Mischievous Creatures [Brodinsons]
Part of the Brother Collection A link to my regular Masterlist is HERE Summary: A grumpy Loki is forced to pet-sit by Thor, and an unexpected friendship blossoms. (w/c 1.8k) Warnings: Fluffy bro-stuff. Generic dog description, runs on the small side. Mild peril.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Loki grimaced, gritting his teeth. His eyes squeezed shut while a hand flew up against the assault of intrusive sunlight. “Brother,” he hissed, groaning against the pillow. “Must you continually be such a harbinger of accursed agitation upon my-”
“-Ahhhhh!”
Thor released an infuriatingly cheerful sigh. His arms were spread, holding the curtains wide. “Tis’ a joyus day in this realm, brother. Can you smell it?”
Loki frowned, squinting towards the silhouette. “The window is closed, you cretin.”
Thor chuckled. “One does not require an open window to smell joy, brother. Indeed, it is all around.” He turned, the aura of confidence in that garish smile making Loki’s blood run cold. “Some may say...in this very apartment.”
Loki’s frown deepened. It was always concerning when his brother attempted to be coy. “What?!” he barked, suddenly aware of how dry his throat was. Truly, had the monstrosity of muscle woken him before nine? “We have a guest,” Thor cheered, “and I require my brother’s aid.” He paced several strides to the bed, swinging crotch coming alarmingly close to Loki’s face. Two meaty hands rested on his hips, fingers drumming lightly against thick sweats. He swayed back and forth expectantly. This was not a sight Loki wished to see before breakfast.
He pulled the duvet over his head, muttering curses before the sheet was ripped from his grasp. He stiffened, an unexpected chill making his body clench while his brother’s laugh ripped through the air. “Come, they’re waiting,” was all he managed to say, before there was a loud yelp from the living room.
Tumblr media
“So this is a dog?”
Loki observed the creature with suspicion as it snuffled against the hardwood floor.
It had been going about its business for around twenty seconds now, paying no reverence or respect to the legendary beings in its presence. Loki’s scepticism grew. He was suddenly glad he’d worn his leathers. “Yes! And I broke up some biscuits your lady gave me on the floor for it to seek while I roused you. Charming, isn’t it?” Thor spoke quickly, and with an undeniable awe. The dog looked up expectantly, tail quivering. “I have no lady,” Loki griped, casting his gaze around the living room. A cushion from the immaculately arranged sofa had been rudely upended to the floor. Loki's eyes narrowed as Thor made his way obliviously to the breakfast bar. “Be that as it may,” the blonde said brightly, “this is the companion she speaks so often of.” Loki watched as the small creature trotted to Thor’s feet, looking up at him. Its tail was doing that thing again. “This is the rival for my affections which takes up so much of her time? I’m insulted,” he muttered. The dog’s paws tippy-tapped from side to side, impatient for whatever was in the bag Thor had begun rustling. Against his better judgement, Loki felt the side of his mouth twitch. He cleared his throat. “So. Why is it here, and what are we supposed to do with it?”
Thor scoffed, shaking his head with a smile.
Loki didn’t like this. He didn’t like this at all.
“Your lady- apologies, not your lady; has been called on an unexpected mission, shouldn’t take long – usual sort of thing." Thor glanced to his brother, glee in his eyes before bending forward with his hands on his knees. "I volunteered to ensure the safety of this treasure of the realm in her absence. Yes I did! Didn’t I?! Yes I did!” The pitch of Thor’s voice traced higher with every syllable. Loki was horrified. It descended into mumbling saccharine inanities at the excitable being shuffling below him, which let out a small a-woo. “‘Treasure of the realm’, please...” Loki scathed as he sidled over to the sofa. He had been sure to give the unfamiliar being a wide berth. Who knew what it’s intentions were. It was, after all, a stranger.
His breath hitched as it suddenly looked in his direction, the flash of a tiny pink tongue taking him by surprise.
He had the sudden urge to call to it, to feel the rest of it’s delicate triangular face in his hands. Perhaps, even, to stroke it. He thought it might feel soothing.
With unnecessary gravitas, Thor produced a beleaguered looking plush animal from a small bag resting on the counter. It was pink and mint and blue; splotches dotted on a crusted physique. Loki thought it had seen a few battles of its own.
“Oh for heavens sake, what is that?” he groused as Thor began to shake it aimlessly in the air. The dog leapt up on it’s back legs, dancing excitedly. “Tis a llama, brother,” Thor chided with authority, “obviously.” “A llama?” Loki frowned. Thor shrugged. “I know not. But that is how your lady referred to it. The little thing is rather attached to it, apparently. I thought it best not to question further.”
Both brothers nodded in silent understanding while the creature began to chirp, bouncing in comical circles. Its front paws waved in the air, the soft underbelly looking undeniably tender and scritchable. “Well... throw it then,” Loki huffed with feigned impatience. He rested his chin on his palm. He would admit, reluctantly, that he was beginning to mildly enjoy this. In a ridiculous sort of way. Thor’s eyebrows rose. “Excellent idea, brother” he said, before lobbing the llama forth at full force across the room. Loki’s eyes widened. “Brother, no-” The dog followed its lightening fast arc, legs sliding out behind it on the floor in haste. Loki braced against the arm of the sofa as the plasterboard-covered wall exploded with an almighty crack. The stuffed toy may as well have been a cannonball. A huge mist of dust immediately flooded the living room, chunks falling from the wall.
“Protect the small thing,” Thor bellowed.
Without hesitation, Loki sprung from the sofa, caging the little dog in mid-pursuit beneath his torso. Debris hit him like a wave, white mass covering dark curls falling around his face. There was a frightened whimper beneath him, something solid smacking against his thighs with a heavy thump. His heart was thundering as the carnage settled. She will never forgive me, Loki thought with horror. He peered between his forearms to the dark cave his body had created.
There was silence.
“Does it live, brother?” Thor rasped, his choking voice panicked. Loki registered pacing footsteps hovering around him in a cloud of dust, regretful muttering and coughing peppering the air. His stomach dropped.
He could barely bring himself to look. So fragile, these mortals. Their familiars even more so, surely. Suddenly, something moist and round surfaced from the darkness and poked him straight in the eye.
“Gargh!” Loki spluttered, before the breath was stolen from him. He fell forward, forehead hitting the floor while an agile tongue delved deep into one exposed nostril. An assassin, after all. Loki rolled to the side, freeing the wild creature. “It lives!” Thor whooped ecstatically. But the moment was lost on Loki.
The ball of fur and limbs and squiggling was upon him, crawling like a demon of Muspelheim across his person. The thing was liquid. It placed its front legs on his chest, perfecting a position of strength while a deceptively long tongue continued the assault of his face. “Desist!” he spluttered, searching for purchase on its lithe, fluff-laden frame. And yet, the incorrigible creature could not be swayed.
The softness of the bacon-like protrusion tickled violently, but somehow...Loki found himself unable to catch his breath from the laughter shaking his chest. It ravaged his cheeks, his mouth, his nostrils - all in whirling succession with no obvious tactical rhythm. “Brother, make it stop-” Loki gasped unconvincingly, hooking his thumbs beneath the dog’s little underarms. His laughter, Loki surmised, acted only to encourage the creature. And yet, he could not collect himself. “Alas, brother I must attempt to retrieve the valiant llama from the rubble,” Thor chuckled, biting his lip at his sibling strewn across the floor. With a resolute grunt, Loki hoisted the creature in the air above him. It squirmed, wriggling all four legs erratically. Its rotund bottom was positively vibrating with excitement. “Look, brother...it flies,” Loki grinned. The dog’s mouth was open in a smile, aimless tongue licking the air. Still in search of his skin no doubt. The god sat up, drawing the squiggling bundle to his chest. It settled, the cup of his hand under its rear and the other snug to its barrelled chest seeming to calm it. Loki smoothed its whiskers, brushing a crumb of plasterboard from the tufts of its snout. He searched its eyes, deep brown pools bubbling and sparkling with life. And with mischief, he thought. Loki smiled. Without knowing why, he placed a tentative kiss on its upturned nose. It was fresh, and cool. The richest black. And somehow, Loki knew those were good things.
The dog’s tongue flicked out once more; a soft, solitary lick to the tip of his own nose reciprocating the sentiment. He felt unfamiliar warmth blossom in his belly, drawing the precious bundle closer to his chest. “I am glad you are well, friend” he murmured. “I can only apologise for my oaf of a-” “-brother! Success!” Thor cheered, holding the resurrected llama aloft like a battle trophy. If it looked beleaguered before, now it was tragic. The plushie was completely white, stuffing protruding from its head like a fatal war wound. He paced victoriously across the floor, holding it out to the dog nestled in his brother’s arms. Loki could swear the creature rolled its eyes.
“Do not presume to return its prize possession in such a vile state, brother,” Loki hissed. He dropped his gaze to the bright eyes gazing lovingly into his own. “Never fear small thing, Uncle Loki shall amend this abomination.” he cooed. Circling a finger, Loki enjoyed the perk of the dog's ears as the llama glowed green. In moments, its garish pastel glory was restored. “The crusted biological coating is gone too, brother…” Thor mumbled sceptically, inspecting it. “Was that important?” Loki jiggled the squishy package in his arms. Its front paws bounced. “Methinks that was enthusiasm from historical play; perhaps we should begin to restore it,” he chuckled, as the dog began to squirm with excitement once again. Loki tickled its belly. Thor frowned. “Do not get too attached, brother” he warned, “remember that this one is claimed. And by whom.” Loki rolled his eyes. “I am aware of that, brother” he snarked, before bending to carefully lower all four paws to the ground. He straightened. “But clearly the creature and I have an affinity. It cannot be denied.” Thor folded his arms, and Loki did the same. They watched in silence as the fluffy tornado fell upon the llama, beginning to prance in a parading circle around them. It dotted easily between the chunks of plasterboard, the plushie snug within tiny jaws.
Thor cleared his throat. “It is my belief” he began knowledgeably, “that the creatures have developed ways to trick mortals in favouring them. They are provided shelter, comfort, snacks and the like in return for being…” he gestured open handed to the floor, “thus.” Two sets of eyes assessed the inexplicable sight before them, rolling on its back with four wriggling paws flapping at strange angles. “Is that so…” Loki mused, smile widening as he lowered to his haunches. The dog flipped to stand, nails scratching against the floor in a race to meet him. That little bottom shifted side to side, overcome with indescribable joy at their friend’s return to the lower level. The llama bonked against Loki's knee, a helicopter-esque tail making his heart soar.
He gripped the llama’s sides, tugging gently before pulling it flush against his chest. The cheeky growl in the dog’s throat made him chuckle as he pressed a soft kiss to its forehead. “How mischievous,” he whispered, smiling conspiratorially against the tousled fur.

Despite Everything (Loki X Twin!Brother!Reader) *PLATONIC
Characters: Loki X Twin!Brother!Reader
Universe: Marvel, Avengers
Warnings: Spoilers to Thor & beginning of Avengers, mention of death, and mourning.
Request:💚💚Hey! I dont ask for requests very often so Im sorry if this is bad. But I was wondering if you could do a Loki request? Like where the reader is Loki's twin brother and him and Loki are super close (reader and Thor are close too but not like reader and Loki close), but when Loki fell into the void (in the first Thor movie) reader got real depressed and went out to find him only for Thor to find reader to tell him Loki is planning on attacking New York.Reader goes with Thor to stop Loki and meets all the Avengers. And instead of Loki him destroying New York he snaps out of Thanos's mind control and feels super remorseful. Maybe even incoorperate that they're Frost Giants somehow, too?
Tumblr media
Your earliest memory was that of being with your twin brother. You were extremely young at the time, and being mischievous, had snuck away from your mother to explore, and gotten lost. Loki was more confident than you, or at least pretended to be, so he had took up holding your hand and pulling you through the vast hallways for a sign of anyone, while you got yourself worked up and cried quietly, though the entire time, he kept reassuring you. “Don’t worry Y/N! There’s people everywhere, we’ll find someone soon, or they’ll find us!” He was right in the end, hearing Odin’s booming voice calling for you, and you followed it till you were saw him, sprinting and running to him and hugging his legs, even as he scorned you for scaring your mother senseless. Thor teased you both relentlessly about the incident for over 100 years.
That dynamic has really not changed, even hundreds of years later. Loki came up with something mischievous, and with very little convincing you would join him on these shenanigans, things happened, and you would talk about it years later, sometime Thor laughing at it, sometimes you and Loki were the ones laughing.
It had been a while since that. A long while.
Everything fell apart when Thor, Loki, and some of your friends went off to Jotunheim without you, since you had been helping your mother with something, starting a second war with the Frost Giants and your elder brother banished to Earth. Due to all that, it took you a while to notice that Loki’s behaviour was odd, even with all the tension, and he didn’t tell you what was wrong when you asked the first time, and before you could ask again, your father had fell into Odin sleep, and after a short conversation with you and Loki and your adamance since he was the more confident out of your two, he became Acting King, with you and your mother helping him at the side.
It wasn’t long after that, that Loki came to you late one night before bed, and admitted what happened at Jotunheim. About his skin turning blue, about confronting your father before his sleep, where he admitted that you and him weren’t his actual children- you were frost giants, abandoned by your own kind, on the dirty, freezing floor, left to die, seperated by a few feet just so you two couldn’t warm each other or find any comfort in each other. Odin had found you both, finding Loki first, before he heard your cries as well, that being how he decided which of you was older. He took you back to Asguard, and raised you with your mother.
