This is probably a really dumb question. But is it okay for us non-Jewish people to reblog the very lovely quote about how it's okay not to complete the work, but we're not allowed to abandon it? Because I'm not Jewish, I follow you, and b/c of your posts I've been seeing how really shitty we non-Jews are w/assimilation and stuff, & I don't want to do wrong by anybody. Thanks, Marbles
OKAY SO.
As with all things Jewish, there’s a short answer and there’s a good answer. There also is no “right” answer, because “two Jews, three opinions” is an underestimation of how many opinions you can fit into one Jew, but this is MY answer, and I think a decent chunk of Jews will probably find it at least mostly acceptable.
For those just tuning into this program, the quote @marblesarelost is referring to is my favorite in all of Judaism, and was written by Rabbi Tarfon in a section of Talmud called the Pirkei Avot:
“Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Walk humbly NOW! Do justly NOW! No one is obligated to complete the work, but neither may any one desist from it.”
The “work” being spoken of is to repair the world, or in Hebrew, “tikkun olam.” It’s the central tenet of my movement in Judaism, the Reform movement.
So: you are absolutely correct that there’s a huge problem with gentiles appropriating things from Judaism. However, let’s go back to the original, actual definition of cultural appropriation, as created by Black women: it’s not just that you do a thing we do. It’s that you mock or berate us for a thing, then turn around and take that thing, strip it of all its original meaning, and use it, and suddenly in your hands it’s “cool.” When the concept of cultural appropriation first fell onto my radar circa 2016, one of the major examples was dreadlocks, and how clean, well-kept locs on a Black woman are “unprofessional” and “dirty” but the kind-of-vaguely-looks-like-locs-if-you-get-drunk-and-squint deliberately-created MATS some white people wear and call “locs” are seen as a sign you’re “boho” or “a free spirit.” This was closely followed by discussion of bindis, and how they’re treated with disdain when worn by Indian women but Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande puts one on and suddenly they’re sooooooo chic.
(Yes, in an ironic twist you couldn’t put in a book because people would call it unrealistic, the very concept of cultural appropriation has been appropriated.)
So with the actual, this-is-what-the-Black-community-meant definition in front of you for reference, take a look at these questions. These are rhetorical—anybody with the degree of self-awareness to say “I don’t know if this thing from a closed religion is for me” is probably not doing any of this. It’s just here for reference.
—do you see a problem with “Christian Seders” or do you think Jews should be flattered other people are interested, geez, it’s not like we’re being murdered?
—do you make fun of people wearing skullcaps/kippot/yarmulkes, or do you recognize it’s cultural garb?
—do you get all weird and pissy over the major Jewish holiday season being in fall rather than in winter?
—do you conflate Jews with Israel or do you recognize that these are two separate groups with some overlap?
—do you make fun of Orthodox clothing and hairstyles?
If you can honestly say “no, I realize this is a culture of its own and things I don’t understand aren’t necessarily ‘wrong’ or ‘weird,’ just different,” you’re in a good position to share Jewish voices.
HERE IS WHERE THE CURVEBALL COMES IN.
This quote is from Talmud.
And unlike things like, say….talking about a Seder you were invited to, or saying “may you be sealed” to a Jewish friend on Yom Kippur, the Talmud is not semi-closed, it’s *closed.* People study Talmud all their lives in the hope of gaining even a small glimmer of understanding. It has to be studied in the context of being well-versed in Torah and Jewish interpretation, because removing it from that context renders it entirely incomprehensible.
WITH THAT SAID.
I think this is one of the few places in Talmud where there is, at a bare minimum, a surface understanding that’s applicable to everyone. Certainly Rabbi Tarfon’s words carry additional weight with the force of Jewish learning and tradition behind them, but I’m pretty sure if you could sit down with him and say “Rabbi, your words inspired me to keep fighting for my community. When I was ready to give up your words reminded me I wasn’t alone, that anything I do in the interest of pushing forward justice and equality is a net positive, and I was able to keep going. I’m a gentile. Is it okay that I take this from your words?” he’d almost certainly be like “yes??? As you say, it’s a net positive, so why wouldn’t I be okay with you gleaning this?” It’s slightly different from a lot of Talmudic commentary in that it applies to the mitzvot of things like tikkun olam and pikuach nefesh, but these things can also be done outside the Jewish community without any reference to Torah at all. You can pay for a homeless person’s dinner and that’s tikkun olam. You can take a CPR class and that’s pikuach nefesh (or at least, preparing yourself to commit an act thereof, should it be necessary). You aren’t doing those things as mitzvot, because you’re a gentile—you’re doing them because you think they’re the right thing to do—but that doesn’t mean “don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to do it all, but don’t just give up either” isn’t good advice. We don’t call him one of our greatest sages because he was an idiot. Is there plenty more below the surface? Oh, for sure. Does that make the surface reading wrong? Not necessarily.
So: 99.999999% of the time, I would say you should not reblog Talmudic quotes. They’re not going to be relevant to you or your life experience and you’ll lack the background knowledge to interpret them.
But this one, specifically? Yeah. I’d say this one is okay. Make sure it’s sourced to Rabbi Tarfon and the Pirkei Avot/Ethics of the Father, or to the Talmud.
And then go forth, and do justly now, and remember: you can’t finish the work alone. But you also don’t have the right to walk away.
Okay, fellow Jews, time for a pie fight in the comments. Have fun.

Today, the House of Jean Paul Gaultier is relaunching its ready-to-wear line after a hiatus of six years. It comes 16 months after fashion’s “Maestro of Mehmed”, as journalist Georgina Howell dubbed her in the early ’90s, took her final bow as the brand’s designer, implying that this iteration of its namesake. will not be designed. Instead, the reins are taken over by a dedicated team from their atelier, with help crafted from the rotating doors of some of the most independent designers working today – Palomo Spain, Ottolinger, Nix Lecourt Mansion, Alan Crosetti and Marvin M’Tumo .
Since starting his own label in 1976, Jean Paul has been instrumental in turning underwear into acceptable outerwear, making sailor fashion sexy and, more generally, paving the way for designers to experiment with diverse and unexpected castings on the runway. have been responsible for. He also dedicated an entire collection – AW97 – to the fight against racism. The collection, titled ‘Fight Racism’, featured graphic prints of young anti-fascists with slogans printed on their chests.
In fact, with such a rich history behind it, and vintage JPGs becoming increasingly collectible since the recent renaissance—partly stemming from the Kardashians’ love of all things net—more thanks to the label’s revival. Couldn’t be the right time- the line to wear from now. Although it is a well-known fact that Jean Paul himself decided to step back from the category in 2014 after a somewhat tumultuous feud with Florence Tetier (graphic designer and co-founder). November MagazineNow serving as the brand’s creative and brand director, Ghar is poised to enter the field again. in an interview with WWDJPG’s general manager, Antón Gégy, described the relaunch as an opportunity to “celebrate Jean Paul Gaultier, its values, its archives and its history”. And what better way to raise the glass to the core of fashion? Horrible Instead look at seven of the most show-stopping moments from its most iconic era, the ’90s. Long live Gaultier!

Madonna’s Conical Corset from the Blonde Ambition Tour, 1990
Back in 1989, when Jean-Paul Gaultier was told by an assistant that Madonna had told the audience, she was convinced that he was playing a trick with her. They knew how obsessed he was with her, just could not do be true But she soon found herself on the phone to the original queen of pop, making a match in ’90s fashion heaven. Naturally, Madonna already knew what she wanted: to create something for her that surrounded Jean Paul’s signature masculine-feminine crossover. Inspired by his love of the late ‘queen of Paris punk’ Edwij Belmore, Jean Paul conceived a pinstripe suit – the top of ’80s manhood – and a corset with the now famous conical bra, which he designed six years ago on AW84 had started for. /85.

Eva Herzigova’s cut-out dress, 1992
Thought harnesses were a new thing on the runway? Wrong! After all, you’re not known as a fashionista Horrible Without a sprinkling of kinks here and there, as this look proves well. Presented on JPG’s AW92 runway, this dress, so slick in its fit that clothes can even put on Eva’s body, exemplifies the powerful-yet-playful take on sexuality that serves as a throughline throughout the French designer’s body of work. runs as. Styled with bicep-clad opera gloves and proudly crafting the Czech-Italian supermodel’s bust, there’s a distinctive dome-y tone at play here, though no compromise on the beauty of the silhouette or the quality of the make. It speaks to an ideological throughline that runs through Jean Paul’s work – that no matter who a woman is or wants to be, she always has the right to be chic!

