our entire political system is flawed, but
you're not going to change it in one election to perfection; what you can absolutely do is make everything worse in one election. also, you can acknowledge that the system needs work and that you want more without lying and pretending as if it has produced nothing positive for you. the problem right now with many people is that you guys want an instant solution. you want an instant fix. however, there is no such thing. there will not be one election or one candidate or one bill that's going to fix this. this is going to take long-term, strategic, methodical work for us to make it right, and i can tell right now that many people are not up for the task. they're too weak, but they won't be weak enough to complain, make videos, tweets, ig posts, reels, tiktoks, blog posts and whatever whining when shit hits the fan. they'll be the first ones howling at the moon and gnashing their teeth without taking responsibility for the part they played in the shitstorm.
here's some simple advice: pack the senate and congress with hardcore progressives. hardcore progressives. and then go to your local election and pack that with hardcore progressives again. but by no means should any of us accept any talk or strategy that gives the republicans power. at some point, you've got to stop playing checkers in a chess game.
however, the problem is this point of view should have been adopted in 2016. i fear that it might actually be too late because people played checkers in the chess game knowing full well that whoever won that election was going to have at least one supreme court pick. that winner actually got three and now has set this country back for the foreseeable future. generations are going to be feeling that pain. we missed out on critical years to address climate change. the voting rights of black people have been completely undermined. the educational opportunities for black people have also been undermined. discrimination against gay people has been affirmed. we saw the death of millions of americans at the hands of a global pandemic that was profoundly mishandled, and yet having seen and experience all of this people are willing to entertain the idea of allowing those in power who did all this to get even more power again. UNBELIEVABLE! people like that deserve ridicule.
if you actually care about black lives, people of color, trans rights, gay rights, healthcare, education, palestine, dr congo, police brutality, child poverty, climate change, restoring democracy, voting rights, equitable access to all levels of education, ending the prison industrial complex, women's rights, and etc do not entertain any talk about taking actions that will give republicans power. not in the short term. not in the long term. don't let your anger and your disappointment force your hand into making things worse for yourself and others. there's already been widespread voter suppression so if you think you're going to give republicans all that power and then vote to take it away from them down the line when everything is more to your liking, you are delusional. if you really want to change things (like for real, you're not just talking shit about "progress"),here are some insightful videos:

The best joke in the PJO series so far is them trying to make us believe the trio will get across the country on only $200.
Like my writers in Christ, that wouldn’t get them out of NYC even if all went smoothly. Even back in 2005. And I’m presuming this is set in modern day because Walker is flossing.

Is it crack?
IS IT CRACK?? IS THAT WHAT YOU ARE SNORTING??? 9 year olds have manifested a shit ton in a day and you, the god, think you can't?? People have manifested their entire everything within 2-3 by literally doing nothing!!! Get off this crack before I whoop your ass, drugs aren't god friendly.
No but seriously, come on. Apply and persist. There is nothing to lose, thankfully loa is a law. Just like gravity, if you assume it MUST manifest.

Ranunculus asiaticus (Persian buttercup)
Finally, City Hall is spending my hard-earned, tax dollars on something worthwhile. These highly double-flowered Persian buttercups were planted-out just a few days ago by a city works crew. This species can tolerate light frost, but are not hardy at temperatures below -10°C (15 degrees Fahrenheit). No doubt raised in a luxurious greenhouse, these lovely pieces of 'eye candy' are now getting their first taste of the real world. That's usually when the trouble starts.

Things kids these days ought to know:
You can call a genocide a genocide without comparing it to the Holocaust. It's still a genocide but it's not the Holocaust.
Many, many genocides have happened around the world throughout history and they really aren't comparable with one another.
Don't compare anything to the Holocaust. Just don't. Really, don't.

Buck's Reality Checklist
as part of my initiative to remix my own words, i give you what i imagine buck to have written when he visited maddie and told her about his coma vs. real world checklist after thinking on dr. salazar's words in 6x12:
Buck: When I wake up, and I mean like every single time, I have this checklist now that I run in my head, like a way to test that I'm really here. Maddie: So, what do you check?
with buck's research tendencies, i'm pretty sure he would have research binged the SHIT out of this topic. so i did too, and boy is it interesting. the first couple are common and popular items that have been found on coma/lucid dream/nightmare reality check lists.

