Do you know of Drarry fics with a reality tv show theme 😁
Hi anon! I don’t know many but these are great fun:
a new kind of blind date by swoons (T, 1.2k)
Keen to escape his fans, Harry joins the cast of a hidden-identity dating show. The Love is Blind AU.
Blind Date by nerakrose (G, 1.8k)
A variety of high profile people are roped into a Blind Date reality programme.
Selling Britain by prolix (T, 3k)
The housing market in Wizarding Britain is booming, and the competition between realtors is fierce. “Selling Britain” offers a glimpse into the rich and ruthless lives of real estate brokers at the Patil Group, Diagon Alley’s premier real estate agency. Tensions are high after new realtor Harry Potter joins the team, but no one is more upset about the new addition than veteran agent Draco Malfoy. Or: Drarry meets "Selling Sunset".
The Perfect Match by PalenDrome (M, 16k)
After a disastrous blind date lands him an unflattering headline in the Prophet, Harry's friends convince him that being a contestant on a wizarding dating show couldn't be any worse.
Last City by zeitgeistic (E, 27k)
Twenty-four Twenty-three men, six cities, and one unusual sexual requirement.
Desperately Seeking... by @maesterchill (E, 34k)
Harry Potter is NOT desperate for someone to love. He DOESN'T need anyone's help to find a date. And he CERTAINLY doesn't want to go on a dating show! Unfortunately for him, his teenage children have other ideas. After all, they know just how big and loving (and a little bit lonely) their dad's heart is.
The Incredible Race by dysonrules (M, 50k)
Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy, Aurors, are forced to join a televised global race in order to provide some free positive publicity for the Ministry, despite the fact that Aurors Potter and Malfoy don't exactly get along.

I'm really liking this era of reality show competitions that I believe started from the great british bake off, where it´s a competition, everyone wants to win, but it´s such a friendly and supportive environment.
Like, I love RuPaul's Drag Race, but I watch it because of the genuine talent and culture behind drag and even though it makes really good memes or interesting plays like in All Stars, sometimes the drama is too much.
So it's nice to have shows like Next in Fashion, Blown Away, Academy of Chocolate and such, they make me so happy. Like, honestly for mental health purposes, go to the Reality Show section of Netflix.
Bonus points for also doing these shows about not regular stuff that allows people to showcase their talent and those in the field of arts get an impulse and profit even if they do not win.

I have now watched The Traitors UK, US, and Australia. I think I know why I like this show so much.
The Traitors is to most competition reality shows as Diplomacy is to Risk. It is assassins’ guild games distilled into their essence: who do you trust, who can you manipulate, and will your strategies work.
The game is all about talking with other people and convincing them to vote for someone. Sure there are money-building games, which most contestants do in good faith. Unlike The Mole, no one is tasked with sabotaging these games. Failure to complete a challenge does not eliminate you from the game. The show forces the competitors to work together and then turn on each other. There is so much heartbreak.
Greed is a motivating factor, but it rarely matters until the endgame. The shields are a good game mechanic to add roadblocks. Recruiting a Faithful to become a Traitor is chef’s kiss.
All three games were played differently. The audience knows more than the players. Sometimes I found myself rooting for the traitors to win, and other times for them to lose. Like the players, my allegiances kept shifting. A lot of this is due to the editing.
Side note: Alan Cumming knew the assignment. The drama, the sarcasm, the outfits. He was the most engaging presenter. Next time, give us a pause on his walk down the staircase to fully take in his ensembles. (Claudia was very good at Being Disappointed and then reprimanding the Faithful. Roger did not seem invested in the game at all.)

This is a seriously fascinating idea that I would actually be really curious to see irl. I've never watched any of the bachelor/bachelorette type shows but I could definitely see myself giving a real version of this a shot for at least a season or two.
Are you saying you're not a dating show enthusiast? Interesting...
I never got into the bachelor/bachelorette specifically. I prefer my reverse harems/harems to be willing lolol. Admittingly, I am a fan of reality shows. So, the concept of LL came from shows like Love is Blind, Too Hot too Handle, The Masked Singer, The Circle, and of course Love Island. :)

One of my not-so-guilty pleasures is watching America's Next Top Model.
I love the old cycles from the early 2000s, the low budget, the go-sees, the traveling abroad, the older fashion styles and trends.
It's just so fun and cute to watch! 💕

Making a reality show but as a cartoon is actually a really, really good idea.
None of the contestants are real, which is great because in this way people won't get obsessed with actual real life people. Challenges can be as crazy as they can be without it being too unrealistic. Stereotyped characters on tv shows can be cranked up to 11 on the stereotype scale. Having episodes that are scripted makes so much sense because it's a cartoon, all reality shows have scripted stuff but it's better since we expect it from a cartoon. And in this way villains can be kept on longer and drama can be held out.
What's also cool is that two winners can be chosen. We can see the outcomes of both winning the prize which is always super nice. fresh really hit the money when they decided to do Total Drama, and Ridonculous Race for that matter. They should start doing more scripted cartoon reality shows. There's so many that would make great cartoons.
