Conducts medical procedures including routine checkups, pregnancy checks, assistance with births, sight checks, hearing checks, scent checks, coordination checks, (rarely) amputations, etc

Knows the symbolic meanings of flowers

Works alongside other medicine cats (both in and outside of their own borders) to ensure there is enough medicine and proper knowledge of treatments for all

Is exempt from clan rivalries and is tasked to heal all who need to be (even cats who do not live as part of the Land's Star)

Speaks and shares dreams with their warrior ancestors in order to help guide and assist their clan, and sometimes even the other clans

Interprets signs, omens, and prophecies sent by Starclan to the best of their abilities

Speaks with cats about medical concerns and is sworn to keep the information secret. The information is only to be discussed between themself(ves), the patient(s), and other medicine cats unless given directions to do otherwise 

Knows how many lives their leader has and is sworn to keep that number secret

Partnering with their clan's leader to ensure the will of Starclan is followed 

Will lead their leader to the Moon Cavern upon request so they may speak with Starclan

Will take the clan's deputy to the Moon Cavern to receive their nine lives after their leader's death

Partners with the Den Mother to keep track of the growth and development of the clan's kits. They also help the Den Mother take care of pregnant cats and help treat mentally ill clanmates

Blesses outsiders when introduced to them by a mate within their own clan

Officiates and blesses Unions once Starclan deems mates worthy of having one

Trains an apprentice when one comes forward, wanting to walk the path of a medicine cat. They will pass down all of their knowledge to this young cat until the day the original medicine cat retires, dies, or is exiled

The thoughts that come with reading a HorrorTale fanfic

The current fic has chapters that are incorrect qoutes and memes. One of the qoutes was “Don’t qoute me on this, but I believe cannibalism is illegal.”

I’m laughing cause while I get the joke I wanna point something out, that I discovered while on a research kick.

Cannibalism is not illegal, only the acts that preceed the act of cannibalism are illegal.

1. Murder, 2. Desecration of corpse, 3. Desecration of burial site. I’m pretty sure there is more and these all are fairly interchangeable with each other. However the act of eating human flesh is not necessarily illegal, depending on where you live. Pretty sure only one state in the US actually has cannibalism as genuinely being illegal.

Musings about the term antipope

Seeing "antipope"/"anti-Pope" in Ghost fics has always made me wonder if it's accurate, and I finally decided to look into it because one of my flaws as a writer is doing too much research and letting it kill some of my fun - I'm working on that, and letting AUs with comical nonsense be comical nonsense. Within reason.

Definition of "antipope" from Encyclopedia Britannica: Antipope, in the Roman Catholic Church, one who opposes the legitimately elected bishop of Rome, endeavours to secure the papal throne, and to some degree succeeds materially in the attempt.

So really... Are the Papas antipopes? They're not trying to take over the Catholic Church (at least not as Catholics, anyways). I know it's likely just being used as a term to differentiate from the Catholic Pope and the religious connections, but yeah, words still mean things, you know?

Knows the meaning of every warrior suffix in order to name cats appropriately 

Calls meetings and updates the clan on important matters regarding rules, the territory, and the other clans in the Land's Star 

Acts as a representative for their clan, especially at Gatherings during the full moon truce

Partners with the clan's head medicine cat to ensure that Starclan's will is carried out. They also work with the medicine cats to ensure the health of all cats in their clan

Partners with the clan's Den Mother to keep up to date on the growth and progress of the clan's kits. They will also listen to the Den Mother when it comes to dealing out punishments to kits and queens who have done wrong. And they will listen to comments or concerns from the Den Mother regarding the mental wellbeing of clanmates; especially those in the nursery

Partners with the clan's deputy to ensure clan affairs run smoothly. This includes setting up patrols, ordering repairs and changes to dens, requesting bedding and other materials, and ensuring enough prey has been stocked 

Is required to choose a new deputy by moonhigh once the previous deputy has died, retired, or been exiled

Ensures queens, kits, and elders are fed before the rest of the clan. Then the Den Mother, and Code Keeper, followed by warriors, the deputy, apprentices, and finally the leader themself eats

Will sacrifice food and medicine to ensure all other clanmates are fed and healed, as the leader has more lives to spare than regular cats do

Blesses outsiders when introduced to them by a mate within their own clan

For those in the USA who want a brand-new DVD copy of Luther (the one with Alfred Molina), you might be able to find it for $1.25 at Dollar Tree.

Also, it's my experience that every Dollar Tree carries slightly different things, even ones in the same town, so don't be too discouraged if you don't see it in the first one you check.

I found another movie I'd been looking for, too; a Joe Pesci movie that Amazon wouldn't let me buy because it's "not available in my area", so yay. 🙃

🌈🎀 Hello to all the matsu lovers! ❤️💙💚💜💛🩷٩(◕‿◕｡)۶ I'm not sure how active the community is nowadays but I'm here to report on my findings on something very obscure and niche in regards to Hesokuri Wars ~ This is a very specific piece of discovery (?) but I want to share it with you all in case anyone has ever wondered about it as well ! In Hesokuri Wars, specifically the Yakuza Wolf AU, I came across the concept art for the brothers' tattoos (thank you to @0somatsu for the scan !) and I've noticed that Choromatsu and Totty have the most tattoos ! Their tattoos quite literally almost cover their entire bodies in the typical Yakuza bodysuit tattoo style meanwhile the other brothers only have their chests and mid/upper arms covered (◕ o ◕｡) which was surprising since they're the biggest scaredy cats.

Since I wanted to draw 🍵 and 🌸 I of course needed to understand what exactly was depicted on their tattoos so I could have enough references as needed and I've gone through the trouble of figuring out what they were based on.

Thanks to ✨the internet✨ I was able to find enough to lead me to my discoveries. Of course I had to do my research in Japanese as using English yielded me essentially no results. Special thanks to a user on Yahoo Questions JP that asked about the AU and another lovely user explaining it in a very simple way~ I was able to learn that Choromatsu's back tattoo is of a "tengu" 天狗 which is a type of yōkai (if you've seen or used this emoji 👺 then congratulations ! you know what a tengu looks like) and that Totty's back tattoo is based on the "celestial maiden" 天女のはごろも , a folktale from Japan.

These findings left me satisfied enough but I still wondered why they had more tattoos than the rest. And I would answer this with an educated guess; I assume that the more tattoos a member has means that they endure more pain and therefore showing their hard commitment towards their clan. Through trying to find some facts that could backup this guess this article seemed to be sufficient enough in approving said guess.

*The Osomatsu-san AU Wiki also states that the tattoos correspond to their Yōkai counterparts*

Now that I was happy with knowing about the tattoos of 🍵🌸I came across this cute little post on Twitter about the brothers reacting to Totty and Choromatsu's tattoos ~ that is all I wanted to say

Speaking of useless trivia (something I have an overabundance of): did you know Zach Galifianakis's uncle nearly became a US Senator? It's true. Nick Galifianakis was a congressman from North Carolina in the 60s who ran for Senator of North Carolina in 1972. He lost to infamous rascist and extreme conservative Jesse Helms, a man known for hating gays and black people. Jesse Helms hated the civil rights act, for God's sakes! He was possibly even more conservative than Ronald Reagan! He was awful! But clearly North Carolininians in the 1970s liked him. They reelected him over Nick Galifianakis fairly handily. But that's an interesting story, isn't it? Not something I would have known if not for my current (I think it's still currently ongoing) political hyperfixation.
