film: favorite movie/tv show?

gonna expose myself and say (500) days of summer for movie and death note and black rock shooter for tv!

(500) stuck with me ever since first watching it in 2009-2010. i didn't quite understand it at first, but subsequent re-watches tugged hard. the soundtrack is also 10/10!

death note and black rock shooter, are i think, my biggest creative inspirations. death note is what pulled me into crime fiction, and black rock shooter is definitely the reason why i'm so interested in the concept of alternate worlds and alternate selves.

melody: favorite artists?

paramore, mitski, halsey, bts, rina sawayama, carly rae jepsen, tomorrow x together! there's a bunch more but they're the first ones who came to mind!

galaxy: what fascinates you?

i've really been into youtube shorts / tiktoks about food lately! there's a couple of asian creators who appeared on my recommendations (i.e. doobydobap, lisa nguyen, jeanelleats) and i love their content.

i'm really into thorough character write-ups? especially the ones here on tumblr--sometimes i come across an amazing one that's outside of my fandoms and the writing just pulls me in!

also, the #parallels / #webweaving tag on here! i could spend hours just scrolling and drowning in my feelings.

joy: best feeling you’ve ever experienced?

when my work pays off! that's one of the (many) reasons i decided to leave my last job--i felt like what i did wasn't going anywhere.

in general, i just like seeing concrete, tangible results. i like it when what i do has some kind of impact. i like knowing i was actually able to do something, and that my work was worth putting the effort into!

(a specific experience: having my nonfiction essay published in the seniors' literary folio)

valentine: best gift you’ve ever received?

leaning on more memorable, but last january, my best friend sent over a box of chocolate chip cookies (+ dried flowers and a note)! she moved to the united states but contacted a local seller in the philippines and had a dessert sent over my way. i almost cried lmaosldfsd i've always wanted to be surprised for my birthday and she did that for me :--(

in terms of 'best', it's probably the laptop i received after graduation (aka: the one i'm using now)! i spent a long time with a busted one that took ages to load, and having a new one was a breath of fresh air.

no for real though, i've been trying out different protein drinks in the past couple of months! my favorite local brand, wheyl.co, has a ton of flavors. i think my favorites are their salted chocolate and mocha java variant. 🤤 they kinda help curb my sweets cravings.

i wish they'd release other cool flavors like peanutbutter, oreo / cookies and cream, and maybe even taho 👀 or even just plain banana bread!

💦: If you as the writer could erase one traumatic event from this OC’s life what would it be and why?

Similar answer to what I gave for Aidon’s ask, but I think Seong-hui would want to have his parents alive for a bit longer. They passed early on, leaving him to take care of his two younger sisters…and that’s not exactly the most ideal of situations. He misses them dearly and feels like he missed out on a part of his younger life because of their passing.

🌺: What does your OC do to calm down when they’re scared or after a nightmare? Do they have any special comfort items or need to be reassured by a specific person? How do they handle this if they’re alone?

Back when he lived on his own, Seong-hui usually just dealt with the nightmares by himself. 😅 He wouldn’t be able to sleep afterwards so he’d just stay in bed, maybe pace around his apartment, maybe put something on the television—anything to distract him from his nightmares. The next day is always the hard part… 

The nightmares haven’t really stopped; not even after moving in with Dominic. Dominic’s seen him go through them and has learned how to care for Seong-hui after he goes through one. If Seong-hui’s up to it, he makes him peppermint tea. Otherwise, Dominic has a tumbler jug of water ready. Dominic also knows that Seong-hui doesn’t talk immediately after and doesn’t go back to sleep either, so he stays up with him and puts something on Netflix to calm his nerves. 

🌹: Where in the world does your OC feel most at home? Is there any reason why? If it’s not the place they were born, where were they born? Is there a certain somebody that makes them feel at home where ever they may be? What does home mean to them?

Dominic’s apartment, a hundred percent. He’s never really felt at home at his own—it reminds him of nights spent on his own, of dealing with nightmares by himself, of bad habits, unhealthy habits, things he shouldn’t have done...

To be honest, he ended up staying there for the longest time because it was what he was used to. And Aether lived right next door, he couldn’t exactly leave her alone, either.

🌾: Describe your OC through the eyes of someone absolutely head-over-heels in love with them.

i love, love, love sunflowers! i grew to love them because i associate them with seong-hui, and he's an oc who means the world to me. kind of wish i used the (fake) sunflowers in my living room as a graduation picture prop now ;-;

corny, but i also have a soft spot for red roses--flowers i associate with aether!

this one was fun! i didn't drink because i was still hungover from a previous event (rip meks), so i kept an eye on the rest of my friends lmao. it was one of my first college parties and i remember having a great time with everyone.