Houndstooth bodysuit inspired by Leigh Bowery, 1991
In an interview with iD in 2018, Jean Paul declared his love for the “London Way”, which means “just creating your own style, your own creativity and being free to do what you want to do”. When he took the idea back to Paris, it wasn’t very popular, but that didn’t stop him from creating his own trademark approach to design. He spent his youth in the 80s at famous London nightclubs such as Blitz and Heaven, where he met performance artist Leigh Bowery. In a nod to Bowery’s influence on fashion, Jean Paul sent down his interpretation of the Leigh Bowery Houndstooth bodysuit—which would later inspire Alexander McQueen for AW09 and Gareth Pugh for SS07.

‘Chic Rabbi’ Collection, 1993
For AW93/94, Jean Paul presented the ‘Chic Rabbi’ collection, inspired by the traditional dress of Hasidic Jews. Models in streamels and black suits danced to the sounds of a violinist who played live on the catwalk. The usual circle of supermodels was there, but Jean Paul also decided to cast someone who visually embodied the cultural context: a man with a big beard. During the ’80s and ’90s, designers were known for their casting choices, pioneering their diversity. “I’m fascinated by strong personalities, people who capture my imagination because they walk well down the street,” Gaultier explained in a 2014 interview. “Showing just one type of girl is a flaw,” he adds, “something I’ve always fought with. One kind of beauty – no. If I show a bigger girl, I’ll always show a younger girl.” will show.” It is now legend that Gaultier once posted an advertisement in a French daily newspaper release Looking for “atypical” models, saying that “facial distortions should not be avoided in application”.

Mesh Tattoo Top, 1993
Back in 1993, the trend Declared this prestigious collection as “a startling vision of cross-cultural harmony”. While we’d be inclined to cringe at the somewhat reasonable look now that Jean Paul drove down the runway for the SS94 (which can actually be read as another nod to Leigh Bowery) it certainly Historical perspective. It also marked the debut of Jean Paul’s iconic mesh tops, which were inspired by a tattoo convention he once found himself spinning around – today, they are some of his most sought-after designs. The collection also includes heavy notes of punk, grunge, and 18th century men’s frock coats made in Jodhpur and denim in the typical JPG style. How did he ever find the place for all this?!

Björk!, 1994
Jean Paul’s celebrity friends don’t start and end with Madonna. A year after Björk’s properly titled debut solo album, First entry, Taking the music and fashion worlds by storm, she appeared on the designer’s AW94/95 show, about a magical train that stopped in a small village somewhere high in some mountains. And what, duh?! As you’d expect from JPG, the show was a mish-mash this time in terms of different styles of traditional arctic costume. The models trotted down the snow-covered runway (which almost tripped Kate Moss), decked out in a hell of a lot of fur, silk, wool, and leather.

Op-Art Inspired Catsuit, 1995
Two women riding a motorcycle hit them. One of them descends and climbs onto a loft at a DJ booth. Jean Paul’s AW95 ‘Mad Max’ Show Has Started. As he was in the middle of designing the costumes for Luc Besson’s famous film fifth element In which Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich fight a mysterious cosmic force, they had science-fiction in mind, which means it was technology and cyber-heavy. The bodysuit inspired by Viktor Vasarelli’s op-art paintings became the show’s most memorable aspect—now made super collectible by Kim K and Cardi B and partly responsible for the JPG-madness we’re seeing on Depop these days. Also on the show was Carmen Dell’Orefice, who walked with a live falcon on her arm and sported ornate football armor that lit up like a circuit board. Really prestigious.

trompe l’oeil torso top, 1995
The next season, Jean Paul took his quest for sci-fi polka dots further, this time translating it into menswear. This time, however, he brought his knack for trompe l’oeil print placement to the table—skills he had previously flexed in the aforementioned Les Tautouzes, and even as early as 1992, when he sculpted the enviable Presented Printed Mesh Top with Toros. The look sported here by Tanel Bedrossiantz is perhaps a little more figurative in its approach, though no less direct is its infrared-style suggestion of what might lie beneath the longtime house muse’s button-down shirt.

JPG Set Sale, 1998
In a promo video for JPG’s new ready-to-wear line, Bella Hadid is wearing a big red ship on her head. In case you didn’t already know, it debuted at the Haute Couture SS98 show, where it takes us back to the Age of Enlightenment. It was a time of scientific progress, the advent of modern capitalism and of course colonialism. The ‘explorers’ were sailing around the world from Europe, ‘discovering’ new lands for them – a ship serving as a nod to the continent’s shameful past. Some say, however, that it was during the Enlightenment that the fashion we know today – as a form of self-expression that can be accessed by the public – first began to emerge, making the historical period a fashion show. became an ideal subject. .

Man Himself!, 1992
Sure enough, to write a list of Jean Paul Gaultier’s most iconic looks from his most iconic decade, and not for the man himself. Indeed, as Florence Tetier spoke to her before the label’s launch, “Everybody knows who she is!” whether it’s his striped Whether paired with a pleated black skirt or, as seen here, a denim vest and a punkish tartan kilt, JPG’s personal style has made her one of the most instantly recognizable designers of our time. Plus, there’s a direct connection between what she wore and what we then saw on the runway. While we may have never seen a proper, French Navy-standard Sailor From the designer, “he’s done a lot of stripes and nautical-inspired pieces,” notes Florence. “It’s really nice to see the link between the way he dresses and the way he designs.” we love you, Jean Paul! The Hits Just Keep On Coming
It feels dismissive to lump multiple deaths together, but we only post so many times per month so here I go. I cannot let any more weeks go by without publicly crying virtual tears for the back-to-back losses of Philip Roth, Tom Wolfe, and Anthony Bourdain. These three didn’t need death to glorify their contributions, but the last month inevitably brings their work to the forefront of our minds. At least Roth and Wolfe were well into their 80s, but at 61, Bourdain went far too young. All so different and unique, yet similarly groundbreaking and provocative, the publishing landscape will never be the same without their ongoing contributions.
Tumblr media
Acerbic Philip Roth, the Pulitzer Prize-winning New Jersey master of the Jewish-American experience, delivered unmatched social commentary. As a secular Jew (and rabbi’s kid, no less), I brought my own personal baggage to Roth’s pessimistic and conflicting approach to Judaism in America. He pushed my buttons and made me reconsider my own feelings about Jewish American identity. Roth’s voice often embodied the stereotype of a self-loathing Jew, but his humor was the kind our culture understood all too well. I saw his effect on the readers around me, from my college professors to the congregants in my father’s synagogue. He was an unparalleled voice who carved a niche all his own.
The Roth essentials: Goodbye Columbus, Portnoy’s Complaint, The Ghost Writer, Sabbath’s Theater, American Pastoral, The Plot Against America, and Indignation.
Tumblr media
Dapper Tom Wolfe had a knack for capturing particular moments in our culture. The white suit was his trademark. His writing style–filled with asterisks, exclamation points, repeating phrases and capitalized words–was equally distinctive. He was a remarkable social observer and satirist, although he stumbled into racist territory on more than one occasion.
I was working at Simon & Schuster in 2004 when I Am Charlotte Simmons came out and remember thinking how odd it was that the author of The Right Stuff has taken on the subject of sex and status and a small-town girl at an elite college. That book was a disappointment and lackluster compared to his earlier triumphs. I admired him for going after something different and the broad reach of his subject material, but it was also a good lesson to me as a developing reader. Even the most lauded and successful writers don’t know what they’re doing all of the time.
Wolfe feuded with his contemporaries, often trading insults with other heavy-hitting authors including John Updike, John Irving, and Norman Mailer. But you don’t have to like him, or his work, to acknowledge that his death is a major loss.
The Wolfe essentials: The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, The Right Stuff, The Bonfire of the Vanities, Radical Chic and Mau-Mauing the Flak Catchers, and The Painted Word.
Tumblr media
Badass celebrity chef and world traveler Anthony Bourdain changed the way we think about our food. He was a complex character and a superhuman force. There are more wackadoodle stories about Bourdain than I can count. He ate the most disgusting-sounding foods by never shying away from delicacies in other countries. He and his production crew got stuck in Beirut in 2006 when the the Israel-Lebanon conflict broke out and translated the experience into an Emmy award. He made the most random cameos in movies and on television. He had his own publishing imprint.
If you’re interested in a different side of Bourdain before his food writing took center stage, Bourdain wrote crime noir, a genre he loved. His crime fiction is actually a good window into the real Anthony Bourdain, and one of his favorite crime novels was The Friends of Eddie Coyle by George V. Higgins, a dialogue-driven tale of thieves, mobsters, and cops on the mean streets of Boston.
Then there’s his love of comics, as evidenced in his now final book already slated for October 2018. Anthony Bourdain's Hungry Ghosts is part horror anthology, part graphic novel, and part cookbook. Who else would know how to mix up that combination?
The Bourdain essentials include Kitchen Confidential, Medium Raw, No Reservations, A Cook’s Tour, and Appetites.
Roth, Wolfe, and Bourdain leaving this world in such rapid succession took my mind in all kinds of directions. It all seemed so surreal and had an impact on the way I’ve been looking at the bookshelves in our store.
My 5-year-old son and I often have profound conversations about life, death, and solar systems as I tuck him into bed at night. This week we talked about the ways that people live on after they die. He’s in the middle of a growing fascination with Michael Jackson, so I explained to him that while MJ is already gone, he’s just getting to know him and that’s the great beauty of lasting art. (Caveat: if this kid doesn’t stop acting out the Thriller video and scaring his sisters I might lose it.)
While the curtain has fallen on further work from Roth, Wolfe, and Bourdain, I’m confident that many readers will be making some new friends this summer with some special guys named Philip, Tom, and Tony. At the very least, I’ll take comfort in the fact that we can still hang out with all they left behind.

