The famous Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was working for  Al Jazeera and exposing various Israeli crimes for the past 25 years has been shot in the head today by an Israeli sniper while wearing a press vest and a helmet (videos online literally shows her headless body being dragged moments after being shot and her press vest is clear as the day) while she was cowering on the ground and repeatedly screaming “press!” during her coverage of the Israeli military raiding a refugee camp in the Palestinian city of Jenin where at least one unarmed Palestinian civilian was killed by them (source: X)
Israel regularly kills, kidnap, torture and brutalize journalists from all nationalities that document their crimes in occupied Palestine and per the norm, American/western media such as the New York Times are reporting on this literal war crime as “clashes,” even though some of them had their own journalists killed and their offices bombed in the past by Israel.

Rating POSTAL Dudes by how good they smell:
POSTAL - 9/10: I think his habitual reclusion and distrust of the world would probably mean he’s showering constantly, moreso than any other Dude, especially if he thinks there’s a ‘Hate Plague’ going on. I think he smells basic; very simple routine, just enough to make sure he feels clean, so at most he’ll smell like some generic 3-in-1 body wash and shampoo/conditioner, maybe something slightly nicer just for himself (some decent $15 aftershave for that menthol scent and cooling relief).
POSTAL Redux - 3/10: Exact opposite of his original incarnation, this greasy son of a bitch isn’t scared of shit he just wants to throw explosives at ostriches and parades. Barely showers, constantly stinks of stale sweat, old blood, cheap leather and cheaper cologne, punctuated with the scent of burnt gunpowder. Borderline noxious.
POSTAL 2 - 4/10: Smells just as bad as Redux Dude but gets the edge here because every now and then he goes outside and uses the neighbor’s hose to blast himself. Shockingly uses deodorant, still not enough to be perpetually leather and denim clad in the great state of Arizona. Almost constantly reeks of sweat and has the recognizable yet faint scent of stale piss wafting off of him, accompanied by the scent of even staler crack and pungent fast food. Almost pungent enough to drown the rest out. Almost.
POSTAL 3 - 2/10: If you were to raid the wash cart after a double overtime football game, steal every jockstrap in the place, wring the sweat into a bucket, and then bring it all to a boil, you’d have somewhere in the realm of what a clean P3 Dude smells like. On average, however, this man has managed to combine the overwhelming sensory nightmares of cat piss and cheap spray deodorant into an almost lethal concoction, ONLY made breathable by the strange and overpowering smell of gasoline that seems to seep from his pores. Approach with caution and for the love of god: do not bring bleach or matches near this freak.
POSTAL 4: No Regerts - 5/10: Despite looking like he crawled out of a dumpster after a bad divorce or a fantastic honeymoon, P4 Dude is shockingly passable in terms of being able to stand next to him for a prolonged period without gagging or killing him. Having learned the efficacy of not being encased in leather in the desert, he’s managed to bring his pungency down several notches. Still reeks of sweat most of the time, and the smell of burger grease and pepperoni follows him like a specter of death, but the piss scent stopped clinging on as hard. He’s also upgraded from hose showers with no supplies to sink baths with tiny gas station travel soaps. It’s an improvement, trust me.
Brain Damaged - 2/10: Take a look at his living space in the title screen, then watch the game’s cutscenes. Just soak it all in. Now that you’ve done that, you can understand that his rank ass smells exactly as bad as you might think it does. If it can come out of his body, it’s probably soaking some part of him. If you think any of the clothes on him have been washed, you’re wrong. This man smells like if someone firebombed an outhouse and pissed on it to put it out. The best thing for him would be getting blasted with a firehouse and a box of laundry detergent. Please.
The Other Dude - 1-10/10: Entirely depends on how the BD Dude would imagine he smells depending on the situation.
POOSTALL Dude - 6/10: Despite the name, this one actually smells pretty decent. The clearly larger coat with the rolled sleeves implies some level of understanding about how not to smell like swamp ass and sweat soaked leather, and truthfully, he looks like he bathes semi-regularly, a rarity amongst these guys.
POSTAL Doe - 9/10: I admit fully and entirely to my lack of impartiality to this one, but I’m willing to stand by it even if I lose my Stink Judge License: first of all, sleeveless leather trench coat AND a crop top mean less overheat which means less sweat. Second of all, visually cleaner than pretty much any of the dudes which implies some kind of self care regimen. Third, and most importantly, girlstink counts positive. I will not be turning in my badge or my gun.
Movie Dude - 8/10: This may be controversial, but despite the squalor he lives in and the fact that hems a cuckold and that his life sucks and that he can’t get a job and that he’s a loser- I digress. I think Movie Dude is in the top echelons of Dude Stink solely because I think he’d have a breakdown if he smelled bad. This man uses Dr. Teals. He stinks like a mix of eucalyptus and peppermint. If ever there was a Dude who had a skin routine, he still wouldn’t, but he’d definitely think about it one day. I think by the end he gets an extra point just because he gets a little hotter the more deranged he is. Overall very pleasant but I still wouldn’t give him $4.
John Murray - 2/10: Hasselridge seems to have a very… interesting relationship with what is and isn’t normal, so unsurprisingly, Johnny Boy would probably smell pretty rough. Considering how dingy, run down and shitty everything in that town appears to be, I can’t imagine anyone else is smelling like roses either. Just avoid the entire place, not least of all because of the zombie thing.
Shtopor - 0/10: Bad.
Nottem Portant - 5/10: Despite the misanthropy, dollar store Nathan Explosion thing and the absolutely abysmal gameplay, Mr. Hatred is actually extremely middle of the road on stink. Sure, he doesn’t smell great, but shockingly he washes his ass despite the whole ‘death to humanity’ thing. He does get point deduction for not washing his hair though, grease mop motherfucker.

