Holiday Spetsnaz Headcanons

I was just sitting here at work thinking about what I think the Spetz boys would get their love interest or S/O for Christmas, and things they would do in the cold weather. I'm also procrastinating writing for my story so ya know...

Kapkan - Kapkan always watches you, and probably is the most in tune with your feelings and desires. He's a hunter, so he's used to watching carefully and studying patterns. He would get you something thoughtful. If you mentioned even one thing in passing that you were interested in, he would remember that and make sure to keep it in mind when the holidays came around. I don't think he's someone who would buy tons of gifts, but he would definitely make sure you had a few thoughtful gifts. He's a quality over quantity type of man.

As far as how he would act in cold weather...Kapkan loves the cold. He thrives in it even, and he would always want to make sure you were warm. He would be really good at starting a fire in the fireplace and make sure that you had a cozy blanket. He's not the most cuddly, but he would try to be for you, and he lowkey likes the way you look when you fall asleep by the light of the fireplace on his chest.

Tachanka - We all know Alexsandr would shower you with tons of unnecessary but heartwarming gifts. He will have done his best and you would certainly appreciate the gesture. While not the most observant of the Spetz boys, he certainly would be the loudest about his adoration for you and wouldn't be shy about it in front of anyone. You would have to get a storage unit to store some of the things he buys you. I also like to think he would take SO MUCH pride in his Christmas tree. Like it would be the biggest tree you'd ever seen covered in lights.

Tachanka isn't as fond of cold weather as Kapkan, but he doesn't mind it either. He's a very physically affectionate person and loves any opportunity to get close to you and hold you tight...sometimes too tight and you feel like you can't breathe. He would find it adorable to wrap you in several blankets like a burrito on the couch.

Fuze - Fuze would probably be the most timid about getting you a gift. It would be super important that he got it right, and he would reach out to a few of his closest comrades, and yours, to make sure he didn't disappoint you. He wouldn't be vocal about it, but he would internally swell with excitement when you opened his thoughtful gift and hope to the stars that you were as excited to receive it as he was to give it to you. He would also get along with your family really well too during holiday parties that you dragged him to against his will.

Fuze would definitely be shy when it came to cuddling you, but once you were wrapped in each other's arms on a cold winter night, he would be happy. He would also take great pleasure in making his signature hot cocoa that is surprisingly the most delicious thing you've ever tried. He radiates a lot body heat, and you would latch on to him for dear life because of that.

Glaz - Glaz would by far go out of his way to do something creative. If you had mentioned something specific that you wanted he would make sure to do that too, but he wouldn't be able to resist his artistic nature. You would be surprised with a beautiful painting of something you mentioned liking whether it be a scene from a book you loved maybe a movie scene. He would love to see how happy it made you to receive something so special that he had made especially for you.

Glaz wouldn't necessarily be a pro at stoking the fire, but he would give you his jacket and gloves and hold you all night to keep you from getting too cold. He would also go to the store in a snow storm to get you something warm to drink and a space heater if the gloves, jacket and cuddles weren't enough.

Infos on Mute that helped me build his relationship with Braise according to his canon personality.

Clearly indicates when he doesn’t enjoy someone’s company;

I feel like Mute does not sugarcoat shit, he’ll clearly state when he doesn’t like another operator, being very truthful when it comes to explaining why he dislikes them.

That’s why I’m writing him as someone who doesn’t hide his reasons from Braise, he clearly explains to her, at some point, why he doesn’t enjoy being her teammate.

That is also why Braise will describe Mute as a “misanthrope”, meaning someone who doesn’t like other people.

Kind of a “I dislike everyone but you” relationship.

This personality trait will also show through his jealousy. Braise thinks it’s just another guy he doesn’t like, but there’s a reason to it.

He’s talkative, likes to discuss but does not enjoy small talk;

The fact that he can be brash makes me think he’s also cocky. I’m writing him as someone who’s self-assertive and confident in his abilities. (I mean, with his intelligence, ofc he’s confident)

This trait, at first, annoys Braise who thinks he could be more humble, but it’s also something that attracts her.