The Dreaded Day Of Travel
It’s hard to prepare for traveling with muchas cosas (many things) as we would be traveling home with. Considering our travel to Mexico and everything that happened, it’s not unusual for either of us to feel a bit uncertain about how traveling home would go. Would we have someone to help carry our stuff? If we don’t, can we still make it work? Will Volaris accept Rowley this time now that his rabbis vaccine would be in their 30 day time frame? Will we be able to get back into the US? How will Summer do on the flight?
The great thing about Sayulita is you don’t have to make appointments anywhere. You want a massage? You walk down to the beach and get it. You want to see the vet to get a health certificate to fly and deworming? You just show up and they do it on the spot. No 30 min check up required and an appointment. Of course I did ask if we should make an appointment but the vet said no to just come in when we were ready. It’s not like they would say no, obviously we had to get home and needed to bring our dog lol So we made sure everything was as Volaris required so we could fly home.
To book our flight online it said we would take off at 12:35 pm. But when you click details, the flight time was actually 6:35 pm. Maybe a glitch in their website? We planned our goodbye brunch at Chocobanana with Kristin, Tyler, Noralina, Felix, and the kiddos, went home to nap/pack, and then headed for the airport. If our flight had been at 12:30, well, then, we would have missed it lol but after booking the res, the email confirmation said 6:30 so I was pretty confident about the evening flight.
We got to the airport 3.5 hours early to be safe. They wouldn’t let us officially check in until 4 so we cruised around the airport. it took SO long to get us checked in because of Rowley. We were the first ones there and by the time we were finally done, the line was incredibly long. They needed to review Rowley’s paperwork, make copies, review them again, have us fill out forms, check the weight. It was never ending. Plus we had to pay for the surfboard, get all of Summer’s gear tagged. It was a process. It took 45 minutes to get us checked in. So it’s finally 4:45pm and we are heading to our gate. Things are fine from here, we board the plane, get to our seats, Summer sleeps on me the entire flight. It was SO sweet but my legs were falling asleep, my left butt cheek was hurting, and I was having a hard time breathing with 21 pounds of weight on me and a baby in my belly. We weighed Summer at the vet after weighing Rowley. It’s good to know how much she weighs now haha.
We land, head to baggage claim/CBX Border Crossing. We find guys with the carts to help us with everything. We go to cross the border through CBX but they won’t take Summer without a birth certificate. My expired passport is no big deal. That works fine he says, especially since it expired in 2020. Matt tried to convince them, the supervisor called the Border Patrol but they said no. So we had to turn around and head the exit of the TJ airport, get a taxi to the border, walk across the border, and hope they don’t give us any trouble getting into the US.
We hop in the taxi to the San Ysidro border crossing. He drops us off and surprisingly there is someone to help us carry our stuff. We are shocked and stoked. We get to the mexico crossing and they just need to see that we have ID, they don’t need to check it BUT we lose our guy to help carry our stuff to walk across the final part. I’m excited because I knew with the wagon and the zip ties we brought that we could do it and I had been looking forward to consolidating everything without extra help. Matt was embarrassed. He kept describing us as Beverly Hill Billy but I don’t get embarrassed easily. I was completely stimulated. I had never walked across the border. It was all new and exciting for me-- until we got into San Ysidro and that was SCARY. More on that later.
So we get into the US Border, we get in line, it was a nice mexican/american lady. I think that was helpful. Women LOVE Summer. Even this woman, who questioned how an 18 month old didn’t have a. birth certificate, couldn’t help but comment on how beautiful Summer is with her red hair. She questioned us a little bit but not for long and then let us go. So the only difficult part was not being allowed to cross through CBX.
We get out of the building and need to get a ride home. It’s super sketchy in this area. Tons of drug addicts walking by, dark, scary. We sign up for an Uber XL, he’s 13 minutes away. The cop makes us move down the street so we aren’t on trolley property, Summer is crying because she’s thirsty. Matt runs to jack & the box to get water and leaves us alone on the street. That was the scariest part. I was just getting ready to duck incase gun shots went off. lol read to kick if someone came up with a knife. I was on high alert.
Our Toyota Highlander finally arrives. He said he didn’t think our stuff would fit. And to be honest, it didn’t. We left the stroller in the trash. It was the old, dirty, used Bob that I got on offer up that we all hate. It was nice to have in Mexico but I never want to use it again lol Once in the car the driver told us that if we didn’t have a baby and if I wasn’t pregnant, he wouldn’t have taken us!!! We were the fifth passengers in his brand new car that he did not want scratched up with our surf board, suitcases, dog crate, wagon, etc.
Our house in La Mesa is booked on airbnb until Feb 2 but our other property in Mission Hills is open for a few nights, Of our three properties, the mission hills home is the only one that I actually own. And I’ve never stayed in it, so it’s been fun to stay here, use the hot tub, enjoy the space! When we bought it, it was a flip, and we bought all of the staging furniture, as well, so it’s a really beautiful and modern home. The decor, the pillows, everything is so chic.
We put Summer down at midnight america time which is 2:00am mexico time. She slept until 4:45 american time so 6:45 mexico time. Not bad. We went to lazy acres for breakfast, got some groceries, Matt took Summer on a walk to balboa park. No stroller so back in the wagon for her. She went down at 9:40 am. I have been blogging, chatting with my dad, unpacking suitcases. It’s been a nice morning.
This afternoon we are signing our loan docs for the refinancing and hopefully heading to la mesa to get our car and stroller! woohoo! I hope Summer sleeps until noon!!! It’s 11 am now. Fingers crossed!!! She needs to catch up so we can get back to a normal sleep schedule!
Well, that’s the end of our travels. I still need to finish the previous blog post but THANK YOU to everyone who came along on this journey with us!!!!
I probably wont be blogging much until October when we plan to move to PALM BEACH FLORIDA for a few years while Matt starts a new pool business, invests in airbnb properties. We’ll see!! More to come from our new nomadic lifestyle!
Love you all! XO