It was an incredibly hard pill to swallow, and while you were still coming to terms with it all, the implications, how it affects the rest of your life, Loki was already feeling betrayal, abandoned and backstabbed by those around him and you, the fact that no one had told you two, and there was no plan to do so, and Loki had enough rage for you both.
Unfortunately for you, by the time you understood how far Loki was planning and willing to go, it was already too late. Thor was able to get back to Asgard, a battle broke out, the Bifrost destroyed, and Loki… Loki fell.
The days afterwards were hectic. You felt the eyes on you, expecting you to follow in your brother’s steps, to lash out, to cause havoc. Expecting you to be a monster. Your felt their looks burning into your back, but you never turned to look them in the eye, or address it. You were too devastated to care.
Thor addressed it though.
The first time he confronted a group glaring and whispering as you simply tried to monuever from your room to see your mother was a shock for everyone, including you. Thor shamed them for it, pointing out you were in mourning, and so was he, over your brother, even if he did make mistakes. Thor’s voice easily carries in the hallways, so everyone in the radius heard, and the word spread quickly that he wasn’t standing for you to be disrespected. After the dressing down he gave, he took your shoulder and led you to where you needed to go.
A few days later, no one dared stare, or whisper, especially with Thor always nearby like a guard dog. After weeks, Thor’s presence wasn’t needed to ensure you were left be, but he still remained close, assuring you that despite everything, you are still his brother. Loki is still his brother, and you both are family to him. He got you to open up to him about what Loki shared with you, what you had felt after he had told you, and how you think Loki was feeling, helping you both grapple with why what happened. Thor had a period of blaming himself- that if he hadn’t had been so reckless and pushed Loki to come with him to Jotunheim, or even go at all, none of this would have happened. You tried to convince him that he couldn’t have known, and that he had grown as a person himself since then, thanks to his previous actions. He told you after a few days he had forgiven himself… but you knew Thor. You knew that was a lie, and that Thor was too stubborn to try and let you convince him otherwise on the subject. It was probably why he was really upping the protective older brother act. Guilt.
After months, you found a new norm. You were still a member of the family, assured by your brother, mother and father. Your brother had shown his love and loyalty to you with his actions since the early days. Your mother showed it through her being there for you, reminding you she loved you and calling you her son, and your father showed it by never saying a word about Thor’s adamance and scoldings of people in the kingdom, and even ignoring and interrupting people who tried to bring it up to him, making it clear in his own way that he agreed in Thor’s actions. Fandall, Volstagg, Sif and Hogun, quickly warmed back up to you, practically forcing you to partake in the group’s antics. You still deeply missed Loki, wishing he was here, that things were different, feeling like a part of you was missing, but your friends and family made sure you barely had a moment to be caught up in those feelings. You were finally starting to heal, and learning to cope.
That was, until Thor came to see you one day. The Bifrost had been rebuilt, and he had been sent by Odin to check on things. You had expected him to be gone for a few days, so seeing him back so early was alarming. His face was solemn as well, and he quickly asked for you two to speak alone, which you agreed. As soon as you were, he didn’t hesitate to tell you what was wrong.
“Loki’s alive.” The words were a slap in the face for you. You remained staring at your older brother in disbelief, waiting for him to tell you this was a sick joke, but then you remembered who you were speaking to. Thor wouldn’t do that.
“That’s… not possible. Loki can’t be alive-how? You saw him die-”
“I saw him fall.” He corrected you. “I presumed that meant death for him- we all did. But I was wrong. He’s found his way to Midgard, and he’s got his hand on the Tesseract and he’s causing havoc there. He’s killed over a hundred people so far, and I’m now working with a group to try and stop him, and hopefully bring him home alive.” He explained to you.
“Then why are you here?” You asked him with urgency. “What do you need from here? I’ll get it for you- even if father will be angry about it.”
“I need you.” Thor told you, making you stop. “I can’t get through to him. He’s still angry about what happened… but he opened up to you. He’ll listen to you. You’re his twin, his brother by blood.” Thor explained to you. “I need you to come with me to Midgard, and try and talk him down.” He begged. For you, there was no question. No other option.
As soon as you arrived on Midgard, there was a group waiting for you, all of them eyeing you in a way that felt eerily familiar. They were looking at you like how your people used to look at you after… “This is my brother, and Loki’s twin, Y/N. He came to help, so I expect you to be nothing but kind to him, understood?” Thor ordered, making it clear he also noted their looks.
“Sorry if we’re all a bit tense around his family, especially his actual biological family.” One of them commented- a man with a goatee.
“Do you know where he is?” You asked, choosing to ignore the comment.
“Yeah, we managed to lock him in a cell for now.” Another man spoke up, that one in a purple shirt, seeming a little more shy.
“Okay. Take me to him.” You requested.
The way to the Helicarrier had been mostly awkward silence, sometimes interupted by some of the group trying to learn more about you- if you and Loki were actual twins are were just born around the same time and passed off as twins, if you were a Frost Giant as well, where you had been when Loki ‘turned evil’, why you hadn’t turned out the same, though by that point, Thor had finished that conversation immediately with a simple “Enough”, repeating it when someone tried to continue it. When you did arrive on board, you were introduced to another small group of people, Fury, Coulson, Hill- seemingly the ones running everything and who brought this team and Thor together. They asked their own questions- though in a more respectful and reserved tone, their glances to your brother over your shoulder telling you they were being careful not to set him off. After explaining what they hoped for from you- calm him down, get him to back down from his plan, and then have him go with you and Thor back to Asgard with no further incidents where he’d serve a small sentence, but after that, free to live his life- under continual supervision by your family to ensure something like this never happened again. If you couldn’t do that, then it was still up for debate on how he’d be handled. As you saw it, Fury was clearly offering you a way to get your brother back with minimal issues, and you weren’t going to risk it.
“One of us at least is going in there with you- as a neutral party.” Stark spoke up.
“I’ll do it.” Thor immediately spoke up.
“Shouldn’t it be a neutral party? Not a family reunion?” Barton commented.
“Neither’s a good idea.” You spoke up.
“You’re not going in there alone with him, we don’t know you well enough.” Steve told you.
“But I know him. I’ll watch over it all.” Thor argued.
“No! Listen to me!” You snapped. “I know Loki, better than anyone. He keeps his walls entirely up around people. He only told me about our true heritage when he knew for sure we were alone. If anyone else is in that room, he won’t say anything. He won’t cooperate. If anything, it’ll work him up. He’ll probably presume you’ve brought me here against my will and are using me as a pawn to get him to cooperate, which will make him angier. If Thor’s in there, he’ll presume I’m taking sides and betraying him. Let me go in alone, and just… talk to him.” You begged.
“Alright. Fair enough. But we’ll be monitoring from another room nearby, just in case anything happens.” Fury decided, seeming to take almost everyone by surprise, some opening their mouths to protest, before he shot them a look. “Hill, escort him down to the cell.”
Stepping into the room alone was anxiety inducing. As soon as you stepped in, it felt like the room was colder, the hairs on your arms standing up, and your heart began tor race. You glanced back as the door shut behind you, before you turned to look at the large spherical room you stood in, the cell made of glass on all sides in the middle, and inside, your twin brother, staring back at you in shock. “Loki!” You couldn’t help the sigh of relief as you rushed closer to the glass, while he remained still in the centre, staring at you.
“Y/N? How are you- what are you doing here?” He questioned in alarm.
“I came here for you.” You told him. “Thor told me you were alive, and I came immediately. Loki I’ve missed you so much- Thor and Mother as well.” He scoffed at that.
“He missed me? Thor is currently siding with the ones who locked me in here!” He responded, pointing to the door aggressively.
“He’s also advocating for you. He’s also advocated for me.” You told him with urgence.
“Advocating? How has he stood for us?” He questioned.
“He stood up for me after you left!” You snapped, making his expression soften. “Everyone looked at me different after you left. They spoke about me with me right in front of them. The looks they gave me made me want to curl up and die… But Thor didn’t turn his back on me. He confronted those who did, he was right by my side, and he let me grieve in peace… Loki, he stepped up for me, because he’s our brother, and he’s advocating for you now, because he’s our brother. For him, nothing has changed. We’re family, no matter who’s blood we come from.” You explained.
“Is that the whole truth?” He questioned you, his voice a lot calmer, though also sadder, and you nodded.
“Despite everything, you will always have me and Thor, and mother and father. Despite everything, we still have a family, and we still have a home. Please, Loki… come home with me.”
Loki frowned, looking down in shame. “It’s not that easy… The tesseract… It was given to me on an exception, an exception to follow his plan, and if I don’t follow it… he’ll reign hell on me, you, Thor… and everyone else. He has an army, we don’t stand a chance.” He expressed to you.
“Okay… okay. Well, tell me everything you can about this being, and we’ll figure it out, okay? We’ll tell father, and he’ll help, and I’m sure if we give them time to heal and show you’re a changed man and regretful about what happened, so will the Avengers, especially if this being intends to harm their home.” You pointed out, speaking loudly to ensure they heard you, remembering what Fury had stated.
“Y/N… Why are you willing to take on my burden? I put myself in this situation.” Loki questioned.
“If I recall currently, it’s always been your mischievous ideas getting both you in trouble, with me directly by your side. Why would this be any different? And If I remember correctly, Thor was always the one to see the fun in it all, make father be softer on us, and even take the fall for it. When this is all done, we’ll look back and laugh, but for now, let us help you with this nonsense.” You begged. Loki stared at you, pure surprise in his eyes. He wasn’t expecting to see his twin brother here today, he wasn’t expecting to hear that Thor had remained loyal to you back home and caring for you despite his actions, and he wasn’t expecting you to literally beg him to come home- a home you claimed was waiting for him. But the most shocking, was his own change. He never expected himself to change his mind, and switch sides so suddenly.
“Alright… I’ll tell you everything. He’s called Thanos…”
Hope you like it! If you have any questions, please send them in!

Moving Day
Pairing: Loki x female reader (established relationship)
Warnings: kind of smutty (haha as close as I've gotten at least so don't get mad at me), fluff, brothers being brothers, forced brotherly bonding, annoying friends, nothing bad really... should be a fun one I hope (except for the ending possibly lol... there had to be angst somewhere)
Summary: You and Loki have been together for over a year and you are excited to be moving from your small, SHIELD agent quarters in the Tower to his much larger apartment on the Avenger's floor. Loki is looking forward to spending the day alone with you but you've decided to use the downtime between missions as an opportunity to force him and Thor to spend some 'quality time' together. After a few unexpected helpers drop by, you are finally able to get started moving your things into your new place while the two Asgardians bond (hopefully).
A/N: I was reading through some of my longer fic, Shadows of the Past, and I thought this chapter would be a fun little oneshot. I reworked it so you don't need to know anything else about the story to read it (and there is an additional character who isn't in the other version). If you do like it though... it is chapter 42 and the link to the rest of the fic is here Shadows of the Past (work in progress)

(Y/N POV)
Loki walks into your bedroom and places a few empty boxes on the ground by the door but you don't notice him. You're facing the bed when he quietly comes up behind you, putting his arms around your waist as he gently rests his chest against your back. His touch breaks into your wandering thoughts and you place your hands over his.
"So... what are you thinking about, darling?" he asks, kissing the side of your neck softly and you relax into him.
You think for a moment before you answer, knowing Loki might worry if you tell him the truth but you've never been able to lie to him. You can't help but let a soft moan escape you when you realize he isn't waiting for an answer, he came into your room with a very different agenda in mind. His lips continue to travel up and down your neck slowly, making sure he doesn't miss a single inch of skin while one of his hands begins to slide up from your waist. You forget he had even asked you a question as you lean back against his chest and close your eyes.
His lips move to the base of your neck and you abruptly turn to face him just as his hand stats to massage your breast over your t-shirt. Wrapping your arms around his neck loosely, his hands settle on your lower back, keeping you close to him.
"You can't ask me a question and then do things like that," you giggle as you look up at him.
"Why not?" he asks with an innocent expression and when you roll your eyes he presses his lips to yours. You give into his kiss as his tongue moves against yours. You feel him smile when you run your fingers up and down his back. He bites your bottom lip lightly before releasing your lips and you look up at him.
"See... now I have no idea what you asked me," you tell him honestly with a smile.
"What were you thinking about?" he asks again.
"Oh," you say and he loosens his hold of you slightly. "Nothing, it's stupid," you tell him with a shrug but you can tell by the look he gives you that he isn't going to accept that answer.
"I just..." you try to find the right words. "I mean, this is the first place I've ever had that was just mine. I know I don't own it and it's just the standard SHIELD housing all the other agents get too but... it's still my first place." You look around the room briefly then back up at Loki, his smile missing from his lips.
"Are you rethinking moving in with me?" he asks quietly.
"No! No, of course not," you tell him, touching his check softly and he nods. Even after two years you could tell he worried you would betray him or leave him like he thought everyone else in his life has done. "You know I couldn't be more excited to live with you right?" you ask and he nods again but this time his smile returns. "Is just that this is a big change for me. I moved in here right after I graduated from college so I guess I'm going to miss it a bit... I have so many great memories here, with my friends and with you," you tell him, reaching up to kiss his cheek.
