I'm not doing NaNoWriMo this year (because that really would be jumping in at the deep end). However, I've decided to write at least a few words every day this month to try to ease myself back into it. It's especially hard after such a long (but necessary) break, with everything that's happened over the last year or so, but it's a small step back towards fandom and the old me.

I was so happy to find this binturong plush at a zoo gift shop while we were away. I've never seen a plush of these cuties before and he's perfect! 😍

(fun fact: binturongs smell like popcorn, though this plush doesn't have that particular feature lol)

I have finally finished season two of Good Omens, the tags are unblocked, and I will be crying quite possibly until the end of time. Or at least until season three comes out.

So I finished @neil-gaiman's The Ocean At The End Of The Lane in three hours (couldn't put it down, LOVED it) and have just booked tickets to see the touring show, which happens to be in Canterbury at the end of this month! Today is a good day. 😃

Finally got our tattoos yesterday. The kids and I all got forget-me-nots in honour of my mum, their nan - forget-me-nots are the symbol for Alzheimer’s. Mine is on my shoulder, and the kids went for their arm and neck. We’d been planning it for a while, but it’s all the more poignant now that mum is EOL. We’ll carry her wherever we go. 💔

2023 was kind of a nothing year for me. A filler year. I took a step back from everything and just tried to survive the grief train. So I can't say I acheived anything, except survival. I'm hoping that I can get back to a little more of the old me in 2024, get back to creating and enjoying fandom things. I'm going to try.

A lot of people laughing and joking about our heatwave, but yesterday was the busiest day for London firefighters since WW2 due to the unprecedented number of wildfires in and around the capital. The heat record was broken by TWO degrees. We’re not equipped for this. Climate change is real and we need to take it seriously.
