky while the anthem plays.
You close your eyes, just listening to the music now until you hear barking just outside of where Rafe can see, and you're quickly sitting up. He draws the bow tighter, aiming in the direction the howls came from just as someone pushes out into the clearing. Rafe is aimed straight at them, bow string pressed to his cheek. He's getting dizzy, and quickly. His aim can't fail him now, he doesn't have that option.
You watch them, in the dark you think it's the other boy from district one, and in your exhaustion you can't remember his name. You wouldn't dare say it, anyways. He's screaming for help, a call you know you can't answer, and you watch as they stumble on their feet, shoes and hands digging into the ground as they try to get up, just ten or so yards from you by now.
Rafe wants to shoot just then, it would be as simple as letting his finger loose and the arrow would fly towards its target. It would be a merciful end for the boy he's trained with for years now, only a couple years younger than him. The muscle in his jaw is aching from the tension he's put on it when he forces himself to let go. He has to do it, for himself, if he wants to go home.
He misses. The yelp of one of the mutts tells you it landed in a paw or back, and you look up at Rafe who's already drawn his second. "Rafe!" You cry out, pushing yourself up onto your feet and standing behind him now.
He hates to admit that your empathy has rubbed off on him. Watching you every night carving seemingly endless names and numbers into the rocks that lined the space you stepped in. He recalls waking up one morning and seeing your name and his carved in as well, closer to where he laid by the fire, his underlined and yours with a heart at the end. Like a signature on the top of a math test. He had wondered if you always wrote your name like that, and in this moment as he releases the bow again, he knows he has to find out for himself.
It happened so fast, the mutts knocking down the boy and the arrow flying from Rafe's shaky hands into where he should have been right as the cannon sounds. You don't know that it was Rafe's arrow that did him in.
"No..." You mumble, clamouring forward and onto your knees again to look over as the boys body is torn apart by the mutts. "You had to have done it. You had to." You say, trying to get a better view.
In a second, Rafe's arms are around you and he's pulling you back from the edge, sitting now behind you with his arms wrapped tightly over your body. "It's okay.. it's over." He mumbles, kissing the side of your head as the sunlight comes over the trees. He's fighting off the urge to vomit, everything spinning around him now.
You sit with him, gripping onto his arms and crying. Nothing is happening, so you must not have made it to ten. You feel sick- your heart is in your throat and suddenly you're really hot, moving away from him to look over the edge again, this time incase you have to throw up. You freeze, looking over to where the boy's body once was. The second arrow was in the ground. He missed again.
Rafe sees it at the same time as you. He sighs, hanging his legs over the edge. "Shit... Y/N, I'm sorry." He mumbles, gently reaching over to rub your back.
"No, no. It's okay." You insist, sitting up next to him. "I knew this would happen."
"I'll get you home." Rafe says, sliding down the side of the cornucopia before you can stop him. He stumbles the landing, swaying in his walk as he heads towards the arrow lodged into the dirt.
"Wait! Wait, wait, Rafe!" You're sliding down after him, running to his side and grabbing his arm before he can get to the arrow in the ground.
He turns to you quickly, hand on your cheek and he's pressing his lips to your forehead. "Sit with me?" He asks, knees already giving out as he falls to the ground.
You're instantly on the ground beside him, practically holding his head up with your free hand as you search him visually for some kind of injury.  "What happened? Are you hurt?"
"Uh, I guess so." Rafe mutters. "Snake bite. I think."
"You didn't tell me? I could have fixed this, I could have helped..." You ramble on, his eyes dropping shut now. "Hey, eyes open."
"It's okay. Just sit with me..." He says again, smiling weakly. "Wait with me... please?"
You nod, sniffling as you fight back the tears that want to fall. "Yeah, of course. I'll stay."
Before he closes his eyes, the music starts again and your eyes are drawn up to the sky after you notice Rafe is looking first.
Then, begins a similar slideshow of faces you recognize. Ten in total. Rafe's eyes flicker with slight recollection, remembering any kills he made himself and you gasp when you see Jack. Whatever damage you had done when he tackled you on the first day must have killed him. "Rafe.." You mumble, lowering your eyes to meet his. "I think we won."
Your point is accentuated by the voice of the head gamemaker over some unseen speakers. "Introducing the Victors of the Seventy-Fifth Annual Hunger Games!"
"We did it." Rafe laughs weakly, squeezing your hand.
You fully ignore the aircraft hovering down in front of you on the grass, turning your head to look down at him. You don't say anything, neither of you do, and you finally feel your lips against his. The kiss is bad, it doesn't really work when both of you are stuck smiling ear to ear, but you don't care one bit. The only thing that matters is that you got this chance at all.
Rafe pulls away from you slowly, using all the strength he has left to lift himself onto his feet as you steady him. "He needs help!" You shout to them, and you're quickly being lead onto the plane.
"They've got really good technology," You mock what he said to you just the day before. "It'll be like it never happened in a week, okay?" You chuckle, feeling waves of happiness, worry, and relief all at once as you quickly wipe away a tear with your free hand, other arm wrapped tightly around Rafe's waist to hold him up.
He laughs, and you lean into him more, your forehead against his shoulder as the aircraft door slides shut behind you.

Strange Shower Swap
After eating a good breakfast, I began my leg stretches. They always say it's the most important thing to do before you go on your daily run, and I agree; pulling a muscle hurts like hell. I made sure each and every muscle was loosened up enough, then took one good look at myself in the mirror before getting my shoes on. Man, I really do look good.
Tumblr media
My route goes around the neighborhood, and I usually see somebody I know, so it's important to look good while I exercise. I used to wear a shirt back when I had no visible muscle, but now that I do, I want the whole world to see my sexy abs.
I walked outside, put my earbuds in, and started my run. My ultimate goal is to get to a 5 minute mile time. It seems so close yet so far, but I'm a go-getter and I'm not giving up until I achieve it. I ran past a few people - a couple of my neighbors, a few kids playing in the streets, but most importantly, my crush Ben, who was also running. He's so hot! He has the cutest little smile that can easily turn into the sexiest smirk. Even though I look the part, inside I'm really just a shy guy. He caught up behind me, until we were running side by side.
"Hey Cameron, looking good!" He said to me between breaths.
"H-hey Ben. Same to you. Nice run huh?"
"Yeah man, you got a goal?"
"Oh uh 5 minute mile time is nice."
"5 minutes?! That's pretty steep!" You got this though. Don't give up!"
"Thanks!"
"Hey so you wanna hang out later?" All of a sudden I couldn't breathe. I started coughing and had to stop. Ben immediately stopped as well.
"Hey, hey! Are you ok?"
"Y-yeah, just a bug flew into my mouth I guess, haha."
"Haha, you're pretty funny."
"And uh-yeah, we can hang. You can stop by my house later if you want."
"Cool! See you then!" We started running again but parted ways shortly as my route curved to the right, while he went to the left. I can't believe that happened! Is this a date?! I'm so excited, but nervous…
I arrived at my house, full of sweat, and immediately headed upstairs to the bathroom next to my room, only to find the shower was already occupied. I walked in, annoyed and confused as to why my dad was using it. I could see the outline of his gross obese body through the curtain.
"Dad?"
His head peeked out from the side.
"Hey Cam, what’s up?"
"Why the hell are you in my shower?"
"Hot water broke in the one downstairs or something."
"Doesn't give you permission to use my shower."
"Boy, you're lucky enough that I'm letting you stay here for the summer between college semesters. Lots of parents don't let their kids back in. My house, my rules."
"Whatever." I don't hate my dad, but he gets on my nerves a lot. Especially when he eats a load of food in front of me. Sometimes I swear he does it on purpose because he's trying to rub it in that I can't eat that much in order to maintain my body. I especially hate when he seems cool one moment, but then changes his tone, acting like a regular parent.
I had to wash up after a long run like that so I decided to head to his shower instead. A cold shower does feel nice after a run…for about 30 seconds. But soon enough I'm gonna need the steamy feel of warm water on my back. The shower downstairs wasn't as good as mine was, it was a little outdated and smelled funny. I'm not surprised the hot water broke in it.
I took my clothes off, turned the handle and walked in. He wasn't kidding, this is freezing! I washed up all that I needed when I noticed the shower water was changing colors. It started off as red and went to orange. Not only is the water cold but it's contaminated! I reached for the handle and noticed it changed colors again, yellow then green. What the hell is in the water now? It then changed to blue, then indigo and finally purple. Finally, all the colors of the rainbow poured out at the same time. What the fuck is going on with this shower?
Suddenly the hot water came back. I was glad, but I'm sure I'll have to take another shower after, so I can get all those weird colored chemicals off me. For now I was just going to enjoy the hot water. I closed my eyes for a minute.
When I opened my eyes I noticed that I wasn't even in the bad shower anymore. I was in my own shower! What the hell happened? Did I teleport or something?
"Hey, what's going on?" I was startled by my own voice. It sounded much deeper and louder than normal. I reached for the handle and noticed my hand and arm looked bigger and darker. I looked down at myself and shouted.
"WHAT THE FUCK!" I'm huge! I'm fucking obese! I have man tits! What happened? I quickly turned the shower off and examined my body. I put my hand on my tits, lifted them up, and watched them sag into the mound of fat that was my chest. Fuck, what is happening to me?! I opened the shower curtain, and carefully put my huge legs over the bathtub wall one at a time. I knew I was naked but thankfully couldn't see my dick, whatever it looked like. The mirror was fogged up so I went to my bedroom for a mirror…wait, I'm still naked. I took the towel hanging on the wall and had to lift up my flabby belly as I wrapped it around my waist. It wasn't even big enough to wrap completely, but the weight of my rolls kept it from falling down.
Tumblr media
I walked into the bedroom, approached the mirror and nearly had a heart attack. Staring right at me was my dad, only he was copying everything I was doing. This can't possibly be real! I’ve turned into my dad! I walked up closer making ridiculous expressions with his face, feeling sick to my stomach. I have no hair either! I rubbed my bald head, sliding my hand up from my forehead to the back of my neck. I stroked my beard, then ran my fingers through my entire face. This is real all right. I took a step backwards, eyeing my massive frame and did a little dance, shaking back and forth, the saggy flesh going everywhere. I look awful! How did this happen? Whatever weird water came out of that shower downstairs somehow swapped the bodies of me and my dad! But wait, if I'm in his body then he must be…
Suddenly the door opened and there stood me. My body, I mean. It was weird looking at myself, moving of its own accord, not following what I'm doing. He was naked, wrapped up in a towel.
"Cam, what the hell is going on?" He spoke with my voice, which caught me off guard. Do I really sound like that?
"You tell me, dad!" Once again his deep voice came out of my mouth. "The one time you force me to use your own shower, we end up swapping bodies!"
"I don't know what the hell happened either! But it's pretty nice! Don't think I've ever been this fit in my life! I feel so nimble!" He looked down at his chest and rubbed it. "And are these abs? Wow! I have actual abs!"
"Hey stop touching me! Remember I'm trapped in YOUR gross body!" With that he started laughing.
"Oh, Cam! That's…hey I'm sorry. But it's kinda funny! Just you…you run everyday! The irony!" I wanted to punch him so bad, but since he was in my body, I'd rather not injure…myself.
"Well if we're gonna be stuck like this, you're gonna have to do all the hard work running then. Or you'll end up fat once again!"
"Aw shit. Well, I'm young at least." Oh god, I was so focused on the weight gain that I didn't consider how much older I was now. I just lost about 25 years of my life! And even if I started running again, it'll take years to even get close to what my body was before…and I'll be full of saggy loose skin! I’m not about to let my dad tease me nonstop for this so I changed the subject.
"Well, if we're gonna be stuck like this, we might as well get dressed."
"Right on. I left my clothes in the bathroom. And you have some clothes in the closet somewhere?"
"Yeah."
I walked back into the now clear bathroom, and found my dad's clothes laying on the countertop. I slipped the towel off, lifting up my belly once again, and put on a giant pair of boxers. In my old body, these would've been like a blanket on me! It was a weird feeling, having a part of my skin go over my underwear like that. My gut was nearly touching my knees! I pulled on a faded green polo shirt, realizing how hard it is to put on a shirt when your chest isn’t flat. I pulled it over my man tits, and all the way down to my hanging belly. I then put on a pair of blue jeans and belt, initially tucking my fat in underneath them. I realized how awkward that looked so I settled for pulling my belly over it. It'll be obvious that I'm fat no matter what, but at least I won't look so round. I walked into my room just as my dad, wearing one of my tight black tank tops and basketball shorts, began walking out.
Tumblr media
"Wait where are you going?"
"To the grocery store! I was going to go anyway before all of this, and well…" For the first time since the swap, his posture changed and he looked upset.
"Yeah?"
"I mean I'm so fit, and young again! I just want to go out in public and kinda show myself off you know?"
"I get it. Just…fine. As long as you don't hit on anyone or do anything embarrassing. I have a rep you know!”
"Yeah of course! Nothing weird! It's cool! I'll give you some uhh privacy now." I rolled my eyes and he noticed. "Hey, you'll get used to it! It's…..just stay out of trouble!" With that he closed the door. I could hear him walking, no, running, down the stairs, picking up his keys and stepping out the front door.
Well shit. What am I supposed to do now? I walked over to sit on my bed, the weight of my dad's belly on my thighs. How does he live like this? I feel so immobile. I moved over to lie down on the bed, my whole body jiggling as I tried to get myself comfortable. My bed is so small! I started feeling drowsy, maybe because of the mental exhaustion of everything that just happened, but probably because my dad's a lazy guy in general.
I woke up a few hours later to the sound of the doorbell. Fuck, I'm still my dad. I tried to get up as I always do but my gut was weighing me down so I kinda just rolled over and got up that way. My dad has keys, why would he need to…oh god. NO. NO!!! It's gotta be Ben! We were gonna have our date! Well not a date, but hangout. He can't see me like this! But I can’t just leave him wondering what happened! I started running to the front door, my belly and tits moving chaotically as I tried not to trip. By the time I reached the door, I was out of breath. This feels so pathetic; I was doing so good with my health! I opened the door to find Ben smiling.
Tumblr media
"Oh hey Mr. Parker! What's up?" He really thinks I'm my dad!
"Oh uh hi Ben! I uh heard you were coming for a date?" Shit! Not only do I suck at trying to imitate my dad, but I HAD to call it a date?!
"A date, well, I mean it could be…but hey well is Cameron here?" Did he just blush?
"Cameron? Oh yeah he's uh upstairs." I am an absolutely terrible liar.
"Oh, can I see him?"
"No."
"No?"
"I mean, he's not here. Well he is but…"
"Mr. Parker, are you ok?"
"I uh…Ben…look. I-I don't know how to say this but. I AM Cameron."
"What?"
"Something happened a few hours ago after my run and I switched bodies with my dad."
"Oh, you're fucking with me!"
"No really! Here, during our run today when you approached me, I started coughing and said I swallowed a fly, but actually I was just nervous around you."
"So that's what happened? Cameron, is that really you?"
"Yeah it's me. I look like my gross obese dad. I'm trapped like this for who knows how long. I don't know how to get out!”
"Interesting…" He seemed even more flustered than he was before.
"Are...you good?"
"Ok ok. You confessed. Now I'll confess. I uh- think you're fucking hot."
"R-really? I mean, sorry to let you down but my dad has the hot bod right now."
"No I mean, I like you, well your personality and all; I think you're really cute. But your body…your new body, just. Yes!"
"No fuckin way! You're turned on by my dad's body?"
"Yeah…" Suddenly a really naughty idea popped into my head.
"Well, it's still me in here even if the body isn't mine."
"I'm listening…"
"Why don't we head up to my room to see what happens?"
"Please….yes…"
We walked up to my room, and within seconds of closing the door, clothes were already flying off.
"You have NO idea how much of a big fantasy this is for me. Your mind, and coolness, but your dad's porky body."
We hopped onto my bed, and cuddled a bit, him massaging my tits and rubbing my nipples. The sensation went straight to my dick. Ben nuzzled his head in my belly and squeezed every inch of it. This is incredible. As I lay there seeing his face sink into my fat, he lifted up my belly and started sucking my dick. I still couldn't see it, or knew how big it actually was, but I was getting hard quickly. He was no doubt an expert at oral. With each motion of his mouth, I was getting closer and closer to cumming, but I knew I had to hang on in order to fully enjoy the moment. This wasn't how I ever expected to fuck Ben, but I didn’t care. Being a fat guy fucking a tiny twink is amazing. As he stopped sucking my dick, I could see a sparkle in his eye.
"Hey, lay on me."
"Huh?"
"Yeah lay on me. Smother me in your flab rolls."
I was a little hesitant but Ben positioned himself on his back and slowly, I let myself sink into him. I could barely feel him underneath it all, but his dick was sticking straight up, touching mine. He grabbed my face and we started making out. With each kiss he dug his tongue further and further into my mouth until he was practically penetrating me. He rubbed my bald head as he continued. I began humping his chest with my dick, which prompted another sparkle in his eye. He turned around and got on all fours.
"You’re welcome inside…"
I always suspected he was a bottom! It was a lot harder to find the hole with my gut in the way, but luckily he was extremely loose. Sticking my dick in his asshole, I slowly moved him onto his chest, flattening him once again, but this time my dick inside. I started grinding, Ben moaning with each motion. As I went even faster he moaned even louder. At this point I was sweating like a pig, which only seemed to turn him on even more. I grinded further. Harder and harder, I was smothering him under a huge amount of weight. I can't imagine how that could be comfortable being crushed like that but he didn't seem to mind. I reached my giant hands under his chest, gathering all my strength, and flipped us both upside down like pancakes. With Ben now on his back, sinking into my fat, I started grinding harder until he finally came at the same time I did, exploding everywhere as I filled his hole with my fluids. He lied on my belly, both of us out of breath.
You know, I could get used to this. Ben's into big guys, and I'd love to fulfill his fantasy again. I don't think my dad would mind having my body a little while longer as long as I can have his...