"Speaking on fond memories here," he starts, "Do you know what my favorite memory in this apartment is?" he asks you and shake your head, unsure of whether his answer will be about one of the numerous times the two of you made love in the various rooms or if it will be genuinely sweet. "When you were trying to teach me how to make pasta and you 'accidentally' admitted you had a crush on me."
You laugh and playfully hit him in the chest, "You tricked me into telling you that."
He pretends to be offended and says, "I didn't trick you. I simply asked a serious of very well thought out questions. How was I to know it would actually work?"
"Mmhmm," you hum in response, crossing your arms but still letting him hold you loosely. "You know... you could have at least told me you liked me too. Did you really need to wait almost a week to ask me out afterwards? I nearly died of embarrassment."
He smiles but doesn't answer, you sigh mildly annoyed at the fact that he will probably never explain to you what took him so long. Instead, he closes the small space that had slowly grown between the two of you and you uncross your arms as he leans down to kiss you. You kiss him back, running your fingers through his long curls. His fingers grip your hips tightly and he picks you up suddenly causing you to gasp in surprise but he keeps his lips sealed to yours, kissing you deeply. You wrap your legs around him, one arm still around his neck while you pull his hair with your other hand and he bites your lip in response. Loki moves to the foot of the bed and drops you carefully onto your back. He looks down at you with a smile you know means you're not leaving this bed any time soon. Your legs dangle off the edge and you begin to move towards the pillows.
“Where do you think you're going?” he chuckles. He grabs you by your ankles and easily pulls you back to him, you giggle with nervous excitement. Loki kneels on the edge of the bed then he positions himself on top of you. His lips quickly find yours again as you feel his body press you into the soft mattress. Your fingers coil through his hair as his kisses trail down your jaw, neck and collar bones. Your back arches to meet his lips as he kisses every inch of skin on your check that is exposed by the deep v neck of your t- shirt. One of his hands is next to your head, gripping the sheet and supporting him, while the other finds the hem of your t-shirt. He slowly slides his hand up your stomach, his fingers causing goosebumps to form as they move under your shirt.
You hear three sharp knocks at the front door to your apartment and your grip on the back of Loki's shirt tightens. "Loki?" you try to get his attention but he presses his hips down against yours and continues to kiss your neck as if he hasn't heard the person waiting at your door. You bite your lip to quiet a moan as Loki slides your shirt higher, his fingers moving steadily upwards.
"Ignore it, love," he whispers and you can't help but nod, his lips barely touching your ear. You forget about your visitor when Loki's lips meet yours again, one of your hands moves down his back to his ass and he chuckles against your mouth when you squeeze his cheek.
Two more loud knocks break your focus from Loki. His lips leave your skin as he sits up, his attention shifting to the one responsible for interrupting his time with you. "Who in the nine realms could that possibly be?" he asks, not expecting you to answer. You look away, avoiding any eye contact with the annoyed God above you. He looks down at you, surprised to see you aren't as upset about being disturbed as he is. "Y/N?" he asks, slowly tilting your face so you are looking directly up at him and you smile nervously.
"I... um... I invited your brother over," you mumble from underneath his large frame.
He looks at you in shock and at the sound of two more knocks, he groans loudly. He drops his head down on the bed next to yours and you stifle a laugh at how cute he looks when he is annoyed.
"Come on," you rub his back lightly and he lifts his head just enough to look at you. "It could be fun," you say hopefully.
He sighs in response, clearly not believing you and if you were being honest, you weren't sure if you believed that either. This had the potential to be a great experience for both of them or a complete and utter disaster.
Loki moves so he is sitting on the edge of the bed, squeezing the bridge of his nose with his eyes closed tight. You climb off the bed, fixing your hair and adjusting your t-shirt as you stand in front of Loki. He opens his eyes and you lean down to kiss him lightly, a smile begin to creep across his lips and you quickly take a step back. He reaches out, catching you easily around the waist and pulls you back to him.
"Tell him to leave," Loki urges with a smirk as he looks up, one hand remains around your waist while the other strokes your cheek.
He runs his fingers under your chin and brings your lips to his and you feel yourself giving into him once again. With his arm still holding your waist, he lifts you onto his lap and then he tries to pull you with him back onto the bed. You break the kiss and put your hands on his shoulders to separate yourself from him. You smile while shaking your head at his attempt to continue where he left off.
You wanted nothing more in this moment then to tell Thor to go away and let Loki take you on your bed one more time before you move but you had a plan and you needed to stick to it. He would just have to be patient and wait until the move was finished and his brother leaves to continue. A part of you was very excited about the idea that Loki would more be desperate for you all day. That hadn't originally been a part of your plan but it wasn't something you were going to complain about. You knew from past experiences, the more frustrated you made Loki during the day, the longer your night was going to be when he was finally able to have you. You smile to yourself as you think it was a good thing you had taken off from work tomorrow. It was still early but based on the way the day was progressing, you were going to need your rest after tonight.
He groans in defeat, letting go of you as he lays on the bed with his hands over his face. "Don't be so dramatic Mischief," you laugh, taking one of his hands and pulling him to a seated position. "It wouldn't kill you to be nice to your brother for a few hours."
"No, but I might very well kill him," he suggests and you sigh as you leave your bedroom, checking over your shoulder to make sure he is following you. You walk quickly through the living room as Thor knocks again. You had to give it to him, the God of Thunder was persistent.
“Hey Thor, sorry about that. We didn't hear you knocking. Come on in,” you say with a welcoming smile.
"Ah, I will have to remember to knock louder next time,” he replies.
"Wonderful," Loki says sarcastically as he leans on the wall next to the couch, his arms crossed tightly.
You ignore Loki's mood and so does his older brother. "Thanks for coming," you tell him.
"Of course. Always glad to help," he replies happily as he gives you a hug, lifting you a few inches off the ground.
“Careful not to crush her, brother” Loki says protectively from behind you and Thor sets you down. Before you can say anything to either of them, there is another series of loud knocks and you quickly make eye contact with Loki. He looks more annoyed than he did when Thor entered, if possible and you shrug to let him know you don't know who it is either.
"Uh, hi Steve," you say when you open the door again.
Steve gives you a quick hug and you take a step back so he can come into your apartment. “Thor told me you were moving today and we figured you could use the extra hands,” he says cheerfully, Thor pats him on the back before taking a seat on your couch.
"Um, yea this is great. Thanks," you force a smile as you start to close the door. You hear footsteps down the hall and poke your head out to see Sam and Bucky slowly coming towards your apartment. You open the door wide and take a step out to meet them, "What are you guys doing here?"
"There are more of them?" Loki asks in no one in particular as he throws his hands up.
Sam walks past you into your room with a small almost apologetic wave while Bucky explains, “Steve made us come."
Steve rolls his eyes at Bucky and you laugh a little at his honesty. "Is anyone else coming?" you ask Steve nervously as you close the door.
"There better not be," Loki says sternly.
"Nope, just us," Steve answers, either unaware of how much he is annoying Loki with his presence or not caring.
You look around your living room at Thor who has made himself at home on your couch with his feet on your coffee table, Loki leaning against the wall near his brother, grinding his teeth so harshly you can almost hear it and your three friends standing by your door. “Wow... so I have two Gods," you point at the brothers making Thor smile and Loki roll his eyes again, "Two super soldiers," you count Bucky and Steve who gives you a thumbs up, "And-"
"And Sam," Bucky finishes for you with a smile, obviously pleased with himself.
"Right... and Sam," you laugh as Sam hits Bucky in the left arm, regretting it instantly. "My point is, I'm just moving from one floor to another and I've got a ton of help," you tell them.
“Surely one God is more than enough,” Loki insists with a wide smile as he walks over to you, his arms stretched out dramatically.
You walk into his waiting arms and kiss his cheek, whispering to him, “It's going to be fun, I promise."
“What would be fun is finishing what we started before my idiot brother and the others showed up,” he replies, his hand quickly moves to cup your backside and he squeezes it causing you to gasp then playfully hit his hand away.
“We can do that tonight, in our place,” you tell him and he sighs knowing once you have set your mind to something, there is little he can do to change it.
The room is quiet for a moment then Steve asks “So... what do you need us to do?” awkwardly as he claps his hands together.
“Leave,” Loki answers immediately, waving vaguely towards the door and you put your hand over his mouth.
"Sounds good to us," Bucky agrees with a shrug and Sam opens the door to the hallway but Thor doesn't move from his seat on the couch.
“He’s just kidding,” you tell them as Loki licks your hand causing you to pull it away quickly, he winks in response and you roll your eyes but can't help letting out a slight laugh. It wasn't the first time he licked you but he didn't usually do it around the team and it was typically in a less joking manner.
"Get back here," Steve closes the door, keeping Sam and Bucky from leaving. "You guys said you were happy to help Y/N out today," he reminds them.
"That's not even close to what we said," Sam replies as he shakes his head.
"We said we were happy to not have to go on a ten mile run with you this morning," Bucky corrects Steve.
“There isn’t a lot to move honestly, I think this should be pretty quick,” you promise everyone with a forced smile and no one replies.
Thor breaks the silence by getting up and hugging you again, he says, "Well I'll help you with whatever you need. I'm just so happy for the two of you. Moving in together is a big step in any relationship.” He sets you down and turns his attention towards Loki who takes a step backwards from his brother. For a second, you think Thor might actually catch him in a hug but the God of Mischief is just quick enough, narrowly avoiding his outstretched arms at the last second.
You laugh as you watch them together. They might not be related by blood but there is no doubt in your mind that they are brothers.
"I don't see why you need to make such a fuss," Loki tells Thor. "Y/N has spent almost every night at my place since we started dating. Most of her clothes and a fair amount of her belongings are already there."
"That's the whole point," you explain and Loki looks at you. "It was your place, but now it'll be our place."
"I understand that, darling, but I'm still not giving anyone a hug over it," Loki mumbles as he keeps his distance from Thor.
"I always knew he was the sentimental type," Sam says sarcastically to Bucky but when Loki glares at him he steps slightly behind Steve.
"Oh, don't look at him like that," you tell Loki and he looks down, putting his hands in his pockets. Sam steps out from behind Steve. "You and I both know you're excited about me moving in with you," you say with your hands on your hips.
"Of course I am excited," he agrees, "But I would be more excited if this whole experience hadn't turned into a team building exercise."
You put your arms around his neck and look up at him, "Look at it this way, the more help we have the faster I can move and the sooner we will be alone." You wink at the word 'alone' and he smiles.
"Very well," he tells you and you pull back, smiling up at him. You kiss his cheek quickly and take his hand as you decide what everyone should help with.
"Ok..." you think. "I guess Steve and Bucky, you guys can pack up the kitchen. Sam, you can help me out here in the living room," they all nod but Loki raises an eyebrow as he waits for you to tell him what you need him to do. "Loki, you and Thor can finish up in the bedroom. Most of my clothes are upstairs already but there are still some things in the back of the closet that need to be boxed up." Thor slaps Loki on the back cheerfully and everyone splits up to their assigned spaces.
Tumblr media
You glance uncomfortably at the closed door to your bedroom while you place the picture frames Sam hands you into a box. At first the door had been left open but about fifteen minutes into packing, Thor closed it. He didn't slam it, he didn't shut it hard, he just calmly closed it without a word to anyone. For the first few minutes after it was closed, you found yourself waiting anxiously for Loki to open the door and storm out of the room or for the screaming to start but nothing happened. You weren't sure if the quiet made you more or less worried but you hoped that meant they were finally talking, you didn't even care what they were talking about just as long as it didn't lead to a fight.
You make sure to flash a bright smile when Bucky and Steve walk into the living room with four boxes from the kitchen. You were thankful for the extra help of course but your plan was to use today as a means of literally forcing the two brothers together, even if it killed one of them. You hated that the only time they spent together outside of missions was to train a few hours a week. They only spoke during training sessions to criticize each other or to gloat. As soon as the session was over, they went their separate ways because if they were together any longer, they would begin fighting.
Despite what Loki may think, you know Thor still cares for his younger brother the same way he always had, before they found out Laufey was his real father, before he fell from the Bifrost, before Thanos manipulated him into attacking New York. Thor had told you how he felt about Loki one horribly long night several months ago.
Loki had been badly injured during a failed mission and remained unconscious even after he had been brought back to the Tower. Thor waited with you by Loki’s bedside in the infirmary until he finally woke up the next morning. You held Loki's hand waiting for him to open his eyes while Thor told you stories about how close they had been as children. He smiled broadly as he recounted the numerous pranks he had been the victim of and the dozens of spells that had been practiced on him.
The next day, you thanked Thor for sitting with you but you told him it made you sad to think that they had grown so far apart in such a few years. A part of you worried that Loki would keep pushing Thor further and further away until his older brother finally gave up and left.
Thor smiled at you and told you never needed to worry about that happening. He put his hand on your shoulder and said, "I will always be here for Loki, whether he wants me to be or not. He will always be my brother."
Tumblr media
"Do you think this is a good idea?" Sam asks as he takes down the last picture that was hanging over your couch. You stare blankly at him, having been too lost in your thoughts to hear his question the first time.
He asks again and this time you answer. "I'm honestly not sure but I hope so," you reply nervously.
