Affordable Luxury is now for real with Uber

Before I talk about the service, let me first tell you that I was not just looking for a taxi to the airport but a comfortable ride to receive Aalia, my wife who was travelling from Varanasi via Delhi (six hrs non-stop flight). I wanted the ride back home from the airport to be relaxed and special for her. Had already registered myself on Uber website and updated my credit card details earlier, as it is their USP: Cashless Cab Service.

My only frustration was unavailability of an official app for the Windows Phone (yep I have a Lumia 920) and limited accessibility to the mobile website. But I found an app that claimed to assist in accessing the mobile site of Uber, took a minute to download. Hesitated at first as it was only two hrs left for flight arrival, I clicked on the app that accessed the mobile website for me and I entered my credentials, to a friendly user interface. It accessed my location almost accurately and with one tap, my cab was booked and before I could exit the app, I got a call from the driver confirming my location. Within minutes the cab arrived, it was like in flash of a second I was on my way to the airport. The Honda Accord that arrived was clean and the chauffeur, a pro. I reached at the Shamshabad Airport in Hyderabad and asked him to park and wait for me, while I went ahead to arrivals. Flight arrived just in time and we were on our way back home in the same cab. It was nice as I was able to talk to my wife and not focus on the road, driving. I would rate Uber 4 out of 5 and strongly recommend their services. They would get 5 on 5 when they give me an option to select the vehicle and that is not far. Go Ahead, try some luxury cab service, its not the usual yellow radio taxi.