Destroyer of Foes Part 40
Tumblr media
📝: Whole series is on my P atreon and will remain there until I’m done publicly posting Phantoms of Time which I’ve been bad at posting so we’re just going to pray on it 🙏🏽
-
“Ow.”
Your rear end plopped down on the mat as you fell backwards, bouncing yourself just a little from the force as the practice weapon hit the floor. You were covered in a thin layer of sweat from the overexertion from the practice. Since the incident and after your healing, your sparring matches have gotten tougher. You could hold your own for a decent amount of time which is good for the fact that you were fighting orcs.
“You’re getting better. We just need to continue this improvement. Any second longer is just as important in a fight if you can hold off a death.” Zahala resumes a casual position and leans against the staff he’s been using.
You looked up to him from the ground and nodded. You raised a palm to the sky and pointed it in his direction. “Look. My calluses!”
“Something to be proud of.” The albino grinned before walking over to sit in front of you and take your hand. “Something most princesses would never be exposed to.”
You laughed. “I am not like most.”
“You continue to prove that to us.” He patted the top of your hand and leaned back to rest. “How are you feeling?”
“Good.” You nodded, taking your hand back to look at the new marks again. “I have recovered fully. It didn’t seem to mess with me. I sleep through the night just fine. I’m not scared to be alone but I’ve also not really been alone yet. Uzul hands me off to someone like a child going to nursery.”
“He does these things because he loves you.”
“I have no doubt about that.” You agreed. “He’s just a tough cookie. He reminds me of my dad.”
Zahala laughed. “Don’t tell him that.”
“It’s not a bad thing.” You wrinkled your nose.
“I just…” Zahala clicked his tongue in thought. “I don’t think you realize the gravity of who Uzul is. You’ve been exposed to this world through Noverak, a capital orc city. You’ve seen him here and you’ve seen the aura of his presence in your kingdom.”
“I remember seeing the war party come in.” You thought back on that first day. “He was…the equivalent of what true power means. My dad is like that but I don’t see him like that because he’s always been my dad. I guess it’s the same way with Uzul. He was rough around the edges when we started but now he’s my snuggle bug. I’m unable to see him differently.”
Zahala’s cheeks puffed out as he tried not to burst into laughter. You gave him a look and he did a little wiggle in his spot as if to disperse the amusement. “The Destroyer of Foes.” He waved a hand in the air as if the words would appear before the both of you. “He’s a God amongst us. Don’t tell him I said that. He’s a brother to me. Family. I would die for him. He has brought great respect and power to our kingdom, to our race! No one thought that orcs would be like this. Hundreds of years ago, orcs would just dumb mindless angry beings. There was nothing solid in people's minds about us. We weren’t anything. The foundation that we have now is thanks to his family and a few other lucky families that fought for our every right. Uzul comes from many prestigious orcs that have made our life as magnificent as it is.”
“Just rich with history.”
“And achievements.” Zahala continued. “Uzul has been great since he was born and continues a powerful reign. Pressure and expectations do not phase him. Most young orcs nowadays look at him as a role model. He’s smart, respectful, a warrior, and a leader. He brought us peace with you guys, the human kingdom. Trade routes are no longer filled with terror. Our imports and exports are making both kingdoms money. It’s been profitable for not only the elite but the citizens as well. Plus, look at Krex. He’s about to start a new home.”
“How do you think that will go? I feel like Uzul will be greatly relieved once he’s gone.”
Zahala hummed as he thought about it. “It’s not like Krex is a threat. It’s just that the boy gets under his nerves. There’s a certain level of respect that they both give each other but that’s about it. They aren’t going to be sipping tea with each other.”
“Such a shame. They’re both good people.”
He smirked. “But you definitely like one more than the other.”
You laughed. “I love Uzul. He was just problematic at the beginning so it’s no wonder I leaned so heavily on Krex.”
“Plus Krex is a human lover so he was very happy to be leaned on.” Zahala shook his head. “I’ve never seen a man more obsessed with humans.” You both laughed at that. The humor died out as the two of you were content to relax in peace. “Are you excited to get married?”
You smiled fondly. “I’m actually really excited. I was about terrified the first time so to feel all this is amazing. It’s going to be like a dream.”
“Good.” Zahala seemed joyful about it. “All jokes aside, I am honestly excited for Uzul to be married. I was worried that he would die alone because he was so hard to deal with. Romantic ties just weren’t his thing. He’ll be a great husband and father to you.”
The thought of kids made you happy. A family. The worries of parenthood would always be there but to think that you would settle down and raise a family with an orc that you adored made your heart flutter. You giggled and flipped back against the mat to look at the ceiling of the room. “It’s going to work out, isn’t it?”
“I think so.”
You heard movement and a voice joined in the conversation. “You are learning so much. What a good use of time.”
You wiggled and looked towards the entrance to find Uzul in casual attire, leaning against the doorway. Zahala tilted his head back to make eye contact with the grey orc. “We’re gossiping.”
“Is that why my ears have been burning all morning?” Uzul asked.
“Of course.” You smiled his way.
Zahala nodded. “Any news?”
“She’s been spotted in a few of the elven kingdoms.” Uzul entered the room and stood on the mat with his hands in his pockets.
“Why the elves?” You asked your thoughts out loud.
Zahala agreed with that question. “That’s an odd location to go to. The elves are pompous bastards and won’t look too kindly to exiled orcs. You think she’d have gone to the dwarves or a mixed kingdom.”
“I do not know the way a crazy woman thinks.” Uzul spit out.
You waved your hand at him. “Don’t be huffy.”
“Also your humans grow closer. The riders are escorting them. They’ll be here tomorrow.” Uzul moved closer to stand next to you two. “You look sticky.”
“I sweat!!!!” You wailed loudly and looked at Zahala. “He beats me profusely.”
“As a winner should.” The albino bounced up and gave Uzul the practice staff. “Would you like a try?”
“To beat my wife or you?” Uzul snorted and took the staff. “I don’t use fake weapons.”
Zahala just made a face. “I’m not using blades with you.”
Uzul grinned and poked him with the stick. “Scared?”
The orc laughed in his face. “Are you kidding?”
You sat up and banged on the mat. “Fight! Fight! Fight!”
Uzul pointed a finger at you. “You are a fiend.”
“A heathen.” Zahala added.
“Will you spar sometime soon then? Wouldn’t it be good for me to see some actual warriors fight?” You requested.
Uzul nodded and handed the stick back to Zahala. “We will spar sometime. Come on, we need to get you cleaned up. We have some things to do.” The orc came over to you and picked you up off the ground.
“What are we doing?”
“We need to pick out some options for the wedding.”
“Like cake!” You yelled up at him, patting your stomach as it growled for nutrition.
“Among other things.” Uzul took your hand and waved to Zahala before leaving the area. “We’ll be choosing a few things for your diplomatic fellows as well as the wedding.”
“Are you worried about them coming?” You looked up at him.
The corner of his mouth curled up. “No.”
Typical orc. “You can’t fix all your problems with violence.”
“Are you telling me I can’t murder them if they displease me?”
“Mhmm.” You squeezed his hand and laughed.
The grey orc sighed. “I shall play nice.”
“Will you?” You teased.
He side-eyed you. “Only for a short time.”
“I’d really appreciate it.” You gave him a beaming smile as the two of you made it back to your shared room and inside.
“I am only comfortable with them being here for a short time. Just because we’re at peace doesn’t mean all has been forgiven.”
“I understand that.” You agreed with what he said. There were lots of things that had been pushed aside for the good of the world. Uzul walked you to the bathroom and kissed the top of your head. “I don’t expect you to roll over if they’re rude to you. I’m sure there’s still lingering racism.”
Uzul just scratched the underside of his chin and said no more, leaving you in the bathroom with your comment. You had to say that Uzul was a very understanding man and his quiet temperament was something that was easily mistaken for disagreement on everything. He was very inward with his thoughts and opinions. You’ve barely scratched the surface of what makes the cogs in his mind turn but you could be the person that had gone the farthest.
You sank into the water once you were ready to get clean and let the warmth relax your future sore muscles. You let out a loud groan and lowered yourself down until your chin hit the water. “Hey!” You yelled out, thinking about too many things as your mind flooded with things to do. You heard his grunt from the other room. “Do we have to be fancy for their visit?”
“Fancy?”
“Like wear fancy, uptight orc clothes?”
He laughed and you heard him get up. “The only orcs that wear impractical clothes are orcs that were raised by you guys.”
“You say that with distaste.” You squint your eyes at him.
The orc stands in the doorway with an amused look. “You were the one in a corset when I first met you. I believe breathing was not necessary.”
“I didn’t think my ribs and spine have ever felt better.” You smiled at him. “I didn’t think it was possible to wear less than five heavy layers.”
“Impractical.” Uzul moved further into the room until he was beside you, looking down. “Just dress however you want. You don’t have to present yourself as something you are not for me.”
“So if I come to breakfast in a full set of armor, that’s fine?”
He laughed and placed a hand on his chest. “Whatever you like.”
“I’m just thinking of options.”
He leaned down and got on eye-level with you. His hand reached out and light touched your cheek. You smiled and hummed at his touch, closing your eyes as the comfort truly washed over you.
“We’ll work on our hair in the morning. I’d like to have a good night's sleep so I’m not in a terrible mood when they get here.”
“You’re really dreading this.” You murmured.
“I’m assuming the worst.”
You opened your eyes and perked up, “How about try something new for me?” Uzul raised an eyebrow at you as you leaned forward to cup his face. “Just be optimistic.”
He huffed in your hands. Uzul reminded you of an old dog at that moment. One of those pets you’ve had for a long time and are just set in their ways. You pressed your lips against his softly and smiled against his mouth. He touched foreheads with you and stayed like that for a great while. “We need to go back.”
“I know. I’m just cherishing the moment.”
“As am I.” Uzul murmured to you as he truly felt comfortable. “This is peaceful.”
You were happy with him.” We should do this more often.”
Uzul kissed you quickly before standing up. “I put some new clothes on the bed.”
“You’re so sweet.”
He gave you a look. “Yes, definitely a characteristic that I’ve been described with before.”
You laughed and sank into the water. “Cute and cuddly.”
“Don’t spread gossip about me. I’ll lose my reputation.”
You quickly washed up. “Oh, yes. The Destroyer of Foes!”
Uzul watched you. “I am a tough man.”
You looked over your shoulder. “A hard man.”
He opened his mouth before closing it and shaking his head at you. “Hurry up.”
“You want me stinky. I used to have handmaidens that did this for me.”
“A pampered pooch if ever I have seen.” Uzul left the bathroom again.
You were amused. You hurried up your cleaning process and bounced out, yanking a towel with you as you dried off. Uzul was on the bed in a comfortably laid down position. You eyed your target before running from the bathroom to the bed and plopping down on him with your full weight. He didn’t even flinch when you landed but he pulled you into a hug. “You’re still damp.”
“I’m using you to dry off.”
“Our bed is damp.”
“It will air dry.” You tried to roll in place.
He wrapped you up in a hug tight and hauled you upright as he sat up as well. “You’re just a heathen. Not a princess in sight. Get dressed.”
You laughed as his fingers skimmed across your flesh and started to tickle you. “Noooo!”
“Yes.” He continued his attack.
You are laughing loudly and pushing against him, wiggling until you slipped into the floor with Uzul sitting up above looking down at you with a joyous expression. “Now are you ready?”
You were catching your breath, inhaling deeply to fill your lungs. “Ready.” You tilted your head back and smiled.
“Then let’s go.”

Farrah
For years, Billy's dreamed of dressing up like Farrah Fawcett for Halloween, and finally, he's getting his chance.
***
The year Billy turned nine, Charlie’s Angels premiered. One night, he walked into the living room after he was supposed to be in bed to find his mom watching it. Neil was working late that night, and sometimes, when he worked late, Billy’s mom would let him watch tv with her, as long as he was quiet. He’d pulled back the covers and tiptoed down the hall, and what he saw on the screen enthralled him immediately.
Three beautiful women, fighting bad guys while all dressed up. He slunk up to his mom and sat down by her side, quiet as a mouse. He couldn’t take his eyes off the blond, with her feathered hair and beautiful eyeshadow. It was almost October, so when the show cut to commercial break, he turned to his mom and asked her if he could be that woman for Halloween. She’d been bugging him to pick out his costume, so she would be happy that he’d finally made a decision.
Instead, she frowned slightly, asking him if maybe he’d like to be Superman or a football player instead.
“No,” he’d said, shaking his head. “I want to be her.” He pointed at the woman who he would later learn was named Farrah Fawcett.
“I’m sorry, baby,” she’d replied. “You can’t go out like that. You know your dad would like it if you went as a sports star, or maybe a cowboy! Remember that hat you pointed out at the store last week?”
Billy now deeply regretted the cowboy hat he’d pointed out, practically begging her to buy it for him, so he could dress up like the Lone Ranger. He wanted his mom to feather his hair and put pink lipstick on him. He wanted to wear tiny little shorts and boots and fight crime. His mom wouldn’t hear his arguments though, so he ended up wearing his baseball uniform, much to the delight of his mother. It didn’t feel right though. It never felt right.
***
Even in their late teens, the residents of Hawkins took their Halloween costumes seriously, starting the planning for them months in advance. Chrissy had first brought up the topic of costumes in July, deciding that it would be a great idea to do group costumes. She declared that she, Heather, and Robin would go as Charlie’s Angels, and Billy, Steve, and Eddie would go as the Three Stooges.
Everyone was really excited except Billy and Robin, but Billy loved how into his costume Steve was getting, so he didn’t say anything. Robin had no such qualms about upsetting her girlfriend though. She kept complaining to Heather that the shorts Chrissy had picked out for her were too short, and the top was too low cut. Every time she was asked to try it on, so that Heather and Chrissy could make sure that everything looked just as it should, she would wriggle around, pulling at the fabric, saying she felt like she was practically naked.
Billy would look longingly at the outfit and the feathered wig, trying not to be too obvious as his mind wandered, images of himself in that same outfit flashing through his mind. He was going as Larry, and the bland grey suit and ugly wig had him down in the dumps. Steve and Eddie were so excited that he didn’t say anything though.
One such night, Billy and Robin were tasked with picking up pizza for dinner. They set out in the Camaro, and as they drove, Robin brought up the subject of the costumes. “I can’t believe they’re making me wear that hideous outfit,” she huffed, slumped down in her seat, arms crossed.
“I wish my costume was that nice,” Billy mumbled, rolling his eyes. He couldn’t help it, the jealously was seeping through. It was just so frustrating that Robin couldn’t see how cool her outfit was. She was lucky to get to go as such a beautiful badass.
“What?” Robin asked, turning towards him.
His cheeks heated up with a blush. He hadn’t meant for Robin to hear him complaining. “Nothing,” he said, eyes focused on the road ahead, hands clutching the steering wheel.
Suddenly her eyes got large. “Billy, do you want to be Farrah Fawcett for Halloween?”
“No, of course not, Buckley,” he snapped, shaking his head. “Why would I want to dress up as Farrah Fawcett? I’m a guy.”
The corner of Robin’s mouth curved with a small smile. “There’s nothing wrong with playing dress up, you know that, right, Billy? I personally think you’d look beautiful. And I’m sure Steve would too. Do you by any chance want to trade costumes? I’d much rather wear a suit than a tiny little shorts. Really, you’d be doing me a favour.”
“Sure,” Billy said slowly, after thinking about it for a moment. Robin was giving him an out, a way to make it seem like he was just switching costumes for her. “I’ll do it, but only as a favour for you, Buckley.”
They picked up the pizza and headed back to Steve’s. As they were sitting around the living room, eating the last of the pizza, Robin told the rest of the group the plan. “As soon as I said I was uncomfortable, Billy, great guy that he is, offered to swap costumes with me!”
Everyone looked at her in mild confusion, trying to figure out if she was talking about the same cranky asshole that they knew so well, but in the end they all shrugged, agreeing with the new plan. “It doesn’t matter to me,” Chrissy said, smiling. “I’ll be fun to get Billy all dolled up! He won’t even need a wig!”
Billy smiled, resting his head on Steve’s shoulder as the other boy wrapped his arm around him and pulled Billy in close, kissing the top of his head. “That was really nice of you, Billy. I’m sure Robin really appreciates it. And you’re going to look gorgeous in those short shorts. I just know it.”
***
After some searching in Chicago, Chrissy and Heather had managed to find booty shorts and too white boots in his size. They paired it with a white bikini top they’d found in a thrift shop and declared his costume complete.
His jaw dropped the first time he tried the whole outfit on. He felt gorgeous, and like his dream was finally coming true, even if it was ten years late. He started a countdown to Halloween on his calendar, elated when the day finally arrived.
He sat still as a statue on Heather’s bathroom counter as Chrissy and Heather blew out his hair, feathering the sides, and then applied makeup to his face. Frosty blue eyeshadow and soft pink blush, coating his lips with lipstick, almost the same shade as Farrah wore on the show.
They didn’t look in the mirror the whole time, but he sat patiently as he could, knowing it would be more fun to look at himself once he had his costume on. As soon as they were done, he hopped off the counter and ran into her room to pull his outfit on. He’d shaved his legs for the occasion, and the thin nylons slid up his legs smooth as butter. He wriggled into the shorts, zipped up the boots and then Heather came in and tied the halter straps on the bikini top for him.
“Ok, are you ready to see yourself?” She asked with a flourish, turning him around so he faced the mirror.
His eyes snapped open, growing large as he walked closer to the mirror, taking himself in from all angles. He was unable to keep the grin off his face. He felt beautiful, more so than he ever had before. He heard a wolf whistle and turned around, finding Steve, framed in the doorway, grey suit, and curly wig on his head, staring at Billy like he couldn’t tear his eyes away.
“You look stunning, baby,” he whispered as he approached Billy, wrapping his arms around him from behind. He no doubt, just the same as Billy, was imagining what fun they’d have in bed that night as Steve peeled Billy’s costume off after the party.
Billy grinned, placing his hands over Steve’s. “Thank you, pretty boy,” he whispered back, staring at their reflection. He did feel stunning, but more than that, he finally felt right.