Steve and Bucky place the boxes full of pots, pans and cooking utensils by your front door. Loki had a much larger kitchen then you did but the only time he used it was to make himself tea.
"I think it's a great idea, Y/N," Steve says optimistically. "What could possibly go wrong?"
Bucky sighs loudly, "They could end up trying to kill each other and destroy half the Tower in the process."
"My money is definitely on Loki," Sam says without looking away from the box he is sealing up but he turns when he feels everyone looking at him. "What? Oh come on, Loki is scary as hell."
Bucky shrugs, neither agreeing or disagreeing with him. Steve nods and says, "You make an interesting point and he does seem to be in a bit of a mood today."
"Yeah, because he's usually so excited to see all of us," Bucky says as he sits on the couch. Steve takes a seat next to him and Sam places the box he is done with on top of the pile they had started.
"Hmm..." Steve thinks. "I think I would have to go with Thor, in a fight between them I mean. Especially if he had Mjolnir." He mimics swinging the hammer and Sam laughs as you sit on the floor by the box you are filling with books. You try to ignore them as you feel a headache beginning to form.
"Yea, hopefully we'll have enough time to duck if Thor calls for it otherwise it'll take us out when it comes flying through here," Bucky adds.
"The good news is, it doesn't sound like they are fighting... Unless Loki just used his magic to turn Thor into a house plant or something," Sam jokes.
"Do you think he could actually do that?" Steve wonders and Bucky puts his hand over his face.
"Ok, you guys know what?" you interrupt them and they all look over at you. "This isn't actually helping," you tell them, rubbing your eyes as your headache thumps.
"Sorry about that Y/N," Steve says sheepishly and the others nod.
"We'll bring these upstairs for you," Sam says.
The three of them pick up all the boxes stacked by the door and leave, closing the door quietly behind them. You get up from where you are sitting next to your bookshelf and walk slowly over to your bedroom door. Leaning against it carefully, you try to hear what is going on inside. The door swings open just as your ear touches the wood and you stand up straight, trying to act like you weren't trying to eavesdrop. You giggle nervously as Thor looks down at you with a smile.
"He's all yours," he says, walking past you with two large boxes and a duffel bag.
You close the door slightly at you go inside and see Loki closing the drawers on your now empty dresser. "Hi Mischief," you say, testing his mood as you walk over to him.
He turns and smiles at you, "Hello love."
"So... it looks like you didn't turn your brother into a houseplant," you say, pointing over your shoulder towards where your had gone.
"I would never do that," he responds seriously then with a smirk he adds, "I did turn him into a frog a few times when we were children though."
"You did what!?" you ask in disbelief and he laughs, taking a seat on your bed which has been stripped down to just the mattress.
"Don't worry, the effects never lasted very long," he explains and you sit next to him.
He puts his arm around your waist and pulls you close to him, you rest your head on his shoulder. You sit quietly for a moment, he lets go of your waist and slowly runs his fingers up and down your back, you can feel your headache slipping away as you relax. "So does this mean you aren't mad at me for leaving you alone with Thor?" you ask.
He shakes his head then says, "I'm not." You don't say anything in the hopes that he will tell you what happened and after a minute or two he takes a deep breath. "Thor told me that you are worried the distance growing between us."
You nod and sit up so you can look at him, taking his hand. He admits, "I was worried too. We used to talk about anything but ever since Laufey and Thanos, it's been hard if not impossible at times."
"I thought..." he pauses for a second, "I assumed he blamed me for having to leave Asgard. I had been under the impression that he was being forced to stay here in order to watch over me but he said he chose to stay so I wouldn't be alone."
He shakes his head and looks down at the floor, you squeeze his hand and he looks back at you. "I'm so glad you two talked and were honest with each other," to tell him with a smile.
"We still have more to talk about but I feel optimistic for the first time in a years," he says, "I don't know how to thank you for this. I love you, Y/N."
"I love you too," you tell him then you lean forward and kiss him. He kisses you back, his hand resting lightly on your cheek and his other hand moves to your waist. You giggle against his lips as he pulls you effortlessly onto his lap. You run your fingers through his hair and continue to kiss him as he lays back on the bed, pulling you with him.
You sit up quickly at the sound of two sharp knocks on your partial closed bedroom door. You look over your shoulder and see Thor standing in the doorway looking anywhere but at you. "Um..." he says, "We finished bringing everything upstairs."
"Thanks Thor," you answer. "We'll be right up."
He closes the door and you laugh as you try to get up but Loki keeps his arms around you. You kiss his nose and he groans, "To be continued?" You smile and nod as you get up.
Tumblr media
"Thanks for all your help guys!" you say to everyone as you place the last empty box in the pile by the door. You still can't believe how quickly packing and unpacking went, especially when Loki decided to use his magic to try and hurry the process along. He barely had to flick his wrist and all of the kitchenware was neatly organized in the cabinets.
You ask them, "Is anyone hungry? I can order some food if you want."
Loki shakes his head and says, "Haven't they been here long enough, love?"
You roll your eyes but smile again as Bucky answers, "I could always go for pizza."
"Same," Sam agrees, raising his hand unnecessarily.
"I would never turn down food," Thor says.
"Oh, pizza sounds good," Steve smiles, throwing himself into Loki's reading chair in the corner. Thor and Bucky make themselves comfortable on the couch and Sam drags over a chair from the dining room to the coffee table.
Loki comes behind you and puts his arms around you, holding you tight to his chest. "You know if you feed them, they will never leave," he whispers as he kisses just below your ear. You laugh and you look up, giving him your most charming smile. "Very well," he gives in, "Pizza it is."
"Coming right up," you say, kissing Loki's cheek as you free yourself from his long arms.
You pick up your phone from the coffee table and look up the number for your favorite place. You ask your friends what toppings they want and while they are discussing it Steve’s phone goes off. At the same time Sam and Bucky's phones goes off as well as Thor and Loki's. All five of them take out their phones and read the message, the smiles gone from their faces.
“This can’t be good,” you put your phone down and walk over to Loki.
Thor shakes his head, then he stands up from his seat on the couch, “It's not. I'm sorry Y/N, we have to go.”
"Please be safe," you tell them, giving each of your friends a hug as they leave. "I love you," you whisper to Loki as he hugs you tightly.
He kisses you then runs his fingers down your cheek lightly. "I love you too. I will be back soon," he promises you and you force a smile as he closes the door, leaving you standing alone in your shared apartment.

My Beautiful Asgardian Girlfriend | Loki x Fem! Reader
Tumblr media
Note: Loki is canonically Gender fluid both in the MCU and In Norse Mythology, and we don't really get to see it in the MCU universe, so here is some Genderfluid Loki content. He's also canonically Bisexual as well, so yay! Also, the reader, even when Loki is in his male form, is still taller than him.
Pairing: Loki x Female! Reader (The Reader is hyperactive and very social whilst Loki is very anti-social. The Reader is also Midgardian and the Younger sister of Tony.)
Characters: Tony, Pepper, Loki, Thor, & Reader
Warning: None
Just some fluffy wholesome moments with our very dramatic goddess 😍
Loki nervously fiddled with her fingers. She was pacing inside of hers and Y/N shared room in Stark Tower. This was the first time she had shape shifted into one of her older forms from her time on Asgard. She knew her older brother would always love her for being herself, but what would the Avengers think? Especially her outgoing and fun loving girlfriend. Y/N didn't know she could shape shift into a woman, surely the younger Stark wouldn't just leave her, right? Just because she was showing this side of her?
The young Asgardian jumped when she heard a knock on their door, then Thor's voice came through, "Brother, are you up?" Thor spoke, opening the door and peaking his head in, to see the nervous being in the middle of the room. Thor's eyes made contact with his sisters and he grinned. "Sister! It has been a long time since I saw this form!" Thor said, walking in, the grin still on his face. Loki gave him a small shy smile, Thor frowned. "Are you alright Sister?" He asked. Loki sighed.
"This is the first time I've been in this form on Midgard Brother," Loki's soft and silky voice met Thor's ears. He missed his sister's calming voice. "And you and I know Midgardian's aren't as accepting of this. What if the others judge me? What if Y/N judges me?" Loki voiced her concerns, tugging at the hem of her green knitted sweater Y/N and Pepper had made her years ago. Thor put his giant hand on the younger beings shoulder, causing Loki to look up at him with those big puppy dog eyes. Somehow she looks so much more innocent in this form.
"Do not fret sister, I'm positive the others will not judge you. After everything we have been through, I'm sure they'd be accepting of you. Especially Y/N. She loves you." Thor reassured his sister, who looked as though she was about to cry at his words. Loki was lucky to have a brother like him, even if they were adopted, Thor treated Loki the same after everything she had put him through. Loki went forwards and hugged her brother tightly, his arms wrapping around her in a protective manner, his lips kissing the top of her hair. She closed her eyes, savoring the moment she was having with her older brother.
Thor pulled away, holding her by her shoulders as he grins down at the small woman, who smiled up at him. "Now, let's go and see everyone! I'm sure they'd love to see you today sister!" He exclaimed with happiness, grabbing her hand and walking out of the room with Loki shouting in laughter at her brother's pure strength.
As the two siblings came to the part of Stark Tower where the others were located, the two stopped as they watched Y/N laughed with her older brother, Tony, as they were by the built in bar, both of them having drinks of their own. Loki watched them with a smile, Pepper was next to Tony, shaking her head at something Tony had said.
"I'm still shocked you and Loki had gotten together," was the sentence the two siblings heard, Loki's hand now pulled away from Thor's. Loki was confused on why she was put into the conversation. Y/N chuckled with a dreamy look.
"What can I say? He's the embodiment of perfect," Y/N admitted with a soft voice. Tony chuckled. Loki blushed at that.
"I'm sure he is, but he's not my type," Tony joked. Pepper smacked her partners shoulder with a laugh, Y/N laughed along with her.
Thor then cleared his voice, causing Loki's eyes to widen before she hid behind her brother's giant form. The two Stark's and Pepper looked over to him, Y/N grinning up at her best friend.
"Thor!" She exclaimed, waving at him.
"Hey point break, where's Reindeer Games?" Tony spoke, both siblings had the same dull expressions on their face. When would Tony ever stop calling them those stupid names? Thor shook those thoughts away and gave the two women and Tony a huge grin. He turned to Y/N who had gotten up from her seat next to her brother, confused on why Loki wasn't anywhere to be seen.
"Yeah, where is Loki? Is he alright?" She asked in concern. Thor put one of his hands behind him, taking one of his sisters smaller hands into his larger one. Asking for permission to introduce her to them.
"Yes, she is alright Lady Y/N," That caught the three's attention. Y/N looked over towards her brother and soon to be sister in law, then back to Thor.
"She?" Y/N questioned, Thor merely grinned at her, squeezing his sister's hand, telling her it was alright to come out. Loki sighed, before peaking out from behind Thor, her longer messy raven locks cascading down her shoulders as her emerald green optics made contact with E/C's own eyes. Y/N's eyes widened in shock, looking at the woman before her. Tony, upon seeing the new form choked on his drink causing Pepper to pat his back.
"Are you okay Tony?" Pepper asked him, he nodded, trying to stop his coughing fit.
The two women stared at each other, one with curiosity and shock, the other with nervousness and fear. Y/N reached a hand out and stroked the others cheek with gentle touches, before moving closer. She looked over at Thor, who looked at the Midgardian and his sister with a smile.
"Lady Y/N, Lady Pepper, and Man of Iron," Thor used Tony's old nickname, causing Loki to stifle her laughter as Tony glared at him, still coughing and trying to regulate his breathing to normal, "meet, Lady Loki, my sister," Y/N turned to Loki in shock, before a grin formed on her lips.
"I forget how amazing you are Loki," She said, cupping the shorter female's cheek. She then turned to her brother and Pepper, "Look how fucking badass my Girlfriend is Tony," She exclaimed happily before wrapping her arms around Loki in a tight embrace, before looking over to Pepper, "You're badass too Peps, don't forget that!" She said.
Loki laughed at the affection, kissing the others cheek with shyness. Y/N grinned and kissed Loki all over her cheek, before holding her with an arm over her shoulders. "Now I know what we're going to do. Pepper and I are going to take Loki on a shopping spree to get her some new clothing for when she shifts to her female counterpart!" Loki stared at her in shock.
"Love, you don't --" She was cut off.
"Nuh-uh, this is what we're doing." Y/N didn't let her finish before walking towards Pepper so the two could change into day clothes for their trip to the mall. Loki looked at Tony, who went back to drinking his alcohol, he looked at her with a smirk.
"Yeah, you're not getting out of that Reindeer Games," He said. Loki was still waiting for Tony's judgment.
"Your... Okay with me looking like this?" Tony looked at her with a raised brow.
"Why wouldn't I be? You're comfortable right?" Loki nodded, "then I see no reason to judge you for being yourself. Anyways, I gotta get back to work. Have fun with my sister and Pepper, you're gonna need it," he chuckled, before exiting the room. Thor put a hand on her shoulder, causing her to look up at him.
"See, I told you, they wouldn't judge you Sister." Thor said, causing her to smile. This was the perfect outcome of finally coming out to Y/N and her family. They still viewed her the same.
I might make a part two to this, but not sure. How was it? Was it good? Hopefully I didn't make them ooc. These are also happy endings, nothing bad with Thanos happened in this. Everyone's happy.