So I've been playing the update for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with the Blueberry Academy and some of the pokemon within the game have been giving me thoughts.
So we know that hisuian specific pokemon are supposed to be extinct. that was a whole thing yet you can find hisuian variants of pokemon within the terrarium of the BB academy. How would they be extinct if you can still find them?
So there's two types of extinct, there's extinct in the way you usually think of it where an animal or plant just no longer exists at all. There's no going back and in the pokemon world the only way to sort of get them back is through fossil restoration.
But there's also another type of extinct that is called "functional extinction." This is where the animals, or in this case pokemon, cannot contribute to the ecosystem due to population decrease or disruption in the gene flow.
My theory is that Hisuian pokemon are functionally extinct. In talking to Perrin she has a hisuian growlith and is looking for an ursaluna, but besides this very old Ursaluna you never actually see hisuian pokemon in the wild wild. The terrarium of BB academy is not the wilderness and they are not found anywhere in the wild in BD and SP either. This suggests that while still around they cannot survive in the wild alone anymore and instead those that remain are all in the care of humans in some shape or form. (I am not counting raid battles, those are more event type things and I do not think they should count)
Likely the clans of hisui are still around in some way, be it combined, split, or otherwise they likely are the ones that care for these hisuian pokemon most because something has changed drastically in the enviroment that makes it hostile to the continued survival of them.
For pokemon like oh, hisuian sneasle and sneasler that was likely the introduction of jotoan sneasle and wevile out competing their solitary counterparts. Same with a vast majority of the hisuan pokemon. They were likely out competed.
Now with pokemon such as wyrdeer and kleavor who have more specific evolutions you can likely find hisuian stantler and syther in the wild present day, but the methods of their evolution have been disturpted. Now Stantler needs to know physheild bash, master it, and use it agile style again and again to evolve. You could argue that with the loss of agile and strong style battle that explains why they can't evolve.
Except you can find fully evolved Wyrdeer in the wild in legends arceus. This suggests there was some other thing that was also disrupted in the enviroment that made it so they couldn't evolve. This could be a lack of specific nutrients, migratory paths disrupted, or any other number of things. While kleavor needs a specific ore. With a finite resource that likely wound up being over mined leaving little to none left.
Long story short it kind of bothered me that hisuian pokemon were considered extinct yet in later games you can still get them. But with what I've seen thus far it actually makes a lot of sense if rather than being extinct extinct they are instead functionally extinct. Thus have the capability to return to the wild down the line with extensive conservation efforts.

[ 📹 Al-Jazeera Arabic publishes new footage of desperate, starving Palestinian civilians in northern Gaza being shot and killed in cold blood by Zionist snipers who targeted the civilians as they attempted to retrieve food aid that was air dropped into Gaza a distance from where the group had been gathered, a direct violation of International humanitarian law and a crime against humanity.]
🇮🇱⚔️🇵🇸 🚀🏠💥🚑 🚨
ISRAELI OCCUPATION FORCES CAUGHT OPENING GUNFIRE ON STARVING PALESTINIANS ON DAY 182 OF GENOCIDE
On the 182nd day of "Israel's" Special Genocide Operation in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) committed a total of 5 new massacres of Palestinian families, resulting in the deaths of no less than 54 civilians, mostly women and children, while another 82 others were wounded over the previous 24-hours.
According to Gaza's Ministry of Health, many victims remain trapped under the rubble of buildings they were sheltering in at the time of being bombed and shelled, who, although presumed dead, are unable to be reached due to the IOF actively blocking paramedic and civil defense crews from reaching the sites of Israeli attacks.
Meanwhile, in an unusual move, the McDonald's corporation will be buying the entirety of the Alonyal McDonald's franchise In "Israel", which includes a total of 225 stores, employing approximately 5'000 Israelis.
McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinsky said the franchise has seen "meaningful business impact" as a result of boycotts and protests organized by the BDS movement against the Israeli franchise, along with other McDonald's chains, after the Israeli franchise announced it would be offering free meals to Zionist soldiers committing a genocide in the Gaza Strip, beginning after the events of October 7th.
McDonalds added that it “remains committed to the Israeli market and to ensuring a positive employee and customer experience in the market going forward."
Sales growth for the McDonald's division of the Middle East, India and China were down significantly, with sales growth for October-December at just 0.7%, well below the market expectations of 5.5%.
Similarly, sales for Starbucks, another U.S. company which has deep financial ties to "Israel," while the leadership of the company holds an openly Pro-"Israel" stance, has also seen significant harm to sales due to boycotts and protests, prompting CEO Laxman Narasimhan to state back in February that Starbucks had seen an "significant impact on traffic and sales."
Meanwhile, the Zionist entity's authorities released a total of 101 Palestinian prisoners from Gaza who were kidnapped and detained by the IOF during its war of genocide in Gaza, many of whom showed signs of torture, and included some prisoners who were taken during "Israel's" raid of the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, occupation warplanes bombarded agricultural lands in the vicinity of the Salah al-Din Gate, along the Egypt-Palestine border in the city of Rafah, in the south of Gaza.
At the same time, the carnage of "Israel's" war of genocide in Gaza resumed on Friday, with renewed artillery shelling of the central and western Khan Yunis governate, while the IOF also resumed bombing on the southern Gazan city of Rafah.
Intense Zionist airstrikes targeted Sheikh Zayed City, in the north of the Gaza Strip, while the central governate of Gaza also saw renewed artillery shelling.
At midnight, Zionist fighter jets bombed several residential buildings in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, in the north of Gaza, while occupation forces directed an intense artillery bombardment on the southwestern and southeastern areas of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, as well as directing artillery fire on residential homes to the east of the Al-Maghazi Refugee Camp in the central Gaza Strip.
The resumed intense Zionist bombardments across the Gaza Strip led to dozens of deaths overnight, along with the wounding of scores of others, including women and children, many of whom remain buried under the rubble of their homes and shelters.