Youth - Chapter 2
Ship: Eddie Munson/Reader Rating: Mature Warning: Vomitting & very brief non-graphic nudity Tags: Hurt/comfort, sickfic, touch-starved Eddie, pre-canon Summary:
You take care of Eddie when he's sick.
Text below!
Chapter 1 here.
You wait until he’s slept for a good three hours (roughly the length of Lord of the Rings) before you get up. Taking extreme measures to slip out from under him and replace your body with a pillow, you pause, watching him make sure he keeps sleeping. When he doesn’t stir, you breathe a sigh of relief. Rewinding the tape to roughly where he fell asleep, you put it back on for him before swiftly exiting his room.
It’s late, you know that. So you head to the phone and dial-up your home number. It takes two rings before your mother’s voice is coming through the phone:
“(Y/N)!? Where have you been!”
“Sorry, mom, I know, I should’ve been home but…” you take a really deep breath, facing away from Eddie’s room so you don’t wake him. “Eddie got really sick at school. Throwing up sick. I was the one to get him home, and I thought since I’d been in close contact with him it was best not to bring whatever bug he’s got home. I’m gonna stay here a while until he’s recovered, just to be safe so I don’t get you contagious.”
“Oh thank God, I thought something awful happened to you. What with the disappearances not too long ago. Yes, hon, I understand if you want to stay there - I can stop by with something to eat for the both of you if you’d like.”
“That would actually be amazing,” you say with a soft laugh. “I know it might be too much to ask but could you grab the movies from my room? Just pick out whatever so I don’t go insane with my own thoughts. He’s not that big of a talker when he’s like this.”
“Will do. I’ll see you in about… how does an hour or so sound? I’ll defrost that chicken broth in the freezer and get you something proper to eat. Don’t want to overwhelm his stomach now.”
“You are seriously the greatest. Say hi to dad for me, I probably won’t be back for a few days just to be safe we’re not contagious.”
“I understand, sweetie. Ill see you in a jiff.”
“Bye, mom,” you say, hanging up the phone.
Taking a deep breath, you lean against the counter and stare at Wayne’s hat collection. You were lucky to have a mom who could see past Eddie’s whole… Eddie. Especially since she could bring you food as you didn’t have three days worth of takeout money. Eddie might, judging by the wrappers everywhere, but you weren’t about to make him put out while he’s sick. He can just pay you back later with some weed and jam sessions.
You check on him every so often, leaving the door open just a smidge so that you can make sure he’s still in fact, breathing. He’s out cold (thankfully).
So, you grab a bit of weed from his stash and your bong from his room. You left it here as it was easier than having it in your own house. Your parents were tolerant, but not that tolerant.
With one final glance back at Eddie, you open the door to the trailer and take a seat on the steps. It’s still early evening as you pack the bowl and click on your lighter. It's not quite the same as smoking with Eddie. It lacks his signature conversation and excessive hand gestures. To be honest, it feels a tad too alone for your tastes, dragging down your mood and impacting your high. He’s barely a few feet away and yet he feels so out of reach.
You persevere anyway. You need something to take the edge off the flutter in your chest when he looked at you with those puppy dog eyes. Now was absolutely not the time to go about suffering over a crush.
Leaning back, your head hits the trailer door, a smoke ring drifting through the air.
You sit on the steps until you see your mother’s car out of the corner of your eye. Forcing yourself to stand you set the bong on the counter inside the trailer and step back outside. She’s grabbing something from the passenger seat as you walk up to her.
“Hey, that didn’t take long,” you say, holding out your hands to take the containers.
“It took an hour and a half,” she points out, passing you a thermometer. “Here, because I doubt he has one.”
“Thanks, thanks. Times kinda weird when you’re taking care of someone sick so forgive me -” she nods her head - “Anyway, should probably get this into the trailer. I don’t really want to get you sick so uh…”
“(Y/N) I’ve taken care of you while sick countless times. A brief moment in the contamination zone won’t affect me,” she chides. You swear if she didn’t have a box of VHS tapes in her arms her hands would be on her hips. Spiritually they’re definitely there.
“Right, right,” you mumble to yourself, letting her into the trailer.
You’re immediately reminded why you hate trailers when the sound of Eddie taking a leak provides “ambience” for the two of you. You set the leftovers down on the counter, shaking your head. To you, it’s normal. Not that you particularly want it to be, but there’ve been plenty of times where he’s paused a movie and gotten up to piss, gracing you with the sound as you try and ignore it until he’s back.
“Forgive him, he was supposed to be asleep,” you dismiss, baffled that he even had anything left in his system to be turned into urine.
“I’m a grown woman. I’ve changed your diapers. I’m sure I can handle hearing your boyfriend pee,” she says, setting the VHS tapes down on the coffee table.
“He’s not my -”
“Hey, (Y/N), I know this is going to sound pathetic but could you make me some soup? I kinda… I don’t feel like vomiting anymore. Starvin’ actually,” Eddie says, cutting you off as he wanders out of the bathroom, using the wall as leverage. “Mrs.(Y/L/N)?! What are you doing here?”
Your mother simply smiles and nods her head.
“Sure he isn’t,” she chirps to you before heading for the door. “Eddie, dear, I hope you get better soon. If you kids need anything else I’m a phone call away. Oh, and remember to wait at least three hours after the last time you puke before eating.”
“Thanks for everything, mom!” you call as she shuts the door. “You’re welcome, dear,” she chirps.
With that, the trailer door shuts and she’s gone. Leaving you alone with a very confused Eddie.
You sigh, shaking your head before turning your attention to Eddie. He’s deflated against the wall, scratching his stomach with his shirt pooling around his wrist. He can barely keep his eyes open and you're fairly certain if the wall wasn’t there he’d have fallen over.
“Come here, let’s check your temperature,” you hum, taking out the tiny thermometer. “Then we can get some food in your system. My mom brought chicken soup.”
He grins at this, wobbly and lopsided:
“I always liked your mom’s cooking. Makes me feel like home.”
“You’re delirious,” you say as you shake the thermometer down. “Open wide for me.”
He grins and sticks his tongue out in a sluggish version of the Devil’s naked tongue. You sigh and shake your head, still shaking the thermometer down.
“No this goes under your tongue you goof, come on, work with me and you get to pick out the next movie,” you insist.
“Thought next one was Indiana Jones,” he slurs, putting his tongue away.
“You have to corporate first. My mom brought a bunch of my old ones,” you inform him, setting the thermometer under his tongue. “There, now, stay here for two minutes. Think you can handle that?”
He nods diligently and you accept it, turning your attention to reheating the soup. You watch the clock to make sure that he’s not just standing there, though you hadn’t anticipated him to be watching it as well. It’s barely been two minutes when he rests his head on your shoulder, arms wrapped around your waist.
“Someone’s impatient,” you laugh, praying he can’t hear your heartbeat as you take the thermometer out of his mouth.
“Hungry,” he mumbles, watching you read it.
“Yikes,” you mumble. “One-hundred and two degrees Fahrenheit. One more and we’d need to call you a doctor.”
“Can I still get soup?”
“Yes, you still get soup,” you assure him, patting his hand. “Come on, let’s get you to the couch and so you’re not overexerting yourself.”
He allows you to lead him to the couch, settling him down with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders so he won't get cold. You leave him in a bundle to return to the stove, reheating the soup for him. You can feel his eyes on you as you work, unsure of what to say and knowing he won’t be much for conversation. So you let silence permeate the trailer until you settle down next to him, the bowl in your lap. He’s turned his whole body to face you, still snuggled in his blanket.
“Open,” you request, filling the spoon with broth.
He looks from the spoon to you, nervously.
“Everything alright?”
“Yeah… I just… is it weird that you’re feeding me? Shouldn’t I do that?”
“Think you can do this or do you want me to? I promise I won’t tell anyone if you don’t,” you ask, offering him the spoon.
He considers it for a quiet moment, curling in on himself in the blankets. You can see he’s still shivering despite the fuzzy fabric.
“... you. Too cold.”
“Alright,” you say, keeping your tone neutral and level.
You’re actually hoping that he’s going to keep it down. He’s gotten three spoonfuls in, going back for his fourth. Even if he takes really long pauses in between, he’s showing promise.
You know the instant he puffs his cheeks out a little that this isn’t going to end well. Quickly setting the bowl on the coffee table, Eddie groans.
“Need help to the bathroom?” you ask tentatively, reaching to take his blanket.
“Mmm,” he says while shaking his head.
You arch an eyebrow, taking a seat back on the couch. You’ve barely sat down when he’s bolting for the bathroom. Without a second thought, you go after him, making sure his braid isn’t near his face while he rejects the soup. It feels like forever before he finally stops, and you’re not even the one throwing up. You rub his back, letting him rest his head on his arm currently wrapped around the toilet.
“Please… make it stop,” he whimpers, his eyes squeezed shut.
“I wish I could, Eds. Let’s get you a cold shower, see if we can bring the fever down and get some of ick off,” you say, standing up to turn on the shower.
“Again? I just had one though,” he mumbles without moving.
“Eddie, you are super clingy right now and I am not letting you cling to me while covered in toilet germs and sweat,” you point out, reaching to help him stand.
“Fair point,” he mutters, stripping out of his shirt. You pull the elastic out of his hair to let him wash it.
“Mhm. Let’s get you nice and cool, then we can watch Indiana Jones,” you remind him, helping him to step out of his pants and into the shower.
“You’re too good for me. Don’t deserve this,” he mumbles as you shut the curtain.
“I wouldn’t be doing this if I didn’t whole-heartedly disagree,” you point out. “Now get clean. I’m going to go eat something and then I’ll come help you out.”
“Go eat, ‘can wash myself,” he dismisses you, waving his hand behind the curtain.
“Just call if you need me,” you say as you step out of the bathroom, leaving the door open.
You opt to wash your hands in the sink before getting your own dinner ready. Thankfully you can just pop it into his microwave, wait two minutes, then have a hot meal. Your mother's cooking was always the best, even if you ate it quickly so as to not leave the smell lingering through the trailer when you got Eddie out of the shower.
The sound of vomiting interrupts you twice, and you plug your ears until it’s over. Not once does he call for you, and you feel bad, knowing that he wants to let you eat. Or perhaps he just doesn’t want you to see him naked more than you have to. Which is entirely fair.
Either way, you finish your food, knocking on the open door:
“Ready to get out yet?”
“Yeah,” he slurs as the water shuts off.
“Think you can dry yourself while I get you some clean clothes?”
“I got it,” he confirms.
You dip into his room, grabbing more comfy clothes and bringing them back with you. He’s slow to dry off, still trying to get his hair when you return.
“I’ll do your hair after, just dry the rest of your body,” you encourage him, holding his clothes.
He does as he’s told without a fight (which is so very rare for him it’s uncanny). Once he’s dry and dressed you’ve gotten him back to bed, Indiana Jones in the VHS player as you sit on the edge of his bed. There’s a bowl next to the bed just in case he vomits again.
“Can you braid my hair again?” he asks quietly, barely able to keep his eyes open.
“Are you just trying to fall asleep on me again?” you question, fidgeting with his hair tie.
“... please?”
You really need to learn how to say no to his puppy-dog eyes because they have you sitting behind him once more, running your fingers through his hair.
“Your hair is an utter mess. Do you own a comb?” you ask incredulously, knowing he does, just not where.
“Desk,” he grunts.
You grab it from where it’s pressed between a DnD module and a music notebook. You pick up the notebook, setting it down on the bed.
“Oh, no, don’t look in that. It’s just shitty lyrics I’m working on,” he immediately says, piquing your curiosity.
“Oh? Any new songs I should be aware of?” you question as you sit down behind him, taking a comb to his messy hair.
“No,” he says quietly, tucking his knees to his chest.
“Nothing?”
“Nothin’.”
“If you say so…”
You know he’s definitely hiding something from you, but, his hair takes top priority. So you comb out every knot you come across, letting him stay quiet and watch the movie. You know talking isn’t the greatest when you’re nauseous.
He falls asleep before you can even finish braiding his hair, drooling on your shirt with his arms around your waist. You have a feeling this is going to become a regular occurrence, which you don’t exactly mind. He’s always cuddly when he’s high, no matter who he’s with. You’re not surprised he’s the same way when sick; even with a fever that high, he’s still shivering.
So you let him sleep through Indiana Jones and Fantastic Planet, and the Outsiders, waking up part way through the Empire Strikes Back. He blinks a few times, squinting at the television as he watches the movie. You only notice he’s awake when he snuggles closer to you.
“Woke up for the good part,” he mumbles, watching the battle rage on.
“Hey you, sleep well?” you hum, your attention immediately on him; brushing his bangs from his face. He still feels like he’s on fire, which isn’t surprising as it’s not even ten yet.
“Ask me tomorrow. Do… do you think we can try more soup?”
“You’re going to have to let me get up for that,” you point out, watching as he lazily redirects his gaze to you.
“You gonna come back?”
“Just need to get the soup reheated.”
“Okay,” he huffs, shuffling off of you to let you off the bed. He pushes himself to sit up, resting his head on his knees with droopy eyes and a frown.
“I’ll be right back,” you assure him, patting his head.
You try to be as quick as you can. You know that he’ll be distracted by the movie, yet, you hate to leave him like that. Standing in the kitchen you press your lips together with a frown. You shouldn’t reheat soup if you’re not sure if he’ll waste it again. So, instead, you get some of the ice from the freezer and add it to a glass. Then you head back to the room.
“I know it’s not soup, but let's see if you can stomach this first,” you propose, sitting down next to him.
“Okay,” he nods, opening his mouth.
You laugh, rolling your eyes as you set an ice cube on his tongue.
The whole glass is gone quickly. You wait fifteen minutes, letting him rest against your side as you watch the movie with him. When he doesn’t puke it back up, you get up and return with soup.
This time you only give him three spoonfuls, and you wait again. Five minutes. Ten minutes. Fifteen. The soup stays down.
“Progress,” you hum, filling another spoon. “Think you can eat another?”
“Absolutely,” he grins, as proud of himself as you are.