Y/N: Hey, Thor, I’m going to need your help getting through this.
Loki: You’re not going to need my help?
Y/N: Well, no. When I get to the point where I’m ready to hear cruel, mocking jokes about Steve, I’m gonna come to you.
Loki: Okay, because I’ve already thought of three. Four! I just thought of a fourth!

Detecting Love
Summary: Loki x Fe!Reader -> You and Loki work together at a police precinct in NY, and you have had the biggest crush on him for ages. But when your life is put in danger, will he realise he feels the same way?
Disclaimer: Fluff, Angst, Pining, Taking care of the reader (not sexual), hurtful words shared, denial of feelings, acceptance of feelings. Violent crime cases mentioned. Slight inspiration taken from B99 (I couldn't find ACTUAL police sayings, so I used B99 - sorry for any inaccuracy).
Tumblr media
If Loki had known that the minute you let your voice wash over the radio with those dreaded words, he would have told you his secret earlier.
It had been a few years since the Asguardian God had come to Earth and been on such a mission that it led him to taking a job as a New York Detective which was one of the main reasons he decided to stay, even after his mission was over.
This had been where he met you.
At the time, you had just transferred from Boston.
Boston in itself had been a big leap for you since you had planned staying home with your folks before getting your acceptance letter from Harvard and joining their police force as a Rookie.
So, moving even further away was another leap.
Yet, you didn’t regret it for a minute.
Loki had been friendly, even in the beginning.
You had been one of the very few female Detectives when you joined. And the only one with experience in solving and dealing with Homicide.
Emily, the other female Lead Detective, although having experience in homicide, was more an expert in Narcotics and Fraud.
That morning when you joined and were setting up your desk, he knocked on your office door and stood there in a freshly pressed suit, his hair away from his face and his shoes gleaming. All the while, a new case file was in his hand.
He introduced himself and said he’d been assigned as your partner.
You couldn’t have been more lucky after that.
Over the years, you’d had a couple partners who were either too harsh with their title or not harsh enough. Some had tried to blame children for something that was completely out of their control.
But never Loki.
For all his moments of being “A God” - which came as a shock which you managed to downplay - he was kind.
Genuine.
One of your first cases dealt with a mother and child in danger. The moment the doors burst open, you made your arrest of the father before handing them over to a fellow cop and turning to the mother who was terrified, bloodied and crying on the sofa with the phone unhooked beside her.
Meanwhile, you looked through one of the bedrooms and saw Loki put away weapon and kneel down.
A girl, no older than 6, was cowering in the corner of her bedroom floor, already half-way under her bed.
You watched as he lowered himself to her height, spoke softly and waited until she felt safe enough to come out on her own. Loki assured her she was safe and that she’d never be hurt by that man again.
Once she finally did come out, she hugged Loki and he picked her up and carried her outside.
He saw the look you gave him, questioning if everything was okay and he just nodded, putting his other hand onto the back of the child’s head as she cried her last few tears into his shoulder.
That moment was almost three years ago, and things were still the same between the both of you. Though, perhaps, there was more of a deeper connection.
Walking into the bullpen, you found Loki folded over one of the desks, fast asleep.
Smiling a little, since it was rare to find him sleeping, you picked up a couple files and carried them over to his desk, piling the rest of his under yours.
Placing a gentle hand on his back, you shook him away.
“Loki? Hey, Loki. Go home. Get some rest.”
Slowly, he lifted himself from the desk and looked around, still half asleep.
“I can finish up here. Go on, you head home. I’ll see you in the morning.”
He tried to protest until you told him once more that you were more than happy to finish up the rest of the paperwork and that if he didn’t leave, being a god or not, you’d personally drag him home if you had to.
After that, he thanked you, grabbed his coat and left, but not before saying goodnight.
It was at times like this that you were reminded of the harsh truth that Loki wasn’t with you.
After a year into your friendship and partnership, you began feeling slightly differently towards him. You didn’t know what it was. There was no change in him, there was no change in you. But you began to develop feelings towards him.
Feelings that left you mad at yourself for even feeling. Feelings that left you a little heartbroken at the end of every shift because it meant waiting more than 8 hours to see him again. And if it wasn’t 8 hours or more, that just meant something terrible had happened.
Sure, you’d dated some guys over the last three years, but none had ever stuck around long enough. It was either your work hours, or it was Loki himself that they didn’t like.
Either way, you returned home every evening to your Australian Shepherd, Zoey.
“Zoey! Zo! Where are you? There you are,” you smiled as Zoey came around the corner, clearly having been asleep on your bed…again.
“Hey, girl. Hello. Oh, thank you.” Zoey gave you multiple licks across the face as she wagged her tail before running to the bathroom.
“Just give me a minute. You can have a bath soon. I promise.”
Feeding both yourself and Zoey, you put your plates into the dishwasher before grabbing the dog shampoo from under the cabinet and running a couple of inches of water into the tub just as Zoey jumped inside.
Little did you know, in a week’s time, you’d hear a set of words which would send your heart into a thousand pieces.
Everyone at the compound, apparently other than Loki himself, was convinced that you had feelings for the latter.
Natasha had seen it when she happened to spot you and Loki together getting coffee. Tony, Steve and Bucky had seen it when they went down to the station to give a talk to the officers. Wanda, Peter, Sam and Maria had seen it when they met you in the park, one day, walking Zoey before she ran off only to jump up to Loki. And Thor had seen it every time he went to see Loki.
Sometimes, he’d show up outside your door when he was looking for his brother because he knew, if he wasn’t at home, he would be at yours.
That day, you both had been washing Zoey so when Loki answered the door, half soaked with water and you appeared moments later, seemingly in the same situation, Thor had gotten the wrong impression until Zoey then came running out of the front door.
However, on this particular day, Clint, Natasha and Thor had appeared in Loki’s office.
It had started out with the group sharing information and handing Loki a case for him to possibly investigate since, if he did it, it wouldn’t draw too much attention too soon.
But it wasn’t long until the conversation turned towards you and the feelings they had told Loki you had for him, despite having no verbal confirmation from you.
But this wasn’t the first time your “feelings” about Loki had been brought up to him. And, in all honesty, he was sick of it.
So he put a stop on it, once and for all.
Only, he seemed to mistime his rejection.
“You don’t know for certain.” Loki told them.
“For certain? Jesus, Loki, the woman looks at you as if you’re her whole world! The last time I saw someone that smitten was Peter with MJ this afternoon - and those two are actually together.” Clint told him.
“For the love of-!” Loki had to take a breath. “How many times do I have to tell you people? She doesn’t like me like that, and I don’t like her that way either! She’s just a friend! She means nothing to me. I don’t have, and never will have romantic feelings for her. She’s just a close colleague, nothing more.”
At the trio’s reactions to his comment, and Thor’s finger signalling to behind Loki, he turned and found you standing there and there was no denying you had heard him.
She means nothing to me.
She’s just a close colleague, nothing more.
You could, and had accepted that he would probably never have romantic feelings for you. But that didn’t stop it from feeling like a stab to the heart which left a wound that would take a while to heal.
But those words.
She means nothing to me.
She’s just a close colleague, nothing more.
They hurt the most.
Because, even if you couldn’t have Loki’s acceptance in romance, you at least had him and knew him in a close friendship.
But apparently that didn’t even exist.
Something simply made up by your imagination, when it got caught up in avoiding romantic feelings.
But rather than yelling, crying or fleeing the scene…you said nothing.
Seemingly, you managed to hide your emotions from them all and mask them completely.
Loki said your name, ready to apologise, but you just spoke over him, telling him what you had been ready to tell him when you walked to his office.
“Rebecca called again. She’s got some new evidence for us at the hospital.” You handed him over the case file. “I was gonna ask if you wanted to ride down with me, but…I can see you’re busy.”
You looked at the trio of Avengers and smiled. “Hi.”
They gave similar replies.
“We were just consulting him on a case.”
Natasha elbowed Clint in his ribs to shut him up.
“Oh, you’re really busy then. I can handle interviews this afternoon, you don’t have to worry.”
“Wait,” Loki called your name as you were about to leave.
“No, it’s okay.” You told him with a smile. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll see you later. Bye, guys.”
They all said goodbye to you, watching as you walked back down the hall and towards your office. Within a few moments, you had your coat, badge and bag and stood at the elevator.
“Well…that was awkward.”
Natasha stamped on Clint’s foot this time.
“Ow, what was that for?”
“You know.”
Loki pressed his head into his hands and groaned. “I’ve really messed up.”
“Yeah, no shit, Sherlock.”
“Fuck you, Watson.” Clint replied before he could shut himself up, which earned a glare from Natasha. “Sorry.”
For the next week and half, Loki couldn’t stop feeling guilty. Yet, you acted as if nothing had changed…almost.
Usually, you’d invite him to get food with you at lunch or grab him lunch, already knowing his order. Instead, you’d work through lunch, running on a coffee or two. You’d still finish off some of his paperwork, but you wouldn’t look at him when you gave it back. There was no longer a crumpled post-it note on top telling him to go home and get some rest.
And when you’d leave for home, there was no bright goodbye or bright good morning. If Loki himself, or another colleague, hadn’t physically watched you leave, he wouldn’t have known you’d gone home.
It was hell.
But everytime he tried to talk to you about it, you’d change the subject or bring it straight back to work.
And when he asked you about Zoey…you just said that she was good. There were no more funny stories about what she had done when you took her for a walk in the park. There were no more little anecdotes from you or funny quips that you made on the job.
He was now working with…a colleague.
You were no longer his friend.
The conversations between you and himself on the weekends slowly trickled away, turning into simple questions of; “Are you coming into work today?” and, “Have you got the ME record yet?”
Before he knew it, just over a month of this had passed and it couldn’t have been more torturous.
And then you went on a date.
You had gotten changed at work since the case had wrapped up early and you could actually make the date this time.
Stepping out of the bathroom, you were dressed in a floor length emerald green, satin gown. A slit came mid thigh and your heels - for once - were not uncomfortable. Meanwhile, your hair, which felt like it took forever to get right, curled around your face just the way you wanted it and Loki, unbeknownst to you, couldn’t take his eyes off you for a moment.
All Loki wanted to do was to turn back the clock to over a month ago when he said what he said and slap himself before he could even think of those words.
Because you had never been nothing to him. First, you had been a partner, then a friend, and then a woman he wished he could have to himself. But that third one, despite the amount of times Thor and the others would tell him that you felt such romantic feelings towards him, he had no other choice but to ignore them.
For one, you worked together.
For two…he wasn’t aware about how deep his feelings ran for you when he saw that split-second look on your face after you heard everything he said and how much he missed knowing you, for what you did after work, to what Zoey got up to and even to the notes you’d leave him - even when they were, 95% of the time, about work.
He missed you, more than he ever knew he could. Even when you were standing directly beside him.
“Wow.”
You looked up to find Loki paused halfway from one of the other detective’s empty desks. His jaw was hanging open for a moment before he closed it shut. Slowly, he walked over to you.
“You…you look…incredible.”
You looked down to yourself before finding the first ounce of courage in weeks to look him in the eyes. “Really? Thank you.”
“I-I mean it.” Loki paused for a moment again, taking you in. “Wow.”
“I…I have a date so I better…” you signalled to the exit behind you and Loki tried his best to snap out of the trance you had him in. Stepping back, feeling his heart shatter even more, he forced a smile and bowed his head, letting you go.
“Enjoy!”
Loki didn’t get a minute of sleep that night. His mind was too busy thinking about what you were doing and if your date was treating you how he would, and if he was complimenting you in the way he would.
The next morning, you stood smiling with Emily. Loki only heard a couple of comments from you about your date. But he couldn’t help but smile when he heard you at the end of the conversation, when Emily asked if you’d see him again, you said; “No. Brad was great and all, but…”
“But?”
“I don’t know. He talked about his ex quite a bit. And when he dropped me back home, he got a call and he seemed pretty happy about it.”
“Oh.” Emily sighed. “I’m sorry, hun.”
“No. Don’t be. Brad found his “one”. I’m just…I can wait a little longer to meet mine.”
“Well, in the meantime, I have a case for you.”
But, just as Emily was about to hand you the file, you heard your name being called into the Captain’s office, including a couple other officer’s names.
“We have a hostage situation at the bank, downtown. I need you and these officers to go down there and get as many people as you can, out of there and to safety until SWAT arrives.”
“Yes, Sir.”
Once you left the Captain’s office, Loki made his way to Emily’s desk and asked if she knew what was happening.
“I don’t know. Whatever it is, the Captain seems upset.”
But then they got their answers.
“Listen up! We currently have a hostage situation downtown with live civilians inside. I have already assigned a team but I need everyone to be on call just in case.”
Before Loki or Emily could say goodbye and good luck, you were out of the building like a shot.
Just over an hour later, the team returned, minus one.
Loki called out your name until one of the officers came over.
“Where is she?”
“She said she would walk back to the station.”
Both Loki and Emily knew it must have been a tough one if you had decided to walk back to the precinct.
Only, after 15 minutes of Loki’s thumb hesitating over your phone contact, Emily’s radio came on.
“All nearest available units and officers to 6th Avenue. We have an active shooter inside Jefferson Library.”
What followed were multiple badge numbers and officers names before those three, dreaded, words.
Show me going.
After the first five officers, with people tuning in and out, not really knowing the badge numbers, everyone recognised the sixth.