IOF jets also bombed several residential homes in the Batn al-Sameen neighborhood, located to the southwest of Khan Yunis, while also bombing the village of Abasan, to the east of Khan Yunis.
Elsewhere, Zionist forces withdrew troops from the eastern region of Tanzania, coinciding with the intense bombardment of the area.
Tragically, local paramedic and civil defense personnel recovered the bodies of of three martyred civilians from the town of Al-Qarara, to the north of Khan Yunis.
At the same time, Israeli occupation warplanes bombed various parts of the central Gaza Strip, including the areas of Al-Nuseirat, Al-Maghazi, Al-Zawayda, and Deir al-Balah, resulting in the martyrdom of at least 15 Palestinian civilians, and also wounding a number of others.
Zionist occupation air forces also bombed a gathering of civilians near the Abu Holi Junction, northwest of Al-Qarara, resulting in the deaths of at least three civilians and wounding a multitude of others.
Back in northern Gaza, in yet another horrific tragedy, occupation warplanes bombed civilian structures in the Beit Hanoun area, with a second strike targeting paramedic crews as they attempted to transport the dead and wounded to a nearby hospital.
As a result of "Israel's" Special Genocide Operation in the Gaza Strip, the death toll among the Palestinian population has risen in excess of 33'091 civilians killed, over 25'000 of those martyred being among women and children according to the United States Pentagon, while another 75'750 others have been wounded since the start of the latest round of Zionist aggression, beginning on October 7th, 2023.

You frantically panicked feeling a hand on your back. It made you jump out of your skin, taking a leap forwards to get away. Turning around, you were panting. – “Hey it’s just me.” – Cal said holding both his hands up. You untensed knowing it was him. BD bleeped loud on his back. – “You are right.” – he told the droid. – “I’m sorry I should’ve given you a warning before touching.” – Cal told you.
You shakily shook your head. – “No… it’s fine… it’s just… something I need to get familiar with.” – you responded rubbing your hands nervously together. Cal nodded lowering his hands. He knew all too well of your journey. How touch starved you were after being in solitude for so long.
Dropped onto a forgotten planet because there was a war going on. Inquisitors raiding every planet. Your parents thought it was best to hide you on a planet not existing on the maps. Cal remembered it clear how you first shared your story after finding you.
He was on the planet to lay low from the empire for a while. What he didn’t expect was to find someone, a girl on this abandoned planet. He was for sure surprised. At first you were very wary. Keeping your distance. Only the droid was allowed to come close after a while. Cal respected your boundaries, trying to gain your trust from afar.
He kept a close eye, knowing BD was near you. It took him nearly a week to just get a few inches closer to you. By the end of the next week he achieved to sit by you. Then it took him a lot more trust and patience to be where he was now with you. Trusting him enough you shared your story. Of how your parents dropped you here with the promise to return and collect you.
You waited patiently for years. If it wasn’t for Cal dropping by, you’d still be waiting. Waiting for people that were never going to come. You did not know if they were killed or had simply forgotten about you. To be honest you couldn’t care. They abandoned you.
Cal looked briefly over his shoulder to BD. BD bleeped loud. – “May I approach?” – Cal said humorously. You laughed loud. – “Since you asked so nicely.” – you replied. Cal smirked approaching you calmly. He held his hand up, quirking his eyebrow up. You smiled slowly moving your hand up as well. Your palms touched making him smile wider. He moved his fingers down, holding your hand.
He gestured if he could come closer. Hesitant for a second, you yielded and nodded. Cal stepped closer to you. Tips of your shoes touching. He brought your entangled hand closer to his lips, leaving a sweet kiss there. It tickled making you wave your hand at the ticklish feeling. – “Now do it here.” – you said pointing at your arm. – “As my lady pleases.” – he said not minding at all. If it was up to him, he’d be kissing you non-stop all around.
He kissed your arm, giving you that same tickling sensation. – “Anywhere else Y/n?” – he asked raising his eyebrow flirty. You thought for a moment, tapping your neck gently. You didn’t have to say that twice. Cal placed his hand behind your neck, forcing you to lean your head back to give him more area to kiss. His lips kissed you so teasingly it almost made you weak on your knees.
He kissed you there trice as you chuckled enjoyable. He knew you liked it, you just needed to get more used to it. The beard that he had grown out, brushing against your smooth skin. You cleared your throat tapping your chin. Cal looked up, tilting your head more back by your chin. – “And here I thought you weren’t so keen on my touch.” – he chuckled out with a flicker of pining in his eyes.
“I have my moments.” – you answered, tapping your chin again. BD hopped off his back, letting you have some room. Cal slowly kissed your chin, his touch making you grasp onto him. Cal pulled your chin down, his lips coming in line with yours. – “My turn to choose.” – he breathed out, staring at your lips. – “Go on.” – you whispered.
Cal smirked, knowing there was something else he needed to do first. He moved his hands under your shirt against your back. Slowly letting his  hands rub your back. Your back arched as you groaned with delight. He knew it was your weak spot. So desperate for his touch all of the sudden you grabbed him, forcing your lips onto his. He kissed you like there was no one around. Well there was no one around…
When you returned to the Mantis, BD was joined by Cere. – “I was wondering what you were doing for the little one to seek out my company.” – Cere teased, giving him a head rub. – “Nothing like you think.” – Cal answered humorously. Cere hummed not believing much of it. You came sitting down. Cal coming to sit beside you.
He moved his hand between your back and the sofa, forcing you to lean a bit forwards. He let his hand slide under your shirt once more. Rubbing your back in a calming way. He felt how it untensed you. BD hopped onto the table in front of you. BD started bleeping loud moving around while giving sight to his words.