A Not So Cold Christmas Night
(Saiki k x Reader)
School was out for winter. While others had plans for vacation with family and friends. Here I am, sitting alone on Christmas day. Mom and Dad were overseas for work. Lucky me, they sent me money to buy myself a gift.
“Usually stores are closed for the holiday, but I think I could go get something for dinner.” I’m not in the mood for anything extravagant. Maybe a nice dessert. “Why not.” Grabbing my keys, I left out the door. The cold air nipped at me as my jacket did its best to keep me warm. The cold reminded me of the days where my family would sit around the tree. Not many presents were under the tree but that was fine with me.
The cold disappeared to warmth as the doors opened to the store. The clerk waved from an empty line. Some were frantic, searching for last minute dinners to serve their families. I made my way down some halls searching for snacks and sweet desserts.
“(L/n)? What are you doing here?” The voice belonged to Mrs. Saiki. I babysat their neighbor's son from time to time. Sometimes Mrs. Saiki would invite me over when I babysat so she could help me out. I was in the same class as her son Kusuo. He’s a rather quiet guy. We worked in a group once before. The both of us got along, I gave him his space. His friends surrounded him like a swarm of bees during class. Honestly I felt jealous of him.
“Mrs. Saiki, it’s a surprise to see you here. Shouldn’t you be at home with your family?” She nodded.
“We ran out of some seasonings so I came here to pick up some more. Now why are you here? Why aren't you at home with your parents?” The floor seemed really interesting now.
“My parents are overseas for work. I’m looking for snacks and such.” The look she gave me told me how pitiful I must have looked. Placing her hand on my shoulder, she brought me in for a hug. Tears stung my eyes as I held them back. No way I’ll cry in front of another. Soon enough she let go with a smile on her face.
“Hon you should join us for Christmas at our place.” Shaking my head I declined the offer.
“I couldn’t intrude on your Christmas dinner.” She insisted I join them. Claiming I shouldn’t be alone on a night ment for family and fun. “If it’s ok with you, then I cannot decline.” Her smile reminded me of a time, where my mother would watch as I style our tree with tinsel and lights. Before we left I grabbed some snacks then we made our way back to her house. I could see the light of a Christmas tree reflecting off the windows. As we approached the front door it opened for us. Saiki was standing there.
“Kusuo help (l/n) here with the bags, she’ll be joining us tonight.” Without a word he grabbed some bags and led us into the house. It was quiet yet lively. Their tree sparkled with the multicolored lights. Setting down the food in the kitchen I offered to help with dinner. Mrs. Saiki declined, then walked to the refrigerator. She pulled out two platters of coffee jelly. I never had it before but I’ve seen the dessert on shelves. “Give one to Kusuo and enjoy the other. Sit down and relax.” I did as told and found Saiki sitting at the table.
“Here, your mom sent me to give you one.” He took the platter from me and let me sit down.
“I have something for you, stay here.” His lips didn’t move as he talked, but that was no surprise to me. I knew of his powers.
One day when Mrs. Saiki invited me over. A bug flew in the kitchen. No one knew until Yuuta found it. He brought it into the living room where Saiki and I were. Shouting about the bug he found, I expected to find a ladybug in his hand. NOPE. It was a huge ass cockroach! About as soon as both Saiki and I realized what he had, the bug flew towards us in a flash. I wasn’t sure how it happened at the time but the bug was captured in a plastic container.
Shocked, I looked at the floating container and then Saiki. Yuuta was told to go wash his hands, while he did that's when I was informed.
I watched as Saiki came back down the stairs with something in his hand.
“Here, I noticed you were running low.”
It was a fresh sketchbook with brand new erasers and pencils.
“It’s nothing crazy but I figured I’d get it for you.” I smiled at him.
“No, it’s perfect. Thank you Saiki, I appreciate it. I’ll have to get you something in return.”
“No need, I may like to be left alone. I don’t mind you being around, you're a good friend to have.” I got to see a rare smile. “Also, just call me Kusou.”
“Alright then.”

Meet The Fam(Dean Fluff)
Today was the day your family was celebrating Thanksgiving. All of your aunts and uncles, and cousins were there. Your parents and grandparents had prepared a big feast.
Today was also going to be Dean's first time meeting your family. He was very nervous. You don't come from a hunter family. So Dean can't necessarily be himself. The two of you met on a dating app and immediately hit it off.
You were the first girl he actually felt a real connection with since Lisa. You were home to him. He didn't dare let you hunt. You helped research, but he didn't let you go on cases. You're too precious to him. He can't lose you.
"Do I look okay?" He asked.
"You look perfect, Dean."
He was so worried about impressing your family. He almost wore one of his fed suits. But you assured him that nobody in your family would be dressed up.
He picked out a simple red flannel, his nicest jeans, and a black t-shirt. So technically, it was his normal outfit, but he'd also combed his hair and made sure he wore the cologne he knew you loved.
"You really don't have to do all this for my family. Trust me, my cousin Allison, she's gonna come looking like a homeless person. Her kids probably will, too. They don't give a shit. If anyone in my family tries to look remotely nice, it's me."
"I just want them to like me." He said.
"They will, Dean. I love you, so they will, too."
You smiled reassuringly at him as you walked up to him. You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him into a passionate kiss.
"We gotta go now." You said, breaking for air.
"Fine." He said.
*time skip*
You and Dean arrived around 11 am. Your grandma always had the food ready at 12 pm. So it was more of a Thanksgiving lunch than dinner.
You introduced everyone to Dean, and they all seemed to take a liking to him. Your dad drove him around on the side by side to show him the family property. Your little cousin really took a liking to him. She kept trying to feed him her pickles. It was adorable.
You'd never seen Dean laugh so hard. His face had turned red from how much he was smiling. Everyone welcomed him, just as you did.
"See." You whispered.
He just smiled and winked at you.
"So Dean, what do you do for a living?" Your uncle asked.
Oh god.
The dreaded question.
"I uh, I work with my brother. We do extermination. It was my dad's business." He said.
You felt Dean's hand reaching out for yours under the table. When you grabbed his hand, he laced his fingers with yours.
"That sounds gross. I don't think I could work with all those bugs." Your cousin piped in.
"Trust me, I basically live in the shower. Can't have any bugs crawling into bed with me."
"Just the thought of being an exterminator makes me itchy." Your other uncle said.
"Yeah. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be doing it. I just felt like I had to follow in my dad's footsteps for a little while. To honor him, I guess."
"How did he pass?" Your dad asked.
"Car accident. Semi to car." Dean said.
"Oh, that's horrible." Your aunt said.
"Yeah. Me and my brother and I are lucky we survived." Dean said.
"You were in the car too?" Your dad asked.
"Yep. Happened in my Impala, actually. I was driving. Semi came out of nowhere. It was scary. I almost didn't live."
"That Impala?" Your uncle asked, pointing outside to Baby."
"Yep. Had to completely rebuild her. Took a lot of work. Had to do it a few times, actually. She's been through some stuff."
"I bet. Be careful, son. You got a beautiful car. And a beautiful girl. Don't go hurting either of em." Your dad said.
"Yes, sir." Dean said.
"I'll kill ya if you hurt her." Your other cousin said.
"Timothy!" You said.
"What?! I will."
Lunch continued on, and eventually, the two of you made your way back to the bunker.
"I should've said I was a mechanic. Now I feel all itchy from the bug talk." Dean chuckled.
"I'm just glad you came up with something."
"Yeah. You know, that wasn't so bad. I really like your aunt Christy. She seems like an independent badass."
"She is. She always told me I didn't need a man. She was right until I met you." You said.
"And Bradley looks just like your uncle Jeff."
"I know. It's weird, honestly."
"Jason doesn't say much."
"Tell me about it. When he does talk, you can't hear him." You said.
You and Dean climbed into bed and settled into each other's arms.
"I think I'm gonna sleep for a week after eating all that turkey." Dean said.
"Well, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself." You giggled.
Dean kissed your forehead and nuzzled his face into your hair.
"Goodnight, sweetheart."
"Goodnight, De."

Blood test crush:
Laurie was sitting in the waiting room of the clinic with her dad Harry. She scanned the room as adrenaline inside her built up the more time passed, awaiting her turn for the thing that she dreaded the most....needles.
To be more specific, blood draws, shots, needle pricks were all the things she hated. Trypanophobia may have been inside her. Harry put a hand on Laurie's knee. "It'll be okay love, it'll be over before you know it. And then we can get lunch." Harry knew just how bad his daughter's fear was. Ever since she was a baby she struggled with getting anything inserted into her if it had a needle on it. The only exception was getting her ears pierced. She practically forced herself to tolerate it due to it being something she really wanted.
Laurie's deep breathes didn't help her calm down about her appointment, but the auburn haired and honey eyed guy in nurses scrubs did.
"Laurie?" he called, scanning the room for his next patient. Laurie ejected from her seat and ran up to him like she was racing through the Olympics.
Everything seemed perfect, until the concern of her father's echoed through the waiting room. "Baby did you want me to go back with you?" Laurie was quick to reject the offer and followed the hunk back to the assigned room. "Okay, I'm gonna draw some blood okay?" Laurie eagerly nodded as he flashed a smile to her which made her cheeks sting.
Normally she would be clinging to her father's hand, sweating spuriously as she would be scared to death of the needle piercing. But all of a sudden this was a dream. She didn't care about the blood draw so much as she cared for the nurse doing it. Her eyes gazed upon him in a welcoming way.
A small knock on the door interrupted the exchange between the two. In poked Harry who waltzed over to Laurie much to her horror. "Hi" Harry introduced himself to the lab technician. He took a seat on the bench like seat next to Laurie and wrapped his arm around her. "Just making sure my baby's alright." Laurie's face blushed. She couldn't bare to look at the nurse.
The nurse cleaned her arm and took the cap off the needle. As if she wasn't embarrassed enough by her father's presence, of course he wasn't done.
"Now sweetie, you can hold my hand if you're scared." Harry pressed continuous kisses to the temple of Laurie's head.
"I'm right here cuddle bug." Harry cooed. The nurse smiled at the cute little interaction between Harry and his daughter, but Laurie thought that it was anything but cute. The nurse inserted the needle into Laurie's arm, making Laurie flinch a little. "You're doing good sweetie." The nurse said while filling up three tubes. Laurie blushed at the little nickname "sweetie" that she was called by the handsome man. The lust she felt infatuated her emotions with him. He affectionately pet named her other than her dad.
Harry rubbed her back and hugged her. Laurie in a last resort still tried to seem mature despite Harry being there.
She tried to smile and make eye contact with him as she felt she could seeing how he wasn't much older than her. But her attempts were futile.
Harry couldn't stop 'consoling' her in a way that Laurie found babyish. And it was. Once it was over and Lauren picked her bandage color, Harry swooped her up in his arms and gave her a big kiss and hug. "You're my big girl aren't you?" Harry cooed. Lauren face was beet red and painfully glanced over to the smiling nurse in which she gave a tight embarrassed smile back. "See that wasn't so bad was it?" Laurie didn't respond...she didn't have to, her father grabbed her and squeezed her into a hug. "My little trooper."
While walking out to the car, Laurie was very quiet until Harry broke the ice. He grabbed her hand. "Dad I was just fine on my own." The young lady blurted out. Harry gave a sheepish smile.
"I was worried. I didn't want you to be scared, and I just wanted to support you." Laurie smiled knowing she couldn't stay mad at her dad forever. In fact she was lucky to have him.

Hii! I'm here for the matchup if it's alright.
Sexuality: AroAce, but I'd like a QPP [Queerplatonic partner] i am fine with being paired up with both genders.
Pronouns: He/she/they [any of the three is fine]
🏹 — AESTHETIC:
Metalhead all the way, and the other 1% knightly aesthetic.
🕸️ ; PERSONALITY — My personality is basically a brazilian on crack, I'm very loud and chaotic. I alternate between being clever and walking headfirst into a brick wall, I'm also very oblivious and blunt, you'll have to explain something to me at least 10 times again if i don't understand, i also like to make jokes, and puns sometimes! In general i just adore making jokes and getting a good laugh. I am just a crackhead. Speaking of crackhead, my humor is extremely broken; I'll laugh at anything ranging from the most chaotic thing (examples: a goddamn picture of an m&m, a horse with high heels, a piece of bread falling, the word balls, someone flying, literally an image of a tree with music) honestly anything ranging from just that will make me wheeze like my lungs just exploded, I'll be laughing like a deranged fox. I am seen as pretty chill, I'm honestly a happy-go-lucky person and I can socialize with everyone, i have a habit of cursing and invent the most absurd sounding curse words my favorite ones are “you blithering feculent shithole” “What in the name of sweet dong tickling horse fuck?!” “bunch of putrid douchesquatting cretins” “you shitsmearing fuckass” and finally “how can you be such a fucksquatting pain in the waste chute” i also have a knightly persona and act like a knight despite my use of constant profanity. 'Tis but the truest way of the knight! Any chance i get to act like a knight, I'll take it. if I'm in the presence of an animal and you're talking to me? I'll pay more attention to the animal. I usually miss major signs due to me being an oblivious asswhiffer. i also have a habit of usually just agreeing on anything and never really taking action, just obeying orders lol- i basically act like an actual knight to their queen/king. 😭
🕸️ ; HOBBIES — drawing my QPP partner in a cute art style, reading, writing, playing the guitar, cracking my bones- like how people crack their fists, i do that except with every bone in my body, ankles, shoulders, neck, fingers you name it. Acting like a knight, or just whatever random clusterfuckery my dumb fuckass of a brain can come up with
🕸️ ; LIKES : animals,cats,ice cream,peanuts,the color red,Greek mythology,heavy metal/deathcore metal,dad jokes or any jokes, romcoms, cold food & drinks, the season of winter.
🕸️ ; DISLIKES : Tea, Coca Cola, Strawberries, Hot food, The season of Summer, icing and cake, any bug.. i guess there's not much.
INSECURITIES: my face i actually have a baby face and it ain't good, the scar on my left eye, my fear of thunder and thunderstorms it leaves me sobbing, another fear is bugs it also leaves me sobbing no matter the size of the bug i will scream so loud. The fact that I cook bad :'(
SOMETHING I LIKE IN A PARTNER: uhm anything really i don't think i even have a dislike.
---
BONUS:
🕸️ ; AFFECTION — I love making "fun" of people.. in a loving way. like I'll say something that's like “Hi there little stinky baby!” In a high pitched voiced to someone i find stinky [mean demeanor or just tsundere behavior] basically like how cat owners talk to their cats, if they mess up a word I'll also mimic them in the same high pitched tone while rubbing their face and lightly squeezing it adding a “you're so cute! Such a cutie!” everytime, if I'm far away; I'll be giggling and doing squeezey hands. I also love cuddling! I love being the little spoon despite being tall. I love drawing my partner in a cute art style! Only way to describe my love language is basically affectionate teasing. I'm very clingy too-
----
I really like spiders! They actually don't scare me at all, in fact when i see one i pet them using my finger and let them crawl on my hand. I actually have a pet spider too! His name's bobby and he's a tarantula! His species name is Arizona Blonde
Hope this wasn't too long..
Hihi!!!! How are you? Ahh you're like me in someway!! My humor is brokenmm too like ur mum. /j
results down there!!
》* 。 • ˚ ˚ ˛ * 。° 。 • ˚《
Your fated partner is... Hutao!!
》* 。 • ˚ ˚ ˛ * 。° 。 • ˚《
Y'all will definetely go out to have a movie date and theme park hangouts i'm sure of it. Life's no fun without these things!!
You and Hutao share the same broken humor. She has patience in explaning everything to you despite your nature!!
You and her's like two peas in a pod. Loud and chaotic? Her thing.
The habit of absurd sounding curse words from you, hmm...she has learnt a few- well, maybe not a few. A plenty of them to count. Or maybe you can't count anymore. Okay. Too much to count.
Ooh you act like a knight? She's interested in roleplaying with you!! She just geniuely loves the vibes you radiate (especially around her.)
Do you know, Hutao loves to write poems!!! So I think this will be a great opportunity to exchange ideas on poems, stories...etc.
Everytime she hears you cracking a bone, she'll never miss the chance of selling you coffin(s). She thinks you’re helping her to boost income!!!
There's a cat outside the Wanghsneg Funeral Parlour. Hutao feeds it daily wayy before she met you. She has been friends with the stray cats n dogs in Liyue since she's stil young!! Sometimes takes you to where the animals are. She knows you like them!
She's into heavy metal/deathcore metal too, not surprisingly. I feel like since you and her share the same aesthetic, she steals your clothes 24/7 and doesn't even tell you until you ask her hehehe. She just gives you back a cheeky smile when she returns your clothes.
You and her sleep together everynight. And those nights are always filled with bedtime storytelling, from you telling her Greek Mythology to her telling you histories about Liyue which she heard from Zhongli.
When it's winter, y'all go out to have a snowball fight!!
In conclusion, although she seems to sell you coffins everyday, she doesn't want to lose you. She doesn't want you to die on her too fast. As her partner, it's her job to protect you!! She loves you so much.
Woww...you love spiders and you even have a pet spider!!! That's so great!! But Hutao rembers that you dislike insects...hm, well, maybe spiders hold a special place in your heart just like herself.
Bobby's cute!! She knows that. Finds it amazing too, letting Bobby crawl onto your hand. However she had tried selling bobby pint-sized coffins.
Hutao loves your cat so much!! Whenever she and Morrigan cross paths in the home, she'll pet them. Who can resist a floofy and warm cat, she says.
I assume the origin of Morrigan's name have became some night's bedtime stories with you telling her.
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳BONUS!! -ˏ͛-
Everyone has their own insecurities and fears, so it really doesn't matter to her. She understands. She promised that she'll protect you!!
She doesn't find your baby face bad. It just makes you yourself unique!! Instead she finds it cute and she doesn't hesitate to tell you that you're cute. That's really what she thinks and this isn't your flaw. It's what makes her little stupid boo special!!
When it's having a thunderstorm, she know that you'll be scared. She may seem unrealiable at first glance but she's wayy more than that. She'll engulf you into her, cover your ears and whisper comforting words. May even pat your head too!! So don't be scared.
══✿══╡°˖✧✿✧˖°╞══✿══
sorry if this took too long!! hope you like this ;) lmk in the comments if i missed anything please!!

