Everyone else is completely in-shock because, one day, Garl just shows up like "I need to borrow some cooking supplies" with a grin and right outside the window is a literal Legendary Pokemon God, the one that settled a fight between Kyogre and Groudon, and it's waiting for Garl to make it dinner.

Rayquaza, the Sky High Pokemon, has descended! It is the third mascot of the third generation of Pokemon games.

Pokemon

Rayquaza spends most of its life in the skies, and will never touch the earth for several millennia at a time. It feeds on water particles and fallen stars in the skies as it travels the world several times a year. It is said the worst storms endured by the Draconid people are caused by Rayquaza, as violent clashes in the sky seem to herald the coming of a hurricane in the Hoenn Region.

Rayquaza is another "final boss" sort of monster, and the battle takes place atop the Sky Pillar, a towering ancient structure in the center of a hurricane caused by Rayquaza's wrath. While Groudon and Kyogre's clash has been ended by the hunters of the League, Rayquaza's wrath remains unsatiable.

Rayquaza manipulates the weather by controlling the flow of the winds, and the weather can go from a bright sunny day to a violent hailstorm during the battle. To mitigate this hunters must prepare hot and cold drinks for field consumption, lest they suffer the effects of adverse weather. Rayquaza can instantly eliminate any hunters blown away by its Hurricane move, so hunters should retreat or take shelter when it executes this move, or they can risk it by trying to knock it down, as Rayquaza can be vulnerable at this time.

Armor

Rayquaza armor mitigates all weather effects, while providing buffs according to which weather is in effect. Sunny day improves attack, Sandstorm improves defense, Rain improves stamina regeneration and Hail mitigates sharpness decrease.

Weapons

Rayquaza weapons deal Dragon damage while grounded, and Flying damage while airborne

This release is a regular one, so patrons will be charged for it. If you like what I do please subscribe or share this on your socials (as soon as this is public). I'd love to continue doing this, but perhaps at one point I want to do a release that is just endemic life pokemon. Like Voltrobs as treasure mimics and Stunfisk as environmental traps.

Happy New Year everyone! Here's to a great year of the dragon!

[Start ID: A digital drawing of several dragon Pokémon celebrating the lunar new year. Behind Druddigon are the Pokémon Dragonite, Charizard, and Garchomp holding up with support sticks a large puppet of the Pokémon Rayquaza. The Rayquaza puppet is a long serpentine dragon, with two arms, and is meant to represent the dragon puppet in a traditional dragon dance. Rayquaza is mostly green, with a glowing yellow line pattern traveling down the side of its body, and red accents on the edges of its mouth and fins. Its mouth is open wide and one of its arms seems to be reaching for the Minior puppet. Holding the support stick connected to the Rayquza puppet head is Dragonite. Dragonite is a bipedal dragon mostly orange in color, with a light tan scaled underbelly, light tan antennae, and a teal wing membrane. Holding up the midsection support is Charizard, a bipedal dragon with an orange body, light yellow underbelly, blue wing membranes and eyes, and the tip of its tail is on fair. Holding up the last support is Garchomp, a bipedal shark like dragon with no wings, dull navy blue in coloration, with a red and yellow underbelly, and white spikes on its body.

There are several other young, smaller dragon Pokémon walking with the parade. Between Druddigon and Dragonite is Dratini, a blue serpent like dragon with a white snout, frills, and underbelly, and purple eyes. Between Dragonite and Charizard is Axew, a bipedal dragon with no wings, its dull green in color with a dark green head crest and red eyes. Between Charizard and Garchomp is Bagon and Deino. Bagon is a bipedal dragon with no wings, it's light blue in color, with a tan belly, and light grey head crest. Deino is a quadrupedal dragon with now wings, a dark gray mane with red spots, and a dark blue body. Behind Garchomp is Goomy and Jangmo-o. Goomy is a sluglike dragon, with a dark purple underbelly, green cheeks, and a light purple body. Jangmo-o is a quadrupedal dragon with no wings and is light grey, with a dark grey underbelly, and yellow accents on its scales.

Flying above the parade are Pokémon holding glowing red lanterns. At the front is Altaria, a birdlike dragon with a blue body and white cloud like wings. There is Noibat, a small bat like dragon that is mostly shades of purple with yellow eyes. There is also Flygon, a large slightly bug like bipedal dragon that is mostly light green, with dark green antennae and accents, and red accents on the edges of its wings, fins, and a red translucent shield over its eyes. Lastly is Dreepy, a small serpent like dragon that's a dull green teal with red accents and yellow eyes. Watching the parade from further up in the sky is the real Rayquza, as well as Latios and Latias. Rayquza's appearance matches that of its puppet, being a mostly green serpentine dragon with yellow and red accents. Latios and Latias are both jet-like dragons, with Latios being blue and white, and Latias being red and white. End ID]

Pokemon Card of the Day #3027: Zeraora-GX (Lost Thunder)

Zeraora-GX was one of a series of cards meant to boost the Lightning-type from a fringe choice to being at the top of the game. It did so by helping Pokemon of the type to retreat more easily, which quickly helped some of the best Pokemon in the game. Zeraora-GX could also attack, with how useful that was depending on the actual Pokemon used in said Lightning deck. The help did require actually attaching something to each Pokemon, which was a minor issue, and you couldn't repeatedly attack with Zeraora itself, so it wasn't perfect. It brought a pretty valuable idea that had worked in the past to a new type, so it was hard to imagine it not seeing play.