You laughed loud at what he was telling you. Cal smiled, looking over at you. Impulsively he gave your shoulder a kiss. – “I love you Y/n.” – he whispered, making Cere pretend she didn’t hear that. You turned to him. – “I love you too Cal Kestis.” – you responded.

[Id: a video of an Al Jazeera live feed, showing Shireen Abu Akleh's funeral procession. Hundreds of Palestinians stand, waving Palestinian flags and at the forefront, a group carries Shireen's casket. A line of IOF soldiers, wearing helmets and batons, blocks their passage and soon descends on the Palestinians. The soldiers push against the people carrying the casket, that's almost dropped. A journalist says "I've looked at news around the world through decades and I've never seen a scene like this. Look at this! Attacking innocent people carrying the casket. I don't know what to say, I don't know what to say anymore! What are they expecting now? This is unbelievable. Such disrespect for the dead and for those who are mourning the dead. How is that a security threat to anyone? How does it require this kind of repression, this kind of violence on the part of the Israelis?" / end id]
On 11/05, Shireen Abu Akleh, a beloved Palestinian journalist, was shot dead by Israeli Occupation Forces.
This was a targeted assassination. Ali Al Samoudi, Shireen's colleague who was hit by other bullet, says Israeli snipers shot three bullets at the team of journalists, the third hitting Shireen in the head on the space unprotected by her helmet. Shatha Hanaysha, the woman who was by her side, said the snipers kept shooting at people trying to rescue them, even though they were wearing vests clearly marked as press.
Even though there's clear evidence, the Israeli Defense Ministry tried to say the Palestinian armed resistance had shot her. B'tselem quickly disproved this, showing the Palestinian soldiers were yards away from where she was killed.
After killing her, the IOF brutalized the mourners, raiding the hospital Shireen was taken to and harassing the crowds giving condolences to her family, taking down Palestinian flags and arresting people. They also brought Shireen's brother into interrogation in order to prevent expressions of Palestinian nationalism during the funeral.
They still covered her casket with the Palestinian flag. The IOF descended on the crowd gathered for the funeral procession and targetting the pallbearers, almost dropping the coffin. The video is harrowing and painful to watch. They didn't want Palestinians to mourn over her casket so they only allowed her to leave the hospital in a closed car, and still ripped the Palestinian flag from the car, while arresting several others for simply raising the flag.
The funeral procession still happened, being called one of the longest in Palestinian history. IOF soldiers tried to break the collective mourning, riding along with horses and separating Muslims and Christians, only allowing Palestinian christians into the church.
While the Jabari family was gathered to mourn Shireen, bus loads of settlers came and took over their building. Now, they're on social media boasting about their "new building acquisition."
This morning, the Israel Defense Ministry showed a blurry video of the soldiers descending on the pallbeares and said they attacked them because they were throwing stones at them, what's simply never happened. They invented the stone. To the unrelenting hasbara, I'm leaving this comment by a Palestinian organizer:
Tumblr media
Even though there's piles and piles of proof, western media outlets are making spineless reportings saying they can't be sure who killed her until further investigation.
It's our job to give dignity to Shireen's memory, that the Israeli government is trying so hard to slander. She put herself in the line of fire of her colonizers to amplify the plight of her people. The least we can do is follow journalists and activists and organize, as Al Jazeera has broadcast:
Israel will not hold itself to account, just like its apartheid regime won’t dismantle itself. International stakeholders who do not call this out simply cast themselves as a cog in Israel’s whitewashing machine.
It's the time to take Palestinians side. It's not the time to dispute BDS guidelines, with basic stuff like supporting Eurovision.
Here are posts with Palestinian based resources.
Here's a list of protests that you can attend this Nakba Day. If you can, ask for a friend to come with you and show your support:

I have like 3 things I really want to write, but I'm afraid of the AO3 writers curse.
Currently they are connected.
1) Dreadwing character writing stuff. He and his twin were done dirty in cannon so I'm thinking of writing something where DW defects, uses the Harbinger's space bridge to get Skyquake's body out of the shadow zone, removes the Dark energon from his corpse and promptly burries him properly so that he can let his brother rest no longer an undead terrorcon. However the DE energy signal attracts Autobots and he's taken prisoner because he's already exhausted and covered in DE(which had been shown in the series to weaken/disorient bots) and can't fight properly
2) Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave decide to leave the mining operations to Knockout because all of them are considered too busy and important to deal with it. It was Breakdown's job but he's dead, Dreadwing can't do that because he has defected so only KO is left(who at this point is incredibly irritated to be assigned such a job, and has already been on a downward spiral since BD died). The cave gets raided by the bots, Knockout ends up pinned with bulkhead's fully charged blaster 2 centimetres from his face and despite having his saw on BH's neck, he wouldn't have time to actually rotate the saw and do any significant damage in the split second it would take bulkhead to fire. He is forced to surrender and is taken prisoner
3) while KO is brought to his cell, he finds Dreadwing already there. With nothing else to do now that they're prisoners of war and each noticing the other isn't well, they decide to talk about the two they lost. They help eachother deal with the grief of loosing a loved one, and how the Decepticon culture on the Nemesis made it difficult to properly grieve. Dreadwing remarks that even though he did free his brother from the fate Starscream doomed him to with that dark energon, he doesn't feel much better, He still misses his brother a lot. KO helps him realise that nothing he does will just immediately remove that pain and make everything better, and that that's ok. By the end of their talk it's late, and they both go to bed feeling a little less lonely than they did before.
All of this is set in a post S2/ S3 Au. Shockwave, Magnus and Predaking are there, it's just that DW doesn't die in S2 and KO defects a little faster than he did.
It's not a ship Au, this is entirely platonic (KOBD for life personally) (and a Predaking/ Dreadwing rare pair I saw on Ao3 once which I really liked). I just like the thought of two of my favourite cons, both of which have it in them to do better than what the cons have become, coming together and learning how to grieve

Artie's Scavenger pack!
loading file: wildlife_examination_cyclexxxxxxx ...