----
⚔️ — NAME : Caynine or Vinicios (or the americanized version: William)
------
⚔️ ; APPEARANCE — I have monolids, and a long scar on my left eye due to 5 yr old me being stupid I also have glasses, and am a complete blind shit without them. Overall i am seen as intimidating, either because of my eye scar or the fact that i dress the way i dress [for reference, think of metalheads but with alotta chains and spikes] my voice is very deep and mature like, I'm about 198 cm (6'5 i think)
⚔️ ; PERSONALITY — My personality is, despite being seen as intimidating and cold, is the exact opposite I'm basically a brazilian on crack, I'm very loud and chaotic. I alternate between being clever and walking headfirst into a brick wall, I'm also very oblivious and blunt, you'll have to explain something to me at least 10 times again, if i don't understand; i also like make jokes a lot, and puns sometimes! In general i just adore making jokes and getting a good laugh. I also tend to say stuff that is labeled as nonsense like “is orange called orange because oranges orange or because oranges are orange?” i like to make people confused, though people call me bonkers for that. Speaking of bonkers, my humor is extremely broken; I'll laugh at anything ranging from the most chaotic thing (examples: a goddamn picture of an m&m, a horse with high heels, a piece of bread falling, the word balls, someone flying, literally an image of a tree with music) honestly anything ranging from just that will make me wheeze like my lungs just exploded, I'll be laughing like a deranged fox.
I am seen as pretty chill, I'm honestly a happy-go-lucky person and I can socialize with everyone, i have a habit of cursing and invent the most absurd sounding curse words my favorite ones are “you blithering feculent shithole” “What in the name of sweet dong tickling horse fuck?!” “bunch of putrid douchesquatting cretins” “you shitsmearing fuckass” and finally “how can you be such a fucksquatting pain in the waste chute” i also act like a knight despite my use of constant profanity. 'Tis but the truest way of the knight!
Any chance i get to act like a knight, I'll take it. I probably pay more attention to animals then humans, if I'm in the presence of an animal and you're talking to me? I'll pay more attention to the animal. I usually miss major signs due to me being an oblivious asswhiffer. I’m also really vengeful but can never enact on it so i just suppress my emotions, my way of thinking about heroes is similar to that of Garou (how the hero demographic gets ALL the benefits and praise. Even in play fighting. I believe a villain is a living being and could become so much more if they weren’t labelled so bad. I overly detest the over-egotistical nature of the heroes and just how easy life can be for them. I label it as injustice. The inequality is crystal clear, If i could i would also bring justice to the villains)
⚔️ ; HOBBIES — drawing, reading, writing, dancing, i have a habit of cracking my bones- like how people crack their fists, i do that except with every bone in my body, ankles, shoulders, neck, fingers you name it. Acting like a knight, or just whatever randomness my dumb fuckass of a brain can come up with
⚔️ ; LIKES : animals,cats,ice cream,peanuts,the color red,Greek mythology, heavy metal/deathcore metal,dad jokes or any jokes, romcoms, cute things.
⚔️ ; DISLIKES : Tea, Coca Cola, Strawberries, Hot food, The season of Summer, icing and cake, any bug i guess there's not much.
⚔️ ; AFFECTION —
I love making "fun" of people.. in a loving way, like I'll say something that's like “Hi there little stinky baby!” In a high pitched voiced to someone i find stinky [mean demeanor or just tsundere behavior] basically like how cat owners talk to their cats, if they mess up a word I'll also mimic them in the same high pitched tone while rubbing their face and lightly squeezing it adding a “you're so cute! Such a cutie!” everytime, i also love cuddling! I love being the little spoon despite being tall. I think I would like my partner to quote unquote "order" me around as i am not the type of person to order others. I guess i am kinda submissive. I love drawing my partner in a cute art style!
— hope it wasn't too long!
I don't mind the Shakespeare at all, and I appreciate your support via request but I have never seen One Punch Man and I no longer write for Rosario Vampire. I'm sorry! I haven't updated my match-up master in ages so I have no idea what fandoms are even listed, and I've actually been meaning to close requests as I have too much going on. But thank you!

TKO AND MURDERED
Chapter 8: Tournament Round 1
Conny: Alright Connor so your going to do the 1st round
--
Connor walked up to the POW Card dispenser, and he pushed the button
--
Connor: So um...
Conny: You gud
Connor: Not you Conny, yo sis
--
Pibby perked up at that, Conny blinked with his one eye, but merely smiled
--
Pibby: Did you just call me "sis"
Connor: Yeah, you want any help getting up to the dispenser
Pibby: Yes!
--
Pibby practically lept onto her brother hugging him
He lifted her up to the dispenser and she grapped the card
--
Pibby: Here's my card what's my power level?
--
She looked and saw it was a power level of 4
--
OK KO: Wow pretty high fir a pip-squeak like yourself
Connor: Who are you
KO: Okio or just call me KO
Pibby: Oh, well I'm Pibby and this is my brother Connor
Conny (In Connor's Head): Connor he feels so weird like, similar to us
Connor: what do you-
KO: So Connor, you gonna get a card
--
He nodded and pressed a button
--
Connor: Level 6
Tesla: My turn alright
Connor: Alright ^^
--
Tesla with GrocGroc in tow and she pushed a button
--
Pibby: Seriously GrocGroc
GrocGroc: Wwhhhaattt???
Pibby: Your so fucking lucky we're not in class
Connor: Why?
Pibby: He was such a trouble maker
--
Connor glared at GrocGroc, who just scooted next to Tesla
--
KO: Ppffff, sounds like someone I know
Tesla: Don't worry Pibby, I'll keep him check
--
Tesla pushed the button twice, giving the 2nd card to GrocGroc, Tesla had a power level of 6, and GrocGroc had power level of 3
--
GrocGroc: Suprised it's a three
KO: Well some guys get it worse, trust me my card was literally glitches
--
They all froze with the word "glitch"
--
KO: I'm just gonna go, my shift is ending bbbaaaiii
Connor: Should we tell him?
Pibby: I'm usually optimistic but I'm pretty sure we'd get called crazy
--
Silent footsteps unheard as Ghost came in, wearing silver armor, and a wristlet was shown on their non sword arm, they picked a few buttons on it
--
Ghost: Me and my dad talked out some much needed issues
Pibby: Oh really is that where you've been
Ghost: Yes we worked on this armor together
Hornet: Whatever, I'm not as convinced
Ghost: I literally had two gods in my mask, so your in no position to speak
--
Hornet rolled her eyes, and Ghost just walked up and did a double jump hitting the button with their nail back flipping and grabbing the card, with a Power Level of 7
--
Tesla and Connor: God dammit!!
GrocGroc: lol you got beat by a genderless bug
--
After a laugh, the 1st round appeared on the board
--
Connor: Great...
--
He saw the 1st round
--
Tesla: Bout time...
--
It was Tesla vs Connor
--
Connor: Time for a rematch
--
MEANWHILE
Sim! Pibby got up and her ruler ready fir her 1st fight
--
Sim! Pibby: You kept up your promise Logan
lml55: Sorry it took so long, have fun fighting Pibby
--
I snapped my fingers and disappeared, Connor and Tesla walked up to the arena, excited for a much needed rematch
--
Announcer: ROUND 1 BEGIN!!
Pibby: Come on Connor you can do
GrocGroc: You got this Tesla
Pibby: Seriously?
GrocGroc: You got your favorite Gauge Breaker I got mine
Pibby: Connor is my brother, so I gotta have him as my favorite legally
GrocGroc: What law though
Pibby: *Glares*
GrocGroc: Ok, Fair enough I'll take a joke
--
Connor jumped up with his nunchucks, Tesla with her Ice Helberd shot out some lightning at him mid air
--
Connor: Not this time
--
He hit the lightning with his nunchucks and he yelled the lightning back, only to see another bolt of lightning in his face
--
Tesla: Who said lightning can't srike the same place twice
--
Connor just yeeted the lightning back and absorbed the Lightning with his Gauge
--
Tumblr media
Connor: Redirect!!
Pibby: How the flip is he able to react to literal lightning!!
Pale King: It appears the two train together, it might have caused him to increase his reaction speed
Ghost: Her lightning feels just as fast as light though
GrocGroc: But Lightning is slower than light
Pibby: Not all the time, lightning comes before thunder for reason
Alloy Boy: Yeah sometimes Lightning hits the speed of light depending on what is being traversed on
--
Tesla absorbed her own lightning and shot back at Connor's redirected lightning, causing an explosion
Connor slammed the ground conjuring spikes into the ground with a red Aura to them
--
Connor: heh finally, looks like it came back
--
Tesla jumped out of the way of the conjured spikes, only for Connor to raise his arm
--
Connor: My malice
--
BOOM!
Tesla was shot into the air
--
Tesla: Nice one caught me off guard
Connor: Bring it on, like old times
--
Tesla smiled slammed down using Gauge flight and threw her weapon, Connor did the same and got into position
--
Pibby: Are they fighting hand to hand?
--
Tesla and Connor circled each other, hands out
Tesla punched at Connor and he blocked with his hand, he winced but powered through the pain
Connor leg sweeped Tesla but she jumped and slamming her fist down, charged her fist with lightning, Connor blocked it with a conjured shield, knocking the two back at the edges of the arena
--
Connor: My turn
--
He charged at Tesla and punched at Tesla with sound breaking speed
BOOM!
--
Dendy: Jeeze those two have sound breaking punches
--
Connor punched continually as Tesla blocked just as fast until Tesla landed a blow on Connor but Connor did as well seeing an opening as Tesla had to leave one of her hands to land a blow onto Connor
BOOM
--
Pibby: That had to hurt
Conny: God fucking dammit Connor, stop getting hit in the face, it's knocking me all over the place
Connor: Easier said than done
--
Wham!
Connor got punched a 2nd time in the face, and he then punched Tesla in the gut
--
Conny: OW you fucktard
Connor: You know what I'm just gonna tune you out
Conny: Dude I'm getting banged around I'm here
Connor: aaanndd muted
--
Connor and Tesla went to hit each other, but this time Connor charged his Malice forming Markings on his cheek, Tesla did the same with her lightning
--
Tesla and Connor: BREAK THE GAUGE!!
--
Lighting and Malice blew up into an explosion of red and blue until the dust dissipated, Tesla and Connor at the edges of the ring, both still standing. But Tesla own back foot was just outside the arena
--
Tesla: Nice one Connor
Announcer: CONNOR WINS BY A HAIR OF A RING OUT!!!
--
Pibby cheered, and GrocGroc just sat there stunned, the others who weren't really taking sides just clapped, Merila just rolled her eyes, but Pibby could've swore she saw a smile on her face as she jumped out of the seats to meet Connor and Tesla who were talking
--
Announcer: NEXT UP, PIBBY AND... SIBBY??
Pibby: Sibby?
--
She looked up and saw Sim! Pibby as the next opponent
--
Pibby: You know what... I'm going to fucking punch her face in

Stray Kids Reaction || Didn’t Know That You Were Pregnant [Request]
Tumblr media
CHAN:
It was supposed to be a relaxing day out with the rest of the boys, going for a walk around the Han River and taking photographs with Hyunjin but your stomach was beginning to cramp and you were having back pains.
"Maybe you should sit down," Minho said as he noticed how slow you were walking behind them, panting out of breath you walked over to some of the benches beside a fence and sat down.
"Here," Felix called out as he rushed to your side and gave you a bottle of water, Chan glanced over at you smiling weakly as he noticed how sick you looked. The fact that you'd been sick for most of the week was starting to worry him but you pushed it aside as nothing more than a sickness bug that would pass sooner or later.
"Maybe we should call it a day, you look worse than you did yesterday," Jisung said in a worried tone he didn't mean for it to sound mean but he was worried about you, as were the other boys. Jisung's eyes kept looking between you and Chan as he walked over to your side but you let out a yelp in pain, at first, you thought you'd dropped the bottle of water that Felix had handed to you but then you felt pain radiate up your back and around your abdomen,
"Gross, Y/n needs to control her bladder." Minho laughed as he saw the pool of fluid by your feet and assumed you had wet yourself but that was when Chan's face ran pale and he began to calculate in his head.
"I-I think my water broke," You mumbled as you looked over at Chan, he was piecing everything together over the last nine months, you'd gained weight, you'd been suck more often not to mention the weird cravings you'd been getting.
"Holy shit." You yelled out as you struggled to get up from the bench, holding onto your stomach where there was barely even a bump.
"I'm going to be an uncle?!" Jeongin screamed out loudly enough that the lady that was working the hot chocolate stand looked up to see what the fuss was about. Chan took your hand in his, walking with you towards the car so they could get you to a hospital but all of the boys were freaking out more than the two of you, yelling about how they weren't prepared and nothing was ready since you had no idea you were pregnant.
Tumblr media
MINHO:
You always thought those who claimed not to know that they were pregnant were being dramatic but now you knew first hand that they weren't. Sitting on the maternity ward with your sleeping daughter in your arms while Minho sat beside you on the bed just watching her sleeping. You had been home when you felt a bad pain spreading over your body, you figured it was nothing until it got to the point you couldn't focus on anything but the pain and headed to the doctor.
"I can't believe you created another human." Changbin muttered as he walked into the room with a look of surprise on his face,
"Neither can we," You laughed as you laid your head on Minho's shoulder still remembering the look of shock on his face he had when you told him that you were going to have a baby. It was as if someone had drained all the colour out of him and for a few moments you thought he was going to pass out but he took it well and spent hours shopping for everything you were going to need online and having it delivered to your apartment that you shared together.
Tumblr media
CHANGBIN:
"Where have you been I've been calling all day?!" You yelled out as you stood in the doorway of one of the studios, Changbin was chilling with Jisung and Chan while he claimed he was working.
"What's wrong? Is something wrong?" You groaned at his nagging questioning and looked down at your stomach, the bump was starting to bother you but you put that down to weight loss until about an hour ago when you felt something move inside of you followed by a gushing of water to your feet.
"I'm in labour, so if you answered your phone I wouldn't have had to drive all the way here instead of a hospital," All three of the boys started to laugh with one another thinking it was some kind of prank but as soon as Changbin saw the seriousness on your face his smile fell to the floor.
"You're really-"
"Yes."
"And I'm going to be dad-"
"Not if you don't get me to a fucking doctor!" You yelled out as another contraction hit you, bending over in pain as you tried not to fall to the floor in a puddle of tears from the pain that you were experiencing.
Tumblr media
HYUNJIN:
"Besides a little weight gain, there had been no other indication that you could have been pregnant?" A nurse asked as she looked at you at Hyunjin, the two of you had been surprised by home birth. You'd gotten up in the middle of the night to use the toilet only to realise you weren't in need of the toilet but a doctor. The two of you ended up delivering your daughter on the bathroom floor over the phone to nurses and an ambulance team that had been stuck on the roads.
"No, I didn't even know I could. I was on the pill and we were using condoms." You mumbled as you glanced down at your sleeping daughter who was strong considering you hadn't been taking prenatal care or going for regular checkups, it was a miracle she was delivered as well as she was and as healthy as she was.
"Well, the hospital will provide you with a crib and some emergency supplies but you will need to do some shopping soon." She began writing everything up that you would need, Hyunjin was already so taken with your daughter he could hardly take his eyes off her.
Tumblr media
JISUNG:
As soon as the water hit the ground you knew you hadn't accidentally wet yourself and Chan knew from the look of it that it wasn't piss that had come out of you.
"Y/n!?" Jisung yelled out as panic washed over his face, he was sweating as he rushed over to you, sitting you down on the sofa in the dorms as he began yelling out for someone to call an ambulance.
"Relax, she's in labour," Chan said calmly as he watched the two of you but that did nothing to settle you, both you and Jisung turned to him with wide eyes,
"I'M PREGNANT?!"
"SHE'S PREGNANT!?" You screamed out together as the boys around you began to laugh, Chan shook his head at you before looking around.
"Felix call an ambulance, Seungmin get a blanket and Minho pack up some clothes for Y/n." The whole time Chan barked out orders Jisung was doing his best to coach you through the pain, giving you breathing techniques he'd seen in all of the movies and TV shows where people were giving birth.
"We're going to be parents." He whispered over and over again as if he was trying to convince himself that it was true and it wasn't some kind of dream that he seemed to be having.
Tumblr media
FELIX:
Felix brought you to the hospital as soon as you said that you were in so much pain you couldn't get out of bed, doctors were running tests on you while you sat in a hospital bed crying into a pillow.
"Mr Lee, Miss Y/l/n?" You glanced over at the door to see a set of doctors all rushing around outside the door, getting something ready while another came to speak to you.
"It appears that you're pregnant, in fact, you're currently in labour." You started laughing at the male doctor thinking it was some kind of joke but when you noticed he wasn't laughing you stopped and sat up in the bed.
"I'm what?" Felix's hand wrapped around yours as he tightly squeezed your hand, come to think of it there was a high possibility that you were pregnant but the two of you had been careful and used protection all of the time.
"I would assume this is a shock but we need to check to see how far along you are in your contractions," A female doctor came into the room and began introducing herself while you and Felix stared at one another dumbfounded about how this could have happened and when.
"Would you like to stay in the room?" The mid-wife asked Felix who turned to leave but you gripped onto his shirt pulling him closer to the bed,
"We're in this together, don't even think about walking out of that door." You warned him as the doctor began to see if you were ready to push or not,
"Almost there, I would say another hour or two at the most," She smiled looking up at you both as you worriedly looked at one another how you were going to break the news to everyone since you had no idea you had been pregnant in the first place.
"I need to call my mum," Felix stuttered as he looked at you, you nodded your head looking around for your phone.
"I need to tell my family." You bit down on your lip not knowing if you were excited, worried or scared or if it was a mixture of all of those emotions at once.
"I would make some arrangements quickly," The doctor teased before leaving the room, you turned to Felix wondering where to start with the conversation.
Tumblr media
SEUNGMIN:
"I'm telling you that there is nothing wrong with me, I just feel sick." You grumbled to Seungmin who was pacing around the room a nurse had placed you in, he'd insisting on taking you to see someone as soon as you started to feel sick and dizzy that morning and now you had been waiting around for hours.
"The tests have all finally came back, we wanted to make sure it was 100% positive before we came in here," The same nurse that had admitted you explained as she held a clipboard to her chest with a worried expression on her face,
"When you came in we asked if there was a chance of pregnancy and you said no-"
"Because there isn't, I'm on the pill and we use protection," You told her as she continued to give you a worried look, that was when she began showing you all of the tests that they had done to prove to you that you were eight months pregnant and in early labour which was why you were sick and in so much pain.
"I-I'm pregnant?" You stuttered out staring from the charts to her face as Seungmin sat down on the chair beside your bed,
"But we were careful," He mumbled as he looked at you,
"Not all contraceptives are 100% effective, some are just 99.9% you're the lucky, 00.01% That gets pregnant," You knew she was trying to make you feel better but it only made it worse as you thought about how the baby had nothing waiting at home for them when you eventually got home.
"I'll get the boys, they'll become builders for the day." Seungmin mumbled as he began to call Chan on his phone frantically.