Mute will also prefer to engage in meaningful conversations with Braise, since he dislikes small talk, which bonds the two of them during their time together as teammates.

Basically, he won’t have a problem approaching Braise to talk and/or tease her since Mute isn’t reserved, until he realizes how strongly he feels towards her.

Despite his confidence, he’s reluctant to talk about personal matters and does not often express his feelings;

Again, I decided to stick to this information and write Mute as a man who rarely talks about his own feelings and personal issues.

He’ll have a hard time forming sentences to show his love to Braise. This being the only times he’ll have difficulty talking to her, searching for the perfect words to not mess things up.

Mute will also take a long time before warming up to her and have an easier time expressing how he feels since he enjoys his secrecy.

His respect for secrecy is also one of the reasons Mute doesn’t mind keeping his casual relationship with Braise a secret. (often teasing her about it in public though)

Mute is overall impatient;

His impatience his one of the reasons Braise and Mute won’t get along when they first met and are forced to work together.

As Harry states, Mute his very intelligent. I think that is one of the reasons why he thinks his approach is always the most efficient. He won’t always see different ones, including what Braise’s proposes during their training sessions and missions.

I also write him as being angry at himself for not finding the words to talk to the woman she loves. He’ll be impatient, wondering why it’s so difficult.

Finally, he has a lot of knowledge, and doesn’t mind teaching the others;

I really like the idea of him expanding his knowledge to other operators.

He’ll also be very interested in a lot of subjects, and learns very fast.

That’s partly why Braise and Mute would have no problem talking for hours about a subject since Mute knows a lot and Braise loves to learn more and just listen. (probably the only times they’ll get along)

Braise will also like to just admire him while he talks about something he’s so passionate about, which often leads him to talk about the beauty of his hometown, York, and everything he still remembers doing back when he was still a kid.

Brothers in arms and far beyond that border. A tightly knit family that needs mere gazes to understand what the others want. Not the most vocal about their feelings - except for Tachanka - but they do have their own ways of expressing themselves. Wether it be Glaz trusting enough to let them watch him create, Maxim leaving his private journal in the shared dorm without second thought, or Fuze letting them tend to his wounds when he was too stubborn to admit the pain to Doc - their bond is strong and solid. Others may frown at their antics, comment how they're "anti social", seclude themselves from the others. They won't hear it, pay it no mind as they hold honesty to a high regard that plays a big part in earning their respect. Lots of late night card games with beer, bread and caviar. Peace and war forms them, draws them closer.

Quite the lively unit once they accept you into their circle.

GSG9

A colourful gang. On one side we have the never dimming sunshine of an extrovert, Blitz, but we also got the mechanic who treats his motherboard with such tender gentleness one would think it's his wife. There's our level headed IQ who takes great pride in her work and then there's Bandit, who got caught watching porn on shift. They couldn't be any more different and yet their personalities mesh into a well rounded family. One pulls the other up from whatever dark place they're in, stay by their side how ever long needed and gives them a stern pep talk if needed. Germans are direct, and these four are no exception. None other could point out their flaws in such great detail without receiving a punch to the gut in response. They're often seen bickering. Or rather, Bandit teasing Jäger in just the right ways, IQ frowning at them to cut it out, and Blitz patting her shoulder as he chuckles along, tells her to let them be. There's more to this unit than what you see on the surface.

CBRN

An pair that got along from the start. Finka has a gift for making people open up to her without crossing boundaries or pushing, she lets them come to her in their own time and way. Lion appreciates her mentality; calm yet confident, takes his pricky talk in stride and answers as unphased as she is. A capable partner he can trust on the field. He knows he needn't worry about her, but her name falls in his prayers - his way of expressing genuine concern. As much of a hothead as he is, it does him good to be cooled down, or left to steam, whichever need be. It's happened more than once though that Finka gave him a stern talk about not forgetting to turn off the lights in the lab, not to drink so much coffee or not bottling up emotions for too long. She values him greatly, although it may take him some time to realise just as much. Finka doesn't confide in just anyone about her struggles, nor does Lion listen to someone else as intently as he does to her. When one stands in the rain, the other shall be their umbrella.