User: BEtH_Os.1
Subject pack regular, despite continued aggression displayed towards and recieved from neighboring slugcat colony. closing doors to outside chamber not yet necessary- they do not seem to even fathom leaving the can grounds.
Subj. Purveyor: clever, greedy and with a penchant for shiny objects, Purveyor is often caught raiding the User's minor data storage facilities or trying to pry Os.1's eye away from its main unit. The subject's obsession often finds it in direct conflict with the neighboring slugcat colony, especially with the large spotted specimen often seen wandering the Can. Due to worry of serious lasting injury, it is currently being calculated if opening access to a major data storage unit would incentivize Purveyor to share its "treasure.
Despite the undesirable behaviour, purveyor appears to be trusted and even loved by the rest of the subjects, and is often seen grooming or tending to the others' wounds.
Subj. Skittish: a small specimen, not quite adult judging by its stature and behaviour, but with little chance to grow larger. Genetic testing of fur samples reveal a familial connection between it and Purveyor, though what kind is hard to discern- considering their ages, they are suspected to be siblings. The subject would be quite unremarkable, with its lack of dominance and boldness, if it weren't for it's intellect- surprisingly high considering its species. It is often seen hauling spears on its back, but will often combine different objects to craft- more often than not lanterns or explosive spears.
Subj. Shaman: An interesting subject. Smaller than Purveyor and even more thinly built than Skittish and partially consumed by the Rot, it is a wonder just how it is given such a high standing between the pack. Despite its physical issues, it seems to have caught to my teachings somehow. it often visits the BD mainframe closure mechanism, blabbering away and drawing the ancient's karma symbols onto the door- it might be possible it expects the door to open at some point?
Subj. Boss: Despite the specimen's imposing presence, it seems as if it is the most soft-spoken and withdrawn of the group. Often appointed the role of leader, Boss does not shy away from anything, but rather appears to simply prefer quiet.
However withdrawn Boss might be, it seems as if it does enjoy the company of its pack members: it seems to hold Shaman in a high regard, even going as far as to share its affliction (a ritualistic tradition, perhaps), cares for Skittish like it were a child and has a special interest for Purveyor, often bringing it food or high-value trinkets in what appears to be a courting display. Purveyor indeed also shows interest, but seems to be more amused by the chase than accept Boss's offerings. A way to milk it for all its worth? or maybe it is attempting to create its own courting gift.
Nevertheless, the presence of a possible breeding couple bodes very well for the longevity of the experiment.
AccidentalSubject Large: An interesting discovery, as mentioned in incident report no.3. A failed (?) attempt to introduce hostile wildlife to the Can, thislizard was instead tamed via a rather panicky diversion tactic involving food while hunting Skittish. It now follows Skittish around, protects the pack and is decidedly well-fed.
Overseeing Iterator: Better Dreamscape
Communications report: Still nothing. Seeding pearls around the slugcat colony residing in MI's can has not garnered any result, to the point that I wonder if my messages have reached him at all. Maybe he too perished to the Rot, like No Prophecy?
System report: All systems operational, if not with some inconveniencies caused by the spreading infection. While locking the CPU from any outside interferences has efficiently kept all systems running, I will not deny that even an Iterator can feel lonely and trapped. Sometimes I do envy my subjects- at the very least they do not know they are trapped.
@yellowldraws 's slugcat colony is HERE

if you could give a single pokemon to each pdude what would you choose?
P1 - Houndoom. Ultra Moon pokedex: Identifiable by its eerie howls, people a long time ago thought it was the grim reaper and feared it.
P2 - Amped Toxtricity. Shield pokedex: This short-tempered and aggressive Pokémon chugs stagnant water to absorb any toxins it might contain.
P3 - Rockruff. Sword pokedex: This Pokémon can bond very strongly with its Trainer, but it also has a habit of biting. Raising a Rockruff for a long time can be challenging.
P4 - Nickit. Sword pokedex: Aided by the soft pads on its feet, it silently raids the food stores of other Pokémon. It survives off its ill-gotten gains.
Redux - Mega Houndoom. Ultra Moon pokedex: Houndoom's entire body generates heat when it Mega Evolves. Its fearsome fiery breath turns its opponents to ash.
Redux's Co Op Dudes - Houndour. Ruby/Sapphire pokedex: Houndour hunt as a coordinated pack. They communicate with each other using a variety of cries to corner their prey. This Pokémon's remarkable teamwork is unparalleled.
Corkscrew - Machoke. Silver pokedex: The muscles covering its body teem with power. Even when still, it exudes an amazing sense of strength.
Movie - Psyduck. Stadium pokedex: Appears unaware and totally vacant. However, if its chronic headache worsens, it starts exhibiting peculiar powers.
Doe - Alolan Persian. Ultra Sun pokedex: In contrast to its lovely face, it's so brutal that it tortures its weakened prey rather than finishing them off.
Royale - Luxray. Pearl pokedex: When its eyes gleam gold, it can spot hiding prey--even those taking shelter behind a wall.
BD - Gliscor. Legends: Arceus pokedex: It glides soundlessly on pitch-black wings and sinks sharp fangs into the throat of its prey. It takes on a look of satisfaction once it has entirely drained its prey of blood.
OD - Mega Gyarados. Sun pokedex: Mega Evolution also affects its brain, leaving no other function except its destructive instinct to burn everything to cinders.
Java - Midday Lycanroc. Moon pokedex: When properly raised from a young age, it will become a trustworthy partner that will absolutely never betray its Trainer.
Novel - Midnight Lycanroc. Ultra Sun pokedex: It has no problem ignoring orders it doesn't like. It doesn't seem to mind getting hurt at all—as long as it can finish off its opponent.

