WYNONNA: “Say what?”

CASEY: “As good as I am at navigating the fog, it’s gonna be thick like a deep dish pizza in there and I can’t keep tabs on both of you. Who’s it gonna be?”

WYNONNA/NICOLE: “Obviously me/I’m going.”

WYNONNA: “She’s my sister.”

NICOLE: “She’s my future wife.”

WYNONNA: “Mm. Well, if marrying my sister was legal, I’d have done it already, so check your privilege, hot wheels.”

NICOLE: “Dude, it’s my gear. I know how to work it.”

WYNONNA: “Casey’s my friend. I know how to work him.”

NICOLE: “What does that even mean?”

WYNONNA: “It means we have a mind meld thing happening ever since we cooked chili together.”

CASEY: “For freedom…”

NICOLE: “Okay, stop. I’m putting my foot down.”

WYNONNA: “Stop. I’m gonna put my foot up your ass!”

NICOLE: “It’s my fucking turn, Wynonna! You went into the Garden to save her and I went home, alone. For 18 months, I did it… alone. I’m not gonna do that again. I am doing… this.”

RACHEL: “She’s right. It is her turn.”

WYNONNA:

“Judas.

Alright, fine. But only because we’re wasting time arguing. Strap in, strap on! Get your… stuff! Just save my sister before she goes crazy and rips her own face off.”

I dislike the fact they have made Waverly a damsel-in-distress yet again in the final season. But I like that they’ve played the queer edition of the Princess braves the danger and battle ahead to save the Princess. Because absolutely - it is Nicole’s turn. I also like that after some conflict between them, Wynonna relented because she knows how much Nicole loves Waverly and is desperate to be her saviour this time.

On top of feeling like a failure as the Sheriff of Purgatory and losing the vote, as well as trying to be there for Rachel who had no family or friends anymore and give her a home that was safe and secure, her guilt at not being the rescuer of the love of her life must have been the worst feeling of all to habour.

It’s her turn now to do right by Waverly. Her love.

Note: Officially, in the Crossover Universe, the version of Wynonna Earp is that of her original comic series rather than the TV Show. However, the show is more well-known, and I like it more than the comic, so this is the version I'm writing up. Besides, there isn't much to make the comic version of Wynonna that distinct in the 'bad girl' comic subgenre, and trust me, there will be a lot of those. Still, dates of Birth are given for their comic counterparts. Add 20 years to be show accurate (the comic began in 1996, and the show began in 2015)

Wynnona was always trouble. Being cursed just made it a bit more interesting. She is an inheritor of her famous ancestor's curse. She defends the town of Purgatory and the Ghost River Triangle from supernatural evils (that it attracts), as well as being called out to help in other locations. She didn't want to be 'the heir' but it fell to her and damnit, she's going to do it as best she can.

And it won't stop her from being her rebellious self, either. Mostly to hide from the circumstances that led her to being the heir. That is not something she wants to talk about.

Agent Valdez has been with the BPRD since its inception. She is older than it and has been doing the basic job independently for so long, that she figured she might as well get a paycheck for it. An Aztec princess, she hides her true name to hide from just how many enemies she has made over time. She'd rather get the jump on them when she has the chance.

She has a daughter... She's actually had a few daughters, but her curse and immortal nature means that she usually leaves them with others to take care of. This doesn't stop them from being targeted, but she feels they'd be in even more danger around her.

One of Valdez' Granddaughters eventually was left in Wynonna's care (though Waverly and Haught are the closest Rachel Valdez has to parents).

Waverly is the youngest of the Earps and felt a need to overachieve to stand out after... everything went down. She also felt she needed to be part of the Earp legacy and researched the heck out of it. But... she wasn't part of it. She was part of something else entirely. Wynonna still accepts Waverly as her sister wholeheartedly and part of the family, but Waverly's entire life since Wynonna came back can be summed up as finding her own voice.

When she learned she was 'half angel' (Actually half celestial -- Angels are more for war, celestials are more for bureaucracy), she started to learn how to harness those powers. Though at first, her only 'power' was knocking people out with a touch (Power Level 4, requires touch, quick cast, lasts for 1 turn per SL).

Doc has been many things over the years, including a member of the Venatori Umbrorum back before he made a deal with the Iron Witch to survive his TB. He... ended up being dropped in a well for over a hundred and thirty years. Never dying but remaining and getting quite bored. Wynonna let him out and they've had a thing ever since.

He's slowly adapting to the times, but some technologies still make him nervous. Though he is glad the dentistry is a lot safer.

Doc's immortality is odd. Since it's based on a curse, he cannot die by natural means (such as diseases or the march of time). However, he can be killed with good old-fashioned violence.

When the curse was removed, he ended up becoming a vampire thanks to his ex-wife (who he didn't realize was a vampire all this time). He became a Daywalker thanks to her influence. This grants him the increased stats beyond the slash. The vampirism also allows him to recover his Constitution every hour and have a natural Bite attack that deals 2 x Strength damage (Slash/Stab).

She's a survivor, but she's still a kid to the rest of the ranch.

And when that past is mildly draconic, those are very dangerous bites.

Waverly gets Nicole a cat. Nicole thinks about family and remembers why it's nice to have a cat around. And also why it's a bit stressful.

i enjoy how in the percy jackson fandom whenever the demigods are being drawn they are given outfits and accesories that play homage to their godly parent (e.g nico with ghouly tshirt motifs, percy with shell bracelets) when in canon these demigods are wearing an assortment of shirts and pants that they find at the bottom of a bargain bin at target, whatever that has not been destroyed in the recent war or camp shirt.

A fantastic ending to a fantastic show.

I fucking loved watching it. Oh my god.

Guys I can’t even contain my elation at what I just saw in that final episode: ‘Old Souls’. I’ll try my best to express myself on what I want to say to make it clear how much it meant to me to see that fantastic finale.

THANK YOU, EMILY ANDRAS for seeing us, for caring about us. For representing us sincerely and lovingly. For putting a bulletproof vest on Nicole Haught so she wouldn’t have to die the same way so many of us have when that’s basically been the only ending we ever got. Just death. And cancellation without conclusion. And even more death. That is honestly the first time that I have ever seen myself have a happy ending in TV art/entertainment. And I’m emotional as fuck over it.

For making it very fucking clear that we’re not just collateral damage even if we are a bit fucked up and that we can choose to be heroes and so much more and it doesn’t have to be an either/or situation ever. That we can live our lives for ourselves and each other and there doesn’t have to be any kind of competition because we’re worthy just as we are. Flaws and faults.

But most of all - showing that good and evil can co-exist and for cultivating moral greyness. For giving us hope that dark days don’t stay dark and that old cliche of it’s always darkest before the dawn. And for showing us that there is always a way out of a curse. Life is what we make of it. Not the other way around.

And thank you Dominique Provost-Chalkley for saving all your f-bombs until the very end. I get it now. 👍😂