Headcannons:

• Glaz and Ela like to share their art with each other. Despite their differences in technique and style they find comfort in doing so, both knowing how little satisfaction is gained from an "oh, it looks good".

• Speaking of Glaz - he can be quite lazy when it comes to chores. With Kapkan spending days on end in the woods and Fuze occupying the workshop like no other, he tends to assign some if his chores to these two. They wouldn't notice anyways, not even bothering to take a look at the shared to do list until it bites them in the ass. As it so happens, Tachanka keeps a close eye on said list, and has caught all three slacking off more than once. (The punishment being double the amount of their usual chores.)

• IQ likes to write in her free time. She not the most creative kind of person, but took an interest in poetry at a young age, and has since found it helps her express her feelings. She seldomly shares it with others. Not because she's particularly shy about it, but rather because she doesn't expect anyone to be interested; which is exactly where Blitz comes into play, who listens intently and gives good feedback for her to rely on.

• Bandit and Blitz are known for their bickering. It usually starts with Bandit being overly sarcastic, commenting on how Blitz drank his coffee or talked to that one girl, which quickly spirals into a match between them. As annoyed as Blitz acts, his voice gives away just how much fun he has roasting each other back and forth. All until someone chimes in and they team up against them. (Them aka Jäger, who tells them to shut up only to regret it minutes later.)

• What's bigger than Lion's temper? Hs love for sweets. Especially Belgian chocolate or honey filled pralines - it's not too rare of an occurrance for him to complain about stomach aches to Finka after tearing through a whole bag.

• Finka; a social chameleon who keeps up a perfect image of comradery and strength. Close with the Spetsnaz and yet much more approachable, as Harry noted on her psychology report. Little does she let on about her downs. About how draining it gets to constantly be stuck in a one on one race with her illness, how her research its frustratingly slow moments, how she spends time wallowing in thoughts of "what if?". Even someone like her has got the blues sometimes, and what better way to be put back on track than by some French hothead offering his last praline to her?

braise’s headcannons

She has a cap collection. A lot from her unit in the RCMP but also from different sports’ teams and places she visited. She often asks for a cap when someone offers to buy her something during a trip.

She can’t handle spicy food that well. She avoids spicy noodles most of the time and never puts spicy sauce with whatever she’s eating. She wishes she could handle it though.

She’s got a rose tattoo on her left hand. You can only see the stem of the rose when she has long sleeves on.

She has a griffin tattoo on the side of her body (ribs).

She doesn’t like sharing about her past, especially her failures. That is why she won’t open up that much about it. She’ll give you few details if you really deserve it.

She doesn’t usually wear a helmet, Luna feels more confortable with her unit’s cap and black earbuds.

She really enjoys wearing shades. One of her favorite thing to add to her undercover outfits. Complimenting her while she wears them will only increase her ego. She’ll be insufferably cocky.

She likes to study people. She’ll often observe how others around her act to different situations to make sure she doesn’t make anyone uncomfortable.

She gave up on having any kind of pet since she realized she couldn’t even take care of a goldfish without it dying in five days.

She’s also known for her use of sarcasm. Luna definitely likes to see how others reacts to her sarcasm, wether they reciprocate it or have no idea she’s being sarcastic. (few sarcastic comments with Jordan, a shit ton with Mute)

Luna likes meeting new people. She’ll stay in her corner even though she likes having meaningless conversation about everything with a group of friends. She has to go out more, that’s for sure.

Braise isn’t going to tell you what is wrong. She’ll want to isolate herself until she’s good to go again. She will tell you months later. (that’s if you even ask her)

She owns a black metallic Camaro with white stripes.