Cold winter: Ghorghor Bey
GHORGHOR BEY
Category: French BD
“Les Chroniques de la Lune Noire », in English « The Black Moon Chronicles », is marketed in France as the “greatest heroic fantasy saga in bande-dessinée”. Wikipedia rather considers it to be one of the main medieval fantasy series of France ; but by common consensus and with modern’s look onto it, it is rather a comic book that fits in the category of epic dark fantasy.
The Black Moon Chronicles was launched in 1989 by a collaboration between François Froideval and Olivier Ledroit, before ending at its fourteenth issue in 2008 – but the series had such a popularity that more issues were released as additional “cycles” or “seasons” ; a second cycle of seven issues from 2012 to 2021, and the promise of a third one to come one of these days… And when I say this series was successful, I mean it WAS a huge success. It stays one of the big names of the French bande-dessinée (the European form of comic-book), to the point it gave birth to two video games in the 90s, to MMORPG in the 2000s, a boardgame AND a miniature game.
And as I approach this series for the first time in my seasonal posts, it would make sense for me to look at its main protagonist, Wismerhill the mysterious half-elf in search of his past and father, who will turn from a naïve young man to a bloodthirsty and cruel warlord-sorcerer, as he is unknowingly used as a pawn and agent by various political, military, religious and otherworldly factions in a vast game of plots and schemes centered around a gigantic empire’s downfall and an ancient prophecy from the gods…
But I will not. Because I will instead focus on one of the secondary characters of the story: Ghorghor Bey.
Ghorghor Bey appears in the story as the leader of a group of dreaded warriors who are known to terrify even the bravest knights and strongest citadels. These bloodthirsty bandits obeying at Ghorghor’s sole and only command are known to roam the various lands of the series’ world, leaving only “ashes and corpses” in their wake – for they do not seek to conquer anything and have no ultimate goal. Ghorghor’s forces simply travel through the land, raiding and pillaging whatever they want whenever they want, and forcing their way wherever they have to go, never taking no for an answer – and since Ghorghor’s army stayed undefeated, no warlord even dares oppose him.
Our protagonist, Wismerhill, and his first and partner Pile-ou-Face, end up imprisoned in a cage by Ghorghor’s army due to an unfortunate series of coincidence – the duo was stealing chickens from a farm, just as Ghorghor’s warriors arrived, for they had recently conquered the village and so by stealing the farmer’s chickens the protagonists were stealing Ghorghor’s chickens. Pile-ou-Face, knowing too well the danger they were in, dreaded Ghorghor and his men, but still decided to play at being cheeky and witty with him, notably by letting Ghorghor steal away his magical swords before teleporting them back to his side, again and again. A trick which angered Ghorghor at first… before making him laugh, and prompting him to enlist the two as part of his band, because he likes men that don’t cower or show fear in the face of danger.
Thus begins the time for our protagonist as a member of Ghorghor’s forces – even becoming his lieutenant after using magic to avoid an ambush waiting for them. Because as it turns out, Ghorghor’s isn’t such a bad guy… He doesn’t like being criticized, is prone to anger and refuses to have his absolute authority discussed, but he is prone to humor, always liking a good jest (though his sense of humor tends to be crude, brutal and unrefined), and he protects and feed his men for as long as they battle for him and don’t drag behind them. Fail to your duty or prove yourself useless, you’ll be punished, but do something good for the troop and you’ll be rewarded. We also discover that Ghorghor’s group seems only to exist for the sole pleasure of having a “good life”, as they enjoy each battle, and mostly invade or “conquer” lands and cities temporarily, just to enjoy all of their food (and women) before leaving for another place. In fact, most of the time when they come up near a city they ask if they can stay for the night or the winter, and people usually accept out of fear despite it meaning they will be plundered – because if anyone refuses them entry to their domain, Ghorghor will just order the doors to be broken down and force his own way inside. Even worse if the owner of the land or city actually threatens or insult him, in which case he will ask his death as a payment – but of course, it is all just funny for him as killing is mostly a good sport. To give you an idea of Ghorghor’s “jokes” – he likes to say “You better knock at the door before entering, to be polite” as he is literally breaking down a door ; or he always offers his personal victims a “game” called “right hand, left hand”. The game? He slams his two enormous hands on each side of your head, and if you can’t avoid them you die with your head crushed. If you escape you win and can keep your life, but nobody ever wins since he never explains the rules… He finds it hilarious.
Oh yes, because I forgot to precise one thing… the reason Ghorghor is so feared. He is not a human being. He is a half-ogre. Which means he is two to three times taller than a normal human being, and three to four times larger (given the comic was taken by different artists, and themselves weren’t always consistent, his size tends to vary from issue to issue). While this largeness is in part fatness (as an ogre he has a monstrous appetite, always eating entire pigs and drinking full barrels of beer for his meals, and the most regular insult he gets from people is “fatass”), it is also a good part of muscles – muscles offering him a gigantic strength. A strength with which he can crush a man’s skull with his bare hands, or even burst open the doors of a city by holding a battering ram ALL ON HIS OWN. As a result he can’t ride normal horses and has to choose from various large and monstrous beasts from long gone pasts – his first one being a sort of spike-covered rhinoceros. He himself is usually seen wearing a large and heavy armor covered in spikes – but he can switch for more comfortable cloth-and-fur clothes when he feasts inside castles.