We’ve sampled a few unsolicited reviews from our clients we hope you will find helpful
As of this publishing, not even a single escort from our agency has received a bad review from a client. This tells you that we make good on our promise to give you the best experience in the whole of New York. Take a look at what our satisfied customers are saying about our Asian girls;
Review for Ada- By Oliver (Ollie)
Girlfriend experience doesn’t get any better than a night out with Ada. I would definitely recommend her to anyone out there seeking to experience what I experienced with her. She turned up to our meeting on time in a partially revealing dress and classy high heels, and for a moment, I felt like I went for someone way out of my league. True, she was waaay way out of my league, but she made me feel adequate and worth it. I won’t get into the details of the night but, daaamn that was time and money well spent! See you, New York, till we meet again! And thumbs up Asianparty Girl Escortnyc!
Review for Betty- By Dewey
Betty is definitely a 5-star girl! To be honest, I had my doubts about this choice having been burnt by a different agency some time back, and so I wouldn’t have been surprised if it happened again! Betty was everything I had hoped she would be. She was easy to talk to, had a bubbly personality you would think we had known each other for years. Her eyes! She can totally seduce you with her eyes alone and close the deal with her big firm breasts! I’ll call again, that goes without saying.
Review for Alani- By Marsh
I asked Alani to wear the lingerie she’s donning in her profile, well, she did, but it was black this time, and it was even hotter! That girl can striptease…I haven’t tried many escorts before; therefore, I’m not the perfect guy to give a recommendation, but if it’s worth anything, I recommend Alani a thousand times!
Review for Olivia- By Rick
Great service! Olivia is undoubtedly the best girl Asianparty Girl Escortnyc has to offer! She knows her trade well, she arrived early, asked if she can use the bathroom, and a few seconds later she threw me her g-string and asked if I can join her in the shower! You bet I hoped in their as quick as I could get. I recommend Olivia for anyone that wants to hook up with a lustful Asian chic that is not complicated at all!
Review for Aimili- By Randy
Aimili is perfect! She’s lively, neat, and never condescending at all like the first girl I tried from some conny agency in San Francisco! I really enjoyed my time with Aimili, hope our paths cross again!
Review for Isabella- By Kristian
Isabella is charming and very easy to talk to. She’s experienced; I leaned back and had her take the lead. It was one of the most memorable escort experiences thanks Asianparty Girl Escortnyc for making it possible. I can’t really recall the name of the guy that recommended Isabella (from your support), but hey, if you can read this- you nailed it, I’ll be calling soon!
Review for Emma- By Seth
Hey Emma, I’m already planning for the next time. You were terrific and so nice to me. I experienced eroticism on a level I haven’t before. Thanks for broadening my sexual horizons. It was really nice knowing you. See you soon girl!
Review for Madison- By Xander
Madison you made my last day in New York worth the stay, and I wished I had known you earlier my three weeks’ stay would have been much better! Your sense of humor is impeccable for a stranger, and I know I’ll be starring on my ceiling soon with my eyes dimmed fantasizing about you beside me. That was one hell of an escort service!
Review for Aaliyah- By Sam
This was one rendezvous to remember! People, those breasts and ass are as real as they get, I would totally recommend this girl to anyone including my Rabbi! She is so realistic; we held a lively conversation like we’ve known each other for so goddamn long. She loves her job and I was surprised that she had a successful modeling career be she enjoyed spending her time in escort. Aaliyah is inspirational as much as she is sexy and absolutely delicious!
Review for Abigael- By Tor
Escort services are often a gamble for me and I wasn’t expecting much from Abigael but I was totally misguided. Asianparty Girl Escortnyc you have one hell of an asset, treat her right! Abigael is easy going, sexy and an excellent humorist. I think we ended up talking than we did anything else. She’s fun, the girlfriend I’ll never have! I recommend this girl to anyone looking for the best girlfriend experience around New York!
Review for Lilly- By Parson
New York can be quite hectic, but returning to your hotel room to find Lily is everything to look forward to. I had Lily for three straight days, and when I look back, they were the best 3 days I’ve ever spent in New York. On our last days, we had dinner at a joint she recommended, and I loved the whole experience. I’ll miss when you would take a nap on my bare chest, and we would lie there like the world had stopped to watch us be happy! You have my five stars, Lilly. You are totally worth it!
Review for Kayla- By Che
Kayla gave me an experience tailored to my kinky needs and the least I owe her is a glowing review. I’ll just go ahead to say that I strongly recommend Kayla to anyone looking for a fine Asian girl to blow some steam with. She’s nice, respects boundaries and damn hot naked. My biggest fear was to find out that she wasn’t whoever I saw in her profile but to my delight they were the same damn hot Asian girl. Kayla is a real gem; book her before she’s taken!
Review for Sofia- By Patrick
I’m not proud of it but the truth is that I’m not generally a people’s person and I thought that I’ll just finish my business with Sofia and she’ll be on her way to the next assignment. Well, now I realize that I underestimated her charm and how easily she can get you to open up to matters. She’s a good listener and although I knew that she was just doing her job, for a while it felt like I was speaking to someone that cared and wanted the best for me. She is really human, call her if you want someone cool you can have some wonderful time together!
Review for Leah- by Travis
Asianparty Girl Escortnyc- you’ve definitely won my heart with your service. I recommend the agency for being straightforward and making good on its promises to deliver hot Asian escorts. I also recommend my date of two days- the lustful Leah! She lived up to the hype on her profile. I took her to dinner and she was really classy before getting back to my place where I devoured those breasts you see on her profile and I can tell you that the whole thing was a total success and I would do it again given the chance.
Review for Emma- By Randol
Emma was super cool and exciting to be around. She is charming with a terrific sense of humor. She made me feel comfortable, especially when she learnt that she was my first escort. We ended up talking about her experiences; she helped me open up about my insecurities and reminded me that I could do anything I always wished to try with her. It is really nice finding someone that digs you in this manner. Emma is a one of a kind escort; I’ll do her again and again whenever I’m in the mood!
Review for Hailey- By Kim
Hailey, if other girls I try after you don’t match the experience you gave me then thanks for ruining everyone else for me! It was a magical experience the one day we spent together; I wish it never ended so quickly but at least I have a story to tell and a girl to recommend to my friends and anyone in New York looking for an Asian hottie to spend some quality time with.
Review for Ella- By Abdulla
Ella was my first escort after 4 years of boycotting escort services after one terrible experience and finally realizing that man cannot live on one girl alone! I must admit that Ella and Asianparty Girl Escortnyc restored my lost enthusiasm for escorts. I can’t quite tell if Ella was exceptional as I felt or it is the years of withdrawal that had brought that feeling of utmost satisfaction. Nonetheless, it doesn’t change the fact that I had a wonderful time with her and would call her again the next time I’m charge up for some escort services.
Review for Aimili- By Stefan
I will definitely give another encounter with the lovely Aimili another try. Her overall outlook was exceptional and I wouldn’t mind a next time with this beauty. She is lustful in real life than she looks in her photos and I say that in the best possible context. She makes you feel comfortable around her. Her charm is intoxicating; to be sincere I would book Aimili again given the chance. Bravo Asianparty Girl Escortnyc, you’ve really picked up on our interests! Good service!
Review for Emma- By Nillan
Honestly I was drawn to Emma’s profile by her big inviting titties and the slutty posture she just pulled in the couple of photos in her gallery. She is even naughtier in real life than she is in the pictures. I say this without fear of contradiction that Emma is the best stranger company you can ask for in New York. She’s knowledgeable and charming- her people skills are on another damn level! Emma changed my perspective on escorts for good, and I’m really glad I booked her. Asianparty Girl Escortnyc, you are the best!
Review for Betty- By Jade
Betty is polite and respectful for an escort! I really enjoyed our time together and will definitely recommend her to anyone looking to have the same experience I received!
Review for Sofia- By Drew
Well, this is my first review for an escort and it had to be for Sofia. She is gorgeous, easy going and a real wizard between the sheets. Sofia gave me the best service I’ve ever received from an escort and I’ll be down for the same experience the next time I’m in NY! The whole service was smooth, from booking to delivery- the folks at Asianparty Girl Escortnyc really know their craft!
Review for Hailey- By Remmy
If you are looking for a playful Asian girl with a really nice personality then I recommend Hailey. She gave me the best girlfriend experience of my life and the least I owe her is a five-star rating! Hailey is the real thing people, she’s worth every dime and time spend on her. If I had to redo the whole thing I would still choose her!
Review for Aaliyah- By Thom
It was nice knowing you AAliyah, you are the easiest-to talk to stranger I have ever encountered. Thanks for showing me some good time!
Review for Lily- By Jerome
Asianparty Girl Escortnyc is the best high end Asian escort agency in New York, take my word for it I have sampled a couple. They are straightforward in everything; they give you timely updates on the status of your “delivery” you will love how this agency carries itself. Lily was suggested by the agency and she never disappointed. I loved everything about her!
Review for Ella- By Cleo
I was craving some hot Asian bimbo and boom, Asianparty Girl Escortnyc sends Ella to my hotel room. The whole experience was a success- Ella was everything my promiscuous ass needed! Wonderful service, totally worth the try!
Review for Sofia- By Tim
I have a strong foot fetish and my girl is not much into these things but I love her anyway. I called Asianparty Girl Escortnyc and asked them to arrange a girl that can indulge my fetish and they sent Sofia. I’ve never had my feet rubbed so gentle and skillfully like Sofia did. She knows her craft so well we ended up exploring things I never thought I was into. I’ll be back for a rematch that’s a promise!
Review for Kayla- By Harold & Janet
My girlfriend and I have always wanted to try a threesome and this is not something we would just tell our friends! So we’ve been planning this for a while now and I suggested getting an escort so that if the experience goes south no one will need to know. We called Asianparty Girl Escortnyc and they sent Kayla who was what we had anticipated and even more. Kayla was the perfect match for a beginner’s threesome. We let her steer the whole thing and it was the best sexual experience we have ever received. I’m treating my girl to Kayla for her birthday, she doesn’t know this yet!
Review for Olivia- By Eddie
Her waist fitted perfectly in my hands, and you can already tell that it was one of those moments you never wish ends. Olivia is an enthusiastic lover, I really enjoyed my time with her and I’m hoping she did to. She is nice, lively; she even taught me a few moves when I sought her opinion. Asianparty Girl Escortnyc never disappoint!
Review for Madison- By Ben
Of all the escorts I’ve tried in my time I love Madison the most. She is the complete package when it comes to glamour, naughty, and practical social skills. I went down at the hotel lobby to pick her and no one would have suspected we just met. She smiled when I signaled it’s me she was waiting for, gave me a tight hug and held my arm to the elevator. Yeah, we kissed in the elevator I guess she was equally horny! Long story short, I will be calling back for a follow-up encounter!
Review for Isabella- By Nimoy
Isabella comes in overflowing eroticism! She was calm and composed when we met; for a minute I thought I had booked me the dullest Asian slut in town. Anyway, we went for dinner and she was shaping up to be the girl I had seen in her profile. She was warm and a little vulgar like I wanted. She walked to me at diner whispered that her panties was killing her and she was going to remove them in the restroom and will be back in a few. I was having the urge to follow her and maybe steal a quickie but I choose to stay. She came back and we were headed to my room where she turned up the naughty, and there I was hooking up with the baddest Asian girl in New York! She is the real deal; book her before I do it again!
Review for Leah- By Chris
