[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of “Essays” by Anthony Joseph Hopkins.]

Essays by Anthony Joseph Hopkins is a compilation of different Bible verses and their meaning to people. The Bible verses were cited from the books of both the Old and New Testaments of the KJV Bible. The interpretation of each Bible verse(s) was the author’s understanding of his experiences. Anthony Joseph Hopkins shared his personal experiences from the time he was an unbeliever until he joined the Christian faith.
In Essays, each verse explained holds a significant value like love, compassion, forgiveness, redemption, maturity, and sundry. But the explanation of the biblical concepts was mainly opinionated rather than factual. I state this because the biblical verses were not properly quoted or not quoted at all in some instances. A reader who does not have access to the Bible would find it difficult to understand this book and might even consider the content false. This does not speak positively about the book.
The author, in many instances, also diverted from the main topic of the writing into irrelevant information. According to the table of contents, these essays were meant to be about how every verse discussed relates to everyone. But the author often centered the discussion on only himself and his experiences.
The author discusses many personal problems in the book, like depression, suicide, and drug and physical abuse. He also shared his challenges in handling finances and relationships. I didn’t have much problem while he discussed he currently has a mental illness known as “schizoid affective disorder.” But in Chapter 17, he seems to have implied some relationships with spirits, and I thought maybe I shouldn’t fully trust his opinions. I wasn’t comfortable. Based on all these, I do not trust the credibility of this writing. The content in this book might create heresy and even imbalance.
In the book, there was a continuous repetition of the chapters’ contents. For instance, in a chapter composed of six paragraphs, six of them were repeated about four times in the same chapter. This was not done once but in several chapters. Also, the grammatical and typographical errors in the book were many. The excessive use of exclamation marks is one of the many errors in the book. Except in informal writing, the exclamation mark is to be used once, after a sentence. But in this writing, the exclamation mark was exaggerated and overused.
My rating of Essays is one out of four stars. I do not recommend this book to any specific audience. But any interested reader can find it suitable to learn something new about the Christian faith.

I highly recommend @mercury-minded as a reader!! I got the career reading and she has answered so many questions I have had about my path. Up until now, I felt extremely lost and confused but now I have a better grip on which direction I want to go. Not only does she use her cards, but she uses her intuition along with them. She’s so lovely to talk with and I felt comfortable asking any questions about the reading afterwards. Please go get yourself a reading from her!!!!!

😔) . *>*> #BOOKREVIEW <*<* Have you read any book lately that felt so realistic that it gave you those spine tingling chills? Well I can definitely say that I have! This was an impressive and very realistic book especially with everything that has happened. The novel takes place in three timelines before, during, after, and the novel is about 8 friends that are doctors working in different areas of the medical fields. They are all dealing with a fast moving virus that has turned the world upside down. Sound familiar? I truly enjoyed the friendship between these characters! As the characters deal with the fear of the unknown, loss of loved ones, and making hard decisions, but also dealing with their responsibilities as a doctor. This truly was a wonderful book! Happy reading everyone! Thank you Berkley Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read Doctors and Friends by Kimmery Martin! #medicalfictionread #netgalleybook #berkleypublishing #bookrecommendation #contemporaryfiction #goodreads #readingreview #kimmerymartinbooks #realisticread #arcbookreview (at Cleveland, Ohio) https://www.instagram.com/p/CR5zbBWLSCv/?utm_medium=tumblr

'Amygdalatropolis is a work of brilliant neurorealism in which the city is a Computer, a libidinal pornutopia voided of all bedeutung other than the residual, electronic prickling of sexual fear and auto-autistic aggression where software and synapse flicker in an endless algorithmic loop. Norburt Wiener's apocalyptic steersman leads directly here: a psychopathological cyberutopia heading straight into the lake of fire.' . Other than reading J.G. Ballard, I’ve not really looked into reading more experimental fiction. So when I saw Amygdalatropolis (still no idea on how to pronounce it), I thought why not give it a go? What’s the worst that could happen? . Here, there’s a thirty page academic introduction by Edia Connole, who talks about the philosophy of modern nihilism; which tells you all you need to know about this one. It’s a mind-blowing journey that I can’t wait to sink my teeth into. Hopefully, it lives up to the hype. See you on the other side! . . . #Amygdalatropolis #BRYeager #experimentalfiction #fiction #literature #bookish #contemporaryfiction #adultfiction #bibliophile #bizarro #bookblog #booklover #currentlyreading #fictionbooks #novel #read #readingreview #streamofconsciousness #Scismpress (at Liverpool, England, UK) https://www.instagram.com/p/CLuuCRzgJDc/?igshid=l8anzzjzu6k