While the group’s journey goes on without any troubles, Ghorghor’s troop meet their demise as they arrive at the border of the great empire we talked earlier, the empire of Lhynn. Its emperor, clearly seeing Ghorghor’s presence in his territories as a threat, sends to eliminate them a large army of holy knights/paladins known as the “Knights of the Light”. Ghorghor and his men were staying at Kendrhir at the time, formerly the “city of the great wizards”, but that they had completely invaded and taken control of earlier in the series – the Knights of the Light simply surrounded the city and besieged them. Ghorghor (actually influenced by a demon sent by a dark wizard, but no one will ever know that) decides to take the incredibly stupid decision to have his warriors leave the city to fight the Knights of Light in an open-field, resulting in Ghorghor’s troop decimation, and Ghorghor’s own death. Not death by weapons, as he is pierced by at least three dozen spears and yet keeps fighting with his gigantic axe of war (or cleaver of war depending on how you look at it, able to kill several men in one blow) ; but rather by being pushed off a cliff by the Knights.
This is all in issue 1, by the way.
In issue 3, Ghorghor miraculous returns – as the protagonist and a new group of friends went to seek the Oracle (a god of destiny bound to the human world) at his holy site, they find him back well and alive – he himself was seeking the Oracle to know what had happened to his former underlings. As it turns out, Ghorghor had on himself a magic ring with powerful regenerative powers that resuscitated him from his deadly fall… but this, only the narrator and us readers know that. Because Ghorghor ignores everything of the ring’s actual powers, and so he believes he was just a tough guy and that he got better all of his own from his injuries. Promptly Ghorghor tries to form back his band and recruit again his former warriors… only for Wismerhill (who in between got some nasty supernatural powers, a new personal quest to follow and some deadly skills) to actually force Ghorghor into becoming HIS warrior, under his command – first by invoking how Ghorghor’s stupidity led to all of his men dying before, and then by simply beating up Ghorghor into submission. Not that Ghorghor minds, though, as he still considers Wismerhill a good friend of his. And so he becomes one of the faithful companions and allies of our protagonist, and will remain as so for the rest of the series… And it is at this point that the plot really kicks in.

I stop at the three first issues to recap this whole story for a very good reason: the first three issues are kind of their own thing. The duo Froideval-Ledroit were doing a big epic fantasy series for the first time, and so the first three issues were basically them finding their marks, offering a story still kind of in production, trying and testing out new things, just beginning and exploring. Heavily influenced by Dungeons and Dragons, and the You Are the Hero books (in fact the author was part of the French branch of D&D for a while), the story started out as a “picaresque road-trip about a group of characters trying to survive”, before gaining its steadiness and certainty and evolving into a serious story about territorial conquests, power struggles and the politics of an empire. As a result the character reflects that a lot – notably Ghorghor Bey, who was admitted by Froideval himself to have started out as a “punctual” character, who was probably just here for issue 1, but the author enjoyed him and his potential too much and so decided to have him return and become a regular…  And so while the first three issues are much needed to understand who the characters are, how the story starts, who are the powers at play and the plots set in motion, their style is much faster, wilder and humoristic than the following issues – for by issue 4, things get much more epic.
An interesting fact about the Black Moon Chronicles is that the characters have basically no past. It is most true for the protagonist, whose absence of past (and even absence of name, as he is named as an adult, in the first pages of the first issue, by a friend he just encountered in the woods) is a key plot-point of the story ; but in general all of the other characters lack any kind of past. They are introduced, they have their identity, personality, characteristics, but their background seems to be irrelevant for the most part (with this true “old fashioned D&D” and “You are the Hero” feelings of having characters starting out with basic traits and filling up their character as they go along). But the author “compensated” this by producing a spin-off series ENTIRELY dedicated to the backstories and pasts of each of the characters: Les Arcanes de la Lune Noire, in English “The Black Moon Arcana”.
Ghorghor’s very own backstory is told in the first issue of this series, and… I am not going to tell you everything because it is an entire “volume” full (for the French BD, each issue is a “volume”, which is basically a book-full of story, so usually quite bigger than a typical American comic-book issue), but if you don’t fear spoilers, here is the barebone of the story. He was born and raised in a human village by a human family in the northern part of the Lhynn’s empire – his mother had been raped by a young ogre (humanoid gorilla-like savage man-eating beings) during an attack on the village, but she still loved him, and he looked mostly human despite his unusual size and strength. However she was the only one who loved him, as everybody else hated and bullied him, including his mother’s new husband and his own son. After his mother’s death during his teenage years, he snapped at his step-father and step-brother’s abusive behavior and killed them in rage before fleeing in the night. He wandered in the snowy and frozen lands of the north, learning how to hunt and survive, rejected as a “monster” from every human village he tried to stop in – until as a tall and strong young man he encountered a travelling freakshow/circus that hired him and became his new family, teaching him all sorts of other talents such as weapon-throwing or reading. He became their “strongman” as the circus travelled to southern lands and bigger towns, and knew there for the first time romantic and sexual love in the arms of Siamese twin sisters.
Their downfall was however accepting the invitation of a gloomy local lord to play at his castle. Offended at the idea of paying them after their performance, he tried to lock them up away in a dungeon (except for the girls, that his sons wanted to “play” with in their chambers). The troop was barely able to flee the castle, and where hunted down into a cursed swamp filled with the forgotten corpses of an old war – this is where Ghorghor found his trustful battle-axe, and where his twin love found death in the tentacles of an ancient monster haunting the bog. Ghorghor killed the monster, but also swore on his lovers’ grave that he would kill the evil lord that had banished them here and all of his descendants. After escaping the swamp, he left the troop to their own travel, and now clad with the armor and weapons of the corpses of the bog set up on his vengeance. After killing the leader of a group of bandit who tried to attack him, he became the group’s new leader. With his men he burned down the castles of noblemen and plundered the convoy of aristocrats, using all the money to pay for huge feasts that often ended up in drunken vandalism, his fearsome reputation bringing him new recruits every day – and so he became a ruthless warrior, who was only know to spare the occasional travelling circuses he met.
Until he was ready to enact his vengeance on the lord that had caused the death of his two true loves… (Oh yes, and the regenerating ring is not forgotten and also gets its origin in this story).