Leah is luscious behind closed doors and a terrific conversationalist you can never get bored with her around. We spent the entire day together, visiting different places. She knows the city quite well especially all the interesting joints. After an exciting tour we headed to my place and had the most thrilling encounter I definitely live to remember.
Review for Ella- By Tobi
Ella was totally worth my time and money. She has a warm personality, quite light-hearted- she made me feel like I was her long lost friend and we had so much to catch up. I once had an escort that asked so many personal questions that I felt like I was in the interrogation room at the NYPD. This was not the case with Ella, although she chatted a lot, not once did she overstep and try to pull personal information from me. I enjoyed the naughty and professional balance Ella displayed. If you love your privacy but still one someone fun to be around, Ella is your girl!
Review for Abigail- By Jake
There’s nothing arousing like a girl that can striptease so well! Abigail is one hell of a stripteaser, and for that I give her a five-star rating, she’s totally worth it! Well I never wanted to get much into her professional background the same way I would never have given out personal information, but my best guess is that she’s been a stripper once or she currently is! She made me feel like I was being entertained by the finest stripper in the club. After the steamy treat, we stayed in bed and talked about everything we were both comfortable engaging in. She appreciated the little tip I gave her afterwards, of course after paying her fee in full and told me that she couldn’t wait for another encounter. I was sold, and will definitely be back for more!
Review for Ada- By Anonymous
I had the best experience ever with Ada! She is exactly what she says in her bio. I really enjoyed how good she was with her craft- I felt like I could get comfortable with this kind of life. Ada gave me one calming massage I won’t be forgetting soon. Her fingers are electric; the effect was almost instant. While I was still savoring the magical experience she was already opening my fly and before I knew it my d*#k was soaking in her mouth. Ada is spontaneous, and very sure about what she’s doing! Satisfaction is guaranteed with Ada- she’s a keeper!
Review for Alani- By Jason
Alani is bratty, and she doesn’t try to suppress that side of her, not one bit! She loves her naughty-self and she expresses it in her performance. We were chatting back and forth while headed to my room and from nowhere she asks that if I had one wish only for the night what will it be? I said I’d have a blowjob. Well, we got to the room, she pinned me against the door, hurriedly lowered my pants and gave me the steamiest blowjob I have ever received. We had the whole night together and I was already thrown off balance. I let her take the lead for the rest of the night and I was never disappointed. Of course I’d recommend her to you, although I would love to keep her to myself.
Review for Betty- By Theo
What an outstanding service by the Asianparty Girl Escortnyc! Thanks to this agency I had some of my wildest fantasies acted on by Betty. Betty is sassy, a beautiful lady that’s damn good with her body! She’ll easily get you nutting all over the place with her mere touch. There’s a way she caresses you so gently, softly running her fingers over your whole body and taking her sweet time on your favorite spots. After the whole erotic thing we took a walk in the beautiful New York night. It was magical- the whole thing! I would totally do this again and again. Try her, she’s the complete package!
Review for Emma- By Hard
Talk of an experience to remember and my encounter with Emma was definitely one! I didn’t choose her; the agency did when I told the guy in charge that I just need a soothing experience with the liveliest girl available. Emma was their recommendation, so I checked her profile up and I was sold on seeing her boobies. I get turned on by a nice rack and Emma’s was perfect. She arrived for our meeting in time, very classy in her looks; we had dinner and rendezvoused to my room where I had my first sexual encounter with an Asian babe. It was amazing and I’m wondering why I waited that long! This agency lives up to its hype, and if all girls are like Emma then there’s obviously going to be a next time for me!
Review for Ada- By Winston
I was drawn to Ada’s ass and waist! I zoomed in multiple times like the pervert I am and I was convinced that Ada was the girl I wanted to spend my time with. Asianparty Girl Escortnyc was quite helpful in the whole thing. They made most of the arrangements as I sought not to be involved- I value my fucking privacy! We met with Ada at one of the hotels the agency suggested. I was never screened so much they normal hotels do, I guess they’d been told that I needed to stay anonymous and so I never had to show my ID. We checked in, conducted our business and off she was- sexually gratified and paid in full! It was a great experience for the both of us.
Review for Ella- By Smirch
Ella looks innocent, and somehow a little shy in person. Well, I loved that in her because it made me feel like I was experienced enough to teach her a thing or two. Admittedly, I read her wrong because the cards were turned and I was the one learning from the fountain of her “knowledge”. Ella is a totally different level of naughty behind closed doors- an excellent companion guaranteed to give you the best sexual encounter of your life. I don’t really know whether I should say this here that there’s a way she gives head, so damn effective- good luck struggling not to cum in the first 10 seconds, I know I managed 15!
Review for Aimili- By Steve
Aimili is an outstanding girl and I would definitely call her again! She is quite the entertainer and one hell of a conversationalist as well. I really enjoyed my time with Aimili!
Review for Sofia- By Randy
I was so comfortable around Sofia; I guess it’s because of her great personality. She is easy going and quite straightforward. She tells you upfront the things she is comfortable with and you can have a good time without stepping on each other’s toes. I really enjoyed the roleplaying bit; she made me experience so many fantasies I’ve been dying to try for quite some time now! I only booked her for a few hours because I wasn’t sure of the experience I was to get, plus I never wanted to be stuck with someone I didn’t fancy. Well, eventually I felt like I should have hired her for the entire day or two! It was really fun!
Review for Kayla- By Jim
Kayla is an outstanding model with every quality any man would be lucky to experience. She carries herself with dignity and self-respect you wouldn’t expect to see in an escort. She is strictly professional- she knows her place and she never crosses. She’s quite adaptive, I asked if she would be willing to be our third- me, my girl and her- she laughed and said “at an extra costs.” That was a yes and I’m gonna take her up on this someday! Meanwhile, she’s all yours- you’ll never be disappointed.
Review for Olivia- By Roy
I’ve always had a rough time opening up to a girl I like because I’m an introvert, and I wouldn’t take the risk to put my fragile self-confidence in the line. Some years back, a close friend suggested I try escorts which I did. I’ve had my fair share of disappointments during the time but Olivia was not in the list. First she’s drop-dead gorgeous with an easy going personality. She can engage in a conversation about anything, well except one about her private life. Olivia is damn good behind closed doors. I still wish it was possible for us to be exclusive because I felt that we had a strong connection in the few hours we spent together. I would jump on another opportunity to hang out with this model. Asianparty Girl Escortnyc must be proud of her!
Review for Madison- By Martin
It might be my first time using the services of the Asianparty Girl Escortnyc, but I know a good agency when I see one. This is about my fifth year using escort services. Believe me when I say that there are really crappy services out there, and finding one agency that actually cares about customer satisfaction is a huge deal! Asianparty Girl Escortnyc was quite efficient in arranging my meeting with Madison and for once I never feared for my money even when it was my first time hiring one of their girls. Madison was everything her profile said, plus the praise her agency showered her with. She was stunning, and had the best attitude for the job I never had an issue with her the entire time!
Review for Ada- By Luca
Asianparty Girl Escortnyc is the real deal when it comes to exemplary escort services around NY! It is the second time I’m using their service and I have never been let down. Well, the first girl I booked from this agency who was really amazing was already booked and so the agency gave me Ada and assured me that I will be treated to about the same experience. Of course, I had my doubts but by the end of the day I was one satisfied customer with nothing but praise to my girl Ada and the Asianparty Girl Escortnyc fraternity!
Review for Isabella- By Hope
I make it my habit to review every escort I ever experienced, and I have written pretty nasty things about mediocre services I received from certain agencies within New York and other cities. It was my first time with the Asianparty Girl Escortnyc and I kept my expectations at an average. Long story short, Isabella was totally worth my time and you can as well book her for a wonderful time. She is good with people; she even impressed me which is a big deal considering I have always had a terrible perspective about high-end escorts.
Review for Lily- By Richie
I always felt that escorts were glorified prostitutes who never have much to offer but mediocre services for very exorbitant rates. I must admit that I was wrong after trying Lily following a friend’s recommendation. If they are indeed escorts are over glorified, it is because they are different and worth every praise that comes their way. Lily was good influence to my earlier misinformed prejudgment against escorts. She was hot, classy, and professional. She took her job seriously and she was genuinely concerned about my satisfaction. She was constantly asking if there’s anything she could do to make me feel more comfortable and a good blowjob always did the trick. I’ll be sampling more girls from Asianparty Girl Escortnyc and leaving my recommendation, but before that I need a second round with Lily!
Review for Leah- By Frankie
This agency is dope! My all experience with them was smooth; I picked my girl Leah, I was told the earliest we would meet, I picked a place I was comfortable with and Leah was there on time. She’s a neat woman, mature but very playful when you break the ice and she can freely open up. We laughed, debated and had a generally good time. I will love to see Leah again soon!
Review for Sofia- By Blake
I will visit this agency again and I’m likely to recommend it to my friends too. They paired me with Sofia and frankly, she is not what I expected! Like any normal person that has been bitten once, I was shy and skeptical about this pairing but I followed through regardless. Sofia opened my eyes to so many sexual kinks and even took the time to actualize some of the fetishes of my youth. It was a pleasure spending the night with Sofia!
Review for Ada- By Elliot
Today would have been my 7th anniversary with the girl I thought I would walk down the aisle with before she ditched me for some dumb motherfucker. I’m still hurt, and so I felt like a sexy Asian Escort would make things better now that it was an anniversary I was used to celebrating before it turned into a bitter memory. I picked Ada for the job- when we met I told her my story and she proposed we do the things that the bitch that walked away never had the guts to. Long story short, Ada gave me my first 69, and generally the best sexual experience of my life. I’m convinced I got her orgasm as well. It was awesome!
Review for Betty- By Jake
Betty is a wonderful girl anyone would be lucky to have! She gave me the best girlfriend experience, we met my sister in Manhattan who bought the lie that she was my girlfriend of 7 months now and we are planning to move in together. I had to cut the meeting short because they were getting along so well and I feared they might organize a girl’s night out which I was pretty sure I was going to be billed for it. She’s a nice girl, so easy to be a round, she made me feel good the whole time!
Review for Abigail- By Ryan
Abigail is the most beautiful and easy going Asian chic I have ever met and I really wished we met under different circumstances. I enjoyed her company more than I thought I would. She is respectful, professional but naughty in the inside. We had a wonderful time in my bathtub although we spend a great deal of time just seated there and savoring each other’s naked bodies. It was blissful and I would totally do it again!
Review for Alani- By Jasper
Asianparty Girl Escortnyc is really consistent in its service delivery! 3 months ago I had one of the best escort experiences courtesy of the same agency. Now her I was enjoying the company of Alani, inarguably one of the agency’s best models if you ask me. Alani is lewd and can build up such an appetite for sex if you are good at what you are doing which is easy because she’ll give you some practical hacks if you ask. She is a private person who says little about her real self. She might come out as a little shy but that quickly fades when the door is closed from the inside. She is a terrific model you should try her!