190 HP was a good number for a Basic Pokemon-GX. A lot of similar Pokemon were around 180, and the extra 10 HP made a decent bit of a difference sometimes, especially in mirror matches between 2 Pikachu & Zekrom-GX decks since the main attacker would need that second Electropower to get rid of the opponent's retreating help. There was a Fighting Weakness here, which was a minor issue in the SUM-On format that still had the occasional Buzzwole or Lycanroc-GX. Said Pokemon were well past their prime, however, and once rotation happened Fighting was one of the weaker types for a while. The Metal Resistance didn't change much, as it took until Zacian V's release to see Metal get big attacking decks and the damage output there was high enough that the Resistance didn't help. The Retreat Cost here was 2, and it was notable if the opponent had Power Plant in as the Stadium. Power Plant was reasonably popular in decks not using Abilities on Pokemon-GX, and Lightning decks did tend to want to run some Switch just to be safe.

Thunderclap Zone was a fantastic Ability. Each of your Pokemon with any Lightning Energy attached had no Retreat Cost. Decks with this did need to run a decent amount of Energy so attaching all over the board was feasible. This went especially well with cards like Tapu Koko Prism Star and Pikachu & Zekrom-GX, which could get Lightning Energy accelerated into play. Being able to pivot was a huge deal, especially in decks that ran Pokemon with huge HP numbers that might be able to hide on the Bench after the rotation of Guzma and before Boss's Orders brought that whole thing back. Other similar effects in between still existed but were a bit less common since they weren't quite as reliable.

Plasma Fists was a surprisingly good attack. 2 Lightning and a Colorless Energy was enough to deal 160 damage, and Electropower could get this to KO something in some match-ups. Zeraora-GX couldn't attack on your next turn after using it, and you'd probably be relying on other Pokemon to do most of your attacking, especially once all the Tag Teams were available to the type. Zeraora-GX was strong enough to be a back-up at times, as 160 was no joke. You just didn't want to end up seeing this get Knocked Out and end up losing your free switches as a result.

Full Voltage GX just needed a Lightning Energy and let you attach 5 Basic Energy cards to your Pokemon in any way you wanted. Getting that much Energy in play was really impressive, and some games where things were slow to get going might actually get use out of this. It was, however, an attack from a Pokemon-GX that did no damage, which meant possibly dealing with taking damage in return and problems later on due to that. If you really needed that burst of Energy, however, and could afford to lose the GX attack for the game, this was here and was something to keep in mind for the right spot.

Zeraora-GX was seen a ton in competitive play. Most Lightning decks used it, as free retreating was a rather powerful effect to give to a Pokemon. With Pokemon like Zapdos, Pikachu & Zekrom-GX, Rayquaza-GX, and Boltund V around, Zeraora-GX had plenty of decks to fit into. The result was a very important card during its time in the game for a type that already had a ton to work with.

Parallels between Mega Evo and Dynamax nobody talks about:

Both use special stones that are said to have come from the stars.

Both are heavily connected to a "third" Legendary (Rayquaza and Eternatus respectively)

Both are seemingly powered by wishes (unless Wishing Star is a misnomer)

Both came about as a result of a great apocalyptic crisis.

The original Kanto Starters change form thanks to them.

Both would be much cooler with the addition of Zinnia (unfortunately, only Mega Evolution gets this)

Genshin Descendants official Character Poll

First of all (for all you newbies out there), what is Genshin Descendants?

Genshin Descendants is a Tri-world crossover of Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Honkai Impact 3rd. The cast of Genshin Descendants consists entirely of the children of ships. You, a character insert, are the child of the Traveler and the Trailblazer [purposefully left ambiguous]. The main character, as you soon discover, is not truly you, but a mysterious fox girl who appears to be the daughter of Raiden Ei and Yae Miko…

(There is no Zhongli x Childe, and do not ask. The answer is NO)

For those of you that need it, I will provide a link to the official character profiles. The next upcoming character is Day Huang, but after that it’s free game, and I have trouble deciding. I WILL NOT ACCEPT SHIPS NOT ALREADY PART OF THE WORLD. I have already done:

Last but not least, my characters are FREE DOMAIN, unless being used for the following reasons:

An incest or pedophilic ship (I hate that I have to put this, but there are some people out there)

Any fanfic directly depicting a character of my creation committing sexual assault, necrophilia, or murder

Changing the ‘birth’ parents of the character for any reason (other than BOTH parents dying, or them abandoning said character, and being adopted by another ship)

Things I DO allow, but other creators might not:

Putting certain characters into other universes where OTHER ships don’t match with the ones I have added; E.G. putting Kamila in a Yae x Ayato universe and having her interact that way.

Time travel fics. That’s fine, especially if Rayaka is involved.

Universe crossing and crossovers.

Killing of my characters. It’s not canon, so I don’t mind.

Hoennian Dratini / Dragonair

Once common, but now is an extremely rare variant of Dratini, they look and act no different from their Kantonian counterpart, but have a very unique power.

If a Dratini is born in Hoenn, they often have a small change in their patterns. It can often be very subtle, and most people would overlook it as a cute quirk as most don't know what it means. This most often appears as a star on their chest, but can also manifest as a wave or cloud pattern along their belly. This characteristic disappears when they evolve further.

Another unique characteristic of Hoennian Dratini once they reach the Dragonair stage is they have an intense dislike of evolving further into Dragonite, to the point where shortly after evolving, they often seek out an Everstone and eat it. While some Dragonair don't really care or don't know any better, those who do refuse to evolve, and if they live out their natural lifespan of 4,500 years, can unlock a branch evolution once they reach 4000 years of age. They can evolve further into either Dragonite, or Rayquaza.

Such a feat is considered extremely rare to the point where only two notable specimens have achieved this - The First Rayquaza, and a Shiny Rayquaza. As Rayquaza are extremely territorial by nature, it is possible that other Rayquaza have existed and simply perished by one another's hands, or they never existed to begin with.

This species is an open species, but please ask permission first.