JEONGIN:
Jeongin laughed down the phone when you told him you were sitting on the maternity ward of a hospital delivering his baby but as soon as he didn't hear you laughing a chill ran through him.
"You're joking right?" You groaned at him through the phone, rolling your head back against the bed as another contraction hit you making you scream out louder than the rest before it.
"Why would I joke about pushing a watermelon out of something the size of a pea!?" You yelled out down the phone to him while the midwife flinched from beside you wondering how you had been clueless about the pregnancy in the first place. It wasn't as though you were trying to get pregnant you were only together for two years, he was still young and how was JYP going to react to him getting a son or a daughter.
"Please come to the hospital innie, I'm scared," Your voice cracked as you began to cry but Jeongin was already on the way, getting Minho to drive him as fast as he could so he could be by your side by the time his son or daughter came into the world.

It was laughable; the way Fred stared at your large pregnant belly with eyes full of anticipation, hands placed on either sides of it, waiting for your child to kick at his hands. You giggled as he gently whispered to your protruding stomach, “Come on, little one. It’s your daddy. Give us a little kick, yeah?” Your stomach remained still as he lightly groaned, only making you laugh. “This child already likes keeping me on my wit’s end,” he grumbled before kissing your belly. “I’m just teasing,” he whispered again to the bump. “I love you so much.”
You brush your fingers through Fred’s hair, him sighing as you do. Fred had been so darling over the past nine months of your pregnancy. He found more staff for the joke shoppe to take over the early morning shifts and the night shifts so he could spend those hours taking care of you, helping around the house, and preparing for the baby’s arrival. You were always Fred’s number one priority, but that was set in stone after you became pregnant. He would literally drop anything if you even murmured that you needed something. Fred would wake up first and get your prenatal vitamins ready for you to drink with a large glass of water, he’d make breakfast, clean the kitchen, and only then would he wake you up. You had to admit, you could get used to living like this. But alas, you were past your due date and the baby was expected any day now.
“She loves you too, Freddie,” you tell him as you prop yourself up on your elbows, getting a better look at your husband who still rubs his hands over your stomach, searching for your unborn baby’s feet.
Fred looks up at you with questioning eyes. “She?” Fred could honestly care less about the sex of his child, as long as the baby was healthy. That’s all he could truly ask for. But secretly, deep down, Fred wanted a little girl, a princess. Someone who could be his princess since he had already found his queen.
You smiled with a shrug, “I have a feeling. I know it’s supposed to be a surprise, but when you know you know, don’t you?”
With that, against the skin of your stomach, pressed against Fred’s hand is two large kicks. Fred’s eyes widen as he sits up, feeling his child kick against his hands as the two of you laugh. Fred smiles wide and says, “Is that a sign?” he stares up at you with excited eyes as you cover your mouth laughing with glee. “Is that right, baby? A little girl?” he whispers to your belly, earning another two strong kicks as the two of you laugh out with delight. “A little princess and a strong one at that!” he cheers. “We’ve got a little football player on our hands, don’t we? Well, too bad, because your daddy is going to teach you all about quidditch.”
-------
The hospital room was quiet, no one daring to disturb the air that surrounded the newborn baby girl that was fast asleep on your chest. Her plump cheeks squished against your bare chest made you and Fred smile with delight. A healthy baby girl born after a brutally long labor, but it was all worth it. You softly kissed the top of her head, making her stir in her sleep.
You looked over at Fred to see him, gently wipe tears from his eyes as he gazed upon your newborn daughter. In this room, he had everything he’d ever wanted. The sight of your husband looking so lovingly at your daughter made your heart swell as you felt hot tears prick up behind your eyes. Reaching out, you cupped Freddie’s cheek as brushed away with happy tears with your thumb. Freddie looked up at you with eyes so tender and a smile so warm, you giggled out a sob. “She’s perfect,” he quietly spoke to you as you nodded your head in agreement.
She really was the most precious thing you’ve ever laid your eyes on. Her button nose and soft features rested upon her gentle skin, tufts of strawberry blonde hair poking out from the cap the hospital dressed her in. Her lips were pink and squished against your chest as small dreaming noises escaped now and again. Your darling little girl, your little flower.
“Daisy,” you spoke softly to Fred as you brushed your daughter’s cheek softly.
The two of you had spoke about what to name the baby for a while, a few names tossed around here and there, but none of them felt right. Until Daisy popped into your head.
Fred nodded his head with a happy smile, “Yeah.” In her sleep, the baby stirred at the sound of Fred’s voice, making him scoot impossibly closer to the hospital bed, leaning close to his daughter. “How do you like that, love bug?” he cooed at the sleeping baby on your chest. “Daisy,” he smiled to himself. “I love you so much. You’re going to give mommy a run for her money,” he joked, making you roll your eyes with a breathy chuckle. Fred looked up at you and placed a kiss to your forehead. “I can’t believe we made something as perfect as she is,” he shakes his head in disbelief.
You smiled at your husband and sighed. The man before you was so perfect, helplessly in love with you and the child you created. Slowly, you peeled sleeping Daisy off of your chest and handed her over to an eager Fred, scooping her in his arms, cradling the baby close to his chest. Fred cooed down at his baby who slowly fluttered her eyes open, peering her dark eyes, that looked so like Fred’s, up at him. You laid back in the hospital bed, relaxing as you watched Fred murmur to Daisy, speaking gently and kissing her forehead and nose every now and again. As if you couldn’t fall more in love with Fred, watching him become a father was enough to make you fall in love fifty more times.
Fred rose from the chair he was sat in and started walking around the hospital room, rocking the baby and talking to her about the life she was going to have. “Just wait until Uncle George gets his hands on you,” he whispered as you silently laughed. “Grandma Molly is going to spoil the hell out of you,” he shook his head for his eyes widened and he looked at you. “I shouldn’t curse in front of our baby, should I? he asks as you shake your head. “Damn it,” he curses again as he winces. “I’ll stop now,” he huffs making you laugh as your eyes feel heavy. The long labor had you exhausted and you had been up with Daisy feeding her and watching her alongside Fred. “Darling,” Fred cooed at you, “get some rest, please. I’ve got Daisy and she’s not due for another feeding for some time. You need to get some rest,” he tells you, walking over to the bed, helping pull the sheets up to cover you as you look up at his handsome face. “I’ll take care of our baby. Don’t worry.”
With a teasing sleepy smile on your face, you say, “I don’t know how much I trust you with a newborn child.” Fred gives you a look, making you chuckle. “I’m kidding, love, I’m kidding.” Fred kisses your forehead, your nose, and then your lips gently, him rubbing your cheek with his thumb. “I love you.”
“I love you,” Fred speaks before placing another kiss to your lips softly. He sits himself in the chair again, Daisy looking sleepy again herself. He sighs before clearing his throat and gently starting to sing a melody that sounded all too familiar to you. “I’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day,” he sings, making your heart flutter in your chest. “When it’s cold outside, I’ve got the month of May,” his voice is soothing, the vibrations from his chest calming Daisy down and putting her in a sleepy trance. “I guess you’d say what can make me feel this way, my girl, talkin’ ‘bout my girl,” his deep voice sings the familiar love song.
Fred looks at you as you watch him with a small smile on your face, tears welling up in your eyes. He was singing your wedding song to your baby. It felt like a dream. Being married to the man you’ve always loved, seeing him cradle your beautiful baby girl in his arms, singing the song you would dance to as teenagers. It was unreal, but somehow, you were lucky enough to be living in it.
“I got so much honey, the bees envy me. I’ve got a sweeter song than the birds in the trees,” he continues to sing along, slowly putting both you and Daisy to sleep as you flutter your eyes closed, happy and safe.
-----------
The drive back from the hospital was slow. Fred insisting on not driving faster than twenty miles an hour even though the speed limit was thirty. This caused many cars on the road to change lanes and shoot Fred dirty looks.
“Fred, honey, you can drive faster than this. She’s in a car seat, strapped in very well as you made sure of before we left the hospital, and the road is very clear considering everyone has driven around you,” you tell him from the passenger seat.
He shakes his head, “No way. I am remaining as safe as humanly possible. Can’t risk putting my little flower petal in harm’s way.”
But eventually, you arrived back to your house where your friends and family awaited your arrival patiently. You turned the keys in the lock and pushed the door open, Fred following closely behind you with Daisy in her carrier. “We’re home,” you sing song out at the bunches of people who awaited your arrival in your home.
Everyone rises from the couches and chairs in your home, big smiles on their faces when they see you, Fred, and Daisy enter the door. Molly gasps and covers her mouth, tears already welling up in her eyes as Fred sighs. “Ron! Mum is already crying, you owe me two galleon!” George calls out. “I call holding it first!” George calls out.
“It?” Ginny makes fun of her brother with a light chuckle as Ron cackles from the other side of the couch, earning a pillow toss in the face from George. “I reckon I should hold the baby first considering I am going to be the godmother, right, (Y/N)?” Ginny asks.
George lets out a laugh, “Hilarious, Ginny. Last time I checked it was my twin who had the baby. Surely, I will be the godparent and the first one to hold it.”
“Stop calling the baby it!” Ginny reprimands him. “The baby is a...wait, you never told us what the baby’s sex is,” Ginny looks to you and Fred as the two of you are too preoccupied laughing at the antics of the group already. You weren’t even home five minutes and there was already arguing. “So?”
You look to Fred, giving him the honor of announcing the baby’s sex. “Everyone will get a turn holding her,” he announces as Ginny cheers out in victory, Ron owing George another two galleons, as Molly and Hermione squeal in excitement. “But who ever holds her first needs to wash their hands. I don’t want any dirty paws on my perfect baby girl,” he coos into the carrier before you take off the buckle and scoop Daisy into your arms as she stretches in your arms.
Ginny and George both make a mad dash to the sink, pushing the other out of their ways, trying to wash their hands first. You shake your head with a chuckle, and look down at your baby girl who is fast asleep still, still too young to understand the chaos of a family she was born into.
Molly laughs and speaks, “While those two battle of the soap, little do they know I already washed and sanitized my hands when I came in.” You laugh, knowing Molly Weasley came prepared to be the first one to hold her grandchild.
“Wait,” Fred stops his mother before you can pass the baby over to her. He pulls a vile of hand sanitizer from his pocket and squirts two drops in his mother’s hands, just in case. You slap his arm. “What? Can’t be too safe,” he defends himself. After Molly rubs in the gel, she looks at her son, giving him a sarcastic look. “Alright, now you can hold her,” he speaks as Molly rolls her eyes as you gently place Daisy in her arms.
Molly looks down at the newest addition to the Weasley family and her lights light up. Arthur looks over her shoulder and smiles softly at the beautiful babe in Molly’s arms. “She’s just a doll, isn’t she?” Arthur whispers as Molly cradles your daughter in her arms.
George and Ginny race back into the living room only to find their mother holding Daisy instead of one of them. George groans as Ginny defeatedly flops on the couch. “Snooze you lose, children,” she teases with a smile and George mimics her before flopping on the couch next to Ginny and Harry. Molly looks back at you and Fred with a big smile. “Well done, you two,” she beams as Fred hugs you from behind, resting his chin on the top of your head. “She’s simply beautiful.”
“Thank you, Molly,” you smile. “So, do you lot want to know her name?” you ask the group, earning a symphony of yes’s and please’s. You look up at Fred who gives you an encouraging nod. With a gulp, you reveal, “Her name is Daisy.” Hermione smiles widely and claps her hands excitedly. “Daisy Ginevra Weasley,” you finish.
Ginny’s eyes widen in shock at the baby’s middle name. It was important to both you and Fred that you had a family name in there besides the surname. You were insistent on giving Daisy Ginny’s name as her middle name. Ginny played a big factor in why you and Fred got together and she was always there for you every step of your relationship. It only seemed right to name your child after her. “You...you named her after me?” Ginny asks in disbelief as you and Fred nod your heads. “Bloody hell,” she whispers with a smile, tears making her eyes glassy, but she pushes them down with a shake of her head. “I don’t know what to say. I...” Ginny searches for the words, but just ends up running over to you and embracing you and Fred in the tightest hug.
You laugh and give her a squeeze before holding her face in your hands. “You’re my sister, Gin. It only made sense to name our first daughter after someone who means so much to the both of us,” you tell Ginny as she smiles, tears now spilling from her eyes. You wipe away the tears with your thumbs as Fred places a kiss to his sister’s forehead.
Ginny laughs before punching Fred’s arm teasingly. “Merlin, you lot have made me soft,” she wipes her tears with a sniffle, making you and Fred laugh. Molly walks over to her daughter and puts Daisy in her arms as Ginny gasps and holds the baby close to her chest. “Hello, little one,” she whispers as Fred holds you in his arms, smiling wide as he watches his little sister hold his daughter. The sight was enough to make you cry again. The person who had been so influential in you and Fred’s relationship was now holding your first born child. “Reckon you have quite a beautiful middle name, eh?” she laughs before taking a seat next to Harry on the couch.
“Georgina also has a nice ring to it. Daisy Georgina Weasley. It’s not too late, you know,” George tells you and Fred, making you laugh and Ginny give him a dirty look.
“Shut it, you wanker,” she whispers through gritted teeth.
“Ah, ah, ah! No swearing in front of the baby!” George tsks his sister before looking at you and Fred. “You don’t want a godparent who swears in front of children, now do you?” he continues to push Ginny’s buttons as she rolls her eyes, but continues to coo at Daisy who peels her eyes open and peers up at Ginny.
Fred walks towards George who sits in the living room chair and speaks, “Funny you should mention that. (Y/N) and I have both gone back and forth about this for a long while. And we decided that if anything should happen to either of us, we would want you to raise Daisy, George.” George’s eyes widen in disbelief as he looks back and forth between you and Fred as you smile widely. It was a no brainer deciding who Daisy’s godparent would be. George was the first person to know when you were pregnant, he made sure the joke shoppe could function the same now with Fred as a dad, he baby proofed his flat months in advance for Daisy’s arrival. George would be a great uncle and godfather to your child. “What do you say, Georgie?” Fred asks.
George engulfs Fred in a massive bear hug, making your heart swell as Molly wrapped her arm around you, pulling you into her side. Today was surely one of the best days of your life, watching your family care for this new life with so much love and tenderness. George pulls away from Fred with tears in his eyes, clearing his throat, and speaking, “Of course. Yeah, ‘course I will. If anyone lays a finger on that child consider them dead meat.” Fred laughs and hugs his brother again, the two of them sharing a tender moment.