A Letter to Myself
BLOG POST 4
Growing up, I didn’t come from a family where everything we did had a life lesson. Thank god. (Although there were a lot of educational vacations. That’s a whole other post though.) And while I was raised Jewish, we were not a religious family by any stretch of the imagination. That being said, one of the books I remember most vividly from my childhood, was a classic Jewish parable called It Could Always Be Worse! At the time I don’t think I quite grasped how quintessentially Jewish the title is. I can literally hear my Grandma Clara saying it in her Yiddish accent while she mushed my tush. But I digress.
The story is about a man who lived in a small house with his wife and several children. He felt paralyzed and overcrowded by his circumstances and finally went to the Rabbi for advice. The Rabbi told him to go home and bring a farm animal into the house. A week goes by and the man returns to the Rabbi, saying he feels even more cramped now. The rabbi tells him to add yet another animal. This goes on and on for weeks with more and more animals loaded into the house. Eventually the Rabbi says to remove all of the animals from the house. Once they are out, the man is ecstatic. He feels like he has a whole new home and now sees his situation in a new light. He is appreciative for all he has. It could always be worse.
Tumblr media
I’m sure the relevance of this story’s message to our current situation is not lost on you. So, in keeping with remembering that things could always be worse, I have tried to write an honest letter to my future self, post corona apocalypse. So I can remind myself of what I’ve learned and what I already have in my life.
April 13, 2020
Dear Post Corona Gwen,
Well, you did it! And you look AMAZING. I’m so glad you decided to start doing online dance classes, and running. Or at least running to online dance classes.
I wonder what it’s like on the other side. I wonder what you’re like on the other side. I would imagine, knowing you the way I do, that you haven’t changed all that much. I think you will appreciate your friends and family a bit more. You might shop a little less (Just a little though. Don’t forget about that super cute Juliet Dunn dress in your Matches shopping bag.)
Tumblr media
But the one thing I’d like you to reflect on, is your perspective on having it all. I know it’s something you think about a lot. And everyone has a different definition of what ‘having it all’ means. To you it’s about balancing a successful full time job and the time you spend with your family and friends. But on top of that you look for praise and acknowledgement that you also somehow find time to cook (sometimes), entertain, manage schedules, work out regularly, have a side hustle and still keep up with ALL the Netflix and even some of the books and podcasts too.
I have no doubt that you will still want all of that now as life returns to normal. But, instead of always rushing to the office for an important meeting, remember it often works just as well to do it from home. And if that makes things easier for you, don’t sweat it. Because if you hadn’t been at home all those months, you might not know that Otis really needs to practice his cello. And that he’s an amazing football/soccer goalie! Not to mention, you’re actually pretty good at football yourself, even in jeans. Chic.
Tumblr media
And Izzy is so confident and natural on his skateboard. So next time he asks to ride it to school, just cool your jets and let him, instead of stressing out about it making you late. Remember that having it all, isn’t just about you. To have it all, is for you to have a happy family. And when you’re stressed or putting too much pressure on yourself, they feel that.
Tumblr media
Having it all is also not just a list of things to check off. Spending time with your family is more than being in the same place at the same time. You have so many friends that live all over the world. A lot of whom it’s taken a pandemic to reconnect with. Don’t just talk about your friends. Talk to them.
And Adam. I know his chewing is super loud and annoying. We’ll never truly understand what goes on inside of there.  But yes, I think at some point in the last ten years he had a mini megaphone installed in his mouth just to irritate you. That said, remember that you never felt closer than when you were forced to spend every single second of the day together in unprecedented circumstances. It was no longer a competition over who had done more or who hadn’t done enough. You just shared the load and got on with things. Appreciating each other. Except that time when you cleaned all the toilets in your house of three pee and poop stain blind boys. You keep that one in your back pocket for a rainy day.
Tumblr media
You loved having every meal together as a family. And Higgins loved it the most. That dog eats so much more when he’s not starving himself with separation anxiety.
Anyway, you get the idea. I really hope you continue some of the thing you were forced into, now as life adjusts back to normal. That you remember what you’ve learned about yourself and what you’ve learned to appreciate. But, Gwen, if you remember one thing, please let it be this. Pandemic or no pandemic, drinking alcohol and eating carbs every day makes your face fat. Knock it off.
Love Always,
Corona Gwen
P.S. I almost forgot. When you’re hormonal, maybe take a break from the old Insta. It doesn’t matter what anybody else is achieving (or saying they’re achieving). You’re doing great and I love you. And maybe that is having it all!