Sorry about your hand, hope that feels better soon!!
U wanted asks so !!! Been thinking about ur recent geraldoom fic and like. What if they could be happy. How do u think that would turn out? If Maria lives and they can be a weird little family, would they take over the world together? Just go live in a remote location? Or even if Maria does die, would Doom and Gerald being in a relationship save Gerald from succumbing to his grief and messing with Shadows memories? So many questions that I never considered before but now it's all I can think about sjfhfhd
Thanks >_< i feel so dumb but thankfully no fractures or anything!
Oh my god what if. I got so so attached to their weird little family while I was writing that alskakgkalal? Like. They could've been okay. Not good,,, but ok.
Black doom would've been more caring/present than Gerald from the very start, help balance out his parenting a little! And Gerald would eventually start doing the same, unconsciously learning from him that it's okay to slow down and enjoy life. Longterm, I think having a family like that, removed from whatever fucked-up societal pressures the black arms had, could've helped Doom a lot. Maybe enough to make him stop conquering planets.
That said, Doom still wouldn't have been... great? Caring of his kids but SUPER overprotective, and definitely would've forced shadow into the Family Business (tm). Like mafia-style "I don't approve of your partner so I'm gonna shoot him in front of you" overprotective lol
If the raid had still happened... not sure! I could just as easily see them dragging each other down as I could black doom growing concerned and trying to pull gerald out of it. He'd definitely NOTICE the abrupt personality shift and be concerned by it, but he cared about maria too, and hated humanity from the start- he might've been all for it! (Except, of course, killing shadow in the process. He would've had a few problems with that, imo). But, that said, I think BD likes Gerald for who he is, and despite his general shittiness, a mass murderer is not one of those things. Plus, maybe Gerald would've done better generally because he wouldn't have felt so alone and hopeless in the wake of maria's murder.

It’s still Star Wars Day, and I’ve had quite the bug to make some Star Wars OCs of my own! Bios under the read more.
Keelani is a Jawa from a clan on Tattooine, as many Jawas are. The niece of the clan's shaman, she's primed to be the next shaman, thus helping her escape the "second class" living of being a female Jawa. She's lucky there, because she's only very much tolerated by most of her clan. Rather than tinkering and refurbishing items to trade, she prefers the creativity side, something that unfortunately most customers, along with the Jawas of the other clans during the swap meets, don't care for as much. Keelani recently had her "vision illness", with a vision that's hard to piece together. However, once her vision slowly starts to come true, she's going to have to prove herself and go offworld. Thankfully, she has a few new friends on her journey going on. Divot is a young Scurrier that follows Keelani's clan around a lot. Eventually relenting, Keelani made him her pet, giving him his name after his eye marking that resembled a die pip for the titular game. Tenacious and curious, Divot doesn't know the term "stay here", often following anyone wherever they're going. Annoying sure, but he's so cute that sometimes you can't be bothered with that!
K'Rik has had quite some tribulations with his tribe. They were entirely fine with his transition. They're a bit unsure, but accepting, of him deciding to go mostly pacifist. They're pretty weirded out that he chooses to be friends with that Jawa girl. But if they found out that he just learned he's force sensitive? He doesn't want to know what they'd think there! Thankfully, being friends with Keelani might have its benefits! She's going offworld to figure out her vision, so maybe he could follow her to figure out his new abilities? As long as he doesn't have to fight...at least, unless push comes to shove, or they insult his friends. Pallie is K'Rik's bantha, and she is a very very good girl! She's very sweet, if a bit slobbery with her licks, and sure, she stinks, but that's to be expected with a bantha! While others might think of her as a "roadblock" or "an obnoxious odor in a gigantic fuzzball", K'Rik is devoted to his companion. In fact, threatening her is the easiest way to make K'Rik forget all about that "being a pacifist" thing.
Dendara, as to be almost stereotypically expected of her Rodian culture, was raised in bounty hunter training. However, she decided to twist her ideas up. Also a talented tinkerer, she's done quite a few things: got a ship running, got a droid running, and most importantly, managed to supplement her bounty hunter career with remote controlled drones and bombs. Because of her hidden bounty skills compared to confronting her targets, she's surprisingly awkward and geeky, something that shocks her targets...along with Keelani and K'Rik, two unexpected passengers that she's made a deal with to bring to a specific location. Aside from her bounty hunter skills, she's a huge fangirl of the band Halyx and is very driven in creature rights, earning her a membership in the Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts. BD-3L, AKA Beetle, is a BD Unit explorer droid under the ownership of Dendara. Found abandoned on one of Dendara's missions, the Rodian fixed him up to her best ability, and he has proven a very useful ally on her bounties. Being able to handle multiple terrains, he can easily keep up with his owner and help her to access her targets easily. He's a bit shaken by her drones' abilities, but he's kept that to himself. His olfactory sensor is also broken, which is probably a blessing with the cocktail of scents coming from the ship passengers! Catter is a Kowakian Monkey-Lizard and Dendara's co-pilot. Don't let her toxic neon color schemes fool you: Catter is not harmful. But she's also not joyful like other monkey-lizards. She's surprisingly dour and quiet. Rescued during a raid of a testing lab by Dendara, her optimism has been sapped away. However, she's content to be left to pick at things, making her a convenient mechanic and secondary help for Dendara. Warm up enough to see her smile somewhat, and you're sure to be on her good side, though! Fili is Dendara's pet Tooka. Adopted from a shelter, Fili proves to be more of a nuisance than anything else to others. He sleeps where he wants to, he eats what he wants to, and he climbs where he wants to, anyone else around be darned. However, he's wonderful pest control for the ship, and if he's in the right mood, he's a great companion. He learned the hard way that Divot isn't a pest on his menu, a few hearty kicks managed to prove that to him.