Ginny rises from the couch and with a smile, passes Daisy over to her godfather and uncle. George holds Daisy with utmost care and carefulness. He carefully sits down and smiles at the small baby in his arms. “Hey, peanut. I’m your Uncle Georgie,” he smiles down at Daisy who yawns and stretches in his arms, pushing off her hospital cap in the process to reveal her tufts of strawberry blonde hair. “Ah, the Weasley signature,” George laughs. “Sorry about that one, (Y/N),” he winks as you laugh, sitting on the couch with Ginny’s legs folded over your lap as she kisses your cheek. “Godric, she’s beautiful, Freddie,” George gushes. “You’re gonna be a heart breaker, kid. Just like your mum before she met your dear old dad. You know it took him three times before she finally said yes to go out with him?”
“Alright, no need to embarrass me in front of my three day old child,” Fred laughs, sitting on the arm of the chair.
The whole lot of you sits in the living room, quite still, watching Daisy as she gets passed around the room, each person interacting with her, cooing at her. When she gets passed around to Ron and Hermione, Ron huffs, “So, Ginny is her namesake, George is her godparent, does that make me the cool uncle?”
With a laugh, you shake your head, “Absolutely. Every kid needs a cool uncle and aunt.”
Ron smiles, “Wicked.”
Hermione coos at Daisy, Ron gently brushing her cheek with his forefinger as Daisy yawns widely. “You are a darling,” Hermione blushes to the baby before looking at Ron with pleading eyes.
“Oh, don’t give me that look. I have the daunting job of being cool uncle. Let me get that job done first before we get involved with something else,” he warns as Hermione laughs along with the rest of the group.
You look over to Fred who is already looking at you, love plaguing his eyes as you sigh happily. He smiles at you gently before mouthing an I love you, you reciprocating the action. Everything in this moment felt so right, so perfect.
----------
“You’re coming over for dinner on Wednesday, right?” Ginny confirms with you as Harry helps her into her coat, baby Lily on Ginny’s hip.
Everyone had come over for Sunday dinner at you and Fred’s house, like every other week. But as the years went by, the dinner guest list had changed and adapted to include more people. Harry and Ginny’s first child as well as Ron and Hermione’s first child became a part of the guest list along with Angelina as she was now engaged to George. It was always something to look forward to at the end of the weekend, having family over. Not to mention, Daisy was obsessed with her cousins.
“Of course. I don’t think Daisy would let us miss it,” you tell Ginny as you kiss Harry and Ginny goodbye. “Dee! Come say goodbye Aunt Gin and Uncle Harry!” you call out to your daughter who is still running around with James, Albus, Rose, and Hugo.
Daisy, now three years old, whines, “I don’t want to say goodbye, Mummy!” She stomps her foot in protest and folds her arms in protest. Daisy loved every moment she spent with her family which only made you and Fred happier. Family was so important to the two of you and the fact that her best friends where her cousins always warmed your hearts.
You smiled at your daughter and replied, “I know, darling. But you’ll see everyone again on Wednesday when we visit Aunt Gin and Uncle Harry’s house.”
Ginny chimes in, “And when you come over, I’ll let you wear my quidditch gloves like last time. How does that sound?”
Daisy’s face lights up and she immediately runs over to Ginny and hugs her legs as Ginny scoops her up and peppers her face with kisses as Daisy laughs wildly. Daisy looked up to Ginny. She always told you and Fred how much she wanted to be like her and play quidditch and fly around on a broom and win all of the games. She even started to demand being called by her middle name and not her first name, but you compromised with Daisy Gin.
Ginny places Daisy back down before calling out, “Alright, Potters! Let’s get a move on. You boys both need a bath,” she huffs when she sees chocolate smeared over both of her boy’s faces as they giggle wildly, running to Harry as he scoops up Albus and sets him on his hip. “Maybe if Uncle Fred didn’t let you eat half of the sweets bin, you wouldn’t need a third bath today,” she speaks, ruffling her hands in James’ hair, giving Fred the stink eye.
“Cool uncles let their cool nephews eat a bit of chocolate now and again, isn’t that right, James?” Fred asks, James fist bumping him in response with a wide grin.
The Potters leave the house with a final round of goodbyes and kisses before Ron and Hermione follow suit, putting on jackets. Hermione bundles Hugo up in his rain boots and rain coat as Rose appears at your feet. “Auntie (Y/N), can Daisy and I have a sleepover again?” she asks, batting her eyes at you with the most devious smile she could conjure up.
Ron rubs his face, “Sweet Merlin, Rose, you are trouble with a capital t.”
You laugh and give Rose a kiss on her forehead, “Of course we can. How about next week you can sleepover here and we can go pancakes in the morning like last time?” Rose’s eyes widen as she and Daisy squeal with excitement.
“Come on, darling,” Hermione calls over to Rose, holding her hand out for Rose to take. “Thanks again, dinner was delicious, (Y/N),” Hermione kisses your cheek goodbye.
“Don’t mention it,” you speak. “We’re still on for drinks with Luna on Friday, right?” you ask as she nods excitedly. “Brilliant. That means cool uncle and cool dad are in charge of the kids,” you beam before giving Ron and hug goodbye.
Ron laughs, “Coolest uncle. I’ve been promoted.” You chuckle before waving goodbye to Ron, Hermione, and the kids. This just left George and Angelina which was always the toughest part of the night.
George slips on his coat as Angelina follows, before he calls out. “Alright, my flower,” he speaks. “Hit me with your best one.” He holds out his arms as Daisy giggles, running into his arms and throws her arms around his neck as George picks her up and swings her around, making Daisy squeal. “Oh, Uncle Georgie loves you so much,” he kisses her cheeks before blowing fart noises in her neck, making her laugh even harder. “I’ve got a proposal for you, my darling. How about little Daisy here helps up open up the shop next Saturday? Teach her about the family business?” he tickles her sides as Daisy giggles, Angelina watching her fiancé lovingly as he entertains the child with ease. “What do you say, (Y/N)? Dad will be there to make sure Uncle George doesn’t corrupt the child,” he teases as you roll your eyes.
You sigh and look at your husband and brother in law. “Yeah, alright,” you comply as Daisy cheers while George spins her around in victory. “Only if that means Angie and I get to have a night out on Saturday.”
Angelina laughs in agreement. “Absolutely. And it’s you lot’s treat,” she adds as you smile before giving her a hug and kiss goodbye. “I’ll see you soon, (Y/N). Thank you again for dinner.”
You watch as George dances around with Daisy, her smiling widely. George was a brilliant uncle and godfather. He was always willing to drop anything when you or Fred needed some help with her. Not to mention, he never minded playing babysitter when you and Fred needed a night alone.
Fred sighed, “Alright, Daisy Gin, time for a bath and bed. You’ve had a long day.”
“No!” she protests, wrapping her arms tighter around George’s neck, pressing her cheek against his as George laughs.
Fred pretends to gasp, “What do you mean no?”
“Uncle Georgie stays with me!” she demands. “And Auntie Angie!”
Fred’s heart swells at how much his young daughter loved his twin and his soon to be wife. “I know you want them to stay, my petal, but it’s time for bed. Besides, we’ll see Uncle George and Auntie Angie on Wednesday,” he tells your three year old as she pouts.
George speaks, “Hey, don’t be upset. That’s very soon. And besides, next time I see you, I’ll have a surprise...” This makes Daisy’s eyes light up with joy and clap her hands. “I’ll see you soon, okay? I love you bunches.”
“Love you,” Daisy smiles in her tiny voice as George places a kiss to her cheek, Angelina placing another kiss to her opposite cheek, making Daisy giggle. Daisy is handed off to Fred as the last couple leaves with another round of hugs and kisses.
“Get home safe! And be careful on the roads! It’s supposed to storm tonight!” Fred calls out as George and Angelina hop into their car with another wave. Fred closes the door with a sigh. Now it was just you, him, and Daisy. “Alright, you,” he teases Daisy who smiles. “I think it’s time for you to take a bath,” he scoops your daughter up into his arms, taking one of her bare feet in his hand, lifting it up to his nose. He feigns disgust. “Those stink, Daisy Gin!” he exclaims as Daisy giggles. “Mummy, we’ve got a 2342! Stinky feet!”
You gasp, “A 2342?!” Daisy laughs louder. “Get her in the bath! Stat!”
With that, Fred runs up the stairs and to the bathroom as Daisy shrieks with delight as you can’t help but chuckle. Even the simplest things Fred made fun. Each day with Fred as the father of your child was an adventure. He made the simple days extraordinary and the extraordinary days out of this world. He was the center of Daisy’s world; that baby girl loved her father more than anything. Sometimes it made you a little jealous, how much she adored Fred, but you couldn’t stay mad for too long. It was just so damned adorable how she stared up at Fred with so much idolization.
From your bedroom, you could hear Fred and Daisy sing nursery rhymes in the bath, Fred doing silly voices which only made Daisy giggle. The sang, they counted, talked about animals, and colors. Each babbling conversation made your heart swell with love.
“Mummy!” you hear Daisy call from her bedroom.
“Coming, my peanut!”
You walked down the hall and into Daisy’s room, decorated in white and yellow flowers on the walls with a bookcase filled with books and toys, and her small bed with sheets adorned with Holyhead Harpies sheets as per Daisy’s request. She sat on the bed, wrapped in her towel, waiting for you to change her into pajamas. It was your favorite part of the day.
You smiled at your daughter with freshly washed hair, wrapped in a green towel. “There’s my flower,” you smiled as Daisy kicked her legs excitedly. “What pajamas are we wearing tonight? Your Harpies pajamas are in the wash, but you have your daisy pajamas from Uncle Neville and your rainbow pajamas from Auntie Luna.” Daisy thinks for a moment before requesting her daisy pajamas from Neville.
As you change your daughter into fresh pajamas, you listen to her babble about how much fun she had with her cousins and how she couldn’t wait for Wednesday. You smiled to yourself, still wondering how you were so lucky to get the sweetest, most darling little girl in the world as your daughter. You brushed her hair gently before plaiting her red hair that matched Fred’s into two pigtail plaits. Daisy smiled at herself in the mirror as you peppered her right cheek with kisses making her giggle. “I love you, Daisy Gin,” you tell her.
“I love you, Mummy,” she bats her eyelashes, looking up at you with those big chocolate brown eyes that so resembled Fred’s. All of Daisy reminded you of Fred. From her hair to her eyes to the way she spoke, it was all so Fred which only made you love your little tike more fiercely.
You carried her back to bed, tucking her in her sheets before calling out for Fred. Within seconds, Fred appeared with a smile on his face. “Bedtime for my princess,” he smiles before kneeling next to you at her bedside. “Goodnight, my baby,” he kisses her forehead as Daisy closes her eyes with a smile.
“I’m not a baby!” she protests. “I’m a big girl! Like Auntie Ginny!”
Fred smiles as you laugh. “Oh, pardon me! Goodnight, my big girl,” he corrects himself as you lean over and give your baby a kiss on the forehead.
You run your finger through the loose strands of hair that are wispy around her face. “Sweet dreams, my girl,” you speak softly.
“Goodnight, Mummy,” she speaks sweetly, enough to make your heart burst. “Goodnight, Daddy,” she coos at Fred who smiles.
The two of you shut the lights and shut the door gently. You and Fred make your way into your bedroom, getting ready for bed yourselves. As Fred shuts the door behind him, you feel his arms wrap around your waist as you sigh. He presses a trial of kisses up your neck as you smile. “She’s getting so big,” you whine, turning around and facing Fred. He places a chaste kiss to your lips.
Fred sighs. It was true. Daisy was growing up way too fast for your liking. It was exciting, watching her become her own person. But at the same time, you loved her at this age. How small and confident she was. How she thought she was so in control. It was adorable. “I don’t like thinking about it too much,” he confesses. “But...” he trails off before starting to unbutton the buttons of your shirt. “We could prevent that...if we had another...” he suggests as you smirk. “It’s been nearly three years. Don’t you think we deserve another one?” he wiggles his eyebrows. “Another baby to keep Daisy company...”
You shake your head, “Fred Weasley, you are relentless.” You press a kiss to his lips and Fred deepens it, kissing you slowly and tenderly as you gently moan into his mouth. He smirks as he pushes the shirt you wear off your body. Quickly pulling away, you look at him. “Are you sure she’s asleep already? I don’t need our daughter walking in on a situation neither of us want to explain to a three year old,” you tell him.
Fred huffs before kissing you again, mumbling against your lips. “I’m sure.” You give him a knowing look as he groans, “Fine. I’ll lock the door. But you better get your ass in that bed.”
You giggle as Fred runs to the door, locking it as you crawl into the bed, a little too excited.
----------
A few hours later, you and Fred are fast asleep, Fred shirtless, arm draped around your torso as you wear his shirt to sleep. The sounds of rain hitting the window sound through the master bedroom, the occasional rumble of thunder here and there. To you and Fred, the rain always helped you sleep, but the youngest Weasley disagreed.
Slowly, the bedroom door creaked open further. She held onto her hippogriff plushie tightly, eyes full of worry. “Mummy?” she quietly asked into the room as you stirred in your sleep, slowly recognizing the voice. “Mummy? Daddy?” she called out again.
You woke up, sitting up straight to see your baby girl standing in the door way, fear in her eyes as she clung onto her plushie. Thunder rumbled outside as Daisy gasped, scared of the noise. “Daisy? Baby, what’s wrong, petal?” you asks, sleep laced in your voice.
She ran to the side of the bed as lightning flashed, you scooping her up in your arms as she held onto you tight, shivering lightly. Sadness coursed through your body as you realized your baby was afraid of the storm that was outside. “Aw, my flower,” you cooed as you rocked her back and forth, her sniffling into your chest. “It’s okay, my love,” you speak, kissing her head.
Fred rubs his eyes and realizing that his daughter was crying into his wife’s chest. Panic rises in Fred’s voice, “Is she alright? Do I need to call a Healer? Muggle doctor?”
You shake your head no. “Our little Daisy Gin is afraid of the storm,” you whisper to Fred who nods his head. “It’s alright, baby. Mummy and Daddy are here,” you flip yourself around so Daisy can see her father. “See? We’re here, petal. Everything is alright.”
Daisy sniffles as she looks at Fred and gives him a timid wave. Fred smiles sadly at his princess and speaks, “Hello, flower. The rain woke you up, huh?” Daisy nods her head. “Bloody rain. Should I yell at the rain? And tell it to stop bothering us?” he asks, still groggy, but you can hear the smile in his voice.
Daisy giggles and nods her head as Fred rises from the bed and walks over to the window, opening it up mid-storm despite your protests. He sticks his head out of the window and screams out, “Hey! Rain! Go away!”
Your daughter laughs madly in your arms as you can’t help but chuckle. Surely the neighbors think you have lost your minds. Fred shuts the window and climbs back into bed as you and Daisy’s laughter fades. However, the laughter is replaced with another shriek from Daisy as lightning strikes and thunder rumbles. She retreats further into your chest as you rub her back, kissing her head.
An idea pops into Fred’s head as he opens his arms for Daisy to curl into. He clears his throat and starts, “I’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day. When it’s cold outside, I’ve got the month of May.” Your heart instantly melts at the sound of Fred singing to your daughter like he did the day she was born in the hospital three years ago. “I guess you’d say what can make me feel this way, my girl,” he sings as he looks to you to join him.
“Talkin’ ‘bout my girl,” you join Fred as the three of you lay in the bed, Daisy cuddled in between the two of you, her sniffles fading. You continue to sing until her eyes start to flutter close and her mouth emits small snores. Slowly, you fade out as she is soundly asleep. Fred brushes his little girl’s hair out of her face with a soft smile. You are too occupied looking at Fred and how he stares at your daughter, your heart racing. As if he couldn’t be a better dad.
Fred looks at you with a smile. “I love you,” you tell him with a small shake of your head. “I love you so much.”
“I love you so much more, my dear,” he speaks before placing a kiss on the tip of your nose. “You’re my world. The two of you complete me. My girls.”
With that, you and Fred cuddle up to your sleeping daughter, falling asleep to the sounds of the rain.