[ID/alt text: a torn out coffee-stained and waterlogged page from a beat up yellow Five Star Notebook, sitting on top. The title of the list reads: Reality Checklist
Turn over & look at the digital alarm clock. If the numbers can all be read, this is real.
Try to breathe through a fully closed nose. If impossible, this is real.
Pick up the phone & text EdBobby to say hello. If he responds (always), this is real.
Press a finger against one palm. If willing it to go through does nothing, this is. real.
Get up & turn on the light switch. If it automatically goes on, this. is real.
Look down at feet & focus on counting all ten toes. If all counts out as intended, this (check your math!), this is real.
Go down the stairs & to the frigifridge. If pictures with the Diaz boys are still there, this is real.
Eddies still has Chris. They’re in the 2ⁿᵈ photo from the bottom, smiling :) This was taken last month. LOOK. This is real.
I'm still in love with Eddie. Oh my god, I love, I l still love him. I LOVE him. I love Eddie. THIS IS REAL.
Eddie trusted me with Chris. Chris wanted me to come back.. He TOLD me to come back fromwhere I was. I CAME BACK. I came back. I did, I did, I did. THIS. IS REAL.
You have your life back & you wondered if coming back here is worth it. It is. Your asked yourself if they need you. They do. They do. You MATTER, you MATTER, YOU matter. Happiness is in the doing, right? Do. Fight. Because you matter.
You got this Evan Buckley.]

Reality Truth bombs #1
Everything takes effort.
Whether its a work promotion, a relationship, or learning to love yourself, everything takes effort.
You get jealous of other people’s lives because you can’t imagine putting in half the effort they put to have their lives.
With what audacity can you be jealous of someone else’s life when you don’t even put in the effort to better yours?
You want to work on your body but you can’t even do a 10 minute workout or put one meal with decent nutritional value in your body.
You want to have friends, but you don’t reach out to the ones who have always supported you.
You want to be rich, but you refuse to get financially literate because its too overwhelming.
You want to own nice things but half your day goes in daydreaming rather than working towards your goals.
Then you get mad at someone else’s goals and progress. Because they had the courage to take that first step towards their new life.
It starts with one step.
One 10 minute YouTube yoga video.
One snack that is fruit.
One message to check in on your loved ones : “How are you?”
One article or YouTube video about personal finance.
One goal a day that you promise yourself to achieve no matter what.

Hello! I just had a quick scroll through your blog and it helped me to understand a bit more! I was wondering if you could answer a question of mine? I have a friend with Schizophrenia and just in you personal experience, does confirming things that are real bad? Like if they think they hear dogs barking and aren't sure if it is real or not it's good to confirm something like that right?
Well I can't speak for everyone with schizophrenia. We are all different and have unique needs and preferences. I think you should ask your friend, they know themselves best.
As an example of how it could go: for me I'll ask my partner if they hear/see/smell something. And they will casually and calmly tell me yes or no. If they say no, they don't ask more questions. We both know I hallucinate and at this point in my life it's not a big deal. But I do like to check and see if it is a hallucination or not just for my own curiosity. They are the only person I feel comfortable doing this with because they know me best, and they don't treat it like a huge deal, which I appreciate.
You should also be aware of some of the reasons a schizophrenic person might not want to reality check with someone in this way. A lot of people will treat any hallucination someone they know has as a big dramatic thing that needs an immediate solution. People might react by getting really concerned and treating their loved one completely differently for having active hallucinations. Maybe they just raise their eyebrows and keep a close eye on you. Maybe they try to see the hallucination themselves. Maybe they suddenly act like the hallucinating person is in danger. They might even rush into trying to get the person into a hospital. The hallucinating person also may simply be embarrassed to tell people. And while all of this can come from a genuine place of concern, it can be really upsetting for the hallucinating person. It might just be their everyday symptoms, and someone being very dramatic about it makes them feel like they aren't seen as autonomous and conscious of themselves, or as someone that can't simply exist as themselves.
These are things you should say to a schizophrenic person while they are not hallucinating: if you want you can check with me and ask me if things are real. Would you like me to verify if things are real or not? If you are hallucinating while we are together, what would you like me to do? How can I tell when you need immediate help? And also just assure them that you won't judge them for hallucinating, you won't treat them differently, and you won't turn it into a big deal if it's not.
And if you ask them and they respond with "no I don't want to reality check with you, I don't want to tell you when I'm hallucinating" then that's their answer and you shouldn't try to push them into wanting anything else. It's not about you not being a good enough friend, it is just their personal boundaries. And if they respond with "yeah you can reality check with me, but only when I specifically ask for it" then you should accept that answer too. It takes an incredible amount of trust to reality check with someone, and that trust shouldn't be broken.
Once again, every schizophrenic person is different. I can't know what your friend would want, so please reach out to them directly about this. And if you can't openly have these types of conversations then you probably shouldn't be the one to reality check.

اب اداس پھرتے ہو سردیوں کی شاموں میں
اس طرح تو ہوتا ہے اس طرح کے کاموں میں
Now you roam around sad, in these cold nights,
Oh but this was bound to happen with the things you were up to.