“Y/L/N, 64952. Show me going.”
“That’s Y/N.” Emily said before turning to look at Loki who had been drained of colour.
For the following two hours, Loki spent the whole time trying to distract himself from what could be happening to you. Every now and again, they would hear the sound of bullets flying and Loki had been restrained to remain at the precinct.
He couldn’t double himself or transport himself to the library. He already had a case to work on and they couldn’t afford to possibly lose another officer, even if said officer was a God.
When a third hour passed, Loki was ready to leave just as his Captain called him into the office, closing the door behind him.
“Sir, with all due respect-”
“She’s in the hospital.”
Loki stopped in his tracks. “What?”
“From what they’ve told me, she’s okay. Just a little bruised. She took a bullet to the shoulder but the doctors have said she’ll heal up nicely.”
“Okay.” Loki didn’t fully know where to put himself.
“They were going to call you, but one of the on-call officers alerted me first and I asked the hospital not to.”
“Why?!”
Loki had been your emergency contact for three years, just as you had been his. They should have called him regardless.
“Because you would have rushed down there and kicked up a storm that they didn’t need. Look, son, off the record, I know how you feel for our girl. We all do. It seems you two are the only ones not to know. But I need you to go down there now, and take her home. Stay with her all week if you have to. I don’t want her feet stepping anywhere near this building until she’s well enough to come back to work, at least at the desk.”
“She’ll still fight you on it.”
“Oh, I’m counting on it. But I need her to rest for this week. I’ll have Emily and a couple of the Rookies cover your cases in the meantime.”
“I can still come in to work, Sir.”
“Perhaps, but what happens the moment you leave her alone?”
Loki nodded. He should have thought.
You’d do something that would probably tear open your wound again, leaving you out of work for longer than any of you want.
“You have a point, Sir. I’ll make sure she rests.”
“Thank you. You’re dismissed.”
By the time Loki arrived at the hospital, you were already sitting up in bed, trying to get dressed.
“Need some help?”
Looking towards the door, you found Loki standing there.
“No. It’s okay. I’ve got it.”
“I’m on strict orders from the Captain and the doctors, and Nurse Jenkins to make sure you don’t open up your wound.” Loki said as he walked towards you, watching you get frustrated at yourself.
Reluctantly, you accepted his help and he pulled your jacket up over your shoulder before kneeling on the floor and helping you put on your shoes.
“I can tie them myself, you know?”
“Without moving that arm?”
“Touche.”
Loki smiled, “Just stay still.”
A moment later, “There, all done.”
“Thank you.”
Loki watched as you went to pull your bag from the floor, but as you did, it slid away from you.
“Loki!”
From the floor, where it now lay at his feet, he picked it up and placed the strap over his shoulder.
“No. Like I told you, strict orders. I’d hate to break them.”
“You love to break them.”
“But somehow, this way is more fun.”
“Of course it is.”
Loki smiled, “Come on, I’m driving you home.”
By the time you both arrived at your house, Loki opened up the door and you walked in and kneeled down to pet Zoey who was taking extra caution when sniffing you and your new bandage.
“I’ll make you some food, you must be starving.”
“I am, but, Loki. Please, you really don’t have-”
“What are friends for?”
“I wasn’t aware that we were.”
An awkward silence settled over the two of you.
Speaking first, Loki said your name. “I’m sorry about what I said. I shouldn’t have said it. You have been my closest friend since I first met you. Know that I didn’t mean it. You mean a lot to me…more than you know.”
After a minute, you nodded.
“Okay. But this doesn’t mean I forgive you for letting Zoey jump out of the tub that time.”
Loki smiled with a laugh. “Of course.”
“And I have some of those mini pepperoni slices you like in the fridge if you feel like pizza?”
“Sure.”
As you left to get into the shower, Loki busied himself with making fresh pizza. Though, his mind ran off with him as he thought back to the first time you taught him how to make it. It had been six months into knowing you and you had just  found out he was a “God”. But not only that, but that he was a God who had never made homemade pizza.
So you taught him what to do.
Perhaps that was where his feelings for you had started, without him realising.
It had been the first time he’d seen you relaxed. You were both in your own clothes - not work attire. Your hair wasn’t in a bun, but rather a loose ponytail until after you finished your meal where you removed the bobble and let your hair down.
However, just as he put the pizzas in the oven, he heard you call for him.
“Everything okay?”
“I–” you huffed. “I need your help.”
“Okay.”
“Can you come inside?”
“A-Alright. Should I cover my eyes?”
“If you don’t mind.”
“Okay.”
Opening the door with one hand, Loki covered his eyes with the other.
“I can’t get my top on.”
“O-Okay. What do you need me to do?”
“Just…here, hold onto this end.”
Helping him with the instructions, Loki held open your t-shirt for you and helped pull it down your arm and body until you said;
“Okay, you can open your eyes now.”
Opening them, Loki gave you a small smile. “Everything okay? Wait, here.”
From down your back, Loki pulled your wet hair from out of your shirt.
“I- I can help you dry it…if you’d like.”
“Sure. Only if you don’t mind.”
“Of course not.”
“After food, though. I didn’t eat at the hospital.”
An hour and half later, you were sitting in front of your desk and mirror with Loki brushing his fingers over your hair as the hot air from the hair dryer blew it back and forth.
Soon enough, all though too soon, your hair was dry and Loki turned off the hair dryer.
“There, all done.”
“Thanks.”
From your desk, you remained seated whilst Loki walked backwards and sat on the very edge of your bed.
“About what I said that day-”
“Loki, please…you don’t-”
“Yes, I do.”
“No. I-” you looked down at your hands for a moment before looking at him through the mirror. “I heard what you said and, you don’t have to say anything else.”
“But I do.”
“What else is there to say, Loki?”
“That what I said wasn’t true. Not even by a thousand miles.”
You were a little confused, but Loki continued to explain.
“The moment I saw your face…I knew what I had said and all I wanted to do was go back in time and stop myself from even thinking about saying it. And then when things changed afterwards, it made me realise that not only did I love you as a dear friend, but also as something more and I couldn’t put my finger on what that was until today.”
“Loki-”
“When I heard your badge number…I couldn’t even think. And when the Captain said you had been rushed into the hospital.”
You could see the tears in his eyes as he told you what was going through his mind.
“Just the thought of losing you…of never being able to see you again or even just hear your voice…I…it terrified me.”
You turned around on your chair to look at him properly.
“I love you too much to lose you. Please, don’t let me lose you.”
“Then don’t let me go.”
Looking at you, Loki seemed a little surprised and you took a mental picture. There probably wouldn’t be many opportunities to surprise the God of Mischief.
“What they told you…it’s true. I didn’t know until after a year of knowing you. I still don’t know why, but I do.”
Without saying a word, Loki slowly stood before taking your hand in his, allowing you to stand with him.
“If I kiss you right now, will you punch me?”
“No.”
Loki leaned in before pulling back. “You promise?”
“Scouts honour.”
“Were you even a scout?”
You were silent for a moment. “No. But the honour still stands.”
Loki laughed a little and smiled before hooking a finger under your chin and pulling you closer and pressing his lips to yours.

Chapter 1
Tumblr media
As the chilling winds of autumn swept through the Asgard, a deep sense of longing settled in your heart. The impending winter brought with it a heavy weight of sadness and loneliness, made all the more unbearable by the absence of Loki. You had found solace in his company during your time in Utgard, but now, returning home without him by your side made the world seem colder, emptier. The prince was sent to the mountains with his fellow warriors to complete the final part of his traditional training, both of you vowed to keep in contact through letters. However, as days turned into weeks and weeks into months, the promise became increasingly difficult to uphold. Time seemed to stretch endlessly and so you found yourself yearning for any word from the prince as half of winter had already passed.
As the usual Yule dinner at the palace approached, you couldn't shake off the looming sense of despair. It was a time of celebration and togetherness, yet, the absence of Loki cast a shadow over the festivities. Much to your dismay, your father extended an invitation to the king of Vanaheim. The news filled you with a mixture of frustration and disappointment. You had hoped that this year's guests would be from Jotunheim. Instead, fate had dealt you a different hand, and you found yourself dreading the arrival of the Vanaheim royals. To make it even worse, the king of Vanaheim was insistent on bringing his son Odr, a bratty and ignorant prince around your age. The very thought of spending the Yule dinner in the company of such an insufferable individual made your stomach churn with unease, declining your brother's well meant offer to punch him at your command, though the proposal brought at least a small grin on your face. But the worst was that the prince's father seemed far too eager to entertain the idea of a union between you and the prince, much to your absolute rejection.
As the evening of the dreaded dinner finally arrived, the sweet temptation to run away grew almost unbearable and the exaggerated pompous arrival of the guests from Vanaheim didn't help strengthen your resolve to sit through this torture. Thor positioned himself across from you at the dining table, strategically placing himself within the ideal range for his knife-throwing plans, as he amusingly pointed out. Your affection for your brother was deep and you valued his eagerness to protect and help you, even though you would never allow him to cause a major diplomatic crisis on your behalf. Should the need arise, you were inclined to employ more subtle and mischievous methods to handle the troublesome prince. Amidst the elaborate festivities and the forced smiles during the dinner, your gaze locked with that of Odr. In that brief moment, something shifted. A glint of genuine curiosity and mischief gleamed in his eyes, a stark contrast to the arrogant facade he had worn until then. It was as if, in that fleeting exchange, you glimpsed a different side of him, a side that intrigued you despite your initial reservations.
Tumblr media
A silent sigh escaped Loki's lips as he sank onto his small bed inside the cramped tent. Despite being a prince, his only luxury on this journey was a bit of personal space. The instructor had already driven them through the freezing snow before dawn, forcing them to spar with each other for hours until the sun set again. They were given a brief respite to eat and regain their strength before venturing out into the bitter cold of Jotunheim's mountains, clad in nothing but thin leather armour. Though Loki had a natural resistance to the cold, each passing day made him feel more desolate. Despite his Jotun heritage, he couldn't shake the feeling that he wasn't destined to be the formidable warrior everyone expected him to be, particularly in such harsh conditions. He would willingly surrender his title, his lineage, and even the entire kingdom if it meant he could sit comfortably in a warm library, immersed in a book while you curled up on his lap. He closed his eyes, focusing on that mental image, exhaling slowly as he imagined the sensation of your touch on his skin and the tender caress of your hands against his cheeks.
Tumblr media
As the evening wore on, you found yourself engaged in unexpected conversations with the prince. The icy barriers that had separated you from him seemed to thaw, giving way to spirited debates and shared laughter until Odin had proudly stated that you were most skilled in mastering your seidr and had therefore spend the entire summer in Utgardhall, helping prince Loki to master his. The mood shifted as the Vanir prince's expression twisted into a sneer of annoyance.
"I'm not surprised", he spat, his tone laced with hate, "Jotun are known to be nothing but brutes. How could they master anything this delicate without help?"
In an instant, Thor swiftly seized the knife positioned beside his dinner plate, his gaze meeting yours with intensity. He let out a frustrated exhale upon observing your disapproving gesture and put the knife back. Fury rose inside of you as you took in what Odr just said. Loki and the Jotun you had encountered during the summer were many things, perhaps even rough at times, but certainly not brutes. You prepared to unleash your anger and confront the impolite prince, but before any words could escape your lips, Odin rose from his seat and forcefully slammed both hands onto the table.
"I must remind our esteemed guests that Jotunheim is not only a valuable ally", his voice reverberated through the grand dining hall, his barely concealed anger palpable, "but King Laufey is also a dear friend to our house, the very house in which you are honoured guests this evening."
The king of Vanaheim swiftly rose to his feet and stepped away from the table, bowing deeply in deference.
"Allfather, please pardon the disrespectful behaviour of my son", he directed a harsh glare towards Odr while keeping his head lowered in submission.
Your father might have been wise but you surely didn't know him to be neither a patient nor a forgiving man, so you prepared yourself for the imminent outbursts of anger from him. However, to your surprise, they never came. Instead, your mother placed her hand gently on his and smiled at the Vanir king.
"We are grateful for your presence at this dinner but you should leave now. We wish you a safe and pleasant journey back to Vanaheim", she spoke politely.
Observing the Vanir royals bowing respectfully and hastening towards the exit, you couldn't resist snapping your fingers. A mist of emerald green materialised at Prince Odr's feet, causing him to stumble, before dissipating without a trace. You couldn't help but chuckle, though your laughter was drowned out by the closing of the magnificent doors. Odin muttered something in annoyance before dismissing you and your brother from the dining hall.
"Are you alright sister?", Thor asked, looking worried.
You nodded and gave your brother a quick hug, thanking him for offering his support this evening before you made your way back to your chamber, a glimmer of hope sparked in your chest, yearning for a letter from Loki awaiting you on the vanity in your room. You hummed a cheerful tune as you strolled through the palace corridors. Despite feeling lonely without the Jotun prince by your side, the events of the evening made you appreciate the relief of not being bothered by the Vanir King's proposal for his son's hand in marriage anymore.
Tumblr media
A faint smile tugged at the corners of Loki's mouth until a sudden weight of a packed bag crashed onto his stomach. He opened his eyes and glared angrily at Bjalki, who had barged into his tent with a smug grin on his face.