Can you write Mickey be the whipped married guy in his friend group who always leaves early because he misses his husband 😂🥰
“Read ‘em and weep, boys,” Mickey said, smirking as he laid his cards on the table with a flourish.
The other three men groaned, tossing their own cards to the middle without even bothering to show them.
“That’s the third one in a row, Milkovich,” one of them complained. “You tryin’ to hussle us?”
“Ey! Shut up, Danny,” another hissed, whacking his arm with the back of one hand. “Kid’ll probably gut ya for sayin’ that shit.”
“Nah,” Danny said. “He wouldn’t dare, he’d get sent back to the can without his hubby.”
All three men broke out into raucous laughter, Danny making kissy noises until Mickey grabbed up a handful of cards from the table and smacked them right into his pursed lips.
“Yeah yeah, laugh it up,” Mickey said. “Just remember that Joe knows what he’s talkin’ about—learned a lot of ways to kill a guy in prison.”
“Not much else to do there,” Joe agreed with a nod as the other two men started to wind down.
“Unless you got a man!” the third man, Timmy, chimed in, and they were off again.
“Sure, sure,” Mickey said, letting them laugh. “But there’s only so much an ass can take, fellas, and once that’s done…”
He mimed slitting his own throat.
“Ugh, Mickey,” Danny groaned. “We don’t need to know that shit, man.”
“You’re the maintenance guy, Dan,” Timmy said. “Don’t tell me you never walked in on the two of ‘em?”
“Fuck no!” Danny exclaimed. “If their stupid little ambulance is in the lot, I come back later!”
“Lucky,” Joe sighed. “I was up there cleaning the windows once before they got curtains, and—”
“Whoa!” Mickey interrupted, holding out a hand over the table. “Let’s keep that shit to ourselves, fuck you very much.”
Joe grinned.
“Why should I?” he asked. “Not like you cared at the time.”
Mickey rolled his eyes.
“At the time, I had a more important issue to deal with.”
His phone went off in his pocket, the shrill tone cutting through the room loud enough to halt the conversation.
“Speak of the fuckin’ devil,” Mickey muttered, digging it out. “Ian just texted, he’s heading back up. Sorry guys, guess that’s it for today.”
A chorus of groans met his statement, a chair creaking as Danny leaned back too far.
“You always abandon us, man,” he complained. “As soon as he’s done, you nope outa here, even in the middle of a hand.”
Mickey raised his eyebrows.
“We in the middle of a hand now, genius?” he asked. “No? Then if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go meet up with my husband.”
“Fine, fine,” Danny said with a sad wave. “But someday you gotta at least bring him down here to meet us when we play, so you can’t go runnin’ off before you lose.”
Mickey snorted.
“I don’t lose,” he said dryly. “And you’ve already met him.” He looked around the table, meeting every pair of eyes. “All of you fuckers have.”
“Yeah,” Danny said. “I have. And you know what?” He sucked his bottom lip into his mouth, let it go. “I don’t fuckin’ get it, man, I really don’t.”
“I’m with Dan,” Timmy said, sitting straight. “Guy’s an over-sized puppy dog, and you’re a badass, Mick. How’s he got you so wrapped around his little finger?”
Mickey waited a beat, then looked to Joe.
“Anything you want to add?” he asked the cleaner, but Joe just shook his head.
“Nah man,” he said with a snort. “I’ve seen exactly how he’s got you wrapped up.”
Mickey flushed.
“You shut the fuck up,” he demanded, pointing at the older man. “Or next time, I’ll open the window and shove you off your platform.”
“The windows don’t open!” Danny called toward Mickey’s back as he turned to walk away.
Mickey threw him a middle finger over his shoulder.
“And I’m not sure you’d get to them anyway if he trusses you up like that every time!” Joe added, and got the other finger added for his efforts.
The door to the basement slammed as Mickey left, and the three men were left alone in the pleasantly chilly employees-only room.
“Think he’ll ever bring him by?” Timmy wondered.
“Nah,” Joe answered him. “Only time he comes down here’s when Big Red is busy.”
They all nodded in agreement as Joe gathered up the cards again.
“Another hand fellas?”
Exactly a week later, Joe, Danny, and Timmy were down in the basement again, clustered around their little card table between the lockers that held their personal things.
“Too hot to be mowing, man,” Timmy complained, running a hand through his sweaty hair. “When I took this job, I thought it’d be cushy, but that Melanie bitch is demanding as fuck.”
“Your own fault for pickin’ such a stupid job, mate,” Danny told him with a heavy pat on the back. “It is hot as balls out, though,” he agreed a second later as he took a seat. "That weird lady on the third floor doesn't run the AC, and I was up there all mornin' fixin' her shower."
“Anybody know if Mickey’s joinin’ today?” Joe asked, shuffling the same deck of cards they used every week.
“Nah,” Timmy answered. “He only comes when his man’s at the gym, yeah?” Danny and Joe both nodded. “Well, Big Red was headin’ up to his place when I finished up; he must’ve decided it was too hot too.”
But before Joe could start dealing, the door above them creaked open, and they could hear heavy footfalls on the steps. From the sound of it, more than one person.
Mickey appeared first, a wide smirk on his face, followed immediately by Big Red himself.
“Hey losers,” Mickey greeted, making straight for the table. But instead of sitting, he just pulled out the chair, and motioned for his husband to take it.
“Uh, hi guys,” Ian Gallagher said as he obediently sat down. “I hope you don’t mind me joining.”
The three men just stared, then stared harder as Mickey, instead of finding a seat of his own, chose to plop right down on Gallagher’s lap.
“Figured you guys had bugged me enough,” he told them. “Might as well give you what you asked for.”
“Uh, yeah.” Joe was the first one to recover, offering a cautious smile to the newcomer. “Hey man, good to see ya. You know how to play?”
“Probably,” Ian said with a shrug, one arm wrapping around Mickey’s waist to keep him in place. “What are we playing? Five card draw? Texas hold’em? Seven card stud? High Chicago? Low Chicago? Follow the Queen?”
He looked around the table, and stopped when all he saw were stunned faces.
“Uh…or something else?” he added hesitantly.
“No, no, just…regular poker,” Joe answered, eyes wide. “None of that weird shit.”
“Oh, sorry,” Ian said with a little laugh. “My dad made sure we knew all the games, made it easier to help him cheat. I remember one time he tried to sneak me into a casino just to grab wallets while he played, but I ended up winning big at a high-rollers table until they found out I was only seventeen and chased us out.”
He sighed wistfully.
“Still wish I had managed to cash out first, would have set us up for a year.”
All the men, Mickey excluded, just blinked at him.
“Your puppy tellin’ the truth, Mick?” Timmy finally squeaked, but all he got from Mickey was a shark-like grin.
“Deal him in,” Mickey ordered with a nod to Joe. “And remember, you fuckers asked for this.”

Hawks Getting Y/n Pregnant After A Rut
Tumblr media
This was a request but I can’t find the ask where it was requested, but it certainly was requested.
Genre: fluff
Type: headcannon/drabble
Word Count: 1.7K Words
Warnings: pregnancy, mentions of sex, mentions of rut, children, vomiting, Keigo being a bit of an asshole, doctors, mentions of sensory overload, mentions of blood, crying, reader calls Kei ‘daddy’ as a joke once,
Other: I did my best to keep it gender neutral, so there aren’t any gendered pronouns used for the reader, so they could be non binary or trans masc. Also, I do plan on never getting pregnant and have never been pregnant before so I really have no experience and no qualifications to be writing on this subject so let’s just see how this turns out.

“Kei.”
“Nope.”
“Kei.”
“I said no.”
“I said yes.”
“Well too damn bad. I’m not carrying you.”
“It’s your damn fault I can’t walk, you fucked me for five days straight this time around, I literally can’t feel my legs. You will carry me.”
“Except it isn’t my fault I have ruts, I’m not in control.”
“It was your dick fucking me, Kei. No one else’s, so it’s your fault.”
This was a normal occurrence in the springtime, right after Keigo’s ruts. The small fight over your capabilities.
“You can walk to the bathroom yourself.” Keigo was in bed next to you, arms crossed. “It’s literally been a whole ass week.”
“You fucked me for five days!” you exclaimed. “Do you really expect me to be up and running the same amount of time after that?”
“Yes!” Keigo exclaimed. “It’s not like I hurt you or anything, you barely did anything the whole time, you’re fine!”
You leaned across the bed to glare him in the eyes, examining his slitted pupils for any sign that he might back down. You found none.
“Ughhhh fiiiiiine I’ll walk.” you groaned, throwing the blankets aside and standing up. Your legs were still sore, but you could maneuver them well enough. “Asshole.” you grumbled
“Oh yes, I’m the asshole.” he smirked, sitting back. You rolled your eyes, pausing for a moment to hold onto the edge of the bed.
“Something doesn’t feel right...” you muttered.
“Seriously, Y/n? I said I wasn’t carrying you so-”
“No, Kei I’m not joking, I feel sick.”
“I’m sure you’re just hungry.” Keigo waved you off, seemingly uncaring about your situation. You shot him another glare that he totally missed. Suddenly, you felt something move up in your body, and you launched yourself into the bathroom to crouch over the toilet.
“Babe?” Keigo sat up in bed, trying to peek into the bathroom. He blanched when he heard you gasp, and then a loud splat noise. He was on his feet in an instant, crouching next to you as you wiped your mouth with toilet paper.
“I fuckin told you...” you grumbled, and he rubbed your back worriedly.
“Boy who cried wolf!” he exclaimed “I’m sorry, baby, are you okay?”
“Do I look okay?” you snapped, and he frowned. “I’m sorry, no, I’m not okay- hold up- more’s coming-”
You threw up the next day too.
And the day after that.
One the fourth day, Keigo was panicking, insisting he take you to the doctors.
-
“I keep telling him I’m fine, I probably just caught a stomach bug or something.” you shrugged, sitting on the uncomfortable table bed thingie inside the doctor’s office. Keigo was in the chair behind you, holding your hand.
Not for your comfort, but for his.
He hated the sterile smell of the doctors, hated the smooth white walls with charts hanging from them, too bright lights stabbing at his eyes, and the smooth way the doctors spoke was all too similar to his handlers from the commission.
You wanted to get the visit over with and get Keigo out of here before he went into sensory overload, you knew just how much he hated hospitals and doctors, and while it was sweet that he would force himself to go through it for you, you didn’t want him to.
“I keep telling them they’re not fine,” Keigo grumbled. “Look at them, they don’t look fine and I keep telling them something’s wrong but-”
“Please don’t start to fight in my office,” the doctor sighed, she glanced between you and Keigo. “I understand Hawks goes through ‘ruts’ as you would call them in the springtime, and during that time he is much more fertile than usual. Have the two of you just finished one of those ruts?”
“Yes,” you answered quickly. “It lasted five days this time.” Keigo nodded.
“DO you think maybe I got them sick?” Kei worried, squeezing your hand tighter.
“Keigo have you ever heard of someone getting sick after sex and not- oh oh, Doctor are you implying-”
“Yes, I am, you should probably get tested for it. We can do a blood test, they’re more accurate.”
“Thank you, Ma’am.”
“I’ll send you to the Hematologist,”
“The what?”
“Blood doctor, Keigo. I need a blood test.”
“So I did get you sick!”
“Oh my god Keigo, no, just- we’ll see what happens.”
“Is it normal that I’m confused?”
“Unfortunately, it’s very normal.”
-
Keigo continued to be confused and worried for the next few days, at least until you got an email.
“Why’s this one so important?” Keigo pouted. “And why can’t I read it with you?”
“It’s the result of the blood test.” you explained, clicking on the email and scrolling past the formalities to get to the result
“So basically it’s the result of whether my cum is toxic or not...” Keigo was laying on the bed near your feet while you were sat up on your laptop.
“Your cum isn’t toxic, Kei.” you chuckled, reading through the email. “I would have gotten ‘sick’ much sooner if your cum was toxic.”
“How do you know my cum didn’t just- suddenly become toxic?” he exclaimed
“Keigo. Stop. Your cum is not toxic.” you sighed, finally reaching the results.
Your lips lifted up and you started to practically buzz with excitement. You cupped your hands over your mouth and squealed. Keigo lifted his head up, staring at you in confusion.
“Babe? What happened?” His wings twitched as you shut the laptop, setting it aside and flinging yourself at him. Your arms squeezing his midsection tight. “Ah shit- Y/n what’s going on? Why are you so happy?” He sat up, pulling you into his lap. “I’m not against you smiling and cuddling me but I am still very much confused.”
“Keigo, I’m pregnant!” you squealed, holding onto his shoulders, your face was stretched wide in a bright smile “We’re gonna have a baby!”
“Wait- what?” His face immediatelty lifted
“Yes! We’re gonna have a kid!”
“Holy shit, really?” He hands flew to your stomach “My kid is in there?” He sucked his bottom lip into his mouth to keep it from quivering, his hands were shaking against your stomach.
“Yes, Keigo. You’re gonna be a dad!” He let out a warbled sort of chirp, pressing his face into your neck. His breath fanned out over your skin, and you could feel moisture against it.
“I’m so happy!” he whispered, voice wavering slightly “Fuck I’m so happy with you, I- I’m gonna be a good dad for our little chick.” his hand rubbed circles against your belly. You traced your hand up to rub Keigo’s back.
“They’re lucky to have someone like you to be their dad, Kei. I love you, and I know you’ll raise our child right.” His grip in you tightened
“I- I can’t I’m just- fuck words can’t describe it, I-” He  pulled away from your neck and pressed his lips against yours, you closed your eyes and kisses back, enjoying his passion. It was like however close you could be wasn’t close enough, and he needed to just be with you.
You broke the kiss a few minutes later, pulling away to cup his face. His golden eyes were full of tears, and his smile was the brightest it had ever been.
“I love you...” he whispered. “And I already love our kid.” You stroked his cheek with your finger, speechless. You kisses his nose, giggling a little.
“We’re gonna be a family,” you told him
“I can’t wait!”
-
After that, Keigo just couldn’t keep his hands off you, especially your belly, even while it was small, he just couldn’t keep himself from holding your belly and talking to the baby.
“Goodnight, Y/n~” Keigo pressed a kiss to your cheek, a hand rubbing circles onto your growing belly. “And goodnight Akina!”
“Keigo, we don’t know if it’s gonna be a girl, so don’t name it just yet!” you chuckled.
“But Akina’s just perfect, if it’s a girl then she’d be a lovely spring flower” he cooed, scooching down to your belly.
“Keigo, I’d be concerned if our baby was born in the springtime, that’s way late!”
“Well she was conceived in springtime!” Keigo exclaimed, pressing his cheek to your belly “Weren’t you, Akina? My beautiful daughter~”
“You don’t know if it’s your daughter or your son yet, Kei! Seriously!” you laughed at the way he spoke to your belly, running your hands through his golden tresses.
“Well if it’s a boy, what do you think his name should be?” he asked
“I was thinking Hajime, I mean this is a whole new beginning for both of us.”
“Hajime...” Keigo breathed, pressing a kiss to your belly. “My darling child, my Hajime, my Akina, my perfect child I already love you~”
You buried your face in your hands, giggling, Keigo was just too precious sometimes, you couldn’t wait to have his and your child.
“Oh! Keigo I felt something!” you exclaimed, Keigo sat up, pressing his hand against your belly.
“Was it a-”
“Yes! They’re kicking!” you placed your hand over Keigo’s, moving it so he could feel the small bursts of pressure. You heard him suck in a breath, vibrating with happiness.
“They’re so strong!” he was beaming with pride, feeling his child kick up against his hand. “I’m going to keep them so safe, they won’t cry like I have, like you have, they’ll know true happiness.”
“We’ll protect them, and when our little birdie is ready, then one day they can fly away...”
“But we’ll always be there when they need us.” Keigo pressed himself against you, kissing your neck “We’ll all be so happy!”
“Keigo, that tickles!”
“I still can’t believe it, that little chick will call me ‘dad!’”
“What, is me calling you ‘daddy’ not enough?” you joked and he laughed, pressing one more kiss to your skin before rolling onto his stomach and resting his head on your shoulder
“I love you Y/n, I love you Akina, Hajime,” he murmured, you settled into the blankets next to him, letting him cover your body with one of his wings as you absentmindedly wrapped an arm around his body.
“I love you too, Keigo. And you, my child.”
Oh my gosh
I wanna do a part two
But like- angsty?
Idfk this is just v fun-
It’s either gonna be fluffy Hajime/Akina being born and living life to the fullest
A miscarriage
Or maybe the reader dies and Keigo has to raise the child alone- which could very well result in Keigo abusing the child- AHHH SO MANY POSSIBILITIESS