Dolyn and Zachary envisioned a wedding filled with love and celebration in a rustic chic setting. To set the tone for their day, the couple worked with our Manhattan store to create their Alder inspired wedding invitations. Botanical elements throughout the suite nodded towards their Stonover Farm venue. They opted for a monochromatic color palette in Vine letterpress ink which kept all pieces consistent as well as clean. They freed their set of any script accents by using a serif font throughout instead. After the invitations are sealed and delivered, it’s time for the party to begin! Finally, we will let the couple take it from here to tell us more about their big day:
Tumblr media
Q: HOW DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR INVITATION DESIGN & INK COLORS?
A: I knew that I wanted our wedding to have green and white florals early on. I’m not a huge fan of bright colors and I wanted to compliment the beauty of our Berkshires venue. At our first invitation meeting, I instantly fell in love with a design that was similar to our website, then we just made a few edits to fit our aesthetic. One of our favorite elements was our details card. It felt super unique and was such a fun way to include all the information for our events (welcome reception, wedding, and brunch) in one place. Our suite really spoke to our whole “rustic chic” aesthetic. It wasn’t too formal, but still had a simple elegance to it and felt like it really fit our venue.

Q: CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A BIT ABOUT YOUR WEDDING AND YOUR INSPIRATION FOR THE EVENT?
A: The most important thing to us is that our wedding is fun and filled with love. My husband and I went to college together and still have a tight-knit group of friends from school who all love to party together. So we set out to make a weekend-long celebration with that in mind. We had a welcome cocktail party with lobster rolls, tacos, sushi, and old-school ice cream cups. It was a casual vibe filled with tons of hilarious speeches and great mingling to kick off the weekend. On Saturday we didn’t want anything to feel too formal. We had energetic music as we walked down the aisle – everyone was cheering and having fun. Our band kept everyone on the dance floor – where we did the limbo, my husband crowd-surfed, and the barn floor shook. The aesthetic was “rustic chic” – which, to us, meant a combination of casual and elegant. Even though our main goal was to have fun, we still wanted it to feel like a wedding and have some of that traditional decor.

Q: WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR COUPLES CURRENTLY PLANNING A WEDDING?
A: Use Instagram as inspiration! I found almost all of my vendors (and even my venue) there…including Bella Figura. Give yourself plenty of time to search around and allow yourself to go down a rabbit hole. Maybe find a venue you like and figure out which florists, photographers, or planners created the content you love. Collect photos of weddings you love so that you can present them to your vendors and are able to clearly define the vibe you’re going for. If you start thinking about what’s important to you and what aesthetics you respond to early (even before you get engaged) – then you won’t feel rushed into making decisions.

Q: WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT?
A: We had two very clear favorite moments: our ceremony and our first dance. Our rabbi was a long-standing friend of my family who went to great lengths to personalize our ceremony. The nuptials included details of our love story, hand-picked blessings, and our own vows. It really felt like a celebration of our relationship. I was hesitant about writing my own vows because I hate public speaking, but couldn’t have been happier that we did. Our first dance song was You’re The One by Greta Van Fleet. We agonized for months to find the perfect song and then randomly stumbled upon You’re The One a few days before the deadline to finalize the music. It felt so right for us and was the perfect romantic way to kick off the party.
Tumblr media
Q:  WHAT SURPRISED YOU MOST ABOUT YOUR WEDDING?
A: I was most surprised by the fact that the little things that went wrong didn’t really matter in the moment. No matter how much you plan, something unexpected is bound to happen. But we included so many of our favorite things throughout our wedding weekend that it felt like a fool-proof way to be super happy throughout. It’s easy to get carried away with the planning process – but, in the moment, all I cared about was celebrating with my new husband and our friends and family.

Independence and Unity
The Jewish spring calendar calls on us to contemplate Israel’s meaning.  After Pesach - the story of our people’s birth and our liberation - comes Yom HaShoah.  We hear from survivors as they share their sanctified stories from the darkest depths. Then Yom Ha-Zikaron, the national day of remembrance for those who died in military service or by terror. We reflect on the sacrifice necessary for sovereignty. Finally we  celebrate Israel’s existence as an independent state on Yom Ha-Aztma’ut.  From despair to hope, to sacrifice and then to freedom.
On Yom Ha-Atzma’ut we celebrate the Jewish people and the particulars of Israel’s history and culture. Its creativity, ingenuity, its art and culture, a distinct blending of ancient history with modernity, and an rich diversity from all parts of the global Jewish palate. But principally Yom Ha-Atzma’ut is a celebration of our overcoming subjugation to become narrators of our own destiny.  On Yom Ha-Atzma’ut I am reminded of Israel’s importance to me and to the Jewish people.
Whenever I arrive at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv I have a visceral sense of connection. With the Haredi man surrounded by his children, with the chic Tel Aviv woman standing next to him, with the soldiers whose rifles are slung over their shoulders and the kids playing video games as they wait for Ima. Among this great diversity, a powerful unity.
I am also aware that Israel is a divisive topic. Even among Israelis - or especially among Israelis! - there are deep, deep divisions about politics and the Palestinian situation.  The grand narratives that used to bring people together have become more complicated. Narratives about the meaning of America, narratives about the benefits of technology, even narratives about the Torah and God - and, yes, narratives about Israel.
There is no single view of Israel that all diaspora Jews or even all Israeli Jews can accept as the uncomplicated truth. How do we deal with this challenging array of views and the advocacy of positions that we find foolish or worse? Regarding the existence of views that he found foolish and even offensive, David Ben Gurion once said:
One can regret that such disagreements exist, but they need to be acknowledged, and those who […] genuinely believe in human freedom and the freedom of consciousness must treat with respect even beliefs that they regard as wrong or tasteless or false...
My interest is in creating understanding of Israel and encouraging the Jewish community to talk about this nation that is such a deep part of our national soul. In a diverse synagogue community this means sometimes hearing views with which we disagree.  Back in February we brought Rabbi Melissa Weintraub here to lead us in a dialogue about our differences on Israel. We proved that it is possible to come together in affirming a shared love for Israel while confronting these differences. I look forward to working with the members who helped plan Rabbi Weintraub’s visit to create a follow up event and to continuing the Israel dialogue within our community.
Israel is a great gift and vital part of the Jewish present and future.  May we create with our diverse voices a space of respect and understanding, a space of hope and a space of support for the flourishing of the Jewish state.