"Get dressed, prince", he chuckled, "there's a small village not too far away. They have hot springs and, as my most reliable sources inform me, some lovely ladies waiting to be wooed."
Loki rolled his eyes, pushing the bag off his belly before rising from his cot.
"I might join you for the hot springs but I have no interest in whatever women await in that village."
"Aww you're still thinking about that tiny Aesir princess, aren't you?", Bjalki poked playfully him in the chest.
"I happen to like her and she likes me too", the prince answered dryly.
"And yet you've received no letters from her", his friend pointed out, "and you haven't written any either."
"I barely have the time, considering we're being relentlessly chased through these wretched mountain passes."
"It was just a fling, prince, so you have no obligation towards her", Bjalki's gaze remained fixed on Loki as he traded his armor for more comfortable and warmer attire, "furthermore, you are both far apart. What she doesn't know won't hurt her. You deserve to have some fun, my prince. I am only concerned about your well-being," he added, shrugging innocently.
Loki let out a frustrated sigh. He would never admit it, but he struggled to cope with the anguish caused by the absence of your letters. Then again, he was travelling through the mountains, which would certainly delay the arrival of your letters. For all he knew, you could be pondering the same thoughts, as he had not found the time to write to you in the past month. He draped a fur over his shoulders and made his way towards the tent's entrance, stealing a glance back at his friend.
"I'll join for the hot springs", he muttered before heading out.
Loki and Bjalki had only been away from the camp for a mere thirty minutes when a messenger arrived. Dismounting swiftly from his horse, he made his way directly towards Loki's tent. There, he left a small package containing several sealed envelopes on the cot.

Good Genes: One Shot
Pairings: Sibling!Loki X Plus Sized!Reader
Warnings: Self deprecation
This lovely idea was sent to me by @lilacprincessofrecovery, I’m sorry it took me so long to write and I hope it’s worth the wait. It’s short but sweet 💚 Thank you for the request!!
Tumblr media
You suck in your stomach again.
You look in the mirror to see what your midsection looks like in the dress you’re currently trying to stuff yourself in. You’re mother begged you to wear something else besides black so you’re trying on every dark color gown you had. The one you currently have on is a dark plum, the corset underneath pushing your boobs up to your chin. You look ridiculous.
Frustrated, you start to rip at the laces in the back of the dress. You don’t have any ladies with you, the little voice in your head telling you they all go and tell the other ladies in waiting about how awful you look in all of them. So you go through the dress selection process alone and when you choose the one you are comfortable with, then you ask for assistance with securing it and completing the rest.
You go back into your closet and choose a dark blue one, this one was a little low cut so you would have to change the corset you were wearing. You remove the purple dress and current corset and look at the blue dress on your bed sadly. You just wanted to throw the dress on and not have to deal with hiding your stomach or make sure you have an hourglass shape as opposed to a pear. Knowing you were just going to hate yourself afterwards, you give in to temptation and throw the dress on without the stomach bindings. You throw it over your head and you take a deep breath. You love being able to that at least once before you put on that restrictive piece of fabric.
Knock Knock
It can’t be the maids already…
You go to answer, when you open you find your pest of an older brother on the other side.
“What is it Loki?”, you roll your eyes and go back inside your chambers.
“You are taking a century, mother sent me to see if you had fallen into a black hole.”, he moves into your chamber.
“I can’t decide on what to wear.”, you call out in your closet sifting through it again.
“What’s wrong with what you have on now?”, he asks genuinely.
“You jest. I’m not even in a corset Loki.”, you grumble.
“So..I keep telling you you don’t need one.”, Loki argues.
You roll your eyes at him, “can you tell mother I shall be there shortly.”
“You won’t but I’ll tell her..try not to drive yourself too crazy please. You will be beautiful no matter what you choose.”, he smiles at you.
“Thank you brother. I’ll see you soon, I promise.”
He gives you a smile that says “sure you will” and walks out of your chambers. You weren’t dressing for anything special really, just a midday meal with some dignitaries from Alfheim. You always hated your body the most when the ladies of Alfheim came for a visit. They are all so tall and skinny and you always wanted to be sure you looked your best when they came to Asgard. Not long after Loki left you heard another knock, only it was much softer and didn’t wait for you to give permission to enter. You heard the soft click of heals and a gliding dress, you look to the door of your bedchambers and see your mother walk through them. She looks at you pointedly, “y/n, my dear you are very late.”
“I know mother, I’m sorry…I just can’t decide what I should wear and I think I like this one but I can’t find…”, you start to explain out of breath.
“Darling breathe…you’re brother came to me and told me you were having trouble deciding…can I help?”, she asks kindly.
“No…I just can’t decide…”, your voice starts to shake.
“My girl…I used to feel the same insecurities when the ladies from Alfheim came…I would spend hours with our royal seamstress…I had to look absolutely perfect because, well let’s face it they are…rather perfect. But my sweet girl, I don’t want you to worry about such things. You are beautiful…Now come. Let’s finish you up and meet these dignitaries…”
She assists you getting finished, you decided on keeping on the blue dress that Loki liked, but you ended up shoving yourself in that corset. You finally get ready and go to the dining hall with your mother, you were both the last ones to arrive so when they announced you to the table you blushed from the attention.
You get to the table and you make eye contact with Loki, “you look beautiful sister.”
You smile at him, “thank you brother.”
You take your seat and everyone at the table continued their conversations with each other like you had not interrupted them with your arrival. The food arrives and everyone starts to eat, Loki leans over to you, “I’m glad you decided on the blue, it looks lovely on you. I believe the handsome second prince of Alfheim has been eyeing you all afternoon.”, he smiles at you.
“Stop it.”, you warn him.
“Stop what? I speak the truth”, he smiles at you.
“God of Lies.”, you rebut.
“Goddess of being a pain in my ass…”, he mumbles into his wine.
“You’re being annoying.”, you grab your own glass of wine.
“And you are being stubborn…I adore you, you know that?”, he gets serious. “I want you to be happy and right now I feel like you’re not happy. I feel like you get so lost in yourself you lose what direction your heart truly wants to walk in. You tell yourself things about yourself that are self deprecating and it pains me to see you struggle so.”
His honesty is too much and you can’t take it, so you politely excuse yourself and rush from the table. You leave the dining room and run straight to the gardens, you plop yourself on the bench and start to cry. You take some deep breathes to calm yourself and you start to process what Loki just said to you. It’s true that you don’t feel happy at the moment, some days are certainly better than others. Most days you love life but it’s days like this when you know you were always going to be the lesser one in the room. In whatever capacity that may be in. And as much as you loved your brothers, you also envied them. They were both perfect in their own way, Thor with his golden blonde hair and perfect form…Loki was the definition of tall, dark and handsome…and just like his brother, had the body of a God. You were different than them, you were short and thick…or curvy like you’re mother likes to say. You and your mother had similar body types and it always made you look at Loki and envy his lithe form, questioning why he got the skinny gene.
You heard light footsteps, you look up and see Loki. You decide to look down at your feet.
“I’m sorry…I was harsh. I just worry for you..”, he explains softly.
You look up and smile at him, “it’s ok…it’s true…I’m not the happiest sometimes…it’s just hard some days.”
“Why? What makes it hard?”, he sits next to you on the bench.
“Honestly?”, you ask half joking.
He nods and smiles, “I will tell if you lie…”
You take a deep breath, “some days I feel like the third princess…”, you start.
“I don’t understand..you are the third princess of Asgard.”, he interrupts.
“I know that stupid…what I mean is I feel…lesser to you and Thor because of…well, you’re both beautiful as beautiful as the ladies of Alfheim and I’m...”, you admit.
Loki interrupts again, “you can’t compare yourself the ladies of Alfheim…you are a strong Asgardian woman…meant to be fierce in love and protection. Alfheim ladies just sit and look pretty.”
“That’s not true…I’m sure they are good at…things..”
Loki gives you an exasperated look. “You are too hard on yourself. You are a spitting image of mother, a well known beauty and sought after hand before being betrothed to father.”
You nod, feeling a little guilty of possibly making her mother feel insecure about her own body.
“And as for Thor and I…you have plenty of attributes that Thor and I do not possess. You are level headed, kind…you put my healing magic to shame…a true example of what an Asgardian Princess should be. And most importantly, we all adore you. Me, Thor, mother and father…our people..and it’s not because you fit well in a dress.”
You’re crying silent tears of happiness, “thank you Loki, I love you brother.”
“I love you too sister, come let us go back to the dining hall.”
Loki uses his magic and cleans off your face so no evidence of tears remained, you loop your arm in his and slowly walk back into the dining hall. The actual meal was over and now the royal family members are around the table congregating. You took a deep breath and you look up to Loki who is looking down at you with a soft smile on his face. He gives you a slight nod letting you know he was there for support and you both walked inside.
“Welcome back Prince Loki and Princess y/n, everything alright?”, one of the ladies from Alfheim asked with genuine concern.
“My sister wished to see a certain flower bloom in our gardens my lady, it only blooms at a certain time of day. If you’d like we could take our own stroll in the gardens, I can show you the beauty of Asgard in our flora.”, Loki openly flirts with the lady from Alfheim.
You roll your eyes, “forgive us my lady, I was insistent.”. You look to your mother and squeeze your hand, “I love you mother.”.
“I love you too daughter.”, she kisses you on the forehead. “Are you alright?”, she asks quietly.
You nod, “I am now.”
The end of the meal comes and you can say that it went better than you thought it would. Loki’s words, painful as they were, made you open your eyes to being more present and in the moment. To not focus on the negative and instead focus on the positive, it’s a daily struggle but all you have to do is remind yourself that you are surrounded your family and chosen family that make you feel happiness everyday.

The fool of a God
Tumblr media
Loki, Thor, Hela & brother!male reader
Part 2 to: The foolless God
Tags: @peter-the-pan @ravenqueen27
Recommended song: Willow Tree March [I don't use Spotify]
Warnings: major death?, violence
Not proof read
So fast the universe is going. So fast for the fool of a God that he almost lost himself in grief. His chest pained in ways he didn't like. He forgot about many things before but why would he ever forget his siblings?
Hela, the first born of Odin's, the goddess of death, and Y/n's only sister. She brought havoc with her once she came back from her prison and she started with her brothers.
Mjölnir has been destroyed. The two brothers separated and Y/n stayed in Asgard with his sister. Our little fool has been fooled. His older sister promised him paradise, but what's paradise without all of his siblings and people? Y/n never wished for this.
Locked in his room Y/n had only his thoughts to occupy him. Our God was older than his sister yet she treated him like he was made out of glass. She told him he was corrupted by their brothers, that they told him lies and forgot about him. He wished for his foolishness to not believe what his dear sister said, yet...he couldn't.
One day Asgard fell into a deep slumber. All except for the reason and Hela. The Goddes, immune to her brother's spell, knew exactly why everyone slept. Y/n's grief, anger, and finally denial were too much for him to handle anymore. He let his tears fall to the ground as his questions echoed in each dream.
Why? Is it true? Why would they?
Why can't I remember?
What did I do wrong?
When will it stop?
I want my brothers back...
Asgardians cried Y/n's tears and the dead were dying again.
He just wants it all to be like it was used to...
Tumblr media
In the end, Y/n fell from his exhaustion. Lost in a world of his own yet he wasn't happy as he used to be. Drowned by sorrow he lost his breath in misery. The people around him suddenly felt so fake. The family he dreamt of having was in the end just a dream. Nothing like happiness exists in Asgard.
He dreamt of many things those nights but his dreams were no longer satisfying for our fool of a God. He the one who has been looked down on for centuries and on, he who's been called the foolless God, has been fooled and betrayed by his own foolishness.
What were his siblings' names again? Why did he feel these emotions? Did he even have siblings?
Asgard never felt so cold as now. Raganarök wasn't as bad of an idea than have the God of dreams die in his foolish mind. His dreams spread like a weed infecting everything they touched with his mournful dreams.
Hela came to being infected as well. Without her consent, her heart started to tear. Every closer step she took toward her older brother the more her ice heart burned. Every breath she took felt like millennia. Every blink stung like a hornet's stinger. She had to wake her brother or kill him.
The two lost brothers fought their way to Asgard. They didn't expect to find it gray, deserted, sad. They stood on the Bifrost, slowly walking to their home. There, at the end, stood their dear older brother. With happiness to see their older brother again, Thor ran to him. Loki saw something in Y/n that didn't sit right. Despite Loki's warning, his brother, Thor, ran faster than before.
"Brother!"
Oh to be as foolish as our little brother Thor.
Without reaching Y/n completely he fell onto the ground with a stroke dream. He felt every muscle in him twist and turn like a clock gear and his biggest nightmares came to life.
Y/n stood in front of them, mighty and fearless. Body length shoulder cape adored his right shoulder. White cropped armor chest plate adorned his chest. Black shirt with belts strapped his stomach.
Loki backed away a few steps. He knew Y/n is not weak, he's the eldest, he never was weak. He was foolish enough to fool everyone around to let him be who he wants. His own person. His own idea. This. This was what Odin wanted. The prodigy.
They've been separated for too long.
Loki woke up from his fear and run to his blonde brother.
Y/n stood there watching as Freya dragged Odin away. "Mother?" His question rang like seven bells. Startled, his mother looked at him without uttering a word. "Why are you taking father away from me?" Y/n bare legs started to walk and Freya dragged Odin faster. "Why are you afraid, mother? You wanted this too. To end his tyranny. He would send Hela away." The goddess looked up at her son.