This is really just going to be a rave, go read this. I was really REALLY hesitant, it took two friends recommending it for me to finally give it a shot and I’m so happy I did it because this book delivered much more than I was hoping for. I think it’s hard to impress when walking in with so many negative assumptions already. The first Leigh Bardugo book I had the ahem, pleasure, of reading was Ninth House. Now, I don’t think Ninth House was horrible but let’s just say Leigh Bardugo didn’t make it to the top of my list of author who’s works I want to devour. But! This is EXACTLY why I give authors a second and sometimes third chance. Now this didn’t win me over at the synopsis, it didn’t win me over with introductions or fantastic action scenes, no, no, no...Bardugo can write a sub plot. A sub plot so deep it eventually turns into the breaking point of the main plot and you have no idea WHICH sub plot the whole time. I felt so much anticipation while reading this but due to it’s YA audience, there’s enough semblance of hope with each character’s narrative and I loved it.
I gave it a full star rating of 5 out of 5. It was an amazing change of pace considering it holds real feelings of loss and devastation but gives you a bitter sweet feeling of rebirth as you move on. Bardugo keeps you flipping the pages, wondering where loyalties lie, who’s honest, or if any of them are. In a real band of misfits style. I really enjoyed this story for it’s fast pace and ability to creep in with darkness but maintaining a bright undertone that keeps you coming back for more.

. . . J’ai beaucoup aimé! . . #lecture #serialreader #livre #emotions #quedevoilentnosemotions #christopheandre #boriscyrulnik #michelpastoureau #alirebeihi #christillapelledouel #grandbienvousfasse #jaimelire #lisezdeslivres #bibliotheque #mareview #revuedelecture #readingreview #jelis @franceinter @editions_pocket @rachidabrakni @pelledouel https://www.instagram.com/p/CQXyXP1rbQ5/?utm_medium=tumblr

“It was like one of those dreams where you think to yourself while the dream is happening that you must remember the dream when you wake. That if you remember this dream, it will change you..." - sour hearts • I read sour heart last week and did my first full review. • • Overall Rating: 4.5/10 (Goodreads 2.5/5) My Thoughts What I liked: Beautiful writing and quotes that hit hard, some because they are relatable and some because they are so brutal in truth you can't help but feel it. I enjoyed how each story followed different people going through the same thing differently and how you get brief comments showing how they all have met or had known each other in some way they were not just connected by the fact that they had similar backgrounds. What I didn’t like: The foul language that was overused and used to be impactful and edgy when it wasn’t needed and comments that were derogatory and unnecessary. The characterization of characters not working in certain ways because their age and actions clash. Sexualisation of underage characters. (I have a longer more in-depth review on my blog if anyone is interested) • • #sourheart #books #bookphotography #bookphoto #bookworm #reading #review #readingreview #prettycovers #bookstgramfeature #bookfeature

I want to be more consistent in my writing. I have created five categories as prompts based off of broader goals I have made for myself.
Practitioner Development: exploring the growth from novice to experienced practitioner, experimenting upon reflective practice, and developing a nuanced understanding of self care.
Anti-Oppression: unpacking prevention strategies for sexual violence, addressing ageism racism hetero-sexism, and practicing allyship.
Adventure: taking chances in life and through creative writing.
Reading Review: summarizing books, novels, and articles that I read to keep my brain sharp.
Something New: dabbling in a new subject, attempting a new dish for dinner, or stumbling into different genres of music.

I think this needs more dedication I'm not willing to give to dissect fully what I am supposed to be interpreting. It's...ok I suppose. Interesting at times and few quotable lines but mostly felt like ramblings, which I guess is to be expected.
I didn’t really digest a large portion of this so I gave it only 2 out of 5 since there’s really not a lot to judge. It’s short, it’s cryptic and it’s not very engaged. The history behind this book is quite interesting but as an actual piece of writing, I couldn’t say anything more about it.
