Going back to the roots with some designs for my potential MapleShade rewrite, still unsure how far i'll go with this idea but you know i love failwomen

Some character design notes under the cut because i am normal

FreckleWish Spiky and messy fur after BirchFace's death onwards; eyebag markings connect to lighter fur markings; constantly wide eyed

ReedShine Very tired look; ear tufts hang downwards; similar face shape to MapleShade post-reveal; tufts on fur aren't feathers, just long tufts of fur

AppleDusk His chest spots are suppose to resemble apple seeds; overall very square-ish shape; lighter face marking connects to his eyebrows.

RavenWing Very small and scrawny, fur "coat" makes him look bigger than he actually is; ears tilt down and cover eyes; raven feathers on cheek fluffs

I didn't want to draw Ashfur, Bluestar, Cinderpelt and Crowfeather cause they are different as hell in the book itself? Soooo friends offered to draw black/white solid cats instead (I chose the black ones because there are more characters I like).

I think about Crowfeather as a black smoke cat, not "very-very dark gray", so he counts here, but Scourge is an impostor a bit with his white paw. I also hate adding red/white spots on solid black cats, I think it ruins their vibes, that's why Scourge and Lightning Tail don't have patterns at all, not because I'm lazy, lol. They are pure void.

If I rewrote anything about Mapleshade's Vengeance, I would make it so the law about protecting kittens from other clans was born from this incident

In fact I would have made the entire event so horrifying to StarClan that everyone involved was sent to the Dark Forest, in blind fury.

Oakstar for his choice to exile kittens. Ravenwing for not arguing against his leader. Frecklewish for chasing them out. Mapleshade for murder and endangerment.

Even Darkstar and Appledusk get harrowing trials for not accepting in the greiving mother, or letting her bury her kits. Make it so StarClan's judgement can be clouded by rage and fervor