"Hela wants to rule Asgard in fear! Open your eyes Y/n and look behind you! Is this what you want? Do you really wish Asgard to suffer?" Loki almost yelled at his older brother. He feared maybe he wouldn't hear him.
"It's already suffering." Y/n raised a weapon Freya couldn't recognize. "Sorry mother-"
"I AM NOT OUR MOTHER, Y/N! I AM YOUR BROTHER!" Loki shouted. Overwhelmed by this bizarre situation and the fact that his brother can talk but talk such nonsense as he, Loki is their mother, and Thor, of all people, Odin.
Y/n, the foolless God, lowered his weapon. His eyes shined with recognition. His brothers are home. "Loki-"
"What's going on, dear brother?" Hela's strong voice dominated over the fool of a God's mind. He only has a sister.
"Nothing of importance, dear sister. You may go back to the throne room." Y/n slowly turned around to his sister with a slight bow in his statue. A sign of respect, not submission.
"That I can't do." Her walk was as strong as her power. Hela's palm pressed against her brother's cheek gently. "You're so naive."
"Sister?"
Cutting of flesh and a scream from Loki echoed around the hollow of bifrost.
Tumblr media
Iron. Your mouth tasted like iron. The feeling of your body running cold made your head all dizzy. Your hand grasped at the source of your suffering. Everything around was silent by your aching and ringing ears. What's happening to you?
"Mother made a fool out of you so flawlessly!"
You've been forced to cough up blood by your own body. The pricing weapon in your stomach was quickly pulled out. The coldness in your bones ran like a river. Your blood spewing out of your gut.
"How unfortunate you won't get to live through it."
Your knees hit the floor. You lost your balance and fell to your side. With all your strength your eyes shifted and looked up at your sister. "Did you know...butterfly wings are transparent?..." You weakly said. "Our beauty is all very transparent." You chuckled before there was a pain and then...black.
Tumblr media
Loki screamed Y/n's name till je couldn't feel his throat. He held Thor tighter. He had to decide. Let his bother go or run to his other.
Thor woke up to Loki's screams. Rage filled thunder decorated the distressed skies of Asgard. Thor's eyes laid up on your dying form. He ran towards you. Thor fierce with lightning, pushed Hela far far away from his siblings as he could.
And the war begins.
Y/n's body has been long forgotten. Stepped over by the dead. E/c eyes pry themselves to open but with much difficulty. They took their sweet time to look up on the grayish sky and even if, they watched it thru blood and dryness. Simply blinking it away won't work.
The body rolled over to its side. 'Where am I' it thought. Rising up, it could see the massacre in front of it. Its legs didn't work and its stomach ached.
Get up.
On shaky legs stood a child, confused, lost, forgotten. Forced to grow up fast, not being able to enjoy child's life.
"Mom?"
The child's legs moved forward. This is not the home it remembers. Sad, beaten to shreds it lost its glory.
"Dad?"
Small feet hit the cold floor. Looking around, the child felt abandoned.
It started to cry. Pathetic hick ups of sorrow left the child's mouth as it fell down to its knees and yelled out for his family.
Mother
...
Father
...
Sister
...
...
Brothers
.......
No one answered.
Long the fit lasted the little child stood up again. On wobbly legs moved forward but with sight blurred by the tears. It tripped.
Looking behind, a body lay limp below the child's feet. H/c hair stained by blood and noble dress fit for a God torn almost to shreds.
Moving closer the child brushed off the h/c locks. The person seemed familiar to it.
"M/n..."
Too bust inspecting the body the small chips haven't noticed the towering figure above it.
"It's time to go home."
A hand has been reaching out to the child. Awaiting attention.
"Father?" E/c innocent eyes looked up and grabbed the reaching hand of the no faced person.
"No, M/n. I'm your brother." A sad voice echoed around as the owner gently squeezed the little hand in his. "Let's go and meet with your other sibling."

"Where the fuck did you put my holster?!" a voice calls out, booming through the space, forcing hairs to stand up straight and birds to flee the sky. "Barnes! I will cut off your dick and make fucking tartar out of it!"
It's hard to understand for some that so much violence can be packed into such a small figure. For many Natasha Romanoff is hard to understand in her entirety, but Bucky thinks it's so inevitably obvious. Of course that little redhead is the one running around killing Stark's enemies and making the murder scene look like a piece of art pulled out of Musée D'Orsay.
And it was a long time ago that he understood that the words spilling out of her mouth don't actually mean anything. Not when it comes to him, or Pietro or Wanda or Clint or Yelena. Bleeding scratches, purple bruises that last for weeks and sprained ankles come with the friendship—but his dick will be in behold for the foreseeable future, at least.
The holster is thrown at her face a dozen of seconds later, the usual indifferent expression stuck on Bucky's face. He doesn't acknowledge her anymore than that, she doesn't say anything in response. A mission is waiting for them just around the corner and small talk has no space in the hour before something like that.
Like so many times before, he weaves the shoelaces across and straight over his combat boots that are in desperate need of a wash. He's had them ever since his days in the military. It's something Sam gives him shit for—that he's somehow trying to relive his days as a sergeant—but the birdbrain doesn't know how damn practical they are while breaking noses and smashing in people's heads.
"What did this one do?" Bucky mutters, throwing the door open while stomping over towards the sleek black car parked on the other side of the street. Stark really needs to realize that the expensive cars he throws around to his henchmen need to be deep-cleaned after each use. Blood soaks the seats to their very core, stains the windows and console and steering wheel.
"Fucking spy. Caught selling intel about our shipments to Banner," Natasha answers, ripping the car door open before sliding into the passenger seat.
Bucky grunts, shaking his head to rid himself of the strands hanging over his eyes. The car quietly comes to life, taking the two of them away on the streets with one of Bucky's hands on the wheel.
Him and Natasha never talk particularly much. Not that he has anything against her—in contrary to that, actually—but there's just not anything to be said. They can read each other with only a breath, a flick of their hand, a mannerism. Both of them have been forced and molded into picking up on every little detail surrounding them through the years. It's merely a habit at this point.
"Moved the 1:30 on Tuesday, then?" he asks, taking a turn to the right.
"Yeah. Stark wasn't feeling keen on having a run in with Thor and his men on a weekday."
To this day, on each time, Bucky has a hard time remembering how to breathe when he hears their names. Anything with a connection to the people that took everything from him steals his functions away. And it's hard living like that in this business. The Odinsons are all you hear about when you live in a town partly controlled by the notorious family and their loyal men.
The rest of the ride is quiet. Natasha is well aware of his past. Everyone is. Not because he told them, but because things like that get spread around in this world Bucky's found himself in. They knew even before he stepped foot in Stark's territory. And now, when he's family, his bloodlust is theirs and the tragedy of your murder lays heavy on all shoulders.
It's not a secret that Bucky has a shitstorm of trauma left unprocessed in the back of his mind, locked away to the point where he can go days without feeling anything. He's a good asset for that reason, getting the job done quickly and cleanly without any trace left behind. It's nearly clinical, while extracting as much pain and suffering as he possibly can.
The truth is that Bucky is an assassin, a really fucking good one at that, and killing is the only way he knows how to deal with what was taken from him. When he joined the military just after his whole family died, there was still some form of patriotic hope and righteousness in him. It died as quickly as it took for that first bomb to kill four of his fellow soldiers and twenty-two civilians.
Five years later he lost his arm in combat. It was inevitable that he would get severely injured. By then he had become so reckless that Steve would ignore him for weeks until he would apologize and clean up his act for a short while before falling into the dangerous patterns he had become so used to.
He had nothing left to fight for, to live for, except that goddamn blonde that he had to keep alive. The punk had grown ten inches and gained 100 pounds of muscle by then, but he still had that everlasting hope inside of him, the belief of the good in humanity. That made him dangerous too.
Steve is a firefighter now. Saves kitties from trees and puts out bonfires for a living. And Bucky is glad that he didn't follow him into this life—he almost had a heart attack when the jerk showed up all those years ago with a shaved head and combat boots on his feet, deployed to the other side of the world just because Bucky had done so.
He knows about what Bucky does. And he doesn't agree with it, not at all, but he doesn't do anything about either. Maybe because he wants to keep all his body parts intact, despite how many times Bucky has told Steve that he is under their protection. Has been so since the first day. He's pretty sure Natasha has a soft spot for the tall blonde too, with how she plays his buttons and makes him blush each time they cross paths.
"Rogers got that promotion he was talkin' about?" Natasha says, stoically, as she ducks underneath Bucky's arm holding up the rusty door to the warehouse.
Bucky almost scoffs in amusement. His thoughts always seem to predict whatever is going to be said—reality following the intricate pattern of his spiraling anxiety. Real fucking sweet and crippling simultaneously.
"Yeah," he answers, quietly closing the door behind them again while adjusting to the damp darkness of the concrete hallway. "The punk's a Captain now. Youngest ever in the city."
"Good for him," she mumbles under her breath, walking forward without making a sound because that's just how she is.
Gruff voices ricochet off the walls, echo into Bucky and Nat's ears. She walks in front of him, he always makes sure she does. He can keep her in his sight then—it's easier to stave off an attack you see coming than one going on behind your back. The little spitfire is more skilled in punching down enemies than he ever could be, but Bucky likes to know where his close ones are ever since that day.
"Fucking finally!"
Arms are thrown up into the air, accompanying the roll of eyes only Yelena Belova can muster up. There's a streak of blood smeared out over her forehead, but they know better than to assume it's hers. The guy sitting strapped to a chair would be long dead by then if that was the case—Pietro would never allow someone to touch his best friend and live to take another breath.
"You took so long, svoloch'," Yelena whines, throwing down the rag she dried her bloody hands on.
Bucky learned some Russian during the time he was captured by some weird up-and-coming mob group a few years ago. He honestly doesn't remember a thing from that year except the Russian words still lingering in his mind. Most of it he's sure he has learned from the two sisters, permanently making his life a goddamn pain.
"Malyshka, you sent the text eight minutes ago. Give us a fucking break," Bucky answers, drying away a drop of water from the ceiling that has landed on his forehead.
He puts down his gun in the back pocket of his black jeans, giving a nod of acknowledgment to Pietro.
"Is this really a four person job?" Natasha speaks up, glaring at the half-conscious man strapped down. The guy isn't exactly going anywhere.
"You wouldn't think so, no?" Pietro says, arms crossed over his chest and smirking that complacent smirk of his.
"We have a lot of goddamn things to do, you know?" Bucky says, staring down the young man and woman he unfortunately has to work with. He loves the shit out of them, but they really are fucking annoying.
Yelena kicks the chair, waking the man up with a startle. He coughs, spits out blood onto the concrete floor. Ten years ago Bucky would have thrown up, probably. Now it's routine.
"This is the guy we caught sneaking intel on our shipments to Odinson three days ago," Pietro tells them, nodding towards the heaving man. "Go on. Tell them what you told us, buddy."
Natasha raises an eyebrow, a questioning glance towards her sister with a sigh. It must be something really fucking good that man is about to disclose.
"It wasn't the Odinsons," he chokes out. His eyes are nearly glued shut by the swollen skin around them—it took some encouraging before he opened his mouth. "They didn't hire me to give them info. H—"
A series of deep coughs rasp from his lungs. Bucky is starting to lose his patience.
"Hydra did."

“Your Highness, I’m afraid they are true, the rumors.”
Stieg stood at full attention as Thor paced his parlor, knocking carelessly into tables as he tried to wrap his head around the situation. “No, not my little brother. He would never sign a death order.”
“I’m sorry, Your Highness. He wasted little time, actually.”
“And you witnessed this?” asked Thor, his voice loud and booming. “The order as well as the…event?”
Stieg shook his head. “He had me stay with Y/N. He doesn’t want the King to know about her.”
Thor shook his head. “Impossible. Every execution order must go through our father. He certainly knows.”
Stieg shrugged. “Perhaps he lied about why, Highness.”
Grunting, Thor turned away from his spy, looking at the wall with anger. “My poor brother. He’s becoming more lost with time under our father’s oppressive hand. I fear it is not Y/N’s fault. She was only the key to unlocking the building pressure under his skin.”
“Excuse me, Highness?” asked Stieg.
Thor turned around and spoke up. “Loki is in love.”
Bowing his head, Stieg silently confirmed his suspicion. “The condemned found the journal I showed you, and grew hot with jealousy. The feeling of love between them is mutual, Highness.”
“Then they are both in danger. And the journal?”
“Burned, as you requested.”
“Good. My brother may see intelligence inside her, but anyone foolish enough to keep a log of their life in the harem here cannot be entirely of their wits. If my Father had seen her writings, she’d be the one headless,” scowled the Thunder Prince, his brotherly concern mixed with anger.
“May I inquire, Highness, as to why you wish to involve yourself in this matter?” asked Stieg. “If it isn’t too bold? I merely mean to say…he is your baby brother, yet he is also a man in his own right.”
“Odin grows madder by the day in his advancing age,” explained Thor. “He only allows this to add to the paranoia that motivates his judgments. Loki has always feared the day that Odin’s full madness boils over.”
“Prince Loki is missing,” Stieg added. “As of last evening, Sire. He witnessed the executions and then seemingly fled.”
