Tell me how both Ranger and Claire went out of their way to save someone, and it's harmed them in the process.

With Claire, it's the whole thing with the pack. She was hurt but still ok till she went back for knight.

With Rangers, they just wanted to go with Isaiah to keep an eye on them and keep them safe, and they ended up watching him die and then having their memory wiped.

Now, with both Ranger and Claire sacrificing something to keep the other safe.... I'm scared of what these 2 idiots have in store.

✧ Pushed against the kitchen sink, Ranger holds onto Claire’s shoulders. their breathing was heavy and Ranger felt like their lungs were burning. they were yelling about something stupid. they always argued over stupid things. Then Claire had said something about shutting them up for good and shoved them against the counter behind them, the kitchen faucet digging into their left side rather painfully and she kissed them. they kissed back of course. This didn’t matter, they kissed her back. their hands on her and hers on them they smiled, feeling dumb. she made all reason slip from their mind.

Pulling back for more breathe, they laughed as she kissed them again, softer. they hummed and kissed her back just as gently. what were they even arguing about before? they certainly couldn’t remember. she takes a trembling breathe and shakes her head.

“you need to take care of yourself, hot shot.” she said, resting her head against theirs. they bit their lip, it was hard to do, to care for themselves meant maybe someone else would have to take up their workload. someone else might get hurt doing it instead. The thing is, maybe Claire understood that more then anyone. no, there wasn’t a maybe about it. Claire did know, and they both understood each other in that.

“You first, dear.” They said, challenging, but softly. they brushed her check, and pushed back the chin length hair to kiss her deeper. the movement relieved the pain off the faucet digging into their back. she kissed them back, and they kissed her back as well. maybe they wouldn’t do better, or they would. they have her though. and she has them. ✧