Gentrification Genocide
(Four sketches)
c. 2017 by Steven Orr
 I.  Having survived AIDS, a gay-bashing, 9-11, Sandy and an endless stream of queens posing as no-show clients, I wonder if this latest wave of too-close-for-comfort gentrification will be my own, personal, genocidal Swan Song? Tonight, while riding my bike like the crazed, clowning pterodactyl, I found myself breathily imitating a very feminized bicycle bell. “Ding-ding” one moment; and the next, I’m screaming like a wolf-crazed banshee as I fly past a very proper, chic and rich-looking woman, giving her quite a start! Indignantly, she screams “Oh my God!” in a belting, masculine voice tinged with a Valley-girl accent. This happens just off 7th Street and First Avenue and I pedal on gleefully, half ashamed for my acting out; and half empowered and self-congratulatory for my anarchistic tendencies, praying and hoping that maybe, just maybe this entitled-acting cannibal is one of the new billionaire zombies inhabiting the crystal cardboard and obtuse glass towers on the eastside of Avenue A between 6th and 7th; or the newly renovated Shul four doors west of my man cave. Oh, you know, that confusing condo/synagogue, half place of worship, half billionaire-broken-hearted-haunt of the ghost of the big Rabbi with the swarmy, philandering son, also named Sandy; the one who finagled, then sold off the temple’s rights for close to a billion dollars.
II. In the morning, do not fear, I tell myself, for those monstrous explosions are merely the renovation of De Maria’s former studio, semi-formerly a Con-Ed substation; now currently being magically transformed into the billionaire Brant’s private museum. Ordinary neighborhood citizens will not be allowed access to the beatific garden growing between 421 E. 6th St., and cutting straight through to 7th Street, like a slender, cold, fish knife slices through a babe’s beating heart, nor will they be allowed into the private storage space where priceless, insipid and modern works of art will be stored and kept; available only for private viewing to the coterie of fellow billionaires, stars and their kingly cronies. Cannibalize yourselves, you lowly 99%, suffer the noise! Let the new money frighten away the former spirit guides and the friendly semi-wild gypsy cats that once played and sang and danced in between these dishwater-lit toy tenements of beer and dreams and young strains of songwriters’ guitars and falling in love with the moonbeam dreams of East Village hungry-hearts and shadowy leather lovers; for the new owners of this house of bomb-sounding billions was seeking a location and tax-write off in an edgy, creative neighborhood, so here we are! He sought to color his taste in architecture with the pronoun “creative”. Oh you poor 99%, you starving nothings. Yes, you may die of construction noise, dust, and fumes; and you may have to walk around the red-velvet ropes when the chic parties begin and the drones and helicopters start landing and the limousines begin pulling up with their stars with their even more glamorous billions but oh now look how your property values are increasing! With every chiseled BOOM of detaching chards and jagged, dusty bricks the work crew of flying monkeys flings into the the BOOMING maw of the dumpster from hell; comes the skeletal, fire-cracking, whacking-snapping chorus of never-ending jackhammers (often five at once), for this is a war of money over time, fought, won and played out by short trollish billionaires with crooked smiles. For WE THE PEOPLE--are irrelevant and WE THE PEOPLE are little better than charming old engines, White slave labor, memories of America’s fragmented, shrunken middle class, now addicted to crack, Walmart, Nikes and Disney digital dreams of “Searching for Dory”. WE THE PEOPLE, better forgotten, better disposed of, better buried by Trump, so the young, rich litters of billionaire spawn can play here anew, can fling themselves into their endless selfie-cesspools of Chai lattes tropical banana and protein powder smoothies, funny, arthritic, black French bulldogs named Lucy and lovely, decadent, divinely narcissistic empty and burning consumeristic dreams of pretension and nothingness.
III.  As a matter of fact, Medicaid was specifically created to hasten us to an early grave; Those of us that weren’t exterminated by the first, or 2nd waves of gentrification genocide. Someone said “We don’t know how good we have it.” “We don’t’ know how good we have it” I repeat as I am having a nervous breakdown trying to make an appointment, trying to get a referral from my (formerly caring) community healthcare clinic where now only Trans-people matter; for, besides the billionaires, THEY are also the new masters of the New York human race; everyone else is basically irrelevant. I’m trying to make an appointment for this back pain that’s made every other step excruciating for three months now, (all through the holidays; the wine helped, sometimes the sex). “No, Goddammit I don’t NEED ESTROGEN! FUCK YOUR ESTROGEN AND YOUR PHONE MENU AND YOUR INSTRUCTIONS TO CALL 9-1-1 IF THIS IS A MEDICAL EMERGENCY!” One of the patient associates handling referrals starts quoting policies to me, a vicious little queen with bitchy glee touting too-fast, meaningless and bureaucratic buzzwords at me like he’s throwing cream pies in my face. The next confusing day (nervous breakdown number two due to my continuing efforts to seek relief from this nagging pain), I am contacted by a manager named Stephanie (what sex is she? Dare I ask and be reported for inappropriate behavioral tendencies?). With balls of steel she attacks and berates me for my wholly unfriendly, overtly hostile and indeed homophobic language (referring to the “mean queen” of yesterday’s nervous breakdown).  “This is Callen Lorde” she proclaims, like a punitive, belittling, parole officer or a sexless, dominatrix cop, “You should know better!” Her rawhided, delivery strips me bare and exposes me for all my vulnerable, bisexual silliness and tendencies toward anarchistic prostitution and polymorphously, pleasure-seeking perversity that I am; for all that I inhabit and display, for this is the magical stuff that makes me me! I have an allergy to anything that coldly ignores and debases men only for being men. Why do some females act like raging amazon warriors slicing through the air, their angry clitorises waving like sharpened dragon’s teeth; so ready with a threat or an admonishment in response to any miniscule drop of incorrect language that happens to ejaculate casually from an innocent man’s mouth merely for the sake of jest…
IV.  Once upon a time, there was a neighbor non-friend of mine, a sexless tomboy with frigid, uptight boundaries who had a talent for making me feel as warm and welcomed as a serial killer rapist. “Don’t nag me” she asserted testily at the coop board meeting one Saturday afternoon, and with jerking movement of her dry, tendinous and over-vascularized torso, SLAM CRASH, the mirror behind her slides off the wall, and onto the floor. Everyone jumps “There, you see?” I intone, smiling like Joan Crawford as Crystal in “The Women”, “That’s what you get for attacking me.”

A complete guide to getting married in Italy
So you have decided to tie the knot and live your big day, and you know that a destination wedding in Italy would be your dream. The question now is: what kind of wedding ceremonies can you arrange in Italy?
Fortunately, the answer is: everything your heart desire!  Let’s see more in detail what are the wedding ceremonies you can celebrate in Italy and what are their main features.
What’s the difference between a civil and symbolic wedding?
The main difference is that the civil ceremony has a legal value and is officially recognized by Italian and foreign governments. It requires dealing with paperwork and consists of a somewhat fixed-formula script that can be partially personalized.
A symbolic ceremony, on the contrary, has no legal value, and is an unofficial, non-religious union.
Symbolic weddings in Italy can be fully personalized in every detail, including the script, and it can be just as romantic, amusing and tailor-made as you want it.
Symbolic ceremonies can take place in all sorts of locations, whereas civil weddings can only be arranged in selected venues (some of which are exclusive villa with gorgeous gardens, so you can get married outdoors with a civil ceremony in Italy!)
Both ceremonies can be personalized with floral decoration and music.
It is possible to organize both civil wedding ceremonies and symbolic weddings in Italy, and it often happens that both are held. Brides and grooms often choose to arrange a smaller civil wedding ceremony with their closest friends and families, and afterwards to celebrate a larger symbolic ceremony with the whole wedding party.
Do you need to live in Italy to get married with a civil wedding ceremony?
No. Couples living in all parts of the world and of all nationalities can organize a destination wedding in Italy with a civil ceremony. Depending on your nationality there is paperwork that needs to be taken care of, and sometimes you need to come to Italy some days before the wedding to take care of formalities. Thanks to our long experience as destination wedding planners we have an extensive knowledge of the procedure for a civil wedding in Italy of most nationalities all over the world and help you arrange your big day as stress-free as possible!
What about religious weddings in Italy: can I only get married with a catholic ceremony?
Not at all. Though it is possible to arrange a catholic wedding in Italy for foreign couples, we can arrange all sorts of religious wedding ceremonies in Italy.
In Italy there are some of the most beautiful Greek and Russian orthodox churches: we have arranged some beautiful Orthodox weddings in Italy and can assist you in every detail with the paperwork preparation.
Protestant weddings are also possible in Italy, and we have arranged the most romantic outdoor wedding ceremonies in fabulous villas in Tuscany and all over Italy. Anglican ceremonies can be arranged in some exclusive destinations.
If desired, catholic and protestant weddings can be legally valid as well.
Is it possible to arrange a Jewish wedding ceremony in Italy?
Yes, and we have extensive connection with a wide network of kosher catering, locations that are perfectly fit for a Jewish wedding, musicians etc. We have a long experience and complete knowledge in planning Jewish weddings in Italy that we have developed in close contact with our trusted rabbis.
Orthodox Jewish wedding ceremonies are possible in some of the most beautiful wedding venues of Italy, where you can live an elegant and amazing more-day event in full respect of Shabbat.
What about Indian wedding ceremonies?
Indian wedding ceremonies are possible in Italy as well. We have arranged chic Hindu and Sikh ceremonies in some of the most elegant wedding villas all over Italy.
And if you have any questions, just send us an email at [email protected], we are happy to clarify your doubts and help you choose the wedding ceremony in Italy that is best suited for you! What do you think about this? What is your idea of a perfect wedding?