Right up front, Marius knew he liked you. However, he didn’t really know how much he liked you.

It took him a while for him to address his feelings. His teammates heard about nothing else but you for a few weeks.

You thought he didn’t like you at first, as he barely talked to you. He avoided you like the plague, but would joke and laugh with everyone else as if they were related. He later on told you he was just afraid, almost intimidated, to talk to you.

“I thought you were too good for me, or something, I don’t know.”

“Marius, sweetie... why?”

“I-, uh, I don’t know?! My head just spinned off my shoulders for a while...”

Dominic was glad he wasn’t talking his work up for once, but was still concerned over his friend’s jumble of confusion.

Elias was the most helpful, listening to him, but he didn’t want to push him towards confrontation. He did help Marius identify what he was feeling, however.

Monika, on the other hand, was the one who locked you and Jaeger in the tech lab together, and was the person who held onto the key that kept him from leaving unless he confessed.

With sweaty palms and weak knees, Jaeger confessed to you that night. He hates when you tell the story, because after you said yes to his “Ugghhmmm, mmm, uhm... I was wondering if you’d like to go out..sometime. Like together. Together. Like we’re together as a couple... together.”, he almost collapsed from relief.

It was a miracle his heart didn’t fail in that moment.

Dating Jäger is truly a unique experience.

Date nights include: watching weird geopolitical documentaries and cuddling at two o’clock in the morning, wheelchair racing in Hereford’s hallways, and of course, the classic ‘pass out on the living room floor before pizza’s delivered because we spent hours up in the tech lab painting the ads systems to look like Wall-E”

While he’s not very affectionate in public, Marius makes up for it with his constant praise. He tends to show off a lot, without realizing it. It’s not that he’s cocky, he’s just extremely proud of his work and his partner’s entire existence. “Mein libeling” is your name now. Good luck.

He has a dream about flying you two somewhere for a break. Outside of work, where you’re not getting shot at, or in immediate danger.

When he’s off in a foreign place on a mission, he likes to bring back little trinkets for you.

If you’re in the same line of work as him, he directs a lot of the attention he gets towards you.

He’s your hypeman 10/10. He’s constantly telling you how good you look, and how great you are. It’s absolutely endearing.

His coworkers are unwillingly subjected to the praise everyday. He has yet to notice.

While he can get in slumps every now and then, he tries his hardest to ignore it. You reminding him that he can’t just avoid his problems helps a lot. You’re his rock most of the time. His pride is hurt easily, but having you there to heal him helps. He’ll do the same for you. Without question.

While he does run cold, he loves cuddles. If you can ignore his algor mortis hands, he’ll be all over you at the end of the day.

He likes being around you. It’s hard for him to focus on one thing at a time, but he wants to be with you always. The problem is: his head won’t let him.

Just let him lay on your chest, or put your legs over his while he looks at his phone/the tv or reads. He loves it.

He still has a few scars (mental and physical) from Operation Chimera. He doesn’t really talk to anyone about the experience, aside from Doc and Harry, when it’s mandatory. Even his team doesn’t know how he’s coping.

Once you guys are together for a while, he opens up about it. He lets you see the scar on his chest first. Later on, he tells about what really bugs him: the mental scarring it caused him. He had trouble piloting for a while. Afraid what happened last time would repeat.

After you two layed down and talked about it, he feels like a weight has been taken off his shoulders. He fell asleep on your lap that night, your hand still running through his hair. He slept well.

- prefers to be big spoon when cuddling, giles is quite literally a mountain.

- whether if you enjoy it or not, giles walks around your house/apartment without a shirt on after training. he could care less if you saw his abs and other muscles.

- writes you love letters and notes. giles is old fashion, not only because of his age but because he finds these things romantic. any day of the week he's willing to make a home made dinner with you.

- and if you don't speak french already expect giles to teach you. sometimes he'll just quickly ramble to you in his native tongue or point simple object out and mention what they are in french and procced to help adjust your french accent when speaking french.
